The House Judiciary Committee has launched an investigation into a far-left organization to see if it used federal funds to organize anti-ICE unrest in Los Angeles.
The committee announced its investigation into the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA), a far-left organization. A Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kamala-says-shell-enforce-border-laws-her-admin-gave-1-2-million-to-group-that-wants-to-end-them">investigation</a> last year revealed that CHIRLA had received federal funding under the Biden-Harris administration as it worked to “dismantle the U.S. immigration enforcement system” and pushed for mass illegal alien amnesty.
The House Judiciary Committee <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/06/24/us-news/house-judiciary-committee-opens-probe-into-chirlas-possible-role-in-la-riots/">explained</a> that it is concerned “that CHIRLA may be using federal funds to support violent criminal activity that impedes the enforcement of federal immigration law.”
The federal funds awarded to the far-left organization under the Biden-Harris administration were earmarked for “citizenship instruction and naturalization services” and “innovations in citizenship education.”
The letter requests that CHIRLA produce “all documents and communications” pertaining to the federal funds it received and specific information detailing how those funds were spent.
The organization is also being asked to turn over communications and documents “referring or relating to protests against ICE, DHS, Customs and Border Protection, enforcement of immigration laws, or the Trump Administration’s immigration policies.” The House Judiciary Committee gave CHIRLA a deadline of July 8th to comply with its requests.
A spokesman for CHIRLA said that the organization has not been involved in coordinating protests in Los Angeles, instead stating that the group “organized a press event” to speak out against the ICE raids and had “been sending legal observers to immigration courts and detention centers.”
“We have not participated, coordinated, or been part of the protests being registered in Los Angeles other than the press conference and rally,” the CHIRLA representative said.
While the House Judiciary Committee works to ascertain the extent of the organization’s involvement in the protests and unrest in Los Angeles, other leftwing groups have directly fueled the protest efforts, The Daily Wire previously revealed.

The Supreme Court paused an order from a lower court judge preventing the Trump administration from deporting illegal aliens to so-called “third countries&#8221; that are willing to accept aliens from other nations.
The 6-3 Supreme Court <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/supreme-court/supreme-court-allows-trump-deport-certain-immigrants-third-countries-rcna209419">ruling</a> is a victory for the Trump administration, which previously had to allow illegal aliens the opportunity to contest their deportation to nations other than their country of origin. The ruling gives the administration the ability to deport those whose nations of origin are unwilling to accept them, potentially paving the way for <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2025/06/23/supreme-court-immigrants-deport-torture-sudan/83885228007/">thousands</a> of deportations.
The decision comes after the Trump administration <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-deports-murderers-and-rapists-to-south-sudan-but-judge-might-order-their-return-to-u-s">deported</a> eight violent criminal illegal aliens, including Cuban and Vietnamese nationals, to South Sudan after the African nation agreed to accept them. The illegal aliens’ home nations were not willing to accept the criminals, whose crimes include homicide, kidnapping, and the sexual assault of children.
The deportation flight was quickly challenged in court, with one federal judge ruling that the Trump administration must maintain custody of the criminal illegal aliens in case their deportation to the African nation was found to be unlawful, also stating that illegal aliens must be given the opportunity to contest their removal to third countries.
The Trump administration called on the Supreme Court to weigh in on the case, while Solicitor General John Sauer asserted that the federal ruling exacerbated the illegal immigration crisis.
&#8220;The United States is facing a crisis of illegal immigration, in no small part because many aliens most deserving of removal are often the hardest to remove,&#8221; Sauer wrote in the appeal.

A federal judge ordered the release of the suspected MS-13 lionized by Democrats as a “Maryland man,” but now the Trump administration has appealed the decision and hinted that he could be recaptured and deported again if he is freed.
Kilmar Abrego Garcia, the illegal alien who was famously deported to his home country of El Salvador earlier this year, was brought back to the United States to stand trial in a human smuggling case in Tennessee after the Supreme Court ordered the Trump administration to facilitate his return to America.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Barbara Holmes has <a href="https://thehill.com/regulation/court-battles/5363529-judge-orders-release-abrego-garcia/">ordered</a> his release before his trial. “Overall, the Court cannot find from the evidence presented that Abrego’s release clearly and convincingly poses an irremediable danger to other persons or to the community,” Holmes <a href="https://apnews.com/article/abrego-garcia-deportation-error-c0a515baffdf54baba412edf4cdbd310">wrote</a> in her decision, which the Department of Justice swiftly appealed. A hearing on his release is scheduled for Wednesday.
But even if he is released, the Department of Homeland Security says he will not go free. “Kilmar Abrego Garcia is a dangerous criminal illegal alien,” Assistant DHS Secretary Tricia McLaughlin told The Daily Wire. &#8220;We have said it for months and it remains true to this day: he will never go free on American soil.&#8221;
Abrego Garcia could be captured by Immigration and Customs Enforcement and potentially deported once again, the DOJ noted in its appeal. “Defendant could face potential deportation from the United States in the near future should Judge Holmes’ impending release order remain in effect,” the DOJ document <a href="https://x.com/ProfMJCleveland/status/1936936300461928581/photo/2">asserts</a>.
The federal government accuses Abrego Garcia of smuggling hundreds of illegal aliens, including children and MS-13 gang members, throughout the United States. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/trump-admin-fights-deport-convicted-murderer-shielded-biden-era-torture-protection">arrested</a> Alexander Alfredo Palacios Guevara, an illegal alien, in Los Angeles, but the federal agency found that it might not have the authority to deport him back to El Salvador due to a Biden-era legal decision.
Guevara was granted a deportation protection order in December 2024 as the Biden administration was nearing an end after he claimed he was at risk of being tortured if he was returned to his homeland.
“A highly unusual Biden-era legal decision from December allowed this dangerous criminal to live in American communities,” an ICE spokesman <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/trump-admin-fights-deport-convicted-murderer-shielded-biden-era-torture-protection">told Fox News</a> before also laying out Guevara’s criminal history. “This criminal alien should never have been roaming the streets of Los Angeles. Not only is he a member of the ruthless Surenos gang, but he also has multiple convictions for murder, assault and rape or sexual abuse of a minor.”
Guevara, who was given a Deferral of Removal under the Convention Against Torture (CAT), was briefly released by ICE, though the law enforcement agency recaptured him just a day later due to the risk he poses to the public.
The criminal alien now sits in ICE custody as a legal battle that could decide Guevara’s fate makes its way to the Supreme Court.
The Trump administration <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-deports-murderers-and-rapists-to-south-sudan-but-judge-might-order-their-return-to-u-s">deported</a> several violent criminal illegal aliens, including Cuban and Vietnamese nationals, to South Sudan last month. The Major League Baseball franchise issued a statement denying claims from left-wing activists that it was allowing Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to use the stadium grounds.

The statement came as left-wing organizations shared images of what appear to be federal law enforcement vehicles on the stadium grounds and gathered for a protest out front of the park.
“Dozens of ICE vehicles posted up at Dodgers Stadium Gate E. Folks are suspecting that they may be bringing people here after conducting raids,” one left-wing group <a href="https://x.com/PplsCityCouncil/status/1935735659966103750">said</a> on social media, calling the federal law enforcement agents “fascist pigs.”
Local media similarly <a href="https://abc7.com/post/ice-agents-seen-staging-dodger-stadium-amid-reports-more-raids-la-county/16791028/">reported</a> that dozens of ICE agents had been seen staging on the stadium grounds before the Dodgers requested that they leave.
The same activist group shared videos online of leftist protesters gathering at one of the entrances to the park, with a row of Los Angeles Police Officers preventing them from entering the park. Some protesters <a href="https://x.com/bad_tenant/status/1935770513684807707">directed their ire</a> at the baseball franchise for allegedly cooperating with the federal law enforcement agents.

The majority of Americans say that Kilmar Abrego Garcia, the illegal alien infamously defended by Democrats as a “Maryland man,” is likely a member of the MS-13 criminal organization, a new poll says.
A whopping 62 percent of Americans believe that the illegal alien, who was deported to El Salvador earlier this year, is likely a member of the Salvadoran gang, a recent Harvard-Harris <a href="https://harvardharrispoll.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/HHP_June2025_KeyResults.pdf">poll</a> found. Just 38 percent of respondents to the poll said that Garcia should have been defended from deportation and 43 percent of Democrats said that he is likely part of the criminal gang.
Garcia’s case became a lightning rod for Democrats in Congress, who claimed that the illegal alien was a “Maryland man” who was mistakenly deported back to his home country of El Salvador.
Multiple courts previously found that Abrego Garcia has connections to MS-13, which the Trump administration designated as a foreign terror organization shortly after taking office.

A branch of the Democratic Party revealed the location of Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Los Angeles and organized protests at hotels housing the federal law enforcement agents, a Daily Wire investigation reveals.
Foothill Community Democrats doxxed the locations of federal law enforcement in multiple posts on Instagram. One post identified six Los Angeles hotels that are reportedly housing ICE agents and encouraged fellow Democrats to call the hotels to demand they kick ICE out.

Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin told The Daily Wire the department will prosecute those who dox ICE agents.
“These are thugs. We will prosecute those who dox ICE agents to the fullest extent of the law,” McLaughlin said. “These criminals are taking the side of vicious cartels and human traffickers. We won’t allow it in America.”
Another post from the Foothill Democrats explicitly called on people to protest at a hotel that was housing ICE, using the tagline “No Sleep for ICE.” It said the protest would continue “until the hotel makes them leave.”

One protest organized by the Democratic group at a hotel in Arcadia appeared to have the intended effect. After first advertising the protest to its followers, the Foothill Community Democrats&#8217; Instagram page made another post, this one reading “ICE is out of Arcadia Hilton!”
“We started this protest at 11am and community members kept showing up all day until it reached upwards of 50 dedicated people tonight,” the post read.

Foothill Community Democrats is officially affiliated with the Democratic Party. In order to become a member, one must <a href="https://secure.actblue.com/contribute/page/foothill-community-democrats-2">pay dues</a> through ActBlue, the fundraising arm of the Democratic Party.
“Membership dues fund our efforts to elect Democrats at the local, state, and federal levels and, most importantly, to the White House,” the organization <a href="https://www.foothillcommunitydemocrats.com/new-page">states</a>. The Foothill Community Democrats did not respond to a request for comment.
The group has held events in conjunction with high-profile Democrats, including California Governor Gavin Newsom.

The Democrats’ efforts to doxx ICE agents is one of the latest ways that leftwing agitators have attempted to hinder the operations of federal law enforcement.
The Daily Wire recently <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/leftwing-activist-network-distributes-riot-gear-to-los-angeles-anti-ice-agitators?author=Spencer+Lindquist&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=0&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Meet+The+Leftwing+Activist+Using+Social+Media+To+Funnel+Riot+Gear+To+Anti-ICE+Protests">revealed</a> that activists teamed up to raise funds for helmets, respirators, and gloves before distributing them to agitators on the “front lines” of the unrest against law enforcement in Los Angeles.

The activist behind the distribution of the supplies told one Instagram user that half-respirator masks — just like those that she purchased for the agitators — could be used to neutralize tear gas used by the police. She even shared one Instagram post with a guide on  “how to make it harder for cops to do their jobs.” The post recommended that activists pick up tear gas canisters and “return to owner,” or throw it back at the police.
The California Democratic Party and Democrat National Committee did not respond to requests for comment.

A network of leftwing agitators is distributing helmets, respirators, and other gear that appears intended for use in stand-offs with law enforcement to anti-ICE protesters on the &#8220;front lines&#8221; of the Los Angeles riots, a Daily Wire investigation has found.
Federal authorities have targeted individuals seen handing out gas masks and other riot gear to anti-ICE agitators, charging one with a felony that could land him in federal prison. The Daily Wire has been able to identify at least one other individual involved in a similar scheme, using social media to fundraise and distribute gear used to combat authorities.
One leftwing activist boasted on Instagram that she was able to “distribute over 100 pairs of work gloves, 50 helmets, and 500 masks at LA City Hall today!” adding that she also distributed &#8220;fire blankets, respirators, ponchos, and earplugs.” The woman, who goes by the username “Shaaaandraaaaahhh” on the social media platform, assured her audience in her post over the weekend that “I will restock and organize a pick-up date and time so that those of you on the FRONT LINES can get exactly what you need.”

She also posted a video of a shopping cart full of items that would be distributed to agitators, including what appear to be respirators. Then in the comments, she offered advice to one leftist who asked how they could best defend against tear gas. “What respirator mask do you recommend for combating tear gas?” one user with a pride flag profile picture asked.

“If you can afford it, a full on gas mask … but they’re heavy and cumbersome,” the activist said in response. “Otherwise a half-mask respirator. In an earlier post encouraging people to attend a “mass mobilization&#8221; action against ICE, she advertised the impending gear distribution, adding “Only grab gear if you are literally going out to the front lines TODAY.”

But the Instagram user, who has a history of anti-Israel activism, does not appear to be acting alone. She tagged multiple organizations in her posts, including “socaluprising” and “eastlaimagee” thanking them for helping her fundraise for the supplies. One group on Instagram, called “SuperFamilia_KC,” was credited by the activist “for bringing everyone together to raise funds for this important cause,” while another post said that the group “donated funds” to the effort.
The group’s Venmo account is attached to the name “Rosario Lopez Hernandez,&#8221; who appears to be heavily involved in leftist protest organizing. Lopez Hernandez was among the organizers who set up tents and formed an <a href="https://fixhomelessness.org/2024/far-left-activists-demand-county-give-housing-for-homeless-to-illegal-immigrant-encampment/">encampment</a> on a Washington State property owned by the City of Kent as she pushed the city to provide housing for illegal aliens. Lopez Hernandez demanded that the city house illegal aliens in a motel that was reserved for homeless American citizens.
She and her team of activists pulled the same stunt in Seattle, forming another encampment at a public park, again demanding housing for illegal aliens. Lopez Hernandez c<a href="https://x.com/choeshow/status/1775694491938324485">hased out</a> one reporter who entered the encampment. She was also <a href="https://mynorthwest.com/local/6-charged-with-trespassing-after-protest-at-seattle-city-council-meeting/3955500">charged with trespassing</a> at a Seattle City Council meeting, which she attended to again demand the city provide housing to illegal aliens.
The Venmo account’s history shows multiple people sending donations with phrases like “f*ck ICE” and “Ice melts under resistance.”
The activist behind the Instagram account also reposted a “non-violent guide” called “how to make it harder for cops to do their jobs,” which recommended activists pick up tear gas canisters and “return to owner,” or throw it back at the police.
“Make sure you’re wearing heat resistant gloves!” the post says, adding “cops have gas masks and threw it at you, so feel no shame and yeet that shit.”

Alejandro Theodoro Ornella, the first individual charged for distributing gear, was hit with Conspiracy to Commit Civil Disorder, U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli <a href="https://x.com/USAttyEssayli/status/1933158095833964798">announced</a> Thursday.
While other leftwing groups fundraise for and distribute respirators, helmets, and other material that could be used by rioters, Ornella now sits in federal custody and could face up to five years in prison if convicted. “We are moving quickly to identify and arrest those involved in organizing and/or supporting civil disorder in Los Angeles,” Essayli noted after the arrest.

ICE busted more than 100 illegal alien workers in a workplace raid at a Nebraska meat packing plant, drawing ire from protesters who pelted federal vehicles with rocks.
The federal law enforcement agency carried out the largest raid in the state since President Donald Trump took office at Omaha’s Glenn Valley Foods on Tuesday.
“U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and federal law enforcement partners, executed a federal search warrant at Glenn Valley Foods, today, based on an ongoing criminal investigation into the large-scale employment of aliens without authorization to work in the United States,” <a href="https://flatwaterfreepress.org/ice-raids-hit-omaha-meatpacking-plants/">ICE said</a>.

“The worksite enforcement operation is likely the largest to take place in Nebraska since the start of the current presidential administration, which has prioritized immigration enforcement efforts and strengthened focus on border security. The investigation is ongoing,” the federal law enforcement agency went on to say.
Left-wing protesters gathered at the packing plant as federal agents made the arrests, with some agitators even <a href="https://youtu.be/LbiaAs55tQU?si=VNSSwIaheIitJqCM">throwing rocks</a> at law enforcement vehicles and attempting to prevent them from leaving, <a href="https://youtu.be/KDtY5cW_mr4?si=3iHh3Z0ejtkLmNgU">blocking the street</a> and jumping on top of the cars.
One legal worker at the meat packing plant <a href="https://flatwaterfreepress.org/ice-raids-hit-omaha-meatpacking-plants/">told</a> local media that many of those arrested by federal authorities are from Guatemala and the Mexican state of Guerrero, located to the south of Mexico City.

The company’s CEO said that he attempted to authenticate the legal status of his employees through the E-Verify system, with a report <a href="https://x.com/AliBradleyTV/status/1932515745478459519">indicating</a> that the illegal aliens used fake documents or stole the identities of American citizens.
The Trump administration has cracked down on the employment of illegal aliens across the country. ICE <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ice-captures-over-three-dozen-illegal-aliens-in-workplace-raid">arrested</a> more than three dozen illegal aliens at a roofing company in Washington state near the Canadian border. An ICE spokesman said that the illegal aliens at the company “fraudulently represented their immigration status and submitted fraudulent documents.”
The federal agency carried out an enforcement operation at a bakery in southern Texas near the border in February, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ice-and-homeland-security-busts-8-illegal-aliens-and-the-business-owners-they-say-harbored-them">arresting</a> eight illegal aliens and the two business owners, who federal agents say knowingly harbored and employed the illegal aliens.
The administration announced in April that it had arrested <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trumps-ice-arrests-1000-illegal-workers-pushes-for-fines-on-businesses-using-illegal-labor">1,000 illegal workers</a> across the nation and proposed roughly $1 million in fines against businesses that employed illegal aliens. Homeland Security Investigations noted that it had subpoenaed the records of approximately 1,200 businesses as part of the agency’s sweeping investigation into illegal labor.

A commentator on CNN defended the anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles, claiming that California and the Southwest region of the United States once belonged to Mexico.
“It is almost 50 percent Hispanic. One organizer with Centro CSO appeared to call for violence against federal law enforcement while speaking to a crowd of leftwing agitators.
“They’re going to find out that we don’t play games out here,” the man, identified as Sammy Carrera, said, “We’re no longer going to be on the defense, we’re going to take the fight to them.”

Union del Barrio, an equally radical group, also joined the protests. The race-based organization calls America an “illegal settler nation” and fights against “European colonialism” and the “Anglo settler.”
The organization refers to the American Southwest as occupied Mexico and calls for international racial unity across the North and South American continents “to overturn all manifestations of colonial, imperialist, and neoliberal oppression” and reclaim the states won by the United States in its war with Mexico.

CNN Commentator Defends Rioters Waving Foreign Flags: ‘All Of The Southwest Is Mexico’

One of the groups organizing the anti-ICE protests in Los Angeles advocates for Mexico to reconquer much of the American Southwest, arguing that the United States is an illegitimate colonialist power.
Centro CSO, an organization that <a href="https://www.instagram.com/centrocso/?hl=en">pushes</a> for the Mexican people to have “self-determination” in America’s southwestern states, <a href="https://www.facebook.com/events/1420030845819289/?acontext=%7B%22event_action_history%22%3A%5B%7B%22surface%22%3A%22external_search_engine%22%7D%2C%7B%22mechanism%22%3A%22attachment%22%2C%22surface%22%3A%22newsfeed%22%7D%5D%2C%22ref_notif_type%22%3Anull%7D">recruited</a> its followers to join the Sunday protests as violence escalated against federal law enforcement. The group marched with a banner that read “Fight Trump,” and reposted an image of an ICE vehicle on social media, particularly flagging that car’s license plate.
The group&#8217;s rallying call is the flag of <a href="https://www.tshaonline.org/handbook/entries/aztlan#:~:text=Aztl%C3%A1n%2C%20the%20name%20of%20the,during%20the%201970s%20Chicano%20movement.">Aztlán</a>, a mythical homeland of the Aztecs in the southwestern United States, which was ruled by Mexico prior to the Mexican American War and the independence of Texas. The symbol has been used by Mexican nationalists who claim that America has no legitimate claim to states, including Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, and California.
An individual associated with the organization spoke at the rally and appeared to threaten violence against law enforcement. “They’re going to find out that we don’t play games out here,” Sammy Carrera said. “We’re no longer going to be on the defense, we’re going to take the fight to them,” he said of ICE agents in a <a href="https://www.instagram.com/reel/DKqJodkySY-/?igsh=d3NxdG1zdTdxb3My">video</a> that was posted by a communist organization.
Centro CSO was not the only group involved in organizing the anti-ICE protests, which began on Friday after the federal agency <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/gang-members-sex-offenders-and-more-heres-who-ice-actually-picked-up-during-la-raids">arrested</a> gang members and sex offenders, that argues the United States should be conquered by Mexico.

Another ethnic separatist group that <a href="https://www.facebook.com/udblosangeles/videos/uni%C3%B3n-del-barrio-and-community-self-defense-coalition-of-la-emergency-presa-conf/1799740457307503/">joined</a> the protest effort is Unión del Barrio, which <a href="https://uniondelbarrio.org/main/4-2/struggle/border-violence-migration/">calls</a> the United States an “illegal settler nation” and agitates on behalf of “<a href="https://uniondelbarrio.org/eng/">la raza</a>,” or, the race.
The “revolutionary” organization similarly <a href="https://uniondelbarrio.org/main/4-2/about-udb/political-program/who-we-are/i-from-alaska-to-chile-we-are-one-people-without-borders/">invokes the myth</a> of Aztlán, also referring to the American southwest as occupied Mexico. Unión del Barrio considers itself an international racial organization that <a href="https://uniondelbarrio.org/main/4-2/about-udb/political-program/who-we-are/ii-this-is-nuestra-america-we-are-indigenous-nations/">fights against</a> “European colonialism&#8221; and the “Anglo settler.”
“We hold that the struggle of La Raza in Aztlan/México Ocupado is historically and geographically defined as an indigenous and Mexicano anti-colonial fight for land and socialism,” the group says. Unión del Barrio calls for international racial unity to overthrow “European colonialism” and “neocolonialists” among the “United States white nationalist population.”
“The principled unification of our forces throughout Nuestra América will be necessary to overturn all manifestations of colonial, imperialist, and neoliberal oppression,” it goes on to say.
One of the organization’s <a href="https://www.democracynow.org/2025/6/9/los_angeles_protests_immigration_ice_raids?jwsource=cl">community organizers</a> is Ron Gochez, a teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District, who charged that “frail racist white people” want to keep Hispanics out of the United States.

The efforts of the two extreme organizations were bolstered by the <a href="https://www.instagram.com/communityselfdefensecoalition/?hl=en">Community Self Defense Coalition</a>, which <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DKqVkcVx5jS/?igsh=bmwxMGtlOWltdHd6">gave out</a> helmets, respirators, goggles, and masks to protesters. Large groups of protesters refused to disperse as police used tear gas and other non-lethal devices to break up illegal gatherings.

The organization takes to social media to broadcast the location of ICE agents and works with Unión del Barrio to create and disseminate a <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DIR-96WTX7r/?igsh=bjJ4OHpzc2hycGIx">guide</a> on how to identify the vehicles used by ICE.
The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights, which The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kamala-says-shell-enforce-border-laws-her-admin-gave-1-2-million-to-group-that-wants-to-end-them">reported</a> received funding from the Department of Homeland Security under the Biden administration, was also <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/06/08/us-news/some-la-migrant-protests-fueled-by-taxpayer-funded-group-with-dem-ties-another-with-ccp-link/">involved</a> in the Los Angeles protests. The Trump administration froze funding to the group, which worked to “dismantle the U.S. immigration enforcement system” all while it raked in millions of dollars from the Biden administration.
Marxist organizations also joined in the protests against ICE. The protests were <a href="https://www.facebook.com/RefuseFascismLA/">advertised</a> by Refuse Fascism Los Angeles, a far-left organization that hands out propaganda created by the RevCom, the Revolutionary Communist Party. The two groups <a href="https://revcom.us/en/refuse-fascism-emergency-assembliesorganize-strategize-mobilize-demand-trump-fascist-regime-must-go">collaborate</a> as they agitate against what they call the “Trump fascist regime.” The Revolutionary Communist Party advocates for “world revolution and the ultimate aim of communism.”
The Party for Socialism and Liberation, another <a href="https://pslweb.org/program/">Marxist organization</a>, also encouraged people to “<a href="https://x.com/pslnational/status/1931763397441298929">take to the streets</a>” to protest in Los Angeles and <a href="https://x.com/pslnational/status/1931153408326861006">join</a> the march.

There are more than 1,000 jurisdictions across the United States that refuse to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement, a new study indicates, marking a drastic surge over the past several years.
The number of sanctuary jurisdictions have nearly doubled since 2018, with a total of 1,003 jurisdictions obstructing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as it attempts to enforce federal immigration law, the <a href="https://www.fairus.org/issue/sanctuary-jurisdictions-across-us">report</a> from the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) found.
That figure, FAIR says, includes Washington, D.C., and 17 states that have state-wide illegal alien sanctuary policies.
“What started as a small movement has since been expanded by open-border advocates, resulting in a widespread trend that undermines federal immigration law and threatens national security,” FAIR pointed out in its report, also noting that sanctuary policies “pose a serious threat to the safety and security of the American people” and “conflict with federal law.”

&#8220;Our findings reveal that, prior to 2000, only 11 jurisdictions had adopted sanctuary policies. By 2009, that number had grown to 40,” FAIR says as it charts the growth in its report. “In 2016, it had surged to over 300, and by 2018, FAIR identified 564 jurisdictions as noncooperative.”
These jurisdictions impede federal immigration enforcement through a variety of different policies, including by barring jails from complying with ICE detainer requests, prohibiting law enforcement from asking about the immigration status of suspects, and denying federal immigration enforcement officers access to jails and prisons.

Policies that seek to shield illegal aliens from federal law, FAIR says, violate the Constitution, which gives Congress authority over immigration and states that federal law wins out against conflicting state laws.

Some states have even offered deportation defense to illegal aliens in removal proceedings. While an Egyptian illegal alien was plotting a firebombing terrorist attack in Boulder, Colorado, Democrat lawmakers in the state were passing an <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/weeks-before-illegal-alien-terror-attack-colorado-dems-passed-law-shielding-illegals-from-ice?author=Spencer+Lindquist&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=6&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Weeks+Before+Illegal+Alien+Terror+Attack%2C+Colorado+Dems+Passed+Law+Shielding+Illegals+From+ICE">immigration law</a> that not only prevents local governments from sharing immigration data with federal authorities, but even fines violators and dedicates the money to a state-run deportation defense fund.
FAIR points out that other states, including Arizona, Tennessee, Texas, West Virginia, and the Dakotas, have taken action to prevent their jurisdictions from adopting illegal alien sanctuary policies. In total, FAIR says, “22 states have banned sanctuary policies, encouraging or even requiring local law enforcement officers and other officials to cooperate with federal immigration officials.”
Only three states, West Virginia, Arkansas, and Montana, “have succeeded in eradicating sanctuary jurisdictions within their borders,” FAIR notes, warning that local jurisdictions in the other states often defy anti-sanctuary policies. The organization specifically pointed to Georgia, North Carolina, and Iowa as states with defiant localities that are insistent on shielding illegal aliens from immigration law, calling on them to “do more to ensure that their anti-sanctuary laws are enforced to protect public safety and uphold the rule of law.”
