Adam Levine is speaking out about Instagram model Sumner Stroh’s claims that he engaged in an affair with her for a year.
The Maroon 5 frontman shared his statement with TMZ, saying he used “poor judgment” but also refuting claims that he engaged in a sexual relationship with the 23-year-old influencer.
“I used poor judgment in speaking with anyone other than my wife in ANY kind of flirtatious manner,” the singer told the outlet Tuesday. “I did not have an affair, nevertheless, I crossed the line during a regrettable period of my life.”
“In certain instances it became inappropriate. I have addressed that and taken proactive steps to remedy this with my family. My wife and my family is all I care about in this world,” he continued.
“To be this naive and stupid enough to risk the only thing that truly matters to me was the greatest mistake I could ever make. I will never make it again. I take full responsibility. We will get through it and we will get through it together.”
Behati Prinsloo, Levine’s wife of eight years, recently announced she was expecting the couple’s third child. They already share two daughters, Dusty Rose, 5, and Gio Grace, 4.
Stroh made waves by posting screenshots of her conversations with Levine earlier this week, claiming he had told her he planned to name his unborn child after her.
As the Daily Wire previously reported, Stroh headed to social media to discuss the alleged affair. “Embarrassed I was involved [with] a man with this utter lack of remorse and respect,” she shared in a TikTok video.
“I’m just gonna rip the band-aid off,” the influencer continued. “Essentially, I was having an affair with a man who’s married to a Victoria’s Secret model.”
“At the time, I was young, I was naive, and, I mean, quite frankly, I feel exploited,” Stroh continued. “I wasn’t in the scene like I am now. So I was definitely very easily manipulated. Maroon 5 is practically elevator music at this point,” Stroh said. “So, I’m sure you know who Adam Levine is.”
“Adam and I were seeing each other for about a year, after I stopped talking to him over a period of months, this is how he came back into my life,” she said, including screenshots of their conversations.
“Ok serious question,” Levine allegedly wrote to Stroh. “I’m having another baby and if it’s [a] boy I really wanna name it Sumner. You ok with that? DEAD serious.”
Stroh said she “never wanted to come forward” with news of the affair but claims a friend was trying to sell the story to tabloids, which forced her hand.
