Jurors are outraged after a Minnesota judge overturned the conviction of 45-year-old Abdifatah Yusuf for stealing $7.2 million through a fraudulent health care company.
Yusuf was <a href="https://www.ag.state.mn.us/Office/Communications/2025/08/12_Yusuf.asp">convicted</a> in August of defrauding the state’s Medicaid program after investigators said that he ran a health care company without an office building, operated out of a mailbox. On Thursday, Minneapolis Judge Sarah West acquitted Yusuf, arguing that the prosecution’s case was built on circumstantial evidence.
According to <a href="https://www.ag.state.mn.us/Office/Communications/2024/docs/YusufAbdifatah_Complaint.pdf">prosecutors</a>, Yusuf operated an agency called Promise Health Services that perpetrated &#8220;fraudulent documentation, over-billed claims, recipients denying they received services, and recipients receiving unlawful kickbacks.&#8221; Prosecutors said that Yusuf used Promise to fund a lavish lifestyle that included spending $22,000 on furniture, $80,000 on luxury clothing, and $42,000 on cars. He was found guilty of six counts of aiding and abetting theft by swindle (over $35,000).
After news of the acquittal broke, jurors spoke out, saying that the evidence in the case was clear.
&#8220;It was not a difficult decision whatsoever. The deliberation took probably four hours at most. Based off of the state&#8217;s evidence that was presented, it was beyond a reasonable doubt,&#8221; jury foreperson Ben Walfoort <a href="https://www.kare11.com/article/news/local/courts-news/hennepin-county-judge-tosses-out-jurys-guilty-verdict-in-72-million-home-healthcare-fraud-case/89-cbbdfb26-eb5d-40cc-8a19-a17c8602c8bf">told</a> local NBC affiliate KARE 11. “I am shocked. I&#8217;m shocked based off of all of the evidence that was presented to us and the obvious guilt that we saw based off of the said evidence.&#8221;
Another juror echoed the sentiment.
&#8220;We didn&#8217;t take our job lightly,” a juror told KARE 11. “We went through a lot of evidence and discussed a lot, took our time, but we all came to an agreement pretty easily.&#8221;
In a 55-page order, West acknowledged that there was widespread fraud at Promise, but said the state failed to establish a link between Yusuf and the fraud.
“The State’s Case was based substantially on circumstantial evidence. The State details evidence of fraud at Promise, some of which was direct evidence,” she wrote. “However, nearly all purported evidence of Mr. Yusuf’s alleged involvement in the fraud or from which the jury must have made inferences of the same is circumstantial.”

West, who was appointed to Minnesota’s Fourth Judicial court by Democrat Governor Mark Dayton, said that she was &#8220;troubled by the manner in which fraud was able to be perpetuated at Promise Health.&#8221;
Prosecutors have appealed West’s decision, asking for a reexamination of the evidence and the judge’s decision.
Ian Birrell, Yusuf’s lawyer, said that the ruling proved his innocence.
&#8220;Judge West’s 55-page order meticulously considered the facts and faithfully applied the law. It affirms what we have maintained from the very beginning: that Abdifatah Yusuf did not commit fraud or racketeering,&#8221; he told The Daily Wire. &#8220;The Court’s Order affirms the fundamental principle that justice requires both fairness and proof. We appreciate the Court&#8217;s thorough consideration of all the proceedings and we are confident Mr. Yusuf’s innocence will be affirmed through the appeal process.&#8221;

When it comes to immigration enforcement by the Trump administration, especially for people living in the Midwest, there’s been one decision that’s stood out. And it’s clearly been a deliberate decision, for whatever reason. For the most part, the government has left illegal alien Muslim populations alone, in places like Dearborn, Michigan, and Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Admittedly, there’s not much hard data on this. But intuitively, you can tell. You can go online and find hundreds of videos of ICE raids in Los Angeles or Texas. But you won’t find many videos coming from Little Mogadishu, which, by some conservative estimates, is home to tens of thousands of illegal aliens. And there’s another way to tell that immigration enforcement has been soft in these areas: They haven’t been rioting. They haven’t been surrounding ICE agents chanting, “Allahu Akbar,” like they’re re-enacting “Black Hawk Down.” Instead, Muslims in these communities have mostly been targeting white conservative activists and journalists, who dare to venture into the no-go zone that they’ve established. They’re not afraid of immigration enforcement. They’re emboldened, like conquerors.
Whatever the administration’s strategy has been here, it does appear to be changing, at least to an extent. Last week, as you may remember, I called for hate crimes charges to be brought against a man who punched a white conservative activist in Dearborn. Within hours, Harmeet Dhillon, who runs the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division, said she would begin an investigation. Then, shortly after that, the president announced a major change — one that we’ve been calling for, again and again, for several months. He ended “temporary protected status” for Somalis in the United States.
This is a designation that’s been in place for more than three decades. It shields Somalis, in many cases, from being deported back to Somalia, on the theory that the country is so dysfunctional that it would be inhumane to send them back. To be clear, in most other cases, “temporary protected status” is awarded after some terrible natural disaster, like a devastating earthquake or mudslide. The idea is that we don’t want to send people back to an unstable environment like that, where everything is flooded or on fire. But in Somalia’s case, there was no devastating earthquake or mudslide or anything like that. There’s just a lot of Somalis attempting to govern themselves. And that’s been such a disaster that, for more than 30 years, it’s been the official policy of the U.S. government that we shouldn’t send Somalis back to their own country. Somali governance is equivalent to a 9.0 earthquake — it’s just as catastrophic. Essentially, we’ve said we can’t send Somalis back to Somalia because there are so many Somalis there. It would be cruel to force Somalis to live with Somalis. So instead, we should force Americans to live with them. 
Of course, the appropriate response in this scenario is to keep Somalis as far away from the United States as possible. We don’t want them establishing an enclave in this country, because inevitably, it will be just as dysfunctional as the country they fled. But for many years now, it’s been the policy of the United States to pretend otherwise — and to give Somalis yet another host country to destroy.
The fact that the Trump administration is changing this policy, after so many years, is a clear signal that they’re thinking about going into Muslim communities (particularly Somali communities) and enforcing immigration law, as well as civil rights law. This is a crackdown that’s long overdue. And it’s more urgent than ever, because at this point, law enforcement is now working on behalf of the foreign criminals in cities like Minneapolis. The leaders of major police departments are now far more worried about offending their Muslim overlords than actually enforcing the law.

Earlier, I covered how conservatives can be physically attacked by Muslims in Dearborn, right in front of the police, and the police will do nothing. But the situation is even worse in Minneapolis, where the chief of police, Brian O’Hara, just apologized to the Somali community for pointing out that they’re committing a lot of crimes. This may be the first documented case of a police chief begging for forgiveness, simply for observing the fact that crime is taking place in his city.
So <a href="https://alphanews.org/mpd-chief-cites-east-african-kids-from-out-of-town-in-ongoing-dinkytown-youth-crime-problems/">here’s what</a> Chief Brian O’Hara said, in an interview with a local radio station. This was the observation that outraged the Somali community, as reported by Alpha News.
&#8220;Chief O’Hara said in the interview, &#8216;Groups of kids, groups of East African kids that are coming from surrounding communities and not just one community, kind of all over the place,” are coming to the area armed and ready for a fight. &#8230; “They aren’t the poor kids from Minneapolis that are our residents, these are kids coming down in mommy’s Mercedes-Benz to Dinkytown.&#8221;
What he’s saying is obviously true. No one disputes that it’s accurate. Somalis, from East Africa, are invading communities in Minneapolis and committing serious crimes.
But Somalis in Minneapolis decided that this statement simply could not stand. That’s because large Somali communities in the United States are effectively a criminal enterprise, like a mafia. There’s widespread awareness in these communities about the fraud and robberies they commit. And they understand that, in order to minimize any undesired attention, they need to band together and shut down any suggestion — from anywhere — that they’re engaging in criminal activity. There’s a code of silence that they obey themselves and enforce on everyone else. After all, the easiest way to conceal a criminal enterprise is to make sure no one is allowed to talk about it.
It’s been known for a long time that Somalis operate like this. And it’s also been widely understood that politicians in Minneapolis are going along with it. The mayor, as we all know, isn’t ashamed to pander to Somalis and BLM, and so on. He’s certainly never critiqued Somalis, nor would he dream of doing so.
That said, even with this background in mind, the police chief just took things to another level. He didn’t simply pander to Somalis or turn a blind eye to their crimes. He actually went on camera and apologized for making a factually accurate statement about criminal activity in Minneapolis. Accompanied by a translator, the police chief apologized for doing his job, for informing the public about criminal activity, and for enforcing the law against Somalis. 
If any video justifies a federal takeover of law enforcement in Minneapolis, it’s this one.

He says we have to be honest about what’s happening. And then in the same breath, he apologizes for being honest about what’s happening. It looks like a hostage video, because that’s exactly what it is.
After seeing this, is there anyone who seriously believes that any law enforcement official in Minnesota, from the attorney general on down, has any interest in arresting and prosecuting Somalis when they commit crimes? The guy looks absolutely petrified. And all he did was make a factually accurate statement. He didn&#8217;t even arrest anyone.
But if somehow you think law and order still exist in Minneapolis, maybe this video will be the wake-up call you need.

According to the translation, the Minnesota sheriff refers to white police officers as “foreigners.” He says he’s working for Somalis and understands Somalis better than those foreign officers ever could. (Disclaimer: I have no idea how accurate the translation is. But that&#8217;s not my problem, because every single public official in the state should be speaking English.)
What’s important to understand about clips like this is that, as unacceptable as they obviously are, the actual problem is much, much worse. What these clips signify is that the Somali takeover of Minnesota is now so pervasive that they’re not even pretending to hide it anymore. If sheriffs and the chief of police are willing to pledge their allegiance to Somalia on-camera, then there’s no chance whatsoever that Somalis are actually being prosecuted for committing serious crimes. Maybe the DOJ will catch some fraudsters here and there, but the vast majority of these crimes are going completely unpunished. And everyone knows it.
But just in case there was any doubt, a few days ago, Ryan Thorpe and Chris Rufo <a href="https://www.city-journal.org/article/minnesota-welfare-fraud-somalia-al-shabaab?utm_source=virtuous&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=cjdaily">published an article</a> in City Journal highlighting the extent of the rampant fraud in Minneapolis. It&#8217;s so over-the-top and brazen that it almost sounds fake.
&#8220;Autism claims to Medicaid in Minnesota have skyrocketed in recent years — from $3 million in 2018 to $54 million in 2019, $77 million in 2020, $183 million 2021, $279 million in 2022, and $399 million in 2023. Meantime, the number of autism providers in the state spiked from 41 to 328 over the same period, with many in the Somali community establishing their own autism treatment centers, citing the need for “culturally appropriate programming.” By the time the fraud scheme was exposed, one in 16 Somali four-year-olds in the state had reportedly been diagnosed with autism — a rate more than triple the state average.&#8221;
Yes, claims for autism treatment in Minnesota — treatment that was mostly administered by Somalis, and which was then reimbursed by federal taxpayers — spiked from $3 million to $399 million, in the span of just five years. And this is just one of their scams. They&#8217;re scamming everything they can get their hands on, from COVID food programs to SNAP to the paycheck protection program. And we all know that, even when the DOJ catches a handful of Somalis who are involved, there&#8217;s no way to actually recover the money. The few Somalis who are eventually sentenced to prison, in all likelihood, won&#8217;t be there for very long.
(By the way, there&#8217;s also a very good, comprehensive analysis of Somali fraud in Minnesota, written by Armin Rosen in the publication &#8220;County Highway.&#8221; It&#8217;s one of the better explanations of how Minnesota officials are concealing all of this fraud.)
But the City Journal article highlights another important dimension of the story, which needs to be addressed — which is that Somalis in Minnesota are sending a lot of this stolen money back home. They&#8217;re taking the money you pay to the IRS, and they&#8217;re shipping it to Somalia. In some cases, they&#8217;re literally putting the cash in suitcases and flying it overseas. These are called &#8220;remittances.&#8221; And, as we discussed last week, millions of dollars in &#8220;remittances&#8221; are apparently <a href="https://www.city-journal.org/article/minnesota-welfare-fraud-somalia-al-shabaab?utm_source=virtuous&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=cjdaily">going to</a> Al-Shabaab, a terrorist group linked to al-Qaeda.
&#8220;The Somali fraud rings have sent huge sums in remittances, or money transfers, from Minnesota to Somalia. According to reports, an estimated 40 percent of households in Somalia get remittances from abroad. In 2023 alone, the Somali diaspora sent back $1.7 billion — more than the Somali government’s budget for that year. &#8230; Significant funds were being sent from America to Al-Shabaab networks in Somalia. Whether the money was intended for Al-Shabaab or not, they were taking a cut.&#8221;
One obvious step to address this problem — which the Trump administration should take immediately — is to raise the tax on remittances to 10,000%, at least for remittances going to Somalia. Currently, the tax is something like 1%. It&#8217;s absurdly low. And especially since we&#8217;re clearly being robbed, to the tune of billions of dollars, that needs to change. We need an emergency tax on remittances, immediately.
We also need to ramp up deportations and denaturalization proceedings. That&#8217;s going to trigger a legal battle, but it&#8217;s one we need to fight. The attorney general of Minnesota, Keith Ellison, is <a href="https://x.com/keithellison/status/1992301392225038837?s=20">already vowing</a> to take the Trump administration to court in order to keep as many Somalis in this country as possible.
&#8220;Trump’s announcement of termination of Somali TPS holders in Minnesota is legally problematic — while a president does have a lot of authority to designate and revoke TPS, he cannot legally wield that power to discriminate against an ethnic group or to target a state, like MN. This ain’t over.&#8221;
Yes, it&#8217;s &#8220;legally problematic&#8221; to end an extraordinary carve-out, which we&#8217;ve awarded to Somalis for no reason whatsoever, for more than 30 years. This is what always happens when you give any concessions or &#8220;favors&#8221; to anyone, including foreign nations. Instantaneously, it becomes an entitlement. They&#8217;ll sue you if you try to end it. Their lawyers will claim that you&#8217;ve violated the Constitution.
But if you ask Somalis themselves, ironically enough, they&#8217;ll drop the pretense. At this point, Somalis are basically daring us to deport them. This was Ilhan Omar&#8217;s <a href="https://x.com/IlhanMN/status/1992056830575435815?s=20">response</a> after Trump terminated Somalia&#8217;s temporary protected status.
&#8220;I am a citizen and so are the majority of Somalis in America. Good luck celebrating a policy change that really doesn’t have much impact on the Somalis you love to hate. We are here to stay.&#8221;
Notice she doesn&#8217;t even refer to her own people as Americans. She admits that they&#8217;re &#8220;Somalis in America.&#8221; They&#8217;re foreign invaders in our country. They&#8217;ve taken over local law enforcement. They&#8217;ve taken over the state attorney general&#8217;s office. They&#8217;re attacking conservatives in the street.
And now, the moment the Trump administration suggests that laws might actually be enforced in Little Mogadishu, they&#8217;re saying &#8220;come get us.&#8221; 
For once, we should give Ilhan Omar and her Somali countrymen exactly what they&#8217;re asking for.

During the tenure of Democrat Gov. “The largest funder of Al-Shabaab is the Minnesota taxpayer,&#8221; one law-enforcement source said.
Much of the fraud has been traced to Minnesota’s Somali community, where politically connected fraudsters have allegedly exploited numerous loopholes in the state’s welfare system. The Medicaid Housing Stabilization Services (HSS) program, designed to help seniors, addicts, and the disabled secure housing, quickly became a cash cow for fake providers. Payments soared from $2.6 million to more than $104 million in just a few years. Operators often ran companies out of dilapidated storefronts, billing for services they never intended to provide.

“What we see are schemes stacked upon schemes, draining resources meant for those in need. It feels never-ending,” U.S. Attorney Joseph Thompson said. “I have spent my career as a fraud prosecutor and the depth of the fraud in Minnesota takes my breath away.”
“Our investigation reveals, for the first time, that some of this money has been directed to an even more troubling destination: the al-Qaida-linked Islamic terror group Al-Shabaab,” City-Journal <a href="https://www.city-journal.org/article/minnesota-welfare-fraud-somalia-al-shabaab">reported</a>. “According to multiple law-enforcement sources, Minnesota’s Somali community has sent untold millions through a network of ‘hawalas,’ informal clan-based money-traders, that have wound up in the coffers of Al-Shabaab.”
Additionally, Minnesota’s Medicaid autism programs exploded from $3 million in 2018 to $399 million in 2023, with Somali-run centers inflating diagnoses and paying parents kickbacks to enroll children in therapy programs they didn’t need. Thompson called this a sprawling “network” of fraud, one that has stolen billions from taxpayers while leaving state officials seemingly asleep at the switch.
Meanwhile, the media and Democratic establishment have largely ignored the issue, leaving ordinary Minnesotans to foot the bill, while their money funds international terrorism.

You could fill a very large museum with exhibits about empires that collapsed because — as barbarians gathered outside the gates — their leaders were distracted by relatively unimportant internal conflicts. Certainly, you could set up rows and rows of bookshelves in the Louvre, with volume after volume going into detail about how various civilizations — from the Byzantines to the Ottomans to the Canadians — met their demise because they were unable or unwilling to address the very real, looming threats they were facing from the outside.
And then, of course, once you meticulously assembled all the books documenting these historical examples and placed them in the Louvre, those books would promptly be stolen by a handful of burglars armed with power tools. Put another way: It&#8217;s the highest luxury for wealthy and prosperous civilizations to fight amongst themselves, right up until the moment they realize that, in reality, the barbarians aren&#8217;t simply at the gates anymore. They&#8217;ve made their way inside — and no one&#8217;s even noticed. And by that point, it&#8217;s too late. The foreign conquest is plain for everyone to see.
If you don&#8217;t see where I&#8217;m going with this, then that&#8217;s probably a good sign, if I&#8217;m being honest. There&#8217;s no reason to recap any of the infighting that&#8217;s occurring right now among the conservative movement. If you&#8217;re not aware of the extraordinary degree of internal squabbling on the Right, then that&#8217;s a point in your favor. It&#8217;s an indication that you don&#8217;t spend much of your time online, paying attention to the endless bickering on social media. But, suffice it to say, many conservatives are at each other&#8217;s throats at the moment. They&#8217;re certainly at my throat, from every angle, even though none of them can really explain what it is I’ve done or said that they find so objectionable. I also haven&#8217;t changed my goal, which is advancing the interests of this country and the Americans who live here.

But here&#8217;s the important thing: No matter where you stand on these attacks and all of this drama — if you&#8217;re even aware of the drama at all — it really doesn&#8217;t matter. What matters is that, while conservatives are busy ripping each other to shreds, an Islamic socialist from Uganda is about to take over the biggest city in the country. And, at the same time, as if that&#8217;s not enough, a far-left Somali scam artist is about to take over one of the biggest cities in America&#8217;s heartland: Minneapolis.
This is the kind of threat that a serious country, and a serious political movement, would prioritize above any other. If foreigners who want to destroy the United States are able to seize control of our largest cities, then nothing else matters. Foreign policy doesn&#8217;t matter. Podcasts — even the most offensive and racist podcasts you can think of — don&#8217;t matter. The Constitution doesn&#8217;t matter. The Heritage Foundation doesn&#8217;t matter. Nothing matters at all because we&#8217;ve ceased to exist as a country. We have become Somalia or Uganda. We have lost everything, and we can never get it back.

No one needs me to outline the case against Omar Fateh, who&#8217;s probably going to be the next mayor of Minneapolis. And no one needs me to outline the case against Zohran Mamdani, who&#8217;s probably going to be the next mayor of New York. Nor does anyone — at least among my followers — need me to make the case against mass migration more broadly, or Somali immigration in particular, or anything like that. We&#8217;ve beaten that drum many, many times before. And we’ll keep beating it. But really, especially if you live in places like New York or Minneapolis, or any of the thousands of American suburbs that have become unrecognizable in the past 20 years, you don&#8217;t need to watch any of those monologues. You&#8217;ve already seen, firsthand, exactly what the problem is — and how it&#8217;s about to get much, much worse, unless we actually take some meaningful action.
The good news — although it&#8217;s easy to forget it — is that meaningful action is indeed possible. The Republican Party currently has control of both houses of Congress, in addition to the White House. Conservatives have the power to prevent any more American cities from being taken over by foreign communists. So, in the interests of being constructive, instead of simply identifying the problem that we&#8217;ve all identified by now, I&#8217;m going to outline a few of my proposals that the Republican Congress should pass into law immediately.
But before I do so, I need to preempt the objections that are going to sound something like this: &#8220;Well, the courts might strike this down,&#8221; or &#8220;Well, the Democrats might filibuster it.&#8221; Yes, it&#8217;s true that courts might strike these proposals down — just like they&#8217;ve struck down every single policy that the Trump administration has attempted to implement. And yes, Democrats might filibuster this legislation. But that doesn&#8217;t mean we&#8217;re out of options. We can eliminate the filibuster. We can appeal rulings by lower court judges and, if necessary, ignore them.
I don&#8217;t think that will be necessary, though, because the proposals I&#8217;m about to outline are indeed both constitutional and obviously necessary.
For my first proposal, by way of background, take a look at these recent appearances by Omar Fateh, the scam artist running for mayor of Minneapolis, who&#8217;s become known as the &#8220;Mamdani of the Midwest.&#8221;

He&#8217;s waving the Somali flag. He&#8217;s speaking in a foreign language and pledging loyalty to Somalia. He&#8217;s talking about tipping off illegals in advance of ICE raids. He clearly understands that his constituency is Somalis like himself, not Americans. And he&#8217;s not ashamed of any of this because, as we&#8217;ve discussed before, Somalis are now a dominant voting bloc in Minneapolis, which is home to the largest Somali population in the entire country.
The solution is to ban politicians and candidates from holding rallies or creating advertisements in any language other than English. American voters should always know what their leaders are saying. This is fundamental. Any voter who can’t speak English shouldn’t be voting in the first place.
Right away, I can imagine the replies: &#8220;But that violates the First Amendment!&#8221; Well, actually, it doesn&#8217;t. It&#8217;s not a restriction on the content of anyone&#8217;s speech. Politicians can have whatever ideas they want. It&#8217;s a restriction on how that speech is delivered — and we have many, many restrictions like that. That&#8217;s why politicians can&#8217;t campaign within 50 feet of a polling place. It&#8217;s why politicians can&#8217;t blast their campaign advertisements at 2:00 AM with a bullhorn outside your house.
The principle is pretty clear: Speech becomes unlawful when — and only when — the government has a clear and unambiguous need to regulate that speech, in order for the country and its government to remain functional. And in the context of laws that require candidates to speak English, there&#8217;s precedent to back this up.
Consider the case of Alejandrina Cabrera, which you probably haven&#8217;t heard of. A little over a decade ago, she <a href="https://ideas.time.com/2012/02/13/do-elected-officials-have-to-speak-english/" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://ideas.time.com/2012/02/13/do-elected-officials-have-to-speak-english/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1762276656074000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2sGDxChmlTZmp4EOmirzk2">ran</a> for city council in San Luis, Arizona. But there was a problem with her candidacy. The law in Arizona requires that elected officials have the capacity to speak English coherently.
This is from <a href="https://ideas.time.com/2012/02/13/do-elected-officials-have-to-speak-english/">Time Magazine</a>:
<blockquote>The Arizona Supreme Court ruled last week that Cabrera did not meet the state’s requirement that elected officials must be proficient in English. &#8230; Cabrera’s candidacy became an issue when the mayor, a political rival of hers, filed a lawsuit claiming her lack of English proficiency made her ineligible. Cabrera — an American citizen who spent some of her childhood in Mexico — knows some English. When she was questioned at trial, she was able to state her name and place of birth. But she could not answer a question about which high school she attended. &#8230; In much of the country, Cabrera would not have a problem: candidates do not have to prove that they know English. But Arizona enacted a law in 2006 that bars people who do not speak, write and read English from holding state or local offices.</blockquote>

<blockquote>When Alejandrina Cabrera speaks English, her face takes on an expression somewhere between deep discomfort and outright despair. Her tongue, which darts around her mouth in her native Spanish, slows to a crawl. &#8230; In his report, which was detailed in a court hearing on Wednesday, William G. Eggington, a professor of English and linguistics at Brigham Young University in Utah, said that based on interviews and tests he conducted with Mrs. Cabrera, she had &#8220;basic survival level&#8221; English that fell well below that needed to participate in city business. &#8230; &#8220;This is the law,&#8221; [the city attorney] said, arguing that the 1910 act granting Arizona statehood required officeholders to perform their duties in English without the aid of a translator. “It’s been on the books since statehood.&#8221;</blockquote>
So she was tossed from the ballot. It&#8217;s as simple as that. If the state of Arizona can have a law like this, then the federal government can impose a similar restriction on every candidate in every office. We can require that candidates speak coherent English, instead of a foreign language, when they&#8217;re campaigning. There&#8217;s no First Amendment violation here. If anything, the First Amendment — and the Constitution — requires that we have a law like this. The country cannot exist for much longer without it.
While we&#8217;re at it, we should require an English language proficiency test for voters upon registration. Again, the principle is the same. If you can&#8217;t speak English, then you&#8217;re not an American. You&#8217;re not capable of interacting with Americans. You haven’t made even the slightest effort to assimilate into our country. If you&#8217;re allowed to vote, you&#8217;ll protect your own country&#8217;s interests, not America&#8217;s. And for that reason, there is a clear and compelling government interest in preventing you from voting — just like we prevent felons from voting.
Yes, in this country, it&#8217;s entirely possible for an American citizen to lose his right to vote by becoming a felon. Many states have laws like that on the books. But ask yourself this question: Who&#8217;s more dangerous in the voting booth? A Somali communist who can&#8217;t speak a word of English, who wants to drain every dollar from the U.S. treasury and send it back to Somalia, or a guy who hasn&#8217;t paid his taxes in 5 years? Who&#8217;s more dangerous in the voting booth? A Muslim socialist from Uganda who can&#8217;t speak a word of English, and who wants to dismantle the police force, or a guy who committed insurance fraud five years ago?
We all know the answers to these questions. If we&#8217;re going to ban felons from voting, then we should ban foreign-language speakers from voting, too. We should also require all politicians and candidates to renounce any dual citizenship they may hold, and publicly pledge their total and absolute loyalty to the United States to the absolute exclusion of all other nations.
From a First Amendment standpoint, this shouldn&#8217;t be controversial, either. As to the latter part, we already make elected officials take an oath of office. Many public servants in various fields have the same obligation. That&#8217;s because the Constitution explicitly states that officeholders &#8220;shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution.&#8221; All I&#8217;m proposing is that we move the oath forward a bit, to the candidate stage. Yes, the candidates could lie. But at least this country would be spared the indignity of watching Somali politicians telling us, to our faces, for months on end, that they don&#8217;t actually care about representing Americans. They&#8217;d have to pretend to care about this country. And for some of them — particularly the inbred ones — that might be too difficult to fake.
Additionally, as to the second proposal I just made, dual citizens are already subjected to dramatically increased scrutiny when they&#8217;re trying to obtain, say, a top-secret security clearance. There&#8217;s no reason we shouldn&#8217;t impose even more scrutiny when a dual citizen tries to run for office, given the obvious conflict of interest involved. Again, the precedent is there. We don&#8217;t even need to make an argument. We just need to pass a law, immediately.
And here&#8217;s one more idea, while I&#8217;m at it: If over 10% of immigrants from a certain country are on welfare in this country, ban all immigration from that country for the next 10 years. We could set the threshold anywhere — 5%, 20%, doesn’t matter — but the point is that, if a significant number of immigrants from a country are coming here to leech off of our country rather than contribute to it, we need to shut off the spigot.
This is probably the &#8220;safest&#8221; proposal of all, from a constitutional perspective. Foreigners don&#8217;t have the right to enter this country. It&#8217;s a privilege. And we should obviously shut it down, immediately, if it&#8217;s turning into a burden for American taxpayers. Last week, we talked about how well over 50% of illegal aliens receive food stamps — many of them from countries like Somalia, Haiti, and Iraq. So, terminate all migration from these countries immediately. We&#8217;ll save a lot of money. And we won&#8217;t have Haitians winning the mayor&#8217;s race in Ohio any time soon. It&#8217;s a win-win.
It&#8217;s fine if you want to quibble with some of these proposals. Maybe you think some of them won&#8217;t work. These are just a few ideas, off the top of my head. The point is: This is the kind of thing we should be talking about every single day. These are the kind of proposals that conservatives — whether they&#8217;re posting on social media, or hosting a podcast, or working at a think tank, or anywhere else — should be spending their time on. These are proposals that advance conservatism and preserve the future of this country. It&#8217;s what we elected conservatives to do. So why aren&#8217;t they doing it?
Until anyone can explain that, it&#8217;s our responsibility to demand that Republicans answer this simple and fundamental question: What are you doing to ensure that some of the most important cities in this country are actually run by Americans, instead of foreign subversives like Zohran Mamdani and Omar Fateh? That&#8217;s the only question that matters. And before another conservative fires another volley at anyone else on the Right — before another major American city falls — someone in power needs to answer it, while our side still has power to wield.

Twelve-year-old Sophia Forchas, one of the victims of the mass shooting at Annunciation Catholic Church in Minneapolis in August, made her triumphant return home after what her family called a “miraculous” recovery.
The Annunciation Catholic School student was shot in the temple and had to be placed in a medically induced coma and have part of her skull removed, per <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/minnesota/news/sophia-forchas-annunciation-shooting-released-from-hospital/">CBS News</a>. Her parents credit her incredible recovery to the power of faith and prayer, plus the determination of her medical team.
Sophia was in critical condition when she arrived at the hospital. “It’s only been two months or so since this terrible event,” Dr. Walt Galicich, a neurosurgeon with Hennepin Healthcare, said of Forchas’ recovery. “And to see her walking around wanting to go home and go back to school is pretty amazing.”

“Your prayers have been powerful,” the Forchas family <a href="https://hennepinhealthcare.org/articles/statement-family-sophia-forchas-0">statement</a> read. “Sophia surviving this horrific attack is a miracle. Her healing progress is nothing short of miraculous; an undeniable testament to the mercy and intervention of our Lord Jesus Christ. Each day we uncover new revelations of moments and circumstances that kept her alive and made her recovery possible. There are simply too many to be dismissed as coincidence. God has heard our prayers and wrapped Sophia in His healing embrace.”
“It is by God&#8217;s will that she has come this far. We are eternally grateful to our loving Father, who hears and answers prayers,” the statement added.
On August 27, a trans-identifying gunman named Robin Westman was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/more-of-minnesota-shooters-writings-uncovered-gender-and-weed-fed-up-my-head?author=Tim+Pearce&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=More+Of+Minnesota+Shooter%E2%80%99s+Writings+Uncovered%3A+%E2%80%98Gender+And+Weed+F***ed+Up+My+Head%E2%80%99">identified as the shooter</a>. 
Westman, 23, targeted the church at Annunciation Catholic School, firing through the church’s windows from a parking lot while students from the school attended Mass. Westman killed two students, 8-year-old Fletcher Merkel and 10-year-old Harper Moyski, and <a href="https://kstp.com/kstp-news/local-news/more-victims-identified-in-annunciation-church-shooting/">wounded</a> 27 others. The shooter died after turning his gun on himself.
The gunman left behind numerous writings, videos, and other communications that include deeply troubling and hateful thoughts and intentions. Westman directed strong feelings at Christians, Jews, and President Donald Trump, but also at himself and his transgender identity. He also blamed marijuana, saying it “f***ed up my head.”

More than a month after a transgender-identifying shooter opened fire on children at the Annunciation School in Minneapolis, the Minnesota medical examiner has finally released information about the shooter&#8217;s death.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner identified the shooter as Robin M Westman, the attacker&#8217;s legal name that was set after he decided to identify as a woman, but lists his sex as &#8220;male,&#8221; according to a public data form obtained by The Daily Wire.
The manner of his death was determined to be suicide, and the cause of death was a self-inflicted shotgun wound to the head.
He was a white, 65 inch male who weighed 125 pounds, with blue eyes and &#8220;multi-colored&#8221; hair, according to the examiner.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner promptly released information about the two children tragically murdered in the August 27 attack on Annunciation School. But back in mid-September, the medical examiner told a local Minnesota outlet, <a href="https://patch.com/minnesota/minneapolis/weeks-after-annunciation-school-shooting-limited-details-robin-westman-s-death">Patch</a>, that it didn&#8217;t release information on trans-identifying gunman Westman because he committed suicide.
&#8220;As a matter of practice, this office does not issue media releases on when the manner of death is Suicide, but does release limited public data on victims of homicide,&#8221; Shawn J. Wilson, Director of Medical Examiner Operations, said in a statement to the publication last month.
That statement drew scrutiny. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner&#8217;s website features a July 2025 press release describing a 24-year-old Hispanic male who also died by suicide: a &#8220;gunshot wound of the head.&#8221; The release included not only the young man&#8217;s name and age but also his gender, manner of death, and the city and state where he was killed.
&#8220;Other media releases from the office, <a href="https://www.hennepin.us/ME" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">which can be viewed here</a>, have done the same, especially in cases of murder-suicide or standoffs with police that end in suicide,&#8221; Patch&#8217;s William Bornhoft noted. &#8220;The inconsistency has left a gap in one of Minnesota’s most high-profile tragedies: homicide victims are acknowledged publicly, while the shooter’s case remains absent from official releases, despite law enforcement stating the death was self-inflicted.&#8221;

The Daily Wire reached out to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner&#8217;s office several times over the last month, requesting an explanation for why it had not yet released information about Westman. The medical examiner repeatedly said that the investigation into Westman&#8217;s death was not complete. The medical examiner&#8217;s spokesman, Wilson, told The Daily Wire to submit records requests for the information, which The Daily Wire did.
Medical examiner investigations are &#8220;completely independent from law enforcement agencies,&#8221; Wilson noted earlier this month, saying that the investigation is active until Westman&#8217;s manner and cause of death have been entered into the state electronic death registry system. Pressed by The Daily Wire to explain why Westman&#8217;s manner and cause of death had not been entered into the state electronic death registry system — since it is known that Westman shot and killed himself — Wilson said he was not at liberty to discuss the matter without a court order.
Wilson also walked back his comment to Patch, saying, &#8220;Generally, this office does not issue media releases when the manner of death is Suicide. There are of course exceptions as you noted.&#8221;
The Minneapolis killer changed his name from Robert Westman to Robin Westman in 2020, <a href="https://x.com/peterjhasson/status/1960758053625627109" target="_blank" rel="noopener">as the Free Beacon’s Peter Hassan first reported</a>. Court filings show that Westman’s mother signed off on the name change, since her son was a minor, and the documents state that Westman “identifies as a female and wants her name to reflect that identification.”
On August 27, around 8:30 a.m., Westman fired through the windows of the Annunciation Catholic School’s church in Minneapolis as students attended daily mass. He killed two children, ages 8 and 10, injuring 21 others before he shot himself in the parking lot, according to the Minneapolis Police Department. Among the injured were 18 children between the ages of 6 and 15, and three adults in their 80s who were worshipping at mass.
He left behind a YouTube video showing a lengthy, manifesto-like journal filled with rantings against Jews, Christians, President Donald Trump, and others. It included a transgender flag, images of Jesus Christ on a target, and sketches of Annunciation Catholic Church. His writings demonstrate that he was profoundly mentally ill and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/wish-i-never-brain-washed-myself-minnesota-school-shooter-said-he-was-tired-of-being-trans" target="_blank" rel="noopener">regretted his trans-identification</a>.

After Over A Month, Medical Examiner Releases Report On Trans-Identifying Minneapolis Killer

MINNEAPOLIS — A strong wind was blowing as Vice President JD Vance’s motorcade pulled up in front of a Minneapolis church. It blew the vice president’s tie over his shoulder as he walked, and scattered Usha Vance’s hair as she took her husband’s hand. 
High above them loomed Annunciation Catholic Church, where a frenzied shooter in his twenties opened fire on children attending the first school mass of the year. Two children were killed, and many more were injured. Vance and his wife each carried a bouquet to honor the slain children, and they walked slowly up the steps to the church, reading the sidewalk chalk messages spread out before them. Thousands of donated flowers lined the walkway.
They paused in front of a statue of Mary, whom the church is named after, setting their bouquets in a basket before her. Someone had placed a small bouquet in the statue&#8217;s hand, and a long rosary dangled from her arm. Vance pointed out the inscription above her head to his wife: “This is the house of God and the gate of heaven.” 
No one spoke as they looked up at the church in apparent prayer, Vance making the sign of the cross. Even the protestors across the street barely made a sound. Then the Vances quietly went towards the church to meet the families whose children had been taken from them forever.

Ten-year-old Harper Moyski and 8-year-old Fletcher Merkel each had their own hopes and dreams, Vance reflected to reporters before he boarded Air Force Two to return to Washington. They were energetic, silly, beautiful children, beloved by their families, who never imagined they would lose them so soon.
Their friends commemorated them outside the church by writing little messages to the deceased youngsters on grave-like crosses erected under a little tent. 
“We will miss you,” a young hand wrote. 
“God be with you, I’m in your class,” scrawled another. 
“You were so loved,” the messages read, over and over and over. 
The vice president and his wife spent several hours speaking not only with Harper’s and Fletcher’s parents, but also with the parents of the injured children. They went to the Minnesota Children’s Hospital and met young Lydia Kaiser, who was recovering from surgery, and spoke with Weston Halsne, another victim, over the phone.

The vice president described the visit as “heart breaking” but “gratifying,” sharing that the parents “opened up their lives, opened up their hearts” to the Vances, speaking about their children and about their families and about the community that has rallied around them. 
And they asked him, Vance said, to speak not of the “brutal maniac” who slaughtered their children, but to speak of the “innocent children who lost their lives, and were full of life, and were people, people with hopes and dreams in their own right.” 
He emphasized that message by speaking of the children himself. 
“I wish that we talked a lot more about Harper, who was a beautiful young girl, who had a beautiful smile, the kind of smile that would turn a bad day into a good one,” Vance reflected, adding that Harper was “very proud of the fact that she just had her first communion a couple years ago.”
“I also wish we talked a little bit more about Fletcher,” he went on. “Fletcher was a very rambunctious and energetic kid. Was a beautiful kid. Had an incredible head of hair…”
Fletcher’s father, Vance, revisited the chapel with him where the shooter killed his son. 
“That was the first time he had been in the chapel since his son was taken from him,” Vance said. 
And the vice president himself echoed the grieving parents’ request: “We should talk more about these kids. We should talk less about the shooter, the crazy person who took these children from us. We should talk about these kids, their hopes and their dreams, and the fact that they had a full life ahead of them that was cut short.” 
Lydia Kaiser, who received a visit from the vice president and the second lady on Wednesday, was just recovering from surgery. According to a <a href="https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-lydia-and-the-kaiser-family-heal">GoFundMe</a> set up in her name, Lydia was injured while she was protecting her little “buddy” — a younger student whom she was supposed to keep an eye on and help behave throughout mass. 

“Her father, our community’s beloved gym teacher, was also in attendance and helped secure the room, to keep children safe, and stuck with them all until they were reunited with their families,” the GoFundMe says, “even while his daughter was entering the emergency room. Lydia and Harry are two heroes in our midst.” 
Weston wasn’t well enough to meet the vice president in person, but he and his family did speak with the Vances over the phone. Vance, who had maintained a somber demeanor the entire day, broke into a big smile when The Daily Wire asked about Weston. 
“Usha and I spoke to him,” Vance told The Daily Wire, as Usha also smiled. “He had just got out of surgery so we weren’t able to see Weston, but we did talk to him on the phone. Just a little boy, thank God full of life, happy, recovering well.”

“I told him, he has a 15 year old older brother, I said, you can tell him from the vice president of the United States that your older brother has to be nice to you for at least the next week,” the vice president said. “Weston was very excited to hear that. But just a really beautiful family and I’m glad that he’s doing well.” 
Yet even as Vance shared the message of the parents: to focus on their children and not on the shooter, the tragedy of that shooting and the many ways in which it could have been prevented loomed like a spectre over the day. 
Protestors littered the streets near the church, advocating for gun control. Across the street, big signs were taped to the fence facing Annunciation church, reading: “Protect kids, not guns.” Beside them hung a massive transgender flag — an acknowledgment of the shooter’s trans-identification.
Bloomberg’s Kate Sullivan asked if Vance had heard about Minnesota’s Governor Tim Walz call for a special legislative session to consider potential gun laws, but Vance would not get mired in the politics of gun legislation, telling her, “I’m not going to tell Minnesota lawmakers or the governor exactly how they should respond to this tragedy.” 
He did say emphatically: “There is a strong desire from across the political spectrum to do something so that these shootings are less common.” 
The Daily Wire questioned Vance about the rise in trans-identifying shooters and whether authorities should be focusing on gender dysphoric individuals showing warning signs. Vance did not specifically mention the shooter’s gender identity issues, but he stressed that the parents he spoke with want authorities to be taking a serious look at the root causes. 
“Certainly we should be investigating people who are planning on targeting kids, and I think that one of the unfortunate lessons of this particular shooting is that this person who showed clear signs of derangement, slipped through the cracks,” Vance told The Daily Wire. 
He explained that the parents he spoke with came from across the political spectrum, describing them as “rational&#8221; and &#8220;reasonable” despite their grief. 
“Every single parent I spoke to wants something to happen,” he said. 
“I can’t imagine what I would be like in this moment of heartbreak, and all they asked is that we look very seriously at the root causes, that we look very seriously at the ways to prevent crazy people who are about to shoot up a school from getting access to firearms, these are things that a lot of us have talked about for a very long time.”
“These parents are grieving,” he added, “but they certainly want us to look at everything that we can possibly do so that the next family doesn’t have to deal with this.”

Both Vance and his wife appeared emotionally impacted by the weight of the day — Usha Vance looked particularly sad, and she didn’t speak to the reporters gathered under the wing of Air Force Two, returning to the plane with her husband with a smile and wave. 
Vance himself appeared to have a catch in his voice as he reflected on his takeaways from the day. 
“I’ve had a lot of good days, a lot of interesting days…but I’ve never had a day that will stay with me like this day did,” he said. 
One little girl remains in serious condition, Vance said, and he looked into the camera to issue a plea to his fellow Americans. 
“If you are the praying type, say a prayer for this innocent girl, who is actually in surgery right now, that the swelling will go down, that she will be ok, because she’s still in the fight for her life, and every single family to a person is desperate that the death toll which currently is at two, stays at two,” he said. 
As for himself, Vance knows that there is nothing he, or anyone else, can say that will take away the grief that these parents are feeling. He plans to honor these grieving parents and their innocent children, “by being a better dad, and hugging my kids tight tonight, and making sure that they know that their dad loves them.”
“Because there are two families who are not going to get that opportunity ever again,” he said. 
“There are families in Minneapolis who will never get to do that again.”

WASHINGTON — Another deadly school shooting at the hands of a trans-identifying killer is prompting discussions about investigations into transgender domestic terrorism — and what kind of emphasis authorities should put on suspects who are undergoing so-called gender-affirming care.
Asked by The Daily Wire if the White House would support a new classification such as transgender domestic terrorism, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Thursday that she would have to “check with the appropriate people.” But since then, The Daily Wire has learned that the White House’s draft national security strategy on domestic terrorism will specifically address transgender violence.
“I can report that the new draft U.S. Counterterrorism [plan] addresses the issue,” Sebastian Gorka, deputy assistant to President Donald Trump and senior director for counterterrorism, told The Daily Wire, asked whether there should be a transgender domestic terrorism classification.
Gorka says the document, Trump 2.0’s <a href="https://www.semafor.com/article/04/23/2025/trump-adviser-sebastian-gorka-says-new-counterterrorism-plan-will-likely-be-ready-in-a-month">domestic counterterrorism plan,</a> is now in the hands of several cabinet members and principals, including Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, top intelligence officials Tulsi Gabbard, John Radcliffe, and Kash Patel, as well as Stephen Miller, Trump’s influential homeland security adviser.
The attacker, Robin Westman, who changed his name from Robert as a teenager, opened fire on Annunciation Catholic Church last week as school children were attending the first daily mass of the school year. Westman killed two children and injured 17 other individuals before killing himself in the parking lot. He left behind a YouTube video showing a lengthy, manifesto-like journal filled with rantings against Jews, Christians, President Donald Trump, and others. It included a transgender flag, images of Jesus Christ on a target, and sketches of Annunciation Catholic Church. His writings demonstrate that he was profoundly mentally ill and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/wish-i-never-brain-washed-myself-minnesota-school-shooter-said-he-was-tired-of-being-trans">regretted his trans-identification</a>.
Westman’s actions came only two years after another trans-identifying killer, this one a woman who identified as a man, targeted Christian school children in Nashville. One week later, leaders of Catholic and independent schools in Minnesota <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/minnesota-catholic-school-leader-warned-tim-walz-of-urgent-and-critical-need-to-secure-schools?author=Mary+Margaret+Olohan&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=4&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Minnesota+Catholic+School+Leader+Warned+Tim+Walz+Of+%E2%80%98Critical%E2%80%99+School+Safety+Threats.+He+Did+Nothing.">had called on Governor Tim Walz</a> to help prevent similar shootings, as The Daily Wire reported earlier this week. They feared that the next transgender-identifying shooter would target one of their schools, but the security funding was never authorized.

These are just two examples of a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/why-were-naming-the-minneapolis-shooter?author=Brent+Scher&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=0&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Why+We%E2%80%99re+Naming+The+Minneapolis+Shooter">steady stream of transgender-related violence</a> over the past decade.
Last year, a 29-year-old trans-identifying man who went by the name “Mia Bailey” <a href="https://www.abc4.com/news/southern-utah/mia-bailey-pleads-not-guilty/">shot and killed both his mother and father</a> in Utah before he was ultimately arrested by police after a dramatic manhunt. Bailey was “transitioning from male to female,” local outlets reported, and told officers of his killing: “I would do it again.”
Also in 2024, authorities arrested a 26-year-old Massachusetts man accused of stabbing six people, including four little girls who said he laughed as he stabbed them in a movie theater, and killing another. The New York Post <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/05/27/us-news/mass-stabbing-spree-suspect-jared-ravizza-seen-in-pics-with-lip-gloss-nail-polish-as-court-docs-confirm-name-change/">reported at the time</a> that the individual, Jared Ravizza, posted photos online wearing “lipgloss, face glitter and painted pink nails,” described himself as “she” on Instagram, and had recently changed his name from Jared Christian Ravizza Jones to Jared Love Jones.
In 2022, authorities arrested a man who traveled from California to Maryland to assassinate Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh — that man, Nicholas Roske, <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/kavanaugh-assassination-suspect-portrayed-himself-online-trans-gamer-girl-named-sophie">represented himself online</a> as a “trans gamer girl” who went by the name Sophie.
Also in 2022, a man who identified as “nonbinary” and went by “they-them” pronouns <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/colorado-springs-suspect-identifies-nonbinary-uses-pronounces-defense-rcna58499">shot up a gay nightclub in Colorado Springs,</a> killing five people before he was captured. And a man who <a href="https://6abc.com/post/philadelphia-mass-shooter-identity-suspect-kimbrady-carriker-shooting-july-2023/13463565/">killed five people and injured four others</a> in a Philadelphia shooting spree posted photographs on social media of himself wearing women’s clothing, prompting speculation that he identified as transgender.
In 2020, authorities <a href="https://www.reuters.com/article/world/transgender-teen-sentenced-to-life-in-prison-for-deadly-colorado-school-shooting-idUSKCN24Q03E/">sentenced a trans-identifying teenager to life in prison</a> for killing one student and injuring eight others in yet another transgender school shooting in Colorado.
In 2018, a 26-year-old trans-identifying killer who went by Snochia Moseley <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/2018/09/21/maryland-shooting-female-shooter-snochia-moseley/1378272002/">killed three workers at a Rite Aid</a> warehouse in Aberdeen, Maryland, injuring three others, before taking his own life.
Gorka, who said the administration’s counterterrorism strategy addresses the pattern, argues that there was an ideological component to the Annunciation school shooting.
“What we should do is we should look at the early warning signals, the signs,” he told CNN’s Brianna Keilar, “we should be providing off-ramps, we should be providing mental health options for these individuals.”
The disturbing number of transgender-related crimes has prompted calls for federal authorities to specifically investigate transgender domestic terrorism — or at the bare minimum, to at least track these types of crimes.
“There’s simply no good way to track it, and no one’s even trying,” argued The Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh. “The federal government doesn’t maintain any kind of database that lists crimes by trans-identifying individuals. They probably should have that database. We obviously need one, but one doesn’t exist at the moment. Media outlets are terrified of stigmatizing the quote-unquote trans community. And so for all practical purposes, we only ever hear about a violent crime committed by a trans-identifying individual.”

Someone has to have noticed the warning signs with Westman, Gorka said on CNN.
“I find it hard to believe that an individual goes from getting his mother to sign a change of name certificate, age 17, and then just a handful of years later is mowing down innocent children in a church pew during a Catholic mass, and nobody realized there was a problem,” Gorka <a href="https://x.com/bennyjohnson/status/1962154580117975087">argued</a>. “That is what we have to address to save the next children from the next atrocity. It’s not about the sexual proclivities of the individual, it’s the fact that nobody seems to notice a very disturbing pattern towards violence.”
“You don’t wake up one morning saying I’m going to do a video on YouTube threatening to kill the president, targeting Jews, targeting children, that doesn’t happen overnight,” he added. “Somebody saw that degradation, somebody saw those mental issues, and said nothing. That is what we have to prevent. The early warning signals must be addressed if children’s lives are to be saved.”
Journalist Andy Ngo, who has written extensively about possible trans militant cells in the United States, argues that the FBI should absolutely keep data on a subject’s gender identity, though the proposition might sound “woke” on first suggestion.
“It’s an important data point now since biological sex alone may be missing critical information about a criminal’s profile,” he argued to The Daily Wire. “For example, I think it’s relevant for criminologists and the public to know whether gender-diverse people are overrepresented in particular crimes. Convict data from other countries, like England and Wales, and Canada, show trans-identifying males are massively overrepresented as sex criminals.”
“We don’t have that federal data in the United States,” said Ngo. “I also think it’s past due for the FBI to develop a new ideological category within violent extremism tracking which monitors and gathers data among trans militant groups, which are all on the left, who call for and organize anti-government violence, domestic terrorism and the violation of others’ civil rights.”
Detransitioners previously interviewed by The Daily Wire say that when they sought out so-called “gender-affirming” hormones, such as testosterone and estrogen, they suffered from severe mental health issues, including anorexia, depression, anxiety, and more.
Jay W. Richards, a top gender ideology expert and director of the DeVos Center for Human Flourishing at the Heritage Foundation, told The Daily Wire that mental health issues absolutely play a role in transgender-related violence, since young people suffering from gender incongruence “often have other psychological disorders, such as depression, bipolar disorder, or severe anxiety.”
“And since we’re in the middle of the gender ideology craze, we would expect that some disturbed people who attack schools will also identify as ‘trans’ or ‘nonbinary,’” he reflected. “But we need to take seriously the possibility that gender madness, and cross-sex hormones themselves, might be contributing to these tragedies. Gender ideology is a form of collective madness. Why couldn’t it&#8211;and the medical interventions associated with it&#8211;make some teens worse off psychologically?”
Under President Joe Biden’s administration, the FBI was loath to release the manifesto of the trans-identifying Nashville shooter, claiming it would lead to conspiracy theories and inaccuracies. Daring news outlets ultimately published the disturbing entries of that killer, allowing the public to understand that this was a trans-identifying woman who specifically targeted Christians for their faith.
This type of action from the Biden Justice Department only emboldened critics of that administration, who argued that the Biden DOJ and FBI were ideologically focused on promoting transgenderism and targeting parents who dissented from gender ideology in schools and Latin Mass Catholics.

“Instead of chasing down traditional Catholics, parents at school board meetings, and thousands of J6 Trump supporters in the biggest operation in history, maybe the FBI should have kept eyes on real domestic threats,” <a href="https://x.com/mirandadevine/status/1960797419525804298">suggested</a> The New York Post’s Miranda Devine last week, as more details emerged about the deadly Annunciation Church shooting.
Documents obtained by The Oversight Project <a href="https://x.com/ItsYourGov/status/1867593261193302446">indicate that under Biden</a>, the FBI even instituted policies that blocked possible transgender domestic terrorists from investigation “by placing them in a highly protected class,” allowing agents to close complaints if information on the subject is based on an individual’s gender identity.
The FBI did not respond to requests for comment for this story.

Calls To Investigate Trans Domestic Terrorism Escalate After Devastating School Shooting

Medical organizations that have backed irreversible transgender procedures on kids are facing pressure after a transgender-identifying man murdered two children and injured 18 others at a Catholic school in Minnesota on Wednesday.
The shooter who attacked the school was identified as “Robin” Westman, a 23-year-old man who started identifying as female as a minor. Westman, who previously went by Robert, left behind a series of writings that described his regret in identifying as transgender, exhibited a hatred of Christians and Jews, and a desire to kill young kids. He killed himself after spraying bullets into a group of students gathered for a Mass.
Portions of Westman’s journal, which were scribbled in a mix of Russian Cyrillic script and English, were translated by the New York Post and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/wish-i-never-brain-washed-myself-minnesota-school-shooter-said-he-was-tired-of-being-trans?author=Zach+Jewell&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=4&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=‘Wish+I+Never+Brain-Washed+Myself’%3A+Minnesota+School+Shooter+Said+He+Was+‘Tired+Of+Being+Trans’">revealed</a> his dark thoughts as he struggled with his transgender identity.
“I only keep [long hair] because it is pretty much my last shred of being trans. I am tired of being trans, I wish I never brain-washed myself,” Westman reportedly wrote.
In another section of his journal, Westman reportedly wrote, “I don’t want to dress girly all the time but I guess sometimes I really like it. I know I am not a woman but I definitely don’t feel like a man.”
Westman’s journal entries cast doubt on the assertions of many major medical organizations that have claimed that regret rates for those who attempt to change their sex are incredibly low. The shooting came as Daily Wire host Ben Shapiro released leaked footage on <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/im-not-an-expert-at-all-damning-video-exposes-medical-org-over-support-for-trans-procedures?author=Leif+Le+Mahieu&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=9&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Leaked+Footage+Exposes+Top+Med+Org’s+Support+For+Trans+Procedures+On+Kids%3A+‘I’m+Not+An+Expert+At+All’">Tuesday</a> and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/footage-reveals-med-orgs-expert-doctor-claiming-toddlers-have-stable-sense-of-gender-identity?author=Leif+Le+Mahieu&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=8&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=LEAKED+FOOTAGE%3A+Top+Med+Org’s+Trans+‘Expert’+Claims+Toddlers+Have+‘Stable’+Sense+Of+Gender+Identity">Wednesday</a> showing American Medical Association President Bobby Mukkamala and an “expert” endorsed by the org claiming that very few people regret “transitioning.”
“The shooter was a transgender regret case,” Shapiro posted Friday on X. “The day before this shooting, we exposed the American Medical Association’s negligence on regret data. The morning of, we exposed the AMA’s ‘trans expert’ admitting there’s no true psychiatric assessment done before transing a kid.”

The footage published this week by Shapiro showed both Mukkamala and Dr. Jesse Krikorian, a transgender-identifying woman offered up as an expert by the American Medical Association, claiming that about just 2% of people regret undergoing transgender procedures. They made those claims in two separate conversations with Michigan Republican state Rep. Brad Paquette.
The 2% regret rate comes from a <a href="https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33968550/">study</a> that only measured regret after surgery, not the tens of thousands of kids who have been placed on puberty blockers or cross-sex hormones. It also did not measure regret beyond two years after the initial surgery. The study also had an extremely high drop-out rate of almost 40%, making the data practically meaningless.
Shapiro said that Westman’s disturbing journal entries should be shown to leadership of the American Medical Association.
“The AMA must stop endorsing the process of having mentally ill young people meet with woke, affirmation-driven social workers and put on a medical transition path that can never actually change their sex,” Shapiro said on X.
The call was echoed by billionaire Elon Musk, who retweeted Shapiro’s thread and wrote “yes” in response to the post. Musk has told The Daily Wire that he was once &#8220;tricked&#8221; into approving so-called gender-affirming care for his child, and described his son as &#8220;killed by the woke mind virus.&#8221;
Lawmakers are also calling for an end to pushing kids down the transgender pipeline.
House GOP Whip Tom Emmer <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/top-house-republican-demands-minnesota-immediately-repeal-trans-refuge-law?author=Leif+Le+Mahieu&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=3&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Top+House+Republican+Demands+Minnesota+‘Immediately’+Repeal+‘Trans+Refuge’+Law">told</a> the New York Post on Thursday that Democrat politicians in his home state like Governor Tim Walz had encouraged mental illness by making Minnesota a “refuge” for parents seeking to have their children undergo transgender procedures.
“They have been encouraging this type of confusion. This poor young man was tortured. He clearly had serious mental health issues and rather than actually helping him, they were actually exacerbating it,&#8221; he said. &#8220;You look at the sadness of these tortured human beings — because they do have regrets later — and no, we should have never started it. It should not be allowed.&#8221;

Medical Orgs Face Pressure Over Support For Transgender Ideology After Deadly Shooting

It is becoming clearer and clearer that we have an institutional problem in this country.
Not every crime in a country of 340 million people indicates an institutional problem. Sometimes you just have one-offs; sometimes you just have people who do things that are crazy or terrible, and there&#8217;s really no way of preventing or minimizing that particular crime.
But the Annunciation Catholic School shooting is not one of those cases, because what we are looking at here is symptomatic of a broader ideological ill that has afflicted our state institutions and our medical institutions and has massive downstream effects.
Those downstream effects aren&#8217;t always school shootings. In fact, only on rare occasions are they school shootings, but the effects are harming literally thousands of children across our country. 
There&#8217;s a bizarre transmission effect that happens when the media grants enormous attention to evil, mentally ill people who go and shoot a bunch of schoolchildren. But one of the factors here is that the transgender shooter, a biological male named Robert, who then legally changed it to Robin, confessed he was “tired of being trans” and wished he had “never brainwashed himself.”
“I&#8217;m tired of being trans,” he wrote. “I wish I never brainwashed myself. I can&#8217;t cut my hair now as it would be an embarrassing defeat, and it might be a concerning change of character that could get me reported. It just always gets in my way. I&#8217;ll probably drop it on the day of the attack.”
He was afraid that cutting his hair would show a red flag to the authorities, who might have said there&#8217;s something wrong. He felt that if he decided to detransition, the Minnesota authorities might take a second look at him.
But in the state of Minnesota, there was nothing wrong with a boy saying that he was a girl and his parents signing off on forms to transition him.
This was a person who was clearly suffering from gender identity disorder and was not satisfied with the solutions provided by the trans fake medical community. We&#8217;ve been told by that fake medical community that the only way to prevent terrible things from happening to and from people who identify as trans, is to pretend along with them that they are members of the opposite sex and that we are supposed to socially shame people who “detransition.”
If you listen to the media, the shooter was a woman. The headline from the New York Times — which was totally insane — read “Minneapolis suspect knew her target, but motive is a mystery.”
The amount of Orwellian doublespeak here is insane. Respect the killer’s preferred pronouns, but pretend that the “motive is a mystery.”
We know exactly what the motive was, because it is spelled out in all of the journals and the YouTube videos and on the guns themselves.
This is not a gigantic “mystery wrapped in an enigma.” This is the media trying to cover up the reality of the situation in which a mentally ill person was not given proper treatment and was told that his delusions were a reflection of the evil patriarchy and a terrible traditional society.
A person whose parents were told by medical and state institutions that the most important thing they could do to minimize the threat to their child and to others was to pretend along with him that he was a woman. A person who was told that any sort of corrective activity designed to alleviate gender identity disorder by saying, “No, actually, you are a boy and we need to deal with that in a rational, psychologically tested way,” was wrong.
Instead of doing that, they decided to play along.
And the consequences were murder.

This implicates our institutions. It implicates our schools. It implicates our medical institutions. It implicates state legislatures.
The American Medical Association has been promoting exactly the kind of fake medicine that leads to the abandonment of people who are truly psychologically suffering. That fake medicine which masquerades as empathy is not, in fact, medicine.
It is, in fact, an ideologically-driven crusade to pretend that men and women are identical and can switch bodies at will.
And it is a lie.
If you wonder why trust has been completely undermined in “science,” it&#8217;s because the ideological Left infiltrated all of these organizations, took them over, and then wore their face around as a mask like Hannibal Lecter and said, “Why don&#8217;t you just trust the science?”
Here&#8217;s the answer: “Because you&#8217;re not interested in the science. You&#8217;re interested in the ideology.”
This is not a fringe thing happening at a few schools. It is happening at public schools across the country.
In 2023, Minnesota passed a law banning conversion therapy. When many people think of conversion therapy, they picture somebody who takes a gay kid, hooks the kid up to electrodes, then zaps them until they&#8217;re straight.
But that is not what these states now mean by conversion therapy. What they mean by conversion therapy is that you are not allowed as a psychologist, as a mental health care professional (as a parent, by the way), to bring your kid to a mental health care professional who tries to convince your boy that he is not, in fact, a girl.
So if the parents of the shooter had brought him to a mental health care professional or religious guidance professional, a priest, that could be illegal in the state of Minnesota because conversion therapy is banned in the state of Minnesota.
What this law says is that if your boy expresses gender confusion and says, “Mommy, I might be a girl” and you bring him to a psychologist and the psychologist says, “You&#8217;re a boy, you&#8217;re not a girl. You should stop trying to claim that you&#8217;re a girl because you&#8217;re not,” that would violate the law in the state of Minnesota.
It effectively makes any help for a “detransition” illegal in the state of Minnesota. If you, as a parent in the state of Minnesota, say no to transition procedures or you wish to fight the insanity that is this ideology, you could have your kid removed from you under Minnesota law.
That is horrifying. You have an entire delusion that is now being promoted by state legislatures, by governors across the country, particularly in blue states, reinforced by the lies of medical associations that are supposed to be all about “do no harm” and instead are actively promoting harm with an educational system completely honeycombed with members of the ideological Left.
The costs are very real. This happens to be an outsized cost, because it&#8217;s not just about the person who had the mental illness. It&#8217;s about all the people the person decided to harm.
This ideology is dangerous.
And we see it again and again.
