As <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/what-you-need-to-know-about-the-ohio-town-overrun-by-haitian-immigrants" target="_blank" rel="noopener">covered</a> by <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/podcasts/morning-wire" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Daily Wire</a>, Springfield, Ohio, has seen a massive influx of Haitian migrants since 2020, wreaking havoc on public services and causing a myriad of social problems.
But Springfield is not the only town struggling with a sudden influx of Haitian migrants.
Charleroi, a small town in Pennsylvania, has seen a <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/pittsburgh/news/charleroi-school-district-immigrant-students/#" target="_blank" rel="noopener">2000% increase</a> in its immigration population in the past two years, with the majority coming from Haiti. The small town had a population of about 4,200 in 2022, before the sudden influx. Charleroi&#8217;s population has since <a href="https://www.monvalleyindependent.com/2024/09/12/charleroi-approves-73k-increase-in-police-force-budget/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">doubled</a>, according to Charleroi Council President Kristin Hopkins-Calcek.
Residents are noticing similar problems as Springfield citizens. For one, driving in the area has become increasingly hazardous.
&#8220;The immigrants now have been issued driver&#8217;s licenses but do not know how to read the traffic signs, causing numerous traffic accidents in the borough,&#8221; one long-time resident told The Daily Wire. &#8220;And I stress numerous, just about every week you hear about another causing injury or property damage.&#8221;
&#8220;Cars are going the wrong way and there are wrecks at least once a week,&#8221; another resident said during a City Council meeting, <a href="https://www.monvalleyindependent.com/2024/09/10/car-crashes-becoming-concern-in-charleroi-20240910-0740-592927/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Mon Valley Independent</a> reported this week. &#8220;Three very bad accidents in less than one month. Something needs to be done before somebody is killed.&#8221;

One resident questioned how immigrants are so easily getting driver&#8217;s licenses. In Pennsylvania, immigrants with Temporary Protected Status, or TPS, <a href="https://www.dmv.pa.gov/REALID/Pages/REAL-ID-Non-U.S.Citizens.aspx#:~:text=If%20you%20are%20a%20lawfully,must%20reflect%20your%20current%20name." target="_blank" rel="noopener">are eligible</a> to apply for a driver&#8217;s licenses.
&#8220;We need to reach out to our legislature to make changes on the driving privileges of drivers brought to this area from other countries,&#8221; she <a href="https://www.monvalleyindependent.com/2024/09/10/car-crashes-becoming-concern-in-charleroi-20240910-0740-592927/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>. &#8220;It does not appear that any additional training or licensing is done before they&#8217;re given the privilege of driving a car. Something terrible is going to happen.&#8221;
Similar to Springfield, schools in the Charleroi area are over capacity and struggling to pay for resources and teachers who can teach English as a second language.
&#8220;The Charleroi School District is overwhelmed trying to teach and communicate with all the new students, with most not knowing how to speak English and taking away learning time from the rest of the kids,&#8221; the resident told The Daily Wire.
<a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/pittsburgh/news/charleroi-school-district-immigrant-students/#" target="_blank" rel="noopener">According</a> to a CBS report from March, the district had to hire additional ELL (English language learners) teachers, an ELL coach for the teachers, and an interpreter, which cost more than $400,000. An additional $300,000 was projected to be spent for the 2025 school year.
The town is also struggling to beef up law enforcement, due to both the sudden rise in immigrant population and an issue with police retention.
Charleroi has had to <a href="https://www.monvalleyindependent.com/2024/09/12/charleroi-approves-73k-increase-in-police-force-budget/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">increase</a> its police budget by $73,000, compared to last year, according to a report from The Mon Valley Independent published Thursday. Residents are worried the increase will spark higher taxes, despite assurances from the council that there won&#8217;t be a larger-than-expected tax increase next year.
“We want to keep the public safe. We are having issues we have never had before,&#8221; Council President Kristin Hopkins-Calcek said. &#8220;Our population has doubled and we have our police enforcing everything that citizens have demanded over time that they enforce.”
As highlighted by <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/what-you-need-to-know-about-the-ohio-town-overrun-by-haitian-immigrants" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Daily Wire</a>, the Biden-Harris administration this past June expanded temporary legal status to 300,000 Haitians, lasting until at least February 2026. This allows these migrants to remain and work in the U.S. until then, and possibly beyond. This was awarded to any Haitian in the U.S. who was here before or on June 3.
Biden also has a program that allows 30,000 migrants per month from Haiti, Cuba, Nicaragua, and Venezuela to fly directly into the U.S. for two years if they have financial sponsors.

SPRINGFIELD, OHIO—Residents gathered this week at a city commission meeting to speak out against the massive surge of Haitian migrants, which they say has harmed public safety and taken jobs away from American citizens.
The meeting came after as many as 20,000 Haitian migrants were resettled in the midwestern town of about 60,000, propelling Springfield into the center of America’s debate about immigration.
“I am a disabled, elderly woman, who has such high anxiety leaving my house that I rarely do. And when I do I’m armed and I have my 120-pound pitbull with me. I’ve been followed, I’ve been groped,” one Springfield community member said at the city commission meeting.
“The influx has come in so fast and they haven’t been educated on our ways, on our laws, they need to know these things.”

It isn’t violent crime, however, that worries many Springfield residents. Many say that the Haitian migrants often do not obey traffic laws or are unable to safely drive altogether.
Last August, a Haitian migrant <a href="https://www.springfieldnewssun.com/news/judge-we-cant-fix-this-minivan-driver-in-fatal-clark-county-school-bus-crash-sentenced-to-prison/WPF262IOXNFTLCQKOTQPZYEKBA/">ran into a school bus</a>, killing 11-year-old Aiden Clark and injuring many other children. The road safety concerns led to an effort to ramp up law enforcement, but one resident, Mary Adkins, called it “a Band Aid on a hemorrhaging artery.”
“They&#8217;re trying to do a surge with the sheriff, police, state highway patrol, for the accidents on that but you know, our insurance rates are going through the roof because they&#8217;re saying Springfield is a high risk area,” another resident explained.
Springfield community members also told The Daily Wire that companies are hiring Haitian workers, often at the expense of American citizens who have found themselves out of a job in a town where cost-of-living is top of mind.
“I have a grandson who worked for Dole. He was out there a week,” Springfield community member Jack Oliver told The Daily Wire. “He was hired, went to work one day, suited up and everything else. A guy comes out and he says we don’t need you anymore, Haitians took over the job.”
Another resident claimed that Amazon is laying off American workers and replacing them with Haitian migrant workers at a nearby fulfillment center just outside of town.
“They’ve recently started laying off all the Americans and bringing in Haitian help that’s cheap, like two or three hundred,” Terry Adkins told The Daily Wire as the commission meeting came to a close. 
Vice President Kamala Harris, who was tasked with stemming the flow of migrants to our southern border, <a href="https://x.com/Surabees/status/1833147988765478944">boasted</a> that the Biden-Harris administration extended temporary protected status to over 100,000 Haitian migrants, saying that they &#8220;need support&#8221; and &#8220;protection.&#8221;

Ohio Governor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/mike-dewine" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mike DeWine</a> (R) is sending law enforcement and millions of dollars to Springfield, Ohio, after residents&#8217; public grievances about the influx of 20,000 Haitian migrants to their community garnered national attention.
DeWine said Tuesday that state troopers will be sent to help address the growing reckless driving issue, largely sparked by the migrant influx. He&#8217;ll also be dedicating $2.5 million toward health care. Wait times for health care have significantly increased for residents due to the migrants.
&#8220;I want the people of Springfield and Clark County to know that as we move forward, we will continue to do everything we can to help the community deal with this surge of migrants,&#8221; DeWine <a href="https://governor.ohio.gov/media/news-and-media/governor-dewine-announces-healthcare-public-safety-support-for-springfield-and-clark-county" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>. &#8220;The federal government has not demonstrated that they have any kind of plan to deal with the issue. We will not walk away.&#8221;
&#8220;The influx of Haitians to Springfield and Clark County has significantly impacted local primary care providers due to the increased number of patients and the need for more translation services,&#8221; a press release from the governor&#8217;s office said. &#8220;In general, migrants from Haiti have had little to no healthcare services prior to arriving in the United States, including vaccinations.&#8221;
&#8220;To address the increase in dangerous driving in Springfield by inexperienced Haitian drivers and all others who disregard traffic laws, Governor DeWine directed the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) to support the Springfield Police Department with traffic enforcement,&#8221; the press release noted. &#8220;Beginning [Thursday] morning, OSHP troopers will patrol local roads with the highest crash rates and hold accountable any driver who drives erratically and risks the safety of others.&#8221;

In addition to DeWine&#8217;s action, the state&#8217;s Republican Attorney General Dave Yost directed his office to research legal avenues to stop the federal government from sending “an unlimited number of migrants to Ohio communities.&#8221;
The Biden-Harris administration in June gave 300,000 Haitians temporary legal status, which lasts until at least February 2026. This allows these migrants to remain and work in the U.S. until then, and possibly beyond. This was awarded to any Haitian in the U.S. who was here before or on June 3, and included thousands of Haitians in Springfield.
City Manager Bryan Heck said his town attracted migrants because of its affordable housing and job openings. The city was in turmoil for years, but had a turnaround when manufacturing picked up.
Numerous residents have said they witnessed “buses” of these migrants being dropped off at gas stations and laundromats.

Aiden Clark was killed in August 2023, when a Haitian immigrant, Hermanio Joseph, 36, crossed over the center dividing line and <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/09/03/us/springfield-ohio-school-bus-crash-haiti-immigrants.html">crashed</a> into a full school bus. The 11-year-old was ejected from the bus, which <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/09/03/us/springfield-ohio-school-bus-crash-haiti-immigrants.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">flipped over</a> and then landed on him. More than 20 children were taken to the hospital. Joseph is now facing nine years behind bars after being convicted of involuntary manslaughter. He was not licensed to drive in Ohio.

A Cuban national who has been accused of murdering a woman in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/tennessee" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Tennessee</a> was reportedly released into the country by the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/biden-administration" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Biden administration</a> last year, according to a new report. 
NewsNation <a href="https://www.yahoo.com/news/migrant-entered-via-cbp-one-222006710.html#:~:text=Dayren%20Roque%20Lopez%2C%2041%2C%20from,in%20a%20Cleveland%20residence%20Sunday." target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> Tuesday that 41-year-old Dayren Roque Lopez, who is suspected of murdering 25-year-old Dayana Garcia, was released into the United States in San Ysidro, California, in August 2023 using the Biden administration’s Customs and Border Protection One app. The app allows people seeking entry into the U.S. expedited processing and gives them a court date to hear their asylum claim. 
Lopez was arrested in Zavala County, Texas, on Monday after he was accused of murdering Garcia in Cleveland, Tennessee. He was caught almost 30 miles away from the Texas/Mexico border, according to police. 
Lopez had work authorization in the United States and was set to have a hearing on his immigration status in Memphis in November, according to NewsNation. 
Cleveland Police said that they were working with Texas Rangers to bring Lopez back to Tennessee to face first-degree murder charges. The suspect reportedly was arrested on domestic charges in February but was not convicted. 
Cleveland Police Chief Mark Gibson said that the circumstances around Garcia’s death were still under investigation, and officials were not ready to release the cause of death to the public. 
“We have been in contact with her family, and I&#8217;m sure we&#8217;ll start finding out a lot more information about her as time goes,” he <a href="https://kfoxtv.com/news/nation-world/man-wanted-for-tennesssee-womans-murder-arrested-in-texas-dayren-roque-lopez-zavala-county-bradley-county-cleveland-dayana-garcia" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>.

Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) said the incident exemplifies the Biden-Harris administration’s failed immigration policies. 
“The accused murderer of a 25-year-old woman in Cleveland, Tennessee, is an illegal alien, someone who came in this country on the CBP One App,” she said. “You&#8217;ve heard me talk about this because it is another of those components that the Biden-Harris administration is using trying to make illegal aliens legal. This absolutely has to stop. This is why it is imperative that we close the border.”
Thousands of foreign nationals have been released into the U.S. through the CBP One app, which allows foreign nationals to schedule appointments to apply for asylum at ports of entry.

A hotel in downtown <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/texas" target="_blank" rel="noopener">El Paso</a> that is allegedly occupied by a Venezuelan gang was ordered temporarily shut down by a state judge on Monday.
The judge&#8217;s order came after the Gateway Hotel and its owner <a href="https://kfoxtv.com/news/local/el-pasos-gateway-hotel-faces-legal-action-over-alleged-gang-activity-safety-violations" target="_blank" rel="noopener">received</a> a temporary injunction and restraining order from the El Paso County attorney on Monday over suspicions that the Venezuelan &#8220;Tren De Aragua&#8221; gang was engaging in criminal activity inside the hotel.
Tren de Aragua made national headlines a few weeks ago after gang members allegedly commandeered an apartment complex in Aurora, Colorado. Police there have <a href="https://www.elpasotimes.com/story/news/nation/2024/09/03/aurora-colorado-apartment-gang-police/75013215007/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">denied</a> the gang controls the complex.
Court documents say that police reports show the Gateway Hotel in El Paso has regular criminal activity, and members of Tren De Aragua have been allowed to operate inside, according to sworn testimony from El Paso police officers.
One officer said police witnessed several Venezuelan men with tattoos associated with the gang walking around the hotel. Hotel management was not attempting to control the conduct of guests, the officer said.
At least 693 calls to police have been made about the hotel over the last two years, including for drugs, thefts, burglaries, and fights.

The court documents also accuse the hotel of operating for the past six years without a valid certificate of occupancy and in violation of city requirements, as well as failing at least three inspections by the El Paso Fire Department since July.
Security videos and pictures from the court documents also show people &#8220;partying&#8221; on the third floor, drinking, smoking, dancing provocatively, and one woman even apparently vomiting in a hallway with children around.
One video also shows a gun being shot, a person threatening someone with another gun, men holding knives, and a man with a hatchet assaulting people in front of a security guard.
One police officer said he suspected prostitution in the hotel. Police also described trash and fire hazards as well and said the general reputation of the hotel was for &#8220;allowing illegal activity (consuming drugs, gang activity, illegal dumping).&#8221;
A hearing is scheduled for December 9 to determine if hotel owner Howard Yun allowed criminal activity on the property.
The county attorney&#8217;s office sued the hotel last month and is seeking a permanent injunction to stop the hotel from operating until long-term solutions are in place.
The Gateway Hotel has been in downtown El Paso since the 1920s, although it has changed ownership.
The occupants of the hotel have until 10 a.m. on Thursday to vacate the building. It is unclear whether law enforcement will be required to evict those living in the hotel.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) charged an illegal immigrant from <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/guatemala" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Guatemala</a> for illegally voting in American elections and stealing the identity of an American citizen.
The Justice Department <a href="https://www.justice.gov/usao-ndal/pr/undocumented-individual-charged-connection-voting-fraud-and-passport-fraud">brought the charges</a> against Angelica Maria Francisco, a 42-year old Guatemalan national illegally residing in Alabama, after it was found that she illegally voted in both the 2016 and 2020 primary and general elections despite not being an American citizen.
The DOJ stated in a press release that Francisco was charged with “false claims of citizenship in connection with voting, false statements in application for a United States passport, use of a United States passport obtained by false statements, and aggravated identity theft.” Francisco has agreed to plead guilty to all charges.
The plea agreement reveals that the Guatemalan national illegally assumed the identity of an American citizen in about 2011 before using that identity to illegally procure a passport and register to vote.
“She subsequently used the United States passport to travel to and from her native country of Guatemala in 2012, 2015, and 2018,” the DOJ explained. “Using the same false identity, Francisco also registered to vote in Alabama in 2016 and voted in the 2016 and 2020 primary and general elections.”
The charge from the DOJ comes as Republicans in the House and Senate are attempting to pass the SAVE Act, a piece of legislation that intends to further safeguard federal elections against illegal immigrant voting. Democrats like Sen. Mark Kelly of Arizona, however, have <a href="https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2024/09/04/democrat-sen-mark-kelly-measure-stop-illegal-immigrant-voting-the-problem-doesnt-exist/">claimed</a> that the problem of illegal immigrant voting “doesn’t exist” and that the act is unnecessary.

Sen. Arizona, which is worth 11 electoral college votes, is a crucial swing state that could determine the fate of the 2024 presidential election.
Elon Musk, meanwhile, has <a href="https://www.foxbusiness.com/politics/elon-musk-says-democrats-allow-illegal-immigration-build-political-power">warned</a> that even illegal immigrants who do not themselves vote could shift the balance of power in Congress in favor of the Democrats simply by being present in the country. The census does not account for citizenship status, meaning that the population figures that determine Congressional apportionment could result in the creation of additional Congressional districts in heavily Democratic areas.
The concerns that illegal immigration could influence our elections come as the Biden-Harris administration has presided over an unprecedented spike in illegal immigration. More than <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/2455010/illegal-border-crossers-total-over-10-million-since-biden-inauguration/">10 million</a> people have crossed the border under the Biden-Harris administration, with an estimated <a href="https://cis.org/Arthur/Blockbuster-House-Report-Reveals-How-Badly-Bidens-Broken-Our-Immigration-System">1.7 million illegal immigrant gotaways recorded</a> since Biden was inaugurated in 2021. There were 415,000 total reported gotaways for 2018, 2019, and 2020 during the Trump administration.

WASHINGTON, D.C. &#8212; <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/donald-trump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Donald Trump</a> on Friday told hundreds of moms from across the country that Democrat policies are harming children, and that a second Trump administration will prioritize the rights of parents.
He spoke for an hour at a conference organized by Moms For Liberty just two blocks from the White House, which some pledged to “fight like a mother” to make his home once again.
Trump said that the Biden-Harris open border policies, which include letting any child across the border as long as they are “unaccompanied” by a parent, cruelly lead to Hispanic children being placed in vulnerable situations.
“Massive percentages of women are being raped and beat to hell coming up in the caravans,” he said. “Mothers give their daughters big bottles of birth control because they know it’s bad coming up.”
The loophole for “unaccompanied minors” persists even under Biden’s recent executive order tightening the border, and Harris’ Democratic National Convention platform reaffirms its commitment to it. Trump suggested that the exemption induced family separation, encouraging children to split off from their parents and come to the U.S. alone, where they are at the whims of traffickers. “We’re getting them to come up, telling them you’ll get free [things],” he said.
Nearly 500,000 “unaccompanied minors” have crossed the border, and Biden eliminated DNA testing requirements and reduced vetting, sending them to live with unrelated “sponsors.” About a third of children <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/whistleblowers-detail-how-85000-unaccompanied-minors-went-missing-after-biden-admin-dropped-them-off-with-sponsors">go missing</a> after being sent to live with sponsors.

Trump said American children also suffer from the migrant influx. “They’re going into the classroom, carrying disease and they don’t even speak english. It’s crazy,” he said. “I thought New York had no money, yet they’re spending billions of dollars on illegal immigrants. … When you think that 21 million people came into our country, that’s bigger than New York. Nobody can take that.”
Trump said foreign leaders are getting rid of criminals in their society by dumping them on the U.S., and that American youth are “being killed by illegal aliens” &#8212; two words he said Democrats don’t want people to use because “they want to take away all the words so you can&#8217;t talk about the subject.” He said that two days ago, he was at the border with parents who had lost a child due to migrant crime.
He said he believes 85-90% of the country does not want to be flooded with illegal immigrants, and that he will deport them. “The highest deportation was a pretty moderate guy, but he hated that our country was being swamped, Dwight Eisenhower,” he said.

Trump said he would restore rights to parents, citing the story of the Loudoun County transgender rape coverup broken by The Daily Wire in which the victim’s father was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/glenn-youngkin-grants-absolute-pardon-to-loudoun-dad-arrested-at-school-board-meeting">prosecuted</a>.
“You have these parents that get in fistfights at school board meetings, and they mean well. Especially in Loudoun County,” he said. “The parents truly love the kids. Some of these people on the boards, I think they don’t like the kids very much, with what they’re doing. You have to give the rights back to the parents. This administration, the FBI goes after the parents. We’ll change that on the first day.”
He also said he would ensure that girls can compete in sports without being thwarted by mediocre boys. “Who would want men playing in women’s sports?” he asked. “The Olympics was the best thing I’ve seen because you really see when these boxers come out, it was so ridiculous … it’s so demeaning to women.”
Parents are a key constituency for Republicans as Democrats have rapidly politicized public education, even fighting against merit and rigor — such as gifted and talented schools — in the name of “equity.”
Trump was introduced by Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL), who attributed his own success to his mother vigilantly monitoring his treatment at the hands of New York’s public schools.
Moms for Liberty formed three years ago out of anger at extended school closures pushed by Democrats at the behest of teachers unions. It is now widely accepted that the moms’ position was the correct one.
Democrats have sought to simply act as if the misstep never occurred, but many at the Moms for Liberty convention believed that children are still suffering from a year of lost learning, and that Democrats should pay a price at the ballot box.
Yet one person wore a mask to Trump’s speech in 2024: a reporter camped in a press area, who was also one of the few not to stand for the national anthem.

New video footage taken inside an Aurora, Colorado, apartment building appears to validate warnings from Aurora City Councilwoman Danielle Jurinsky, who said earlier this week that the complex is being <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/co-city-official-sounds-alarm-on-venezuelan-gang-takeover-entire-complexes-under-gang-control" target="_blank" rel="noopener">overtaken by a violent Venezuelan gang</a>.

A resident who moved out of the apartment building on Wednesday because of the gang activity told Fox News on the condition of anonymity, &#8220;This is organized. They patrol the property with guns visibly, like they&#8217;re not trying to hide them. There&#8217;s no repercussion. These are ghosts.&#8221; The resident added that gang members are dealing drugs in the building.
Jurinsky <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/co-city-official-sounds-alarm-on-venezuelan-gang-takeover-entire-complexes-under-gang-control" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> earlier this week that staff at some apartment complexes &#8220;have been beaten up, they’ve been threatened, their families have been threatened [and] complexes where there are no staff left on the property. These complexes are being run by this Tren de Aragua gang.&#8221;
“They start brokering apartments themselves when someone leaves out of fear or whatever. They go in and take pictures of the apartment themselves,” she added. “Then, I’ve been told, within hours, a Venezuelan family moves in.”

TdA members have been known to work throughout the U.S., and one member of the gang, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/illegal-immigrant-charged-with-laken-rileys-murder-is-active-gang-member-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jose Ibarra</a>, was arrested and charged earlier this year for the murder of Georgia nursing student Laken Riley.
Aurora, which is a suburb of Denver, has been affected by the migrant crisis in Colorado&#8217;s capital. Since December 2022, more than 40,000 illegal immigrants have arrived in Denver, and city officials have cut police, sheriff, and fire department funding to deal with the crisis.

More than 20 illegal immigrants in southern California attempted to board school buses on two separate occasions as the buses were on routes transporting children, school district officials said.
Two bus routes in the Jamul-Dulzura Union School District were interrupted by groups of illegal immigrants earlier this week, forcing the school district to warn parents to &#8220;stay [vigilant],&#8221; Fox 5 San Diego <a href="https://fox5sandiego.com/news/local-news/migrants-attempt-to-board-school-buses-in-east-county/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. The first incident happened on Tuesday afternoon and involved three men walking in the middle of the road and trying to get the school bus filled with children to stop. Superintendent Liz Bystedt said that the bus had to &#8220;go around&#8221; the group to continue on its route.
On Wednesday, another bus stopped at a designated pick-up spot near where the bus from Tuesday was forced to drive around illegal immigrants and was met with a group of 20 illegal immigrants who attempted to board the bus. Bystedt said that parents who were at the bus stop waiting with their children ensured that the kids made it onto the bus safely and that no illegal immigrants boarded.
It is unknown if the groups are connected, the Fox report said.

The superintendent said that the district reported both bus incidents to the U.S. Border Patrol, California Highway Patrol, and San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, according to Fox 5.
“The San Diego Sheriff’s Office was made aware of this incident today. We are conducting a follow up investigation to determine if a criminal act has occurred. The Sheriff’s Office takes issues regarding student safety very seriously and are working with the school district in order to keep the students and our community safe,” the sheriff&#8217;s office said in a statement.
Jamul is just 25 miles from the Mexican border city of Tijuana. The San Diego sector has been a hot spot for illegal border crossing this year, with more than 37,000 arrests made by the U.S. Border Patrol in the area in April, the Associated Press <a href="https://apnews.com/article/san-diego-border-asylum-biden-mexico-da1e7b7c81e4e58912deff6d36dbdb9e" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
As authorities investigate the incidents, the school district said that bus drivers will drive past any bus stops where suspected illegal immigrants are present and told parents to follow the bus to the next stop &#8220;for the safety of students and bus drivers.&#8221;

The Venezuelan gang, Tren de Aragua, has even taken control of apartment complexes in the city, according to Aurora City Council Member Danielle Jurinsky.
&#8220;We currently have entire complexes under gang control — complexes where staff have been beaten up, they&#8217;ve been threatened, their families have been threatened [and] complexes where there are no staff left on the property. These complexes are being run by this Tren de Aragua gang,&#8221; said Jurinsky.

The Tren de Aragua gang has members across the country and is known for its brutality. One of its members, Jose Ibarra, was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/illegal-immigrant-charged-with-laken-rileys-murder-is-active-gang-member-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">charged</a> with murdering Georgia nursing student Laken Riley. Another Tren de Aragua gang member, Jhonardy Jose Pacheco-Chirino, was arrested after beating a man at an Aurora apartment complex, according to police. He was arrested again after a shooting that injured two men, the New York Post <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/08/25/us-news/denver-tren-de-aragua-gang-violence-spills-over-into-aurora-colorado/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
Aurora has <a href="https://archive.ph/3T3SQ" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sought</a> to stop illegal immigrants from getting bused to the &#8220;non-sanctuary city,&#8221; and the city council passed a resolution pledging that there would be no handouts for migrants in the city. The Post <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/08/25/us-news/denver-tren-de-aragua-gang-violence-spills-over-into-aurora-colorado/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that Denver leads the country in new migrant arrivals per capita. Since December 2022, more than 40,000 illegal immigrants have arrived in the Mile High City.
Abe Laydon, a county commissioner in Douglas County — just south of Denver — said that Denver&#8217;s sanctuary city policies still affect the suburbs.
&#8220;Not too long ago, we saw this influx of 40,000 migrants [to Denver],&#8221; Laydon said. &#8220;Douglas County rang the bell and said, &#8216;Look, from a common sense perspective, it&#8217;s impossible that wouldn&#8217;t have a huge impact on resources in the Denver metro area – and it did.&#8221;

Laydon said that Douglas County outlawed unscheduled bus stops and prohibited buses from San Antonio from dropping off migrants in the area. A Colorado state law passed in 2019, however, cripples local officials by preventing them from working directly with Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICE).
&#8220;Our local law enforcement would like the ability to communicate with local immigration officials,&#8221; Laydon said. &#8220;We have been apprised that there has absolutely been an increase in property crimes, assault and trafficking, and it&#8217;s specific issues with the cartels coming out of Venezuela.&#8221;
In April, Denver city officials cut police, sheriff, and fire department spending to allocate more funding for the illegal immigrants who have arrived there. To pay for the &#8220;Newcomer Program Strategy,&#8221; Denver Democratic Mayor Mike Johnston announced cuts to police spending by $8.4 million and fire department spending by $2.5 million.

Her statement came after Axios published a story headlined, “<a href="https://www.axios.com/2024/08/27/kamala-harris-flip-flops-border-wall" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Harris flip-flops on building the border wall</a>.” The story characterizes Harris’ support for a bipartisan border bill as a flip in favor of supporting a wall along the southern border. The bill, which died in Congress earlier this year, was negotiated by a team of lawmakers including Republican Sen. James Lankford of Oklahoma and Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy of Connecticut.
“It requires the Trump border wall,” Lankford told Axios. “It is in the bill itself that it sets the standards that were set during the Trump administration: Here&#8217;s where it will be built. Here’s how it has to be built, the height, the type, everything during the Trump construction.”

The proposed legislation would cut down border wall spending to a fraction of what Trump requested during his term and would allocate $650 million toward the border wall, far below Trump’s request of $18 billion.
In addition to restricting the funds needed to complete the border wall, the legislation would codify a number of rules that border experts have said would lead to the crisis at the border growing worse. The bill would only force the Department of Homeland Security to take emergency action on the border if encounters rise to an average of 5,000 a day for seven consecutive days or 8,500 encounters in one day.
The bill would also codify and continue the “catch and release&#8221; of illegal immigrants. &#8220;If passed into law, families and children would be released without supervision,&#8221; according to <a href="https://www.heritage.org/homeland-security/report/the-senate-border-bill-disaster-border-security">The Heritage Foundation</a>. It would also allow the Department of Homeland Security to expand parole authority to provide legal pathways for immigrants to take advantage of to enter the U.S. — a tool that the Biden-Harris administration has already taken advantage of to increase immigration.
