A federal housing agency referred leftist New York Attorney General Letitia James to the Justice Department for criminal prosecution over alleged actions to obtain more favorable loans on multiple properties she owned.
Federal Housing Finance Agency Director William Pulte said in a letter to the DOJ on Monday that there was evidence that James falsified records over properties she owned in Virginia and Brooklyn, New York, to secure a lower mortgage rate for government-backed loans. Pulte said that James, who aggressively prosecuted Donald Trump during his last presidential campaign, should be investigated for wire fraud, mail fraud, bank fraud, and making false statements to a financial institution.
&#8220;Based on media reports, Ms. Letitia James has, in multiple instances, falsified bank documents and property records to acquire government backed assistance and loans and more favorable loan terms,&#8221; Pulte wrote to Attorney General Pam Bondi. &#8220;This has potentially included 1) falsifying residence status for a Norfolk, Virginia-based home in order to secure a lower mortgage rate and 2) misrepresenting property descriptions to meet stringent requirements for government backed loans and government assistance.&#8221;
In August 2023, James reportedly listed her primary residence as the Norfolk property on federal mortgage documents even though she was &#8220;primarily residing in the state of New York&#8221; at the time and &#8220;required by law to have her primary residence in the state of New York&#8221; because of her statewide position, according to Pulte. 
&#8220;Primary residence mortgages receive more favorable loan terms, including lower interest rates, than secondary residence mortgages. Lenders view secondary residence mortgages as significantly riskier, as a borrower is more likely to continue paying off a primary residence mortgage during any financial hardship,&#8221; Pulte wrote. 
In the second example, Pulte said that James has listed a Brooklyn property she has owned since 2001 as having only four units, even though it has five.
&#8220;A building that exceeds four units must be treated as a multifamily property, and typically has larger down payment requirements and higher interest rates terms—with interest rates being between 0.75-1 percent higher—due to lenders viewing multifamily loans as significantly riskier,&#8221; he wrote. 
Pulte noted that he attached other documentation from 1983 that he said showed James and her father had signed a mortgage document as husband and wife, which he said &#8220;raised concerns about the validity&#8221; of her mortgage applications.
In response to the allegations, James accused the Trump administration of weaponizing the government.
“Attorney General James is focused every single day on protecting New Yorkers, especially as this Administration weaponizes the federal government against the rule of law and the Constitution. She will not be intimidated by bullies — no matter who they are,” she <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/04/15/us-news/trump-administration-refers-ny-ag-tish-james-for-prosecution/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>.
James <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/04/16/us-news/letitia-james-dodges-questions-about-mortgage-fraud-scandal-outside-nyc-home-pretends-to-be-on-the-phone/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">dodged</a> reporters on Wednesday morning as she left her house and held a phone up to her ear, the New York Post reported. She didn&#8217;t take any questions.
Last year, James <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-appeals-454-million-civil-fraud-judgment" target="_blank" rel="noopener">secured</a> a $454 million civil fraud judgment against Trump and got him banned from doing business in New York for three years for claims that he made misleading financial statements on property evaluations to banks to secure better terms on loans. During the trial, Trump&#8217;s defense stood by the evaluations and said that all the loans were repaid.
Republicans praised the Trump administration&#8217;s criminal prosecution referral, pointing to James&#8217; statements during her prosecution of Trump that &#8220;no one is above the law.&#8221;
&#8220;Letitia James engaged in some of the most shameful, partisan lawfare against President Trump—based on far less evidence than this,&#8221; Senator Tom Cotton posted on X. &#8220;No one is above the law.&#8221;

A federal judge on Friday ruled that the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) may access sensitive systems in the Department of Treasury after a weeks-long battle.
U.S. District Court Judge Jeannette Vargas said that one member of the DOGE team may access sensitive payment and data systems at Treasury as long as that member undergoes training. The member, Ryan Wunderly, would also need to submit a financial disclosure.
Vargas’ Friday <a href="https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.nysd.636609/gov.uscourts.nysd.636609.139.0.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ruling</a> came nearly two months after she blocked DOGE from the systems amid a legal challenge from blue state attorneys general.
“The Court hereby modifies the PI Order to permit Defendants to grant Ryan Wunderly access to Treasury Department payment records, payment systems, and any other data systems maintained by the Treasury Department containing personally identifiable information and/or confidential financial information of payees, PROVIDED THAT (i) Wunderly first completes any hands-on training in such systems that is typically required of other Treasury employees granted commensurate access; and (ii) that Wunderly first submits his OGE 278 Financial Disclosure Report,” Vargas wrote.
In February, New York Attorney General Letitia James led a coalition of 18 other Democratic attorneys general in a lawsuit challenging DOGE’s access across the federal government. DOGE is spearheading President Donald Trump’s push to cut waste, fraud, and abuse from the government and better direct federal funds toward his agenda.
“Giving the world’s richest man unauthorized access to our nation’s central payment system, and our most sensitive personal information, puts all Americans – and the essential funds they depend on – at risk,” James <a href="https://ag.ny.gov/press-release/2025/attorney-general-james-stops-elon-musk-and-doge-accessing-americans-private">said</a> in February. “With this illegal power grab, Musk and DOGE are trying to wipe out vital programs and services – from health care to public safety to education – that our communities need.”
James’ lawsuit argued that only trained career civil servants should have access to the Treasury systems, closely guarded because of the amount of sensitive and personal information of Americans stored in them.
The Trump administration had argued at the time that only two DOGE team members had been granted access to the Treasury systems, and that they had each received some training.
The ruling comes as DOGE continues its reviews of payments and systems across the federal government. DOGE <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/doge-review-finds-three-dem-states-account-for-most-unemployment-fraud-since-2020">announced</a> on Thursday that an initial review of unemployment claims found $382 million in suspect payments. Nearly 80% of those payments came from three deep-blue states: California, New York, and Massachusetts.
“California, New York, and Massachusetts accounted for most of these improper claims, totaling $305M in unemployment benefits,” said DOGE. “Additionally, California accounted for 68% of the unemployment benefits paid to parolees identified by CBP on the terrorist watchlist or with criminal records.”

New York Democratic Attorney General <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/letitia-james" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Letitia James</a> warned hospitals in the state against canceling appointments for transgender procedures on minors after President Donald Trump signed an executive order to protect children from irreversible surgeries and hormone therapy.
In a <a href="https://ag.ny.gov/sites/default/files/letters/ag-james-to-hc-providers-re-tro-letter-2025.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">letter</a> sent to New York health care providers on Monday, James said that hospitals have &#8220;obligations to comply with New York state laws,&#8221; adding that refusing service to &#8220;transgender individuals&#8221; goes against anti-discrimination laws.
“Electing to refuse services to a class of individuals based on their protected status, such as withholding the availability of services from transgender individuals based on their gender identity or their diagnosis of gender dysphoria, while offering such services to cisgender individuals, is discrimination under New York law,” the letter stated.
Hospitals across the U.S. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hospitals-across-u-s-stop-transitioning-children-after-trump-signs-order-protecting-kids" target="_blank" rel="noopener">began canceling appointments</a> for life-altering gender procedures on children after Trump signed an order on &#8220;Protecting Children from Chemical and Surgical Mutilation,&#8221; Daily Wire White House Correspondent Mary Margaret Olohan reported on Monday.
“It’s already having its intended effect — preventing children from being maimed and sterilized by adults perpetuating a radical, false claim that they can somehow change a child’s sex,” the White House said. “Hospitals around the country are taking action to downsize or eliminate their so-called ‘gender-affirming care’ programs.”
Trump&#8217;s order threatens to withhold federal funding from any hospital that continues to conduct gender procedures on children. According to <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/02/03/nyregion/ny-attorney-general-transgender-care.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The New York Times</a>, NYU Langone, one of the top hospitals in NYC, canceled appointments for transgender procedures on minors within days of Trump&#8217;s order. Reports of the cancellations led to a protest — attended by hundreds of people — outside of NYU Langone on Monday evening. Some of the protesters waved transgender pride flags and carried signs that called on the hospital to continue the irreversible procedures on children.
“This is the last thing that we need to be worried about, a political system attacking our family,” said one father at the demonstration. The man told the Times that his 12-year-old child identifies as &#8220;gender-fluid,&#8221; and they were seeking doctors&#8217; opinions on whether to have the child undergo hormone therapy.
Dozens of states have taken action to protect children from gender procedures, and more federal action could be on the horizon with a Republican-controlled House and Senate. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told The Daily Wire last week that the president would also support Congressional action to shield gender-confused minors from transgender surgeries, puberty blockers, and hormone therapy.
&#8220;As for congressional legislation to support the president’s agenda in this space, and certainly ending the mutilation of young children, the chemical castration of young children, which is a barbaric practice that the vast majority of Americans do not support, for young, minor children, certainly, the president would support Congress’ efforts, as he has already made that very clear this week,&#8221; Leavitt said.

Watchdog group Consumers&#8217; Research warned butter giant <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/land-olakes-drops-its-racist-native-american-packaging-after-nearly-100-years" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Land O’Lakes</a> on Friday that its climate-focused initiatives could expose it to lawsuits that may raise costs for customers, according to a letter first shared with The Daily Wire. 
In a <a href="https://dw-wp-production.imgix.net/2025/01/Land-O-Lakes-Industry-Warning-Letter.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">letter</a> to Land O’Lakes CEO Beth Ford, Consumers&#8217; Research Executive Director Will Hild said that the agricultural company should stop pushing net-zero initiatives and focus on satisfying customers. Hild said the climate targets could create legal risks, pointing to a <a href="https://ag.ny.gov/press-release/2024/attorney-general-james-sues-worlds-largest-beef-producer-misrepresenting" target="_blank" rel="noopener">lawsuit</a> filed against meat processor JBS by New York Attorney General Letitia James over its climate promises. 
&#8220;Consumers’ Research is concerned that it is only a matter of time before national grocers, food producers, and food retailers, including Land O&#8217; Lakes, Inc., are subjected to state actions targeting their unrealistic net-zero commitments, as has happened with JBS,&#8221; Hild wrote.
Hild’s letter pointed to multiple Land O&#8217;Lakes climate goals, which closely mirror net-zero targets set by JBS. These goals, featured in its <a href="https://careers.landolakesinc.com/us/en/blogarticle/2021-esg-report-commitment-to-social-responsibility" target="_blank" rel="noopener">2021 ESG report</a> and 2023 <a href="https://api.landolakesinc.com/getmedia/8eea43e3-8d04-49ef-bf06-33204ed772d3/1224-lol-cir-digital.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Community Impact report</a>, include reducing direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions by 42% by 2030, and net-zero in 2050.
&#8220;As this comparison makes plain, Land O&#8217; Lakes’ statements on emissions reduction goals expose the company to the same type of litigation JBS currently faces,&#8221; Hild wrote.
James has alleged that JBS’s net-zero target is “greenwashing” that “exploits the pocketbooks of everyday Americans and the promise of a healthy planet for future generations” by misleading customers. 
&#8220;The JBS lawsuit by General James has made plain that there is risk lurking in the ESG and sustainability commitments of countless grocers and food retailers. There is no better time than now for Land O&#8217; Lakes to course correct, remove this ESG risk, and pivot back to a pro-consumer approach to its business,&#8221; Hild wrote.
The letter went out the same time as Consumers&#8217; Research sent out a “woke alert” detailing how Land O’Lakes has embraced a variety of other DEI and ESG policies. 
For example, the company detailed in its 2021 ESG report that it had mandated “unconscious bias training for all people leaders,” noted that the company has an annual DEI-themed summit, and boasted that it scored 100% when ranked by the leftist Human Rights Campaign. 
Its 2023 community impact report also included a bar measuring how many non-white males it had working for the company.

For example, the community impact report said that the company was “committed to helping our member-owners reduce the environmental impact of farming, especially the impacts of on-farm greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions” through its Dairy 2025 initiative. As part of this project, the company hires consultants to measure the farmers&#8217; “milk emission factor.”
In 2020, the Minnesota-based Land O&#8217;Lakes dropped the American Indian woman who had adorned its packaging for nearly 100 years after some people complained the logo was racist.

A federal judge ruled Thursday that several <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/new-york" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New York</a> crisis pregnancy centers could continue to speak freely about the abortion pill reversal protocol as state Attorney General <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/letitia-james" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Letitia James</a> cracks down on pregnancy centers in the state. 
U.S. District Judge John Sinatra granted a preliminary injunction to the National Institute of Family and Life Advocates, Gianna’s House, and the Options Care Center against James, who has sued pro-life pregnancy centers across the state over their promotion of the abortion pill reversal protocol. 
The protocol is a method <a href="https://lozierinstitute.org/abortion-pill-reversal-a-record-of-safety-and-efficacy/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">backed</a> by pro-life organizations where a woman can take a prescribed dose of bioidentical progesterone to potentially reverse the effects of mifepristone and save an unborn child if she changes her mind at the last minute about going through with the abortion.
“The First Amendment protects Plaintiffs’ right to speak freely about [abortion pill reversal] protocol and, more specifically, to say that it is safe and effective for a pregnant woman to use in consultation with her doctor,” Sinatra <a href="https://adfmedialegalfiles.blob.core.windows.net/files/NIFLA-James-Ruling.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a> in his ruling. “Indeed, the ‘very purpose of the First Amendment is to foreclose public authority from assuming a guardianship of the public mind through regulating the press, speech, and religion.’”
The pro-life groups, represented by Alliance Defending Freedom, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/new-york-attorney-general-hit-with-another-lawsuit-over-her-targeting-of-pro-life-groups" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced a lawsuit</a> against James in May after she launched lawsuits against 11 pregnancy centers accusing them of false advertising.
“Women in New York have literally saved their babies from an in-progress chemical drug abortion because they had access to information through their local pregnancy centers about using safe and effective progesterone for abortion pill reversal,” said ADF lawyer Caleb Dalton. “But the attorney general tried to deny women the opportunity to even hear about this life-saving option.”

“Taking supplemental progesterone may give them a chance to save their baby’s life. Women should have the option to reconsider an abortion, and the pro-life pregnancy centers we represent in this case truthfully inform them about that choice,” he added. “The court was right to affirm the pregnancy centers’ freedom to tell interested women about this life-saving treatment option.”
Pregnancy centers around the country have come under fire from Democratic lawmakers and pro-abortion activists after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. According to CatholicVote, <a href="https://catholicvote.org/pregnancy-center-attack-tracker/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">there</a> have been at least 93 attacks on pregnancy centers and pro-life groups since a copy of the decision to overturn Roe leaked. 
Aid for Women, one such center based in Chicago, was vandalized after the closing of the Democratic National Convention on Thursday, according to photos posted by Mary FioRito.  The photos showed red painted plastered on the door and spray paint saying “Fake Clinic” and “the dead babies are in Gaza.”

James is being sued by the National Institute of Family and Life Advocates, as well as Gianna’s House and Options Care Center. “Many women regret their abortions, and some seek to stop the effects of chemical abortion drugs before taking the second drug in the abortion drug process. James&#8217; suit goes after a dozen pro-life ministries over their support of the Abortion Pill Reversal protocol. The <a href="https://adfmedialegalfiles.blob.core.windows.net/files/NIFLA-JamesComplaint.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">suit</a> asks for James to be barred from applying New York business law to target pro-life groups promoting the abortion pill reversal.
“New York is intentionally denying women the freedom to continue their pregnancies by censoring those who promote it. They are forcing women to follow through with an abortion—even if they don’t want to,” said Thomas Glessner, president and founder of the National Institute of Family and Life Advocates. “How does it even remotely make sense to trust women with their medical decisions if you are actively trying to hide scientifically-based information from them? It makes no sense, nor is it legal.”

A group of Christian pro-life pregnancy resource centers and organizations have filed a lawsuit against New York Attorney General <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/letitia-james" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Letitia James</a> after she threatened to sue them over allegations of false advertising. 
The coalition, represented by the Thomas More Society, filed the lawsuit against James on Tuesday, accusing her of violating the pro-life groups&#8217; First and Fourteenth Amendment rights as well as the New York state constitution. The suit comes after James sent a <a href="https://uploads-ssl.webflow.com/63d954d4e4ad424df7819d46/6630189e82604e77bd5451e0_Notice%20to%20CompassCare.pdf">letter</a> on April 22 to a dozen pro-life ministries accusing them of “repeated and persistent misleading statements and omissions” related to their support of the Abortion Pill Reversal protocol. 
“James’ salvos against Plaintiff’s are the latest development in her politically motivated campaign against pregnancy organizations in general,” the lawsuit from the pregnancy organization <a href="https://uploads-ssl.webflow.com/63d954d4e4ad424df7819d46/66316c6cc9866f5cee7cda47_E2024007242_HEARTBEAT_INTERNATIONA_v_HEARTBEAT_INTERNATIONA_COMPLAINT_2.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">says</a>. “This time, James targets Plaintiff’s protected speech and activities engaged in for the sole benefit of pregnant women who have ingested — whether voluntarily or via trick or force — mifepristone, the first pill of the two-pill chemical abortion regimen, but wish to continue their pregnancies.” 
The Abortion Pill Reversal protocol is a method <a href="https://lozierinstitute.org/abortion-pill-reversal-a-record-of-safety-and-efficacy/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">backed</a> by pro-life organizations where a woman can take a prescribed dose of bioidentical progesterone to potentially reverse the effects of mifepristone if she changes her mind at the last minute about going through with the abortion. 
“Defendant James has no business butting into the intimate medical decision of an expectant mother, in consultation with the medical professional of her choice, to carry her pregnancy to term and save her unborn baby from the disastrous effects of mifepristone while there is still time to undo the effects of that powerful chemical,” the lawsuit adds. 
One of the plaintiffs in the case, Heartbeat International, is an organization that helps facilitate access to the Abortion Pill Reversal protocol. 
“New York State laws protect abortionists and abortion on demand up until birth,” said Jor-El Godsey, the president of Heartbeat International. “Now they are targeting those who assist a woman in exercising her right to continue her own pregnancy. It is unconscionable to see the abortion industry and its paid-for politicians go so far as to insist she complete an abortion she no longer wants.”

The organizations are demanding that the court block James from initiating a lawsuit against them and that it declares that James’s notice to the pro-life group violated their rights. The case was filed in the Supreme Court of New York in Monroe County. 
“This is a political witch-hunt against small nonprofits that have selflessly served New York’s pregnant women and their children for over 50 years,” said Thomas More Society Executive Vice President Peter Breen. “Letitia James should be heralding these charities, not launching outrageously false claims against them under laws that don’t apply to their noncommercial speech.”
Pregnancy centers around the country have come under fire from Democrat lawmakers and pro-abortion activists after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.

If you were running the government of Scotland right now, you&#8217;d have no shortage of serious, potentially civilization-ending social problems to contend with. Chief among them would be that, before long, there might not be very many Scottish people left.
Since 2011, Scotland&#8217;s <a href="https://www.scotlandscensus.gov.uk/2022-results/scotland-s-census-2022-rounded-population-estimates/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">birth rate</a> has been well below replacement level, meaning far more people are dying than being born. There were more than 630,000 deaths, and only 580,000 or so births. And yet, despite those numbers, Scotland <a href="https://www.scotlandscensus.gov.uk/2022-results/scotland-s-census-2022-rounded-population-estimates/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">recorded</a> its largest population in history as recently as 2022.
How could that be? You can probably guess. 
Like many other nations all over the world, including the United States, Scotland is importing boatloads of poor foreigners to make up the difference. The result has been exactly what you&#8217;d expect. Scotland&#8217;s economy is now in a death spiral, with more than one million of its five-and-a-half million residents <a href="https://www.jrf.org.uk/poverty-in-scotland-2023" target="_blank" rel="noopener">living</a> in poverty and no clear solution to the problem. The number of people aged 65 and over is projected to grow by nearly 30% by 2045, while the number of children is projected to drop by roughly 20%. Unless something changes very soon, Scotland may be completely unrecognizable by the time its next census rolls around.
In political terms, this is what&#8217;s commonly called an &#8220;existential threat.&#8221; A serious country would enact policies to reverse this trend immediately, starting with turning away the so-called refugees and migrants that Scotland can&#8217;t tolerate, much less accommodate. But Scotland has decided on a very different course of action. Instead of, say, encouraging more Scottish citizens to have families, the government of Scotland has decided to suspend the right of freedom of speech. And they&#8217;ve suspended the freedom of speech with the express purpose of endorsing and protecting transgenderism — an ideology that&#8217;s antithetical to reproduction, and which openly calls for the sterilization and castration of children.
This is precisely the sort of thing that self-loathing societies do when they decide they don&#8217;t want to exist anymore. It&#8217;s the path Scotland is on and, as I&#8217;ll explain in a second, it&#8217;s exactly the same plan our leaders are following in this country.

The specific law I&#8217;m talking about is called the <a href="https://www.legislation.gov.uk/asp/2021/14/section/1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hate Crime and Public Order Act</a>, and Scotland formally enacted it on Monday. It <a href="https://www.legislation.gov.uk/asp/2021/14/section/4" target="_blank" rel="noopener">criminalizes</a> the act of , &#8220;behav[ing] in a manner that a reasonable person would consider to be threatening or abusive,&#8221; if in doing so, &#8220;the person intends to stir up hatred against a group of persons&#8221; based on one of the following characteristics: &#8220;age, disability, religion, sexual orientation, transgender identity, or variations in sex characteristics.&#8221;
Anyone found guilty under this law can be sentenced to prison for up to seven years. Let me restate that: If you say something that a &#8220;reasonable person&#8221; in Scotland considers abusive, then the government can throw you in prison for seven years.
There are sites springing up all over Scotland where you can report wrong-think if you notice it, including, for some reason, sex shops in Glasgow. Watch:

Of course it&#8217;s a woman with big glasses defending this transgender &#8220;hate crimes&#8221; legislation. She reassures us that &#8220;freedom of expression&#8221; is &#8220;really important,&#8221; except when it&#8217;s &#8220;abusive.&#8221; But who defines what&#8217;s abusive? The bill doesn&#8217;t say. I checked. The only limiting principle is that this legislation says it doesn&#8217;t outlaw &#8220;discussion or criticism,&#8221; whatever that means. But once discussion or criticism becomes &#8220;abusive,&#8221; according to &#8220;reasonable people,&#8221; then it&#8217;s a serious crime and you&#8217;ll spend the better part of a decade in prison.
The problem is that, by the bill&#8217;s own terms, the people determining what&#8217;s &#8220;reasonable&#8221; and what&#8217;s &#8220;hateful&#8221; are people who believe that biology isn&#8217;t real.
The whole bill is established with the express understanding that it&#8217;s &#8220;reasonable,&#8221; by default, to believe that anyone can change their gender in an instant. That is what the bill is saying is the reasonable position. It literally says that &#8220;transgender identity&#8221; is something the law needs to recognize and protect. And as we&#8217;ve seen, trans activists are willing to cry about &#8220;genocide&#8221; if you use a pronoun they don&#8217;t like. These are the “reasonable” people who get to set the boundaries of what&#8217;s &#8220;abusive&#8221; and what&#8217;s not.
In effect, what this means is that the truth has just been outlawed in Scotland.
Tell the truth about transgenderism, and you can go to prison for longer than a serial rapist. That&#8217;s not an exaggeration, by the way. Late last year, a man who <a href="https://news.sky.com/story/rapist-given-lighter-sentence-due-to-immaturity-at-time-of-assaults-13012994#:~:text=A%20teenage%20rapist%20has%20been,15%2Dyear%2Dold%20girl." target="_blank" rel="noopener">raped</a> three schoolgirls — ages 14 and 15 — in the Scottish town of Falkirk received a sentence of just six years in prison. If he had &#8220;misgendered&#8221; them instead, he&#8217;d have gotten a tougher sentence.
To be clear, this isn&#8217;t insanity, although that&#8217;s certainly what it looks like. It is, instead, a declaration of war by the government of Scotland against its own people. At every turn, they are working towards the destruction of future generations. And now they&#8217;re making it illegal to talk about it.
As a result, there is now a non-zero chance that bestselling children&#8217;s author J.K. Rowling could soon be arrested. When this law took effect, Rowling posted a lengthy <a href="https://x.com/jk_rowling/status/1774747068944265615?s=20" target="_blank" rel="noopener">thread</a> on social media, listing various men who identify as women in the UK — including men who have raped small children.
&#8220;Obviously, the people mentioned in the above tweets aren&#8217;t women at all, but men, every last one of them,&#8221; Rowling <a href="https://x.com/jk_rowling/status/1774749954629652873?s=20" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote.</a> She continued: &#8220;In passing the Scottish Hate Crime Act, Scottish lawmakers seem to have placed higher value on the feelings of men performing their idea of femaleness, however misogynistically or opportunistically, than on the rights and freedoms of actual women and girls. &#8230; It is impossible to accurately describe or tackle the reality of violence and sexual violence committed against women and girls, or address the current assault on women’s and girls’ rights, unless we are allowed to call a man a man. Freedom of speech and belief are at an end in Scotland if the accurate description of biological sex is deemed criminal. I&#8217;m currently out of the country, but if what I&#8217;ve written here qualifies as an offence under the terms of the new act, I look forward to being arrested when I return to the birthplace of the Scottish Enlightenment.&#8221;
Already, as you&#8217;ve probably guessed, many people in the UK are calling for Rowling&#8217;s arrest. A lawyer named Rajan Barot, for example, <a href="https://x.com/RajanBarot24/status/1774846191764652523?s=20">wrote</a> that Rowling had engaged in a &#8220;deliberate act of defiance,&#8221; and that the police &#8220;must mount a full investigation.&#8221; And by the letter of the law that was just enacted in Scotland, the police are obligated to do that. For offending the cult of transgenderism, J.K. Rowling could soon be imprisoned for up to seven years.
This is the new definition of blasphemy in the UK. Transgenderism is the new state religion. And just to underscore that point even further, this same law — this same Hate Crimes bill that bans anyone from criticizing transgenderism — also repeals the <a href="https://www.gov.scot/binaries/content/documents/govscot/publications/factsheet/2020/04/hate-crime-bill-what-it-will-do/documents/hate-crime-bill-information-note-blasphemy/hate-crime-bill-information-note-blasphemy/govscot%3Adocument/Hate%2BCrime%2BBill%2B-%2BInformation%2BNote%2BPdf%2B-%2BBlasphemy%2B-%2BRevised%2BAugust%2B2020.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">existing blasphemy law</a> on the books in Scotland. That had been in effect since the common law was created, but it&#8217;s gone now. Again, I&#8217;m not exaggerating for effect here.
This is literally a line from the same bill: &#8220;The common law offence of blasphemy is abolished.&#8221; And really, it makes sense. After all, you have to destroy the old religion to enact the new one. The Scottish government understands that as well as Mao did. They understand it as well as Joe Biden&#8217;s administration did on Easter Sunday.
But this is not a story about the internal affairs of Scotland. What&#8217;s happening in Scotland is not some kind of aberrant, overly extremist application of Leftist doctrine, rather, it&#8217;s the logical end result. When you value feelings over truth, and define untruth as truth, what follows next is inevitable.
Anyone who really believes that men can become women, and that affirming biological reality is tantamount to genocide, is eventually going to throw you in prison. That&#8217;s why they use terms like &#8220;genocide.&#8221; It&#8217;s not to accurately describe what you&#8217;re doing, it&#8217;s to justify destroying your life by force, through any means necessary.
You might be thinking to yourself — “Well, that can&#8217;t happen here, at least not to the extent it&#8217;s happening in a place like Scotland. After all, we have a much more robust Constitution here, and our First Amendment protects the freedom of speech from government interference. And surely, if the government explicitly said it was going to target people for their speech in this country, and then ruined them, then there&#8217;d be a major outcry over it.” If you thought that, however, you&#8217;d be wrong.
The attorney general of New York, Letitia James, is of course best known for her campaign to seize all of the assets of the leading presidential candidate. What she&#8217;s not so well known for is her campaign to target the website VDARE, explicitly because of its inconvenient and unpopular beliefs. This is a story that&#8217;s gotten very little attention in conservative media, but it&#8217;s every bit as scandalous as what Letitia James is doing to Donald Trump.
Shortly after she took office, as <a href="https://www.splcenter.org/hatewatch/2023/05/24/experts-vdares-real-estate-deals-may-cost-group-nonprofit-status" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> by the fringe Left-wing activist group Southern Poverty Law Center, Letitia James promised to target conservative and Right-wing organizations based on their speech: &#8220;In 2020, James said her office would take tougher legal action on organizations that engage in real-life discriminatory actions and online hate speech against protected classes.&#8221;
It&#8217;s an astonishing statement because there is no such thing as &#8220;online hate speech&#8221; in this country. We&#8217;re not Scotland, at least not yet. That&#8217;s the point of the First Amendment. But Letitia James just admitted, out in the open, that she was going to ignore the First Amendment, and go after people saying things online that she didn&#8217;t like. And that&#8217;s exactly what she&#8217;s done.
Over the weekend, VDARE <a href="https://vdare.com/articles/it-is-finished-nyag-letitia-james-crucifies-vdare-com" target="_blank" rel="noopener">explained</a> that the New York attorney general&#8217;s office has ruined them financially with a subpoena that requires them to, &#8220;review 40 gigabytes of emails, an enormous amount. .. And of course these [emails] could in fact reveal the names of those pseudonymous writers, as well as our donors, privileged communications with lawyers, etc.&#8221; In all, VDARE says the subpoena could cost more than $150,000 to comply with, and as a result, the website may not be around for very much longer.
All of this is happening without VDARE being accused of any criminal activity whatsoever. There&#8217;s apparently just a suspicion of a possible violation of New York&#8217;s nonprofit rules, relating to their purchase of a castle as a conference venue several years ago. (Which they needed to purchase, because hotels wouldn&#8217;t let them host conferences there). But the New York AG&#8217;s office isn&#8217;t being very specific about what the problem is, so we&#8217;re really speculating about the specifics.
And as VDARE&#8217;s Lydia Brimelow said in a recent interview, New York really doesn&#8217;t have anything to do with VDARE, so their whole fixation with the organization is a little strange. In fact, VDARE has been trying to leave the state behind for a while now. The castle property that&#8217;s at issue is in West Virginia. Watch:

So VDARE is being chased around by a vindictive attorney general for an out-of-state property they bought. I&#8217;m no expert on the facts of the case, but at a glance, what VDARE is apparently being investigated for is somewhat similar to what BLM has admitted to doing.
We know BLM spent a lot of money buying multiple lavish mansions — not just one conference venue. But BLM was never subjected to any kind of investigation. They never had the New York attorney general, or any other attorney general, bombard them with subpoenas. And we know why that is. It&#8217;s because BLM is on Letitia James&#8217; side. VDARE isn&#8217;t. VDARE likes to talk about things like crime statistics, and what happens in cities like Baltimore. So therefore, like Donald Trump, they need to be crushed. Every real-estate transaction they&#8217;ve ever engaged in needs to be carefully scrutinized until they&#8217;re broke.
Suddenly Scotland&#8217;s decision to suspend freedom of speech doesn&#8217;t seem so unthinkable here. If Letitia James can get away with targeting a Right-wing media outlet like this, while admitting it, then we&#8217;re basically there already.
If anything, we could learn from what&#8217;s happening in Scotland. At least they have someone like J.K. Rowling who is willing to go to jail over what Scotland&#8217;s government is doing. Is there anyone in this country who&#8217;s even suggested sacrificing anything for a site like VDARE? Of course not. They have unfashionable views. So they won&#8217;t be around much longer. Inevitably, that means the people who decide what&#8217;s &#8220;unfashionable&#8221; will be coming for you, too.

Former President Donald Trump posted the $175 million bond in his New York civil business fraud case on Monday, one week after an appeals court allowed the leading presidential candidate to post a significantly lower bond.
A New York appeals court panel gave Trump a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-scores-legal-win-as-new-york-appeals-court-allows-him-to-post-lower-bond-in-civil-fraud-judgment" target="_blank" rel="noopener">legal victory</a> last week when it said the former president did not have to post the $464 million bond that was decided by Judge Arthur Engoron. Instead, Trump had 10 days to come up with the money for a reduced bond and said on Monday night that he had posted the $175 million amount, which prevents the state from seizing any of his assets as Trump&#8217;s legal team appeals Engoron&#8217;s judgment.
“I’ve just posted a 175 Million Dollar Bond with the sadly failing and very troubled State of New York, based on a Corrupt Judge and Attorney General who used a Statute that was never used for this before, where no Jury was allowed, my financial statements were conservative and had a 100% perfect caution/non-reliance clause, there were no victims (except me!), there was no crime or damage, there was only success and HAPPY BANKS,” Trump <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/112199420425708030" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a> on Truth Social.
Judge Engoron ruled in agreement with New York Attorney General James in February after James brought civil charges against Trump, alleging the former president inflated his net worth and misled investors. In his judgment, Engoron ordered Trump to pay $350 million, which increased to $464 million, including interest, and also ordered Trump’s co-defendants to pay $10 million.
Prior to last week’s appeals court decision, Trump would’ve had to pledge 120%, or around $550 million, in collateral to a bond company, an amount his lawyers said last week would be “a practical impossibility” to attain. Shortly after the appeals court reduced the bond, however, Trump said he would post the amount in “cash.”

The bond posted by the former president acts as a guarantee of payment if Judge Enoron&#8217;s judgment is upheld. If Trump ultimately loses his appeal, he will still have to pay the full amount of Engoron&#8217;s judgment, which grows in interest every day, Fox News <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/trump-posts-175m-bond-ny-civil-fraud-case-averts-asset-seizure" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.

Trump raged against Engoron and James in his post on Monday night, calling the case brought against him “election interference” and a “witch hunt.”
“The case was a fabricated ELECTION INTERFERENCE con job, so bad for New York, where businesses are fleeing &amp; violent crime is flourishing,” said Trump. “The Crooked Judge, to suit his narrative, valued Mar-a-Lago, in Palm Beach, Florida, at $18,000,000, when it is worth 50 to 100 times that amount. He ruled I was guilty before he ever saw the case. He should be disbarred, and Letitia James, who campaigned on getting TRUMP, Impeached. Also posted a 91 Million Dollar Bond on another New York Fake Case, money I can’t use on my campaign. Just what Crooked Joe wanted. WITCH HUNT!”

Trump Posts Bond In NY Civil Fraud Case, Preventing Seizure Of His Assets

After a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-scores-legal-win-as-new-york-appeals-court-allows-him-to-post-lower-bond-in-civil-fraud-judgment" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ruling from a New York Appeals Court</a> on Monday allowing him to post a significantly lower bond in his civil business fraud judgment, former President Donald Trump said he would soon post the now-$175 million bond.
Instead of posting a bond of $464 million, the appeals court ruled that Trump must now guarantee $175 million, ABC News correspondent Aaron Katersky <a href="https://twitter.com/AaronKatersky/status/1772280816539779235">reported</a>. The appeals court ruling also means that Trump can continue to run his business in New York and gives him an additional 10 days to post the reduced bond, according to <a href="https://www.cnn.com/politics/live-news/trump-hush-money-bond-deadline-trials-03-25-24/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CNN</a>.

This is a confrontation between a Judge and those that rule above him &#8211; A very bad situation in which to place New York State and the Rule of Law!&#8221; the former president wrote. &#8220;Engoron has disrespected the Appellate Division and its very clear and precise ruling. He should be made to do so, and at the same time, release the GAG ORDER. This is the 5th time in this case that he has been overturned, a record. His credibility, and that of Letitia James, has been shattered.&#8221;
The appeals court decision came hours after the deadline for Trump to post the bond hit on Monday, meaning James could seek to collect on the former president and seize his assets. The court’s decision will likely prevent James from pursuing the seizure of Trump’s property for now.
In a statement, a spokesman for James said Trump would still be held accountable.

Donald Trump secured a victory in a New York appeals court on Monday as the court will allow the former president to post a significantly lower bond in his civil business fraud judgment.
Instead of posting a bond of $464 million, the appeals court ruled that Trump must now guarantee $175 million, ABC News correspondent Aaron Katersky <a href="https://twitter.com/AaronKatersky/status/1772280816539779235">reported</a>. The appeals court ruling also means that Trump can continue to run his business in New York and gives him an additional 10 days to post the $175 million bond, according to <a href="https://www.cnn.com/politics/live-news/trump-hush-money-bond-deadline-trials-03-25-24/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CNN</a>.
The ruling comes hours after the deadline for Trump to post the bond hit on Monday, meaning New York Attorney General Letitia James could seek to collect on the former president and seize his assets. The court&#8217;s decision will likely prevent James from pursuing the seizure of Trump&#8217;s property for now.
Prior to Monday&#8217;s appeals court decision, Trump would&#8217;ve had pledge 120%, or around $550 million, in collateral to a bond company, an amount his lawyers said last week would be &#8220;a practical impossibility&#8221; to attain. While Trump boasts a net worth in the billions, much of his wealth is in real estate, which bond companies usually avoid taking as collateral, according to <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/03/25/nyregion/trump-bond-deadline-assets.html#:~:text=Trump's%20Options%20Dwindle%20as%20%24454,seize%20his%20accounts%20and%20properties." target="_blank" rel="noopener">The New York Times</a>.
Judge Arthur Engoron ruled in agreement with James last month after the attorney general brought civil charges against Trump, alleging the former president inflated his net worth and misled investors. In his judgment, Engoron ordered Trump to pay $350 million, which increased to $464 million, including interest, and also ordered Trump’s co-defendants to pay $10 million.
Last week, Trump posted on Truth Social, saying that “through hard work, talent, and luck,” he had nearly $500 million cash on hand and “intended to use” the money for his 2024 presidential campaign.

“THE NUMBER ENGORON SET IS FRAUDULENT. It should be ZERO, I DID NOTHING WRONG!” the former president added. “The D.A. Case, that I am going to today, should be dismissed. No crime. Our Country is CORRUPT!”

Former President Donald Trump&#8217;s legal battles are piling up on Monday, with the former president appearing in court for the hush money case involving porn actress Stormy Daniels on the same day as the bond deadline in his $454 million New York civil business fraud judgment.
Trump is expected to appear in a Manhattan courtroom on Monday and request another delay in the case against him, where he is charged with falsifying business records while covering up an alleged affair with Daniels, The New York Times <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/03/25/nyregion/trump-hush-money-trial-manhattan.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. In March, the judge overseeing the hush money case — which would’ve begun on Monday — <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/judge-delays-trumps-hush-money-case-heres-where-the-former-presidents-4-criminal-trials-now-stand" target="_blank" rel="noopener">moved the trial start date</a> to April 15 after Trump&#8217;s attorneys argued that they needed more time to review a new dump of 100,000 pages of material that could be used as evidence in the case.
The hush money case, brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and widely viewed as the weakest case against the former president, was the first in a slew of criminal charges against Trump and made Trump the first ex-president to be charged with a crime. The former president pleaded not guilty last year to all 34 charges of falsifying business records leveled against him by Bragg.
Meanwhile, if Trump and his legal team are going to stop New York Attorney General Letitia James from potentially seizing Trump&#8217;s assets, they must also post bond Monday in the New York civil business fraud judgment leveled against him by Judge Arthur Engoron.
