The BBC has reported that Hamas is expected to reject President Donald Trump’s 20-point peace proposal designed to end the war in Gaza and secure the release of 48 Israeli hostages. According to a senior Hamas official quoted by the BBC, the plan “serves Israel’s interests” while blatantly “ignoring those of the Palestinian people,” the Jerusalem Post <a href="https://www.jpost.com/middle-east/article-869173">reported</a>.
The terror group also reportedly made clear its opposition to two key conditions in Trump’s plan: disarmament and the deployment of an international stabilization force inside Gaza. Hamas will reportedly not surrender its weapons, nor will it tolerate what it sees as foreign occupation under the guise of peacekeeping.
This reported rejection by Hamas contradicts a <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-gaza-plan-israel-hamas-ceasefire-proposal-reaction-expected/">CBS News report</a> from the day before, which suggested the group and other Palestinian factions were warming to the proposal and considering it &#8220;responsibly.&#8221; While Hamas has yet to issue a formal reply, the conflicting signals expose a pattern: public posturing, private evasion.
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with Trump at the White House on Monday and agreed to the plan. “If Hamas rejects the deal, which is always possible—they’re the only ones left—then Israel would have my full backing to finish the job of destroying Hamas,” Trump declared. &#8220;But I have a feeling we’re going to have a positive answer.&#8221;

But Mahmoud Mardawi, a senior Hamas leader, crushed those hopes with a categorical denunciation of the plan, calling it a “one-sided proposal” designed to “entrench occupation” and delegitimize the Palestinian struggle. In remarks reported by <a href="https://ilkha.com/english/world/hamas-rejects-trump-peace-plan-affirms-right-of-palestinian-self-determination-482268?utm_source=chatgpt.com">Ilkha.com,</a> Mardawi claimed the plan was never even shared with Hamas or other Palestinian factions, highlighting its alleged illegitimacy.
“This plan aligns with the goals of the Zionist occupation and offers no genuine solutions for our people,” he blustered, labeling the proposal vague and devoid of guarantees for Palestinian rights. Mardawi insisted Hamas would only accept a plan that protected Palestinian sovereignty, explicitly defending armed resistance as a &#8220;legitimate&#8221; method of liberation.
But behind the rhetoric of victimhood and resistance lies a darker truth. Israel Hayom <a href="https://www.israelhayom.com/2024/09/06/hamas-secret-playbook-sinwars-psychological-warfare-exposed/">reported</a> in September 2024 that confidential documents recovered by the IDF and believed to be from the computer of Yahya Sinwar, Hamas’s top commander in Gaza, exposed the terror group’s chilling manipulation of hostages, media, and peace negotiations.
According to the report, the document—initially revealed by Germany’s Bild—was drafted in spring 2024 and provided a window into Hamas’ ruthless priorities. Nowhere in the text are Palestinian civilian casualties mentioned. Instead, it detailed strategies to “exhaust” Israel’s political and military resources while prolonging negotiations to rebuild Hamas’ crippled military power.
Far from striving for peace, the document instructed Hamas to apply psychological pressure on the families of Israeli hostages, including during ceasefires. Hamas propaganda videos that showed hostages pleading for their lives align precisely with these instructions.
According to the document, Hamas planned to exploit ceasefire periods by allowing the Red Cross limited access to hostages—not as a humanitarian gesture, but to manipulate the emotional state of families and extend temporary truces, regardless of compliance with agreements. The document also proposed bringing in Arab military forces to act as a buffer while Hamas secretly re-armed for future attacks.
Hamas’ relentless deception has involved ignoring the suffering of Gazans, using hostages as bargaining chips, and ceasefires as camouflage for regrouping.

Topline: A busy day for lawmakers on Tuesday as the time ticked away for a government shutdown – while President Trump and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth held an unprecedented event attended by the U.S. military’s top commanders. 
Washington’s shutdown showdown: Lawmakers haggled until the last moment on funding for the federal government, but were unsuccessful. About a day ahead of the deadline, The New York Times and Siena College released a poll that had some worrying signs for Democrats. According to the <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/09/30/polls/trump-approval-poll.html">poll</a>, two-thirds of Americans say that Democrats should not force a government shutdown. 
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) later called the poll “biased,” drawing a laugh from assembled senators.
President Trump attempted to bring Democrats to the table on Tuesday by reminding them that during a shutdown, he has considerable authority to reshape the government. “The last person who wants it shut down is us. Now, with that being said, we can do things during the shutdown that are irreversible, that are bad for them and irreversible by them, like cutting vast numbers of people out and cutting programs that they like,” <a href="https://x.com/cspan/status/1973069236995035285">said</a> Trump.
Schumer <a href="https://youtu.be/CmrOihzVDo8?t=43">interpreted</a> the threat as Trump owning the shutdown: “Democrats do not want a shutdown. We stand ready to work with Republicans to find a bipartisan compromise. The ball is in their court. When he says he will do things, he is taking ownership.”
Over in Quantico: Trump and Hegseth delivered two speeches to essentially every top commander in the U.S. military. The speeches lasted approximately two and a half hours.
The War Secretary reiterated the priorities he has often pushed as the head of the military: cutting social engineering and restoring what he calls the warrior ethos. 
“No more identity months. DEI offices, dudes in dresses. No more climate change worship. No more division, distraction, or gender delusions. No more debris, as I&#8217;ve said before, and we&#8217;ll say again. We are done with that s***,” <a href="https://youtu.be/YSkNiVVTm-Y?t=1216">said</a> Hegseth.
To build the military into what he said it should be, Hegseth offered a test to each military leader: Would you allow your own child to serve in the military as it’s currently structured? Unless the answer is an unqualified yes, then there are more changes to be made.
“This means at the War Department, first and foremost, we must restore a ruthless, dispassionate, and common-sense application of standards,” <a href="https://youtu.be/YSkNiVVTm-Y?t=1381">said</a> Hegseth. “I don&#8217;t want my son serving alongside troops who are outta shape or in combat unit with females who can&#8217;t meet the same combat arms, physical standards as men.”
Trump: The president’s speech was more like a military-focused campaign speech. He touted how, under his administration, the military has crushed recruitment goals and how the United States is leading China and Russia in military advances.
“My message to you is very simple. I am with you. I support you. And as president, I have your backs 100%. You’ll never see me waver even a little bit. That’s the way it is,” Trump <a href="https://youtu.be/YSkNiVVTm-Y?t=5312">told</a> assembled commanders.

Topline: President Trump has promised a new era of lower drug prices for Americans with the launch of TrumpRX and a historic deal with Pfizer.
TrumpRX is going to be a new government website that will allow Americans to purchase medications directly at discounted prices. The site will feature reductions of up to 85% of the net price.
Pfizer: Pfizer is one of the largest pharmaceutical and biotechnology corporations in the world. It has agreed to set all their medications for Medicaid at “most favored nation” pricing, or pricing that is comparable to or less than the cost of other developed nations’ drug prices. Additionally, all new Pfizer medications will be offered at these lower prices.
Pfizer will also invest $70 billion in research and development, as well as United States manufacturing, by 2030. Trump has long said that he wants drugs made in the United States to bring back jobs, but also for national security.
More to come?: Trump indicated on Monday that more deals are coming, and he is offering incentives to boost that participation. However, if a company refuses to comply, he said he will use tariffs and other mechanisms to obtain lower drug prices for Americans.
“Eli Lilly has been fantastic,” <a href="https://www.facebook.com/watch/live/?ref=watch_permalink&amp;v=2284710728656259">said</a> Trump. “We&#8217;re making deals with all of them. And I said if we don&#8217;t make a deal, then we&#8217;re going to tariff them an extra five, six, seven, eight percent. … Nobody wants to play that game.”
Step back: Americans pay, on average, about 422% more for brand-name drugs than other comparable nations. Trump said months ago that this is a form of “global freeloading,” where Americans underwrite all research and development costs that turn out most medical advances that benefit the world. He launched these “most favored nation” policies so R&amp;D costs are distributed to other developed nations, as well – nations like France, Germany, and the U.K.
The goal is that this will lower drug prices for Americans, while these companies maintain their margins, and therefore, R&amp;D funding and medical advances do not suffer.
<h2 style="text-align: center;">Trump Puts Hamas On The Clock </h2>

Topline: President Trump presented what could be a game-changing Gaza peace deal this week, which has won support from Israel as well as many Arab leaders. Now, Trump has given Hamas a deadline to get on board or face a “very sad end.”
Expert opines: Victoria Coates, the vice president of The Heritage Foundation’s Kathryn and Shelby Cullom Davis Institute for National Security and Foreign Policy, on the president’s 20-point plan for peace in the Middle East: “The key clause is probably the first one, which says that Hamas has to disarm and agree to this plan. But unlike the ‘Peace to Prosperity Plan’ that the president unveiled with Prime Minister Netanyahu in January of 2020, this one is being overtly and aggressively supported by partners in the Middle East. We have countries like Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, UAE, but also large Muslim majority countries like Pakistan, Indonesia, putting out statements saying, ‘yes, this is the way, this is the plan, this is a good faith effort.’ And so it all comes down to Hamas. Israel has accepted, the rest of the region has accepted, and the question is whether Hamas will accept.”
Coates on the Palestinian Authority’s stance on the plan: “[Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas] came out and said he was happy that this had happened, that he wanted to look at it, but that he thought it was a productive step. That is 180 degrees from where he was five years ago. … There is very strong reforms for the Palestinian Authority in there that they have to undertake before they get any kind of governing responsibility in Gaza. So, they&#8217;re going to have a lot of work in front of them, as well. And for him to be hopeful about it suggests that, maybe more broadly among the Palestinian people, there is support for this kind of resolution.”
Coates on Hamas’ willingness to accept: “It all depends on what condition Hamas finds itself in today. If they are really down to their last fighters, if they are out of rockets … they may be looking for survival. This does give them that path. It says that if you wish to disarm and embrace a life of amnesty, that you can stay. And if you wish to leave, you will be given safe passage to third countries. They may see this as their last ticket out.”
Coates on how the deal will be enforced: “There are going to be benchmarks Hamas has to meet repeatedly throughout this process or else Israel goes right back in. The president expressed full-throated support for Israel&#8217;s right if Hamas does not keep their side of the bargain to do what they have to do to secure the strip. Now, that&#8217;s not going to be pretty. Prime Minister Netanyahu called it ‘the hard way.’ He said he would much rather do it the easy way. I think we all would – especially for the Palestinians living there – this is the way for them to get to a more secure and prosperous future. President Trump believes in that. He wants it to happen. And he&#8217;s the one who can lead the way there.”

President Trump totally broke open the war in Gaza and perhaps put together a workable peace plan.
President Trump has received an inordinate amount of hatred for actually being good at foreign policy. Perhaps the best thing about President Trump&#8217;s first term was his foreign policy. He has always been heterodox in his foreign policy views, and that heterodoxy has actually served him quite well, particularly in the Middle East.
He didn&#8217;t get the credit he deserved over the Abraham Accords. He has not received the credit that he deserves for his continuing support of Israel in the face of genocidal hatred and terrorism from Hamas.
And now he has somehow drawn a fascinating path to peace in the Gaza Strip.
On Monday, Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met for a long time before actually going out and doing a full press conference where they unveiled President Trump&#8217;s peace plan, which has been signed on to by Israel, the United States, Qatar, all of the regional players, and by the Europeans, which is an amazing achievement for the president.
Let’s be clear: Hamas has not accepted this deal yet, but the deal totally changes the game.
Why?
Because if everybody is on the same page but Hamas, that means that Hamas is totally isolated. And Hamas has relied on the kindness of strangers. Hamas has relied for this entire war on having the public relations of Qatar on its side, of having other countries in the Middle East on its side, and of having the Europeans on its side.
Just a week ago, we were talking about how the Europeans were moving steadily and not so gradually toward declaring a Palestinian state in the aftermath of the worst terror attack on Israel in its history and the worst attack on Jews since World War II. That is how badly things were going for Israel in the PR war.
That was because there is a strong drive among the “suicidally empathetic” — as the philosopher Gad Saad has said — in Europe to side with the people who wish to destroy Western civilization.
But now President Trump has now done something incredible. He has put together a deal that is workable, a deal that has now been signed off by the Israelis and from everybody else in the region. Even the Europeans have signed off on it.
Whenever you hear that a deal has been signed off on by everyone, the inclination is to say that it is a weak deal. That&#8217;s just the reality. And indeed, when you read the deal, you could find points where certainly quibbles would be necessary.

But overall, what President Trump has done here is to achieve the strategic goals of the West. He has allowed Israel to achieve its strategic goals in Gaza if Hamas were to accept this deal while allowing for a path forward.
Some points regarding the deal:
<blockquote>“Gaza will be a deradicalized terror-free zone that does not pose a threat to its neighbors.”</blockquote>
That’s more of a goal than it is an actual plan. Whether that goal is achieved depends on whether the rest of the plan is actually achieved.
<blockquote>“Within 72 hours of Israel publicly accepting this agreement, all hostages, alive and deceased, will be returned.”</blockquote>
That is to prevent Hamas from basically dragging out this process. If we get to 73 hours and Hamas has not handed over hostages, Israel will have every right and capacity to go back in.
<blockquote>“Once all hostages are released, Israel will release 250 life sentence prisoners plus 1,700 Gazans who were detained after 7 October 2023, including all women and children detained in that context. For every Israeli hostage whose remains are released, Israel will release the remains of 15 deceased Gazans.” </blockquote>
This sort of math makes me insane. It has always made me insane. It is ridiculous for any Western country to trade live terrorists for hostages.
<blockquote>“Entry of distribution and aid in the Gaza Strip will proceed without interference from the two parties through the United Nations and its agencies, and the Red Crescent, in addition to other international institutions not associated in any manner with either party. Opening the Rafah crossing in both directions will be subject to the same mechanism implemented under the 19 January 2025 agreement.”</blockquote>
This should be a sticking point. Israel is giving a lot on this. The United Nations has been and will continue to be a tool for terrorism. It always has been. It will continue to be.
<blockquote>“Gaza will be governed under the temporary transitional governance of a technocratic, apolitical Palestinian committee, responsible for delivering the day-to-day running of public services and municipalities for the people in Gaza. This committee will be made up of qualified Palestinians and international experts, with oversight and supervision by a new international transitional body, the ‘Board of Peace,’ which will be headed and chaired by President Donald J. Trump, with other members and heads of state to be announced, including Former Prime Minister Tony Blair.”</blockquote>
This is Israel&#8217;s guarantee against the possibility that Hamas immediately reconstitutes and that the aid that flows in is somehow handed over directly to a reconstituted Hamas by another name. In reality, it&#8217;ll have to be run by Tony Blair with input from the United States, because the reality is that there are not a whole hell of a lot of “Palestinian moderates.”
And this brings us to the question of the Palestinian Authority.
According to the Trump plan:
<blockquote>“This body will set the framework and handle the funding for the redevelopment of Gaza until such time as the Palestinian Authority has completed its reform program, as outlined in various proposals, including President Trump&#8217;s peace plan in 2020 and the Saudi-French proposal, and can securely and effectively take back control of Gaza. This body will call on best international standards to create modern and efficient governance that serves the people of Gaza and is conducive to attracting investment.”</blockquote>
Let&#8217;s be real about that. It&#8217;s never going to happen. The Palestinian Authority is corrupt top to bottom. Every Arab and Jew in the region knows this. This is not a secret. The reality is the Palestinian Authority is wildly unpopular in Judea and Samaria, thanks to its incredible levels of corruption, thanks to the fact its leadership bilks the population and aid agencies out of literally billions of dollars.
The PA is never going to end up governing Gaza. They can&#8217;t even govern cities in Judea and Samaria, in Nablus and Jenin. They&#8217;re not going to govern any of these areas. So this is a pipe dream. Presumably, that pipe dream is put out there for the pleasure of various Arab nations who are signing on to President Trump&#8217;s agreement here.

Trump’s plan is going to be dependent on decent governance. Unfortunately, it is just a fact that the vast majority of Palestinians support terrorism. There is zero, literally zero evidence that Palestinians overall do not support terrorism. Every single Palestinian poll statistic ever taken shows a vast bulk of Palestinian Arabs supporting terrorism against Jews and the destruction of the State of Israel.
<blockquote>“Hamas and other factions agree not to have any role in the governance of Gaza directly, indirectly or in any form. All military terror and offensive infrastructure, including tunnels and weapon production facilities, will be destroyed and not rebuilt. There will be a process of demilitarization of Gaza under the supervision of independent monitors, which will include placing weapons permanently beyond use through an agreed process of decommissioning, and supported by an internationally funded buy back and reintegration program all verified by the independent monitors.”</blockquote>
Why would Hamas accept the deal if they&#8217;re going to have no governance power in the Gaza Strip? Why would they give up the hostages?
Because if they have no hope, if it turns out that even their terror masters in Qatar aren’t behind them &#8230; But let&#8217;s be clear: Qatar plays both sides of the table. They always have. Qatar could have put pressure on Hamas to give up the hostages. On October 8, they could have.
Qatar did not do that. Instead, Qatar sponsored Hamas. Qatar apparently has joined in on the process of isolating Hamas. That is the only reason why this has happened and it is worthwhile noting the reason that Qatar did that, at least in part, is because they are quite concerned that if this war continues, Israel might say, you know what? It’s not worth it anymore. They go into Qatar and they kill Hamas members in Qatar.
And Qatar does not wish to be in the crossfire at this point. So that unsuccessful strike that Israel launched directly into Qatar to kill Hamas&#8217;s leadership may have been tactically unsuccessful, but it was strategically successful in putting pressure on Qatar to join the international consortium dedicated to ending Hamas rule over the Gaza Strip.
That would be the only reason why Hamas would give up the ghost here.

What&#8217;s important there is that this international stabilization force will not be a nontransparent force. It will have coordination, including Israel. Israel is simply not going to give up all eyes on the ground and trust the Egyptians and Jordanians, all of whom have been acting, by the way, in tacit consultation with Hamas throughout this conflict.

Notice what that isn&#8217;t. That is not a recognition of a Palestinian state. That is not even a recognition of a real pathway toward a Palestinian state. It is a recognition that if gigantic changes happen on the ground and the Palestinian Authority somehow moderates and somehow does all of the reform, and that if all of these hurdles are jumped, then maybe at some point there&#8217;s a pathway to a Palestinian state.
What this doesn&#8217;t do is say there must be a Palestinian state in order for there to be a settlement in Gaza.
The Trump administration is making no bones about that. And now neither is the international community.

The White House released a plan on Monday that could establish “eternal peace in the Middle East” by ending the war in Gaza and creating a pathway for Palestinian statehood.
The plan contains 20 points, one less than an initial framework proposed by the United States and passed around by diplomats and world leaders. President Donald Trump announced the plan on Monday in a White House event alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The 20-point plan begins with the plan for Gaza in the days following the war and ends with the hope for future Israeli-Palestinian relations.
“Gaza will be a deradicalized terror-free zone that does not pose a threat to its neighbors. Gaza will be redeveloped for the benefit of the people of Gaza, who have suffered more than enough,” the first two points of the plan state.
“The United States will establish a dialogue between Israel and the Palestinians to agree on a political horizon for peaceful and prosperous co-existence,” the plan concludes.
In between are 17 points largely outlining the steps to begin transitioning Gaza from a warzone to a self-governing entity, starting with a ceasefire once both Hamas and Israel agree to the framework. Once both sides agree, aid will begin to flow into the strip, including rebuilding hospitals, bakeries, roads, and other key pieces of infrastructure.
The Israeli military will cease its advance through Gaza City and withdraw to a predetermined line while Hamas must return all hostages, living and dead, to Israel within 72 hours. In return, Israel “will release 250 life sentence prisoners plus 1700 Gazans who were detained after October 7th 2023, including all women and children detained in that context. For every Israeli hostage whose remains are released, Israel will release the remains of 15 deceased Gazans,” the proposal says.
The hostage exchange, while massively biased in favor of Hamas and Gaza, is not out of step with past prisoner swaps Israel has struck with Palestinians.

Members of Hamas who agree to disarm and commit to “peaceful co-existence” will be given amnesty and may live in Gaza, or they will be given safe passage elsewhere.
Under the ceasefire agreement, Gaza will be administered by “qualified Palestinians and international experts” under oversight from the “Board of Peace,” an international body chaired by the United States president.
“No one will be forced to leave Gaza, and those who wish to leave will be free to do so and free to return. We will encourage people to stay and offer them the opportunity to build a better Gaza,” point 12 states.
No terror group may be involved in administering Gaza. All of Hamas’ terror infrastructure, including its vast web of tunnels and weapons facilities, will be destroyed alongside the military sites of all other terror groups operating within the Gaza Strip. Israel will agree to neither occupy nor annex Gaza.
“New Gaza poses no threat to its neighbors or its people,” the framework says. Toward that end, an “interfaith dialogue process will be established based on the values of tolerance and peaceful co-existence to try and change mindsets and narratives of Palestinians and Israelis by emphasizing the benefits that can be derived from peace.”

Before President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met at the White House on Monday to discuss Trump’s plan to end the Israel-Hamas war, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) made plain what many in the conservative movement already believe: Israel must be allowed to finish the job against terrorist forces that seek its annihilation.
Responding on X to an Axios report that President Trump planned to “squeeze” Netanyahu into a Gaza peace deal, Graham cut straight to the point: “When it comes to terrorist threats, Israel must be allowed to defend itself and finish the job. While I strongly support trying to end major military operations in Gaza and moving toward a new Middle East, it is imperative that this is accomplished in the right way. I do not support ending major military operations if it means that Hamas is not eliminated forever and does not ensure that there will never be another October 7. From my point of view, Israel is not the problem; It is Iran and its proxies that are the problem.”

In Congressional hearings, he has blasted U.S. officials for withholding weapons from Israel at a moment of peril, framing the issue in stark historical terms — civilian losses in wartime are tragic, but sometimes unavoidable when destroying a mortal enemy. In April 2024, Graham <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/this-is-obscene-lindsey-graham-unloads-on-secdef-after-u-s-withholds-aid-to-israel?utm_source=chatgpt.com">excoriated</a> Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin over delayed munitions shipments to Israel, arguing that restraining Israel’s ability to remove threats would send the wrong signal to Tehran and its proxies. Ahead of a Monday meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Donald Trump said he thinks there is a “really good chance for peace in the Middle East.” 
Trump is set to meet with Netanyahu at 11:00 a.m. ET at the White House before holding a joint press conference later in the afternoon. In the days before the meeting, Trump expressed optimism about negotiating a deal to end the war in Gaza and secure the release of hostages held by Hamas.
&#8220;We’re doing very well. It looks like there is a really good chance for peace in the Middle East,&#8221; Trump <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/world/middle-east/trump-talks-netanyahu-gaza-peace-deal-israel-hamas-war-hostages-rcna234370">told</a> NBC on Sunday. &#8220;Everybody is on board. Everybody.”

Speaking on Fox News Sunday, Vice President JD Vance <a href="https://x.com/RapidResponse47/status/1972294333861970197">told</a> host Martha MacCallum there was a series of very complicated ongoing discussions between the Trump administration, Israel, and Arab leaders. He said he was &#8220;cautiously hopeful&#8221; that a deal could be reached. 
“I think the president’s optimism is warranted here. I feel more optimistic about where we are right now than where we have been at any point in the last few months,” he <a href="https://x.com/RapidResponse47/status/1972294333861970197">said</a>. “Our principle here is very simple: we want all the hostages to come home, we want Hamas to no longer be a terror threat to the state of Israel, and we also want to bring the humanitarian aid in Gaza for the many innocent people caught up in the conflict. I think we are close to accomplishing all three objectives.” 
Negotiations from the Trump administration are being headed up by Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff. 
Speaking at the United Nations last week, Trump said he was “deeply engaged” in seeking a ceasefire in Gaza. Trump tore into nations that have sought recognition of a Palestinian state.
“The rewards would be too great for Hamas terrorists for their atrocities,&#8221; Trump said. “Instead of giving in to Hamas’s ransom demands, those who want peace should be united with one message: release the hostages now.” 
About 50 hostages taken from Israel on October 7 remain in Hamas captivity, though only 20 are believed to still be alive.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio rejected outright the notion of a Palestinian state, saying that there could never be such a thing without a negotiation involving Israel and an end to the war between Israel and the Iran-backed terror group Hamas.

On Sunday, Hamas — classified as a terrorist organization by the United States and European Union — brazenly carried out public executions in central Gaza City. The three men, accused of “collaborating with Israel,” were blindfolded, hands tied, and forced to kneel before being kicked to the ground and shot in the head while a mob chanted in support of Hamas’ military wing. As the blood dried on the pavement, Prime Minister Albanese defended his government’s recognition of a Palestinian state led by Hamas, calling it a step to “end the cycle of violence.” Let that sink in: the same day a Western government rewards a terrorist regime with statehood, that regime celebrates by executing unarmed men in the street like animals — with children watching.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rightly <a href="https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/huge-reward-terrorism-netanyahu-lashes-165341367.html">called the move</a> a “huge reward” for terrorism.
This wasn’t an isolated act of savagery. Hamas has a long and bloody record of executing Palestinians — many of them fellow Muslims — on thin accusations of “collaboration.” In 2014, during the Gaza conflict, Hamas <a href="https://www.amnestyusa.org/reports/strangling-necks-abduction-torture-and-summary-killings-of-palestinians-by-hamas-forces-during-the-2014-gazaisrael-conflict/?utm_source=chatgpt.com">tortured and killed </a>at least 23 Palestinians, some in the streets, some dragged from prisons and shot without trial. In 2017, three men were <a href="https://www.france24.com/en/middle-east/20220904-gaza-s-hamas-executes-five-palestinians-including-two-for-collaboration?utm_source=chatgpt.com">publicly executed</a> in front of hundreds for allegedly helping Israel kill a Hamas commander. In 2022, five Palestinians were <a href="https://www.france24.com/en/middle-east/20220904-gaza-s-hamas-executes-five-palestinians-including-two-for-collaboration?utm_source=chatgpt.com">executed</a>, two for “collaboration,” three for “criminal cases” — though what Hamas considers “criminal” often amounts to opposition or dissent.
And yet, Australia, Canada, and the UK have decided now is the time to hand the Palestinian leadership the ultimate political legitimacy — statehood.
This is the same Hamas whose so-called “judicial system” includes military tribunals, secret detentions, and zero due process. Victims are regularly tortured, confessions are coerced, and executions often carried out in secret — unless, of course, they’re being used for public spectacle and fearmongering.
Meanwhile, leftist governments in the West, desperate to virtue-signal their moral superiority and commitment to “peace,” hand international legitimacy to a terrorist cabal that proudly executes its own people without trial and boasts about it online.
Albanese’s defense? He wants a ceasefire. He wants peace.
Hamas doesn’t want peace. It wants power through terror.
And now it has statehood recognition handed to it on a silver platter by Western leaders too blinded by ideology to see blood on their own hands.

Topline: Whistleblower documents reveal that during the Biden administration, the FBI secretly targeted Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point USA and other conservative groups.
The investigation targeted not just President Trump, then candidate Trump, but a wide range of conservative groups – including TPUSA. Known as Arctic Frost, the FBI investigation began in April 2022 under the direction of then-Director Christopher Wray. It ensnared 92 Republican-linked entities, from the Republican National Committee to state attorneys general associations.
The aim: The stated objective was to examine what the FBI described as a &#8220;multifaceted conspiracy&#8221; to keep Donald Trump in power after the 2020 election. This included investigating false claims of election fraud and filing lawsuits to challenge the election results. Documents show that the probe also focused on financial aspects, including post-election fundraising that allegedly misled donors about overturning the election results, as well as ties to the January 6 Capitol riot.
But whistleblowers told Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) that the probe expanded far beyond the 2020 election. In November 2022, the probe was handed over to Special Counsel Jack Smith and involved coordination with not only the FBI and DOJ, but also the National Archives, the U.S. Postal Service, and other agencies.
The scale: More than 150 interviews conducted, more than 400 subpoenas issued – including 300 for witness records, 200 phone selectors, and 20 financial probes – plus search warrants for 10 phones, 20 devices, seven iCloud accounts, 28 emails, and even Trump&#8217;s Twitter.
But why? What’s not clear is the specifics of why TPUSA, or really any of these groups, were targeted. There has been no evidence to suggest that TPUSA was involved in a false elector scheme, any financial misconduct, or any other activity that should have put them in the crosshairs of federal investigators. More declassified releases are expected.

Topline: Amid President Trump’s ongoing push to reshape the Federal Reserve, Chairman Jerome Powell announced a cut in interest rates on Wednesday, offering a potential jolt to the Trump economy. 
Powell said the Federal Reserve will be lowering its benchmark interest rate by a quarter point — the first cut since last December. That means some minor, but tangible, relief for those buying a home or car, refinancing their student loans or credit card debt, and so on.
From the horse’s mouth: Powell on Wednesday said: “While the unemployment rate remains low, it has edged up. Job gains have slowed, and downside risks to employment have risen. At the same time, inflation has risen recently and remains somewhat elevated. In support of our goals and in light of this shift in the balance of risks, today the Federal market committee decided to lower our policy interest rate by a quarter percentage point.”
What’s next: Investors are confident this is just the first cut. They’re predicting similar quarter-point cuts in October and December. Many of those investors were clearly thrilled by the news — we saw both the DOW and S&amp;P 500 jump to record highs on Wednesday.
Trump makes moves: This month, Trump appointed and the Senate approved Stephen Miran, one of his top economic advisers, to the Fed’s powerful Board of Governors. That makes Miran one of 12 people voting on rate decisions — while the other 11 voted Wednesday for a quarter-point cut, he was the only one who voted for a larger, half-point cut.
Miran’s role as chair of the White House Economic Council makes him the first Governor in the Board’s 100-plus-year history who’s also technically an employee of the president — though he’ll take a leave of absence from his White House role. 
Democrats respond: Democrats in Congress introduced a bill Tuesday that would bar Federal Reserve officials from simultaneously holding another position appointed by the president. That bill is unlikely to pass the Senate, given the Republican majority, but it could be revived in the future, depending on the outcome of the midterms next year.

Topline: Secretary of State Marco Rubio traveled to the Middle East this week as Israel launched its long-awaited ground invasion of Gaza City, a major population center and one of the last strongholds of Hamas.
Expert opines: Victoria Coates, vice president of the National Security and Foreign Policy Institute at The Heritage Foundation, on the consequences of the invasion of Gaza City: “I think the region understands that this has to happen. It would be desirable to come up with a solution for the Palestinians of Gaza before this was necessary. But the fact of the matter is that Hamas won&#8217;t let them out. They&#8217;re the only population on the planet that aren&#8217;t being allowed to flee from a war zone. And part of that is Hamas. And part of that is the fact that the Egyptians won&#8217;t let them cross there. The Jordanians won&#8217;t let them come to Jordan. That also is telling.”
Israel recently targeted Hamas leaders staying in Doha, Qatar, with an airstrike that was immediately condemned by the Qatari government, which has served as one of the main Arab state mediators between Israel and the terror group Hamas. To the extent that the strike affects negotiations, Coates says it is possible that the impact will be beneficial, “because we weren&#8217;t getting anywhere with the old process.”
Coates: “This was a big step on the part of Israel to strike Hamas in Doha. At least one Hamas terrorist died. So I&#8217;m not going to be sorry about it. But at the same time, that was a potential world crisis between Israel and Qatar and potentially with the rest of the Gulf. Now, the good news is that the secretary flew directly from Tel Aviv to Doha … And so he was pretty much demonstrating through his travel that he&#8217;s going to go talk to both of them. There&#8217;s going to be a direct flight in between them. And … at the Arab summit meeting in Doha, the Abraham Accords countries did not withdraw from the accords. It happened to be the fifth anniversary of the accords on Monday, and that did not happen. They decided to stay in. And so that, to me, is the most powerful symbol that the accords will endure – and we can get back at some point to the business of increasing normalization.”

HBO Max will commemorate the second anniversary of the Hamas October 7 terrorist attack on Israel by airing the scripted series, “One Day in October.”
The limited series is based on real accounts from the horrific attack in 2023, which resulted in the massacre of more than 1,200 Israelis and hundreds of others being taken hostage. It first premiered on Israeli network Yes Drama on the first anniversary of the coordinated raid.
The project is said to include “seven emotionally gripping and artistically interwoven narratives of love, courage, sacrifice, and survival. From families torn apart to moments of hope emerging in the face of unspeakable tragedy to incredible bravery against the odds, each episode reveals the human cost and resilience born out of chaos. The series portrays the victims’ and survivors’ experiences of that day and is brought to life by a distinguished cast and acclaimed creative team,” per <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/hbo-hamas-israel-one-day-in-october-7-series-1236372113/">The Hollywood Reporter</a>.
FOX Entertainment Studios President Fernando Szew said of the series, “The tragic events on October 7th had a profound impact on all of us. From the very beginning, we approached this series with the utmost care, sensitivity, and urgency to ensure that the stories were told with authenticity and respect, and paying homage to the victims and the heroic survivors.” 
Szew added that the creators “have truly created compelling storytelling that we are proud to showcase.”
“For me, film and television have always been more than entertainment, they are a way to bear witness. These are stories of ordinary people facing extraordinary moments,” Daniel Finkelman, founder of the production company Sparks Go, said. “In a time when truth is fragile, the most powerful thing we can do is to appeal to humanity itself. My hope is that these stories will open hearts and spark meaningful conversation.”
Last year, Finkelman discussed what compelled him to make the series. 
“After Oct. 7, I realized that when you know what you are willing to die for, you know what you are ready to live for,” he <a href="https://www.jpost.com/israel-news/culture/article-822942">said</a>, per The Jerusalem Post. “I realized what we are fighting for.”
“We’re being shown real footage on the news of people being abducted and no one gives a f***,” the producer added. “So we thought, let’s tell the narrative the way people like to be entertained.”
The cast includes actors Swell Ariel Or, Noa Kedar, Naomi Levov, Hisham Sulliman, Wael Hamdun, and Yuval Semo.

The United Nations Security Council has issued <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/09/11/world/middleeast/israel-qatar-un-security-council.html">a statement</a> condemning Israel’s strike last week against the leaders of Hamas in Qatar. The statement only highlights how the international conversation surrounding the mission has been predictably loud and legally uninformed. While critics reflexively cry “aggression,” or “violation of sovereignty,” actual international law tells a very different story. Far from being outlawed conduct, the justification for the operation rests on the very framework the international community itself created after the attacks on September 11, 2001. Ironically, that framework is enshrined in a binding UN Security Council Resolution. 
Here’s the point: Harboring a terrorist organization is an outright violation of binding international law, and any State that does so should expect an appropriate response. 
For decades, the prevailing orthodoxy held that only States could commit “armed attacks” that would trigger the right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter. That might have made sense in 1945, when only governments fielded armies capable of the destruction envisioned by the Charter. Yet even then, international law acknowledged something crucial: If irregular forces caused destruction on a scale comparable to that of a regular army, those acts could be considered armed attacks. This became known as the “scale and effects” test.
The Hamas of today is not a ragtag insurgency. It is a heavily armed, organized, and entrenched militant army that governs territory, fields thousands of fighters, employs rockets, drones, and tunnels, and has repeatedly demonstrated the ability to inflict destruction on a massive scale. Its October 7, 2023, massacre of Israeli civilians, its ongoing rocket fire, its continued holding of Israeli hostages, and its declared intent to repeat such attacks all plainly qualify under the “scale and effects” test. By any reasonable military or legal standard, Israel has the right to target those directing such operations wherever they are located.
In truth, however, this analysis is almost unnecessary because the narrow legal interpretation requiring State action effectively died on 9/11. After the World Trade Center attacks, the entire world saw that terrorist groups could inflict devastation matching or exceeding many States. The United States invoked <a href="https://legal.un.org/repertory/art51.shtml">Article 51</a>, and the UN Security Council responded, explicitly acknowledging that terrorist groups can carry out armed attacks, and that States have the right under the Charter to respond in self-defense — even when the perpetrators are non-State actors operating abroad.
Resolution 1368 (2001), adopted the day after 9/11, <a href="https://legal.un.org/repertory/art51/english/rep_supp1_vol1_art51.pdf">declared</a>:
<blockquote>Nothing in the present Charter shall impair the inherent right of individual or collective self-defense if an armed attack occurs against a Member of the United Nations, until the Security Council has taken the measures necessary to maintain international peace and security. Measures taken by Members in the exercise of this right of self-defense shall be immediately reported to the Security Council and shall not in any way affect the authority and responsibility of the Security Council under the present Charter to take at any time such action as it deems necessary in order to maintain or restore international peace and security.</blockquote>
Just a few weeks later, the Council passed another Resolution 1373, which reaffirmed “the inherent right of individual or collective self-defence as recognized by the Charter of the United Nations as reiterated in resolution 1368 (2001).”
It also imposed additional obligations: States must “refrain from providing any form of support, active or passive, to entities or persons involved in terrorist acts” and must “deny safe haven to those who finance, plan, support, or commit terrorist acts, or provide safe havens.” 
This second Resolution, which included the harboring doctrine, explicitly invoked the authority given to the Security Council under Chapter VII of the UN Charter. Under Article 25 of the Charter, such Chapter VII decisions are binding on all UN Member States and create enforceable international law.
Nor is this practice controversial. Countries around the world consistently rely on the harboring doctrine to go after terrorists. Turkey has conducted operations in Iraq to go after the PKK (Kurdistan Workers’ Party), while Russia used it to pursue Chechen militants in Georgia. India cited it to justify surgical strikes within Pakistan to go after groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba, and France applied it to conduct operations against violent jihadist groups in Mali, Niger, and Chad.
After 9/11, the U.S. framed the Taliban’s harboring of Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda as grounds for self-defense under international law. As President Bush <a href="https://georgewbush-whitehouse.archives.gov/news/releases/2001/09/20010911-16.html">stated</a>: “We will make no distinction between the terrorists who committed these acts and those who harbor them.” 
In the early 2000s and again in the 2010s, U.S. officials invoked the harboring doctrine against al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula; Yemen was described as a “safe haven” where terrorists were harbored, justifying U.S. drone strikes and special forces operations. The same rationale guided U.S. policy in Somalia, justifying actions when Somali authorities were unable to restrain al-Shabaab or lacked the capacity to prevent its attacks. In fact, President Obama repeatedly invoked the notion of denying terrorist groups safe havens when he was reinforcing the legal and moral justification for U.S. strikes and operations in regions such as Afghanistan, Pakistan, Syria, and Iraq.
Of course, self-defense is not a blank check. International law requires necessity and proportionality. Here, necessity is obvious because Qatar is not detaining Hamas leaders or halting their activities. Proportionality is likewise satisfied. These are precise, intelligence-driven strikes aimed not at Qatari civilians or infrastructure, but at individuals orchestrating terrorist campaigns. In modern military terms, this is a textbook example of how a State can apply force in a manner that is both lawful and restrained, targeting the enemy while minimizing civilian harm.
Wars are decided not only on battlefields but also in the decisions to act, or to refrain from acting, against threats that originate abroad. History shows that when States allow terrorist sanctuaries to fester, violence metastasizes. Israel’s strike in Qatar is part of a long-established, legally grounded, and militarily necessary practice: denying safe haven to those who would continue to massacre innocents if left untouched.
The right to self-defense includes the right to eliminate a threat, even when that threat is being illegally harbored by a so-called neutral party.
If the United States lawfully struck and killed bin Laden in Pakistan, then Israel lawfully struck and killed Hamas leaders in Qatar. That is not bending international law. It is applying it correctly, even when it comes to Israel.
