Renee Good had apparent gunshot wounds to her chest, forearm, and possibly head, according to documents released by the Minneapolis Fire Department on Thursday.
The fire department sent documents to media outlets, which stated that first responders &#8220;found two apparent gunshot wounds to the patient&#8217;s right chest [and] one apparent gunshot wound to the patient&#8217;s left forearm,&#8221; ABC News <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/US/live-updates/minneapolis-ice-shooting-live-updates/?id=129124338">reported</a>. The documents also stated that it&#8217;s possible she was struck on the left side of her head.
Good, 37, was shot and killed by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent in Minneapolis last week after she drove her SUV toward the agent during a confrontation with federal law enforcement. Video shows Good&#8217;s Honda Pilot striking ICE agent, Jonathan Ross, and three shots are heard before Good&#8217;s vehicle careens down the street and crashes into a parked car.
Minneapolis officials said that after the shooting, first responders removed Good from her vehicle and moved her down the street &#8220;for a more workable scene, better access for ambulances, and separation from an escalating scene involving law enforcement and bystanders.&#8221; When first responders arrived, Good was “unresponsive, not breathing, with inconsistent, irregular, thready pulse activity,” according to the fire department&#8217;s report. She was transported to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Good, who was actively involved in monitoring ICE&#8217;s actions in the city, was in the area of the ICE operation on January 7 as anti-ICE demonstrators followed the federal agents, with some people filming them. Good parked her car in the middle of the road as agents moved down the street in a convoy of vehicles. When one agent attempted to open her car door, Good put the car in reverse and then drove forward while another agent was standing in front of the vehicle. That agent then shot and killed Good.
The shooting death sparked more than a week of protests in Minneapolis, which remain ongoing, as the city&#8217;s leaders condemn ICE and accuse President Donald Trump of &#8220;creating chaos&#8221; with his deployment of federal immigration agents. The Trump administration, meanwhile, has backed agent Ross and said that Good engaged in an act of &#8220;domestic terrorism.&#8221;
Despite his administration labeling Good a domestic terrorist, Trump <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-renee-good-minnesota-ice-solid-wonderful-person-actions-pretty-tough/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> CBS News earlier this week that &#8220;under normal circumstances,&#8221; Good was most likely a &#8220;very solid, wonderful person.&#8221; He added that her actions during the confrontation with ICE were &#8220;pretty tough.&#8221;
&#8220;When you look at that tape, it can be viewed two ways I guess, but when you look at the way that car pulled away — there are a couple versions of that tape that are very, very bad,&#8221; Trump said.
In the interview with CBS News, the president defended ICE&#8217;s actions and <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&amp;v=7cpooMjsboE">said</a> that federal immigration agents are &#8220;working very hard&#8221; to detain illegal immigrants, but &#8220;their job is being made very, very difficult.&#8221;

President Donald Trump praised a &#8220;highly respected Minnesota judge&#8221; on Thursday after she declined to issue a restraining order against Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations in the Democrat-run state.
On Wednesday, Kate Menendez, a Biden-appointed U.S. District Court judge, rejected Minnesota&#8217;s request to temporarily block ICE from continuing immigration enforcement operations in the state as Minnesota&#8217;s lawsuit against the Trump administration&#8217;s immigration enforcement moves forward.
&#8220;A highly respected judge declined to block I.C.E. operations in the very politically corrupt State of Minnesota. I.C.E. will therefore be allowed to continue its highly successful operation of removing some of the most violent and vicious criminals anywhere in the World, many of them murderers, from the State,&#8221; Trump said. &#8220;The great patriots of Law Enforcement will continue to make our Country safe. RECORD LOW CRIME NUMBERS!!!&#8221;
Menendez said her decision did not indicate how she would ultimately rule on Minnesota&#8217;s lawsuit against the federal government, CBS News <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/minnesota/news/judge-restraining-order-tro-minnesota-ice-operations/">reported</a>.
&#8220;I think the issues are really important and I don&#8217;t want to suggest by not acting immediately one way or the other that I think they are unimportant,&#8221; Menendez said. &#8220;To the contrary, I understand this is important to everybody.&#8221;
Minnesota argued that a two-week restraining order was needed to give the state time to prepare for the case, arguing that the 3,000 federal agents in Minneapolis and the surrounding areas are violating citizens&#8217; rights.
The federal government must respond to Minnesota&#8217;s lawsuit by January 19, and Judge Menendez denied a federal prosecutor&#8217;s request to postpone the date due to the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. Menendez said the case was too urgent to delay.
Leftist Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison announced on Monday that the state filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration in an effort to stop its surge of federal agents into the state. Ellison described Trump&#8217;s immigration operation in Minnesota as an &#8220;invasion.&#8221; The lawsuit was filed just days after Minneapolis resident Renee Good was shot and killed by an ICE agent after she drove her vehicle toward him during a confrontation. The shooting death has sparked massive protests, which have continued for more than a week, and the Trump administration has deployed more federal agents to the city.
Another ICE shooting on Wednesday night sparked more outrage in Minneapolis. A federal agent was ambushed and attacked by three people while attempting to detain a suspected Venezuelan illegal immigrant in the city&#8217;s Northside, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

President Donald Trump said on Thursday that he could invoke the Insurrection Act in Minnesota to stop &#8220;professional agitators and insurrectionists&#8221; from attacking federal immigration agents.
Trump said the Insurrection Act, which would allow him to deploy the military and federalize the National Guard, would quickly &#8220;put an end to the travesty that is taking place in that once great State.&#8221; The president has threatened to use the act in the past, but his comments on Thursday morning mark the first time he has said the move is a possibility following the fatal shooting of Renee Good by an ICE agent, which sparked massive protests in Minneapolis.

Trump&#8217;s threat comes just hours after the Department of Homeland Security <a href="https://x.com/DHSgov/status/2011632198000976086">said</a> a federal agent shot an illegal immigrant on Wednesday night. According to DHS, a federal agent was ambushed and attacked by three people while attempting to detain a suspected Venezuelan illegal immigrant. The suspects attacked the federal agent with a snow shovel and a broomstick, according to Homeland Security.
During the scuffle, the agent fired a defensive shot, which struck a subject&#8217;s leg, according to Homeland Security, which added that both the agent and the subject were transported to the hospital, and the two other alleged attackers were arrested.
Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O&#8217;Hara confirmed that a scuffle between a federal agent and another person took place. He did not confirm the federal government&#8217;s account that the officer was ambushed and attacked by multiple people. Protesters descended on the area near the shooting shortly after the incident and shouted at law enforcement. Some of the agitators threw fireworks at police officers, according to O&#8217;Hara.
Following the second ICE shooting in Minneapolis in a week, Minnesota Democratic Governor Tim Walz said he was &#8220;angry,&#8221; adding, &#8220;What Donald Trump wants is violence in the streets.&#8221; In a recorded address that was initially plagued by technical difficulties, Walz urged residents to &#8220;remain an island of decency, of justice, of community, and of peace&#8221; and told Minnesotans, &#8220;Don’t give [Trump] what he wants.&#8221;
Minneapolis Democratic Mayor Jacob Frey also addressed the ICE shooting on Wednesday night and said that ICE and Border Patrol agents are &#8220;creating chaos&#8221; in the Twin Cities area, and said that residents are asking the Minneapolis Police Department &#8220;to fight ICE agents on the street.&#8221;
&#8220;We cannot be at a place right now in America where we have two governmental entities that are literally fighting one another,&#8221; he added.

Trump has suggested numerous times that the anti-ICE demonstrations in Minneapolis are organized and carried out by &#8220;professionals.&#8221; In at least one protest last week, organizers with the AFL-CIO told demonstrators that they were &#8220;moving out&#8221; after they hit their &#8220;goal time,&#8221; The Daily Wire <a href="https://x.com/breccastoll/status/2009307731690172804">reported</a>.

Trump Threatens To Use Insurrection Act In Minnesota If ‘Professional Agitators’ Are Not Stopped

The State Department will freeze immigrant visa processing for the citizens of dozens of nations over welfare concerns.
The department announced on Wednesday that it will stop processing visas for 75 countries. The Trump administration plans to enact the pause because migrants from the countries in question “take welfare from the American people at unacceptable rates.”
“The freeze will remain active until the U.S. can ensure that new immigrants will not extract wealth from the American people,” the department <a href="https://x.com/StateDept/status/2011478657680757214">said</a>.
“The pause impacts dozens of countries – including Somalia, Haiti, Iran, and Eritrea – whose immigrants often become public charges on the United States upon arrival,” the statement continued. “We are working to ensure the generosity of the American people will no longer be abused.”
The freeze is scheduled to go into effect on January 21. The pause will not affect non-immigrant visas, nor temporary tourist or business visas, which allow people to come to the United States on a temporary basis.
The freeze comes after investigations and public reporting has raised the prospect that fraudsters in Minnesota, especially from the Somali community in the Twin Cities area, have bilked taxpayers for billions of dollars in social service funding.
The freeze is just the latest action taken by Secretary of State Marco Rubio to restrict the number of immigrants allowed into and residing in the United States. The Secretary has previously taken steps to <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/rubios-state-department-yanks-more-than-6k-student-visas-due-assault-burglary-support-terrorism">revoke</a> the visas of immigrants in the United States who have expressed support for terror groups or committed crimes.
The Trump administration has also <a href="https://time.com/7341347/travel-ban-immigration-countries/">restricted</a> the ability of residents of dozens of other countries to enter the United States. Last month, President Donald Trump signed an <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/12/restricting-and-limiting-the-entry-of-foreign-nationals-to-protect-the-security-of-the-united-states/">order</a> adding 20 additional countries to a list that included 19 others setting restrictions and limits on nationals’ ability to travel to the United States. The countries on the restricted list include some in Latin America, such as Venezuela and Cuba.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested a slew of illegal immigrants in Minneapolis Tuesday, including several convicted of sexual assault and drug trafficking.
The arrests were part of Operation Metro Surge, the Trump administration’s effort to arrest illegal aliens in the Twin Cities, which began in December. Among those arrested Tuesday were Teng Houa Vang, a Vietnamese national with a domestic assault conviction — as well as guilty pleas for terror threats and breaking a “protection order,” The Daily Wire has learned. He is also facing charges for “arson, peeping tom, obstructing police, trespassing, assault, drug possession, and property damage.”

“Another day another scourge of sexual predators, violent assailants, domestic abusers and drug traffickers arrested from the streets of Minnesota by our law enforcement,” Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement on Wednesday.
“We are in Minnesota to arrest the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens. Governor Walz and Mayor Frey refuse to let us into their jails and instead choose to release criminal illegal aliens back into Minnesota neighborhoods to victimize more Americans. Despite violence against them and a lack of cooperation from sanctuary politicians, our law enforcement will not stop their efforts to get criminals out of [the] country,” she continued.
Salvadoran national Francisco Salazar-Solorzano was arrested on DUI, domestic violence, and assault charges. Mexican national Victor Javier Bahena-Sandoval has previous arrests for domestic violence, in addition to past convictions for “disorderly conduct” and for coming back into the country illegally. Mexican national Santiago Antunes Mendiola faces charges for battery.
Spanish national Lorenzo Armillas Llaurado has a prior conviction for “felony distribution of a controlled substance.” Nigerian national Michael Opeoluwa Egbele has a prior conviction for impersonation fraud.

Operation Metro Surge has triggered protests and backlash from Democratic leaders, especially following the confrontation in which Renee Good was fatally shot by an ICE officer. She reportedly hit him with her vehicle in Minneapolis, as DHS says the agent involved suffered internal bleeding afterward.
“Get the f**k out of Minneapolis,” Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey said at a press conference last week following the Good incident.
“We do not want you here. Your stated reason for being in this city is to create some kind of safety, and you are doing exactly the opposite,” he continued, saying, “people are being hurt.”
The Daily Wire reached out to both Walz and the City of Minneapolis for comment, but they were not immediately available for a response. As of December 19, there have been 622,000 deportations since President Donald Trump took office, along with an estimated 1.9 million people who opted to self-deport, as the federal government is offering incentives to do so.

A new House proposal aims to crack down on abuses of the student visa system, including by imposing tougher penalties on administrators and institutions found responsible for visa fraud.
The “Student Visa Integrity Act,” introduced by Rep. Brandon Gill (R-TX), would tighten visa expiration dates and require in-person interviews for visa extensions for applicants from countries considered sponsors of terrorism or that are in programs otherwise deemed high national security risks.
Under the proposal, students from state sponsors of terrorism, nations with an overstay rate of 10% or higher, or institutions that do not use E-Verify would be limited to a maximum student visa term of two years.
“Studying in the United States is a privilege, not a right,” Gill told The Daily Wire. “Unfortunately, a system intended to spread the American dream has been abused by fraudsters and bad actors. My bill restores integrity to a system that has been exploited for decades by protecting national security, enforcing immigration law, and ensuring the student visa program serves America’s interests.”
Gill’s proposal would also require educational institutions and affiliated organizations to disclose any financial links to China. In addition, the bill would set new limits on foreign students wanting to transfer between schools.
The bill also empowers the Department of Homeland Security to reject student visa applicants from “countries of concern” if the applicant could pose a future national security risk to the United States. That includes individuals seeking to work in “the energy sector of Iran” or to “participate in coursework or training relating to or otherwise engage in flight training, aviation maintenance, or flight operations.”
Under President Donald Trump, the State Department revoked roughly 100,000 visas in 2025, according to <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/trump-administration-revokes-more-than-100000-visas-first-year-back" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fox News</a>. The outlet noted that 8,000 of those were student visas.
According to a 2024 <a href="https://www.ice.gov/doclib/sevis/btn/25_0605_2024-sevis-btn.pdf#:~:text=The%20total%20number%20of%20SEVIS%20records%20for,of%205.3%20percent%20from%20calendar%20year%202023." target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a> from Immigration and Customs Enforcement, just under 1.6 million individuals were “active” students in the Student and Exchange Visitor Program. The report noted a 5.3% increase from 2023, with Asia as the most common “continent of origin.”
Roughly 50,000 people may have overstayed their student and exchange visa as of fiscal year 2023, a DHS <a href="https://www.dhs.gov/sites/default/files/2024-10/24_1011_CBP-Entry-Exit-Overstay-Report-FY23-Data.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a> at the time revealed.

The National Republican Congressional Committee is targeting Democratic Rep. Adam Gray of California in a new ad campaign.
The NRCC released its first ad targeting Gray on Tuesday. The ad targets Gray’s record on immigration.
“Adam Gray voted to give criminal illegal aliens driver&#8217;s licenses. He voted against funding to deport dangerous criminals. Adam Gray is dangerously radical on immigration,” the ad states.

Gray currently represents California’s 13th congressional district, a seat <a href="https://rollcall.com/2025/05/08/most-vulnerable-house-members-2026-election/">identified</a> last year as one of the most vulnerable of the upcoming midterm elections. California Governor Gavin Newsom’s efforts to redistrict ahead of midterms may have <a href="https://www.insideelections.com/news/article/a-detailed-analysis-california-redistricting-new-map-texas-gerrymandering">given</a> Gray some room to breathe, however.
Immigration has been a top issue for Republicans since President Donald Trump returned to office in January. Immigration <a href="https://www.economist.com/interactive/trump-approval-tracker">remains</a> one of Trump’s most popular issues, though Americans’ approval of Trump’s handling of immigration has slipped since he effectively ended massive amounts of illegal immigration that poured into the country under the Biden administration.
That ad hits Gray over a couple of votes on his record regarding immigration, one of them from over a decade ago. In 2013, while Gray was serving in the California assembly, he <a href="https://legiscan.com/CA/votes/AB60/2013">voted</a> in favor of a bill that would allow illegal aliens to receive a California driver’s license.
Last year, Gray voted against Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill, which, in part, provided funding for finishing the border wall along the United States’ southern border. It also provided a surge of funding for hiring thousands of federal immigration agents.
The One Big Beautiful Bill <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/articles/2025/07/president-trumps-one-big-beautiful-bill-is-now-the-law/">included</a> a slate of other Trump priorities, as well. The bill made permanent the 2017 tax cuts from Trump’s first term in office, secured $12.5 billion for the national air traffic control system, and funded development of the Golden Dome missile defense system.
Gray is in his first term as a U.S. congressman, having flipped California’s 13th district from Republican control in 2024. Gray beat then-incumbent Republican Rep. John Duarte by less than 200 votes.
Gray’s strongest opponent this cycle is Kevin Lincoln, the Republican former mayor of Stockton, a city added to California 13 under the new congressional map pushed for by Newsom.
“From Assemblyman to Congressman, Adam Gray’s out of touch, radical immigration votes put criminal illegal immigrants first and the safety of California families dead last. Californians deserve a Congressman who will put their safety first,” NRCC spokesman Christian Martinez told The Daily Wire in a statement.

A Venezuelan illegal immigrant who allegedly took part in a violent strangling death that led to an individual being stuffed into a suitcase and buried in a “remote” part of New Mexico was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on January 8, <a href="https://www.fox21news.com/news/local/tren-de-aragua-member-arrested/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fox 21 News Colorado</a> reported.
Yorvis Michel Carrascal Campo, an alleged Tren de Aragua gang member, is one of 11 people indicted by the Justice Department in December in the case, as the victim was allegedly kidnapped by the group that later tried to hide the evidence of the crime in June 2024, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
Carrascal Campo is one of seven individuals facing charges for “conspiracy to conduct racketeering activity, murder in aid of racketeering and drug trafficking conspiracy,” according to a DOJ press release prior to the arrest. DHS said he crossed the southern border into the United States illegally in October 2023 during the Biden-era border crisis, and he had a final order to exit the country in June 2024, just days before the murder occurred.
“Carrascal Campo’s crimes shock the conscience and are yet another example of the failed border policies of Joe Biden that RELEASED TdA gang members into American communities,” Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement first shared with The Daily Wire.

He is one of five explicitly named in the indictment for “[carrying] out the TdA leader&#8217;s order to kill John Doe I by restraining and strangling John Doe I until John Doe I died” in Albuquerque. The victim was questioned regarding “his loyalty to TdA and his connections to rival gangs.”
The DOJ alleges that Carrascal Campo was one of three people who “cleaned up the scene of the murder to conceal the murder from law enforcement” and helped with burying the body.
In addition, the <a href="https://www.justice.gov/usao-nm/media/1421321/dl?inline" target="_blank" rel="noopener">indictment</a> said that Carrascal Campo “supplied” ketamine between May and June 2024 to those involved with TdA in New Mexico as a way to “manufacture and distribute tusi.” Tusi is better known as pink cocaine.
“Just last week, two vicious Tren de Aragua gang members—also let loose on American streets by Joe Biden—weaponized their vehicle against Border Patrol in Portland. These are the types of monsters our law enforcement is targeting. We are working around the clock to clean up the chaos caused by the Biden administration who let untold millions of illegal aliens including murderers, pedophiles, rapists, terrorists, and gang members pour into our country,” DHS said in a statement.
The arrest comes as ICE continues to apprehend illegals nationwide and faces protests throughout the country.

When it comes to the unrest in Minneapolis, the more you allow people to get away with this kind of behavior — direct threats, incitement to violence, blocking traffic, blocking law enforcement, even driving their cars into law enforcement — the more of it you&#8217;re going to get. People will become accustomed to the behavior and to the idea that it is acceptable.
Of course, now other bougie white ladies who have been doing the same thing are concluding from this incident that, well, maybe they shouldn&#8217;t.
This Charlotte woman is now terrified to obstruct law enforcement:

The last part is really all that matters. “It&#8217;s frightening right now.”
You can tell how confused this woman is. She might be sincere, but she&#8217;s so confused.
She says the woman was trying to drive away. She wasn&#8217;t actually driving away. We now have all the video footage from all the angles. Even CNN is running it. The woman was clearly trying to obstruct federal law enforcement. And guess what? You don&#8217;t have a right to obstruct federal law enforcement, or local law enforcement, for that matter. You don&#8217;t have that right. You may think you have that right because Democrat politicians have lied to you and have encouraged this behavior and have allowed the anarchy to fester and are now largely responsible for that woman being killed. 
So let’s correct the record right now: You don&#8217;t have that right.

Spot on. This is exactly the right tone. 
We&#8217;re not saying, “That evil domestic terrorist woman, yeah we love that she&#8217;s dead!” We know, it’s sad. It&#8217;s sad that she was perhaps so brainwashed that she thought the ICE officers really were the Gestapo. Where did she get that from? She got it from cable news. She probably thought that illegal aliens have a right to be in this country. They don&#8217;t. But she has heard that from all the Democrat bullhorns. She&#8217;s heard that from anyone who says that illegal aliens are &#8220;undocumented Americans.&#8221; &#8220;Well, if they&#8217;re Americans, they have a right to be here.&#8221; They&#8217;re not Americans. That&#8217;s the point.
She probably thought these people were totally innocent. They&#8217;re not. 
She probably thought they&#8217;re not face-tattooed gangsters, they&#8217;re not defrauding the government. They&#8217;re all just little &#8220;abuelas&#8221; trying to peacefully make a pie in the kitchen when the Gestapo suddenly shows up. No — she was brainwashed.
And she betrayed her family. She betrayed her daughter. She may not have meant to — I don&#8217;t doubt that — but she did. And why? To go out there, not just for a stupid cause, but for such an unjust cause? And leave your kid without a mother? I feel sorry for this woman that her mind would be so scrambled to get to that point. 
But it doesn&#8217;t change the fact that it was all wrong. In fact, that should impel you to want to set the record straight, which is what JD does when it comes to the news media.

And that is precisely the point. If you lie generally, you should be ashamed of yourself because you&#8217;re committing a mortal sin. If you lie about an event of public interest, you should especially be ashamed of yourself because it causes political scandal. But if you lie about this kind of issue, you should be ashamed of yourself because you are setting the stage for naive and ignorant people to put themselves in harm&#8217;s way for your lie.
And that&#8217;s what happened. The liberal media — it is not hyperbole to say — bear a considerable amount of responsibility for that woman&#8217;s death.

Just seven years ago, Democrats around the country embarked on a campaign to essentially abolish U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in response to President Donald J. Trump’s lawful immigration enforcement actions during his first administration. One prominent Democrat, David Garcia, who couldn’t help but fall into this lawless rhetoric, hailed from my state of Arizona. The most notable statement that landed Garcia in trouble was when <a href="https://revealnews.org/blog/politicians-call-for-investigation-about-migrant-children-held-in-vacant-arizona-office-building/">he said</a>, “Trump’s immoral actions – which Ducey has enabled – demand that we rebuild our immigration system that reflects our American values.” Because, in large part, of Garcia’s attitude about ICE, he lost the November General Election to incumbent governor Doug Ducey.
History is repeating itself in 2025, as Democrats again find themselves on the opposite side of law and order, demonizing the brave men and women who serve at ICE, Border Patrol, and other law enforcement agencies. While federal agents apprehend criminal illegal aliens in communities across America, Democratic officials are taking to the streets, airwaves, and digital spaces to impede or foment outrage against the enforcement actions. Due to these antics, the lives and livelihoods of these brave men and women in law enforcement – and even those engaging in the riots or protests – are being jeopardized. We saw this play out in Minneapolis this week, where a protester was tragically killed because she appeared to be driving her vehicle straight at an officer, who reacted in self-defense. The dichotomy playing itself out in front of the American people couldn’t be starker.
These actions are not laughing matters, nor protected by the Bill of Rights as some clueless radicals wrongfully assert. Because of the hatred toward the heroes of ICE and other federal law enforcement attempting to carry out their sworn duties, agents are experiencing more injuries and threats. A recent study from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) showed there was a “1,150% increase in assaults and violence against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) law enforcement officers (238 reported assaults) as compared with the same period in 2024 under the Biden administration (19 reported assaults).” According to the DHS report, these acts of violence include “hitting, spitting, kicking and biting during arrests, vehicle ramming, open gunfire, and throwing of Molotov cocktails.”
One recent fiasco involved newly minted U.S. Congresswoman Adelita Grijalva, who has attempted to grab headline after headline to artificially launch herself into national prominence since winning her special election earlier this fall. Grijalva took umbrage at ICE agents in Tucson, Arizona, conducting an operation against an alleged transnational criminal organization that was believed to be involved with labor exploitation, and tax and immigration violations. The Special Agent in Charge stated that the investigation, which predated the Trump Administration, uncovered human smuggling and trafficking.
So, what did Grijalva do for law enforcement officers helping to clear her community of alleged human traffickers? Did she thank them? Did she call on members of her community to support their lawful efforts? No, she did the opposite. An ICE statement showed that Grijalva “joined the rioting crowd and attempted to impede law enforcement officers, then took to social media to slander law enforcement by falsely claiming she was pepper sprayed.” Videos of the interaction that day back up the ICE account of the scene. Sure enough, two agents on the Homeland Security Investigations Special Response Team were injured during the events on the ground.
Unfortunately, this Grijalva episode is par for the course for how Democrats are choosing to deal with President Trump’s actions to enforce American laws and remove criminal illegal immigrants from our streets. Almost every day in the country, we have been subjected to violent clashes between federal law enforcement officers and rioters intent on stopping the government from protecting our communities. This narrative threatens to strip our proud nation of the principles that have made the United States the greatest country in world history, one being that we join together to uphold the law and support the officials who are tasked with doing just that. What should be a sense of unity that transcends party affiliation is grossly tearing apart the fabric of America and will prove to be our undoing unless it is stopped in its tracks.
As Army General and engineer Henry M. Robert once said, “Where there is no law, but every man does what is right in his own eyes, there is the least of liberty.” We are seeing the results of this quote play out in front of us. Democrats, in standing against federal law enforcement’s efforts to apprehend criminal illegal aliens, are compromising Americans’ liberties in their pursuit of eviscerating any semblance of law and order. Under the Democrats’ schemes, Americans are less safe, less prosperous, and less free. Democrats have again chosen their path; now, law-abiding Americans around the country must choose theirs.
I choose to stand with our ICE agents as they boldly execute their lawful charges against those illegally in our nation, many of whom have committed offenses other than simply crossing into the United States without authorization. However, it is sad that we must take sides. This reality is not becoming of a world superpower, nor will it lead to stability going forward. Our children and grandchildren will surely pay the price for this fracture. This nation will not survive long without borders or a commitment from its people to unashamedly enforce our laws.
So, as we prepare to commemorate America’s 250th birthday in just a handful of months, let us choose to support the efforts of government officials to restore law and order to our streets and remove criminal illegal aliens from our communities. These men and women are heroes, and they deserve our praise and support for their actions. The United States of America stands with ICE.

A suspected member of the notorious Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua attempted to run over federal immigration officers in Portland, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
One Border Patrol officer pulled a gun and fired a “defensive shot” at the vehicle. The suspected gang member and his passenger, also suspected of gang ties, sped off.
“At 2:19 PST, US Border Patrol agents were conducting a targeted vehicle stop in Portland, Oregon. The passenger of the vehicle and target is a Venezuelan illegal alien affiliated with the transnational Tren de Aragua prostitution ring and involved in a recent shooting in Portland,” Homeland Security said. “The vehicle driver is believed to be a member of the vicious Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua. When agents identified themselves to the vehicle occupants, the driver weaponized his vehicle and attempted to run over the law enforcement agents.”
“Fearing for his life and safety, an agent fired a defensive shot. The driver drove off with the passenger, fleeing the scene,” the statement continued.

The department released the statement after <a href="https://apnews.com/article/immigration-shooting-oregon-5eeffe06106f711b8a17f6072ad9b53d">reports</a> began to circulate that federal immigration agents shot and wounded two people in Portland. It was not immediately clear if the reports and the statement from Homeland Security are related.
The shooting in Portland comes a day after an ICE agent fatally <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/violent-agitator-who-tried-to-run-over-ice-agents-in-minneapolis-fatally-shot-by-feds-dhs-says">shot</a> a woman in Minneapolis. The woman had blocked a road with her vehicle. As federal officers exited their vehicles and approached her vehicle, requesting she exit hers, the woman backed up before pulling her car forward. One officer in front of the car then fired a fatal shot at the woman.
The Department of Homeland Security defended the ICE agents’ conduct, calling the incident “an act of domestic terrorism.”

The event sparked mass demonstrations in Minneapolis. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz threatened to call in the National Guard and called for mass protests across the United States against immigration officers.

Suspected Gang Member ‘Weaponized’ Vehicle Against Border Patrol Agents In Portland, DHS Says

President Trump is not on the ballot in 2026, and thus his coattails will really not apply to House Republicans or Senate Republicans.
That means an uphill battle for Republicans. The incumbent party in off-year elections tends not to do particularly well. Right now, Republicans are running the barest majority humanly possible in the House of Representatives because of the untimely death of California Republican Representative Doug LaMalfa. His death shrinks the House GOP majority to 218 to 213.
Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, who wants to run for president herself and seems to be running an anti-Trump campaign, formally resigned from the House in the middle of her term this week. So there are now four empty seats, two in red-leaning districts, two in blue districts. Also, Representative Jim Baird of Indiana was in a car accident, so he is sidelined temporarily.
That means that the GOP is now down to 217 votes. Then you also have people like Thomas Massie, who routinely votes against the president of the United States, and now you&#8217;re down to 216. 
Speaker of the House Mike Johnson always had a very, very tough job. Now that job is becoming nearly impossible.
So the question becomes: How do President Trump and Republicans somehow get something done this year that allows them to claim victory heading into 2026?

Foreign policy wins actually do matter. There is this idea that what happens on the foreign policy front doesn&#8217;t help presidents at all, or their parties, but that is eminently untrue. Foreign policy wins can help at the margins. That is particularly true if you are targeting political constituencies that are drifting away from you.
One of the factors about the Trump constituency that is really quite fascinating is that he radically overperformed with Hispanic Americans in 2024. There&#8217;s a case to be made that what he&#8217;s doing in places like Venezuela, and possibly Cuba, is going to have an outsized impact on voter turnout in 2026, particularly in some of the swing states.
Trump also has a booming stock market.
The stakes are very high because if Democrats were to win the House of Representatives, the Trump agenda stops — dead.
President Trump says that if the Republicans do not win the midterms, he will undoubtedly be impeached. He is likely right about this, although I&#8217;m not so sure that President Trump gets impeached the minute that the Democrats take over the House. I think that they will start investigating everybody in Trump&#8217;s orbit. I think they will start ruining lives inside Trump&#8217;s orbit. They did that during Trump’s first term.
One of the things the GOP will not be able to count on is Democrats being totally stupid. They are getting less stupid. They have lost a series of elections. It&#8217;s not been good for them. And now they seem to be jettisoning some of their worst baggage, including the trans issue. You don&#8217;t hear them talking about DEI anymore.
Instead, they are refocusing over and over again on “affordability.” They believe that is their only winning path. They are using the Venezuela issue to say that Trump is ignoring the “affordability” problem at home.
But there is a line of attack here that Republicans are going to have to use — and use often: the amount of fraud, waste, and abuse of the system that is inherent in a bigger government, from Democratic administrations everywhere from Minnesota to New York City.
That is what is going to crush the “affordability” issue.
Another thing that&#8217;s been fascinating to watch is the collapse of Tim Walz in Minnesota, a very blue state. And Tim Walz just had to declare that he would not run for reelection again. He was forced to make that declaration because of the extraordinary amounts of fraud that allegedly exist in his blue state.
When you connect that to the Democrats’ immigration policy, it is a toxic combination. One of the reasons the fraud in Minnesota has captured the minds of so many Americans is because it appears to revolve around members of a community who have been imported into the United States, who have not assimilated into American practices, and bilked the rest of the taxpayers in Minnesota.
When you combine the fraud and immigration issues, it’s a toxic brew for Democrats. It exists across the spectrum. And it’s not just in Minnesota; it’s in New York; it’s in California.
Republicans need to focus extraordinary fire on this particular issue, because it&#8217;s not just enough to unleash DOGE and say waste, fraud, and abuse have to be caught; you have to actually connect it with Democratic policy, and you have to connect it to something that Republicans have been loath to connect it to: the size of government.
When I was growing up, being a conservative meant you were against the expansion of the size and scope of government. Nowadays, it seems in vogue for Republicans to be in favor of that expansion, but at the same time, to want to “cut that waste, fraud and abuse.”
That&#8217;s not a great argument, because inherent in a bigger government is waste, fraud, and abuse. And when you combine that with loose immigration policy, the way Democrats have, you end up with Minnesota.
So here’s my advice for 2026 for Republicans: Focus on “affordability,” but point out what Democrats would do if they gained power: radically expand government, which radically expands fraud, radically expands waste, and radically increases costs.
