“Lord of the Rings” filmmaker Peter Jackson said he believes it’s possible to create more <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/the-beatles">Beatles</a> music in the future with the use of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/artificial-intelligence">AI</a> (artificial intelligence) technology. 
“We can take a performance from ‘Get Back,’ separate John and George, and then have Paul and Ringo add a chorus or harmonies. You might end up with a decent <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/music">song</a> but I haven’t had conversations with Paul about that,” Jackson said in a Sunday Times <a href="https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/paul-mccartney-and-ringo-starr-we-never-thought-the-beatles-would-last-58s6gbkqp">interview</a>. “It’s fanboy stuff, but certainly conceivable.”
His comments come just after the release of the song “Now and Then” on November 2. The single was created using the late John Lennon’s voice, which they were able to isolate from previous recordings through the use of technology. 
“Now and Then” came from a demo John Lennon recorded before he was murdered in 1980. Jackson was able to help clean up the track and incorporate the vocals of McCartney and Starr alongside guitar contributions Harrison played in the 1990s.
Jackson also directed the new YouTube documentary “The Beatles — Now And Then — The Last Beatles Song.”
“It felt so wrong to have a Beatles song all to myself,” Jackson told the outlet. “It’s not a classic in the sense of ‘I Am the Walrus’ or ‘Penny Lane’ — it’s not complex like that. It’s simple, but it’s got a haunting quality. Whenever anyone asks why I like the Beatles, I say they make me happy. With the world in the state it is, we need the Beatles to appear again, as if a flying saucer has touched down and they’ve got off and are providing us with their one last song to cheer us up.”

Former Beatles member Paul McCartney dispelled rumors that the new recording was made using AI, however.
“There it was, John’s voice, crystal clear,” McCartney <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-beatles-announce-release-date-for-final-song-now-and-then">said</a>. “It’s quite emotional. And we all play on it, it’s a genuine Beatles recording. In 2023 to still be working on Beatles music, and about to release a new song the public haven’t heard, I think it’s an exciting thing.”
He added, “We cleaned up some existing recordings — a process which has gone on for years.”
McCartney defended the creation of the song in a making-of film released last week, saying his late bandmate would have wanted the song to be made.
“Every time I thought like that I thought, wait a minute, let’s say I had a chance to ask John, ‘Hey John, would you like us to finish this last song of yours?’ I’m telling you, I know the answer would have been, ‘Yeah!’” McCartney said.

Decades after shelving music written and sung by John Lennon, the remaining members of The Beatles announced on Thursday they have a release date for &#8220;Now and Then&#8221; — a song that one of the most influential bands of all time says will be their last.
&#8220;Together and apart, The Beatles have always had a talent for the unexpected,&#8221; the group said in a <a href="https://www.thebeatles.com/announcement" target="_blank" rel="noopener">news release.</a> &#8220;And now, 2023 brings one of the most anticipated releases of their long and endlessly eventful history.&#8221;
On November 2, The Beatles&#8217; final song will be available worldwide digitally and as a double A-side single on 7&#8243; vinyl, 12&#8243; vinyl, and cassette, paired with the iconic group&#8217;s debut single &#8220;Love Me Do&#8221; released in 1962.
The song features vocals from Lennon and electric and acoustic guitar performed by George Harrison, who recorded his tracks six years before he passed away from lung cancer in 2001. Sir Paul McCartney recorded bass, guitar, and piano while Sir Ringo Starr laid down new drum tracks for the 45-year-old song.
McCartney also added a slide guitar solo inspired by Harrison.
According to the news release, Lennon first recorded the demo track with vocals and piano in his home in New York&#8217;s Dakota Building in 1978 — two years before he was fatally shot outside his residence on 72nd Street in the Upper West Side neighborhood of Manhattan.
Nearly 20 years later, his wife, Yoko Ono Lennon, gave the recordings to former bandmates Harrison, McCartney, and Starr.
After recording additional parts and completing a rough mix for the track, the remaining trio of the group put &#8220;Now and Then&#8221; on hold due to technological limitations that prevented separating Lennon&#8217;s vocals and piano to create a clear sound needed for the final cut.
Fast forward to 2022, after new audio software developed for Peter Jackson&#8217;s documentary &#8220;The Beatles: Get Back&#8221; allowed the filmmaker&#8217;s team to isolate instruments and vocals, Jackson and his sound team, led by Emile de la Rey, applied the same technology to Lennon&#8217;s original home recording to preserve the clarity and integrity of his vocals.
&#8220;There it was, John&#8217;s voice, crystal clear,&#8221; McCartney said. &#8220;It&#8217;s quite emotional. And we all play on it, it&#8217;s a genuine Beatles recording. McCartney cleared up some confusion earlier this year about whether The Beatles used artificial intelligence on Lennon&#8217;s posthumous voice after announcing he and Starr were preparing for a pseudo-comeback.
&#8220;We cleaned up some existing recordings — a process which has gone on for years,&#8221; he <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/paul-mccartney-clears-up-ai-rumors-surrounding-upcoming-beatles-record" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in part, debunking the greatly exaggerated rumors that audio engineers artificially or synthetically altered Lennon&#8217;s voice for the record.
&#8220;It was the closest we&#8217;ll ever come to having him back in the room, so it was very emotional for all of us,&#8221; Starr said in the latest news release. &#8220;It was like John was there, you know. It&#8217;s far out.&#8221;
Since the 1960s, the English rock group from Liverpool has shaped the counterculture movement for popular music as an art form. Throughout their career, the Beatles&#8217; main catalog between 1962 and 1970 consisted of 12 studio albums with over 200 mostly original songs.
With McCartney, 81, and Starr, 83, claiming &#8220;Now and Then&#8221; marks their last record ever, the announcement signals the end of an era for rock and roll music fans everywhere.
Following the release of &#8220;Now and Then&#8221; and &#8220;Love Me Do,&#8221; the Beatles&#8217; said a music video for the title track will debut on November 3.
One week later, the band will release expanded reissues of 1962-1966 (The Red Album) and 1967-1970 (The Blue Album) with the addition of their final song.

Paul McCartney complained that <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/music">performers</a> are expected to put on hours-long shows due to the influence of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/bruce-springsteen">Bruce Springsteen</a>.
The former Beatles band member explained that before “The Boss” came along, crowds were fine with major <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/music-industry">musical acts</a> appearing for much shorter periods. 
&#8220;These days it’s pretty much the main act and there might be a warm up act,&#8221; McCartney told late night host Conan O’Brien during an interview for his &#8220;Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend&#8221; <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/paul-mccartney-blames-bruce-springsteen-performers-long-shows-your-fault">podcast</a>. The British star said back when the Beatles were popular, bands never played for that long because one show featured so many other major acts.
&#8220;Now, people do three, four hours. I blame Bruce Springsteen. I’ve told him so. I’ve said, ‘It’s your fault,’&#8221; the 81-year-old songwriter continued. &#8220;You can’t now do an hour. We used to do a half hour. That was like the Beatles&#8217; thing. Half an hour, and we got paid for it.&#8221;
“He ruined it for everyone,” O’Brien agreed.
McCartney went on to say that back in those days, playing for 30 minutes was considered extensive. 
He said promoters would ask, &#8220;‘How long can you do? Four minutes? Can you do four minutes?&#8217; And the guy would say, ‘Yeah,’ so they would do four. So, we thought, ‘Half an hour, that’s like epic.’”
&#8220;But that was it,” McCartney told O’Brien. “Big Beatles show. We were on and off like that. It didn’t seem strange.&#8221;

Springsteen previously told O’Brien he accidentally set the precedent of playing for a long time and felt he had to keep it up.
The “Born in the USA” composer said he &#8220;screwed the whole thing up by playing too f***ing long&#8221; during a 2020 interview with O’Brien, saying he was now forced to keep it up because fans expect it. “Now I have to do it,” he said. 
McCartney also <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/paul-mccartney-blames-bruce-springsteen-performers-long-shows-your-fault">said</a> he considered quitting the music business after the Beatles broke up in 1970.
&#8220;The main question I had was whether to keep going after the Beatles because it was a hard act — some might say, an impossible act — to follow,&#8221; the musician said in his newsletter. &#8220;There’s a couple of times in life when you are forced into taking a risk. After the Beatles, this was my situation: ‘Do I keep going with music, or not?’&#8221; he said. &#8220;The risk paid off.&#8221;

Sir Paul McCartney cleared up some confusion on Thursday about whether The Beatles will use artificial intelligence on John Lennon&#8217;s post-humous voice for the iconic band&#8217;s &#8220;final record&#8221; scheduled for release later this year.
Last week, McCartney <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/after-over-50-years-the-beatles-will-release-their-last-record" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> the band was preparing for a comeback, despite the fact that just he and the band&#8217;s drummer Ringo Starr are the only two members who remain living. Lennon was murdered at the age of 40 in December 1980, and George Harrison died of cancer at the age of 58 in 2001.
But McCartney revealed he would use artificial intelligence to &#8220;extricate&#8221; Lennon&#8217;s voice from an old demo to create the group&#8217;s purported final record, believed to be &#8220;Now And Then.&#8221;
&#8220;Been great to see such an exciting response to our forthcoming Beatles project,&#8221; McCartney <a href="https://twitter.com/PaulMcCartney/status/1671880812080549890" target="_blank" rel="noopener">tweeted</a>. &#8220;No one is more excited than us to be sharing something with you later in the year. We&#8217;ve seen some confusion and speculation about it. Seems to be a lot of guess work out there. Can&#8217;t say too much at this stage but to be clear, nothing has been artificially or synthetically created. It&#8217;s all real and we all play on it. We cleaned up some existing recordings — a process which has gone on for years.&#8221;
&#8220;We hope you love it as much as we do. More news in due course — Paul,&#8221; he added.
Speaking to Radio 4&#8217;s Today program, McCartney explained that producer Jeff Lynne, who had released songs recorded by Lennon in the mid-90s, including &#8220;Free As A Bird&#8221; and &#8220;Real Love,&#8221; had also tried to clean up &#8220;Now And Then&#8221; but had a hard time cleaning up the song, but AI allowed McCartney to revive Lennon&#8217;s voice.
McCartney explained that director Peter Jackson, who used AI to clean up the audio for the &#8220;Get Back&#8221; documentary, was able to &#8220;extricate&#8221; John&#8217;s voice from a ropey little bit of cassette.
&#8220;We had John&#8217;s voice and a piano, and he could separate them with AI,&#8221; he said. &#8220;They tell the machine, &#8216;That&#8217;s the voice. This is a guitar. Lose the guitar.'&#8221;
&#8220;So when we came to make what will be the last Beatles&#8217; record, it was a demo that John had; we were able to take John&#8217;s voice and get it pure through this AI,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;Then we can mix the record, as you would normally do. So it gives you some sort of leeway.&#8221;
McCartney appeared on the radio show to promote his new book &#8220;1964: Eyes of the Storm, Photographs and Reflections by Paul McCartney.&#8221;
It remains unclear when the &#8220;final record&#8221; from The Beatles will be released.

The Beatles’ final incarnation, with Lennon, McCartney, Harrison, and drummer Ringo Starr, was formed in 1962. Prior to that, Lennon had founded a group called The Quarrymen including Lennon, McCartney, Harrison, and bassist Stuart Sutcliffe; the group used several drummers before ultimately settling on Starr.
Producer George Martin helped them get signed by EMI Records and their first major hit, “Love Me Do,” was released in late 1962. Their film debut came in 1964’s “A Hard Day’s Night.” They retired from live performances in 1966 but kept recording albums such as “Rubber Soul,” “Revolver,” and &#8220;Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.&#8221;
In 1968, they founded Apple Corps, a multimedia corporation that still oversees the groups’ projects. The group broke up in 1970. They are the best-selling music act of all time, with estimated sales of 600 million units.
