Reality TV star Kim Kardashian West was robbed by five men at gunpoint while in a rented Paris luxury mansion early Monday morning local time, reports CNN.
The robbers, who dressed as police officers, stole an estimated $10 million worth of jewelry and two cellphones while Kardashian was locked in the bathroom.
A Kardashian spokeswoman said the star was “badly shaken but physically unharmed.”
“The French Interior Ministry said five men threatened the mansion concierge with a weapon, handcuffed him and forced him to open the private apartment,” reports CNN. “Two of the men were able to gain entry to Kardashian West’s room, according to the Paris prosecutor’s office, and a gun was held to her head.”
The criminals locked Kardashian in her bathroom while they ransacked the apartment.
Out of the reported $10 million stolen in jewelry, one ring alone was worth an estimated $4.49 million.
The robbers did not fire their guns and no one was hurt, said the French Interior Ministry. It is unclear if Kardashian was alone, or if her two young children were with her at the time.
Kardashian left France soon following the crime against her, after speaking with authorities.
Kanye West, Kardashian’s husband, apparently found out about the disturbing robbery while on stage performing at the Meadows Festival in New York late Sunday night. He told his fans there had been a “family emergency” and quickly left the stage, shocking festival attendees.
Kardashian was in France for Paris Fashion Week with her two sisters, Kourtney Kardashian and Kendall Jenner, and her mother Kris Jenner.
