An elite Pennsylvania liberal arts college agreed to sweeping changes after a lawsuit said the school allowed its campus to become a hotbed for radicalism, with open glorification of the terrorist group Hamas and antisemitic harassment by students.
Haverford College has <a href="https://www.haverford.edu/institutional-diversity-equity-and-access/combating-antisemitism">settled</a> with a group of Jewish students who sued the school in federal court in 2024. The students accused administrators of failing to protect them from discrimination and harassment because they were Jewish. 
The lawsuit detailed a campus environment where Hamas-supporting rhetoric became increasingly intertwined with hostility toward Jewish students. Masked protesters disrupted events, activists favorably shared images of Hamas paragliders during the October 7 attack, and a professor called for support for the “Palestinian resistance” just days after the attack.
Under the agreement, Haverford will explicitly state that Jewish, Israeli, and Zionist students are welcome on campus and that discrimination and harassment targeting them violates college policy and can result in disciplinary action.

The settlement also requires Haverford to establish a new Civil Rights Director to handle antisemitism complaints, create an Antisemitism Committee, require annual antisemitism training for students and employees, and provide equal security for events sponsored by Jewish, Israeli, or Zionist groups. It will require masked individuals to identify themselves to campus officials when circumstances warrant it.
The students were represented by The Deborah Project, a nonprofit legal organization that represents Jewish students and faculty facing antisemitism in education.
According to the lawsuit, Jewish students faced hostility in classrooms, student forums, campus events, and even extracurricular activities, while administrators repeatedly failed to intervene or treated complaints as matters for students to resolve themselves. The campus environment became so hostile that administrators were warned that Jewish students felt physically threatened as Hamas-supporting rhetoric continued. 
During an encampment in April 2024, one Jewish student wrote to the Haverford President Wendy Raymond that protesters were using bullhorns to chant from the Hamas Charter and accuse Israel of genocide. 
“As a Jew I experience this conduct exactly as these people intend for me to experience it: as grossly demeaning, insulting and, most important, physically threatening. Glorying in Hamas’s conduct, and insisting that Israel do nothing to stop Hamas from doing it again, can’t be anything other than a threat to Jews,” the student wrote.
The lawsuit says one image circulated among Haverford students immediately after October 7 that featured a paraglider alongside the words “Stand with Palestinian resistance.” Hamas terrorists had used paragliders to infiltrate Israel for its massacre of Israeli civilians.
The complaint says the image was circulated as part of a series of posts that Jewish students viewed as celebrating or justifying the Hamas attack. 
Haverford math professor Tarik Aougab also came under scrutiny for his social media activity following the attack.
According to the lawsuit, Aougab publicly praised the October 7 atrocities on October 11, calling for “unequivocal and firm support for the Palestinian resistance” and reposting a message stating that defenders of Hamas’ attack “should never have to apologize for celebrating the scenes of an imprisoned people breaking free from their chains.”

Aougab later attacked Haverford students who supported Israel, calling them “racist genocidaires,” and announced that he would not provide recommendations for students seeking to study in Israel, according to the complaint. 
When Jewish students asked Raymond about Aougab reposting a photograph of a bulldozer breaking through the barrier between Gaza and Israel at the beginning of the Hamas attack, the lawsuit says Raymond responded that the post “could be perceived in many ways.”
When pressed on how she perceived it, Raymond said she “heard people breaking free from their chains.” She also allegedly described some of the Gazans who crossed into Israel through the destroyed fence on October 7 as “peaceful.” 
In spring 2024, Haverford hired Christopher R. Rogers as a visiting professor, despite him also publicly praising Hamas’ attack. Rogers reposted a tweet on October 7 featuring bulldozers breaking into Israel with the caption “beautiful sights to wake up to this morning.” He himself posted, “It’s an all day shout out to Chester love and Palestinian self-determination” during the attack.

The plaintiffs said that, to their knowledge, Haverford did not investigate or discipline professors over their social media posts supporting October 7. By contrast, they point out that Jewish-Israeli professor Barak Mendelsohn was investigated after criticizing a ceasefire petition and writing that its supporters appeared to ignore the “massacre, beheading, mutilation, and burning” of Israeli civilians by Hamas, before calling some of the petition’s supporters “Hamas apologists.” He posted that Haverford had a “Jewish problem,” that its student body was “led by Hamas apologists,” and that he would not send a Jewish student there.
The investigation found that Mendelsohn had not engaged in “discrimination or harassment,” but concluded that his conduct was “inconsistent with the College’s expectations of its faculty.”
The lawsuit also describes a September 30, 2024, antisemitism event featuring the Anti-Defamation League that was disrupted by masked protesters.
An alumna who witnessed the demonstration told Raymond that protesters gathered outside the event while shouting threatening slogans, carrying signs reading “No Zionists on campus,” and “shouting their support for the terrorist groups Hezbollah and Hamas.” Most of the demonstrators had their faces covered with masks, according to the alumna.
The protesters shouted “from Gaza to Lebanon Israel must be gone,” “Stand up fight back,” and “by whatever means necessary&#8221; and banged on pots and shouted through a megaphone to disrupt the presentation. 
The lawsuit says university president Raymond was physically present and witnessed the disruption but did not intervene or issue a statement after the event.
Raymond was later pressed about the incident during a May 7, 2025, congressional hearing. Rep. Randy Fine (R-FL) asked what would happen if a student walked across Haverford’s campus holding a sign reading “No Blacks on campus.” 
Raymond said there would be “no room for discrimination,” prompting Fine to point out that students had held a “No Zionists on campus” sign at the September 30, 2024, protest where Raymond was present, without consequence.
“But there is room!” Fine told her. “Because at your campus, in front of you at a protest, students held up a sign saying ‘No Zionists on campus.’” 
During Haverford’s spring 2024 anti-Israel encampment, which protesters declared a “Liberated Zone,” posters were present quoting Hamas to advocate for the destruction of the Jewish state, as well as chants of “long live the Intifadah,” according to the lawsuit.
The protesters occupied the center of campus for at least three days and blocked access to Founders’ Hall — a central building on campus. Students who did not express support for the protesters’ goals were allegedly shouted at and insulted. 
Haverford also directed Jewish students to the student-run Honor Council to address complaints of antisemitism and harassment, despite allegations that some Honor Council members themselves allegedly participated in the attacks on Jewish students.
The lawsuit alleges that the Honor Code divided students into “marginalized” and “privileged” groups, resulting in different standards of treatment based on those labels. Anti-Israel students allegedly used that framework to portray Jews committed to Israel as inherently “privileged” and to bully or silence them.
In announcing the settlement, Raymond acknowledged that members of the Haverford community committed to Israel as the Jewish homeland had been “deeply hurt” by events following October 7.
“That constitutes a failure on our part,” Raymond said. “We commit ourselves to doing better going forward.”
The settlement has nevertheless drawn criticism from the Philadelphia chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), which <a href="https://pa.cair.com/pressrelease/haverford-zionism/">argued</a> that Haverford went too far by treating Zionism as a protected identity.
“Jewish students deserve protection from antisemitism, harassment, and discrimination. Palestinian students deserve those same protections,” said Dr. Ahmet Tekelioglu, executive director of CAIR-Philadelphia. “But no political ideology should be placed beyond criticism at an institution whose mission is supposed to center intellectual inquiry and the pursuit of truth.”
Tekelioglu argued that protecting Jewish students does not mean shielding Zionism from criticism.
“Protecting Jewish people is not the same as protecting Zionism from criticism,” he said. “A student’s Jewish identity is not a political ideology, and criticism of Zionism or advocacy for Palestinian rights should not be presumed to constitute hostility toward Jewish people.”
Texas and Florida moved to designate CAIR as a terrorist organization in 2025 under state law, but these designations are currently frozen or delayed due to active federal lawsuits.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told his cabinet on Sunday that Israel rejects President Donald Trump’s 15-point plan for Gaza. 
He said the Israeli military will not pull back a single step until Hamas is stripped of every weapon it holds, <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/israel-rejects-trumps-15-point-plan-gaza-pm-netanyahu-says-2026-08-09/">according</a> to Reuters.
“Israel does not accept the 15-point document,” Netanyahu said at the start of the meeting. “The military will not carry out any withdrawal until Hamas is disarmed … it means heavy weaponry, lighter weaponry, all weaponry.”
He had made the same point Tuesday in a social media post. Israeli officials have already shared their reservations with Washington. Netanyahu said the two sides are still talking. “They have ideas, some of which are acceptable to us and some of which are unacceptable to us,&#8221; he said of the Americans.
Trump <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-touts-a-historic-gaza-disarmament-agreement?author=Drew+Berkemeyer&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Trump+Touts+A+%E2%80%98Historic%E2%80%99+Gaza+Disarmament+Agreement">announced</a> the deal late last month and called it a historic agreement for the complete disarmament of Hamas and every other armed group in Gaza. The framework, negotiated with Arab mediators in Cairo and overseen by Trump&#8217;s Board of Peace, laid out a phased process.
Hamas would surrender both heavy and light weapons over several months, disclose the locations of tunnels and weapons depots, and allow a new Palestinian technocratic administration to take control under the Board’s supervision. 
Israeli forces would leave only after areas were independently verified as demilitarized. An international stabilization force would then work with a new Palestinian police unit to keep order. Trump said that the arrangement would finally stop Gaza from being used as a launchpad for attacks and give Israel the security it needs.
That second phase was meant to follow the October 2025 ceasefire, which covered the exchange of hostages and prisoners and brought a sharp decline in intensive fighting. The new document tackled the harder issues which were complete disarmament, Israeli withdrawal, and who actually runs Gaza afterwards.
The two sides immediately disagreed on the order of those steps. Israel insists on complete disarmament first. The plan describes a more deliberate process in which weapons are removed sector by sector and Israeli troops then leave those cleared areas. 
The Board of Peace has <a href="https://x.com/BoardOfPeace/status/2084333685869084696">said</a> Israeli forces will not withdraw beyond current lines until Hamas&#8217;s weapons are fully decommissioned. Nikolay Mladenov, the Board of Peace&#8217;s highest representative for Gaza, has met with Netanyahu repeatedly in recent months, most recently on Monday, when he pressed Israel to stop airstrikes and abide by the terms of the earlier ceasefire.
Israel has already changed how it operates on the ground. Attacks have been scaled back since Monday, when Mladenov met with Netanyahu. A source familiar with Israel’s position told Reuters the military is now limited to responding to only to what it sees as immediate threats. 
Approval for any remaining strikes was tightened so that the chief of staff must sign off rather than subordinate commanders, <a href="https://www.ynetnews.com/article/sjoyhyjlzx">according</a> to Ynet Global.
The Israeli military reported <a href="https://www.wsj.com/world/middle-east/israel-rejects-trump-plan-for-hamas-disarmament-2d1475cb?mod=middle-east_news_article_pos1">no strikes</a> in Gaza for six days as of Sunday. Netanyahu said the military will continue to act against threats to Israeli forces and citizens.
Hamas says it remains committed to the plan agreed upon in Cairo about ten days ago. Senior official Basem Naim told <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/israel-rejects-trumps-15-point-plan-gaza-pm-netanyahu-says-2026-08-09/">Reuters</a> the group expects the mediators and the United States to press Netanyahu and his government to stick to the plan and not obstruct it for internal political or electoral reasons. 
Hamas avoids the word “disarmament.” It describes the arrangement as handing weapons over for storage under a U.S.-backed Palestinian technocratic administration supervised by the Board of Peace. Hamas also insists that implementation depends on Israel first meeting its own commitments, withdrawal and a halt to attacks.
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich praised Netanyahu’s stand. “We went to war with a central goal: the destruction of Hamas,” he said. “The [military] cannot withdraw even a millimeter from the Gaza Strip.”
Netanyahu is under pressure on multiple fronts. An election is scheduled for October 27, and polls show him struggling to put together a ruling majority. His coalition partners have objected loudly to any concessions. 
At the same time the Trump administration has pushed hard for progress on the plan, treating it as a major foreign policy goal of the president’s second term. Relations between the two leaders have been strained for months amid differences over the Iran conflict, with reports of tense phone calls.
Israeli forces still control and have largely emptied two-thirds of the enclave. More than two million residents are confined to a narrow coastal strip under Hamas control, most living in makeshift tents or damaged buildings.

Speaking at a hearing on Wednesday about the dangers of the Muslim Brotherhood network across America, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) denounced the five Senate Democrats who refused to attend the hearing.
Cruz laid into Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Federal Courts, Oversight, Agency Action, and Federal Rights, who announced on Tuesday that they would <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dems-boycott-hearing-on-muslim-brotherhood">refuse to participate</a> in the hearing focused on Muslim Brotherhood networks within the United States.
&#8220;You may notice that there are empty chairs on the Democrat side of the dais,&#8221; Cruz said. &#8220;The American people should ask themselves why not a single member of the minority decided that a hearing on terrorism was worth their time. It is an embarrassment and a disservice to the thousands of American victims of the Muslim Brotherhood. History has taught Americans the danger of dismissing determined jihadist movements because their ambitions seem too extreme to be real.&#8221;
Cruz continued:

The Democrat boycott targeted a session organized by Cruz titled “Hidden in Plain Sight: Confronting the Muslim Brotherhood Network in America.” The proceeding aligned with broader initiatives by national and state Republicans aimed at cracking down on the group, which included proposals to classify its various branches as terrorist organizations.
In a joint <a href="https://www.whitehouse.senate.gov/news/release/senate-judiciary-courts-subcommittee-democrats-blast-cruzs-hearing-targeting-the-muslim-community/">statement</a>, Democratic Senators Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Mazie Hirono (D-HI), Alex Padilla (D-CA), and Peter Welch (D-VT) sharply criticized the panel’s focus, writing, “Scapegoating Muslims may be a Texas Republican strategist’s idea of ‘solid gold’ to whip up their voters, but Democrats have no intention of indulging this political creepshow, particularly after the recent violence targeting places of faith. Our focus is the costs families face thanks to rampant, non-stop Trump corruption.”
During the hearing, Cruz questioned expert witnesses Lara Burns, Arielle Klepach, and Kyle Shideler regarding the domestic presence and influence of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Burns, the head of terrorism research at the Program on Extremism at the George Washington University, emphasized that the infrastructure supporting foreign terrorist organizations operates inside the U.S. under the guise of charity and advocacy. She testified:

A dangerous myth about foreign terrorist organizations persists in the United States, that the infrastructure supporting them exists only overseas. In reality, these support infrastructures have existed inside the U.S. for decades. They operate through financial, propaganda, and organizational support networks and commonly hide under the cover of charity, advocacy, or activism.
In 1993, leaders of the Palestine Committee held a meeting known as the 1993 Philadelphia Meeting, which was lawfully wiretapped by the FBI. There, members of the Palestine Committee defined the scope of the conspiracy, which included supporting Hamas abroad and infiltrating universities, media, and politics here in the U.S. Why? To begin normalizing Hamas and Muslim Brotherhood extremist ideology in American society. They stated, &#8220;War is deception when plotting to lie to Americans.&#8221; They also noted their intent to cleanse the curriculum in U.S.-based K-12 schools because &#8220;we don&#8217;t want our children growing up surrendering to the idea of peace with Jews.&#8221;

Kyle Shideler, the director and senior analyst for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism at the Center for Security Policy stated that the Muslim Brotherhood operates as a counterintelligence and systemic threat in the U.S. He testified:

From its very beginning, the Muslim Brotherhood has operated as a clandestine organization, which engages in the creation of public front groups, cultivates agents of influence, seeks control over religious institutions, and engages in acts of political subversion as well as creating deniable sub-organizations devoted to terrorism, all in pursuit of their ultimate goal, the overthrow of governments and the reestablishment of a worldwide caliphate operating under Islamic law. 
It is worth recalling that the government demonstrated that the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood, like all Brotherhood branches worldwide, created and funded Hamas support networks known as Palestine Committees at the direction of the U.S. of the International Muslim Brotherhood, beginning in 1983. &#8230; The issue of the U.S.-Muslim Brotherhood is not merely a counterterrorism issue, but it is also a systemic counterintelligence challenge. And even more broadly, it is a challenge to the fabric of the United States and its ability to seek assimilation and social cohesion.

Arielle Klepach, the former assistant U.S. attorney in the special prosecution sections of the United States Attorney&#8217;s Office for the Southern District of Florida, testified on the infiltration of the American education system, saying, “When someone tells you who they are, believe them. The Muslim Brotherhood told us their strategy for the West, but don&#8217;t take my word for it. They put it on paper. &#8230; This is not a relic of the 1990s. It is a foreign terror-supporting movement on American soil targeting our Constitution and our founding principles. I would ask you to remember three things. These organizations are dangerous, they are in our schools, and they hide by abusing the very legal system they are working to dismantle.”

Cruz Rips Dems Skipping Hearing On Muslim Infiltration

A Senate hearing on Wednesday presented evidence that a Muslim Brotherhood-connected network in the United States is built to support Hamas and expand influence through American institutions. 
The “Hidden in Plain Sight: Confronting the Muslim Brotherhood Network in America” <a href="https://www.judiciary.senate.gov/committee-activity/hearings/hidden-in-plain-sight-confronting-the-muslim-brotherhood-network-in-america-08-05-2026?_cb=1785962582513">hearing</a>, led by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), focused on how the network was constructed and the threats it poses to the United States. The network continues to operate with overlapping leadership, shared ideology, and sustained reach into education, politics, and nonprofit advocacy.
At the center of the hearing was the 2008 Holy Land Foundation case, which remains the largest terrorism financing prosecution in American history. In 2008, the Holy Land Foundation, then the largest Muslim charity in the United States, and five of its leaders were convicted on 108 counts of providing material support to Hamas, money laundering, and tax fraud. Sentences reached 65 years.
At the time, prosecutors said the trial exposed a broader network of organizations operating inside the country. That structure included the Islamic Society of North America, the North American Islamic Trust, and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).
A 1991 document known as the Explanatory Memorandum, recovered by the FBI in 2004 in Annandale, Virginia, described the Brotherhood’s work in North America as “a grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and &#8216;sabotaging&#8217; its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers.” The document instructed adherents to master coalition building and to work with existing Islamic organizations.
CAIR was founded in 1994 by individuals who participated in a 1993 Philadelphia meeting of Palestine Committee leaders that the FBI recorded. At that meeting, participants discussed supporting Hamas while infiltrating American universities, media, and politics. 
They spoke of shaping school curricula so that children would not “grow up surrendering to the idea of peace with Jews.” Nihad Awad, who took part in the meeting, remains CAIR’s executive director. Witnesses said CAIR was created in significant part to defend and protect other elements of the Hamas support network.

Asked whether evidence from that prosecution would still place CAIR on a list of organizations warranting further investigation, she answered, “It would.” She added that the underlying conspiracy still exists and the threat is growing.
After the Islamic Association for Palestine was driven into bankruptcy through civil liability for supporting terrorism, its leadership reappeared in other groups. Osama Abu Irshaid, who had worked for both the Islamic Association for Palestine and the United Association for Studies and Research, later became a leader of American Muslims for Palestine.
During the hearing, Cruz mentioned that Abdul El-Sayed, who won Michigan’s Democratic primary for U.S. Senate on Tuesday, has family ties to this network. El-Sayed&#8217;s father-in-law previously served as president of CAIR Michigan and sat on the founders committee of the Islamic Society of North America.
Kyle Shideler, a counterterrorism analyst, told lawmakers that CAIR’s creation and bylaws received explicit approval from Muslim Brotherhood leadership in Egypt. Documents from the Holy Land Foundation case showed that, at one time, one in every four American mosques was under the influence of the Hamas-linked North American Islamic Trust. 
Arielle Klepach, a former federal prosecutor, said that CAIR New Jersey distributed a curriculum on 9/11 to nearly 30 public school districts that framed the attacks as a predictable consequence of U.S. foreign policy. 
Cruz then referenced troubling statements made by CAIR officials after the October 7, 2023, attacks. Awad declared he was “happy to see people breaking the siege,” and on the day of the massacre, the executive director of CAIR’s San Francisco chapter posted, “We are witnessing decolonization” and later referred to Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh as a martyr.
CAIR California’s CEO Hussam Ayloush said, “Israel should be attacked.” He also noted that CAIR and related groups assisted the broader network as it coordinated legal support and strategic guidance for the campus encampments and riots that spread to more than 100 campuses across the country.
Witnesses described the campus activity as the product of an organized network that has spent decades building influence inside American universities.
Burns confirmed that CAIR personnel appeared during the 2004 FBI search of a senior operative’s home in Virginia and attempted to obstruct the seizure of documents that formed a major archive of the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas support network.
Cruz closed by stating that the network’s institutional presence through nonprofits, taxpayer funded grants, campus organizing, and legal advocacy requires accountability “no matter how many tax exemptions, charitable registrations, or civil rights letterheads they hide behind.”
He called on the Justice Department, the Treasury Department, and the FBI to act on the evidence presented.

An Israel Defense Force (IDF) dog with a body camera entered a tunnel in southern Gaza and found dozens of rockets and other munitions inside.
Paratroopers found the terror tunnel while clearing the Israeli-held area of the Gaza Strip marked by the Yellow Line of terrorist infrastructure above and below ground.
Hamas&#8217; tunnel <a href="https://www.idf.il/en/mini-sites/hamas/everything-you-need-to-know-about-hamas-underground-city-of-terror/">network</a> is described by the IDF as “A vast underground city with dozens of access points located throughout Gaza. Hamas uses these tunnels as weapons caches, bunkers, command centers, and a concealed transportation artery for terrorists and weapons, including rocket launchers.”
Engineering units later destroyed the tunnel. Video of the blast shows a large explosion rising from an open field beside a road. The tunnel had remained undiscovered throughout the Israel-Hamas war until this operation. Its removal forms part of sustained work to clear terrorist infrastructure in accordance with the ceasefire framework.
Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar said in 2021 that the network ran for roughly 310 miles beneath a territory only about twice the size of Washington. Israeli assessments during the war placed the total even higher at hundreds of miles. The IDF has destroyed numerous systems of tunnels in recent months as operations continue.
Troops locate entrances, map the branches, search for explosives and weapons, and then destroy the routes so they cannot be repaired and reused. In one tunnel, soldiers entered a space identified as a Hamas commander’s room.
It contained porcelain sinks, telephone wiring, electricity, and a bed fitted with a mattress supplied as humanitarian aid “from the people of Japan.” It sat underground inside the infrastructure used by the group. Other complexes found during the war have held bathrooms, kitchens, electrical rooms, ventilation systems, and weapon stores. Senior operatives could remain below ground for days or weeks while directing activity.
In Rafah, where Israeli forces had already operated for more than a year, tunnels continued to surface. Lt. Col. Nadav Shoshani, an IDF international spokesman, described the reality directly, <a href="https://www.algemeiner.com/2026/07/21/israels-campaign-against-hamass-vast-tunnel-network-continues-during-gaza-ceasefire-kan-reports/">saying</a>, “The IDF are world-class experts in dealing with terror tunnels. And still after a year plus in Rafah there are still tunnels.” He noted that dozens of shafts could remain in a single sector and that troops were dismantling only single digits each week.
The IDF recently dismantled eight underground tunnel <a href="https://x.com/IDF/status/2052709542362849443">routes</a> used by Hamas that spanned more than 2.5 kilometers. One of those routes was part of the network in eastern Rafah. Hamas terrorists operating inside it were eliminated during the engineering activity.

Bar Asraf, a 30-year-old resident of the Israeli Sha&#8217;arei Tikva settlement, was found dead after he shot himself at the grave of his girlfriend Liron Barda, who was murdered by Hamas terrorists at the Nova music festival on October 7, 2023, The Jerusalem Post <a href="https://www.jpost.com/israel-news/article-904382">reported</a> on Monday.
Barda, who worked as the bar manager at the festival, stayed and gave first aid to the wounded during Hamas&#8217; attack despite pleas from friends and family for her to run. Asraf&#8217;s sister Lihi said the family was celebrating her other brother&#8217;s wedding just before Asraf was found dead. 
&#8220;We were at my brothers wedding. He apparently started to feel lonely. You could not tell. He was always happy and laughing,&#8221; Lihi said. &#8220;At the groom&#8217;s celebration there was dancing and a Shabbat reception with a singer. It was magical. We were at the peak of the family&#8217;s life.&#8221;
&#8220;He was actually coping well but he had a moment of madness being alone while seeing everyone with their families,&#8221; Lihi added. &#8220;People need to know what <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/nova-festival">Nova</a> did to people. On that day [October 7] he started driving toward Re&#8217;im to save her until he realized there was no one left to save and they turned him back halfway.&#8221;
After Asraf left the gathering, Lihi thought he had gone to be alone to think as he often did. After two hours passed, the family began to search, first checking a few places before going to Barda&#8217;s grave. &#8220;He loved talking there and being with her,&#8221; Lihi said.
&#8220;I walked over and suddenly I saw him lying next to Liron&#8217;s grave. I said to him, &#8216;Bar, get up, what are you doing again,&#8217; and then I realized he was covered in blood. I stepped on a gun beside him. I screamed. I could not function. My father started CPR. I knew it was the end. He was cold. &#8230; He died in the place he wanted to be most with the woman he wanted to be with most.&#8221;
Their mother, Bracha, called her son &#8220;a special boy&#8221; and described Barda and Asraf as &#8220;soulmates since childhood.&#8221;
&#8220;There were three nerve-wracking days when we did not know what happened to her at Nova. He stayed at my house and did not leave my side from morning until evening sitting with her entire family,&#8221; Bracha said. &#8220;He stayed in touch with them ever since, brought her mother bouquets of flowers and got a tattoo of her. A little while ago I saw him looking sad and asked what was wrong. He said, &#8216;Mom, I am sad. It is hard for me without Liron. I miss her. There is no one who can replace her, no one to cheer me up.&#8217; We felt he was struggling deeply without her.&#8221;

“I share your concern, Senator. It&#8217;s one of the reasons that UNRWA in particular should be defunded,” Waltz replied. “I think we should put it in law that it is permanently defunded.”

President Donald Trump announced Thursday that negotiators have his reached what he described as a &#8220;historic agreement&#8221; aimed at ending Hamas&#8217; control of Gaza, though the deal still awaits final approval from the terrorist group.
&#8220;Today, the Board of Peace reached a HISTORIC agreement for the COMPLETE DISARMAMENT of Hamas and all other armed groups in Gaza,&#8221; Trump wrote on Truth Social. &#8220;This is a monumental step toward lasting PEACE and SECURITY.&#8221;
<a href="https://www.axios.com/2026/07/30/hamas-weapons-gaza-deal-israel-board-peace">Axios</a> reported Thursday that U.S. officials and the Board of Peace believe Hamas could formally sign the agreement within days after agreeing to its terms during negotiations mediated by Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey. However, the outlet noted that Israeli officials and Western diplomats remain skeptical that Hamas will ultimately follow through with its commitments.
According to Trump, the deal would pave the way for Gaza to be governed by a new Palestinian government working alongside the Board of Peace while ensuring Israel &#8220;will have the security it deserves, with Gaza no longer used as a base for terror attacks.&#8221;
The president said the agreement would be implemented in phases as Hamas and other armed groups surrender their weapons, after which Israeli forces would withdraw and an international stabilization force would help a new Palestinian police force maintain security.
Under the reported framework, Hamas would surrender both heavy and light weapons over six to eight months, disclose the locations of tunnels and weapons depots, and allow a new Palestinian government to gradually assume control of Gaza. Israeli withdrawals would occur only after areas are independently verified as demilitarized, per the <a href="https://www.jpost.com/middle-east/article-904113">Jerusalem Post</a>.
Trump thanked Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey for their mediation efforts and praised his negotiating team, declaring that &#8220;the threat that emerged from Gaza on October 7 will NOT be allowed to rebuild.&#8221;

Hamas terrorists were quietly building a sprawling European terror network for years — stockpiling guns, scouting targets, and even filming a martyrdom-style video — as they plotted a massacre on the continent to mirror the horrific October 7 attack on Israel, according to a bombshell investigation released last week.
The chilling scheme, <a href="https://www.nzz.ch/international/die-hamas-nimmt-den-westen-ins-visier-und-plante-wohl-einen-zweiten-7-oktober-in-europa-ld.10014753">uncovered</a> through a joint probe by European intelligence agencies and reported by Swiss outlet Neue Zürcher Zeitung, spanned at least seven countries: Greece, Cyprus, Germany, Austria, Denmark, Poland, and Britain. The terror group eyed the second anniversary of its 2023 rampage, October 7, 2025, as a possible attack date, according to the report.
The plot first cracked open in early June, when a 37-year-old Egyptian man of Palestinian descent was busted on the Greek island of Crete. Cops raiding his apartment found bomb-making chemicals, and investigators say he&#8217;d been coordinating with two Cyprus-based Palestinians on a plan to blow up an Israeli cruise ship. The sting was fittingly code-named &#8220;Odin.&#8221;
But the real nerve center of the operation, authorities say, was Germany. Since last fall, federal prosecutors have ordered the arrest of nine suspected Hamas operatives across the country, accused of targeting Jewish and Israeli institutions. Investigators recovered a pre-recorded propaganda video claiming responsibility for attacks that never came to pass.
German officials say Hamas had turned the country into a weapons pipeline, smuggling at least 13 handguns, an assault rifle and more than 900 rounds of ammo through Denmark, Berlin, and Vienna. It wasn&#8217;t the first bust, as four Hamas members were already convicted in Berlin earlier this year for stashing weapons caches across Europe.
The network&#8217;s roots go back even further. Federal investigators say a Hamas cell was ordered from Lebanon back in 2019 to start hiding weapons across Europe, with caches later dug up in Bulgaria and Denmark. More were feared buried along the German-Polish border. Suspects were finally <a href="https://lab.imedd.org/en/hamas-weapons-in-bulgaria/">caught</a> after guards noticed them repeatedly crossing that border toting shovels, apparently hunting for their own buried arsenal. Arrests came in December 2023.
By the spring of 2023, prosecutors say, the same cell was ordered to haul the weapons into Germany and prep strikes on Jewish, Israeli, or American sites. Those sites included the Israeli embassy in Berlin, the U.S. airbase in Ramstein, and Berlin&#8217;s Tempelhofer Feld park.
Investigators say the whole operation was run out of Lebanon, with Berlin cell members spotted at the funeral of slain Hamas military commander Khalil al-Kharaz.
Hamas has <a href="https://www.counterextremism.com/roundup/eye-extremism-july-20-2026?utm_source=chatgpt.com">denied</a> any role in the alleged plot, insisting its fight is limited to Israel. But terror expert Hans-Jakob Schindler called that claim hard to swallow, warning a weakened Hamas may increasingly look to strike outside the Middle East for maximum shock value.

The Trump administration isn&#8217;t playing games. The Office of Foreign Assets Control exposed a senior U.K.-based Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood official, alongside three money-laundering operatives and three front organizations secretly fueling Hamas’s military wing.
“The Trump administration will relentlessly pursue terrorists and those who finance them,” warned Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. “Whether operating under the guise of charities, businesses, or underground financial networks, those who enable Hamas will be exposed, sanctioned, and held accountable.”
Thursday&#8217;s action pulled back the curtain on how these terror networks exploit donors while funneling cash directly into violent ops. Mahmoud al-Abyari, secretary general of the Muslim Brotherhood General Secretariat, was exposed for managing ties with Hamas and helping raise cash for previously sanctioned terror-linked groups like Hayat Yolu.
Entities like Indonesia’s Tujah Bulah Global (operating under the alias Seven Spikes Global) and the Gaza-based Madad Palestine Charitable Society claimed to gather cash for needy civilians. Instead, the money was secretly diverted straight into the pockets of Hamas fighters. Turkey-based El-Kahira for General Trading, owned by Khuldun Khamis Zakaria Alden and operated with shareholders Zaid and Abdullah Al-Jebouri, moved hundreds of thousands for Hamas. The operation didn&#8217;t stop at terror. It also provided underground fiat and crypto banking to violent European organized crime groups like Sweden’s notorious Foxtrot Network.
This crackdown marks the latest salvo in an aggressive, ongoing push by the Treasury Department to relentlessly pursue Muslim terrorist entities and dismantle their global cash pipelines.
Thursday&#8217;s blitz builds directly on Treasury enforcement actions from earlier this year, including the <a href="https://home.treasury.gov/news/press-releases/sb0415">March 12 dragnet</a>, when Treasury targeted four bogus non-profits, including Türkiye-based Ghazi Destek Dernegi and Indonesia’s KNRP, and captured Hamas documents proving that they were secretly funneling cash, supplies, and construction materials exclusively to armed militants in Gaza.
On <a href="https://home.treasury.gov/news/press-releases/sb0368">January 21,</a> Feds exposed six Gaza-based front groups posing as medical clinics, including the Waed Society and Al-Nur Society, that were directly integrated into Hamas&#8217;s security apparatus. Treasury also sanctioned the Popular Conference for Palestinians Abroad (PCPA) and UK organizer Zaher Khaled Hassan Birawi for orchestrating political propaganda and Gaza-bound &#8220;flotillas&#8221; at the direct behest of terror bosses.

Israeli Environmental Protection Minister Idit Silman reclassified crocodiles from wild animals to “<a href="https://www.jpost.com/israel-news/politics-and-diplomacy/article-902827">cultivated wild animal</a>s,” opening the door for them to be used to guard the country’s prisons holding Hamas operatives.
The regulation implemented Wednesday allowed crocodiles to be bred by government officials as long as they are held “in conditions determined by the [Nature and Parks Authority] director, to prevent their interference with nature,” the Times of Israel <a href="https://www.timesofisrael.com/likud-minister-reclassifies-crocodile-as-tended-paving-way-for-ben-gvirs-prison-plan/">reported</a>.
Israel’s National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, who pitched the idea last year, celebrated the change online. 
“Ministers Ben-Gvir and Silman are collaborating and surrounding the prisons with crocodiles!” Ben-Gvir <a href="https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=1442179624624396&amp;set=a.320758186766551">posted</a> on Facebook Thursday, adding an AI-generated image of himself with a pet crocodile and the caption, “You filthy terrorist, thinking about making a run for it? Think twice.” 
Ben-Gvir and Silman have taken inspiration from Trump’s “Alligator Alcatraz” that used the Everglades’s natural alligator population to deter its inmates from escaping, according to <a href="https://www.newsnationnow.com/world/israel-reclassifies-crocodiles-imitate-alligator-alcatraz/">NewsNation</a>.
Ben-Gvir hopes that Nile crocodiles will be placed at Ketziot Prison, which hosts many prisoners from Hamas.
Nile crocodiles are one of the most dangerous animals in the world. SeaWorld <a href="https://seaworld.org/animals/facts/reptiles/nile-crocodile/">notes</a> that Nile crocodiles can grow up to 20 feet long — half the length of a typical school bus — and can weigh over 1,500 pounds.
Not only do Nile crocodiles prey on hippos, zebras, or wildebeest, and they are one of the only known reptile species to actively hunt humans.
Neta Drori, the Environmental Protection Ministry’s legal adviser, wrote to Silman in June that there is no known precedent of using crocodiles to protect prisons, and noted that crocodile breeding in the past has led to the animals escaping and terrorizing local populations.
“With regard to the use in the United States, it was noted that this was a short-lived trial that was discontinued. It apparently took place in an area where crocodiles already occur in the wild, and there is therefore no basis for comparison,” Drori <a href="https://www.jpost.com/israel-news/politics-and-diplomacy/article-902827">wrote</a>.
“Although Prison Service officials said they are aware of and prepared to ensure the animals’ physical welfare, among other things based on their experience with dogs, the organization apparently has no expertise in raising dangerous wild animals such as crocodiles,” Drori added.
Drori concluded that despite the reclassification of the crocodile, Israeli law requires legislative approval of the decision to add crocodiles to the country’s prisons.
Silman has rejected Drori’s opinion, citing testimony from senior officials that the bureaucratic framework allows her and Ben-Gvir to implement the crocodile plan.
The Nature and Parks Authority is expected to meet soon and discuss the legality of Silman and Ben-Gvir’s plan. 
“The minister is acting contrary to her own legal adviser, contrary to the legal opinion of the Israel Nature and Parks Authority, contrary to the authority’s plenum, and contrary to the law. In other words, there is no legal basis for this,” an official told the Jerusalem Post.

Scahill, who does very cool things like call terrorists by their formal names (&#8220;The Qassam Brigades, Palestinian Forces&#8221;), subjected Khanna to a seven-minute struggle session where he repeatedly asked the Congressman to say October 7 was a good thing.
Khanna was forced to flail and give generic answers about &#8220;non-violent resistance&#8221; and even invoked Gandhi. But it wasn&#8217;t good enough for Scahill. He needed to endorse killing Israelis. He needed to say October 7 was justified. Anything less was insufficient.
I must say I delighted in the exchange. I will admit there was a time I fell on the more non-interventionist, anti-war side of foreign policy. I still do, to a large degree. But I was forced back toward the center as I realized gradually over time just how insane the &#8220;anti-war&#8221; faction is.
The reality is most of them aren&#8217;t anti-war when you scratch just a tad below the surface. What they actually are is anti-American and anti-Western. They side with terrorists, dictators, and adversaries of the United States. People like Scahill cry anti-imperialism and then have nothing to say about Vladimir Putin&#8217;s genocidal war of aggression against Ukraine.
Drop Site wasn&#8217;t the only one to call BS on Khanna&#8217;s stunt because it didn&#8217;t go far enough. Hasan Piker delivered the presidential hopeful a backhanded compliment, <a href="https://x.com/socialistadri/status/2077100119644656082">calling him &#8220;moveable&#8221; on Israel</a>, which is better than, say, Chuck Schumer.

The comments under Piker&#8217;s post and the Drop Site interview indicate that Khanna is learning a harsh lesson. Until he embraces out-and-out extermination of the Israeli state and support of Hamas, his silly games will get him nowhere. Only pure, uncut radicalism will do. He joined the <a href="https://x.com/Cavalorn/status/654934442549620736">leopards-eating-faces party</a>, and now he&#8217;s got to dislodge the teeth from his orbital bone.
