Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter was ejected early in the season opener Thursday night after he was caught spitting on Dak Prescott, the quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys.
The incident occurred following the opening kickoff at Lincoln Financial Field in Philly. As some staff tended to an injured player, Carter was seen going helmet to helmet with Prescott. 
Carter was immediately hit with a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct and ejected from the game. An Eagles staffer escorted him off the field, with cameras following and announcers expressing their shock.

Footage later emerged showing Prescott spitting towards Carter first, which is why he claimed he retaliated. But the quarterback insists he was just spitting forward and not aiming at anyone.
“I was just looking at him and I was right here in between two linemen,” Prescott said of the incident. “I guess I needed to spit, and I wasn’t going to spit on my linemen, so I just spit ahead.”
“He asked or goes, ‘Are you trying to spit on me?’ At that point, I felt like he was insulting me,” the Cowboys quarterback continued. “I wouldn’t spit on somebody, and I’m damn sure not trying to spit on you, we’re trying to play a game… He just spit on me in that moment, and it was more of a surprise than anything. The refs obviously saw it and threw a flag. I was like, ‘Hell yeah, we get 15 yards to start the game off,’ I didn’t realize he was getting ejected. Unfortunate that he did and hell of a player.”
Carter issued an apology after the game. 
“You know it was a mistake that happened on my side, and it just won’t happen again,” Carter <a href="https://www.nfl.com/news/eagles-dt-jalen-carter-ejected-before-playing-snap-after-spitting-on-cowboys-qb-dak-prescott-in-season-opener">told reporters</a> after the game. “I feel bad for just my teammates and the fans out there. You know, I’m doing it for them. I’m doing it for my family also but the fans, they show the most love. You heard them out there and not being able to start the game to finish the game just f*** me up, but it won’t happen again.”
Despite losing one of their best defensive players, the Eagles managed to eke out a win for week one, besting the Cowboys with a final score of 24-20.

Country star Zach Bryan, who is an outspoken Philadelphia Eagles fan, recently vowed never to return to Kansas City for a performance. 
“Where are all the three peat people from last year:/,” the singer <a href="https://x.com/zachlanebryan/status/1953888844342087704">wrote</a> in an X post shared on August 8. 
The 29-year-old recording artist was referring to the results of the Super Bowl earlier this year when the Eagles shut down the Chiefs as they tried to make NFL history by winning three consecutive championship games. 
“Go f*** yourself. You keep talking that sh** and yet tour here. Don’t come back,” one popular reply said.
This led to one person in the comments hitting back about the Chiefs’ record, saying that the singer has “singled out” the “same fanbase that sells out his shows.” 
Bryan chimed in, saying even though he’d been there before, he’d never come back to Chiefs territory.
“Please understand I will never play in Kansas City,” the musician wrote alongside a repost of the user’s comment.
“I’ll be about to finish my show and then get a taunting call if I play at that stadium,” Bryan added.
The same commenter asked him to “take us off your live album too,” which likely referred to one of the times he played there in the past. The song in question is most likely “Fifth of May &#8211; Live from Kansas City.” Bryan said he would do it.

Bryan wasn’t content to leave the online feud there. Instead, he posted several more statements, writing, “I missed it here guys let’s piss some people off.” 
“Bro all u have to do to piss off a chiefs fan is play a fair game of football,” the “Something in the Orange” singer added in a follow-up.
“Guys it’s okay to talk trash to each other about football [y’all] are weird as hell,” Bryan <a href="https://x.com/zachlanebryan/status/1953933950097010857">wrote</a> later.
While some Chiefs fans were annoyed by Bryan’s comments, other followers jumped to his defense.
“Amen,” one person wrote in reply to the singer advocating for trash talk amongst football fans.
“It’s football … sensitive world now man,” echoed another.

NFL clubs could be making three possible new rule changes for the upcoming season when the owners convene for their annual league meeting starting on March 30.
In several posts on <a href="https://x.com/NFLFootballOps/status/1902379885584380247">X</a> from the NFL Football Operations account, the Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions, and Philadelphia Eagles have proposed changes to rules — with at least two of them having the potential to dramatically change the game.
The first is ending the so-called “tush push” rule which is a modified version of the quarterback sneak that the Eagles made popular during the 2022 season.  The rule change, proposed by the Packers, “would prohibit an offensive player from pushing a teammate who was lined up directly behind the snapper and receives the snap, immediately at the snap.&#8221; 
While the change doesn’t include the term “tush push” that is exactly what the rule would affect, <a href="https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/article/packers-proposal-to-eliminate-tush-push-among-three-rule-changes-nfl-will-consider-for-2025-season-165729175.html">Yahoo</a> noted.
The Philadelphia Eagles have used the play more successfully than any other team and it is no surprise that an NFC team has proposed to end it after the Eagles became Super Bowl LIX champions.

The <a href="https://x.com/NFLFootballOps/status/1902379909135360049">second rule</a>, proposed by the Lions, would “eliminate an automatic first down” as a “penalty for defensive holding and illegal contact.”
The third has been proposed by the Eagles and that would be to adopt the two possession approach for overtime that was used during the playoffs but not during the regular season.
This change would grant “both teams an opportunity to possess the ball regardless of the outcome of the first possession, subject to a 15-minute overtime period in the regular season.”
During the regular season, under the current rules, the team that possesses the ball first in overtime can end the game with a touchdown.
The Lions have also proposed a change to the playoff seeding that would’ve definitely made a difference in this year’s playoffs, which resulted in the Minnesota Vikings having to take a road trip to play the Los Angeles Rams, despite having a better overall record than the Rams.
The change would “amend the current playoff seeding format to allow wild card teams to be seeded higher than division champions if the wild card team has a better” overall regular season record.
These are just proposals and will have to be voted on by all the NFL owners at the upcoming meeting before being implemented. That meeting takes place from March 30 to April 2.

After President Donald Trump became the first sitting president to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/patriotism-is-back-the-big-game-review" target="_blank" rel="noopener">attend</a> a Super Bowl, where The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22, the Eagles have now accepted an invitation to the White House to celebrate their Super Bowl victory.
Earlier this week, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/press-sec-confirms-philadelphia-eagles-enthusiastically-accepted-white-house-invite" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> that the Philadelphia Eagles will indeed visit the White House on April 28, and that the invitation was “enthusiastically accepted.” This ends weeks of speculation to the contrary when online reports suggested on February 24 that the Super Bowl champions would refrain from attending any celebration hosted by President Trump. Later that same day, the White House issued a statement questioning the veracity of these reports, citing the fact that an invitation to the team had not even been presented at that time. Now, three weeks later, we have much more clarity on the matter, and a date on the schedule. 
And there’s good reason to question whether the team would actually accept the invitation. 
Back in 2018, during President Trump’s first term, the Eagles won their first Super Bowl in franchise history. Shortly after, many players began voicing their intentions to not attend any celebration organized by the White House, and that only a small group of players would accept a visit. This led White House officials to label Philadelphia’s decision a political stunt, and the invitation was revoked completely. Because of this history, the now-debunked claims that the franchise would reject an invite this year certainly seemed plausible. It’s worth noting, however, only four players remain from that 2018 team, so in many respects, this is an entirely different group.

The Eagles were not the only championship team to cause a public stir during President Trump’s first term. Several dozen major sports teams won championships during those four years, many celebrated at the White House, many did not. Of those teams that didn’t visit Washington, not all did so in defiance. Some had scheduling conflicts, some were not invited to begin with for various reasons.
A few of the notable teams to attend were the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, Houston Astros, Pittsburgh Penguins, Washington Capitals, the Clemson Tigers, and the Alabama Crimson Tide. Alabama’s then-head coach Nick Saban made the trip a requirement, <a href="https://www.al.com/alabamafootball/2018/04/how_nick_saban_addressed_white.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stating</a>, “We&#8217;re doing this regardless of your political thoughts. We&#8217;re going, just to celebrate this team. It&#8217;s an honor. And just to be able to say that you&#8217;ve gone to the White House is something that you can cherish forever.&#8217; So that was basically the extent of that.&#8221;
Of the teams to reject President Trump publicly, the 2017 Golden State Warriors were the most memorable. Coach Steve Kerr reportedly decided <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/steve-kerr-white-house-visit-decision-warriors-championship-2017-6" target="_blank" rel="noopener">months before</a> the playoffs that he would not visit the White House should the team win the NBA championship. Point guard Steph Curry later said he &#8220;wouldn&#8217;t go,&#8221; but said he wanted to talk to his teammates before making a final decision. Following Curry&#8217;s comments, the President posted on social media, &#8220;invitation is withdrawn!&#8221; LeBron James then famously called the President a &#8220;bum&#8221; for withdrawing an invite after Curry already said he wasn&#8217;t going.
Should the Eagles stay the course and follow through with their current plan to visit the White House, President Trump would be two-for-two on championship teams in his second term, as the 2024 Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers traveled to the White House in February.

During the weekly <a href="https://x.com/nicksortor/status/1899520433092727069">press briefing</a>, Leavitt said she wanted to clear up some fake news about whether or not the White House had extended an invitation to the team, making it clear they had, and that the team was coming following the Eagles&#8217; victory against the Kansas City Chiefs during Super Bowl LIX.
“I can confirm that the Philadelphia Eagles will be here at the White House to celebrate their Super Bowl victory,&#8221; Leavitt said.

The article was then shared by the account called <a href="https://x.com/PHLEaglesNation/status/1893805067460894870">Philadelphia Eagles Nation</a> with a post that read, “According to ‘a well-placed insider,’ discussions between #Eagles players and their front office resulted in a ‘massive no’ when asked if they would accept an invitation to the White House to honor their Super Bowl Victory, per @TheSun.”
The account later shared that the Sun report was “untrue,” according to Schefter, and shared another post from NFL insider Ian Rapoport that <a href="https://x.com/RapSheet/status/1894166330326020377">said</a>, “The #Eagles would be honored to visit The White House, team sources say after conversations today. It’s one of the aspects of winning they are excited about and look forward to receiving the invitation.”
That same Eagles account on X later shared another post from Dave Zangaro of NBCSPhilly that <a href="https://x.com/DZangaroNBCS/status/1894161483413483602">read</a>, “The Eagles are planning to visit the White House to celebrate their Super Bowl LIX victory this offseason if invited, a source confirms. The Eagles did not visit after winning Super Bowl LII; that invitation was technically rescinded the night before.”

The article was then shared by the account called <a href="https://x.com/PHLEaglesNation/status/1893805067460894870">Philadelphia Eagles Nation</a> with a post that read, “According to ‘a well-placed insider,’ discussions between #Eagles players and their front office resulted in a ‘massive no’ when asked if they would accept an invitation to the White House to honor their Super Bowl Victory, per @TheSun.”
The account later shared that the Sun report was &#8220;untrue,&#8221; according to Schefter, and made another post from NFL insider Ian Rappaport that read, “The #Eagles would be honored to visit The White House, team sources say after conversations today. It’s one of the aspects of winning they are excited about and look forward to receiving the invitation.”
That same Eagles account on X later shared another post from NBCSPhilly that read, “The Eagles are planning to visit the White House to celebrate their Super Bowl LIX victory this offseason if invited, a source confirms. The Eagles did not visit after winning Super Bowl LII; that invitation was technically rescinded the night before.”
In 2018, the Eagles beat the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII and did not make the trip to the White House due to Trump’s stance that players should stand for the national anthem.
In a <a href="https://6abc.com/white-house-philadelphia-eagles-superbowl-champions-president-trump/3561204/">statement from Trump</a> at the time, he said, “The Philadelphia Eagles are unable to come to the White House with their full team to be celebrated tomorrow. They disagree with their President because he insists that they proudly stand for the National Anthem, hand on heart, in honor of the great men and women of our military and the people of our country.”
&#8220;The Eagles wanted to send a smaller delegation, but the 1,000 fans planning to attend the event deserve better,” he added.

NFL Insider Says Eagles Looking Forward To White House Visit

Multiple people were shot on Friday when an apparent dispute unfolded adjacent to the Philadelphia Eagles&#8217; celebratory parade following their decisive victory at Super Bowl LIX.
The shooting comes just one year after a shooting also disrupted the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kc-shooting-had-no-nexus-to-terrorism-appeared-to-be-dispute-between-several-people-police" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kansas City Chiefs&#8217; parade</a>, killing one and injuring more than a dozen.
Steve Keeley, reporter for the local FOX affiliate, shared details he learned from police in a short thread posted to X.

All reports thus far indicate that the shooting was unrelated to the Eagles&#8217; event and only happened in the vicinity by happenstance.
Fox News Digital shared a statement directly from the Philadelphia Police Department concerning the shooting:

The victims have been identified as a 27-year-old Hispanic female, who suffered a gunshot wound to her left leg, and a 20-year-old Asian female, who was shot in the upper left thigh. Both victims were transported by medics to Presbyterian Hospital, where they are currently listed in stable condition
At this time, no crime scene has been located, and no weapon has been recovered. Police have not made any arrests, and the investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Philadelphia Police Department.</blockquote>

Speaking on Kelce’s “New Heights” <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-EUOvKB3jgs">podcast</a> with his brother <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dont-feel-sorry-for-me-jason-kelce-addresses-those-retirement-rumors">Jason Kelce</a>, the Kansas City star tight end admitted this year was “grueling” and he’s not sure what his future in football looks like right now.
“I know everybody wants to know whether or not I’m playing next year,” Travis said. “Right now, I’m just kicking everything down the road. … and I’m not making any crazy decisions, but right now, the biggest thing is just being there for my teammates and being there for my coaches, understanding that there’s a lot goes into this thing.”

“That’s a lot of wear and tear on your body, and it’s a lot of time spent in the building focusing on your craft, focusing on the task at hand, every challenge that you set up for yourself, and that process can be grueling,” Kelce continued. “It can weigh on you. It can make you better, it can drive you crazy, the same time. And right now, it’s one of those things where it was kind of driving me crazy this year.”
Travis’ brother Jason, who <a href="https://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/news/jason-kelce-announces-his-retirement">retired</a> from the NFL last year after playing for the Eagles his entire career after being drafted in 2011, sympathized with his brother, who admitted that the reality is he’s now “toward the back nine of your career.&#8221;
“As you see yourself or not feel yourself have the success that you once used to have,” Kelce said. “Man, it’s a tough pill to swallow.”
“And then on top of that, to not be there in the biggest moments, knowing your team’s counting on you, man, those are all extremely hard things, to0, it’s just a tough reality,” he added. “I think I am going to take some time to figure it out.”
“I owe it to my teammates that if I do come back, then it’s going to be something that is a wholehearted decision; I’m not half-a**ing it,” Kelce continued. “I’m fully here for them. I think I can play — whether or not I’m motivated or it’s the best decision for me as a man, as a human, as a person to take on all that responsibility.”
Kelce was drafted by the Chiefs in 2013 had has had a Hall of Fame career as the team&#8217;s star tight end.

Jason said he was feeling “mixed emotions” due to the fact that his brother, Travis Kelce, plays <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/football">tight end</a> for the Chiefs.

Jason went on to say the game was “odd” to watch because of “mixed emotions before, during, and after.” The former center said his feelings of rooting for both sides were likely similar to what his parents went through when he was still playing and both of their sons were on different teams, including when they became the first brothers in history to play each other at the 2023 Super Bowl, which the Chiefs won 38 &#8211; 35.
“On one hand, I wanted what is best for my brother, and to see his success. And on the other hand, there are so many people, teammates, and coaches, in the Philadelphia Eagles organization that I care deeply about &#8230; many of whom I owe my own success to throughout my career,” Kelce added. 
Jason spent his entire 13-year NFL career playing for the Eagles.
“I am very proud [of] Jalen Hurts, Nick Sirianni, and this entire team. They have persevered greatly, answered their critics amazingly, and proved themselves to be undoubtedly the best team this season,” he continued.

“It is extremely difficult for a team in the NFL to have enough talent, coaching, fortune, and character to win a Super Bowl.  The character and swagger of this Eagles team was something truly special to behold.  A true representation of the toughness and grit that makes Philadelphia what it is.  Well done fellas, well f***ing done,” he wrote.
Next, Kelce heaped praise on Travis. He said, “As for my brother, There isn’t a person I love or care about more.  It has been tough to process these feelings, of course I feel for him and am always rooting for him,  but I know he does not need, nor want my pity.  He has amassed greatness few on this planet could ever dream of, as has his team, and they should feel pride in their accomplishments this season and in the past.”
&#8220;I know right now they are still thinking of last night and the shortcomings in the last game,” he said, “but in time that will fade, and the greatness they have exhibited as a group will remain as one of the most dominant eras of football ever.”

Sunday’s Super Bowl rematch between the Eagles and the Chiefs at the Superdome in New Orleans was one-sided, with the Eagles dominating for the entire game, ending the first half with 24 unanswered points. The Eagles’ big win was the franchise&#8217;s second Super Bowl title and dashed the Chiefs in their quest for a history-making &#8220;three-peat,” or winning three Super Bowl titles in a row. 
Travis admitted that his team didn&#8217;t show up like they wanted to on Sunday. “We haven’t played that bad all year,” he <a href="https://x.com/Sam4TR/status/1888800752207896875">told</a> reporters after the game. “You don’t lose like that without everything going bad.”

Last night’s Super Bowl was replete with a new mood for the country — and you could feel it right from the beginning.
All the woke? Gone. By and large, the commercials themselves had been changed and transmuted. There were only a couple of woke commercials, but they were few and far between.
The general mood of the country is different. An optimistic, patriotic mood is present in the country, and you can feel it pretty much everywhere — evident in the Super Bowl’s advertisements to the national anthem to even the fairly terrible halftime show.
The Super Bowl kicked off a patriotic ad with Brad Pitt about how awesome America is and started with John Hancock signing the Declaration of Independence. As far as the game goes, Super-Bowl-winning Jalen Hurts is a tremendous quarterback. Not only that, he said before the game that he wanted to root himself in Jesus again. It seems Hurts and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes are very grounded guys, and that is quite a wonderful thing.
This is the kind of normie American stuff that is certainly welcome at this time in history.

Do I wish that America had more cultural moments aside from the Super Bowl? The reality is that we&#8217;re so fragmented as a culture that it&#8217;s very difficult for us to come together on anything. Super Bowl Sunday has basically become a sort of secular catechism in the United States — but that catechism for many, many years was a woke catechism. It was “End racism” in the end zones. It was performances like Lady Gaga’s shouting about trans people at halftime.
But now we have a Super Bowl that is opening with the Declaration of Independence. Under Donald Trump, America is back.
The <a href="https://x.com/BehizyTweets/status/1888725372629561611" target="_blank" rel="noopener">opening ad</a> of the Super Bowl began with Brad Pitt saying, “How did we rise? The only way. Together.” Then, the ad showed members of the military, firefighters, doctors, and nurses. It ended with cowboys carrying an American flag.
It was basically a Trump ad: cowboys on horses with an American flag in an ad that starts with the Founding Fathers signing the Declaration of Independence.
The Secret Service’s patriotic ad included George Washington and Abe Lincoln. John Batiste, a terrific jazz artist, performed a great national anthem. When President Trump came on the big screen, there was a giant cheer.
The usual anti-American histrionics were gone. Patriotism was the theme of the day because patriotism is now cool.
President Trump went down to the field to meet with the victims and first responders from the New Orleans terrorist attack on the field before the game.
Knowing President Trump from having met him several times, you see that when it comes to these sorts of situations, he handles them so well. He&#8217;s just real.
There was that real feel to everything. It just all felt normal.
For a long time, it felt like we were getting sucker punched every time we watched the Super Bowl. Since Barack Obama became president, you were just waiting to be sucker punched by some Left-wing messaging that had to be drilled directly into your brain.
But on Sunday, it just wasn&#8217;t there. Instead, there was a feeling that you could simply be comfortable, watch the game, and it would be fine. 
It was all pretty awesome.
