Actress <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">Alicia Silverstone</a>’s followers are begging for her to provide an update after she posted a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/tiktok">TikTok</a> video of herself ingesting what appears to be poisonous berries on Monday night.
The video caption <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@aliciasilverstone/video/7404981177574067499">says</a>, “What the heck is this!? I’m in England and can’t figure it out.”
Silverstone shared the clip of herself walking the streets of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/london">London</a> and foraging a yellow berry out of someone’s yard. “OK, I’ve discovered something that I can’t figure out what it is and I need your help,” the 47-year-old actress began.
She held up the small orange-red fruit and continued, saying, “I just bit into it because it was on the street, and we were discussing whether this was a tomato or not.”

“It’s definitely not because look at these leaves,” Silverstone said while including a shot of the bush she plucked the berry off of. “Those are the leaves, so what the heck is this?”
The “Clueless” star took a bite of another berry and said, “I don’t think you’re supposed to eat this. It’s almost like a pepper. Does anybody know what this is? I don’t know what it is; I need somebody to tell me. I’m in England.”
Followers flooded the comments with messages of concern, pointing out that the berry she was questioning looked a lot like solanum pseudocapsicum, otherwise known as a “Jerusalem cherry” or a “winter cherry.” 
This toxic nightshade species can cause <a href="https://www.poisonsinfo.health.qld.gov.au/plants-and-mushrooms/jerusalem-cherry-solanum-pseudocapsicum#:~:text=All%20parts%20of%20the%20plant,Death%20has%20been%20reported.">symptoms</a> including fever, sweating, vomiting, stomach pain, headache, and increased heart rate when ingested, especially when the fruit is unripe.
Symptoms may be delayed and persist for several days. While ingesting these berries is not usually fatal, death is possible. 
“WOMAN! UPDATE US. ARE YOU ALIVE AND WELL!?!” one popular comment says. 
Many others urged for a follow-up post, with one TikTok user writing, “Okay it is 7am in England, can you give us an update PLEASE. just a quick ‘hey I’m okay!’”

Plenty of other followers questioned Silverstone on her decision to eat something without having any idea what it was.
“Girl! berries are either great or freaking poisonous! Don&#8217;t eat rando bush-things,” one commenter wrote.
“More to the point- Why are you eating random things from someone’s garden?!” another follower agreed. 
“You bit into something you don’t know what it is? On the street!!?” a third echoed.
As of Tuesday morning, the actress had not posted any additional videos on TikTok.

The head of London England’s Metropolitan Police Force is threatening to extradite Americans and arrest them for saying things he doesn’t like.
Now, I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking, “Oh, Klavan, you elfin merchant of merriment, how on earth do you always manage to reach into your imaginational grab-bag of zany jocularity and pull up such mirthful gems of goofi-tudinous effervescence as the absurdly hilarious idea that a police commissioner in a country whose imperial army we kicked in the bum so hard it flew all the way back to their tiny irrelevant island of funny-talking homosexuals, would be crazy not to mention stupid enough to take time out from watching through his office window as a once-great nation of free Englishmen devolves into a violent hell-hole of teen-raping, machete-wielding, bomb-blasting Muslim extremists, in order to threaten a United States of individuals who seriously cannot fart in his face loud enough to express our disdain for him and his now-crappy little country?”
But no, so help me, I am not making this up.
While there are still many great police detectives solving serious crimes in Britain, like Inspector Morse and Inspector Morse when he was a younger man, they are limited in their jurisdiction by the fact of being imaginary. Whereas Metropolitan Police Chief Sir Mark Rowley, who would be imaginary in a better world, is in this world and ridiculously real. And while in this world, Muslim gangs in the U.K. have repeatedly groomed teenage girls as sex slaves while authorities looked the other way, and Muslim honor crimes such as murder, punitive gang rape and forced genital mutilation have risen 200 percent in the U.K. since 2016 while authorities looked the other way, and while Islamic terror accounts for nearly 70 percent of U.K. terror attacks while authorities let illegal Islamist immigrants swarm in unchecked, Sir Mark has been dispatching his officers to arrest Britons for having opinions and posting them on Facebook. And now, he&#8217;s threatening to extend this oppressive idiocy to people in our country where we just feel Sir Mark should, to translate this into his own language, bugger off and stick to arresting women who pray silently for abortion victims while his country turns into Afghanistan except full of funny-talking homosexuals, like in Afghanistan.
Sir Mark — who along with being the Metropolitan Police Commissioner also serves full time as a gormless twit — made his remarks after riots broke out across his country in the wake of a horrible murder. After years of being told that the massive illegal flood of immigrants into Britain was not causing the crime, abuse and terrorism it was causing, Angry White British People assumed the police, who had lied and lied and lied and then lied, were lying when they said the murders had not been committed by an illegal Muslim immigrant. Furious, the Angry White People stupidly clashed with Muslim people who did not kill anybody, since it turned out in this case, the police had broken with long-standing police protocol and were telling the truth.

The Angry White People then decided that while they were stupidly rioting, maybe they should keep at it in the hopes that the authorities would stop the illegal immigration that was causing all the crime, abuse and terrorism. After all, the man who is now Prime Minister had been in favor of stupid race riots when British people stupidly rioted over the death of George Floyd as if they lived in America instead of their crappy little gay country. So the Angry White People figured, hey, we’re white, the illegals are brown, so this will be one of those stupid race riots the Prime Minister loves so very much.
Unfortunately, the Angry White People had not read the stupid race riot small print which says brown stupid race riots are great but white stupid race riots are so bad that even if you live in America and post about them on Facebook, Police Commissioner and Gormless Twit Sir Mark Funny-Talking Homosexual will come to America to arrest you, which would, in fact, promote brotherhood by bringing Americans of all races, colors and creeds together to kick Sir Mark in the bum so hard he goes flying back to Londonistan where he bloody well belongs.

Kansas City Chiefs star <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/travis-kelce">Travis Kelce</a> made a surprise appearance on stage at his girlfriend <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/taylor-swift" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Taylor Swift&#8217;s</a> “The Eras Tour&#8221; concert show in London on Sunday.
In <a href="https://x.com/BAHjournalist/status/1804974599672918521">videos and clips</a> posted on social media from the third show at Wembley Stadium, Kelce appeared dressed in a tuxedo and top hat as part of the outfit change introduction to the 34-year-old singer’s hit song “I Can Do It With A Broken Heart” from her new “The Tortured Poets Department” album.
Kelce stepped in for one of her dancers as he carried Swift across the stage and pretended to do her makeup and get her ready to perform the song. 
The NFL football star was greeted by loud applause and cheers as fans went crazy seeing Kelce and Swift together on stage, with both grinning from ear to ear, before the superstar singer took the mic from another dancer and started singing the popular song.

On Monday, Swift posted a couple pictures on her <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/C8myZeBOoV6/?img_index=1">Instagram</a> from the latest Wembley show and mentioned how she was still &#8220;swooning&#8221; from the interaction with Kelce in her show.
“Wembley Stadium round one was so surreal,” Swift captioned her post. “Looking out into crowds of 90,000 fans each night and hearing that VOLUME … Those were some of the loudest crowds I’ve ever heard.”
“Acoustic sections went OFF. It was only the second time she’s posted on her Instagram about her NFL star boyfriend. Days earlier, the “Shake It Off” hitmaker went Instagram official with their relationship when she posted a picture from her first London show posing with Prince William, Princess Charlotte, Prince George, and Kelce, who were all at her show.
She captioned the post, “Happy Bday M8! London shows are off to a splendid start <a href="https://www.instagram.com/princeandprincessofwales/">@princeandprincessofwales</a>.”
The Kansas City tight end and “Blank Space” hitmaker have been linked together since last summer.
It was previously believed the two had their first date after she attended his game on September 24. “Lord of the Rings” actor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">Ian McKellen</a> was hospitalized after falling from the stage during a Monday performance at the Noël Coward Theater in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/london">London</a>.
The 85-year-old lost his balance and fell during a battle scene in “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/theater">Player Kings</a>,” a production of Shakespeare&#8217;s &#8220;Henry IV, Parts One and Two,&#8221; per <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cx88v15r41jo">BBC</a>. McKellen reportedly cried out in pain after his fall, prompting staff to rush over and assist him. The report said the theater was &#8220;evacuated&#8221; and Tuesday night&#8217;s performance was also canceled.
McKellen is expected to make a full recovery.
“Thank you to our audience and the general public for their well wishes following Ian’s fall during this evening’s performance of ‘Player Kings,&#8217;” a statement from the theater said. 
“Following a scan, the brilliant NHS team have assured us that he will make a speedy and full recovery and Ian is in good spirits,” it said. “The production has made the decision to cancel the performance on Tuesday 18 June so Ian can rest. Those affected will be contacted by their point of purchase as soon as possible tomorrow. Thank you to doctors Rachel and Lee who were on hand in the audience and to all the venue staff for their support.”
An audience member told BBC the fall was “very shocking.”
“As far as I saw, he was conscious because he was asking for assistance,” the witness explained.

London-based journalist Charlie Johnson was in the audience and shared his account of the fall with an X post. “Just witnessed Ian McKellen severely injure himself after falling off stage at Noel Coward Theatre. Sir Ian could be heard screaming in pain as ushers rushed to his aid. Show cancelled as he is treated by ambulance crews. Wish him all the best,” he <a href="https://x.com/cejohnson99/status/1802787738250363025?s=46&amp;t=7dEMLEvmtKbqI2lGLTp4lQ">wrote</a>.
McKellen frequently acts in Shakespearean plays, including productions of “Macbeth,” “King Lear,” “Richard II,” “Coriolanus,” “Iago,” and “Richard III.” He is the winner of a Tony Award and six Olivier Awards, which are the British equivalent awarded for excellence in professional theater. 
The actor became internationally known for his portrayal of Gandalf in “The Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit.” McKellen also played Magneto in the “X-Men” films.

‘Screaming In Pain’: Ian McKellen Hospitalized After Falling Off Stage

A Singapore Airlines Boeing 777-300 ran into severe turbulence on its flight from London to Singapore on Tuesday, resulting in one death and at least 30 injuries.
Flight SQ 321 was diverted to Bangkok after hitting turbulence and landed at 3:45 p.m. local time, the BBC <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c8889d7x8j4o" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. There were 211 passengers and 18 crew aboard the aircraft. It remains unclear if the person who died was a passenger or part of the crew. Airline tracking data showed that Flight SQ 321 dropped around 6,000 feet after hitting an air pocket, according to <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/world/article/2024/may/21/severe-turbulence-london-to-singapore-flight" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Guardian</a>.
The airline confirmed the incident in a <a href="https://x.com/SingaporeAir/status/1792866501713891682" target="_blank" rel="noopener">statement</a> posted to social media.
&#8220;Singapore Airlines offers its deepest condolences to the family of the deceased,&#8221; the airline said.
“Our priority is to provide all possible assistance to all passengers and crew on board the aircraft,” the airline <a href="https://www.facebook.com/singaporeair/posts/pfbid024n7Be8fKTkdtpDKhCtwvCA6tRN1VJfUXrS5NFnHNGceCTaDWX2Z3d7r5VqSSTvuRl" target="_blank" rel="noopener">added</a>. “We are working with the local authorities in Thailand to provide the necessary medical assistance, and sending a team to Bangkok to provide any additional assistance needed.”
Singapore Airlines didn&#8217;t specify how many people had been injured in the incident, but multiple <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/world/article/2024/may/21/severe-turbulence-london-to-singapore-flight" target="_blank" rel="noopener">outlets</a> have <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/05/21/world-news/one-passenger-killed-30-injured-after-london-singapore-flight-hit-by-severe-turbulence/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that 30 people were hurt.
Thai authorities and first responders were on the scene after the Singapore Airlines plane landed at the Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok.
Turbulence occurs when an aircraft is hit with &#8220;an irregular motion of the air resulting from eddies and vertical currents,&#8221; according to the <a href="https://www.weather.gov/source/zhu/ZHU_Training_Page/turbulence_stuff/turbulence/turbulence.htm" target="_blank" rel="noopener">National Weather Service</a>. Turbulence is common for all commercial flights and can happen anywhere regardless of weather conditions, but it can be &#8220;associated with fronts, wind shear, thunderstorms, etc.,&#8221; NWS says.

It results in &#8220;large, abrupt changes in altitude and/or attitude,&#8221; which can also cause the aircraft to &#8220;be momentarily out of control.&#8221; Only &#8220;Extreme&#8221; turbulence is worse and results in an aircraft being &#8220;violently tossed about and practically impossible to control.&#8221;

Paris and London are &#8220;no longer recognizable&#8221; thanks to the inundation of &#8220;jihad,&#8221; according to former President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/donald-trump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Donald Trump</a>, who warned on Wednesday that the U.S. must guard against following a similar path.
Trump made the remarks at a campaign rally in Wisconsin on Wednesday night where he said his comments would get him &#8220;into a lot of trouble with the folks in Paris and the folks in London.&#8221;

Anti-Israel protests have broken out in both London and Paris in the months following Hamas&#8217; attack on Israel. On November 11, also known as Armistice Day, tens of thousands of anti-Israel demonstrators <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/pro-palestinian-protesters-fill-london-on-armistice-day" target="_blank" rel="noopener">flooded</a> the streets of London, waving Palestinian flags. Paris has also seen recent anti-Israel <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/students-block-paris-sciences-po-university-over-gaza-war-2024-04-26/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">protests</a> pop up at universities in the city, during some of which police have had to step in to prevent any violence.
France has seen an explosion in Muslim migrants since the early 2010s with over half a million coming to the country between 2010 and 2016 alone, according to <a href="https://www.pewresearch.org/religion/2017/11/29/europes-growing-muslim-population/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Pew Research</a>. The U.K., meanwhile, took in nearly 700,000 Muslim migrants over the same time period.
Trump caused outrage with his comments in 2015 when he said after a terrorist attack took place in the French capital, “They have areas in Paris where it is so radicalized and so vicious … that the police refuse to go there,&#8221; POLITICO <a href="https://www.politico.eu/article/trump-says-paris-london-are-no-longer-recognizable/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
&#8220;That’s what’s going to happen with our country,” he added.

He made a similar comment about London at the time, saying, “London and other places … are so radicalized that the police are afraid for their own lives.”
Upon entering the White House in 2017, Trump signed an executive order either suspending or severely limiting people from multiple Muslim-majority countries from being admitted into the U.S. Last year, Trump <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-bring-back-travel-ban-muslim-countries/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">promised</a> to bring the travel ban back if he wins a second term in the White House.
&#8220;When I return to office, the travel ban is coming back even bigger than before and much stronger than before,&#8221; he said. &#8220;We don&#8217;t want people blowing up our shopping centers. We don&#8217;t want people blowing up our cities, and we don&#8217;t want people stealing our farms. So it&#8217;s not gonna happen.&#8221;

Though the university, similar to Columbia, called intimidation and threats of violence “completely unacceptable” and warned that “students identified as being involved in making such threats will face disciplinary action,” there’s no indication that any such action was taken. Neither the university nor Shafik, who had been president of the school since 2017, responded to requests for comment on the incident.
Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), who has been one of Shafik’s harshest critics and has called on her to resign, said the incident gives her “zero confidence” that there will be consequences for the “pro-terrorist” students.
“Columbia University President Shafik&#8217;s history of allowing students who perpetrate antisemitic attacks to go unpunished gives me zero confidence that Shafik will follow through and hold Columbia students accountable for their role in the antisemitic, pro-terrorist mob that has seized control of the university,” Stefanik told The Daily Wire. “Shafik must be terminated immediately, and Columbia University must make public the names of every student suspended or expelled for taking part in this antisemitic mob.&#8221;
Columbia’s Hamilton Hall and South Lawn were cleared of anti-Israel protesters after nearly two weeks of the school engaging in negotiations with students and refusing to clear the encampment permanently by force. While the school has continually threatened disciplinary actions, some worry that the students will avoid consequences.
Similarly to the ongoing protests on college campuses across the United States, there was overt anti-Semitism present at the 2021 incident at Shafik’s London School of Economics.
The 2021 mob coincided with the 83rd anniversary of Kristallnacht — also known as the Night of Broken Glass — when Jewish-owned stores, buildings, and synagogues were vandalized by Nazis across Germany.
Ahead of the event, an Instagram account called LSEclasswar encouraged violence, according to <a href="https://www.jpost.com/breaking-news/uk-ambassador-evacuated-after-pro-palestinian-activists-crash-debate-kan-news-684537">The Jerusalem Post</a>, writing “Whoever smashes the Ambassador [sic] car window gets pints.  Let’s f**king frighten her.”
Several of the students who hosted Hotovely were followed home, harassed, and threatened with violence, according to <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10190223/Pro-Palestine-protestors-followed-students-home-calling-war-criminals-LSE-event.html">The Daily Mail</a>.
“At the end of the talk I waited for my friends to leave the premises so that I could walk with them,” a student reportedly said. “More worryingly four to five individuals began to follow us as we walked down Lincoln park and these individuals in particular began to verbally harass the organizers by saying the ‘Kashmiri people are ashamed of you’ and that ‘&#8217;you are war criminals.’”
“One individual in particular began to physically threaten the organizers by saying ‘I will f*** you up, p****holes’ and ‘come on, fight me, p****holes.’” the student added.
The event was the first of a series which included a subsequent event with the Palestinian ambassador to the U.K., Husam Zomlot.
Hotovely thanked the British government for support following the ordeal, and said she would not be intimidated.

Professional squatters who set up shop in celebrity chef <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">Gordon Ramsay</a>’s $16.1 million York &amp; Albany gastropub were served <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/property-rights">eviction papers</a>, which prompted some of them to leave but others to ignore the directive and stay.
The group Camden Arts Cafe, who call themselves an “autonomous cafe in the heart of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/united-kingdom">Camden</a>,” replied to the papers by expressing disappointment about the situation. 
“We are sad to announce Camden art collective have left the building after being served papers yesterday,” they wrote on Instagram, per <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/04/17/world-news/gordon-ramsay-london-squatters-kicked-out-after-being-served-some-left-behind/">The New York Post</a>. “We wish those left in the building the best of luck in their endeavors. We hope to be a part of the community again soon.”
The group had previously defended setting up in the shuttered restaurant, saying they had a right to occupy the venue because it was not a residential building and was therefore not included under 2012 legislation which protected private residences from squatters in the U.K., per <a href="https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/gordon-ramsay-squat-camden-inside-b2528900.html">The Independent</a>. 
Each of the squatters referred to themselves as “Gordon” to protect their identities. They told the outlet they were occupying the space as a form of protest for so-called “victims of gentrification” and the U.K.’s planned high-speed railway, H2S, which has an estimated completion date between 2029 and 2033.
“We aim to open our doors regularly to anyone and everyone, particularly the people of Camden who have been victims of gentrification and parasitic projects like HS2,” the group said in a previous social media post.

The group said they targeted Ramsay’s restaurant in an effort to draw attention to wealth inequality. The US Sun reported that the pub was temporarily closed while the Food Network star was finalizing a new lease. During the interim, the professional squatters circumvented security measures and moved themselves in.  
“The York and Albany is an iconic building in Camden since its opening in the 1820s; it has withstood wars and bombs, and despite what the media says, it will withstand the potentially short but hopefully long stay we squatters have here,” they wrote.
“At a time when Camden market has been bought out by a billionaire and many longstanding local businesses are being evicted from their units, it’s even more important that we all band together in all the forms of resistance that we know and can.”

Waddingham plays the character Rebecca Welton, the new owner of AFC Richmond, on the show.
The comedy’s first season was nominated for 20 Primetime Emmy Awards, making it the most nominated first-season comedy in Emmy show history. It went on to win a slew of other accolades, including the Best Actress Emmy for Waddingham in 2021.

London&#8217;s Victoria &amp; Albert Museum took some serious backlash over the weekend after it was reported that an exhibit on British humor had included the late Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher alongside Osama bin Laden and Adolf Hitler in a short list of &#8220;contemporary villains.&#8221;
The exhibit, which was meant to show how British humor had evolved over time, showcased Victorian &#8220;Punch &amp; Judy&#8221; puppets along with a caption that included the following:
<blockquote>Over the years, the evil character in this seaside puppet show has shifted from the Devil to unpopular public figures including Adolf Hitler, Margaret Thatcher and Osama bin Laden, to offer contemporary villains.</blockquote>
Critics were quick to address the issue, with many noting that whatever people thought of Thatcher — Britain&#8217;s first female prime minister — she hardly belonged on a short list of &#8220;villains&#8221; that only included 9/11 architect and al Qaeda terrorist bin Laden and Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler.
Nile Gardiner, former aide to Thatcher, argued that the museum should lose access to any government funding over the display. &#8220;The V&amp; A should have its public funding taken away because it&#8217;s engaging here in political activity,&#8221; he said.

A London play starring “Game of Thrones” star Kit Harrington will host two performances where only black audience members, or those identifying as black, will be permitted to view the play, “free from the white gaze.”
“Slave Play,” which received 12 Tony nominations in 2021, but won no awards, will run at the Noël Coward theater in London&#8217;s West End from June 29 to September 21 and feature performances on July 17 and September 17 with “Black Out nights.”
“Blackout nights are the purposeful creation of an environment in which an all-Black-identifying audience can experience and discuss an event in the performing arts, film, athletic and cultural spaces — free from the white gaze,” the theater noted.
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s office <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-68440104" target="_blank" rel="noopener">released a statement</a> saying, “The prime minister is a big supporter of the arts and he believes that the arts should be inclusive and open to everyone, particularly where those arts venues are in receipt of public funding. Restricting audiences on the basis of race would be wrong and divisive.”
“I understand the subject matter of the show may have particular resonance for some but would simply question the legality of this? In other circles it would be illegal and racial discrimination. I don&#8217;t understand why this isn&#8217;t,” one member of Parliament told <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13130911/West-End-tells-white-theatregoers-arent-welcome-hosts-black-audience-nights-Kit-Harrington-play-protect-ticketholders-white-gaze.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Daily Mail.</a>
The play’s producers told The BBC the “intent is to celebrate the play with the widest possible audience. We want to increase accessibility to theatre for everyone.&#8221;
&#8220;The Broadway production conceived of Black Out nights and we are carefully considering how to incorporate this endeavour as part of two performances in our 13-week run. We will release further details soon. To be absolutely clear, no-one will be prevented or precluded from attending any performance of Slave Play.&#8221;
Playwright Jeremy O. Harris told BBC Sounds:

The play itself focuses on three modern-day interracial couples who attempt to mend tensions in their relationships by engaging in &#8220;antebellum sexual-performance therapy,&#8221; <a href="https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2023/09/25/jeremy-o-harris-before-and-after-slave-play">according</a> to The New Yorker. The black characters in the play no longer experience pleasure in their relationships with their white partners and attempt to recapture it through the racially-charged sexual roleplaying.

At a London theater that used to be a synagogue, an Irish comic reportedly turned on a Jewish member of the audience, repeatedly yelled, “Get the f*** out of here,” and prompted the audience to repeat the chant “Free Palestine.”
Liahav Eitan, an Israeli Jew who moved to London five years ago, attended a show by Paul Currie on Saturday night at the Soho Theatre as a last-minute time filler before going to a dinner celebration of his 33rd birthday. Near the end of the show, Currie unfurled a flag of Ukraine and a flag representing Palestinians, exhorting the crowd to make a standing ovation. When Eitan and his friend remained seated, Eitan said Currie “lingered” on them for roughly five to ten seconds until Eitan said, “Thank you for that Palestine flag.”
Eitan told <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13076461/Met-Police-launch-investigation-Soho-Theatre-shocking-incident-Jewish-audience-member-hounded-comedian-Paul-Currie-comic-doubles-act-sharing-PRAISE-incendiary-routine-online.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Daily Mail</a> that Currie — who had attended a pro-Palestine rally hours before — asked Eitan if he was being sarcastic, then said something like “Okay, well, you&#8217;re welcome. You&#8217;re welcome for the Palestine flag. It was part of the show,” then added, “Did you enjoy the show?” When Eitan answered “Yes,” Eitan stated, Currie started screaming, “I&#8217;m from Belfast. I know everything about ceasefires. Ceasefire now, get the f*** out of my theatre. Get out, get the f*** out of my show, motherf***ers.”
“The only way out was through the stage,” Eitan recalled. “We had to actually get on the stage quite close to him — and I was quite afraid that he&#8217;d throw a punch because he was still cursing and shouting. He got out his Palestine flag again and shouted ‘motherf***er you&#8217;ll have to watch it again on your way out.’”
Another Jewish member of the audience later told <a href="https://www.thedailybeast.com/jewish-man-tells-cops-comic-paul-currie-threw-an-israeli-out-of-his-comedy-show" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Daily Beast</a> that “quite a few” audience members stood and shouted, “Free Palestine! Free Palestine! Get the f*** out of here.’” He said that Eitan remained calm, adding, “I think he was incredibly brave because in a room full of 200 people, to be able to say ‘I enjoyed the show until you took out the flag’ I thought was incredibly brave.” He called the experience “quite frightening because there were a lot of people sort of screaming at that time.”
A Met Police spokesman told The Daily Mail, “We are aware of the incident that took place at the Soho Theatre on Saturday evening. We understand why it was upsetting for those involved and we note the venue has issued a statement confirming they are looking into what took place. A report was submitted to police on Monday and inquiries are ongoing.”
The Soho Theatre issued the following statement:

Other Jews in the audience left the theater, later <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/news/2024/feb/12/soho-theatre-apologises-after-comedian-abused-jewish-audience-member" target="_blank" rel="noopener">telling</a> Campaign Against Antisemitism, “It felt like we were welcome in the theatre as long as our identities [as] Jews weren’t known, and the minute our identities were known, we felt threatened.”
Campaign Against Antisemitism <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/news/2024/feb/12/soho-theatre-apologises-after-comedian-abused-jewish-audience-member" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stated,</a> “What the Jewish audience members have recounted is atrocious, and we are working with them and our lawyers to ensure that those who instigated and enabled it are held to account. These allegations are of deeply disturbing discriminatory abuse against Jews. Comedians are rightly given broad latitude, but hounding Jews out of theatres is reminiscent of humanity&#8217;s darkest days, and must have no place in central London in 2024.”
