An Islamic man from Pakistan was arrested in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/canada" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Canada</a> this week for allegedly planning a terrorist attack against Jews in New York City.
The U.S. Department of Justice said late on Friday that Muhammad Shahzeb Khan, 20, was charged with attempting to provide material support and resources to ISIS, a designated foreign terrorist organization (FTO).
Khan &#8220;attempted to travel from Canada to New York City, where he intended to use automatic and semi-automatic weapons to carry out a mass shooting in support of ISIS at a Jewish center in Brooklyn, New York,&#8221; prosecutors said.
He began posting on social media and on an encrypted messaging platform late last year that he supported ISIS and began distributing their propaganda, the DOJ said.
He allegedly told undercover law enforcement sources that he was working with a U.S.-based ISIS terrorist to carry out the attack and that he was trying to create an &#8220;offline cell&#8221; of ISIS terrorists who could launch a coordinated attack killing Jews at synagogues.
He wanted to carry out the attacks on either October 7 — the anniversary of Hamas&#8217; unprecedented terrorist attack in Israel last year in which 1,200 people were murdered — or on October 11, which is the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur.
He was originally targeting a city only referred to as &#8220;City-1&#8221; in the indictment, but changed the target to New York City.
Khan said that the Muslims were &#8220;going to NYC to slaughter them,&#8221; which he planned to do by shooting them with rifles or using knives to &#8220;slit their throats.&#8221;
&#8220;Khan repeatedly reiterated his desire to carry out the attack in support of ISIS, and discussed planning for the attack, including by identifying rental properties close to Location-1 and paying for a human smuggler to help him reach and cross the border from Canada into the United States,&#8221; the DOJ said. &#8220;During one communication, Khan noted that &#8216;if we succeed with our plan this would be the largest Attack on US soil since 9/11.&#8221;
The DOJ only charged him with a single count of attempting to provide material support and resources to a designated foreign terrorist organization, which carries a maximum of 20 years in prison.
“The defendant was allegedly determined to kill Jewish people here in the United States, nearly one year after Hamas’ horrific attack on Israel. This investigation was led by the FBI, and I am proud of the terrific work by the FBI team and our partners to disrupt Khan&#8217;s plan,” said FBI Director Christopher Wray. “The FBI will continue to work closely with our partners to investigate and hold accountable those who seek to commit violence in the name of ISIS or other terrorist organizations. Fighting terrorism remains the FBI’s top priority.”

At least half a dozen U.S. soldiers were injured during an operation against <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/isis" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ISIS</a> in Iraq late this week that resulted in more than a dozen Islamic terrorists being terminated from the battlefield.
The Associated Press <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/International/7-us-personnel-injured-iraq-raid-killed-15/story?id=113290070" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that a U.S. defense official said that seven U.S. soldiers were injured during the raids.
None of the injuries were described as &#8220;life-threatening,&#8221; NBC News <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/15-islamic-state-group-fighters-dead-6-us-soldiers-injured-raid-rcna169080" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. Multiple officials told the network that several of the soldiers suffered traumatic brain injuries — likely from a blast — and one soldier suffered &#8220;external injuries.&#8221;
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a statement that the U.S. conducted the raid in a joint operation with Iraqi Security Forces in Western Iraq during the early hours on Thursday, resulting in the deaths of 15 ISIS terrorists.
&#8220;The ISIS element was armed with numerous weapons, grenades, and explosive &#8216;suicide&#8217; belts,&#8221; CENTCOM said. &#8220;This operation targeted ISIS leaders to disrupt and degrade ISIS&#8217; ability to plan, organize, and conduct attacks against Iraqi civilians, as well as U.S. citizens, allies, and partners throughout the region and beyond.&#8221;
Iraqi Security Forces were continuing to gather intelligence from the locations that were raided, the statement said.

The statement said that there was no indication of any civilians being hurt.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/france" target="_blank" rel="noopener">French authorities</a> said that an Islamic terrorist attack was carried out on a synagogue in southern France on Saturday as worshippers were making their way to the building.
Two cars exploded outside the synagogue in La Grande-Motte Saturday morning at 8 a.m. and the building&#8217;s doors were lit on fire while five people, including a rabbi, were inside.
French anti-terrorism officials said that the man was armed with a gun and was carrying a Palestinian flag during the terror attack. They said that he tried to get inside the building, but was unable to, at which point he lit the doors on fire.
&#8220;Thoughts for the faithful of the synagogue of La Grande-Motte and all the Jews of our country,&#8221; said French President Emmanuel Macron. &#8220;Everything is done to find the author of this terrorist act and protect places of worship.&#8221;
&#8220;The fight against anti-Semitism is a constant battle, that of the united Nation,&#8221; he added.
While no one in the building was hurt, a police officer was injured when one of the cars exploded, French officials said.

Anti-terrorism authorities were treating the attack as an &#8220;attempted assassination by a terrorist organization intended to cause harm and destroy property,&#8221; CNN <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/08/24/europe/france-synagogue-arson-la-grande-motte-intl/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
The Islamic terrorist attack comes as the continent has seen a sharp uptick in anti-Semitic attacks and foiled terrorist attacks over the last year in response to Hamas&#8217; October 7 massacre in Israel.
The attack comes as Germany was rocked by an Islamic terrorist attack on Friday night when a man shouting &#8220;Allahu Akbar&#8221; <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/islamic-terrorists-take-responsibility-for-mass-stabbing-attack-in-germany-as-multiple-arrests-made" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stabbed</a> nine people, killing three.

Cars Explode, Building Set On Fire In Islamic Terrorist Attack On French Synagogue: Reports

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/germany" target="_blank" rel="noopener">German</a> law enforcement officials are searching for an Islamic man following a mass stabbing attack in the city of Solingen on Friday night that left several people dead.
At least nine people were stabbed, three of whom have died, at the “Festival of Diversity” — a three-day event celebrating the 650th anniversary of the city’s founding.
The suspect &#8220;specifically targeted the necks of his victims,&#8221; German authorities said at a press conference.
German newspaper WELT AM SONNTAG obtained a copy of a police report on the attack that <a href="https://www.welt.de/politik/deutschland/article253170104/Solingen-Polizeibericht-Zeuge-hoerte-Allahu-Akbar-Ruf.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stated</a>: &#8220;A witness who was injured in the attack stated that the unknown suspect was &#8216;known from Solingen&#8217; and that he was also a visitor to a local mosque. A witness reported that the suspect shouted &#8216;Allahu Akbar&#8217; during his actions.&#8221;
Bild, Germany’s largest newspaper, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/multiple-people-stabbed-by-arab-looking-man-in-terror-attack-on-diversity-festival-in-germany-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> that police were treating the incident as a “terror attack” after the suspect, whom witnesses described as “an Arab-looking man,” began attacking people at a busy city square in Solingen where a stage was set up for the event.
ISIS claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack, saying: &#8220;The perpetrator of the attack on the Christian gathering in the city of Solingen, Germany, yesterday, was a soldier from the Islamic State, and he carried it out as revenge against Muslims in Palestine and everywhere.&#8221;

Police arrested a 15-year-old in connection with the stabbing, but later indicated that he was not the suspect they were looking for. Police believe he may have known about the attack and failed to alert the authorities.

Iranian-backed <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/houthis" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Houthi terrorists</a> detonated charges on an oil tanker traveling in international waters in the Red Sea this week, putting the ship at risk of becoming the third major commercial shipping vessel that the Islamic terror group has sunk over the last year.
EUNAVFOR ASPIDES — an EU military operation in the Red Sea, the Indian Ocean, and the Gulf — said in a statement that the attack on the MV SOUNION happened on Wednesday after the ship did not ask for protection.
&#8220;Once the ship was attacked[,] it lost engine power and an operation was dispatched to the ship to rescue the crew,&#8221; ASPIDES said in a statement.
&#8220;While approaching the area, the EUNAVFOR ASPIDES ship destroyed an Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) that posed an imminent threat to the ship and the crew,&#8221; the statement said. &#8220;All on board the MV SOUNION were subsequently rescued and are being transported to Djibouti, the nearest safe port of call. The lives of seafarers and freedom on the high seas are nonnegotiable values and their protection is a key objective of EUNAVFOR ASPIDES.&#8221;
The ship was carrying 150,000 tons of crude oil, the group said, noting that the situation now presents a serious &#8220;navigational and environmental hazard.&#8221;
&#8220;It is essential that everyone in the area exercises caution and refrains from any actions that could lead to a deterioration of the current situation,&#8221; the statement concluded. &#8220;EUNAVFOR ASPIDES with a defensive mandate acts as a credible EU maritime security provider, with the aim to contribute to the freedom of navigation in the area of operation and the safe passage of merchant vessels.&#8221;

A manhunt is underway in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/germany" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Germany</a> after at least nine people were stabbed at a diversity festival on Friday night reportedly by a middle eastern-looking man.
Bild, Germany&#8217;s largest newspaper, said that police are treating the incident as a &#8220;terror attack&#8221; after the suspect, who witnesses described as &#8220;an Arab-looking man,&#8221; began attacking people at a busy city square in Solingen where a stage was set up for the event.
At least three people were killed during the attack, the report <a href="https://www.bild.de/news/inland/messer-amok-in-solingen-mehrere-menschen-bei-stadtfest-getoetet-641fe8c9d020c344f0b8ee09" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>. The suspect reportedly stabbed people in the neck during the attack.
&#8220;The attacker stabbed people at random with a knife. That&#8217;s why we are currently assuming it was an attack,&#8221; said Chief Inspector Sascha Kresta, spokesman for the Wuppertal police. &#8220;There are currently three fatally injured victims, five seriously injured and people in shock. A large-scale search for the attacker is underway, and we absolutely want to arrest the perpetrator. But investigations, forensic evidence and witness interviews are also underway at the same time.&#8221;

It breaks my heart that there was an attack on our city. I have tears in my eyes when I think of those we have lost. I pray for all those who are still fighting for their lives.&#8221;

While there are still many great police detectives solving serious crimes in Britain, like Inspector Morse and Inspector Morse when he was a younger man, they are limited in their jurisdiction by the fact of being imaginary. Whereas Metropolitan Police Chief Sir Mark Rowley, who would be imaginary in a better world, is in this world and ridiculously real. And while in this world, Muslim gangs in the U.K. have repeatedly groomed teenage girls as sex slaves while authorities looked the other way, and Muslim honor crimes such as murder, punitive gang rape and forced genital mutilation have risen 200 percent in the U.K. since 2016 while authorities looked the other way, and while Islamic terror accounts for nearly 70 percent of U.K. terror attacks while authorities let illegal Islamist immigrants swarm in unchecked, Sir Mark has been dispatching his officers to arrest Britons for having opinions and posting them on Facebook. And now, he&#8217;s threatening to extend this oppressive idiocy to people in our country where we just feel Sir Mark should, to translate this into his own language, bugger off and stick to arresting women who pray silently for abortion victims while his country turns into Afghanistan except full of funny-talking homosexuals, like in Afghanistan.
Sir Mark — who along with being the Metropolitan Police Commissioner also serves full time as a gormless twit — made his remarks after riots broke out across his country in the wake of a horrible murder. After years of being told that the massive illegal flood of immigrants into Britain was not causing the crime, abuse and terrorism it was causing, Angry White British People assumed the police, who had lied and lied and lied and then lied, were lying when they said the murders had not been committed by an illegal Muslim immigrant. Furious, the Angry White People stupidly clashed with Muslim people who did not kill anybody, since it turned out in this case, the police had broken with long-standing police protocol and were telling the truth.

Since when did the free press of the United States become a useful idiot? Why are mainstream media outlets, across the spectrum, parroting propaganda from the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI)? The Wall Street Journal spoke of the <a href="https://www.wsj.com/world/middle-east/irans-election-features-a-reformer-a-hardliner-and-a-crisis-3360fad2" target="_blank" rel="noopener">recent Iranian elections</a>, without declaring its sham nature. The Atlantic published an <a href="https://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2024/07/iran-election-pezeshkian-khamenei/678948/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">unironic piece</a> detailing Ayatollah Khamenei&#8217;s fear of the reformist party, failing to note that Iran is a <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-57260831">totalitarian state</a>. Nothing happens without his approval, so what exactly does he have to fear? The New York Times is no better. Their <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/07/16/world/middleeast/iran-new-president-pezeshkian.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">recent portrayal</a> of the new Iranian president paints a sympathetic portrait.
Apparently, the following points need to be made for the American public.
One, the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) is an Islamic theocracy with Ayatollah Khamenei as its Supreme Leader. Khamenei’s regime controls everything in the country. I repeat: everything. This is a foreign concept to Americans basking in the land of the free. So let me provide an example. When I was living in Iran, the regime chose what college I attended. The regime chose my major. The regime forced me to cut my long hair. Like the other 80 million Iranians, I had no agency over my own life.
Moreover, external narratives originating from the regime cannot be trusted. This includes any Iranian news outlet, <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-14542234" target="_blank" rel="noopener">as all media is state-run</a>. To maintain a modicum of grace within the Western world powers, the regime creates a facade of liberalism. This is their propaganda. It is a mirage, a lie sold to the West in order to continue <a href="https://www.meforum.org/campus-watch/25701/how-iran-and-her-proxies-use-western-resources-to" target="_blank" rel="noopener">leeching Western resources</a>, like funding and research, to further entrench their ideology. Instead, listen to what they say behind our backs. MEMRI, an independent U.S.-based nonprofit, translates scores of <a href="https://www.memri.org/countries/iran" target="_blank" rel="noopener">internal IRI media</a>. Perusing these translations informs us of IRI’s true intentions.
Two, in general, the Iranian people are not our enemy. They suffer most under the oppressive regime and are essentially a collective political prisoner. The lucky few who escaped deserve our compassion and attention, not the ones who are <a href="https://medium.com/@mitra.jashni7/islamic-republic-apologists-in-the-west-are-cheering-for-nuclear-weapons-935f8064f297" target="_blank" rel="noopener">regime apologists</a> and come to the West to whitewash IRI’s crimes. They, who have endured trauma beyond comprehension, do not deserve  treatment similar from which they ran away. When I fled to America nearly eight years ago, I faced resistance when telling my story. It continues to alarm me that other Iranian dissidents, some who continue to face <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/iranian-dissidents-abductions-assassination-attemts-60-minutes-transcript/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">death threats</a> from the regime, are being silenced. Some even have <a href="https://www.npr.org/2024/01/29/1227634325/iran-murder-for-hire-plot-maryland" target="_blank" rel="noopener">terror plots against them</a>. Americans need to listen to these people. We have seen the other side (spoiler alert: it’s terrifying), we notice the warning signs, and we are committed to preserving freedom.
Three, the IRI seeks the destruction of the West, particularly America. This is not hyperbole. Don’t laugh this off. I know it sounds absurd. The end may not come with fire and brimstone, but perhaps rather a social unraveling. I fear that if <a href="https://news.gallup.com/poll/312644/national-pride-falls-record-low.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">diminishing pride</a> in our country continues to grow, our institutions and infrastructure of freedom will whither. It can be metaphorical suicide to take our freedom for granted. There is a reason Ayatollah Khamenei <a href="https://twitter.com/khamenei_ir/status/1795963798831964411" target="_blank" rel="noopener">tweeted support</a> for American college student protesters and their encampments — which also highlights the regime’s double standard, as the Iranian people do not have access to Twitter. In fact, I echo the request of <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2023-03-22/iran-protests-target-ayatollah-khamenei-social-media-accounts" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Iranian dissidents</a> who call upon Elon Musk and other tech giants to ban Khamenei. The Supreme Leader gets high off of American turmoil. Our chaos is his schadenfreude. To be clear, anything that pleases Ayatollah Khamenei should revolt us. He <a href="https://apnews.com/article/iran-crime-government-and-politics-da53071412f8c3da9cd51945b7870780" target="_blank" rel="noopener">hangs political prisoners from cranes</a> for all to see.  He <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/01/25/opinions/nobel-peace-gender-apartheid-un-narges-mohammadi/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">upholds gender apartheid</a>, forcing women into a second-class caste. If Ayatollah Khamenei says you’re on the “right side of history,” you’re on the wrong side.
We need to be vigilant about our language. Language directly shapes how we understand our world. The stakes are too high to misunderstand the Iranian regime and the threat they pose. The challenge, of course, is that certain terms carry a different meaning in the IRI context. Words hold very different definitions within IRI. Words like “government” — for Americans this connotes something that is by the people for the people, which the Iranian regime is neither; “private” — the regime controls everything; “private” institutions in IRI are still public; “reformist” — this sounds palatable to Western ears, but the <a href="https://democrawonk.com/2024/06/28/iranian-elections-the-never-ending-saga-of-hardliners-vs-reformists/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reformists and hardliners in IRI are one and the same;</a> “crime” — did you know it is <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-62205744">illegal to own a dog in Iran?</a> 
If you struggle to understand the Islamic Republic, discard all that you know about the world and start anew. Just because a word is familiar, do not assume you know what it means in the IRI context.
Our journalists bear the burden of truth telling and clear communication. I urge them to reject IRI propaganda.

A brief trip back to my native Britain the other week was a depressing experience.
There has been widespread rioting in cities across England following the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/more-than-a-dozen-people-mostly-children-stabbed-by-17-year-old-male-in-u-k-multiple-fatalities-reported" target="_blank" rel="noopener">murder</a> of three young girls in Southport at a Taylor Swift dance class.
A large number of Brits, I think it is fair to say, are extremely <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/people-have-finally-had-enough-of-the-illegal-immigration-takeover" target="_blank" rel="noopener">agitated</a> about uncontrolled (often illegal) immigration. Tens of thousands of migrants have been allowed to flood into the country on small dinghies from France. 1 in 27 people now living in Britain arrived in the past two years. 4 in 10 foreign-born people in Britain have arrived in the past decade. 
There is a palpable sense that nothing in Britain runs the way it should, least of all the criminal justice system.
The number of <a href="https://rapecrisis.org.uk/get-informed/statistics-sexual-violence/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">recorded rapes</a> in England and Wales in 2023-24 was three times higher than in 2013-14. A recent investigation discovered that across much of the country, the police had not identified a single suspect for neighborhood crimes over the previous three years. Only a few weeks before the unrest erupted, the authorities announced that even violent offenders would be released from prison after serving a mere 40 percent of their sentences.
Then came the riots, and the authorities suddenly discovered that it is possible to arrest and prosecute criminals after all. Prosecutions that would normally take months to come to court were undertaken within a few days. That, plus the return of British rain, seems to have dampened the spirits of the troublemakers.
Instead of clamping down on immigration, or addressing some of the underlying concerns about Muslim integration (or lack thereof), the authorities seem to find it easier to clamp down on <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-uks-orwellian-crackdown-on-free-speech-could-be-headed-our-way" target="_blank" rel="noopener">free speech</a>, prosecuting people for obnoxious opinions about either immigrants or Muslims expressed online.
The most senior official in charge of public prosecutions in Britain declared that he has a team of “dedicated police officers scouring social media” to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/uk-police-chief-suggests-he-would-arrest-americans-for-highlighting-british-riots-online" target="_blank" rel="noopener">arrest people</a> for posting things that are “insulting” or “abusive”. He even threatened to extradite people to the UK for sharing such material online.
All of this has helped contribute to the now widely held idea that Britain has a “two tier” criminal justice system.
Having cheerfully announced that they would be letting violent criminals out of prison after completing less than half their sentences a few weeks before, the authorities now threaten people with jail time for expressing idiotic views. In Cheshire, the police boasted of arresting a woman for what they called “an inaccurate social media post”.
In order to fully understand why Britain is in such a sorry state it is essential to appreciate what has gone wrong with the country’s judiciary.
Mass immigration has become an explosive issue in Britain because judges have routinely thwarted attempts by successive governments to control it. In 2010, 2015, 2017 and 2019, Brits voted repeatedly to end mass immigration. It has not happened because judges have systematically prevented elected governments from controlling the country’s borders.
British judges only ever seem to rule in favor of those who enter the country illegally being able to remain, ruling on the basis of what they think the law should be, not the laws Parliament has passed. 
  
Britain, a once orderly, high-trust society has become increasingly lawless because judges have routinely failed to apply sentences that ordinary Brits would regard as just. It is so commonplace for violent robbers and rapists to be given community sentences, rather than go to prison, it is seldom even reported anymore.
Why are British judges so awful? Because they are unaccountable to the public.
In Britain, judges are appointed, not elected. Until 2006, at least the appointments were made by an elected minister, meaning there was a degree of democratic oversight. 
  
Since 2006, Britain’s judges have been appointed by the Judicial Appointments Commission, a body obsessed about diversity, equity and inclusion, rather than justice. Thanks to Human Rights law, judges are not merely unaccountable. They regard judicial activism as part of their job.
Liberty and order in Britain are collapsing as a consequence.
At some point, we must all hope a new Margaret Thatcher emerges in Britain, someone with the vision and principle to save the country from decline. On its current trajectory, Britain is drifting towards the abyss of a sectarian society.
In 2001, there were one and a half million Muslims in Britain. Today there are 4 million. If even a small percentage of British Muslims adhere to the Islamist teachings of Sayyid Qutb, the Egyptian father of modern violent jihad, the country has a massive problem. Far from addressing the problem, right now Britain is a country that cannot even talk about the fact that it might have a problem.
Any new Thatcher must, as she did, address an underlying British economic malaise. Thanks to net zero energy policies, extraordinary restrictive regulations, high taxes and excessive public spending, the UK has had remarkably little per capita growth over the past decade.
But far more important than fixing the economy, Britain needs a state machinery capable of addressing issues of culture and cohesion. Old assumptions, and long established precedents governing citizenship, will need to change.
For that to happen, the next Thatcher needs to recognize that much of the machinery of the British state is dysfunctional. Reform is overdue.
Judges need to come under some sort of democratic oversight. Senior civil servants must no longer be afforded the luxury of deciding whether to implement policies that clash with their preferences. Those elected to Parliament, not unelected officials, need to be able to decide if the country can afford to cut taxes.
Britain can only be pulled back from the brink by a leader that recognizes that it is time to treat the judiciary and the administrative state as Thatcher once treated the trade unions.

A British police commissioner suggested he was willing to arrest Elon Musk, who is a U.S. citizen, for highlighting the extreme acts of violence and riots committed by Muslim gangs in England in online posts on his platform X.
&#8220;We will throw the full force of the law at people,&#8221; British Met Police Commissioner Mark Rowley said during a recent interview. &#8220;And whether you&#8217;re in this country committing crimes on the streets or committing crimes from further afield online, we will come after you.&#8221;
Rowley’s remarks come amid ongoing protests and riots in the United Kingdom in response to the killing of three young girls during a mass-stabbing attack that left several more injured.
A reporter asked Rowley about &#8220;high profile figures&#8221; who were allegedly &#8220;whipping up the hatred&#8221; that he was claiming was happening online.
&#8220;I’m even thinking of the likes of Elon Musk getting involved,&#8221; the reporter said. &#8220;What are you considering when it comes to dealing with people who are whipping up this kind of behavior from behind a keyboard and maybe in a different country?&#8221;
&#8220;Being a keyboard warrior does not make you safe from the law,” Rowley responded.
“You can be guilty of offenses of, of incitement, of stirring up racial hatred. There are numerous terrorist offenses regarding the sort of publishing of material. All of those offenses are in play if people are provoking hatred and violence on the streets, and we will come after those individuals, just as we will physically confront on the streets the thugs and the yobs who are taking, who are causing the problems for communities.&#8221;
Right-wing protesters responded to the mass-stabbing incident by expressing outrage over rates of Muslim immigration to the United Kingdom, and the suspected terrorists who have entered the country.
Large Muslim gangs responded to the protests by marching around with weapons, rioting, and attacking people.

Ayaan Hirsi Ali, an activist and a former Muslim who is now Christian, highlighted the actions of the “Muslim Defence League” in a post on X, saying that it&#8217;s &#8220;a group of loosely organized young Muslim men have been parading around their towns armed with weapons in response to what they perceive as a threat to Muslim communities. They have largely been goaded on by the rhetoric of senior politicians such as Sir Keir Starmer.&#8221;
She noted that there has been no press conference to talk about the threat of &#8220;&#8216;far-right&#8217; Muslim gangs – young men walking around their towns with machetes and pipes. In fact, videos have emerged of police in Stoke encouraging Muslim men to discard their knifes at the mosque.&#8221;
&#8220;In organizing an amnesty for this group, in these terms, the police essentially treat Muslims as a separate community over whom legitimate authority lies in the Mosque, not the state. They might be accused of policing along sectarian lines,&#8221; she added. &#8220;This has culminated in a sense, amongst Britons, that there is a two-tiered application of policing. That minority &#8216;communities&#8217; are treated with kid gloves in comparison to native Britons. The moniker &#8216;Two-Tier Keir&#8217; has latched itself onto the man who has only been Prime Minister for a month.&#8221;

Tommy Robinson: In all honesty, I didn&#8217;t want to do this. I didn&#8217;t want to be the person. I wanted to take a stand, but I didn&#8217;t want to. I wanted to be successful in business. I wanted to make money. My passion was making money. I was good at it. We were doing well as a family. But I wanted someone to speak about it.
Jordan B. Peterson: Do you know the parable of the rich man?
Robinson: No. What&#8217;s that?
Peterson: Well, it is a Gospel story. I&#8217;m going to tell it because I see the problem that you are in. There is a scene in the Gospels where Christ is traveling in a cart, and a rich prince jumps in to accompany him, and he tells Christ that he&#8217;s done everything he should do in his life to be a moral person. He has followed the commandments, he honors his parents, and so on. But he is still dissatisfied deep in his soul, and Christ asks him about his situation. He tells Christ he&#8217;s rich, that he has all these concerns going, and Jesus says to him, I&#8217;m afraid you&#8217;re going to have to sell everything you own and follow me. And the disciples are shorted right out by this, and they say, if that is the cost of salvation, who is going to pay that?
I was thinking about that and the story of Jonah at the same time when you were talking because Jonah is called upon by God to speak the truth, and he just heads in the other direction. He thinks exactly like you thought: I don&#8217;t think so. Who would do that? Who wants to do that?
But that still does not quite answer the question; you said that you are caught, right? You are pulled because, on the one hand, you want to have your life and you want to be successful; on the other hand, you want to tell the truth. So the name was a compromise between that.
Robinson: I wore a mask for a year. Almost no one knew who I was for a year.
Peterson: So looking back on that now, do you think that was a mistake that you made to protect your life and your enterprise? I am not saying that was not justifiable because there is a price, obviously, for anonymity. There is a price for not being public. It breeds suspicion, for example. What do you think about that?

Robinson: So I think the best thing that ever happened was when I got unmasked — the best. It was. Not for me. I was terrified. So there was a Times newspaper reporter called Stephen Bird, and I&#8217;d been hiding for a year. I&#8217;m talking about all these issues secretly on radios, and I&#8217;m giving the name Tommy Robinson, and I&#8217;m turning up to demonstrations with a mask on my face. No one saw my face, so no one knew who I was. So there was lots of confusion. Who is this guy? No one knew. 
And then a Times newspaper journalist turned up at my mum&#8217;s house and said, “Where’s Stephen?” And my mum rang me and said, “There&#8217;s a journalist here looking for you.” And I knew then, ok, this is it. And I went to meet the journalist and he said, “You&#8217;re on the front page of the Times newspaper tomorrow, Stephen. Your life changes tomorrow.” And I was terrified, if I&#8217;m honest. Absolutely terrified. Because then I was nationally known at this point. 
So, we set up United People of Luton, and then after our second protest where we got to the War Memorial, we put the video online. And this Islamic group of jihadists, they held an Islamic roadshow in Birmingham. And they had a big banner that said, “Jesus was a Muslim,” and there&#8217;s hundreds of them. They stop a young 11-year-old white Christian boy called Sean in the shopping center who&#8217;s with his friend, and they get him up on stage and they convert him to Islam. As they convert him to Islam, they&#8217;re all cheering “Allahu Akbar.” And I watched it then from Luton and said, “No, they can&#8217;t do this. That cannot be allowed to happen in a city center for a child.” So I said, “All right lads,” to the lads from Luton, “we&#8217;re going to Birmingham. We&#8217;re going to move this from Luton. This isn&#8217;t a Luton issue. This is a national issue.”
We went to Birmingham, and we formed the English Defence League. And that&#8217;s where the name English Defence League come from. Now, when we went to Birmingham, we went as a group of 50 — 50 men from Luton. We got violently battered. This is where my first awakening to the media come. So, there&#8217;s a picture up. (This boy wasn’t with us.) There’s a young English boy at a bus stop with a green top on and gangs of Muslims just come from everywhere. They battered everyone. And there&#8217;s a picture in the national newspaper, and they&#8217;re jumping on this boy&#8217;s head. And underneath the picture, it says, “A fascist is attacked by anti-fascists.” 
I&#8217;m looking at it, and I remember I had an awakening to everything because I went from working on a building site to six months later leading the biggest protest movement in Europe’s scene. And when we went to Birmingham as a group of 50, we had English Defence League tops on, and it said, “Luton Division,” the name of our town. And these images went everywhere, of English men getting chased and beaten. So this was Birmingham, and our first banner said, “Victims of Jihad in Nigeria. We stand with you,” because obviously, I was down the rabbit hole.
I was seeing on Christmas Day, five [Nigerian] Christian churches were blown to pieces. Didn’t make the BBC news. I was following all these stories around the world of Christians facing persecution at the hands of jihad. No one cared. So we went to Birmingham before, [saying,] “Let’s highlight a lot of issues here. Let&#8217;s make this a point.” And we had banners. We had placards, but we got violently —  The police had to lock us in a building for two hours because they couldn&#8217;t control the streets. Then they got buses and put us on the buses to get us out of there, and all the windows were coming in. There was riots going on. 
So from this, we then went back to Luton, and then we saw a Christian church in Manchester that had been taken over by Muslims, which there’s been another video go viral just weeks ago. Similar situation. It was in the area of Longsight, and they were bulldozing over a Christian graveyard, graves and headstones. So, I was watching it going, they can&#8217;t do this. How come no one&#8217;s talking about this in the town? Where&#8217;s the local political voice? Where&#8217;s the politicians?
Now, we went from a group of 50 men in Birmingham being violently beaten, to going on all the messaging boards of English football clubs, then turned up in Manchester, and when we got there, there was thousands of young Englishmen had come from everywhere. And from the start, because of the violence in Birmingham, the men had come with an attitude of, “No, we&#8217;re not backing down.” So that was sort of the start and the birth of the English Defence League, which every city you went to, there was a justified reason for going there, but no one ever spoke about that.

And then I realized very quickly that everything I&#8217;d seen in Luton, everything I talked about in Luton, was happening in every town and city. So then I started meeting families; their daughters were missing for weeks, and then I started hearing all these stories. And it&#8217;s one thing to read about grooming, and that&#8217;s why I made a five-part series — the one you talked about that you watched — because you don&#8217;t get to feel the pain. I&#8217;m sitting with a mother, a father, and a brother who&#8217;s 13-year-old daughter has been missing for five days, and the police are doing nothing. 
I remember going on big chat shows in 2009. Jeremy Paxman was the most feared BBC presenter, and he had a show called Newsnight. And when I went on, everyone was all our opposition at the time, and I was terrified again. And it was the first time my mum— So my family had been crying since the time I started my activism because my mum was threatened of her job. There was violence, police raids, terrorist plots. So my family were begging me and begging me to stop. And I went on this Jeremy Paxman show. And I said to him, “I don&#8217;t expect you to understand, but I expect you to listen. Our daughters are being taken. They&#8217;re being groomed; they&#8217;re being raped. They&#8217;re being prostituted in every town and city.” And he said, “You expect us to believe…” And it hasn&#8217;t aged well for him at all. Because in the early days, we were condemned as fabricating stories and making this up. So you understand the level where I&#8217;m at.
With the father from Blackpool, the gang took his daughter. The father and the son would ring the phone, and he&#8217;d have to listen while they were raping his daughter. So, we go across the country — and I&#8217;ve done a presentation called “The Rape of Britain,” as well as documentaries — and I go back to us marching through Telford. And now, the arrest rates for these crimes, if you do a graph, there&#8217;s none. The English Defence League forms in 2009. By 2010 and 2011, the arrests are going through the roof. We didn&#8217;t expect any credit for it or any recognition for it, but the government were then faced with something they knew was going on.

On October 7 last year, ordinary civilians in Israel were the victims of extraordinary savagery. Hamas terrorists killed young people at a music festival, often in gruesome ways. Families were slaughtered in suburban homes. By any civilized moral standards, there ought to be overwhelming sympathy for a country subjected to such savagery.
Instead, throughout the Western world, we have witnessed endless anti-Israel protests. Why?
Part of the reason is demographics. In Britain, for example, in 2001 there were one and half million Muslims. Today, there are almost four million.
That is not to say that every — or even most — British Muslims are anti-Israel. But it does explain the scale and size of some recent protests.
So, too, on American university campuses. There have been frequent anti-Israel student protests, often at so-called elite universities. It is perhaps not a coincidence that there has also been a rapid rise in the number of students with Middle Eastern backgrounds at such universities.
Again, not every student from the Middle East is necessarily anti-Israel. But the reservoir of potential anti-Israel student protesters is certainly larger than before.
The rise in anti-Israel sentiment in the West clearly can’t only be about demographics. Many, if not most, of those protesting against Israel are not those with a Middle Eastern background, but those on the political Left.
Why then do those on the Left have such animus towards Israel? Why do they seem to suspend ordinary moral standards whenever Israel is involved?
When it comes to Ukraine, for example, those on the political Left – correctly in my view – see Ukraine as a brave country, rightfully taking a stand against a vastly bigger aggressor.
So why don’t they see Israel that way?
Israel wasn’t just attacked on October 7. From the Six Day War to the Yom Kippur War, Israel has been on the receiving end of relentless aggression.
Israel, a country smaller than Vermont, is surrounded by larger foes intent on destroying her and eradicating her people, as Hamas showed us a few months ago.
Progressive opinion in America and Britain is of the view that the government of Ukraine must not try to accommodate Russia or make concessions. So why do they demand that Israel call a ceasefire?
London, Washington and Berlin are full of leaders who want to supply Ukraine with weapons. Why then do many also demand that America and Europe stop giving Israel the tools to defend herself?
The last time there was unequivocal support for Israel in the West was during the Entebbe raid in Uganda in 1976. I remember the morning of the Entebbe raid well. A young child at the time, I happened to be living close by in Kampala.
When Israel pulled off a daring rescue mission, freeing the trapped hostages from the hijacked Air France plane at Entebbe — where Benjamin Netanyahu’s brother Yonatan lost his life — there was rejoicing across the political spectrum.
Today, when Israel attempts to rescue her hostages in Gaza she is treated by many media outlets with scorn. Look at how posters of Israeli hostages held in Gaza have been torn down in cities throughout Europe and America.
As my friend Douglas Murray has pointed out, when a cat or dog goes missing in London or Paris or New York, people will often put up a poster about the missing pet. If we saw someone take down a poster about a missing pet, we would be offended. We’d know it was wrong. Where is the outrage against those removing posters of the Bibas kids?
One reason Israel is held to a different standard is anti-Semitism.
Anti-Semitism is a famously shape shifting virus. At one time, Jews were hated for their religion, then for their race. Today, it seems to me, it is for their nation.
Israel is loathed by many progressives because as a country, Israel embodies the notion of national self-determination. For many centuries, Jewish families toasted each other at Passover with the phrase: “Next year in Jerusalem.”
And then in 1948, almost miraculously, it came true.
National self-determination offends elite opinion formers. They revere supranationalism instead. They venerate the UN, the ICC and the EU.
Progressives prefer laws made by international treaty over those passed by elected national legislatures. Progressives prefer fealty to rules made by the global community over obligations to an actual community.
Israel’s success offends the Left not only because she is a national state, but because she demonstrates the success of Western society.
If all cultures were of equal worth, why then does a small state that could fit inside Vermont produce so much enterprise and innovation?
If there is an equivalence between cultures, why has post 1948 Israel seen such success amid a sea of Middle Eastern failure and autocracy?
Those who loathe Israel don’t just hate the Jewish nation state, they despise all nation states – including another phenomenally successful Republic, started not in 1948 but in 1776.
If they merely hate Israel, why do they burn the American flag?
America and the Western way of life is their intended target.
Whether we like it or not, those of us who love America, who see Western culture as a sublime human achievement, have no choice but to side with and support Israel, against those who seek to destroy us all.
Those who hate Israel hate us too.
