If people were surprised to see Vice President JD Vance as a guest on ABC&#8217;s &#8220;The View,&#8221; that is likely because the show typically skews far to the Left — both in its regular hosts and the guests invited to join the table.
Data provided to The Daily Wire by The Media Research Center only serves to underscore that point, as a recent study conducted by the MRC revealed that &#8220;The View&#8221; booked 87 liberal guests and just five conservative guests — meaning the show booked 17.4 times more liberals than conservatives.
&#8220;&#8216;The View’s&#8217; 87-5 guest ratio proves the show is not diverse at all. It’s a Democrat Socialist Party infomercial,&#8221; MRC President David Bozell said.
The data was compiled over the course of the midday talk show&#8217;s 29th season — which ran from September 8, 2025, through July 24, 2026 — and evaluated only the guests who specifically spoke about politics in one direction or the other.
The five &#8220;conservative&#8221; guests were Cheryl Hines (wife of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.), former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), former reality star and Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt, attorney Alina Habba, and Vice President JD Vance.
The liberal guests — in addition to a number of celebrities who discuss political issues — included but were not limited to: New York City&#8217;s Democratic socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), Democratic Senate nominee James Talarico (also from Texas), Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT), former First Lady Jill Biden, Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ), and Supreme Court Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Ketanji Brown Jackson (on separate occasions).
It is also worth noting that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, though listed as a &#8220;conservative&#8221; guest for her appearance on November 4, 2025, also appeared on the &#8220;liberal&#8221; list for her appearances on January 1, 2026, and July 7, 2026.
According to the official stated methodology of the study, &#8220;For a guest to be counted as either liberal or conservative, they needed to express such views during their appearance on &#8216;The View.&#8217; If a celebrity did not discuss politics, they were not included in the count of political leanings even if they had a history of being outspoken in the past. For example, actor Robert De Niro had a history of speaking out against President Trump, but was not included in the liberal count because politics did not come up.&#8221;
Additionally, it was noted that &#8220;conservative&#8221; guest hosts who rotated through while Republican cohost Alyssa Farah Griffin was on maternity leave were not officially considered &#8220;guests&#8221; — nor were the regular hosts, who lean far to the Left — and were thus excluded from the reported numbers.
The study comes as reports swirl about the studio making major cuts — from wardrobe to host salaries — and the show faces an investigation from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) into whether or not it qualifies as a &#8220;bona fide news program&#8221; and is thus exempt from &#8220;equal time&#8221; political broadcast requirements.
The network has argued that a 2002 ruling declaring the show a &#8220;news&#8221; program should stand, adding that &#8220;nothing about ‘The View’ that the law cares about has changed since the Commission last answered that question more than two decades ago. … What has changed is not the program but the political climate around it.&#8221;
The network also pushed back on FCC Chairman Brendan Carr, complaining that his focus has been unfairly directed toward daytime and evening television programming &#8220;perceived as unfriendly to the current administration — while leaving untouched the vast landscape of talk radio, where candidates routinely appear without their opponents.&#8221;
The FCC responded to that criticism in a statement given to The Associated Press, saying, &#8220;While ABC insists that ‘The View’ is a ‘bona fide news program’ under the law, ABC should focus on complying with its public-interest obligations, rather than misleading the public about them.&#8221;

“The View” is ending Season 29 with an uncertain future, with <a href="https://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/nicholas-fondacaro/2026/06/23/mrc-leads-charge-strip-view-bona-fide-news-status">the FCC breathing down their necks</a> as their “bona fide news program” status was being scrutinized and ABC News reportedly <a href="https://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/nicholas-fondacaro/2026/07/22/feeling-pressure-view-reportedly-slashing-budgets-denying">denying raises and slashing budgets</a> as advertisers looked elsewhere. Amid all of this, the liberal ladies stayed on message and cranked up the crazy in the closing week of the season with a torrent of lies crafted to scare their audience and drive them to the polls in utter terror in November.
Arguably one of the most outlandish things anyone on “The View” has ever uttered came from Joy Behar on Thursday. She was shouting about how we needed to “follow the money.” Supposedly, President Trump was being paid by Saudi Arabia to allow them to get nukes so they could drop one on Cleveland, Ohio.
It was truly wild stuff:

Follow the money with this guy!

No. The agreement with the Saudis was not to give them nukes or allow them to construct nukes. The agreement was for <a href="https://apnews.com/article/trump-saudi-arabia-nuclear-program-uranium-15fdb262bb9c83d0d959ca96b7561c12">enriching uranium for nuclear energy</a>. And claiming Trump was selling out America so another country could nuke us was downright dangerous and incendiary rhetoric that could spur another liberal nutcase to violence.

Also, why Cleveland? Do the Saudis or Trump have a particular hatred for the Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Fame? Maybe they&#8217;re still upset over the end of “The Drew Carey Show.”
“The View” also repeated the refrain they’ve been singing all year, that Trump was planning to steal the 2026 midterm elections.
“The question is: do you think he&#8217;s laying the groundwork to contest the election? Hell, yeah,” Whoopi Goldberg exclaimed. Behar added: “That speech was not about 2020. That speech was about 2026 and he is petrified that the Democrats are going to take over.”

Additionally, Behar’s brain apparently deleted every <a href="https://www.advocate.com/print-issue/current-issue/2012/12/01/new-joy-behar">comment she</a> and <a href="https://newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/nicholas-fondacaro/2022/09/07/doing-her-part-view-defends-2016-election-denial-jean-pierre">her co-hosts</a> had made <a href="https://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/nicholas-fondacaro/2026/06/08/cant-believe-sunny-hostin-justifies-skepticism-trump-2024">doubting</a> every Republican presidential victory since 2000, including 2024. According to her, no one had ever questioned the validity of an American election before Trump:

Finally, on Friday’s show, Hostin (<a href="https://x.com/NickFondacaro/status/2080677999733596489?s=20">who thought only 5 states required I.D</a>.) equated requiring I.D. to vote to having black people &#8220;count jelly beans in a jar&#8221; and &#8220;having to answer citizenship questions.&#8221; &#8220;I believe that in my soul,&#8221; she proclaimed.

When Megan Rapinoe recently went on “The View,” she went on a tirade about trans-identifying athletes supposedly being excluded from women’s sports. Namely, she <a href="https://x.com/TheView/status/2079664476786446775">posed a question</a> regarding men in women’s sports that the media has since buzzed about: “Unsafe from who?” I immediately had an answer: me.
In 2022, I was <a href="https://www.iwfeatures.com/documentary/payton-mcnabb/">struck</a> in the head by a volleyball spiked by a male athlete competing on the opposing girls’ team. The impact knocked me unconscious and caused a traumatic brain injury that ended my athletic career — and still affects me today.
I’ve spent my early 20s <a href="https://www.independentwomen.com/2024/05/24/advisory-our-bodies-our-sports-summer-2024-bus-tour-take-back-title-ix-protect-womens-sports/">traveling</a> across the country, speaking up for women’s sports. Along the way, I’ve been <a href="https://msmagazine.com/2026/07/13/trump-title-ix-trans-women-sports-girls-equality-college-university-christopher-newport-california-lutheran-university/">accused</a> of “co-opting” feminist language and have dealt with unrelenting hatred and even <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/sports/transgender-comedian-faces-backlash-mocking-payton-mcnabbs-brain-injury-from-male-volleyball-player">comedy skits</a> about me.
That’s why I was grateful to see WNBA player <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7464960/2026/07/22/sophie-cunningham-trans-comments-womens-sports/">Sophie Cunningham refuse</a> to back down when she defended women’s sports, calling it a “common-sense” position and even standing squarely planted on her original stance, <a href="https://x.com/realDailyWire/status/2080310506997305817?s=20">saying</a>, “I said what I said.”
Another accusation hurled recently at our efforts argues that women like me have been <a href="https://msmagazine.com/2026/07/13/trump-title-ix-trans-women-sports-girls-equality-college-university-christopher-newport-california-lutheran-university/">distracted</a> from the “real” issues facing female athletes. According to Ms. Magazine, we should be talking about “fewer opportunities, unequal funding and facilities access, and hundreds of unresolved discrimination complaints” from female athletes. That position misses the point entirely. I can unequivocally say that no amount of additional funding, nor an upgraded facility, would have prevented my volleyball injury.
The suggestion that advocates like me don’t care about funding or participation because we also defend fairness creates a false choice. Women are capable of caring about more than one issue at a time.
We can fight for better resources while also insisting that girls deserve a level playing field. I would even argue that those goals depend on each other.
If roster spots, conference championships, podium finishes, scholarships, and records can all be taken by male athletes competing in the women’s division, then equal funding alone cannot create equal opportunities.
Female athletes have fought for decades to secure equal opportunities under Title IX — and yes, the ups and downs of funding and participation do matter. Participation in women’s sports has gone from <a href="https://www.womenssportsfoundation.org/education/title-ix-and-the-rise-of-female-athletes-in-america/">3.7% to 40% since 1976</a>. But equal opportunity based on sex means next to nothing if girls are expected to compete in a category that is no longer reserved for them.
The fact of the matter is that Title IX wasn’t created to build nicer locker rooms or buy better uniforms. It was enacted because lawmakers acknowledged biological reality: women, who are physically different from men, deserved a category for themselves to promote safe, equal, and fair educational opportunities (sports included). Protecting that category is Title IX’s purpose.
The only thing that would have protected me was preserving the girls’ category for girls only. Independent Women’s “<a href="https://ourbodiesoursports.com/">Our Bodies, Our Sports</a>” and “Her Game. Her Legacy.” initiatives have never been about degrading people struggling with gender dysphoria — it’s been about acknowledging biological differences between males and females for everyone’s safety and equal opportunity.
Male puberty <a href="https://www.independentwomen.com/competition-report/">produces</a> measurable advantages in strength, speed, endurance, and power. That reality should not be ignored, especially if we are asking females to go up against them in contact sports. Moreover, sports are inherently <a href="https://www.independentwomen.com/competition-report/">zero-sum</a>, so even just one man on a women’s team means a woman has lost a roster spot and an opportunity to compete.
The Supreme Court just <a href="https://www.independentwomen.com/2026/07/01/scotus-snapshot-womens-sports-decision/">affirmed</a> this concept, recognizing “woman” as it was meant in the 1970s: as biologically female. States have legitimate reasons to separate athletic competition based on biological sex.
Yet radical advocates (and their media allies, like Ms. Magazine and Megan Rapinoe) continue to respond with inflammatory claims that protecting women’s sports will somehow lead to <a href="https://feminist.org/news/supreme-court-delivers-blow-to-transgender-student-athletes/">“genital inspections”</a> of girls. That rhetoric may make the headlines, but there is no factual basis to their claims.
No one has ordered invasive inspections of high-school or collegiate athletes. Schools have operated sex-separated athletics based on biological differences for decades without requiring such measures. Athletic eligibility has long been determined through ordinary school records and administrative processes.
The scare tactics are meant to distract from the real conversation.
I don’t want better facilities and shiny, bright new equipment if I have to sacrifice my safety. I don’t want more scholarships for “women” if female athletes are no longer able to qualify for them alongside their male competitors.
I’m still here fighting because what happened to me shouldn’t happen to anyone else — ever. I’ve spoken with women who’ve lost titles, podium spots, and hometown records because of this issue — and none of them were asking for special treatment. All we’ve been asking for is exactly what Title IX promised over 50 years ago: a fair chance to compete.

Sunny Hostin, the co-host of ABC’s “The View,” is facing backlash for appearing to use her position as a celebrity and former federal prosecutor to try to save her son from a police charge.
Hostin&#8217;s son, 24-year-old Gabriel Hostin, was briefly arrested June 16 in New Rochelle — a city about 17 miles from New York City. Officers spotted Gabriel “on the right-of-way of the active railroad tracks, in violation of the posted no trespassing signs,” according to court records <a href="https://nypost.com/2026/07/17/us-news/sunny-hostin-was-on-phone-with-son-when-he-was-caught-trespassing-on-metro-north-tracks/">obtained</a> by the New York Post. 
Immediately after being handcuffed, Gabriel asked if he could call his mother and have the police talk to her. The police agreed.
Bodycam footage received by the New York Post shows Sunny using her position as a former federal prosecutor and her son’s background as a Harvard graduate and elementary teacher to try to get the charge dropped.
When Sunny got on the phone, one police officer explained the nature of the incident.
“Besides being illegal, it’s actually very dangerous for him to be around the railroad tracks. We get people who get hit all the time,” one police officer, identified as Officer Gomez, stated.
“That’s my son. He’s a Harvard graduate. He’s not a criminal. He has no criminal record, no criminal history,&#8221; Sunny replied over the phone.
The officer replied that police had changed the charge from the usual criminal misdemeanor to a violation. “There’s nothing on his record, and he’s been very cooperative with us. But as of right now, we will have to issue him an appearance ticket,” Gomez said.
“Officer, is that really necessary? This is a kid who doesn’t do anything. He’s a Harvard graduate and a Yale researcher,” Hostin replied. “He teaches geometry to 4th graders in the Bronx. Why would you put something on his record like this?”
“It’s not anything criminal. He just has to appear. That’s all it is. It’s not a misdemeanor,” Gomez said. “He would have to appear, which is an inconvenience, but with all due respect, man, I still have a job to do, and we have to deter people from being on the tracks.”
Sunny arrived at the scene and asked for the violation to be reduced to a warning, to which Gomez said, “I cannot at this point.”
The officer <a href="https://www.nysenate.gov/legislation/laws/PEN/140.05">issued</a> Gabriel Hostin a 140.05, which constitutes a trespass violation. In New York <a href="https://www.nycourts.gov/help/criminal/types-criminal-cases">courts</a>, violations are for “non-criminal offenses [that] can still be punishable by arrest, fines and/or jail time.” However, violations do not create a criminal record and can remain off most applications. 
Gabriel claimed the gate was open to the railroad and his trespassing was “an innocent mistake.”
&#8220;The View&#8221; host has decided to represent her son in his case to try to clear him of the violation.
“The circumstances of this case do not reflect the type of conduct the New York Penal Law § 140.05 was intended to address,” Hostin stated in a letter to Assistant District Attorney Amanda Greene, <a href="https://www.tmz.com/2026/07/17/sunny-hostin-and-son-gabriel-on-body-cam-footage/">obtained</a> by TMZ.
She continued in the letter, stating that Gabriel was a Harvard graduate and a former Junior Olympian track athlete who was training when he “observed what appeared to be a gravel incline that could be used for his training.” Her letter alleges that the “No Trespassing” sign was on the left gate and thus not visible since the gates were open.
In response to Sunny’s claim, the Metro-North Railroad police released a photo showing the “No Trespassing” sign was visible on a pole near the open gates.
&#8220;The View&#8221; host has yet to <a href="https://www.facebook.com/sunnychostin/">discuss</a> the situation on social media or broach the subject on her show.

‘The View’ Host Uses Her Privilege After Son Is Arrested

When your goal is to keep your audience whipped up into a perpetual state of outrage and fear, you treat the mundane and the routine as an egregious breach of norms with questionable legality. That’s exactly what happened on ABC’s “bona fide news program” The View this week when Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin <a href="https://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/nicholas-fondacaro/2026/07/15/sunny-hostin-joy-behar-rage-lindsey-grahams-sister-senate">clutched their pearls </a>over Darline Graham getting appointed as a South Carolina senator following the death of her brother, Lindsey Graham.
Let’s get the fact-check out of the way early so that we can see just how truly ridiculous and manipulative their outrage was.
The text of the <a href="https://constitution.congress.gov/constitution/amendment-17/">17th Amendment</a> makes it clear that state governors (if allowed by their legislatures) have the authority to appoint temporary senators to fill in and represent the state before a special election for a formal successor:

When vacancies happen in the representation of any State in the Senate, the executive authority of such State shall issue writs of election to fill such vacancies: Provided, That the legislature of any State may empower the executive thereof to make temporary appointments until the people fill the vacancies by election as the legislature may direct.

“I don&#8217;t love it. I don&#8217;t love it,” Hostin proclaimed, even though she was wholly supportive of Vice President Kamala Harris being handpicked to replace President Joe Biden on the Democratic ticket without winning a single primary state.
Ignoring how it’s been common practice by both parties for decades to have relatives appointed to their loved one’s seat upon their death, Behar and Hostin suggested Republicans were being hypocritical and equated Graham to a DEI hire benefitting from nepotism:

HOSTIN: Correct! Correct! It&#8217;s everything that the Republican Party stands against! Everything! Everything! It&#8217;s DEI. Nepotism. All these things thrown in together.

Hostin was particularly upset that Graham was a doctor and suggested that somehow disqualified her from being a senator. “I think the experience does matter. And while she is a certified optician and while she has done great work in that field, I don&#8217;t think that she should be representing the people of South Carolina in the U.S. Senate. I just don&#8217;t,” she proclaimed.

Not including Graham, there were four doctors serving in the U.S. Senate, all of them Republicans: John Barrasso (WY), Rand Paul (KY), Bill Cassidy (LA), and Roger Marshall (KS). There have also been <a href="https://www.senate.gov/senators/PhysiciansintheSenate.htm">54 senators</a> who have either studied and/or practiced medicine throughout the Senate’s history.
Yet, in the same segment, they suggested President Obama was qualified to be a senator since he was a community organizer:

BEHAR: Obama was a community organizer, like that and they gave him a lot of crap for that.
HOSTIN: And he was qualified to be in the Senate.

Behar was appalled by the revelation that Graham was her own person and may not think like her brother: “But we do not know her positions on abortion, foreign policy, or healthcare. &#8230; Just because she&#8217;s your sister doesn&#8217;t mean she agrees with you.”
This would be true for anyone appointed and not just Graham. So, was Behar coming out against the completely constitutional process of temporary appointments?
Additionally, there was no indication that Graham was seeking to run to keep the seat.

Ultimately, this showed that Behar and Hostin were more interested in stoking fear and outrage among their audience than in ensuring that the citizens of South Carolina were properly represented. Then again, Hostin did lash out, claiming something was “fundamentally wrong” with the state because Graham was their first female senator, so she likely didn’t care about their well-being.

With Democrat Nazi Graham Platner’s meteoric rise having succumbed to gravity and crashed into Maine’s North Country due to credible allegations of domestic violence, sexual assault, and sexual misconduct, The View was desperate to balance the scales for negative accusations against conservatives. So, they did what they do best: they relied on made-up garbage and complete revisions of history.
While <a href="https://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/nicholas-fondacaro/2026/07/09/view-defends-dems-dragging-feet-oust-platner-blame-trump-it">defending their Democratic Party for dragging its feet </a>to oust Platner, Joy Behar rehashed on Thursday the long-debunked sexual misconduct allegations against Justice Brett Kavanaugh and falsely claimed they were almost a carbon copy of Platner’s:

BEHAR: But at least the Democrats are dumping him. Whereas, Susan Collins was one of the major votes to put Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court and he also had allegations exactly like this. If I recall correctly. Am I wrong?
HOSTIN: Well, the allegations were a little bit different but they were of a sexual nature.
BEHAR: Exactly.

First, the claims made against Kavanaugh were completely fabricated, and there was not a scintilla of evidence. Accuser Christine Blasey Ford couldn’t even remember when the alleged sexual misconduct happened; the calendars didn’t match her claims (even of the general time frame), everyone she claimed was in the house at the time had no memory of ever attending the party, and her claims shifted over time.
That’s not to mention the asinine accusations from grifter Julie Swetnick, who asserted that a teenage Kavanaugh was running a rape gang, an accusation for which there was no evidence whatsoever.

Elsewhere this week, Whoopi Goldberg, the purported “moderator” of the supposed “bona fide news program,” again <a href="https://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/nicholas-fondacaro/2026/07/08/sunny-hostin-walks-back-support-platner-craves-victory-dems">engaged in electioneering</a>, touting how people should rise up and vote to end President Trump accepting gifts from foreign countries.
But once again, Goldberg <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/only-a-sith-and-whoopi-goldberg-deals-in-absolutes?author=Nicholas+Fondacaro&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=1&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Only+A+Sith+%28And+Whoopi+Goldberg%29+Deals+In+Absolutes">spoke in absolutes</a> and misleadingly framed presidents accepting gifts from foreign countries as an &#8220;abnormal&#8221; practice Trump had made &#8220;normal&#8221;:

No longer can we accept the fact that, you know, no president is allowed to accept from foreign leaders anything, should not be allowed. A 2015 <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2015/12/01/politics/barack-obama-michelle-obama-gifts">CNN article</a> boasted of “The 12 best gifts world leaders gave the Obamas” (The View’s favorite first family), including a “9.5′ white and blue longboard with friendship flags and the Presidential Seal” from Australia, “a jeweled sword from Malaysia,&#8221; and “diamond and emerald jewelry set” from Saudi Arabia for Michelle.
Of course, none of these (including the gifts for Trump) actually go with them when they leave office. Instead, they’re turned over to the National Archive and are often loaned out to a president’s respective library or other museums.
Despite the Federal Communications Commission&#8217;s increased scrutiny of its status as a “bona fide news program,” The View just could not stop lying and spewing misinformation. ABC needs to pay closer attention because they were already sued for defamation once for accusing Trump of sexual crimes he was not found “guilty” of.

The agency head fired back at the network&#8217;s insistence that &#8220;The View&#8221; deserves protection as a legitimate news program, pointing out that co-hosts Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin have brushed aside sexual assault allegations against Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner.

The dispute centers on whether &#8220;The View&#8221; qualifies for an equal-time exemption under a 2002 FCC ruling, or whether the daytime gabfest has morphed into a partisan cudgel masquerading as news. ABC <a href="https://apnews.com/article/abc-view-fcc-equal-time-9c0449a4bf7340afb0c09fe8f466a356">insists</a> nothing about the show has changed — only &#8220;the political climate around it&#8221; — and accuses the Trump administration of trying to muzzle free speech. The network notes that of more than 77,000 public comments submitted, the overwhelming majority support the show.
But the show&#8217;s history of unhinged, one-sided commentary keeps piling up.
Just this month, Hostin baselessly <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/2016-2024-2026-ten-years-of-the-views-election-denial?author=Nicholas+Fondacaro&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=2016%2C+2024%2C+2026%3A+Ten+Years+Of+The+View%E2%80%99s+Election+Denial">suggested</a> Americans have reason to doubt the 2024 election results, while co-host Sara Haines falsely claimed election skepticism only cropped up after Trump returned to office — ignoring years of Democratic doubts dating back to 2000. Hostin went further still, floating a conspiracy theory tying the Minnesota shooting deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti to an alleged scheme to steal the 2026 midterms.
Back in January, Behar <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/joy-behar-says-its-time-to-do-something-about-trump-complains-protests-and-voting-arent-enough?author=Virginia+Kruta&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Joy+Behar+Says+It%E2%80%99s+Time+To+%E2%80%98Do+Something+About+Trump%2C%E2%80%99+Complains+Protests+And+Voting+Aren%E2%80%99t+Enough">declared</a> it was time for Americans to &#8220;step up&#8221; and force Trump out of office, insisting protests and voting weren&#8217;t enough — while warning the president&#8217;s ego could spark World War III. Hostin, not to be outdone, speculated Trump might invade Greenland to seize rare earth minerals.

In May 2025, Goldberg <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/whoopi-goes-full-hillary-on-biden-cover-up-what-difference-at-this-point-does-it-make?author=Virginia+Kruta&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Whoopi+Goes+Full+Hillary+On+Biden+Cover-Up%3A+What+Difference%2C+At+This+Point%2C+Does+It+Make%3F">dismissed</a> mounting evidence of Joe Biden&#8217;s cognitive decline as no big deal, shrugging off a bombshell book from CNN&#8217;s Jake Tapper and Axios&#8217; Alex Thompson by asking why it mattered &#8220;now&#8221; — an echo of Hillary Clinton&#8217;s infamous Benghazi deflection.
And in March 2025, Goldberg <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/whoopi-admits-she-uses-the-view-to-spread-democrat-talking-points?author=Virginia+Kruta&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Whoopi+Admits+She+Uses+%E2%80%98The+View%E2%80%99+To+Spread+Democrat+Talking+Points">all but confessed</a> the show functions as a Democratic mouthpiece, sparring with Stephen A. Smith over the party&#8217;s 2024 wipeout before proudly taking credit for helping spread the party&#8217;s messaging herself.
An FCC spokesperson shot back that ABC should worry less about labels and more about &#8220;complying with its public interest obligations.&#8221;
With Carr&#8217;s FCC digging in and Disney refusing to budge, the fight over whether &#8220;The View&#8221; is news — or just a liberal echo chamber with a studio audience — isn’t over yet.

According to The View’s Sunny Hostin, an American flag is enough to make her feel “unsafe.”

Meanwhile, the new sexual assault allegations against Maine Democratic Senate nominee Graham Platner <a href="https://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/nicholas-fondacaro/2026/07/07/sunny-hostin-doubles-down-support-platner-despite-sexual">weren’t enough to scare her away</a> from fully supporting him.
Hostin clearly has some deep-seated issues about certain neighborhoods and the certain people who live in them, including her own.
Last year, she <a href="https://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/nicholas-fondacaro/2025/10/23/sunny-hostin-fears-her-all-white-neighborhood-will-call-cops">shared her concern</a> that everyone in the “all-white neighborhood” into which she had just moved was secretly racist, and that they were going to call the police to harass her son on his jogs.
“I have had to be in the position where I&#8217;ve gone to my local police department because I know my son is going to be training for the Junior Olympics, running around the neighborhood, in an all-white neighborhood, and I have brought him to the police and said he belongs to me, this is my son. Do not harass him, do not stop him,” she recounted.

Hostin suggested her fear stemmed from her being “a mother of black children.” “I know that black boys are not given the presumption of innocence and the presumption of youth,” she added.
Hostin’s brazen anti-Americanism apparently is supported by ABC News and Disney.
Earlier this year, she admitted that she was &#8220;embarrassed” to be an American and called America a “<a href="https://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/nicholas-fondacaro/2026/06/05/sunny-hostin-embarrassed-america-calls-it-failed-experiment">failed experiment</a>.”

But where did Hostin learn to hate America this much? According to her, she learned from her father, and she’s been fairly open about it.
In reacting to a SCOTUS ruling against Affirmative Action in 2023, <a href="https://x.com/NickFondacaro/status/2074616889523794213?s=20">Hostin shared</a> the corrupting “wisdom” her father taught her: “It&#8217;s been harder for us, and I&#8217;m sorry, people may not agree with that. My father always told me you have to work twice as hard to get half as far in this country and that remains true.”

&#8220;The View&#8221; co-host Sunny Hostin returned to a well-worn theme on Monday: the sight of the Stars and Stripes fills her with dread.
Discussing the viral image of masked Patriot Front marchers riding a Washington Metro train alongside a black woman who sat expressionless nearby, Hostin used the moment to revive her years-old claim that Old Glory has effectively become a white supremacist emblem in parts of the country.
Hostin told viewers, “There are times when I walk into a community and I see American flags all over the community and I suddenly feel unsafe because there is a section of this country that has co-opted the American flag and they equate being an American, or an American flag, with white supremacy.”
She made sure to note this wasn&#8217;t a new position — she&#8217;s held it for roughly a decade on the show.
Naturally, the internet had questions, chief among them: doesn&#8217;t Hostin herself live in one of the whitest, wealthiest zip codes in America? Commentators were quick to point out that her Purchase, New York neighborhood boasts an average income around $800,000 and a population that&#8217;s overwhelmingly white — the kind of demographic makeup that, by her own logic, might warrant suspicion.

This isn&#8217;t Hostin&#8217;s first rodeo with flag-based fearmongering. Back in 2021, she made similar remarks defending an MSNBC analyst who had called American and Trump flags in Long Island &#8220;disturbing.&#8221;
“When someone of color, a black woman, is telling you her feelings, people need to listen and not, you know, repudiate it and not say, ‘Well, that can’t be true,&#8217;” Hostin said at the time. “When I drive into a neighborhood, and it’s not July 4th, and I’m not in a predominantly military household neighborhood and there are flags, American flags, everywhere, alongside Trump flags, alongside flags with stars in a circle, I feel threatened.”
“Because the message is very clear,” she had added. “It’s a message of white supremacy. It’s a message of racism, and it’s a message of their country, not my country. I don’t understand why that would receive backlash. People need to listen when I am saying this is how I feel. This is my experience in this country.”
Co-host Michelle Buteau piled on, questioning what, exactly, the nation has to celebrate at 250 years and arguing that the viral Metro photo validated the experiences minorities face in their daily lives.
Flag anxiety is just the latest entry in Hostin&#8217;s catalogue of grievances. She&#8217;s previously argued that Trump&#8217;s 2025 inauguration on Martin Luther King Day was hypocritical, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/violence-is-justified-sunny-hostin-excuses-ceo-killer-says-this-country-was-built-on-violence">called</a> the assassination of a healthcare CEO a normal byproduct of a nation &#8220;built on violence,&#8221; and — despite learning her own ancestors owned slaves — <a href="https://x.com/NickFondacaro/status/1881741976405516415">maintained</a> she&#8217;s still owed reparations.
In Hostin&#8217;s America, a flag flying on a porch is a five-alarm threat.

A journalist or newsperson knows better than to make absolute, broad, sweeping statements about something they didn’t know about or that was easily disprovable; they would hedge on the existence of an edge case that could embarrass them. But that wasn’t the case with Whoopi Goldberg of “The View,” the moderator for what ABC has claimed to the FCC is a “bona fide news program.” According to Goldberg this week, the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool “never had algae before” President Trump’s renovations, and “nobody” wants voter ID laws.
Amid the liberal media’s obsession with the Reflecting Pool earlier in the week, “The View” took a big gulp from that watering hole. Goldberg’s hyperbole even got support from a gullible audience member:

Obviously, that was patently false. Even the anti-Trump journalists at <a href="https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/the-reflecting-pool-is-about-to-be-drained-again-heres-what-to-know">PBS were able to admit</a> that algae are naturally occurring and Trump’s renovations didn’t play a role. We also know the National Park Service has used hydrogen peroxide to kill algae blooms since 2021, when they switched away from chlorine.

Goldberg beclowned herself later in the week when proclaiming that no one wanted voter ID laws:

It doesn&#8217;t have the votes. So, he&#8217;s trying to push to, and do all kinds of stuff. It just — It&#8217;s ridiculous. It&#8217;s — The bill that would force people to have I.D. when they come to vote, and nobody wants it.

It’s impossible to make the claim “nobody” wants voter ID when poll after poll has shown over 80% bipartisan support for the measure. That’s more than what’s needed for a supermajority vote.
Despite supposedly being a “bona fide news program” under the ABC News umbrella, Goldberg was ignorant of the fact that even her own network gave credence to the fact that it was a popular policy.  “An August 2025 Pew Research Center study found that 83% of the more than 3,500 people surveyed are in favor of requiring voters to show government-issued photo ID at the polls,” <a href="https://abcnews.com/Politics/fact-check-trump-save-america-act-amid-push/story?id=130505183">ABC wrote about the Pew Research Center poll</a>.
That’s not to mention that a majority of states (36) already require voters to present ID.

Nothing about “The View” is a “bona fide news program.” <a href="https://x.com/NickFondacaro/status/1896964078590984451">Goldberg has been very vocal</a> about how their role is to push Democratic Party messaging and anti-Trump fearmongering to the daytime TV audience. She’s even gotten into arguments about it in defense of their work.
A “bona fide news program” is supposed to share facts and tell its audience the truth. As shown here, “The View” does neither. That’s why the <a href="https://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/nicholas-fondacaro/2026/06/23/mrc-leads-charge-strip-view-bona-fide-news-status">Media Research Center is leading the charge</a> to strip “The View” of that status.
“While The View may once have qualified for an exemption, the evidence shows that it has for years operated for political purposes and is therefore not entitled to an exemption from the law. The MRC has the documentation to demonstrate that “The View” is a partisan political operation that advocates for Democrats and their party, against President Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans, and for the political priorities of the left,” MRC President David Bozell wrote in <a href="https://cdn.newsbusters.org/blog_attachment/THE%20VIEW%20Ex%20Parte.pdf-1781899751546.pdf">a public comment filing to the FCC</a>.
The MRC also provided the FCC with “2,473 separate pieces of evidence documenting The View’s pervasive bias and, at times, willful electioneering as exhibits to this comment.”
ABC couldn’t even get the facts right when trying to muster supporters to submit public comments. On June 22, they told viewers they had until July 6 to submit a comment. In actuality, public comment ended that day at the close of business. Only reply comments were allowed to be submitted by July 6.
Despite their own incompetence, ABC and “The View” will likely cry foul if the FCC ignores the comments filed after the deadline.

Vice President J.D. Vance waded into the pit of vipers that is ABC’s &#8220;The View&#8221; on Tuesday. Armed with his wit and the facts, Vance was assailed on all sides by the panel of liberal ladies who slung lies and conspiracy theories at him, and he defused all of it — many times by just asking for evidence or questioning where it came from, and often triggering them.
Almost out of the gate, Vance had to defuse mischaracterizations of President Donald Trump’s comments about the economy and affordability. “President Trump has called affordability a hoax. He said that, not me,” claimed Joy Behar. In one of her many out-of-turn questions, Ana Navarro chided, “He [Trump] just said he loved the inflation.”
“Well, I got to defend the president on the hoax point. What the president said is the idea that Republicans caused the affordability problem is a hoax,” Vance told Behar. To Navarro, he noted: “What he said is that he loves the fact the inflation is going to come down when this war is over. That&#8217;s what he said.”

Interrupting Vance’s answer to a question about the Epstein files, Navarro tried to implicate Trump in the billionaire’s crimes by noting, “They were best friends for a decade.” Vance was still able to get in his fact-check:

It’s worth noting that moderator Whoopi Goldberg had <a href="https://newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/nicholas-fondacaro/2026/02/19/view-has-new-excuses-their-names-epstein-files-whoopis-jet">shifting explanations</a> after a <a href="https://newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/nicholas-fondacaro/2026/02/04/whoopi-goldberg-requested-epstein-jet-fly-her-monaco-charity">NewsBusters investigation </a>of the Epstein files found an email from someone associated with her requesting to borrow his infamous jet.

Continuing to be a spigot of misinformation, Navarro repeatedly clashed with Vance on the issue of illegal immigration.
At one point, when Vance was setting the record straight on the lie that Trump called all Mexicans rapists and noted he was talking about Central American countries releasing criminals to go north, Navarro interrupted to falsely claim “there’s no evidence” and “this was made up.”
“Ana, we know that there were people released from prisons who were encouraged to come to the United States,” Vance pushed back. Navarro actually gave a tacit admission that it was true when she argued, “It wasn&#8217;t like it was in the Mariel [Boatlift] … it wasn’t where it was like a purposeful open up the jails, open up the insane asylums and flood Florida.”
Navarro also threw out the massive whopper, suggesting that the Trump administration was essentially torturing thousands of children:

There are thousands of children, 6,200, that are being held in places like Dilley Detention Center that people that have visited — I don&#8217;t know if you have — talk about the subhuman, infrahuman conditions, the lack of clean water, the lack of medical attention, lack of education.

Of course, she provided no evidence for such a claim, and Vance called out the story as coming from “one person with a political bias.” But when Vance seemingly tried to bring up how the Joe Biden administration lost hundreds of thousands of migrant children, he got shut down by Sunny Hostin.
On Friday’s show, Navarro said that if Trump were on the show, she would treat him the same way and “push back on the lies.”
Arguably one of the most brazen lies came from Goldberg about something that came out of her mouth during the interview.
After insinuating that Vance and the administration were racist and othering minorities, she snapped at Vance and got aggressive for accurately describing what she said:

VANCE: But let me just give you an example. Okay, so you say we’re anti-minority or anti-black —
GOLDBERG: No, I didn&#8217;t say that! I asked. See.
VANCE: Okay, fine. Fair. Fair.
GOLDBERG: Don&#8217;t start any stuff with me, man!

Goldberg’s comment definitely sounded accusatory to an honest listener.
Amid that exchange, when Vance asked her for a specific example of her purported claim of the erasure of black history, all she could do was get flustered and assert, “there’s so many.”

Vice President Vance Assailed On All Sides By The View’s Lies

Vice President JD Vance is a busy man.
For the better part of a week now, almost every major American news channel has had a near-permanent box tucked away in its lower right-hand corner, teasing a forthcoming appearance from the architect of the Trump administration’s Memorandum of Understanding with Iran.
This media blitz has had a Twilight Zone-like feel. The signing of Vance’s accord with the Islamic Republic coincided with the release of &#8220;Communion,&#8221; the VP’s narrative about his journey into the Catholic Church.
For those counting at home, that’s two items to sell: a book about his faith and a high-stakes international agreement with the rogue, theocratic regime whose hands are coated in American blood.
It goes without saying that the wannabe heir to President Donald Trump’s political movement – who opposed Operation Epic Fury at its outset and now must extol its virtues while also celebrating its conclusion – finds himself in an exceedingly difficult, and indeed pivotal, position.
Still, the president saw fit to say it.
“If it works out, I’m going to take the credit. If it doesn’t work out, I’m blaming JD!” declared Trump at his G7 conference presser on Wednesday. “You better be careful, JD!”
Half-joke, half-warning — one wonders if Vance cracked a smile or a knuckle.
With about a year until the 2028 election cycle kicks off in earnest, his performance could prove to be either the shot in the arm his prospective presidential campaign needs or the shot in the head that stops it in its tracks. The results so far have been mixed at best.
First, the good. JD Vance is at his best in enemy territory. Remember, the &#8220;Hillbilly Elegy&#8221; author was widely regarded as a disastrous vice-presidential nominee right up until the moment he killed Governor Tim Walz with a devastating combination of kindness and Yale Law School-honed polish during the pair’s lone debate in October 2024.
Vance was similarly impressive during his appearance on Tuesday’s edition of &#8220;The View,&#8221; where he amiably handled a barrage of questions from not one, not two, not three, but six antagonistic women. With the tone of a particularly patient parent, Vance muddled his way through unfriendly questions about Epstein, race, inflation, immigration policy, and his faith. He quickly disarmed his interlocutors with a joke about their differences. He presented his transformation from Hitler-crying Chicken Little to right-hand man on the not-insignificant subject of Donald J. Trump as an act of humility. He aptly made the case that decency demands the enforcement, not the neglect, of immigration law. Joy Behar came away from the experience so thoroughly charmed that she later revealed she had urged him to run for president during a commercial break.
”I don’t think that he’s a bad guy,” mused Behar, who even went so far as to admit he had a “good vibe.”
It’s no surprise that the interview in which he wasn’t asked about his signature achievement to date was the one he performed best in. Nor should it shock that, when he wants to, he excels at speaking the language of America’s progressive elite class. After all, he cut his teeth playing the “Good Republican,” writing fawning New York Times op-eds about “Barack Obama and Me.”
Despite his humble beginnings and meteoric rise through the rough-and-tumble MAGA political ecosphere, Vance is still the accomplished Yale grad with an intuitive understanding of what appeals to and revolts the average white-collar Democrat; in no small part because he once did — and perhaps still does — share many of their sensibilities.
Where he’s faltered, though, is on the news of the day.
Vance spent an awkward conversation with Megyn Kelly walking the aforementioned tightrope of making the irreconcilable cases that both Epic Fury was a success and that signing the Memorandum of Understanding in its current dismal form was imperative. Ultimately, his own views — which are shared by the increasingly crankish Kelly — came through.
In rebutting the deal’s critics, Vance failed to so much as erect strawmen, opting instead to beat up on loose hay.
“Fundamentally, if you look at what they’re proposing, they’re proposing an endless conflict. They want this to go on until every bomb has been dropped or until every Iranian,” he declared, before begging Kelly to push back on these apparent lunatics “from inside the tent.”
This is how the vice president rewards the supporters of his boss’s most consequential decision of his six years in office? With vile, lazy smears directed at them in an effort to placate a figure who has lobbed the same smears at his own administration?
This is not a man with the requisite judgment to win a fight for the Republican Party’s nomination, much less be trusted with the keys to the White House.
His unpreparedness for the bright lights was even more manifest during a sit-down with CBS’s Norah O’Donnell, who asked him prior to the deal’s formal release, “Why not allow the world to see whatever this deal is you signed with Iran?”
“Yeah, so there are some frankly diplomatic protocols that I don&#8217;t fully understand. The Qataris and the Pakistanis, who have been helpful in mediating this agreement with the Iranians, they&#8217;ve asked us not to release the full text for a little while,” replied Vance. “We&#8217;re actually trying to push them to get it out today because we want to tell the American people what&#8217;s in this deal. It&#8217;s fundamentally a good deal for the American people, but it’s also very simple, and I’ve also seen some misrepresentations about it.”
His claim not to “understand” the “diplomatic protocols” at play was both suspect and of grave concern. The point person for the entire enterprise was unable to wrap his head around the reason for concealing the contents of the agreement from his constituents? It almost came as a relief when the deal leaked and it became clear that he had lied: the administration had been delaying because it knew the reaction to the establishment of a $300 billion war chest for the mullahs, the failure to secure the Strait of Hormuz over the long-term, and the unenforceable demand that Israel lay down its arms in the fight against Hezbollah would be justly apoplectic.
Perhaps the vice president merely misspoke when he characterized the accurate representations of his deal as “misrepresentations.”
Worst of all, though, was an assertion Vance made during a Monday evening conversation with CNN’s Jake Tapper.
“The coolest thing about the progress we’ve made over the last few weeks is that you see people within the Iranian system — senior leadership, even IRGC officials — say, ‘You know what? We may have some animosity, we may have some mistrust. But we recognize the way that we’ve done business with the United States for 47 years is a mistake. Let’s try something else,’” he marveled.
Isn’t it neat what nice things notorious liars will say when their opponent has removed the boot from their neck and extended a $300 billion bag among numerous other concessions?
A contempt for the Democrats’ doe-eyed naivete about the nature of America’s enemies has long been among the right’s unifying organizing principles. Vance would replace it with the rebranded Obama-ism to which he has always subscribed.
In &#8220;Communion,&#8221; Vance frets that his critics will always view his Road to Damascus moment vis-à-vis Trump as “a politically cynical maneuver to gain political power.” By embarking on a mendacious press tour spotlighting the continuities between the Never Trump Vance of yesteryear and the MAGA enforcer of today, he has rendered that fear a self-fulfilling prophecy.
In June 2026, JD Vance won the battle over Trump administration policy, but lost the war for the soul of his party. It makes for a striking parallel to the shooting war America has just forfeited at his behest.
