Comedian and far-Left activist Amy Schumer came down hard on Alec Baldwin’s wife, Hilaria Baldwin, who made headlines in 2020 for suggesting that she was from Spain and playing up her Spanish heritage despite hailing from the United States.

Schumer addressed the controversy in her new Netflix stand-up special, “Emergency Contact.”

“Do you guys know who Hilaria Baldwin is?” the comedian asked during the newly released special. “I’m saying it wrong. I’m sorry,” she said, changing her pronunciation to have a thick Spanish accent. “Hilaria Baldwin,” she continued. “I just can’t wrap my head around this story.”

Schumer described meeting Baldwin “years ago” on the set of “Saturday Night Live.” The 42-year-old celebrity said Baldwin claimed to be “‘from España'” and spoke with “a very thick Spanish accent,” per USA Today.

“They have a von Trapp amount of children,” she said of Alec and Hilaria’s seven kids, comparing them to the classic film “The Sound of Music,” which is about a family with the same number of children. “And they named them all ― I’m not sure, but very Spanish names like Jamón, Croqueta, and Flamenco.”

“And all of this would be fine and beautiful, except that ‘Hilaria from España’ is actually Hillary from Boston,” Schumer said. “This woman is in no way Spanish. Her parents are not from Spain. No one in her life is from Spain. You’re going, ‘What?!'”

The “Trainwreck” actress said she was “not trying to bully a sociopath” by bringing this up.

In 2020, Baldwin defended herself from critics who accused her of appropriating Spanish culture.

“I’m born in Boston, and then I spent some of my childhood in Boston, some of my childhood in Spain,” she said in a video posted to Instagram. “There was, like, a lot of back-and-forth my entire life, and I’m really lucky that I grew up speaking two languages, and I’m trying to raise my kids so that they speak two languages too.”

The yoga instructor, born Hillary Thomas, said her “whole family” called her Hilaria, per Insider. “I think that we can all be really, like, clear that it’s the same name, just a few letters different, so I think we shouldn’t be so upset about it,” she said.

Baldwin further defended mixing Spanish and English while speaking. “It’s one of those things that’s always been a little bit — I’ve been a little insecure about over at different times,” she said in 2020. “When I tried to work, I tried to enunciate a little bit more, but if I get nervous or upset or something, then I start to mix the two.”

“It’s not something that I’m, like, playing at. So I want that to be very, very, very clear,” Baldwin said.
