Michael Cline, founder of the popular movie ticketing service Fandango, has died from an apparent <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/suicide">suicide</a> after falling from a luxury <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/new-york-city">New York City</a> hotel on Tuesday morning.
Cline, 64, reportedly jumped from the 20th floor of the Kimberly Hotel. 
“Upon arrival, officers found an unconscious and unresponsive male with injuries indicative of a fall from an elevated position. The investigation remains ongoing,” NYPD said in a statement, per <a href="https://variety.com/2024/film/news/j-michael-cline-dead-fandango-founder-jumped-off-hotel-1236076223/">Variety.</a>
Law enforcement listed Cline’s address as being in Palm Beach, Florida, noting that he had purchased the property there in 2020 for $21 million. He is survived by a wife and six children, <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/07/17/us-news/jumper-who-leaped-to-death-from-luxury-nyc-high-rise-identified-as-fandango-founder-sources/">per</a> The New York Post. The outlet also reported that Cline left a suicide note.
His death came as a shock to his friends and family and occurred just days after he underwent gallbladder surgery, sources said.
Cline founded Fandango with Art Levitt in 2000 and remained with the company until 2011. Fandango partnered with seven major movie theater chains, including Loews Cineplex Entertainment, Regal Cinemas, Carmike Cinemas, Cinemark Theaters, General Cinema Theaters, Edwards Theatres, and Century Theatres, to create an online service that made advance ticket sales easier.
“A Fandango is fast and fun. Fandango is the perfect match to a service designed to make going to the movies easier and more enjoyable than ever before,” Cline told Variety when the site launched. The exec also called it “an instantly recognizable and distinctive name that sets us apart in our industry.” 
Fandango was one of three major online advance movie ticket sale sites, along with MovieTickets.com and Atom Tickets. The company bought MovieTickets.com in 2017.
Fandango was acquired and expanded several times over the years, starting with an acquisition by Comcast in 2007. 
The outlet noted that Cline went on to head up other tech and venture capital firms after leaving Fandango, including hedge fund Bridgewater Associates. He also founded Accumen, Insureon, and Accolade through his Accretive company. These entities also invested in Fandango.
Cline graduated from Cornell University and earned an MBA from Harvard University. A recent Fordham University article described him as a “serial entrepreneur” who encouraged students to “work with people you trust.”

Murray, who won the 2017 Barbasol Championship and the Sony Open earlier this year, battled anxiety, depression, and alcohol abuse early throughout his young career before taking his own life on Saturday. The pro-golfer from North Carolina said in January that he had been sober since early 2023. Murray was a standout golfer from a young age, becoming the second-youngest golfer to make the cut on the Korn Ferry Tour at just 16 years old.
Higgs made the remarks after winning a playoff at the Visit Knoxville Open on Sunday.
&#8220;I just have a message, so forgive me if things get a little deep,&#8221; Higgs said. &#8220;We lost yesterday morning one of our own. I don’t know if you guys heard the news, but somebody who went through a lot of difficult things, somebody who was open and honest about it, and I thought last night – I didn’t sleep worth a darn, and I’m really good at sleeping.&#8221;
&#8220;I thought about this moment and how to maybe remember Grayson, and it just kind of dawned on me that everybody here – one, thank you so much for receiving me and congratulating me and cheering me on throughout. But this golf stuff and the result, it’s lovely, sure. But it’s just not that meaningful,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;One thing that I thought of last night, especially laying in bed, is I would challenge everybody here – and I’m going to do this myself as well – each day, say something nice to someone you love. And also, make it a point to say something nice to somebody you do not even know.&#8221;
&#8220;The world is a very difficult place, and only getting more difficult,&#8221; Higgs added. &#8220;I’ve been blessed with great parents and a great support system, and I haven’t had – other than some frustration at times – any battles mentally. But Lord knows how many people do, and it’s only ever increasing.&#8221;
He said that each person possesses the power to make a meaningful impact on someone that could change the course of their life.

The pro-golfer from North Carolina said in January that he had been sober since early 2023. &#8220;We have spent the last 24 hours trying to come to terms with the fact that our son is gone,&#8221; said Murray&#8217;s parents, Eric and Terry. &#8220;It&#8217;s surreal that we not only have to admit it to ourselves, but that we also have to acknowledge it to the world. It&#8217;s a nightmare.&#8221;
His parents said that he was loved by everyone in his life from family to friends to other golfers to fans.
&#8220;Life wasn&#8217;t always easy for Grayson, and although he took his own life, we know he rests peacefully now,&#8221; the statement said. &#8220;Please respect our privacy as we work through this incredible tragedy, and please honor Grayson by being kind to one another. If that becomes his legacy, we could ask for nothing else.&#8221;
Murray’s death was announced on CBS’ broadcast of the Charles Schwab Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas, with CBS commentator Jim Nantz saying that the PGA Tour offered to Murray’s family to “stop play.”
“The family was, again, adamant that Grayson — and the family — wants the tournament to go on,” Nantz said. “Grayson Murray gone way too soon at the age of 30. It’s a sad day on the PGA Tour.”
After he got sober last year, Murray said his faith and his fiancee helped him battle through.
“It took me a long time to get to this point,” he <a href="https://www.pgatour.com/article/news/latest/2024/01/14/how-grayson-murray-reclaimed-his-life-to-win-sony-open-in-honolulu-hawaii-waialae-country-club" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in January. “… I’m a different man now. I would not be in this position right now today if I didn’t put that drink down eight months ago.”
“People who don’t know me, I’ll have to show it through my actions, and they’ll get back on Grayson’s side,” he added. “My demeanor is so much better. It’s really a lot of fun now. I really don’t live and die by a golf shot anymore. I’m not going to sit here and say it’s going to be all glory and roses, but it’s going to be a lot better.”

Tragic Cause Of Death Revealed For 30-Year-Old PGA Golfer Grayson Murray

A study published last month shows that those who underwent gender surgery had a suicide risk 12 times higher than those who did not, adding more data showing the dangers of the life-altering procedures.
The <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC11063965/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">study</a> utilized patient data from 56 health care organizations in the U.S. and over 90 million patients. Four different groups of patients were looked at in the study, including 1,501 people aged 18-60 who had &#8220;gender-affirming surgery&#8221; and an emergency visit (cohort A) and 15,608,363 adults who visited the emergency room but had no &#8220;gender-affirming surgery&#8221; (cohort B). The third group (cohort C) included 142,093 &#8220;adults with emergency visits, tubal ligation or vasectomy, but no gender-affirming surgery,&#8221; while a fourth group of patients with pharyngitis (cohort D) was studied &#8220;to validate the results from cohort C.&#8221;
&#8220;Data from February 4, 2003, to February 4, 2023, were analyzed to examine suicide attempts, death, self-harm, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) within five years of the index event,&#8221; the study said, adding that its results found that &#8220;Individuals who underwent gender-affirming surgery had a 12.12-fold higher suicide attempt risk than those who did not.&#8221;
The study concluded, &#8220;Gender-affirming surgery is significantly associated with elevated suicide attempt risks, underlining the necessity for comprehensive post-procedure psychiatric support.&#8221;
The study&#8217;s findings fly in the face of the argument from those espousing radical gender theory, including the Biden administration, who <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2023/03/31/fact-sheet-white-house-honors-transgender-day-of-visibility/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">claim</a> that &#8220;gender-affirming care&#8221; prevents suicide attempts among those who identify as transgender.
DailyWire+ host Dr. Jordan B. Peterson blasted both President Joe Biden and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau following the release of the study&#8217;s results as both countries have yet to take any action to curb the dangerous effects of gender procedures, especially on children.

The wife of a South Carolina pastor who warned her sister he may shoot her died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, a medical examiner has ruled.
Mica Miller, 30, made various claims of harassment and abuse in the weeks and months before she was found with a gunshot wound to the head on April 27. One of those claims, according to her sister, Sierra Francis, was that Miller’s husband, John-Paul, was to blame if she was found with a fatal head wound, The Christian Post <a href="https://www.christianpost.com/news/mica-miller-said-her-husband-would-shoot-her-sister-claims.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
Francis made the claim in <a href="https://twitter.com/Protestia/status/1787319801825673723" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a sworn affidavit</a> as part of her bid to serve as special administrator for Miller’s estate. Francis also said in the affidavit that Miller had served her husband divorce papers just two days before her death.
“My sister also expressed to me that she was fearful that she would not make it to the divorce and that her life would be taken from her. It is my belief, based on conversations with my sister, that she told multiple people, including other family members,” Francis said in the affidavit.
“Mica stated to me on many occasions ‘if I end up with a bullet in my head, it was not by me, it was JP.’ Mica forwarded a family group text message notifying us that Mr. Miller was served the divorce papers on April 25, 2024,” Francis added. “On April 27, 2024, my sister, Mica A. Miller, was found dead as a result of a gunshot wound in Lumberton, North Carolina.”
ABC 15 <a href="https://wpde.com/news/local/mica-miller-john-paul-pastor-jp-wife-solid-rock-church-new-reports-car-theft-grooming-marriage-divorce-suicide-myrtle-beach-robeson-county-lumber-river-state-park-mental-health-episodes-hospitalized-south-carolina" target="_blank" rel="noopener">requested</a> reports from the Myrtle Beach Police Department listing Miller as a victim and received one. It also received another report listing her as the offender.
In the first report, Miller claimed John-Paul stole her car while she was “involuntarily hospitalized” between February 8 and 10. When she was released, she was told her husband had picked up her keys and purse from the hospital. She returned to the parking lot where she had left her car prior to her hospitalization and discovered it wasn’t there, so she reported it missing and accused her husband of stealing it, saying they had been separated since January 2023.
Police contacted John-Paul, who said he and his wife weren’t legally separated and that he had her car but that it was marital property. He also told police that his wife “suffers from mental health disorders” and would have yearly “episodes” around Christmas, causing her to become &#8220;reckless&#8221; and spend &#8220;large amounts of money when she stops taking her prescribed medication.&#8221; He told police he wouldn’t return the car for another month, which is how long the “reckless episodes” usually lasted.
Police determined that no criminal offense had been committed since the couple was legally married.
In the second police report tied to Miller, an employee of the Solid Rock Church, where John-Paul was a pastor at the time, accused Miller of stealing donations totaling $1,199 from the church’s 501C3. The police report indicates an investigation would follow the complaint, but it is not clear if that happened.
Miller also <a href="https://www.youtube.com/shorts/nTUsZjo9ulc" target="_blank" rel="noopener">made claims</a> about being harassed prior to her death, according to ABC 15.
Ultimately, Miller took her own life. Police on Tuesday revealed that John-Paul was at an athletic event during the time of Miller’s death, and surveillance footage showed her purchasing a 9mm handgun that same morning, Fox News <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/us/mica-miller-911-call-reveals-final-moments-before-her-death-nc-authorities-challenge-conspiracy-theories" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
On a 911 call released this week, Miller can be heard asking a 911 dispatcher if they could track her location.
&#8220;I&#8217;m about to kill myself, and I just want my family to know where to find me,&#8221; Miller told the dispatcher.

I want to assure everyone that a very methodical investigation was conducted by our Criminal Investigations Team and Crime Scene Investigative Team,&#8221; Sheriff Burnis Wilkins said in a statement Tuesday, according to Fox. &#8220;Unfortunately, rumors and conspiracy theories were spreading quickly, and assumptions were being made.”
&#8220;However, in the end, we must make decisions based on the facts and evidence that has been gathered,” Wilkins added. “While I know it’s not what many people wanted to hear, the evidence is quite clear and compelling, and we are as saddened as anyone that this occurred. There are many factors that we have reviewed that occurred over an extended period of time that are probably related to the reason for this investigation, but in the end, sadly, a tragic decision was made by Mica that ended her life.&#8221;

The ex-Washington police officer who went on the lam Monday after allegedly killing his ex-wife and teenage girlfriend has shot himself while fleeing from law enforcement.
Elias Huizar, 40, was discovered near Eugene, Oregon, after the Oregon State Patrol located his vehicle driving southbound on I-5, the West Richland Police Department <a href="https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=747956870783789&amp;set=a.213965484182933" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> on Facebook. Police pursued the vehicle, and Huizar got into a minor crash, CBS News <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/elias-huizar-manhunt-two-women-dead-child-abduction-washington-state-police/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
Huizar and police exchanged gunfire before he was able to drive away again, with no one hurt. Huizar then crashed into another vehicle several miles away and was found dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, Oregon State Police Cpt. Kyle Kennedy announced Tuesday night, according to CBS.
After allegedly killing his ex-wife and teenage girlfriend, Huizar abducted his 1-year-old son, Roman, who was taken into custody by state troopers and is reportedly safe.
The murders and abduction occurred on the day that Huizar was due in court to face allegations that he raped a 16-year-old girl, the New York Post <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/04/23/us-news/armed-ex-cop-accused-of-killing-his-ex-wife-girlfriend-is-on-the-run-after-being-due-in-court-for-rape/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
Huizar <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ex-cop-on-the-run-after-allegedly-killing-ex-wife-girlfriend-and-abducting-son-on-day-he-faced-child-rape-charges" target="_blank" rel="noopener">allegedly</a> shot his ex-wife Amber Rodriquez at the William Wiley Elementary School, where she is listed as a paraeducator, on Monday afternoon. Last Friday, Rodriguez filed documents for a change in custody for the two sons she shares with Huizar, who are 5 and 9 years old, the Herald reported. It is unclear where those kids are at this time. The couple divorced in 2020.
The school went into lockdown. A resident who lives near the school told the Herald that he heard everything from his backyard, including 4-5 gunshots.
“I thought it was someone hitting something with a hammer. It didn’t sound like a gun. Then a woman came flying out here before the cops even got here and started screaming that someone was shot…” the resident told the outlet.

The shooting occurred as school was being let out and students were getting onto buses or picked up by their parents. The Herald reported that parents abandoned their cars in the parking lot to flee as police officers began searching for Huizar.
Hours after the shooting, police searched Huizar’s home and found the body of another person, <a href="https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=747439727502170&amp;set=a.213965484182933" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to</a> the West Richland Police Department. While the police declined to identify the second victim except to say they were an associate of Huizar, the Amber Alert released by police suggests that the second victim is Huizar’s teenage girlfriend.
Huizar was also being investigated for allegedly raping a teenage friend of his girlfriend. Police were also investigating the legality of his relationship with his girlfriend. The age of consent in Washington is 16, and Huizar’s girlfriend is alleged to have been 16.

More information has been revealed on the death of Nex Benedict, the 16-year-old girl whose death was exploited by the media to pretend anti-trans bigotry led to her death.
Originally, the media suggested she was gender non-binary. They claimed she was abused by other students at her high school, beaten up in a bathroom, and then died due to injuries from the fight.
It turns out, not one element of that was true. It turns out, Benedict started the fight in the bathroom. It turns out, Benedict had returned to her normal state of health after that fight.
And it turns out, Benedict committed suicide. So every major element of the mainstream media’s report was false.
New details have now come to light about the life of Nex Benedict, which demonstrate as per usual, when young people commit suicide, it is not because society is mean to them due to their gender non-binary status; it is largely because there are extreme mental health co-morbidities with that identification.

That is particularly true in this case — a tragic, horrifying case. As RedState <a href="https://redstate.com/chad-felix-greene/2024/03/27/nex-benedict-n2172000" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>:
<blockquote>Now that we have the full autopsy report for Dagney (Nex) Benedict, many of the questions surrounding her overdose have been answered. The full report, released by the Chief Medical Officer and Board of Medicolegal Investigations on March 27th, 2024, confirms what the earlier Medical Examiner’s Office reported on March 13th, 2024. There were “massive” amounts of Diphenhydramine, more commonly known over the counter as Benadryl,” in Dagney’s blood.
Dr. Paul Wax, the Executive Director of the American College of Toxicology, reviewed the results and confirmed she could have consumed 50 to 100 pills to reach that toxicity level. Her routine medication, fluoxetine, for bipolar disorder was present and may have contributed, a second authority concluded. Her death was intentionally self-inflicted.
The report indicated, “The 11 pages released indicate handwritten notes ‘suggestive of self-harm’ were found in Nex&#8217;s room by family members, and that the teen has a history of ‘bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, self-harm (cutting).’
While advocacy groups remain insistent that her distress sourced from bullying at school, Dagney did not indicate this in her last notes. The Owasso Police Department released a statement saying, “Although the notes do not make any reference to the earlier fight or difficulties at school, the parents indicated that Benedict reported being picked upon for various reasons while at school.”
As is usual in these cases, there is much more to the story. A hint was provided by the Washington Post on February 21st, 2024, that never made it beyond that report. Describing Dagney’s funeral, the article states that Dagney&#8217;s cousin spoke “along with her mother and Benedict. Nex’s biological mother was among the mourners; their father, who is in prison for abuse, was not.” </blockquote>
So where was Dad? What happened to the father? RedState continues the story, saying:
<blockquote>On July 17th, 2019, when Dagney was 11 years old, an arrest warrant was issued for James Everette Hughes, Dagney’s father. He was arrested on July 31st, 2019, in Sebastian County, AR. The charge was for rape of a minor under the age of 14, during the time period between May 2017 and August 2017, when Dagney was nine years old. Among many witnesses was Sue Benedict, the grandmother who would adopt Dagney in 2019. 
Hughes would accept a plea deal to sexual assault in the second degree on November 27th, 2019. He was sentenced to five years in prison with ten years suspended. He would be placed on the sex offender list and have no contact with his daughter. He was arrested again on January 25th, 2024, by the Little Rock Police Department for failing to comply with reporting as a sex offender.</blockquote>
That was two weeks before Dagney took her own life. The details of the rest of this story are difficult to read.
<blockquote>Hughes’ new case, in Pulaski County, AR, 60CR-24-894: State v. James Everette Hughes, was filed on March 5th, 2024 for the offense of failing to register as a sex offender or report address change. … Case details are difficult to read, and the following information is graphic. In the report, Dagney, age 11, would tell investigators her father anally raped her when she was nine years old. She reported he had molested her for years prior.</blockquote>
This is obviously a story of horrific physical sexual abuse of a child by her own father that resulted in confusion, mental illness, and problems that deserve nothing but sympathy.
But the media treated this as a case of conservative anti-trans bigotry, which is insane, sick, and wrong. Will the media walk any of what they did back here?
Of course not because their original story backs their particular narrative. That particular narrative is that America is a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad place.
And their proof of that is that Nex Benedict, a young girl, committed suicide and that she must have done so because society was too mean to her — as opposed to the very specific circumstances of what appears to be a deeply tragic life.

Leftists have been quick to cheer the suicide of a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/man-lights-self-on-fire-in-front-of-israeli-embassy-in-d-c" target="_blank" rel="noopener">25-year-old</a> man named Aaron Bushnell, who lit himself on fire and said he was protesting Israel&#8217;s &#8220;genocide&#8221; in the Gaza Strip, though no such genocide is happening.
Bushnell, a U.S. Air Force member and radical anarchist, set himself on fire in front of the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C., on Sunday, while shouting &#8220;Free Palestine.&#8221; Hours later, Bushnell succumbed to his injuries.
In the days following the shocking act of self-immolation, numerous politicos on the Left praised Bushnell and his self-violence.

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders sounded off on the incident, too, largely by condemning Israel. &#8220;It&#8217;s obviously a terrible tragedy, but I think it speaks to the depths of despair that so many people are feeling now about the horrific humanitarian disaster taking place in Gaza, and I share those deep concerns,&#8221; the senator said, <a href="https://www.newsweek.com/bernie-sanders-breaks-silence-aaron-bushnell-self-immolation-1873586" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to Newsweek. &#8220;Children are starving. Bushnell was reportedly a self-described anarchist and spoke to a friend, another anarchist, shortly before he decided to kill himself. &#8220;I hope you’ll understand I love you,&#8221; Bushnell said, <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2024/02/26/israeli-embassy-airman-fire-death-gaza/">according</a> to The Washington Post. &#8220;This doesn’t even make sense but I feel like I&#8217;m going to miss you.&#8221;
Bushnell also reportedly sent his will and testament to another friend, gave his cat to a neighbor, and emailed numerous far-left sites and groups before he killed himself.
In a letter to left-wing CrimethInc., Bushnell identified himself using &#8220;he/him&#8221; pronouns, writing in part: &#8220;Today, I am planning to engage in an extreme act of protest against the genocide of the Palestinian people. The below links should take you to a livestream and recorded footage of the event, which will be highly disturbing. I ask that you make sure that the footage is preserved and reported on.&#8221;
CrimethInc. said the Twitch account <a href="https://www.facebook.com/aaron.bushnell.94/posts/pfbid02dksjbfd5JH96wUPcv4zvhW8k6tnqkRkPas7BrWM2GJqPdd7pfvFiqj2QewoH35ozl">displayed</a> the username “LillyAnarKitty&#8221; and the corresponding icon was that of an &#8220;A&#8221; with a circle around it, a symbol of anarchism.

Bushnell also reportedly followed radical groups on Facebook and was praised by a radical group called &#8220;<a href="https://www.instagram.com/servethepeopleakron/?hl=en&amp;img_index=2" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Serve the People Akron</a>.&#8221; The group &#8212; which describes itself as a &#8220;Queer revolutionary organization doing mutual aid with poor &amp; oppressed people in Akron, Ohio&#8221; &#8212; said Bushnell was a member, captioning two photos of the 25-year-old.
&#8220;Yesterday Aaron Bushnell self-immolated in front of the Israeli Embassy in Washington DC in protest of the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people,&#8221; Serve the People said.
&#8220;Aaron was a valued member of our organization and the community who immediately jumped in to help the unhoused and any project that came up. He was dependable and [persistent] with the mutual aid work he did in a city that was still new to him. We will be forever grateful for the effort he put in to make Akron a better place,&#8221; the post continued. &#8220;We are all still devastated to learn of his passing but we do not want his actions to go in vain. Please continue your education, advocacy, and support for the Palestinian people.&#8221;

Hormonal contraceptive, a.k.a &#8220;the pill,&#8221; is extremely <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/products/databriefs/db327.htm#section_4" target="_blank" rel="noopener">common</a> among women and <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/US/safe-medicine-younger-girls-starting-birth-control/story?id=14116032#:~:text=Today%2C%20one%20in%20five%20American,is%20getting%20younger%20and%20younger.">girls</a>, and is sometimes even recommended for youths for something as benign as acne. However, side effects from the pill are hardly talked about, though some women in recent years have spoken out about <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/01/30/young-women-abandoning-birth-control-pills-for-mental-health/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ditching the pill</a> following such side effects.

Mark Epstein, the brother of convicted child sex predator <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/jeffrey-epstein" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jeffrey Epstein</a>, shared photographs of his brother&#8217;s body after he was found dead in his jail cell in August 2019 that he says raise questions over what really led to his death.
Mark Epstein made the remarks during an interview that aired on Friday with SiriusXM host Megyn Kelly more than four years after his brother&#8217;s death.
New York City&#8217;s Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Barbara Sampson ruled in August 2019 that Jeffrey Epstein&#8217;s cause of death was <a href="https://apnews.com/article/a947e0d85d31496eb5bd9ff4994c9718">suicide by hanging</a>. A forensic pathologist hired by Epstein&#8217;s family has pushed back on that conclusion, saying some of the evidence supports homicide. Sampson has publicly refuted that claim, saying she stands &#8220;<a href="https://apnews.com/general-news-0535243c19af4077a2081c6894d1a236">firmly</a>&#8221; behind her findings.
Mark Epstein said that he initially had no reason to doubt the official cause of death given by Sampson.
“I had no reason to doubt it,” Mark Epstein said. “He didn’t have any children. Our parents are gone. He would know he didn’t have to worry about me. … so, I respected that as his decision.”
Mark Epstein said that when he met with medical examiners in New York City, they told him that they could not call it a suicide &#8220;because it looked too much like a homicide.&#8221;
He continued, &#8220;So, then the questions became if he didn’t commit suicide, then he was killed, and then who killed him? How was it done?”

Mark Epstein then shared autopsy photos of his brother that showed the injury he suffered to his neck, which looked like a wire or thin rope was used to strangle him.
“I have a hard time, as a layperson, understanding how a sheet made that mark,” Kelly said after seeing the photo. “It’s almost like garrote was used or some sort of rope wire.”

Four current and former <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/los-angeles" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Los Angeles Sheriff&#8217;s Department</a> employees have died by suicide over 24 hours in a shocking tragedy that has rocked the city&#8217;s law enforcement community.
Three current employees and one former employee died by suicide in a 24-hour span that began on Monday.
The first death was of Commander Darren Harris, who had served as the sheriff&#8217;s department&#8217;s chief spokesperson during his 25-year career. Harris was reportedly found dead in his Santa Clarita home Monday morning with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the Los Angeles Times <a href="https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2023-11-07/four-current-and-former-l-a-sheriffs-department-employees-died-of-suicide-in-a-24-hour-span" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
Later on Monday afternoon, authorities found the body of Sergeant Greg Hovland at his Quartz Hill home. Another employee was found dead just after sunset at a home in Stevenson Ranch. The next day, around 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, a fourth sheriff&#8217;s department employee was reported dead by suicide at a Pomona hospital. Sheriff’s homicide detectives responded to the scene.
Already this year, four other sheriff&#8217;s department employees had died by suicide, an agency spokesperson <a href="https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2023-11-07/four-current-and-former-l-a-sheriffs-department-employees-died-of-suicide-in-a-24-hour-span" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>.
Sheriff Robert Luna said the department’s Homicide Bureau would investigate the deaths and urged deputies to check on each other in the wake of the deaths.
“We are stunned to learn of these deaths, and it has sent shock waves of emotions throughout the department as we try and cope with the loss of not just one, but four beloved active and retired members of our department family,” Luna <a href="https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2023-11-07/four-current-and-former-l-a-sheriffs-department-employees-died-of-suicide-in-a-24-hour-span" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> Tuesday in a statement.
“During trying times like these it’s important for personnel regardless of rank or position to check on the well-being of other colleagues and friends,” the sheriff said.

Luna said the department is “urgently exploring avenues to reduce work stress factors to support our employees’ work and personal lives.” The sheriff added that the department’s Psychological Services Bureau and the Injury and Health Support Unit is working to provide counseling and other resources to the families of the officers.
Since the pandemic, many in law enforcement <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/a-police-hiring-crisis-is-gripping-u-s-cities-and-towns" target="_blank" rel="noopener">say</a> police departments have been suffering from flagging morale thanks to a wave of anti-police sentiment that peaked with the police killing of George Floyd in 2020. In some cases, city councils slashed police budgets, leaving some police chiefs feeling abandoned as they are stretched thin trying to keep residents safe.
Many police departments have also seen a mass exodus of officers over the last several years, along with difficulty hiring new officers.

Four Los Angeles Sheriff Employees Die By Suicide Within 24 Hours

A <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/georgia">Georgia</a> man died after he shot himself just before police were able to question him about four escaped inmates who remain on the run, according to law enforcement.
Christian Demond Williams, 23, died Tuesday morning at a hospital in Macon, Georgia, the Associated Press <a href="https://apnews.com/article/georgia-jail-escapees-investigation-man-dies-c9ad785d905a4dc7ec6c1e0b0f775d0f" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>, citing Bibb County deputies. Williams is said to have shot himself after the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrived at an apartment in Macon to question him about the four escaped inmates.
Investigators received a tip that Williams had information about the escapees, and when they arrived at the apartment, a bullet fired through the door of the apartment, authorities said. A SWAT team was called, and a woman inside the apartment told officers that Williams had shot himself, and showed authorities where he was. Williams was wounded, but still alive, and was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where he died.
No officers fired their guns, Bibb County Sheriff David Davis told reporters. Williams’ death was ruled a suicide.
Williams turned out to be a fugitive suspected of murder, and had been missing since March 5, the night before he was supposed to be tried for murder. Williams was accused of shooting to death a man at a convenience store in 2021.
It was alleged that Williams had been kidnapped that night, since a security camera showed him being attacked by two men on his front porch, but Davis and District Attorney Anita Howard both indicated they doubted the kidnapping theory.
The four inmates Williams was to be questioned about broke out of the Bibb County Detention Center on the morning of October 16 through a damaged day room window and a cut fence, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said in <a href="https://www.facebook.com/BibbCountySheriffsOffice/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a Facebook post</a> at the time. The escape occurred around 3:00 a.m., with a blue Dodge Challenger pulling up outside the jail and transporting the inmates away.
That Dodge Challenger <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/4-escaped-inmates-from-georgia-remain-at-large-getaway-car-recovered" target="_blank" rel="noopener">was recovered</a> on Friday, the sheriff’s office <a href="https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=725156426307014&amp;set=pb.100064379902001.-2207520000" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>. The vehicle was located in the parking lot of a Biomat USA – a facility that collects blood plasma donations. The building is less than two miles from the jail.
Sheriff Davis said in the post that he “appreciates the tips and every lead that we have received is being followed up on.”
The escaped inmates <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/4-inmates-including-a-suspected-murderer-escape-from-georgia-jail" target="_blank" rel="noopener">include</a> 52-year-old Joey Fournier, a white male with gray hair and blue eyes who was being held at the detention center for alleged murder. The other three inmates are 24-year-old Marc Kerry Anderson, a black man being held for aggravated assault; 37-year-old Johnifer Dernard Barnwell, a black man being detained for the United States Marshals; and 29-year-old Chavis Demaryo Stokes, a black man being held for possession of a firearm and drug trafficking.
The Sheriff’s Office asked anyone with information about the possible location of these inmates to call the FBI’s tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI or the United States Marshal Service at 1-877-WANTED2. Tips may also be submitted online at tips.fbi.gov or through the USMS Tips app.
