Given a golden opportunity, CNN pundit Scott Jennings couldn&#8217;t resist mocking Maine Democratic senatorial candidate Graham Platner — and honestly, who could blame him?
During a segment about the White House UFC fight night, CNN anchor Abby Phillip dropped an eyebrow-raising detail: the Trump administration&#8217;s extravagant South Lawn spectacle would require a staggering 494 porta-potties for the 120,000-person crowd gathering at the Ellipse.
Jennings didn&#8217;t miss a beat.
&#8220;Somewhere Graham Platner is booking an airline ticket,&#8221; the Republican commentator deadpanned, sending the segment into chaos.
It was the kind of surgical one-liner that only lands when everyone already knows the backstory — and with Platner, there&#8217;s plenty of backstory to go around.

Platner, the presumptive Democratic nominee challenging GOP Sen. Susan Collins in Maine&#8217;s U.S. Senate race, has spent months desperately trying to outrun a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dem-senate-hopeful-called-himself-a-communist-made-racist-comments-in-reddit-posts">mountain of filth</a> he left behind on Reddit under the handle &#8220;P-Hustle.&#8221; He deleted the account before launching his campaign, but the internet never forgets.
The portable toilet obsession is front and center. In a <a href="https://townhall.com/tipsheet/jeff-charles/2026/05/19/graham-platners-port-o-potty-confession-n2676321#google_vignette">2017 post</a> on Reddit&#8217;s r/Military forum, Platner confessed: &#8220;I still have to jerk off every time I sit in a porta-sh*tter … that blue water smell conditioned me.&#8221; In another 2021 post on r/USMC, he waxed poetic about crude penis graffiti he&#8217;d encountered in military latrines while deployed, describing the artwork in disturbingly vivid terms — calling it &#8220;beautiful,&#8221; &#8220;engorged and veiny,&#8221; and praising its movement &#8220;towards its penetrative glory.&#8221;
The porta-potty confessions are just the highlight reel of a Reddit archive that reads like opposition research gold.
He has also sported a Nazi-linked tattoo, which he covered up and claimed he never knew about the significance.
Platner&#8217;s defense? He was suffering from PTSD after tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and was, in his own words, &#8220;an asshole on the internet.&#8221; He has apologized and insists the posts don&#8217;t reflect who he is today.
Maine voters, apparently unbothered, effectively handed him the nomination anyway after Gov. Janet Mills dropped out of the Democratic primary on April 30.
Collins, one of the Senate&#8217;s savviest survivors, must be absolutely thrilled.
And somewhere, 494 porta-potties await their most famous admirer.

Regular CNN commentator Scott Jennings exposed what he believed was the accused assassin&#8217;s flaw in targeting Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.

Jennings began by pointing to some of the things being taught on college campuses across the United States — namely that the nation was built on racism, the traditional family unit was a tool of oppression, and capitalism was rooted in evil — and commended Kirk for seeing that and trying to make a difference.
&#8220;I think when the shooter pulled the trigger in Utah, he thought he was ending a movement. He thought if he could kill someone like Charlie Kirk, he could kill what Charlie stood for,&#8221; Jennings continued. &#8220;That the rest of us would get the message, that we would heed the warning: &#8216;Silence yourselves or we will do it for you.&#8217; That’s what they thought.&#8221;

Congressional candidate Justin Pearson (D-TN) refused to name even one illegal alien he would deport — even when asked directly — and instead delivered a series of comments attacking Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Pearson began with a general complaint about ICE, claiming that no one in President Donald Trump&#8217;s administration could be &#8220;trusted&#8221; to hold themselves accountable to the people. He argued that both ICE and U.S. Customs and Border Protection in their current forms should be dissolved entirely, and that new organizations with different priorities should be built from the ground up.

&#8220;But what is the work we need them to do?&#8221; Jennings asked again.
&#8220;Well, first let&#8217;s look at what they don&#8217;t need to do,&#8221; Pearson said, prompting a chuckle from Jennings. &#8220;They don&#8217;t need to go into communities like Memphis —&#8221;
&#8220;Do they need to deport illegal aliens?&#8221; Jennings asked directly.
&#8220;— they&#8217;re currently traumatizing our communities —&#8221;
&#8220;Do they need to deport illegal aliens?&#8221; Jennings repeated the question. &#8220;Can you say it?&#8221;
Jennings asked the question several times, and while Pearson was ready and willing to say many times what ICE should *not* do, he could not come up with one thing that a newly-formed immigration law enforcement agency *would* do, other than aid in finding a path to citizenship for illegal aliens who were already in the United States.
At no point was Pearson able to provide Jennings with an answer to his question as to what ICE should be doing or whether there were any illegal aliens he believed should be deported — and after several minutes, host Abby Phillip stepped in to change the topic.

CNN anchor John Berman reluctantly stepped in to save Cameron Kasky after the Parkland activist-turned-commentator defamed President Donald Trump — twice — during a Monday evening broadcast.
Berman was goaded into covering for Kasky — who twice claimed that Trump was &#8220;provably&#8221; involved in a &#8220;global sex trafficking ring&#8221; tied to the late convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein — by conservative commentator Scott Jennings, who had to ask whether Berman was going to let the accusation stand.

Sometime after the broadcast, Kasky apparently realized the gravity of what he&#8217;d said on air and offered an apology in which he also claimed he had twice made the accusation &#8220;by accident.&#8221;
&#8220;I would like to retract my comments from CNN last night and truly apologize. Vice President JD Vance responded on Tuesday to the news that someone had attempted to break into his Ohio home, referring to the suspect as &#8220;a very sick individual.&#8221;
William D. DeFoor, 26, was arrested after Secret Service agents caught him breaking windows in Vance&#8217;s Cincinnati home, and now faces both federal and local vandalism charges. Vance, who had left the home with his family prior to the attack, addressed the issue during an interview with CNN commentator and Salem radio host Scott Jennings, who asked him how the family was handling the situation.

Vance said that he was unsure of the motive and wasn&#8217;t trying to second guess any ongoing investigations, but did assert that the person responsible for the attack was &#8220;clearly a very sick individual. The good thing is, my kids are young enough, they have no idea what&#8217;s going on and they don&#8217;t read the news, so they have no idea that their home was attacked by a crazy person with a hammer &#8230; there are crazy people out there and we&#8217;re thankful for the Secret Service.&#8221;

A CNN panel discussion quickly veered off the rails when one guest claimed that Israel had invaded Gaza in much the same way that Russia invaded Ukraine.
The conversation took place on &#8220;CNN NewsNight,&#8221; hosted by Abby Phillip, and spiraled out of control when &#8220;The Majority Report&#8221; host Emma Vigeland argued that the United States lacked credibility in addressing the conflict between Russia and Ukraine after supporting Israel.
&#8220;I do think that the kind of elephant in the room here is the United States completely losing, and the Biden administration is immensely complicit in this as well, moral standing throughout the world due to our complicity in the genocide in Gaza. Which has made it very difficult for us to speak to Ukrainian sovereignty and having a bully like the Russian government invading their sovereign territory&#8221; she said.
Conservative commentator Scott Jennings was clearly taken aback, but when he attempted to debate the point, Phillip called him off and said there wasn&#8217;t time. Jennings pressed onward regardless, undeterred.

Vigeland protested, saying that B&#8217;Tselem, an Israeli &#8220;human rights group&#8221; that has a clearly anti-Israel agenda, had referred to the situation in Gaza as a &#8220;genocide.&#8221;
&#8220;None, none,&#8221; Jennings said. &#8220;And you still don&#8217;t. You still don&#8217;t!&#8221;

President Donald Trump said that tech tycoon and once-close ally Elon Musk doesn’t have a choice but to align with Republicans against the political Left.
Trump made the prediction on &#8220;The Scott Jennings Show&#8221; in an interview aired on Wednesday. The president said that Musk made a mistake in attacking the &#8220;One Big, Beautiful Bill,&#8221; but that he would be welcomed back when he “works out” some problems.
“I don&#8217;t think he has a choice. So, what&#8217;s he gonna do? He&#8217;s going to go with the radical Left lunatics? You know, they&#8217;re lunatics. I don&#8217;t think he has a choice,” said Trump.
“He&#8217;s a man of common sense. He&#8217;s a good man. He got off the reservation incorrectly, and that&#8217;s okay because, you know, it&#8217;s just one of those things. But he&#8217;s a good person,” the president continued. “He&#8217;s got, you know, 80% super genius, and then 20% he&#8217;s got some problems. And when he works out the 20%, he&#8217;ll be great.”
Trump said that Musk regrets his split from the White House and the center of the Republican Party.
“He&#8217;s got some difficulty, but I liked him. I always liked him. I like him now, but he went off the reservation, and he wished he didn&#8217;t do it,” said Trump.

Musk broke with Trump over the &#8220;One Big, Beautiful Bill,&#8221; criticizing the president’s landmark piece of legislation as a bloated bill with far too much spending. The tech tycoon then <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/elon-musk-officially-announces-new-political-party-after-fallout-with-trump">pledged</a> to launch his own political party, the America Party.
“By a factor of 2 to 1, you want a new political party and you shall have it!” Musk said on X in July, referring to a poll he ran on his social media platform.
“When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste &amp; graft, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy,” he continued. “Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom.”
Musk has reportedly put his plans for a new party on hold. The billionaire is hesitant to move forward with a new political party due to the rifts it would create between him and top figures in the GOP. One of those figures is Vice President JD Vance, whom Musk is reportedly <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/musk-hits-pause-on-new-party-launch-while-he-weighs-backing-vance-in-2028">considering</a> backing in 2028.
Last month, Vance <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/musk-hits-pause-on-new-party-launch-while-he-weighs-backing-vance-in-2028">offered</a> similar comments to Trump about Musk, stating that Musk was instrumental in the president&#8217;s 2024 election victory.
“He did help us a lot in the election. And the president even says, with all his frustration, Elon was a very, very critical part of the team last election, and so my hope is by the midterms things are kind of back to normal,” Vance said.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — “Everybody needs to be reading more history.” 
While not a typical applause line, it was a favorite of the crowd of twenty and thirty-somethings listening to Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti speak at the National Young Republican Convention. Skrmetti, fresh off a landmark victory at the Supreme Court, implored the crowd to take seriously their duty to know how America works and leave it better off for future generations. 
“You’re the ones who are coming into this, and you’ve got the future ahead of you, we run the country, and we need to do it wisely,” Skrmetti told the crowd of sharply-dressed attendees in the ballroom of the Sheraton Music City Hotel last weekend. “That means everybody needs to be reading more history. You’ve got to have the perspective of knowing how things have worked in the past.”
Skrmetti, who loves American history and has four young children, praised the Founding Fathers for their sacrifices to build the United States. 
“America is not just a short-term thing where we get what we can get and then run for the hills,” he said. “It is literally created to secure the blessings of liberty for ourselves and our posterity, and we have to have the multi-generational perspective and be looking not just to get short-term wins, but to strengthen our country.”
This year’s convention was attended by more than 1,000 Republicans between the ages of 18 and 40 from all 50 states. It was the largest convention in decades, and the second largest ever, according to organizers. 
Speakers and participants included a variety of Tennessee political staples, such as Governor Bill Lee and Reps. John Rose and Tim Burchett, in addition to sports commentator Clay Travis and conservative CNN commentator Scott Jennings. 
From Thursday to Sunday, attendees milled about the convention space, which featured booths from diverse organizations such as Trump Mobile, PETA, and WinRed. Multiple attendees told The Daily Wire they were there to meet like-minded people. 
Kellie Lynch, a Republican from New York, said that she thought the most significant issues facing young people were the economy, the cost of living, and the rise of artificial intelligence. While much has been made of the gender divide in voting patterns, Lynch said that the GOP did a “great job” reaching out to women. She thought media bias played a major role in some women’s perception of Republicans.

Another attendee, Kyle Mason, an investment property specialist from Texas, said he believed President Donald Trump’s embrace of masculinity was key to the reason many younger men were starting to vote Republican. In his spare time, Mason volunteers with Republican political efforts in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. 
After his panel appearance, Skrmetti told The Daily Wire that he had a lot of older mentors who helped him be involved in civic action, and he now wants to play that role for others. Asked about some young people who see politics as hopelessly corrupt, Skrmetti pointed out that America was founded by men who were skeptical of the government. 
“Cynical people are a critical part of America, and we need them, but we need them not to sit on the sidelines and gripe. We need them to take their cynicism and put it to work on behalf of all the American people,” he said. 
He added that one way to expose corruption and push for change was on the internet, which he said really opened up the national conversation for input from anyone. 
Skrmetti’s sentiment was present in other speeches, including by Governor Lee, who noted that he would probably float into “political obscurity” once his term in office was over.
“You’re the future of America, you have an obligation and a responsibility to wake up every day and ask yourself those questions so you’ll be engaging in the things that matter and that change the lives of the people around you,” Lee said.

The National Young Republicans now have chapters in almost every state, with a Delaware chapter being chartered over the weekend, Chair Hayden Padgett told The Daily Wire. The last state needing a chapter is Wyoming. 
Padgett said that the purpose of the Young Republicans was twofold: to build community and to aid in political campaigns.
During the 2024 election cycle, which he described as “wild” in the “best way,” Padgett said a contingent of Young Republicans knocked on the doors of 3% of Montana voters in support of Tim Sheehy, who successfully defeated incumbent Democrat Senator Jon Tester. 
His pitch to young people was that Republican policies would help them achieve the American dream of starting a family, owning a business, and buying a home. Padgett was re-elected as chair of the Young Republicans after a contentious challenge from New York State Young Republicans Chair Peter Giunta.
“If you want to have a better life, if you want to have a family, if you want to have the ability to actually achieve the American dream, we are putting in the policies, and have been for 150 years, whatever it is, that actually make that possible,” Padgett said. “So come join that.”

CNN Republican commentator Scott Jennings responded to billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk&#8217;s call for a new, independent political party — and he argued that Musk&#8217;s efforts were likely to do more harm than good.
Jennings made the point during a panel discussion on CNN&#8217;s &#8220;State of the Union,&#8221; arguing that the kind of party Musk was proposing was likely to divide conservatives and Republicans, leaving the door open for Democrats to win — a possible outcome to which he was opposed.

My humble advice to Elon, who I admire very much, actually, is that you may be dividing the forces of people who want to save Western civilization to the benefit of the people who don&#8217;t.&#8221;
&#8220;And so to the extent that this effort would divide conservatives and Republicans against each other, that wouldn&#8217;t be helpful,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;Because it would leave the country to people who want unfettered immigration, who don&#8217;t share your fiscal views, and so on and so forth — so we&#8217;ll see where it goes.&#8221;
Jennings concluded by touting the broad coalition that propelled President Donald Trump to victory in 2024, saying that he&#8217;d prefer to see those people stick together in the days ahead.
&#8220;I sort of hope everybody puts the band back together the way they had it in 2024 because when everybody was working together, things worked quite well,&#8221; Jennings concluded.
&#8220;I&#8217;m just curious, if they&#8217;re on the side of western civilization, what&#8217;s the other side of civilization that people want?&#8221; another panelist asked.
&#8220;Not western civilization,&#8221; Jennings replied. &#8220;Terrible. Not American values, not western civilization.&#8221;

CNN&#8217;s Bakari Sellers attempted to draw down on Republican commentator Scott Jennings during a Monday evening panel discussion, bristling when Jennings assessed New York City Democratic mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani in the same way that President Donald Trump had: &#8220;a communist.&#8221;
Both Sellers and Jennings addressed the issue on CNN&#8217;s &#8220;NewsNight&#8221; with host Abby Phillip, discussing a recent video that showed Mamdani throwing around Marxist terms such as &#8220;seizing the means of production&#8221; and using government funds to buy up housing developments that would eventually be community-owned.

His voice rising a few pitches, Sellers repeated, &#8220;He&#8217;s a socialist! I&#8217;m not a socialist, but he calls himself —&#8221;
&#8220;He literally uses — he&#8217;s using the language of the Bolsheviks, is he not?&#8221; Jennings asked.
&#8220;No, he&#8217;s not,&#8221; Sellers tried again. &#8220;He&#8217;s a socialist, not a communist.&#8221;
&#8220;Seizing the means of production?&#8221; Jennings raised an eyebrow.
&#8220;That&#8217;s called socialism,&#8221; Sellers said. &#8220;Not communism.&#8221;
Phillip cut in then, bringing the debate to a close.
All evidence to the contrary, Mamdani has repeatedly stated that he is not a communist, but rather a &#8220;democratic socialist.&#8221;

CNN Republican commentator Scott Jennings took a swing at Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan, pointing out how quickly she&#8217;d changed her tune on the topic of nationwide injunctions when the party in power had changed.

Phillip began the conversation by noting that both Democrats and Republicans had opposed the idea of nationwide injunctions — a tool used by lower courts to extend what would otherwise be limited rulings to apply across the entire country — mostly when they were being used by the opposition party to restrain an executive with whom they agreed.
&#8220;The nationwide injunction is officially dead and the court taking an opportunity here to do something that a lot of conservatives, perhaps, have wanted for a while. But, as we’ve discussed plenty of times, the nationwide injunction has been sort of the bane of the existence of Democrat and Republican presidents. It’s just that now this court has actually done it,&#8221; Phillip said.

Jennings, who has said on a number of occasions that the real &#8220;constitutional crisis&#8221; in play at present was a runaway judiciary bent on restraining President Donald Trump by any means necessary. &#8220;Yeah, they’ve finally done something about it. Friday was a great day for Donald Trump. The market ended at all-time highs. He’s breaking peace agreements in the Oval Office on a Friday afternoon. And then the court really clears the way for him to enact the agenda on which he ran.&#8221;
&#8220;I was trying to sort out my feelings on this matter, and I came up with a quote from a very smart lawyer, and I just want to quote it, because I think she was right when she said it. &#8216;It just can’t be right that one District Judge can stop a nationwide policy in its tracks,'&#8221; Jennings continued, pivoting to reveal his source: &#8220;Justice Elena Kagan in 2022 said that. Of course, when we had a democratic president. Now she voted against the decision on Friday. Just goes to show you that some of these folks really are hacks.&#8221;
&#8220;But as you correctly said, this has been the bane of existence of presidents and I’m glad they went ahead and fixed it because it’s not right that one of these individual district court judges can act like a king or a monarch and stop the elected president from acting,&#8221; Jennings concluded.

President Donald Trump&#8217;s on such a winning streak that not even CNN can ignore it.
From the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/cia-reveals-intelligence-showing-u-s-destroyed-key-iranian-nuclear-facilities">destruction</a> of Iran&#8217;s key nuclear facilities to brokering a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-holds-ceasefire-after-israel-refrains-from-major-retaliation-for-irans-strike-on-civilians">ceasefire</a> between Iran and Israel, the president&#8217;s slew of victories has gotten long enough that  CNN host Michael Smerconish spent more than six minutes on air diving into Trump&#8217;s accomplishments over the past 12 days. The chyron on the screen simply said, &#8220;Trump On A Roll.&#8221;
&#8220;The mission was carried out with stealth and precision,&#8221; Smerconish said of American attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities. &#8220;There were no American casualties.&#8221;
Smerconish then noted of Trump <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-triumphs-nato-bows-to-u-s-pressure-with-5-defense-pledge">maneuvering an impressive win at NATO</a>, getting United States allies to more than double their contribution to the alliance. The president reached a trade deal with China, and expects a deal with India soon, Smerconish said, adding that the stock market has &#8220;rebounded and grown,&#8221; hitting record highs.
Additionally, the CNN host highlighted how inflation has cooled under Trump.
&#8220;The rate is now reported at 2.4%, down from a high of 7% just four years ago,&#8221; Smerconish told viewers. &#8220;Meanwhile, blue-collar workers have seen real wage growth of 1.7% in Trump&#8217;s first five months: this is the largest such increase in three generations.&#8221;
Trump has also incentivized major companies to invest in American manufacturing, the host noted. As highlighted by <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ge-appliances-moving-production-from-china-to-republican-state">The Daily Wire</a>, GE Appliances announced this week that it’s moving even more of its production from China to Kentucky, investing nearly half-a-billion dollars and creating at least 800 full-time jobs.
Smerconish also noted that we&#8217;ve hit the lowest border encounters since the 1960s, while Trump is continuing to gain support with latino Americans.
The CNN host recalled Trump&#8217;s major wins at the Supreme Court, specifically on immigration. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/birthright-citizenship-lgbt-books-porn-law-ben-shapiro-reacts-to-trumps-trifecta-of-wins-at-scotus">The Daily Wire</a> reported that the SCOTUS <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/supreme-court-sides-with-trump-limits-nationwide-injunctions-in-birthright-citizenship-fight?author=Mairead+Elordi&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=2&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Supreme+Court+Sides+With+Trump%2C+Limits+Nationwide+Injunctions+In+Birthright+Citizenship+Fight" target="_blank" rel="noopener">cracked down</a> on lower courts trying to hamstring Trump’s agenda, ruling that Trump may end birthright citizenship in some parts of the country while legal challenges against his order proceed in others.
