Country star Jelly Roll told Trump-supporting fans to stop listening to his music after they objected to a series of crude jokes he made about the president while guest-hosting &#8220;Jimmy Kimmel Live!&#8221;
The singer, whose legal name is Jason DeFord, recently lost a significant amount of weight, which is especially frustrating for fans, since many of his criticisms of Trump focused on his appearance at the Freedom 250 Grand Prix, an IndyCar race held on the streets of Washington, D.C. 
“The cars drove through the streets of D.C., and there’s Donald Trump, who apparently has never held a flag before,” the singer said. “What a sh*t job. How do you f*ck up waving a flag?”
“But the president seemed to enjoy the IndyCar race, which was a real switch up for him, because normally he only likes his own race,” DeFord added.
The “Need a Favor” singer went on to make personal digs about Trump’s weight, saying the president had gained 14 pounds and was &#8220;tipping the scales at almost 240.&#8221;
“It’s crazy. Think about this, y’all. In the last few years, I’ve lost 300 pounds,&#8221; he said. &#8220;That means I’ve lost an entire Donald Trump.&#8221;
“And let’s be honest, based on his approval ratings, it seems like most of the country wants to do the same thing,” DeFord went on.
The three-time Grammy winner sarcastically suggested that people should not mock Trump&#8217;s weight because the president &#8220;would never do that to other people.” The program then played a montage of Trump criticizing other people&#8217;s appearances. 
“Well, if that ain’t the pot calling the kettle fat,” Jelly Roll said. “Mr. President, from one fat pig to another, take it from me that physical fitness is very important. And trust me, you’ll be happy to see your p*nis again.”
The monologue surprised some of Jelly Roll&#8217;s fans, including Trump supporters who threatened to stop listening to his music. Former CBS News correspondent Lara Logan accused the singer of using Christianity to &#8220;make money&#8221; and said she was deleting his songs from her collection.

While guest-hosting the show again Tuesday, Jelly Roll addressed the backlash without apologizing. He <a href="https://ew.com/jelly-roll-defends-trump-jokes-after-backlash-12068807">said</a> the reaction was &#8220;the weirdest thing I&#8217;ve ever done to stun people,&#8221; given that he is a former felon and drug dealer who has tattoos covering his face.
He said some people were upset because he “didn’t treat the president with reverence and dignity.”
“But I want to remind y’all that I go by the name Jelly Roll,” he said. “I don’t even treat myself with reverence and dignity.”
He added that he thinks that “most people were just surprised that I had any opinions at all.”
“They see a guy that looks like me and assume the only opinion I have is whether I prefer my meth crystal or classic,” DeFord joked.
Jelly Roll defended the monologue as part of his temporary job hosting a late-night comedy program.
&#8220;Any U.S. president should be able to handle a few jokes, right?&#8221; he said. &#8220;They should also be able to handle gas prices, health care, and the occasional international conflict, but beggars can&#8217;t be choosers.&#8221;

The singer then addressed fans who had threatened to boycott his music.

&#8220;I can&#8217;t believe, out of all the jokes I&#8217;ve told the past few nights, the one that really seemed to make people mad was when I said [Trump] was overweight,&#8221; Jelly Roll said. &#8220;I thought fat-on-fat crime was okay.&#8221;
Jelly Roll previously <a href="https://people.com/jelly-roll-responds-criticism-after-meeting-donald-trump-8763592">described himself</a> as apolitical after facing criticism for meeting Trump at UFC 309 at Madison Square Garden in 2024.
“Dude, there’s not a chance in hell that I’m not going to meet the president-elect. I don’t care,” Jelly Roll said later. “If I got a call to meet Joe Biden, I would have stopped at any point and [met] him.”
“Meeting President Trump was cool. Ultimately, I don’t really care [about] any blowback I get about it,” he added.

In an astonishing prime-time moment, Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed left viewers stunned Monday night after attempting to equate routine, health-promoting male circumcision with irreversible gender surgeries for minors.

Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed compared Sharia Law to Canon Law when he was pressed by Fox News host Jesse Watters on Monday night on a past eyebrow-raising statement about America&#8217;s opposition to Sharia.
During an interview on &#8220;Jesse Watters Primetime,&#8221; El-Sayed, a Muslim, was confronted with a statement he made in 2022 when he argued that white supremacist forces are behind the effort to prevent Sharia Law from being implemented in America.
&#8220;So getting rid of Sharia Law is white supremacy? Can you explain that one?&#8221; Watters asked.
El-Sayed replied with his own question, &#8220;Do you know what Canon Law is, Jesse? I assume you&#8217;re a Christian, right? So Canon Law is the name for Christian law. I don&#8217;t begrudge you and your right to practice your faith as you choose. I don&#8217;t know why the idea that I could practice my faith that I choose is a problem.&#8221;
&#8220;Nobody is trying to push Sharia Law on anyone else. Just like I hope nobody is trying to push Canon Law on anybody else because we live in an America where you should have the freedom of religion,&#8221; El-Sayed added.
El-Sayed&#8217;s comparison doesn&#8217;t quite match up. Canon Law is the Christian system of rules and practices set up for leaders and members within a specific church. Sharia Law, meanwhile, encompasses rituals practiced within the Muslim faith while also setting up rules for legal systems and public practices.
Extremist Muslim nations, including Iran and Afghanistan, are completely under Sharia Law for their governmental systems. The implementation of Sharia Law in these Middle East countries has led to numerous human rights violations and extreme punishments for so-called lawbreakers, which typically target and oppress women, Christians, and people who identify as LGBT.
In many Muslim-majority nations around the world, Sharia Law is incorporated into public life and used as the basis in civil law — such as for marriage and divorce — while the government adheres to more Western principles.
During his interview with Watters, El-Sayed slammed efforts to ban Sharia Law from being implemented in U.S. legal systems, calling out one bill proposed by Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL). El-Sayed said that such efforts are &#8220;deliberately targeting the Muslim community because they&#8217;re different,&#8221; adding, &#8220;As if somehow Muslims are out here trying to push Sharia Law.&#8221;
&#8220;I would never want someone to push their faith on me, and I would never push my faith on somebody else,&#8221; he added. &#8220;When people preemptively go out there and start preemptively passing laws to ban something that&#8217;s not happening, what you&#8217;re trying to do is target a very small community because they&#8217;re different.&#8221;
Watters shot back, saying, &#8220;Sharia Law in Michigan is kind of scary. People don&#8217;t go for that. You know, it&#8217;s like men and women [aren&#8217;t equal], it&#8217;s like physical punishments. People don&#8217;t like that in Michigan. I&#8217;m just saying I don&#8217;t think that&#8217;s a good position.&#8221;
&#8220;Nobody is pushing it,&#8221; El-Sayed said. &#8220;You know what the issue is in Michigan. The issue that people are worried about is not that someone is going to come and put Sharia Law on them. The issue in Michigan is people are worried about how they&#8217;re going to afford their gas. The issue in Michigan is how am I going to see a doctor when I get sick? How am I going to keep my job?&#8221;
In a 2009 interview with The New York Times, El-Sayed said that he had <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/abdul-el-sayed-dedicated-his-life-to-sharia-law">dedicated</a> his life to Sharia Law. In the interview, he was asked about buying his first home, and he said that he had chosen a Sharia-compliant mortgage that avoided interest, which Islamic law prohibits.
“Ultimately, the question is, when I die and I stand before God and go through everything I did in my life, I don’t want to say I did it the easy way instead of the Shariah-compliant way. Not because of fear but because of obligation,&#8221; he said.

Vice President JD Vance said Monday that the U.S. military has “much greater capacity” to destroy Iran&#8217;s nuclear program if necessary. 
Speaking with Fox News host Jesse Watters, Vance said that President Donald Trump would take every necessary action to ensure that Iran could not get a nuclear weapon. He said that the operation launched in June 2025 to take out multiple Iranian nuclear facilities damaged its ability to build nuclear weapons in the short term, but that the president wanted to block Iran&#8217;s capability for the long term. 
“We have a lot of capacity here,” Vance said. “Obviously, I&#8217;m not going to reveal classified information here on air, but the President of the United States knows what we&#8217;re able to do. He knows that we have much greater capacity to inflict damage on the Iranian nuclear program.”
“So I think the president has made it very clear that the United States has a lot of optionality here,” Vance added. 
Trump has estimated the operation could last four to five weeks, but has said it could continue longer to permanently eliminate Iran’s capacity to have a nuclear weapon. 
“We could go for a little bit longer, we could go for a lot longer, but I think the president just wants to make it clear to the Iranians and to the world that he is not going to rest until he accomplishes that all-important objective of ensuring that Iran can&#8217;t have a nuclear weapon,” he said. 
Vance, a former Marine who fought in Iraq, has been critical of previous American interventions in the Middle East. Watters asked whether the conflict with Iran could turn into another Iraq or Afghanistan. 
“There&#8217;s just no way that Donald Trump is gonna allow this country to get into a multi-year conflict with no clear end in sight and no clear objective.  What is different about President Trump, and it&#8217;s frankly different about both Republicans and Democrats of the past, is that he&#8217;s not going to let this country go to war unless there&#8217;s a clearly defined objective,” Vance said. “He&#8217;s defined that objective as Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon and has to commit long-term to never trying to rebuild the nuclear capability.”

Erika Kirk made several revelations during an as-yet-unaired interview with Fox News host Jesse Watters, as the previews have shown.
The widow of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated during a campus event in November, said she would like to have cameras in the courtroom during the murder trial of accused killer Tyler Robinson.
“There were cameras all over my husband when he was murdered,” Kirk told Watters in the promo clip. “There have been cameras all over my friends and family mourning. There have been cameras all over me, analyzing my every move, analyzing my every smile, my every tear.”

Robinson was charged with aggravated murder and six other counts after turning himself in to police after the shooting. Prosecutors will be seeking the death penalty in this case.
“Let everyone see what true evil is,” Kirk told Watters. “This is something that could impact a generation and generations to come.”
During the same interview, the new head of Turning Point USA also said that the broadcasting company Sinclair had reached out to her asking if she’d like an apology from late night host Jimmy Kimmel after he made comments indicating that Tyler may be associated with “MAGA.” Kimmel’s show was suspended for a few days after, leading to national outcry from liberals.
“Jimmy Kimmel lied about your husband’s murder and didn’t really apologize, what would you say to Jimmy Kimmel?” Watters asked Kirk.
“Same thing I told Sinclair,” Kirk responded. “They asked, I haven’t really told anybody this, so they asked, ‘do you want Jimmy to give you an apology? Do you want to be on a show? How can we make it right?’ Through our team, I responded, I said, tell them thank you, we received their note.”
“This is not our issue, not our mess,” she added. “If you want to say I’m sorry to someone who’s grieving, go right ahead. But if that’s not in your heart, don’t do it. I don’t want it. I don’t need it.”
The interview will air in full tomorrow night on &#8220;Jesse Watters Primetime&#8221; at 8 PM/ET.

Murphy responded to the Fox News host in an X post, conceding that his assessment was correct and arguing that Democrats needed to find a way to break out of their old habits if they wanted to win.
&#8220;This is true. And until the left builds an infrastructure to confront this reality — and stops acting like political communication is still just buying millions of TV and digital ads every two years — we are cooked,&#8221; he said.

Former President Donald Trump said during an interview this week that airstrikes against Mexican drug cartels are &#8220;absolutely&#8221; on the table if Mexico does not rapidly put an end to the fentanyl pouring into the U.S.
Trump made the remarks during an interview with Fox News host Jesse Watters broadcast on Tuesday after being asked if he would still follow through on the idea pushed by Republicans during the presidential primaries.
&#8220;Absolutely,&#8221; Trump said. &#8220;Mexico is going to have to straighten it out really fast or the answer is, absolutely. They&#8217;re killing 300,000 people a year with fentanyl coming in.&#8221;
The former president highlighted China&#8217;s role in the fentanyl epidemic, saying that all of the precursors to make the drug come to Mexico directly from Chinese manufacturers.
&#8220;And China, by the way, will do what they have to do,&#8221; he said. &#8220;They&#8217;re gonna do it just like I had to deal with President Xi. But then Biden never took it over, that we&#8217;re gonna give the death penalty to anybody sending fentanyl our way. And that was part of my negotiation. They never did it because nobody forced it on our side.&#8221;
&#8220;Death penalty for drug dealers, death penalty for people that send fentanyl into our country,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;And that would have made a big difference. But you know what happened? Nothing because when Biden came in, nothing happened. And I don&#8217;t know why he&#8217;s so soft on China, but boy is soft on China.&#8221;
He added that Mexico will be given &#8220;a very short period of time&#8221; to control the situation, or they will face consequences from the U.S.

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump revealed more details about his phone call with President Joe Biden after the attempt on Trump&#8217;s life during a campaign rally in Butler County, Pennsylvania, earlier this month.
Trump and his running mate, Sen. JD Vance (R-OH), sat down with <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/video/6358900508112" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fox News</a> host Jesse Watters for an <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/secret-service-director-resigns-amid-uproar-over-trump-assassination-attempt?topStoryPosition=1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">interview</a> that aired on Monday, and Trump told Watters that he had a &#8220;nice conversation&#8221; with the 81-year-old president after the shooting.
“He said, ‘You’re lucky you turned to the right,’” Trump said of his chat with Biden.

&#8220;I told him he was literally in the prayers of Jill and me, and his whole family was weathering this,&#8221; the president added.
Trump was shot in the right ear after he slightly turned his head to look at a chart on illegal immigration statistics. Analysis of the shooting and the path of the bullet has shown if Trump had not moved his head at that moment, the bullet would have likely hit his brain.
The 20-year-old shooter gained access to a roof fewer than 150 yards away from the stage at Trump&#8217;s Pennsylvania rally on July 13 and was spotted by Secret Service snipers 20 minutes before he fired upon the former president, according to law enforcement officials. While Trump expressed his gratitude to the Secret Service agents who rushed to his aid on the stage after he went down, he questioned how the gunman successfully got multiple shots off at such a close distance.
In a <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/112836289155893843" target="_blank" rel="noopener">post</a> on Truth Social on Tuesday morning, Trump blasted the White House over the assassination attempt, writing, &#8220;The Biden/Harris Administration did not properly protect me, and I was forced to take a bullet for Democracy. IT WAS MY GREAT HONOR TO DO SO!&#8221;
Trump also told the Fox News host that Secret Service agents wanted to put him on a stretcher after he had been shot, but he told them that he was fine to stand up and walk on his own.
“They had a stretcher, and they wanted to put me on a stretcher,&#8221; Trump <a href="https://www.wionews.com/world/after-trump-was-shot-he-argued-with-secret-service-agents-about-being-put-on-stretcher-743415" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>. &#8220;And I said, ‘I’m not going on a stretcher.'&#8221;
“I said, ‘I’m telling you, I’m OK. I’m fine. I’m going to get up. I want to get up. I’m not going to be taken out on a stretcher,’” he added.
Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle was grilled by Congress on Monday over her agency&#8217;s failure to prevent the assassination attempt on Trump. During the hearing, Republicans and Democrats urged her to resign, and she <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/secret-service-director-resigns-amid-uproar-over-trump-assassination-attempt?topStoryPosition=1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> on Tuesday that she would step down from her position.
“Somebody should’ve made sure there was nobody on that roof. That roof was a dead aim right onto the stage,” Trump told Watters. “And they said they didn’t have the manpower for it, which is crazy. A hundred thirty yards is like sinking a one-foot putt. It’s considered really close.”
“You have to answer: why couldn’t I have stayed off the stage for five minutes while they do their work?&#8221; he added. &#8220;Why couldn’t, you know, how does a situation happen where a roof that’s plainly in sight from the location where I was speaking … why would somebody not have seen that?”

Former President Donald Trump spoke more about the assassination attempt and the security lapses that led to the shooting, <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/trump-reveals-he-spoke-secret-service-director-cheatle-wants-know-how-would-be-assassin-got-roof" target="_blank" rel="noopener">telling</a> Fox News&#8217;s Jesse Watters in an interview that aired Monday night that it&#8217;s &#8220;crazy&#8221; that the Secret Service didn&#8217;t have more manpower at his Pennsylvania campaign rally.
Trump survived the July 13 shooting after a bullet hit his right ear, while three other people were struck by more gunfire, including firefighter Corey Comperatore, who was killed. Trump also told the Fox News host that Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, who <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/secret-service-director-resigns-amid-uproar-over-trump-assassination-attempt">resigned on Tuesday morning</a>, came to see him after the assassination attempt. The former president said his meeting with Cheatle &#8220;went very nicely,&#8221; adding that he believes she was given &#8220;false information&#8221; about the slope of the roof the shooter was perched on. Cheatle said last week that the roof&#8217;s slope presented a safety risk.
&#8220;I noticed that she [Cheatle] said, well, this is a slope[d] roof where you think of like a barn where you have, this thing had just a little &#8212; a little upswing in it, a few degrees. This was a not &#8212; it essentially was a flat roof,&#8221; Trump said.
Cheatle was questioned during a Congressional hearing on Monday and was urged by Republicans and Democrats to resign after she dodged answering numerous questions on how the would-be assassin was able to fire multiple shots at the former president.

Jurors convicted Hunter Biden, 54, on charges of lying to a federally licensed firearms dealer, making a false claim on a federal firearms background check form, and being in possession of an illegally obtained firearm. Hunter Biden faces up to 25 years in prison and up to $750,000 in fines.
&#8220;There&#8217;s no contrition at all by the Biden family. Hunter didn&#8217;t show any remorse, he was smiling afterwards,&#8221; Watters began. &#8220;His father&#8217;s not ashamed, wouldn&#8217;t even gently condemn his son&#8217;s actions. Hunter&#8217;s committed more crimes than we can count and all Biden says is he&#8217;s &#8216;proud.&#8217; The reason Hunter&#8217;s broken the law for 30 years and not paid the Piper is because of his dad. If every time I screwed up, and my dad&#8217;s response was, &#8216;I&#8217;m proud, son, I love you,&#8217; I&#8217;d keep screwing up. Bailing somebody out over and over again doesn&#8217;t mean you love them.&#8221;
&#8220;Hunter was kicked out of the Navy for cocaine on an administrative discharge instead of a dishonorable one because his dad greased the brass,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;Hunter got caught with cocaine at the Jersey Shore way back in the 80s, and the senator&#8217;s son had his record expunged. When he left his crack pipe in a rental car, police investigated and dropped the charges. When he put 20 grand on his dad&#8217;s and American Express for Russian escorts, the Secret Service cleaned it up. When he lost his laptop, the FBI and CIA covered it up. When he owed millions in back taxes, his sugar brother footed the bill. When he needed money for alimony and child support, daddy&#8217;s donors bought his dopey art. His dad&#8217;s own Justice Department tried to make the gun and tax case go away a year ago today. What makes you think Daddy won&#8217;t save him again?&#8221;

Peterson</a> said that he will move to broadcast publicly the social media training he was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/jordan-peterson-unloads-on-canadian-court-after-it-backs-psychologist-org-attempting-to-censor-him" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ordered to undergo</a> by a ​​psychologist governing body that targeted Peterson for criticizing transgender ideology, climate alarmism, and the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/canada" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Canadian</a> government. 
Peterson <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/jordan-peterson-plans-broadcast-court-ordered-social-media-training-public-decide-themselves" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> Fox News host Jesse Watters on Thursday that he hoped to film or audio record all sessions of the court-upheld social media training. Last week, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/jordan-peterson-unloads-on-canadian-court-after-it-backs-psychologist-org-attempting-to-censor-him" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ruled that</a> the College of Psychologists of Ontario could mandate Peterson to go through a so-called “specified continuing education or remedial program.” 
&#8220;I&#8217;m going to do everything I can to make all of this as public as I possibly can,&#8221; he told Watters. &#8220;I have done that from the beginning. I released all the documents that included the charges, so to speak, that the college has levied against me. I want to make this 100% transparent and let the public decide for themselves who exactly is acting, let’s say, in an unprofessional capacity.&#8221;
&#8220;My plan is to make everything that&#8217;s done to me public and if I can do that by filming, well, then, I&#8217;ll do that,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;Everything that happens is going to be made public. It is absolutely necessary.&#8221;
The College of Psychologists is not punishing Peterson for any interactions with patients; rather it is censuring, fining, and attempting to “reeducate” him for public comments he made, including on social media and during podcast appearances. 
Some of Peterson’s supposed offenses, according to the College of Psychologists, included retweeting Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre’s criticism of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, criticizing a former senior Trudeau aide, and expressing opposition to the idea of the Ottawa police taking custody of the children of Trucker Convoy protesters.
Other supposed offenses do not involve direct criticism of the Canadian government, such as Peterson saying on Joe Rogan’s podcast that accepting radical gender theory is a sign of “civilizations collapsing,” calling climate change models unreliable, and criticizing Sports Illustrated for putting a plus-sized swimsuit model on the cover.

Peterson told Watters that he wouldn’t back down from speaking out, especially on the negative impact the transgender movement had on young people. 
&#8220;I’m perfectly willing to state that I am stating my opinions on Twitter and social media in my professional capacity,&#8221; Peterson said. &#8220;So, for example, the comments I made about Ellen Page, you know, I’m not the least bit happy about what the sadistic surgeon butchers are doing to minors, and I’m also not very happy about narcissistic, let’s say, celebrities parading off their new, surgically enhanced body and enticing young women, for example, into becoming sterilized and butchered, so I think I have a professional obligation like all therapists and all physicians to say very clearly that this is 100% absolutely not acceptable.&#8221;

Fox News announced on Monday that host Jesse Watters would take over the 8 p.m. timeslot that was vacated after host Tucker Carlson was ousted from the company in late April.
The new primetime schedule will feature Laura Ingraham at 7 p.m., Sean Hannity at 9 p.m., Greg Gutfeld at 10 p.m. and Trace Gallagher hosting the news hour at 11 p.m.

A source informed The Daily Wire that Carlson&#8217;s staff was unaware that he would be ousted and only were apprised of the news when Carlson sent an email. Carlson’s ouster followed Fox News settling a lawsuit with Dominion Voting Systems for almost $800 million; Carlson was expected to testify if the lawsuit had gone forward.
In the immediate aftermath of Carlson’s departure, the stock of Fox Corporation, the parent company of Fox News Channel, plummeted $1 billion.
In the first quarter of 2023, &#8220;Tucker Carlson Tonight&#8221; ranked as the highest-rated program in cable news in the younger 25-54 demo, averaging 3.2 million viewers, 443,000 in the demo and 299,000 in the 18-49 category. In that same period, Fox News “The Five” averaged 3,058,000 viewers, “Jesse Watters Primetime” averaged 2,670,000 viewers, “Hannity” drew 2,505,000, and “Special Report with Bret Baier” drew 2,200,000.
Watters joined Fox News in 2002, where he worked as a correspondent for “The O’Reilly Factor” doing man-on-the-street interviews. In 2017, he became the host of “Watters’ World” on Saturday nights and was also chosen as co-host of “The Five.” “The Five” is now Fox News’ <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/fox-news-names-jesse-watters-to-replace-tucker-carlson-as-anchor-of-8-p-m-hour-75a72fce">highest-rated program</a>.
