Texas Democrat Senate candidate James Talarico recently suggested that the November election will not be “free and fair.” But when in a position to improve election integrity in his state, Talarico said he hated the effort with “every fiber of my being.&#8221;
As a state lawmaker, Talarico was one of the Democrats who fled the state after a Republican-backed effort in 2021 to require proof of identity when voting by mail and increasing the oversight of poll watchers. After Democrats failed to block passage of the bill, Talarico called the election safeguards “voter suppression” and said he hated the proposal.
Five years later, Talarico says he is worried that he will have to overperform to beat Republican Ken Paxton in a critical Senate race because he does not think the election will be held under &#8220;free and fair&#8221; conditions. But he has historically fought measures that would ensure secure elections.
Talarico described the 2021 Texas election integrity bill that tightened up mail-in voting as “an immoral, anti-American, anti-Democratic bill,” adding that it was “one that I hate with every fiber of my being.&#8221; He also critiqued the bills provisions on poll watchers and added that he didn’t think that poll watchers “should be in the polling place at all.”
Those comments were made in 2023 during an appearance on the &#8220;Lone Star Left&#8221; show unearthed by The Daily Wire. 
“We flew to D.C. to really beg national Democrats, including Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and the leaders in the House and the Senate, to pass federal voting rights legislation, because that&#8217;s the only way that we were going to stop the voter suppression bill here in Texas,” Talarico said. 
After he and fellow state Democrats realized that the Senate would not void the filibuster to ram through a bill targeting state election integrity laws, they returned to Texas to weaken the proposal from Republicans.

The <a href="https://capitol.texas.gov/BillLookup/Text.aspx?LegSess=871&amp;Bill=SB1">law</a> opposed by Talarico created uniform statewide voting hours, added a requirement for people to provide an ID number when voting by mail, ended drive-through voting, and enhanced the jurisdiction of poll watchers. 
Now running against Paxton, Talarico said he will have to overperform to get past “voter suppression” and other “shenanigans” during the November election. 
“We already have a lot of voter suppression in Texas. It&#8217;s baked into our laws. I fought fiercely against many of those laws when they were coming through the legislature,” Talarico <a href="https://x.com/BreitbartNews/status/2058891809917468884">said</a> recently. “We&#8217;re probably gonna have to win by a little more than we would normally have to in a completely free and fair election.”
Paxton has made a key plank of his campaign support for the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act (SAVE) Act, which would require photo identification to vote in federal elections. He promised to drop out of the Texas GOP primary if the Senate passed the SAVE Act which did not happen before he defeated incumbent Senator John Cornyn.
Talarico, for his part, has said he opposes requiring ID to vote. 
“I oppose having to have a driver’s license to vote,” he <a href="https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1939441220021051">said</a>. “I oppose voter ID. Currently it&#8217;s the law in Texas, but I opposed that law… there are a lot of Texans, currently hundreds of thousands who don’t have a driver’s license.” 
To get a driver’s license in Texas, a person must provide documentation to complete an application form, provide proof of citizenship or legal residency, proof of Texas residency, and pass a written and driving exam.
“James Talafreako is openly admitting his only path to victory in ruby red Texas is eliminating voter ID and allowing illegal aliens to vote,” GOP spokesman Zach Kraft told The Daily Wire. “MAGA Warrior Ken Paxton will slam the door on Democrats&#8217; election fraud nonsense by getting the SAVE America Act signed into law to ensure only Americans vote in our elections.”

Senator Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) funded a trip to the Super Bowl with cash from a joint campaign account he shared with disgraced former Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA).
According to a <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2026/06/21/gallego-campaign-donors-travel-00969326">report</a> from POLITICO, Gallego used campaign donations to fund a number of private excursions — including child care expenses and family trips to Disney World in addition to Super Bowl LVII in Glendale, Arizona, in 2023.
Gallego <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/swalwells-bff-brings-back-infamous-biden-lackey-to-manage-crisis-response">recently hired</a> Andrew Bates, who served as deputy press secretary for former President Joe Biden, to manage crisis communications related to his long friendship with Swalwell as well as any interactions with the Senate Ethics Committee — interactions that may be coming sooner rather than later.
As POLITICO reported, Gallego&#8217;s campaign finance records reveal that he used money from his leadership PAC to pay for personal travel — trips to Disneyland and Disney World as well as to Chicago and Miami — and other personal and family expenses. At least once, the report claims, Gallego used campaign cash or money from his PAC to pay his mother-in-law $400 for child care — and since 2019, withdrew more than $18,000 for child care-related expenses.
Gallego, according to the outlet, appeared to concede that he had spent campaign funds on child care, saying in a statement, &#8220;This is not breaking news. With the rising costs of child care and the burden it has on the budgets of American families, Democrats and Republicans in Congress and the White House alike regularly travel with their wives and children, as is permitted by the FEC.&#8221;
The FEC does allow payments designated for child care, travel, and food — provided the events are campaign-related. Any expenses that would exist regardless of the campaign are not covered by those exemptions.
In addition to managing the questions likely to come from the Senate Ethics Committee regarding his spending habits, Gallego has worked to distance himself from Swalwell — his friend and former roommate — as he prepares for a potential presidential run in 2028.
Since the report also details the Super Bowl trip with Swalwell and his wife — paid for with funds from a joint campaign account that he and Swalwell shared — maintaining that distance may prove more difficult in the future.

Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) delivered a Bible-based — and very personal — Father&#8217;s Day message specifically aimed at children who were growing up without fathers.
Scott joined CNN anchor Jake Tapper on Sunday morning&#8217;s broadcast of &#8220;State of the Union,&#8221; where he talked about the fact that he&#8217;d grown up from the age of seven without his own father present — and then, when he married, he&#8217;d become a stepfather to his new wife&#8217;s adult children.
He spoke about <a href="https://x.com/CNNSOTU/status/2068700521251119222">advice</a> from a pastor, who&#8217;d reminded him that he had to &#8220;earn the right to influence&#8221; the lives of the adult children in his newly-blended family — and he said that advice had so far served him well. Comedian Bill Maher scorched Democrats — former Vice President Kamala Harris chief among them — for ignoring and even mocking the idea of patriotism until they needed to win elections.
Maher, during his Friday broadcast of HBO&#8217;s &#8220;Real Time,&#8221; scolded Democrats who were refusing to celebrate the United States as it passed it&#8217;s 250th anniversary, arguing that they were only making themselves look petty and small in their efforts to attack President Donald Trump.

But after Biden’s disastrous final year in office, his frequent verbal stumbles and apparent confusion can no longer be viewed in isolation. The increasing number and frequency of such stumbles — both cognitive and physical — caused many to question over whether he was even capable of serving another term.
While the Obama Center incident alone was not unique, it reflected the kind of public episode that had dogged Biden throughout the final stretch of his presidency and later became central to the debate over his eventually-abandoned re-election campaign.
Those concerns, in spite of the administrations claims to the contrary, were not based only on viral videos or partisan commentary. A 2024 Daily Wire analysis of official White House transcript corrections found that <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-speaking-errors-doubled-in-last-year-analysis-of-official-transcript-corrections-finds">Biden’s speaking errors doubled</a> in the 12 months leading up to his June 27 debate against Donald Trump. The analysis reviewed nearly 400 official “speeches and remarks” transcripts, where White House staff and stenographers crossed out incorrect words or inserted corrected language in brackets.
According to the analysis, the White House corrected 33 Biden errors in June 2023, a rate of 3.2 errors per 10,000 words. By May 2024, staff made 51 corrections, producing a rate of 7.2 errors per 10,000 words after Biden spoke roughly 70,000 words that month. The outlet noted that Biden spoke only about half his usual number of words in official remarks in June before the debate brought new scrutiny to his public performance.
The corrections included misstated numbers, names, dates, and factual references. Biden mixed up billions and millions, debt and deficit, and even basic dates. In one widely circulated example after the debate, Biden attempted to reassure supporters that he would remain in the race and defeat Trump, saying, “I will beat him again in 2020.”
A <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ramblin-man-bidens-tendency-to-ramble-is-twice-as-bad-as-when-he-was-vp-analysis-finds">second Daily Wire analysis</a> found that Biden’s tendency to stop mid-sentence, restart, correct himself, or drift into tangents appeared twice as frequently as it had when he was vice president. That analysis reviewed thousands of official transcripts across 11 years and found that Biden’s fragmented speaking patterns increased sharply between the end of his vice presidency in 2017 and the beginning of his presidency in 2021, then only became more pronounced during his term.
Concerns about his mental acuity became more difficult to separate from Biden’s public image after his June 2024 debate against Trump, which intensified scrutiny of both his age and public performance. Less than a month later, Biden ended his re-election campaign.
The Chicago video was a brief episode at the end of a public ceremony. But it follows the same pattern that made Biden’s public appearances a political liability during the 2024 campaign, as his verbal missteps and moments of confusion became harder to ignore.

Embattled former first son Hunter Biden published a lengthy critique of President Donald Trump&#8217;s White House celebrations ahead of America&#8217;s 250th birthday — particularly the UFC fight that took place on the South Lawn on Sunday.
Biden&#8217;s father, former President Joe Biden, hosted a White House LGBTQ Pride celebration during which a trans-identifying man flashed his fake breasts on the South Lawn — but Hunter Biden argued that it was the UFC fight that crossed the line, disgracing the people&#8217;s house.
Biden&#8217;s comments were a direct response to podcaster Joe Rogan, who had taken part in the White House events that night, after he welcomed anyone who had a problem with the UFC fight there to &#8220;shut the f*ck up.&#8221;
&#8220;Dear Joe, I wish I could sit down with you face to face and explain why so many of us were offended by the UFC fight on the South Lawn of the White House,&#8221; Biden wrote in an <a href="https://x.com/HunterBiden/status/2067549698861277391">X post</a>.
He began by praising the UFC for building a great brand, saying that the organization itself had nothing to do with his distaste for the event.
&#8220;For me, it had nothing to do with the UFC or who showed up for the fights. The brand you and Dana have built is a bona fide American success story. More power to you. As for the fighters, in my book, anyone brave enough to put it all on the line in the arena is remarkable to witness. Their dedication and discipline inspire me. I don’t understand anyone who can’t admire that,&#8221; he said. &#8220;And as for the people who attended, I, for one, love Shane Gillis. I think he’s hilarious and brilliant. It was a show. A once-in-a-lifetime spectacle. I can’t blame anyone for wanting to witness it firsthand.&#8221;
&#8220;My problem is that I believe some of our public spaces are sacred,&#8221; he added without a trace of irony. &#8220;And unlike many of the great powers that came before us, these American monuments belong to all of us. Not to whoever happens to hold power at the moment. The White House does not belong to Donald Trump. It does not belong to any President. It belongs to the people.&#8221;
Biden went on to argue that Trump was treating the White House like his own personal and private &#8220;Colosseum&#8221; and complained that he had held the UFC fight at the White House specifically to show the American people that he believed he could do anything he wanted with the property.
&#8220;To treat it as Caesar treated the Colosseum is antithetical to everything our founding fathers fought for. This is not Rome. Presidents are not emperors doling out bread and circuses for the peasants. The White House is the People’s House. This &#8216;celebration&#8217; could have happened in any stadium within a stone’s throw of the South Lawn. No one would have had an issue with it. But that was obviously Donald Trump’s whole point,&#8221; Biden complained. &#8220;By holding the event on the South Lawn, what he was saying to the rest of us is: &#8216;This is my house. I own it. I will do with it what I please. I’ll build a colosseum and have the gladiators fight under my gaze. I’ll tear down the East Wing. I’ll pave over the Rose Garden. I’ll cover everything in gold and marble. I’ll erase the names of all the men who came before me.'&#8221;
&#8220;The fights,&#8221; Biden insisted, &#8220;were an exhibition of imperial domination, not a celebration of our 250th anniversary as a democracy.&#8221;
&#8220;The White House belongs to us. All of us. The person who sits behind the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office is nothing more than an honored guest. A temporary caretaker. The President is our servant. Not our Caesar,&#8221; Biden concluded, adding in his postscript that he was still down for a &#8220;cage match&#8221; with Donald Trump Jr., so long as it took place &#8220;anywhere but the South Lawn.&#8221;
Adding a twist of irony, former Secretary of State <a href="https://x.com/HillaryClinton/status/2066171075495616809">Hillary Clinton</a> issued a similar statement as the UFC fights began, as she reminded everyone that the White House belonged to the people and should be respected by the presidents who had only a temporary residence there: &#8220;It&#8217;s not his house. It&#8217;s our house.&#8221;
Clinton was immediately <a href="https://x.com/BuzzPatterson/status/2066214469286727869">reminded</a> that her husband, former President Bill Clinton, had shown his respect for the people&#8217;s house by carrying on an affair with an intern in the Oval Office.

Following Tuesday&#8217;s broadcast, Behar sat down with longtime executive producer Brian Teta for the &#8220;Behind the Table&#8221; podcast — and they jumped right into a conversation about Vance&#8217;s appearance and how he&#8217;d surprised them by being genuinely funny.
&#8220;Listen, he talked about his giant head for a while. I enjoyed that,&#8221; Teta smiled, referencing Vance&#8217;s claim that people often only saw his big head and didn&#8217;t notice he was tall. &#8220;He sat down with a joke, I thought that was pretty good, his press team told him that this was a table of MAGA Republicans —&#8221;

Teta interjected then to say that Vance had admitted backstage that appearing on &#8220;The View&#8221; had made him more nervous than preparing for his vice presidential debate against Governor Tim Walz (D-MN).
&#8220;He should be,&#8221; Behar shot back, arguing that the ladies with whom she shared the table brought &#8220;many receipts&#8221; when they presented their questions. &#8220;Truthfully, as I said to you in the beginning of this conversation, I don&#8217;t think that he&#8217;s a bad guy. So if he runs against, say, [Governor] Gavin Newsom (D-CA), that will be an interesting debate to see those two because they&#8217;re both intelligent.&#8221;
During the podcast, Behar and Teta also revealed that Vance had set no ground rules for the interview — meaning that they could ask him absolutely anything and he had no advance knowledge of what they might want to talk about — and that he&#8217;d agreed to those terms without contest.
Teta then said the most important thing about the interview was the &#8220;bar&#8221; it set — meaning that any future presidential or vice presidential candidate would be unwise to refuse an appearance on &#8220;The View.&#8221;
&#8220;They all will. They have to stop here. They want the female vote,&#8221; Behar declared, suggesting that candidates could only access American female voters through their show.
Teta said he&#8217;d like to invite Secretary of State Marco Rubio to appear, and Behar shot back, &#8220;We&#8217;ll put him on with Ana Navarro, that will be interesting to watch. Talk about a cage match.&#8221;

Businessman Rick Jackson has won the Republican nomination for governor of Georgia, defeating Trump-endorsed Lt. Gov. Burt Jones in one of the most expensive and closely watched primary battles of the 2026 cycle.
Decision Desk HQ projected Jackson as the winner Tuesday night, capping a campaign in which the healthcare executive spent more than $100 million of his own fortune to overcome endorsements from both President Donald Trump and outgoing Republican Gov. Brian Kemp. Jackson will now face former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, who secured the Democratic nomination in May, in what is expected to be one of the most competitive governor&#8217;s races in the country.
The result represents a rare setback for Trump&#8217;s endorsement operation. The president backed Jones nearly a year ago and repeatedly reaffirmed his support throughout the campaign. Kemp, despite his often-complicated relationship with Trump, <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2026/06/16/georgia-brian-kemp-senate-governor-races-00962993">joined</a> the President and also endorsed Jones on Sunday.
Yet Jackson&#8217;s massive personal spending transformed the race. A relative political outsider, Jackson built statewide name recognition through an unprecedented advertising blitz centered on immigration enforcement, tax cuts, healthcare manufacturing, and his personal story of growing up in Georgia&#8217;s foster care system before becoming a billionaire entrepreneur.
The contest also revealed an unusual split within the Trump political orbit. While President Trump stood firmly behind Jones, Donald Trump Jr. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/house-divided-don-jr-praises-governor-hopeful-running-against-trumps-pick">publicly praised</a> Jackson on the eve of the election, highlighting his investments in domestic pharmaceutical manufacturing and energy infrastructure. Trump Jr. stopped short of issuing a formal endorsement but described Jackson as a &#8220;good man&#8221; who had helped advance America First economic priorities.
&#8220;Regardless of what happens in the Georgia Governor&#8217;s race tomorrow, we should celebrate the patriots building up MAGA and an America First economy like Rick Jackson has,&#8221; Trump Jr. wrote Monday. Jackson&#8217;s victory suggests that enormous personal wealth and outsider appeal can still overcome even the combined political weight of political kingpins like Trump and Kemp in a Republican primary. The race was widely viewed as a test of influence for both men. Trump remains the dominant figure in Republican politics nationally, while Kemp leaves office as one of the most popular governors in the country and a potential 2028 presidential contender.
Attention now shifts to the general election, where Jackson will face Bottoms, the former Atlanta mayor and Biden administration official who has long been considered one of Georgia Democrats&#8217; strongest statewide candidates.
With Georgia continuing to occupy the center of the nation&#8217;s political battleground map — perhaps only behind Pennsylvania in swing-state importance — the Jackson-Bottoms contest is expected to become one of the most closely watched governor&#8217;s races in America this November.

Georgia Republicans on Tuesday chose Rep. Mike Collins as their Senate nominee to face Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff in a race that could help determine control of the upper chamber.
With half of the results reported, <a href="https://x.com/DecisionDeskHQ/status/2067036048463462609">Collins</a> leads former Tennessee football coach Derek Dooley with 53.3% of the vote. <a href="https://votes.decisiondeskhq.com/races/2026-06-16/georgia-us-senate-republican-runoff">Decision Desk HQ</a> called the race at 8:05p.m. local time.
Collins and Dooley advanced to a runoff on May 22 after no candidate passed the 50% threshold, earning <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2026/us/elections/results-georgia-primary.html">40.5% and 30.2%</a> of the vote, respectively. 
The contest presented another test between the power of the MAGA movement and the Republican establishment, with President Donald Trump and Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp once again at odds.
Over the weekend, Trump weighed into the race for the first time, throwing his political clout behind Collins. 
“It is my Great Honor to endorse ‘MAGA’ Mike Collins, a Highly Respected Congressman who has been with me from the very beginning, and is running for the United States Senate in Georgia, a very special place to me, and where we just had a BIG Presidential Election Win with the Most Votes Received by any single Candidate in Georgia’s History, for any Election,” <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/116754019906128212">Trump wrote on Monday morning.</a> “Mike is strongly supported by the most Highly Respected MAGA Patriots in Georgia and beyond, and many Republicans in the U.S. House and Senate — He is a WARRIOR and WINNER!”
 Trump <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-makes-endorsement-ahead-of-critical-senate-runoff">first endorsed</a> Collins on Saturday. 
“Mike has to beat a Republican Opponent before he gets to Ossoff,” Trump <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/116746683568766400">said</a> on Saturday in his first post endorsing Collins. “I don’t know Derek Dooley, and neither does anyone else, but he seems like a nice person. Unfortunately, he has lived outside of Georgia for most of his life, didn’t vote in 2020 or 2016, and said that I lost Georgia in 2020 when, in actuality, the facts have now proven that I won by a lot!”
Governor Kemp backed Dooley, who said the former football coach was “our one and only opportunity to knock Jon Ossoff off.”

Kemp, a popular two-term governor, did not get his way. Trump, widely seen as the kingmaker of Republican politics, has consistently prevailed in Republican primaries, with few exceptions.
Last month, Trump made another last-minute intervention in a GOP Senate runoff, endorsing Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who defeated Senator John Cornyn in a landslide margin. The president also knocked off longtime Republican Congressman Thomas Massie in Kentucky and a handful of Indiana state lawmakers who bucked his redistricting push. 
Whether his hand-picked candidate will prevail in November presents a different question. Ossoff, the only incumbent Democratic senator in a state that voted for Trump, holds an early advantage going into November, <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/polls/georgia-us-senate-election-polls-2026.html">according to most polls</a>.
Holding Ossoff’s seat would go a long way in Democratic efforts to flip the 53-47 Republican-controlled Senate.

Backlash against Major League Baseball is continuing to build after the league condemned and warned Christian baseball players for counter-signaling or outright rejecting an LGBT &#8220;Pride Night&#8221; last week.
As highlighted by <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/mlb-targets-christian-players-who-rejected-lgbt-pride-night">The Daily Wire</a>, several San Francisco Giants players marked their gay pride-themed baseball caps with Bible passages, while another player refused to wear the cap at all. In response, the MLB boasted to The Athletic — a subsidiary of The New York Times — that it &#8220;warned&#8221; these players against &#8220;future violations.&#8221;
Conservative commentators quickly reacted, condemning the MLB for supposedly preaching &#8220;inclusion&#8221; while targeting the handful of players who expressed their Christian beliefs. The MLB also caught the attention of Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier, who posted, &#8220;Do you practice religious discrimination in Florida, [MLB]? You’ll be hearing from my office soon.&#8221;

Missouri Republican Sen. Josh Hawley is demanding answers, too. &#8220;What does MLB think it’s doing penalizing players for their Christian faith? They owe us some answers. Right now,&#8221; he wrote on X.
The post captions a letter asking MLB Commissioner Robert Manfred about the apparent discrimination. Demanding answers by June 19, Hawley asks for information on &#8220;[a]ny policy, directive, or expectation-formal or informal governing whether players are required, encouraged, or expected to wear Pride Night caps, jerseys, or other themed apparel, and whether a player who declines to do so faces any consequence beyond the league&#8217;s written rules, including in playing time, roster or assignment decisions, club media and promotion, or standing within the organization.&#8221;
He also asks for information on &#8220;[a]ll approvals, authorizations, or directives by which the league created, permitted, or arranged the display of &#8216;Black Lives Matter,&#8217; &#8216;United for Change,&#8217; or comparable messaging on jerseys, mounds, or equipment, and any guidance by which the league relaxed its equipment rules to allow players to display social or political messages.&#8221;
The senator ended the letter with the following message: &#8220;The freedom to live out one&#8217;s faith does not end at the ballpark gate. Americans of every creed are entitled to confidence that the institutions of our national pastime will not single out religious expression for punishment while celebrating messages of the league&#8217;s own choosing. I trust the league shares that commitment, and I look forward to your prompt and complete response.&#8221;

As The Daily Wire previously reported, starting Giants pitcher <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/giants-pitcher-refuses-to-hide-christian-faith-during-pride-night">Landen Roupp</a> on Friday etched a Bible passage found in Genesis onto his Giants cap, right next to the LGBT-themed rainbow logo the team had directed him to wear. Other players, JT Brubaker and Ryan Walker, followed suit in standing up for their Christian faith, also adding Bible verses. And relief pitcher Sam Hentges refused to wear the rainbow cap altogether, stating, “I don’t morally support it.”
MLB’s chief communications officer Pat Courtney told The Athletic on Monday that these players have been “warned” about “future violations.” He said that writing on the team’s baseball caps “violates our rules.”
The Giants also addressed the Christian players. In a statement ironically about “inclusion,” the team apologized for its players apparently causing “pain and anger to many in the LGBTQ+ community.”
“The San Francisco Giants are proud to support Pride Night and the LGBTQ+ community,” the statement said. “Baseball should be a place where everyone feels welcome, respected, and valued. We also respect that individuals may make personal choices about participating in team activations. We understand that the choices by individual players have caused pain and anger to many in the LGBTQ+ community and we are sorry for that.”
“Those choices do not change our organization’s commitment to inclusion, belonging, and creating a welcoming environment for all,” the team closed. “We remain grateful to our fans, partners, employees, players, and coaches who help make Pride Night a meaningful celebration.”

Anti-Trump protesters have descended upon cities across the country on a fairly regular basis for planned “No Kings” events, but on President Donald Trump’s birthday, they opted to ditch the nationwide protests in favor of a nationwide sing-along. 
Groups gathered at preplanned &#8220;No Kings&#8221; watch parties that were designed as counterprogramming to Trump’s UFC fight on the White House lawn. The event was <a href="https://www.nokings.org/">called</a> “Rise Up, Sing Out,” and protesters chanted and sang songs together as part of the demonstration. 
The watch party was the fourth nationwide event organized by the &#8220;No Kings&#8221; movement. While it did not draw the nationwide participation seen at previous demonstrations, the two primary gatherings in New York City and Washington, D.C still attracted sizeable crowds.
The &#8220;No Kings&#8221; movement hosted a concert at Manhattan’s Town Hall, which was streamed all over the country. The concert featured performances and appearances from Bette Midler, Patti Smith, Rufus Wainwright, Sasha Allen, Joy Reid, and others. A traditional &#8220;No Kings&#8221; protest was also held in Washington, D.C., though attendance appeared significantly lower than at the movement’s previous demonstration.
Actor Robert De Niro <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/de-niro-says-he-cant-love-america-compares-country-abusive-husband">delivered</a> one of the evening’s most notable remarks, saying he could not support the country while Trump remained in office. “I can’t love a country that’s led by a racist, misogynist, xenophobic tyrant,” De Niro said. “And let me just say it: I can’t love the country that’s led by Donald Trump.”

Former MTV reality star Spencer Pratt jabbed at incumbent Mayor Karen Bass (D-Los Angeles) when he learned that the mayor&#8217;s own brother had joined a class-action lawsuit against the city over the Palisades fire.
Pratt announced that he and his wife, fellow reality star Heidi Montag, were suing Los Angeles almost immediately after the deadly fire destroyed their home — but he responded on Sunday to the news that Kenneth D. Bass was also joining the suit over the loss of his multi-million-dollar Malibu home.

The ABC affiliate revealed court documents that showed Kenneth D. Bass as a plaintiff in a case filed in May, in which he joined the class-action suit and claimed to have suffered from &#8220;smoke inhalation, severe emotional distress, mental anguish and annoyance&#8221; in addition to the loss of his home.
&#8220;As part of the mass tort legal process, Mr. and Mrs. Bass’ names were formally added as some of the nearly 40,000 victims who suffered losses. Their family connections are irrelevant, and as non-public citizens they are entitled to respectful privacy as they pursue their legal rights along with all represented victims,&#8221; attorneys for Kenneth Bass and his wife told <a href="https://nypost.com/2026/06/11/us-news/karen-bass-responds-to-brothers-lawsuit-over-palisades-fire-home-loss/">The New York Post</a>.
The home in question has not been rebuilt, and Bass sold the 1.5-acre lot — that still includes a putting green, a pool, and a guest house that were not lost in the fire — for $2 million last May.
The suit blames the city&#8217;s failure to respond to the fire on the reservoirs that were depleted: &#8220;The Palisades Fire has been a traumatic event for its victims, who through no fault of their own, went from homeowners to homeless in a matter of hours.&#8221;
During a recent campaign event, Mayor Bass — who is facing a run-off challenge in November from Democratic-socialist city councilwoman Nithya Raman — was clearly avoiding the question when she was asked three times about her brother&#8217;s addition to the suit.
&#8220;We’re not talking about that!&#8221; an aide pushed back as Bass was pressed on the issue.
