Democrats have a new talking point for the 2026 midterms, and it&#8217;s a doozy: the party wants you to believe the whole 2020-era meltdown (defund the police, kente-cloth photo ops, hyperfixation on gender and sex) was just a weird, isolated fever it caught during lockdown and has since fully recovered from. <a href="https://www.deseret.com/politics/2026/08/12/aoc-says-woke-1-was-crazy/">Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez kicked off the branding exercise on ABC&#8217;s &#8220;This Week&#8221;</a>, borrowing a line from a New York City councilman: &#8220;Woke 1 was crazy.&#8221; Within days, <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/mamdani-shrugs-off-aocswoke-1-comments-critic-says-progressives-cant-absolved-radical-past">New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani was echoing the same line at a press conference</a>, insisting &#8220;what you believe can change&#8221; while distancing himself from his own defund-the-police past. It&#8217;s not one congresswoman having a candid moment. It&#8217;s a coordinated cycle-wide message: Woke 1 is dead, don&#8217;t worry about it, just yell about Israel and “Medicare for All.”
Here&#8217;s the problem with the sales pitch: nobody bothered to tell the rest of the party that Woke 1 was supposed to have left the building.
Start with the DNC&#8217;s own leadership circus this year. David Hogg — the Parkland-shooting-survivor-turned-professional-activist the party spent years grooming as the &#8220;future&#8221; — got elected DNC vice chair back in February. Then Oklahoma Democratic operative Kalyn Free filed a complaint arguing the election process <a href="https://freebeacon.com/latest-news/stolen-election-dnc-to-review-vice-chair-david-hoggs-election-victory-amid-race-and-gender-discrimination-allegations/">&#8220;discriminated against three women of color candidates&#8221;</a> by allowing two men to sweep both vice-chair slots. The DNC&#8217;s Credentials Committee agreed, voided the results, and forced a do-over — and Hogg, reading the room, quietly declined to run again. The most prominent young progressive in the party got bumped from his own leadership seat for being insufficiently diverse on the one axis that actually mattered to the people running the process: being white and male. That&#8217;s not a 2020 relic. That happened this year, inside the DNC&#8217;s own headquarters, to the party&#8217;s handpicked golden boy — using the exact same racial-and-gender-box-checking logic Democrats now want to pretend was a temporary lockdown hallucination.
Then there&#8217;s the WNBA, an entire professional sports league that spent the better part of this year unable to answer the single easiest question in sports: what is a woman? After Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham had the audacity to say that biological men shouldn&#8217;t compete against women, <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/outkick-sports/wnba-fight-males-womens-sports-exposes-left-keeps-answering-question-nobody-asked">the league&#8217;s response was weeks of statements about &#8220;hate, abuse, and demonization&#8221;</a> and a major meeting on women… just to come back empty-headed and empty-skulled. When two former NBA players declared for the draft specifically to force the issue, the league quietly ruled them ineligible without ever rewriting a rulebook that still just says &#8220;only players who are women are eligible.&#8221; The reason the WNBA can&#8217;t answer the question isn&#8217;t confusion: <a href="https://townhall.com/news/mattvespa/2026/08/28/the-wnbas-stance-on-transgender-players-just-got-messier-n2682055">the league already let a female player transition to male mid-career and publicly celebrated it at the time</a>. Defining &#8220;woman&#8221; now would mean admitting the gender ideology it embraced circa 2020 already broke its own rules. That&#8217;s not a relic of the past. That&#8217;s a live mess this month, in the exact institutions that never got the memo Woke 1 supposedly ended.
When the Supreme Court&#8217;s Louisiana v. Callais decision gutted the race-based redistricting regime that had propped up dozens of &#8220;safe&#8221; congressional seats, Democratic leadership didn&#8217;t respond like a party that had grown past racial sorting. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries went on national television and accused the Court&#8217;s majority of <a href="https://thefederalist.com/2026/08/17/while-trying-to-avoid-court-packing-question-jeffries-all-but-admits-he-supports-it/">&#8220;unleashing Jim Crow-like tactics&#8221;</a> and doing &#8220;the bidding of extreme MAGA Republicans,&#8221; then <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/supreme-court/4563840/jeffries-threatens-judicial-reform-post-voting-rights-ruling/">declared &#8220;everything should be on the table,&#8221; including &#8220;massive judicial reform&#8221;</a>, to get race-based maps reinstated. Strip away the theater and what he&#8217;s demanding is the restoration of a system explicitly built to sort American voters by skin color. By Ballotpedia&#8217;s own count, <a href="https://spectator.org/the-democrats-may-not-survive-callais-ruling/">148 House seats nationwide — more than half of the entire Democratic caucus — currently exist in their present shape because race, not geography, dictated the lines</a>. The sitting House Minority Leader isn&#8217;t nostalgic for Woke 1&#8217;s racial framework. He&#8217;s actively campaigning to keep it running in 2026.
Woke 1 didn&#8217;t die somewhere between the lockdown and the vaccine rollout, and it isn&#8217;t a cringe-inducing vocabulary word the party has wisely retired. It&#8217;s alive in the DNC&#8217;s own leadership fights, alive in the WNBA locker room, and alive every time the House Minority Leader demands the law keep treating Black voters and white voters as different species who need different maps. Democrats aren&#8217;t running away from Woke 1 this cycle; they&#8217;re just hoping you&#8217;ll laugh along with the branding long enough not to notice they never actually left.

The White House ripped into Democrats after a near-unanimous vote Tuesday night in defense of socialism, calling the vote the latest illustration of &#8220;how extreme their party has become.&#8221;
The vote turned contentious, with only eight Democrat members of the House crossing the aisle to vote with Republicans on the resolution to denounce &#8220;socialism in all its forms.&#8221; It passed 220-192, with all the votes against the condemnation coming from Democrats. Two Democrats refused to pick a side and simply voted present.
The White House is using the vote to tear into Democrats, suggesting that the party has been lost to its most radical elements.
&#8220;Yet again, the Democrats prove how extreme their party has become,&#8221; White House spokeswoman Lauren Bis told The Daily Wire. &#8220;They support radical socialism, defunding federal law enforcement, and non-citizens voting in American elections.&#8221;
The vote was far closer than last November, when a <a href="https://www.politico.com/live-updates/2025/11/21/congress/house-denounces-horrors-of-socialism-00664412">similar resolution</a> condemning the &#8220;horrors of socialism&#8221; passed with support from 86 Democrats. The shift comes as the Democrat Socialists of America <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/who-is-behind-the-rapid-rise-of-the-dsa">grows its influence</a> on the political Left, with many of the most prominent party figures in the country proudly embracing the socialist label.
Highlighting this radical shift will be central to the Republican strategy in the rapidly approaching midterm elections, which, especially in House elections, will play out with electorates far less open to socialism than the Democrat base. In some key elections that will determine control of the U.S. Senate, however, the Democrat candidates who prevailed in primaries are on the far-Left.
Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico, for example, <a href="https://texasscorecard.com/decisiontexas/talarico-said-capitalism-is-an-oppressive-system-that-must-be-dismantled/">called</a> capitalism an &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/talarico-attacked-capitalism-wait-until-you-see-who-was-helping-pay-his-bills">oppressive system</a>&#8221; that needs to be &#8220;dismantled.&#8221; Abdul El-Sayed, the Democratic Senate nominee in Michigan, has attempted to distance himself from the socialist but has regularly reached out to the far-Left wing of the party — including by campaigning with America-hating communist streamer <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/el-sayed-defends-alliance-with-hasan-piker-in-newly-circulated-video">Hasan Piker</a>.
The White House is pledging that Republicans will continue to focus on President Donald Trump&#8217;s &#8220;commonsense agenda.&#8221;
&#8220;President Trump and Republicans will continue to deliver on his commonsense agenda that includes tax cuts for American families, border security, and record low prices for prescription drugs,&#8221; Bis told The Daily Wire.
Using resolutions to force Democrats to expose their radical positions has been part of the Republican strategy in Congress, and Democrats continue to step right into the trap. Earlier this year, <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/53-dems-vote-against-declaring-iran-state-sponsor-terror?msockid=2ac6c3f27a1c60101941d5cb7b3161f3">53 Democrats voted against</a> declaring Iran a state-sponsor of terror — an undeniable fact, unless you don&#8217;t recognize groups such as Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis as terrorists.
Democrats, however, are fearful of repercussions from the radical base that doesn&#8217;t want to see it side with Republicans on anything. Two Democrats who crossed the aisle to help Republicans get the resolution to a final House vote were lambasted by party leadership for doing so.
&#8220;The decision by two of our colleagues to blindside the entire House Democratic Caucus and join with the Republican majority to pass a procedural rule on the brink of failing represents a significant breach of trust,&#8221; said House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), in reference to Jared Golden of Maine and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez of Washington, who both voted for the resolution.

White House Tears Into Democrats After Near-Unanimous Vote Defending Socialism

Democrats are angry with House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) after he privately met with President Donald Trump&#8217;s son-in-law Jared Kushner to discuss potential areas of cooperation.
Former Obama aide Tommy Vietor <a href="https://x.com/TVietor08/status/2091519661011828786?s=20">blasted</a> Jeffries over the meeting, arguing that Kushner should be the target of congressional scrutiny rather than an ally.
“Jared Kushner has no actual government job. He just uses his family connections to get money from Gulf autocrats and fund corrupt deals,&#8221; Vietor said. &#8220;The only way Jeffries should work with him is with demands for documents and subpoenas.” 
Democratic pundit Jennifer Welch was even more direct.
“I don’t want to work with fascists. I don’t want to collaborate with fascists,” she <a href="https://x.com/MarcoFoster_/status/2091915461902401597">said.</a> 
Mehdi Hasan, founder and editor-in-chief of the left-wing news outlet Zeteo, also criticized the meeting.
“This is just pathetic stuff from the House Democratic leader,” he <a href="https://x.com/mehdirhasan/status/2091540763905601642" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said.</a>
The unusual meeting was <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2026/08/23/us/politics/jeffries-kushner-private-meeting.html">held</a> in a private space in New York City, according to The New York Times. Described as a “catch-up,” the conversation reportedly covered housing, immigration, the rising cost of living, and other issues on which the two might agree. They also discussed a potential meeting between Jeffries and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.
Kushner and Jeffries have known each other for years and worked together on criminal justice reform during Trump&#8217;s first term. Kushner, who does not hold an official position in the current administration but remains an outside adviser to Trump, has reportedly told other Trump advisers that Jeffries represents the best path toward bipartisan cooperation in Congress, while Wiles is the best person to facilitate those efforts in the West Wing. 
The meeting comes as Jeffries faces pressure from his own party following a string of primary victories by Democratic Socialists of America-backed candidates.
The DSA has directly targeted Jeffries and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY).
“Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries have failed to meet the moment and mount a credible defense against Trump,&#8221; the organization <a href="https://www.dsausa.org/statements/to-beat-fascism-we-need-socialism/">states</a> on its website. &#8220;This is no surprise from the party that handed the White House to the Republicans, campaigning on a failed status quo instead of fighting to raise wages and stop price gouging. To beat fascism, we need socialism.” 
The hostility appears to be mutual, with Jeffries <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/socialism-surges-among-democrats-party-leaders-reject-dsa-agenda-pack-fools">stating</a> earlier this month, “I don’t support the DSA agenda, as has been articulated by the DSA itself.” 
Jeffries has rejected calls to abolish ICE, instead advocating aggressive reform. He also opposes defunding the police and Medicare for All, a key leftist policy championed by Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, who defeated establishment Democrat Rep. Haley Stevens.
Cygnal pollster Brent Buchanan argues Republicans have a way to blunt that momentum, portraying Jeffries’s meeting with Kushner as proof that Democratic warnings about Trump being an existential threat are overblown. 
“Their House leader spent an afternoon looking for space to deal with the president’s son-in-law. Republicans should make sure every Democratic voter in the country knows that meeting happened,” Buchanan said. “The party’s moderate wing has stopped voting for something and started voting against someone. A leader who sits down to negotiate takes the emergency away, and the emergency is the anger that gets those voters to the polls.”
Democratic socialists have gained ground by defeating establishment Democrats in several recent primaries. Claire Valdez and Darializa Chevalier unseated incumbents in New York City, while Melat Kiros won in Colorado and Angie Nixon prevailed in Florida’s Democratic primary. 
Some Republicans have openly welcomed the DSA’s success, arguing that socialist nominees will be easier to defeat in general elections. One Trump adviser <a href="https://www.axios.com/2026/08/19/democrats-florida-senate-angie-nixon-misterms">called</a> Nixon’s victory a win for Republicans.
“We couldn’t have picked a better candidate,” the adviser said. “I wish we could take credit for secretly funding her, but this wasn’t us.” 
President Trump similarly called El-Sayed’s victory in Michigan “great news” for the Republican Party.

Dem Knives Are Out For Hakeem Jeffries After Secret Jared Kushner Meeting

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) drew a sharp distinction Sunday between the Democratic Party and the agenda of the Democratic Socialists of America, saying he does not support the organization’s positions on issues including policing, immigration and the Senate.
“I don’t support the DSA agenda as has been articulated by the DSA itself,” Jeffries said during an appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” His comments came the same morning Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, a potential 2028 presidential candidate, <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/rahm-emanuel-on-trump-the-left-and-whats-right-for-america/">told</a> CBS News that progressives should not use the Democratic Party as a vehicle because &#8220;they&#8217;re a separate party&#8221; — adding, in nearly the same construction Jeffries would use, &#8220;I don&#8217;t believe in defunding police. I don&#8217;t believe in open borders.&#8221;
“I do not support defunding the police. I do not support open borders. I do not support abolishing the Senate,” Jeffries said. Instead, Jeffries said House Democrats are focused on what he described as the “Democratic agenda”: lowering the cost of living, making housing and health care more affordable and addressing the affordability crisis.
His comments come as Democratic socialists and their allies have made significant gains in Democratic primaries across the country, prompting an increasingly public debate among party leaders and establishment-aligned Democrats over how far left the party should move.
Moderate Democrats are <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/how-some-dems-are-preparing-for-the-next-war-against-socialists">already organizing</a> against the DSA&#8217;s growing influence. Third Way President Jonathan Cowan <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2026/08/06/us/politics/democratic-party-socialists-moderates.html">told</a> The New York Times earlier this month that his organization is launching a $15 million effort through 2028 to discredit democratic socialism through opposition research, polling, social media campaigns and efforts to educate Democratic activists and leaders. &#8220;We are preparing for the next war that is coming,&#8221; Cowan said.
The effort followed a string of primary victories by socialist and left-insurgent candidates, most notably Abdul El-Sayed&#8217;s <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/abdul-el-sayed-secures-far-lefts-biggest-victory-yet-over-dem-establishment'">narrow victory</a> over of establishment-backed Rep. Haley Stevens (D-MI) in Michigan&#8217;s Democratic Senate primary. El-Sayed will face Republican Mike Rogers in November for the seat being vacated by retiring Democratic Sen. Gary Peters — a race Democrats likely must win to have any path to a Senate majority.
El-Sayed is not a DSA member and calls himself a capitalist, but Cowan accused him of running a DSA-style campaign without the membership card — what Cowan calls the &#8220;DSA dodge,&#8221; courting socialist organizations and their voters for organizing muscle while declining to formally identify with the group.
Jeffries stopped short of saying that DSA-aligned candidates cannot be part of the Democratic Party. “You’re going to have individual members who have been elected in Democratic primaries, and if they are elected in the general in November, will be part of the House Democratic Caucus,” Jeffries said.
He acknowledged that the caucus would include members from across the party’s ideological spectrum. “It’s going to be a broad caucus,” Jeffries said. “There will be progressives, there will be New Dems, there will be Blue Dogs.” But when pressed on whether there is room in the Democratic Party for democratic socialists, Jeffries reiterated that he does not endorse the DSA’s stated agenda.
Asked whether he would bring a vote to abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement to the House floor if Democrats retake the majority, Jeffries repeatedly called instead for “dramatic” reform of the agency. &#8220;We’re committed to dramatically reforming ICE,” Jeffries said, while calling for measures including body cameras, judicial warrants for home searches and greater accountability for ICE agents.
Jeffries also said he does not currently support Medicare for All, despite having co-sponsored such legislation from 2013 through 2021. “No,” Jeffries said when asked whether he personally supports Medicare for All. “I haven’t co-sponsored the Medicare for All legislation that has been introduced over the last several years.”
Jeffries ultimately returned to the central message he said Democrats intend to take into the November midterms: affordability. “We’re focused on November 3rd, not January 3rd,” Jeffries said, arguing that Democratic candidates should campaign on lowering the cost of groceries, gas, housing and health care.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio recently stated a plain truth that too many have ignored: <a href="https://statedept.substack.com/p/countering-the-resurgence-of-political">the first duty of any government is to protect its people</a>. Yet for years, many of our institutions have maintained a shameful blind spot when it comes to far-left violence. They dismissed riots as &#8220;mostly peaceful protests&#8221; while cities burned. They excused firebombs, assaults, and political intimidation so long as they were wrapped in the language of &#8220;justice&#8221; or &#8220;equity.&#8221;
This is not an abstract threat. Secretary Rubio pointed to victims across the West: a 72-year-old Greek grandmother burned alive, an arson attack that left tens of thousands of Berlin homes without power, leading to the death of an 83-year-old woman, and a young Frenchman beaten to death in Lyon. In recent days, authorities launched a terrorism investigation after 78-year-old former Conservative cabinet minister and Reform UK spokeswoman <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026/jul/21/ann-widdecombe-was-hit-on-head-repeatedly-with-hammer-court-told">Ann Widdecombe</a> was brutally bludgeoned to death, suffering 21 blows from a hammer.
Here in America, we&#8217;ve witnessed <a href="https://www.ice.gov/news/releases/ice-reports-second-death-dallas-sniper-attack-after-detainee-succumbs-injuries">sniper attacks on Border Patrol agents</a>, execution-style murders, multiple assassination attempts against <a href="https://ballotpedia.org/Attempted_assassinations_of_Donald_Trump,_2024">President Trump</a>, and the heartbreaking killing of <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/charlie-kirk-murder-spurs-first-in-the-nation-state-political-violence-hate-crime-legislation">Charlie Kirk</a>, a husband and father who was gunned down while speaking to students. These are not statistics. They are shattered families and lives cut short.
Too often, prominent Democrats have fueled this climate with reckless rhetoric. <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2018/06/25/politics/maxine-waters-trump-officials/index.html">Rep. Maxine Waters</a> (D-CA) famously urged supporters to confront members of the Trump administration in public, telling crowds they should make them feel unwelcome &#8220;anywhere.&#8221; Senate Democratic Leader <a href="https://www.congress.gov/119/meeting/house/118401/documents/HHRG-119-JU03-20250624-SD005-U5.pdf">Chuck Schumer</a> (D-NY) stood on the steps of the Supreme Court and warned Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh that they had &#8220;released the whirlwind&#8221; and would &#8220;pay the price.&#8221; These incendiary remarks are not just relegated to the past, but are ongoing calls to action from Democrat leadership.
Anti-law enforcement rhetoric has polluted even the highest levels of Democrat leadership, with House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) just this past week referring to ICE as <a href="https://nypost.com/2026/07/21/us-news/100-dsa-dem-lawmakers-sign-letter-pushing-schumer-jeffries-to-hop-on-abolish-ice-bandwagon/">“Donald Trump’s violent mass deportation machine,”</a> and in April stating that  <a href="https://www.axios.com/2026/04/27/hakeem-jeffries-trump-whcd-maximum-warfare">“We are in an era of maximum warfare, everywhere, all the time.”</a> That is not the language of civil disagreement. When national leaders normalize rhetoric that casts political opponents as enemies, they do not calm tensions — they inflame them.
Just this past Monday, <a href="https://abcnews.com/US/man-custody-after-setting-off-incendiary-device-federal/story?id=134916208">Andrew Arrabaca</a>, “a man described as an ‘anti-government extremist’ set off an ‘incendiary device’ to set a fire outside a Manhattan federal building that houses an immigration court.” Arrabaca proudly said he was OK with hurting or killing people and was found with anti-ICE literature.
Today, that hostility has become institutionalized through efforts like <a href="https://www.fox5dc.com/video/fmc-az9f4rj9vh0ie6ub">&#8220;Project 2029,&#8221;</a> a sweeping progressive agenda that proposes dramatically expanding executive authority and bypassing Congress to advance its objectives. At the same time, in addition to smears of “fascism,” <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/hakeem-jeffries-democratic-leader-face-the-nation-transcript-10-26-2025/">leading Democrats</a> have repeatedly described conservatives as an &#8220;existential threat to democracy.&#8221; When political opponents are portrayed as enemies of the republic, it should surprise no one that unstable individuals feel justified in resorting to violence.
This pattern extends far beyond the United States. Slogans such as &#8220;Punch a Nazi&#8221; and &#8220;by any means necessary&#8221; have become cultural rallying cries. Mainstream conservatives, churchgoers, parents at school board meetings, and anyone who dissents from progressive orthodoxy are routinely portrayed as extremists. Major media outlets, academia, Hollywood, and influential advocacy organizations reinforce this narrative every day. When people are repeatedly told their neighbors are evil, some eventually decide violence is justified.
These extremists cannot build; they can only destroy. They target power grids, pipelines, schools, police officers, and public institutions because they seek to undermine the very foundations of a free society. They despise what America represents because it stands for opportunity, liberty, and individual responsibility.
Enough is enough.
I stand with President Trump, Secretary Rubio, and every nation willing to confront political violence wherever it originates. We must dismantle violent transnational extremist networks, Antifa, anarchists, and their foreign enablers through stronger intelligence sharing, aggressive prosecution of criminal acts, defunding violent organizations, and securing our borders.
The civilized world is watching. Our children are watching. We have a duty to defend the values that built this country and ensure future generations inherit a nation where families can live in safety and freedom. The old double standard is dead. May God give us the courage and the fortitude to meet that responsibility.

The threats to President Donald Trump and his administration are growing rapidly.
The Secret Service has investigated approximately 10,000 threats against its protectees, including President Trump, in the first half of this year, the head of the agency revealed Wednesday, <a href="https://nypost.com/2026/07/23/us-news/threats-to-us-officials-reach-unprecedented-numbers-ahead-of-rescheduled-white-house-correspondents-dinner-secret-service-boss-says/">according</a> to The New York Post.

Her apology caused her popularity to rise 20% with Democrats who think the “Super Mario Galaxy” movie is a documentary.
Chevalier also defended a plank in the socialist platform that declares, “We hate Jews.” PhD Chevalier said, “Criticizing Israel is not antisemitism, and when we say we hate Jews, we are criticizing Israel, because they have so many Jews there, and we hate those people.”

Jeffries went on to defend his ignorance regarding the furor surrounding a high-profile Democratic candidate by saying that he was only concerned with winning back control of the House of Representatives.
&#8220;I haven&#8217;t talked to [Rep.] Ro Khanna (D-CA) about this particular race, and in fact, I haven&#8217;t gotten involved in this particular race because we’re focused on taking control of the House of Representatives,&#8221; he added.
Khanna attempted to walk the line on Platner, saying that he believed the women who had come forward alleging that the Maine Democrat&#8217;s behavior was troubling. But Khanna stopped short of withdrawing his support for Platner — and even campaigned with him over the weekend — saying that he would certainly withdraw support if and when he saw evidence that the troubling behavior had ever escalated to violence.

Democrats are up in arms over a decision by the Virginia Supreme Court that overturns their attempt to gerrymander the commonwealth’s Republican voters to the brink of oblivion. Virginia is considered a purple state where Kamala Harris won against Donald Trump by only about six percent of the voters, many of whom simply thought having an idiot president with a lunatic cackle might be the funnier choice.
But the gerrymander would have changed the commonwealth’s districts from a representative six blue versus five red, to an admittedly hilarious but totally unfair ten blue districts versus one red. The lone Republican district would be ringed in by high walls topped with barbed wire, while all voting booths would be located in the blue districts.
The court ruled that the ballot measure allowing the change violated procedural rules laid out in the Virginia Constitution under its &#8220;Don’t be a Schmuck&#8221; clause, which requires laws to be written by people who are not schmucks or can at least pretend not to be schmucks for ten straight minutes or, if that’s too much to ask, can at least ACT like they’re not schmucks for ten minutes even though everyone knows they are.
In a frantic group phone call among some of the Democratic Party’s top schmucks, schmucks from around the country expressed their concern at the court&#8217;s decision.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, a huge schmuck, said the Virginia Court’s move was part of a nationwide conspiracy against the Democrat party. The schmuck said:

That’s exactly what we’ve been trying to put a stop to since the Republicans won the Civil War. Next, the Virginia Supreme Court says we&#8217;re violating the rule of law, and I’m, like, ‘What? What the hell are they even talking about?’ And now, Republicans in Congress want to require voters to have picture identification, which would limit the electorate to living people who actually exist. That’s a blatant attempt to disenfranchise imaginary Democrats across and under this great nation. And the only reason the Republicans haven’t been able to pass a voter ID law supported by 84 percent of the people is that none of them realize yet that their Senate Leader, John Thune, passed away last August. They think he’s just totally ineffective. Wait till they find out we propped him up in his seat and had him embalmed!”

As the group phone call continued, the Democrats started to strategize how to overturn the court’s decision. One idea was to lower the required retirement age of Virginia judges from the current 73 years old to two, so that the present judges would have to step down and could be replaced by judges who don’t know what’s in the Constitution and are dependent on others to feed them, either because they’re only two years old or just because they’re Democrats, I’m not sure which.
Another idea was to wait till election night, pretend there were water main leaks in voting venues, stop the count, then smuggle in boxes of fake ballots, and get The New York Times to run articles claiming it was the least corrupt election ever. But that idea was ultimately rejected, because Democrats felt no one would fall for such a silly trick twice.
Finally, Virginia Attorney General Jay Jones, a stupid schmuck, tried to file a motion to overturn the Virginia Court’s ruling to the United States Supreme Court. Jones wrote the motion — and God help me, I am not making this part up — he wrote the motion in which the speaker of the “Virgnia” House of Delegates, appealed against a State “Sentator” and then he filed the misspelt motion with the VIRGINIA Supreme Court instead of the United States Supreme Court, which has no jurisdiction in the matter anyway. When told he should have used a hot little item called spellcheck to help him write the motion, Attorney General Jones remarked, “Oh good, there’s nothing I like better than a hot check. Maybe I can sentate her some flounders and show her around Virgnia.”

To Jeffries, this wasn&#8217;t a power grab; it was a &#8220;big victory for America&#8221; and a &#8220;march toward a more perfect union.&#8221; Apparently, a &#8220;more perfect union&#8221; looks exactly like a map where half the voters get 90% of the representation.
Jeffries and the &#8220;Dollar-Store Obama&#8221; brigade framed this as a noble &#8220;firewall&#8221; against the orange man in the White House. Even Barack Obama emerged from his latest Netflix production to explain that gerrymandering is actually fine, as long as Democrats do it to &#8220;level the playing field.&#8221; It’s a bold strategy: saving democracy by destroying it first.
But fast forward to Monday, April 27, and Jeffries has suddenly rediscovered the sanctity of &#8220;Fair Districts.&#8221; The moment Florida Governor Ron DeSantis suggested that the Sunshine State—which has seen a decade of growth in just three years—might need its own mid-decade tune-up, Jeffries’s halo reappeared.
Jeffries took to X to huff and puff about &#8220;blatant partisan gerrymandering&#8221; and &#8220;nakedly targeting communities of color.&#8221; He actually wrote, &#8220;See you in Court,&#8221; without a hint of a blush, despite the fact that a Virginia judge just tossed his own party’s referendum into the trash for being unconstitutional.

DeSantis, ever the happy warrior, has <a href="https://twitter.com/EricLDaugh/status/2047020226785493096">responded</a> by offering to pay for Jeffries’ plane ticket to Florida. He even offered to take him fishing.
It’s a generous offer: Jeffries could use the time on the water to practice his latest trick—complaining about the &#8220;rigged system&#8221; in Florida while the ink is still wet on his own attempt to rig Virginia.
If Jeffries wants a war, he’s found a battlefield, but he might want to check his own backyard before he starts crying about the neighbors&#8217; fences.

Mamdani’s friendship with Piker calls into question his condemnation of violence; Piker has <a href="https://x.com/RNCResearch/status/2041540038714929217">called</a> for the murder of Florida GOP Senator Rick Scott, as well as saying of property owners, “Kill them. Kill those motherf*ckers and murder those motherf*ckers in the street. Mamdani’s wife, Rama Duwaji, <a href="https://jewishinsider.com/2026/03/zohran-mamdani-wife-rama-duwaji-social-media-oct-7/">reportedly &#8220;liked&#8221;</a> Instagram posts on the day of the October 7 Hamas massacre that featured live-streamed footage of terrorists breaching the Gaza border and commandeering Israel Defense Forces vehicles. One post she approved of hailed the attack as &#8220;breaking the walls of apartheid.&#8221;
More recently, Duwaji <a href="https://www.thefp.com/p/nyc-first-lady-liked-post-oct-7-rape-hoax">liked a post</a> that dismissed the documented mass rapes of Israeli women during the October 7 attacks as a &#8220;mass hoax&#8221; fabricated by the media.
Meanwhile, Democrat Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wrote: “There is no place for political violence in our country. I am relieved that the President and the attendees at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner last night are safe.”

She ranted that she would not attend Trump’s 2025 inauguration, <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NbOmsLTt_t4">saying</a>, “Let me make myself clear. I don’t celebrate rapists. &#8230; We are on the eve of an authoritarian administration.”
It might be instructive to note one of the motivations Cole Tomas Allen — the suspect in the shooting at the White House Correspondents&#8217; Dinner — cited for his actions was that Trump was a “rapist.” He wrote in his <a href="https://nypost.com/2026/04/26/us-news/read-whcd-gunman-cole-allens-full-anti-trump-manifesto/">manifesto</a>, &#8220;I am no longer willing to permit a pedophile, rapist, and traitor to coat my hands with his crimes.&#8221;
Jeffries wrote: “Thankful for the swift law enforcement action to protect everyone from gunfire at the White House Correspondents Dinner. Praying for the safety of those who may remain in harm’s way. The violence and chaos in America must end.”
