New Mexico Democratic Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham went full feminist, declaring that Democrats don&#8217;t need male votes. 
“If women, Democratic women, just show up and vote, we’re good. We don’t need any of the men.” 
Grisham made the remarks during a Democratic National Committee meeting on Thursday, focused on preparations for the 2028 presidential election.
As provocative as the remark may sound, the electoral trends behind it are real. Democrats are increasingly dependent on women voters, who have been the driving force behind many of the party&#8217;s recent victories.
Democratic governors Abigail Spanberger (VA) and Mikie Sherrill (NJ) both won overwhelming support from women while receiving far weaker support from men. Spanberger won the support of <a href="https://cawp.rutgers.edu/blog/women-voters-key-democratic-gubernatorial-wins-2025">65%</a>  of women voters but just 48% of men. Sherrill posted a similar divide, carrying <a href="https://cawp.rutgers.edu/blog/women-voters-key-democratic-gubernatorial-wins-2025">62%</a>  of women while receiving support from 49% of men.
The broader electorate reflects the same pattern. According to the Public Policy Institute of California, women are substantially more likely than men to identify with the Democratic Party. Women also vote at higher rates than men. In the 2024 election, approximately <a href="https://www.lwv.org/blog/report-women-voters-numbers-2024">91.3 million</a> women cast ballots, compared with 82.6 million men.
Experts have spent decades trying to explain the growing gender gap.
“Women consistently rank healthcare, education, and social safety nets as top priorities, while men more frequently emphasize economic growth, national security, and fiscal responsibility,” <a href="https://rebeccakreitzer.com/blog/how-gender-influences-political-opinions-in-america-2025/?utm_source=chatgpt.com">writes</a> University of North Carolina Associate Professor of Public Policy Rebecca J. Kreitzer. 
According to Kreitzer, the modern gender gap emerged during the 1980 presidential election and has steadily widened ever since. What was a relatively modest four-to-six-point difference in the 1980s grew to roughly 12-to-15 points in a majority of races by 2020.
Roosevelt Institute Suzanne Kahn <a href="https://time.com/5903399/gender-gap-politics/?utm_source=chatgpt.com">tied</a> the decline to women voting for “their economic interests” that Democrats have targeted through government programs and benefits.  
“The two parties’ increasing polarization around cultural issues might have been grabbing headlines, but women were looking at their wallets when deciding who to vote for, and one party was clearly doing more for them,” Kahn wrote. 
The gender gap is amplified by another reality: women participate in elections at higher rates than men. According to Rutgers University&#8217;s <a href="https://cawp.rutgers.edu/data/voters/gender-differences-voter-registration-and-turnout?utm_source=chatgpt.com">Center</a> for American Women and Politics, “Women have registered and voted at higher rates than men in every presidential election since 1980.”
The DNC’s recently released 2024 election autopsy <a href="https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/4-takeaways-from-the-dncs-long-awaited-2024-election-autopsy-report?utm_source=chatgpt.com">acknowledged</a> the party’s struggles with male voters and concluded they required “direct engagement.” The report recommended that Democrats “deploy male messengers, address economic concerns, and don&#8217;t assume identity politics will hold male voters of color.”
Grisham&#8217;s comments reflect a broader reality for Democrats. As women have become the party&#8217;s most reliable voting bloc, party strategists are searching for ways to attract men to their cause.

On April 6, The Free Press ran a <a href="https://www.thefp.com/p/why-the-vatican-and-the-white-house">story</a> claiming the Pentagon summoned the Vatican&#8217;s apostolic nuncio to a meeting, and invoked the Avignon Papacy, threatening the Vatican. The <a href="https://x.com/DOWResponse/status/2042300020494418303">Department of War</a>, <a href="https://x.com/BrianBurchUSA/status/2042307511504519366">Ambassador Brian Burch</a>, and the <a href="https://www.ewtnnews.com/vatican/media-narrative-about-nuncio-s-pentagon-meeting-untrue-vatican-says">Vatican</a> all put out statements saying the &#8220;threatening&#8221; meeting story is completely untrue. DNC progressive Catholic operative Christopher Hale, however, spent all week pushing and amplifying the story even after it was shown to be false.
On April 9, Pope Leo XIV <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/chicago/news/pope-leo-xiv-meeting-david-axelrod-obama-advisor/">met with</a> David Axelrod, the former senior advisor to President Obama. Then, on April 10, the Pope made a clearly <a href="https://x.com/Pontifex/status/2042588417578668338">pacifist, anti-war statement</a> aimed at the Trump administration. To cap it all off, CBS aired a &#8220;60 Minutes&#8221; episode on Sunday, April 12, with three of the most liberal cardinals in the American Catholic Church who spoke in opposition to the Iran war and against the deportation of illegal aliens. Meanwhile, social media erupted with provocative arguments over who is to blame for America’s moral and spiritual collapse: Catholics or Protestants?
Without a doubt, there is a political operation underway to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/pope-leo-responds-after-trump-calls-him-weak?author=Jacob+Wheeler&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Pope+Leo+Responds+After+Trump+Calls+Him+%E2%80%98Weak%E2%80%99">set up a confrontation</a> between the Vatican and the United States. The goal is to divide conservative Catholic voters from the Evangelical bloc — an established and battle-tested political tactic, cynical and craven as it may be. This has the fingerprints of the DNC and NGO operatives all over it, and the liberal progressives within the Catholic Church are working in their service.
Non-Catholic Americans need to understand there is a serious intra-Catholic war going on between the liberal progressives within the Church and those who are trying to keep the Church faithful to its 2,000 years of Biblical teaching. This war has been hot since the Second Vatican Council in the 1960s. Just like the Protestant progressives, the Catholic Church has a large segment of that generation that wants to do to Catholicism what the Protestant progressives have done elsewhere, not only on issues like abortion, sexuality, and women&#8217;s ordination, but in the liberalizing of the entire political and social order. Decades ago Pope John Paul II and Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger fought hard against Communists and Socialists within the Church who were using Marxist ideology to form what is now called Liberation Theology — a politicization of the Gospel. Cardinal Ratzinger knew it posed a threat to the distinction between Church and State.
As a well-assimilated Iraqi Christian immigrant to America, who journeyed through different Protestant denominations until I converted to Catholicism ten years ago, I can say without a doubt that the only reason there is such a strong, faithful, intelligent, fruitful Catholic community in America is because of the kind of nation our Protestant brethren founded in 1776. Both Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI praised the freedoms created by the American system — this shared, common freedom Founding Fathers built allows both Protestants/Evangelicals and Catholics to grow without the meddling hand of the government.
One can admire the traditions, customs, and observances of the Catholics in Europe, but they are a small community that hold no sway in the public squares of their countries. In spite of what seems to be a recent increase in Catholic converts in France, Catholicism as an institution, like its political counterpart in Europe has become a “polite and orderly caretakers of the West&#8217;s managed decline,” to use Secretary Marco Rubio&#8217;s words.
Some may boast about the Catholic evangelization of South America centuries ago, but Latin America today offers a different picture: societies in moral decline, an anemic Catholic Church losing people to the Pentecostal movement, and corrupt governments unable to provide even basic safety for their citizens.
American Catholicism has a “conservative” segment for two reasons: the faithful presence of our Evangelical and Protestant brethren, which encourages us to remain steadfast in Scriptural teaching, and the blessed miracle of American religious liberty.
European Catholics complain that American Catholics are more American than Catholic, they phrase it in this way because what they cannot tolerate to say is that American Catholics are overall more faithful Christians than European Catholics. And that faithfulness is the wonderful fruit of being in America.
The reason why America has not fully given itself over to the globalist progressive agenda is due primarily to the Evangelicals who have held the line, and their conservative Catholic counterpart who have partnered with them. These two groups have worked hard together in spite of theological differences. The next destructive ideology that needs defeating is the Islamist totalitarianism of the Islamists seeking world domination. Like Pope John Paul II who stood up against Communism, Pope Leo XIV should be working against that ideology, not chastising the only country in the world that has expansive religious freedoms.
Conservative Christians of all stripes need to see this political op for what it is and hold the line, for the good of us all, and for the good of all American citizens.

The Democratic Party is insisting that basic law enforcement action against illegal immigrants, particularly criminal illegal immigrants, is some sort of violation of the American compact. They are, astonishingly, equating the American system with the Iranian ayatollahs in terms of tyranny. 
That is the case currently being made by Ken Martin, the chair of the Democratic National Committee.
And it’s nuts.

This is incredibly ironic, as the leader of the DNC — the party that has treated Hamas, Hezbollah, and all the various terror arms of Iran as some sort of half-political organizations, treated the Iranian government as a quasi-innocent in the region — now cites Iran as the repressive power to compare to President Trump, the president who actually struck Iran back in June of last year, blowing up their nuclear facility at Fordow.
It&#8217;s also amazing he compares the ayatollahs who are ordering the shooting of thousands of people in the streets to ICE agents enforcing criminal law while obstructed by benighted and misguided people.
“Killing protesters?” The Trump administration is not unleashing ICE to mass-shoot protesters. That&#8217;s insane. That&#8217;s psychotic.
And disgusting.
Ken Martin is out of his mind. “Kidnapping and disappearing legal citizens. Ignoring courts. Threatening critics. Terrorizing communities. That’s authoritarian behavior—anywhere.”
That is absolutely insane. The fact that Ken Martin would say such things is demonstrative of how disconnected the Democratic Party is from reality at its top levels.

He&#8217;s not the only one who&#8217;s saying this, by the way. Representative Eugene Vindman of Virginia said on CNN, &#8220;We need to support the Iranian people in their struggle for freedom and independence. They&#8217;re protesting largely peacefully on the streets. And they&#8217;re being attacked and murdered. And I think, you know, there&#8217;s an irony, obviously, in what we see with ICE on America&#8217;s streets.&#8221;
Peter Baker of The New York Times was on MS NOW, where he declaimed, “People are watching the split screen situation of mass protests in Tehran and mass protests in Minneapolis. And of course, they&#8217;re looking to see how a president handles each of them. And while you really can&#8217;t compare the substance of these two very important issues happening for different parts of the planet, you can, I think, look at the rule of thumb that Donald Trump brings to it.”
“And I think the rule of thumb is pretty simple,” he continued. “If you&#8217;re protesting against a regime he disfavors, he opposes, then you&#8217;re heroes. If you&#8217;re protesting him or his policies, then you are illegitimate. You&#8217;re radicals. You&#8217;re radical Left lunatics.”
That&#8217;s ridiculous. If you are protesting the Ayatollah’s regime — the one where they murder you if you protest; the one where women are forced to wear hijabs; the one where they spread terrorism all over the region while impoverishing their people to the tune of no water or power in their capital — I don&#8217;t see how that is comparable to someone looting gun lockers in ICE vehicles in Minneapolis.
Why do Democrats and the Left embrace this equivalence? The truth is that they make excuses on a consistent basis for some of the worst people in the Middle East while ripping into governments that attempt to fight those people in the Middle East.
There&#8217;s been significantly more ire from the mainstream media at Israel for its action in the Gaza Strip, which was targeted action against a terrorist group hiding behind civilians, than there has been against the Iranian government thus far.
The enemy of good sense is the failure to speak basic truths.
There is a deeper agenda at work, of course. And that deeper agenda has to do with a Democratic party point of view that suggests that the importation of a large number of people from outside the United States inherently makes the United States culturally stronger.
That leads to this agenda: Don&#8217;t enforce immigration law.
The narrative that is being promoted by the Democrats and by the legacy media is that ICE is willy-nilly mass-arresting people for no reason at all based on the color of their skin.
That is a lie.
The vast majority of people that ICE is detaining and actually arresting after detention are criminals.
The Democrats are hoping that a little chaos and willfully misleading people will convince America to give up on immigration enforcement.
They are wrong.

Former Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairwoman, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL), attempted to blame President Donald Trump for the deadly shooting that took place in Washington, D.C., the day before Thanksgiving.
The suspect is an Afghan national, let into the United States during former President Joe Biden&#8217;s administration after the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, who opened fire on National Guard troops in the nation&#8217;s capital. One, SPC. Sarah Beckstrom of West Virginia, has died as a result of her injuries. But according to Wasserman Schultz, Trump was to blame for the horrific ambush attack.

Wasserman Schultz, responding to President Trump&#8217;s plan to go back and revisit the vetting process for the Afghan nationals who were brought into the United States as refugees, noted that in order for someone to have slipped through the cracks, there had to have been failures at a number of levels.
&#8220;We need to make sure that we have tight and appropriate and proper vetting. If there were gaps that admitted this person, they would have failed over multiple levels of gaps, and this individual was trusted enough to participate in assisting our military during the war in Afghanistan,&#8221; Wasserman Schultz said.

She then pivoted to blame Trump, adding, &#8220;The president looks everywhere except inward to blame his own policies. We need to make sure that we don&#8217;t have our military deployed in our cities, handling law enforcement responsibilities, and we need to make sure that we address gun violence. We certainly need to make sure that we always have the proper and appropriate and tight vetting processes and those should be reviewed, but it&#8217;s never the president&#8217;s fault or his policies when it comes to his reaction, and it’s pretty disgusting.&#8221;
What Wasserman Schultz failed to acknowledge, however, was the fact that people like Pentagon spokesman and Army Ranger veteran <a href="https://x.com/Surabees/status/1994030582116876620">Sean Parnell</a> had sounded the alarm even at the time, warning that some Afghans who had been trusted and had worked with American troops on the ground had betrayed them when it mattered.

The most likely employer listed by donors to the Democratic National Committee so far this year is actually no employer at all.
An analysis of donors listed by the DNC in its most <a href="https://www.fec.gov/data/committee/C00010603/?tab=raising">recent federal election filing</a> found that &#8220;not employed&#8221; was the top occupation listed in the filing, donating a total of $12 million so far in 2025.
Following “not employed,” some of the top occupations among DNC donors for 2025 include retired, attorney, physician, consultant, investor, professor, chairman, president, and CEO. 
By contrast, the top ten Republican occupations were retired, CEO, self-employed, chairman, founder, president, homemaker, entrepreneur, and investor. 
The donor profiles also show which states contribute the most. Four states appear on both parties’ top-ten lists: California, New York, Texas, and Illinois.
The Republican National Committee (RNC) gained the most donations in all four. California donors gave $6 million to the DNC but twice as much to the RNC — $12.2 million. New York Donors gave $2.9 million to the DNC compared to $4 million to the RNC. The pattern continued in Illinois with the RNC outpacing the DNC by $700,000. Texas gave $11.7 million to the RNC, compared with $1.5 million to the DNC. 
The DNC currently reports $12 million in cash on hand, while the RNC reports $86 million, revealing a $74 million gap between the two organizations. 
Additionally, the filings revealed <a href="https://www.axios.com/2025/10/22/dnc-kamala-harris-campaign-debt">$1.6 million</a> paid to help pay down Kamala Harris’s 107-day campaign debt. She spent <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kamala-paid-closer-to-2-5-million-for-oprah-sit-down-report-shows">$1.5 billion</a> during her run for the nation’s highest office. Her 2024 presidential campaign was notable for <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kamala-paid-closer-to-2-5-million-for-oprah-sit-down-report-shows">high-profile</a> endorsements and performances by celebrities such as Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Cardi B, Jon Bon Jovi, and Beyoncé.

Martin joined CNN host Dana Bash on Sunday and discussed the state of Democratic fundraising. Bash said the party had been struggling with donors, but Martin disagreed.
 “Fundraising is not going as poorly as you would suggest. We’ve raised a record amount of money in the first eight months of the year,” said Martin, who added that the main driver of funds was from grassroots contributions in small $5, $10, $15 monthly donations.

Republicans are poised to lose their supermajority in the Iowa Senate after a leftist activist defeated a Republican businessman on Tuesday in a special election to fill a vacant seat. 
Democrat Catelyn Drey defeated Republican Christopher Prosch by about 800 votes to win Iowa’s 1st Senate district, <a href="https://wcmelepub.wcicc.com/">according</a> to preliminary election results. Drey, the founder of the leftwing group Moms for Iowa, earned 55% of the vote. 
&#8220;I’m just really incredibly honored that the folks in Senate District 1 believed in this campaign as much as the team did and I am looking forward to representing them well,&#8221; Drey <a href="https://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/news/politics/2025/08/26/democrat-catelin-drey-wins-iowa-senate-special-election-defeats-republican-christopher-prosch/85819325007/">told</a> The Des Moines Register. 
Drey’s victory shifts the balance of the state Senate, leaving Republicans one seat short of a supermajority. Republicans still hold 33 of the state’s 50 Senate seats. Two-thirds of the Senate is needed to confirm state appointees, so Democrats could block anyone nominated by GOP Governor Kim Reynolds if they all vote in solidarity. 
The special election was called after Republican Senator Rocky De Witt died from pancreatic cancer earlier this summer. De Witt won the seat back in 2022 with 55% of the vote.  The district is located in Woodbury County, an area that backed President Donald Trump in the 2024 election with 61% of the vote.

Drey’s Moms for Iowa group backs action to support abortion and gun control. She was <a href="https://www.plannedparenthoodaction.org/planned-parenthood-advocates-iowa/sd-1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">endorsed </a>by Planned Parenthood, which called her a “Reproductive Freedom Champion.” 
Democrats celebrated the victory, claiming that it was an indictment of Trump. 
“Iowans are seeing Republicans for who they are: self-serving liars who will throw their constituents under the bus to rubber-stamp Donald Trump’s disastrous agenda — and they’re ready for change,” Democrat National Committee Chair Ken Martin said. “They are putting Republicans on notice and making it crystal clear: any Republican pushing Trump’s unpopular, extreme agenda has no place governing on behalf of Iowa families.”
Iowa GOP Chair Jeff Kaufmann said the result was a flood of out-of-state money and volunteers activated by the Democrats. 
“National Democrats were so desperate for a win that they activated 30,000 volunteers and a flood of national money to win a state senate special election by a few hundred votes,” he <a href="https://x.com/kaufmannGOP/status/1960526514040266793">posted</a> on X. “If [the DNC] thinks things are suddenly so great again for them in Iowa, they will bring back the caucuses.”

Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) took a page from former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton&#8217;s failed 2016 playbook on Monday, taking her &#8220;basket of deplorables&#8221; comment to new lows as he trashed Republican voters at the Democratic Party&#8217;s summer meeting.
Walz began by attacking President Donald Trump&#8217;s efforts to root out Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies and claiming that the Democratic Party should lean in and protect them. The failed vice presidential candidate — who deployed his own state&#8217;s National Guard to enforce draconian COVID-era restrictions — went on to complain about Trump using the National Guard to assist local law enforcement in cracking down on crime.

Walz pivoted to attack the press, complaining that there was no basis for media claims that there was a &#8220;division&#8221; within the Democratic Party. &#8220;There&#8217;s a division in my damn house and we&#8217;re still married and things are good! That&#8217;s life.&#8221;
When he turned to address Republicans, however, he could not hide his disdain: &#8220;Think of how easy it would be to be a damn Republican. &#8216;Oh what should I wear today? The Minnesota governor — who just a few short years ago had encouraged his state&#8217;s citizens to rat out their neighbors if they weren&#8217;t following COVID regulations — claimed that Trump&#8217;s policies were &#8220;fascist,&#8221; and it was important to say that out loud.
&#8220;I always get in trouble for it, I&#8217;ll continue to say it. I don&#8217;t think we do any favors when we don&#8217;t name it. These are fascist policies,&#8221; he said. &#8220;That is what they are &#8230; Now he&#8217;s talking about burning flags. The Democratic Party&#8217;s summer meetings just began, and former strategist Dan Turrentine said that he has already had enough.
Turrentine made an appearance on Monday&#8217;s broadcast of &#8220;The Ingraham Angle&#8221; on Fox News, where he argued that his party was continuing to do the things they had always done — things that he argued were making them weaker as a party rather than stronger.

True to Turrentine&#8217;s assessment, Democratic National Committee Chairman Ken Martin opened the meeting — following the Pledge of Allegiance — by introducing someone to give a &#8220;land acknowledgement&#8221; for the location of the meeting.
&#8220;Now please welcome a friend of mine from the Minnesota DFL, the treasurer, her name is Lindy Sowmick, who is from the Saginaw Ojibwe Nation and she’s going to deliver our land acknowledgment today,&#8221; Martin said.
Martin also raged against Trump and his &#8220;authoritarian&#8221; tendencies during the meeting, promising, &#8220;Democrats, make no mistake, a storm is coming. In fact, it’s already here. Rising inequality, attacks on democracy, voter suppression, and a fascist regime that doesn’t play by the rules.&#8221;

Ken Martin, the chair of the Democratic National Committee, celebrated the fact that people in his party embrace “Globalize the Intifada,” contending that you “win through addition” and the party should “celebrate” the difference of opinion.
“Globalize the Intifada” <a href="https://www.ajc.org/news/what-does-globalize-the-intifada-mean-and-how-can-it-lead-to-targeting-jews-with-violence">is</a> a “phrase used by pro-Palestinian activists that calls for aggressive resistance against Israel and those who support Israel. The most prominent expressions of intifada have been through violence so this phrase is often understood by those saying and hearing it as encouraging violence against Israelis, Jews, and institutions supporting Israel,” according to the American Jewish Committee.
During the most recent terrorist intifada, over a thousand Israelis were killed, predominantly civilians. During an interview on PBS Newshour, host Amna Nawaz asked the Democratic chairman about New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani refusing to condemn the incendiary phrase: “What about concerns from some of your Jewish colleagues in particular about him not outright condemning the phrase ‘Globalize the Intifada’ in a recent interview? Some of your Jewish colleagues have said that that could be very disturbing, potentially dangerous. Do you agree with that?”
Martin said he&#8217;s happy to have that point of view in the Democratic coalition.
“There’s no candidate in this party I agree 100% of the time with, to be honest with you,” Martin answered. “There’s things that I don’t agree with Mamdani that he said. But at the end of the day, I always believe, as a Democratic Party chair in Minnesota for the last 14 years and now the chair of the DNC, that you win through addition. You win by bringing people into your coalition.”
“We have conservative Democrats. We have centrist Democrats. We have labor progressives like me, and we have this new brand of Democrat, which is the leftist,” he stated. “And we win by bringing people into that coalition. And at the end of the day, for me, that’s the type of party we’re going to lead. We are a big-tent party. Yes, it leads to dissent and debate and there’s differences of opinions on a whole host of issues, but we should celebrate that as a party and recognize at the end of the day, we’re better because of it.”
Yet prior to that statement in which Martin spoke of including all perspectives, he made it clear that political positions were secondary to the need to regain power, declaring, “We can’t just be in a perpetual state of resisting Donald Trump. Of course, we have to resist Donald Trump. There’s no doubt about it for all the reasons we just talked about, but we also have to give people a sense of what we’re for, what the Democratic Party is fighting for, and what we would do if they put us back in power. And that’s really critical.”

Just between May 2001 and May 2002, prior to the bombing at Hebrew University, there were these massacres: five Israelis murdered by a suicide bomber at the HaSharon Mall in May 2001; 21 Israelis murdered by a suicide bomber at the Dolphinarium Discotheque in June 2001; 15 Israelis murdered by a suicide bomber at Sbarro’s Pizza in August 2001, including six children and a 31-year-old woman who was the only child of her parents and was five months pregnant; 11 Israelis murdered in a bus bombing on Ben Yehuda Street in Jerusalem on December 1, 2001; 15 more Israelis murdered the very next day in a Haifa suicide bombing; 11 more Israelis murdered in a bus attack 10 days later in Immanuel; six Israelis murdered in an attack at a bat-mitzvah in January 2002; 11 more Jews killed in an attack on a yeshiva in March 2002, including a five-month-old child; 11 Jews murdered in a bombing at Café Moment in March 2002; 30 Israelis killed as they celebrated Passover in Netanya on March 27, 2002; 16 Israelis murdered in a suicide bombing four days later at the Matza restaurant, and 16 Israelis murdered in Rishon LeZion in May 2002.

American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten resigned from the board of the Democratic National Committee after more than 23 years, citing disagreements with new leadership.
“I appear to be out of step with the leadership you are forging, and I do not want to be the one who keeps questioning why we are not enlarging our tent and actively trying to engage more of our communities,” Weingarten wrote in her June 5 <a href="https://www.politico.com/f/?id=00000197-75eb-da2a-a9bf-7feba2f90000" target="_blank" rel="noopener">resignation letter</a>.
Weingarten, who leads the nation’s second-largest teachers’ union, opposed DNC Chairman Ken Martin in February’s election. Upon becoming chair, Martin removed Weingarten from her longstanding position on the Rules and Bylaws Committee.
Weeks before Weingarten resigned, American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees President Lee Saunders also stepped down from the DNC. On May 27, Saunders wrote that “public service workers are facing unprecedented attacks,” a challenge which “demands unwavering focus.”
“In that spirit, and with deep respect, I must decline your nomination to the DNC,” Saunders wrote, according to The <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2025/06/15/randi-weingarten-democratic-national-committee/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Washington Post.</a>
Saunders further <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/06/15/us/politics/randi-weingarten-dnc-ken-martin.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">explained</a> his decision to resign in a statement to The New York Times, saying, “We must evolve to meet the urgency of this moment. This is not a time to close ranks or turn inward.”
“This amounts to the exit of two of the highest-profile union leaders aligned with the Democratic Party,” The New York Times’ Shane Goldmacher <a href="https://x.com/ShaneGoldmacher/status/1934441042016645243" target="_blank" rel="noopener">posted</a> on X.
The two resignations are the latest signs of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dei-claims-another-scalp-dnc-diversity-rules-oust-david-hogg?author=Hank+Berrien&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=0&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=DEI+Claims+Another+Scalp%3A+DNC+Diversity+Rules+Oust+David+Hogg" target="_blank" rel="noopener">internal conflict</a> at the DNC. Two vice chairs were voted out last week, including 25-year-old activist David Hogg, whose controversial $20 million project to back younger Democratic candidates over their “out-of-touch, ineffective” incumbent seniors was supported by Weingarten.
This caused tension between Hogg and the chairman, who told the Gen Z activist he would have to leave if he wanted to continue with the project.
“If you want to challenge incumbents, you’re more than free to do that, but just not as an officer of the DNC, because our job is to be neutral arbiters,” Martin said. “We can’t be both the referee and also the player at the same time. You have to make a decision.”
In leaked video footage of a Zoom meeting, Martin told Hogg, &#8220;The other night I said to myself for the first time, ‘I don’t know if I want to do this anymore&#8217;&#8230;you essentially destroyed any chance I have to show the leadership that I need to.”
This feud led to Hogg’s removal, though the DNC claimed the vote was occasioned by a failure to adhere to gender diversity protocols in the previous election.
“I ran to be DNC Vice Chair to help make the Democratic Party better, not to defend an indefensible status quo that has caused voters in almost every demographic group to move away from us,” Hogg said.
Saunders and Weingarten aren’t the only ones souring on the Democratic Party. According to a recent <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2025/03/16/politics/cnn-poll-democrats" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CNN poll</a>, more than half of “Democratic-aligned adults” say the party is heading “in the wrong direction.” When asked which Democratic leader best represents the values of the party, “More than 30% didn’t offer a name in response.&#8221;
“No one,” one respondent answered. “That’s the problem.”

David Hogg, of 1270 SAT fame, who was elected Democratic National Committee Vice-Chair earlier this year, saw his job evaporate on Wednesday, as the DNC voted overwhelmingly to hold new elections for the position.
“In a 294-99 vote that concluded Wednesday, DNC members agreed to move forward with redoing the contest earlier this year that elected Hogg and another Democrat, Malcolm Kenyatta, as vice chairs,” The Washington Post <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2025/06/11/dnc-vote-david-hogg-democrats/">reported</a>. “The DNC will now vote from Thursday through Saturday — and then Sunday through Tuesday — to fill the two slots, which both men can seek again.”
In April, Hogg’s group, Leaders We Deserve, revealed it would spend $20 million to primary “out-of-touch, ineffective” incumbent House Democrats. Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairman Ken Martin said he gave Hogg an ultimatum, recalling, “As I&#8217;ve said to him, ‘If you want to challenge incumbents, you&#8217;re more than free to do that, but just not as an officer of the DNC, because our job is to be neutral arbiters. Kalyn Free of Oklahoma, an activist who had aimed for the position of DNC Vice Chair, claimed the DNC broke its rules on gender diversity in the election that handed Hogg his seat. In May, the DNC Credentials Committee then agreed to hold new elections.
“Today, the DNC took its first steps to remove me from my position as Vice Chair At-Large. While this vote was based on how the DNC conducted its officers’ elections, which I had nothing to do with, it is also impossible to ignore the broader context of my work to reform the party which loomed large over this vote,”  Hogg said.
“I ran to be DNC Vice Chair to help make the Democratic Party better, not to defend an indefensible status quo that has caused voters in almost every demographic group to move away from us,” he added. “The DNC has pledged to remove me, and this vote has provided an avenue to fast-track that effort.”

Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chair Ken Martin became emotional during a recent call as he voiced his frustration with longtime activist and Vice Chair David Hogg, complaining that Hogg&#8217;s interference was preventing him from leading the party effectively.
POLITICO published a <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2025/06/08/martin-hogg-call-private-meeting-00393517">report</a> on Sunday sharing audio obtained from a May 15 Zoom meeting that included the DNC&#8217;s officers — and Martin could be heard criticizing Hogg for exacerbating divisions within the Democratic Party and complaining that made it impossible for him to implement any kind of cohesive strategy as the 2026 midterm elections approached.
&#8220;I’ll be very honest with you, for the first time in my 100 days on this job … the other night I said to myself for the first time, I don’t know if I wanna do this anymore,&#8221; Martin said.
The crux of Martin&#8217;s problem appeared to be Hogg&#8217;s promise to use the leftist organization Leaders We Deserve — where he serves as president — to funnel millions of dollars into primary campaigns against older and less progressive Democrats. But Hogg&#8217;s efforts to bring in fresh leadership have angered a number within the party — especially because, as an officer of the DNC, his primary job is to ensure that Democrats get elected — and have deepened the divisions that were already tearing at the fabric of the party nationwide.
Martin addressed Hogg directly during the meeting, saying, &#8220;No one knows who the hell I am, right? I’m trying to get my sea legs underneath of me and actually develop any amount of credibility so I can go out there and raise the money and do the job I need to put ourselves in a position to win. And again, I don’t think you intended this, but you essentially destroyed any chance I have to show the leadership that I need to. So it’s really frustrating.&#8221;
Martin is far from the only Democrat who voiced frustration with Hogg&#8217;s plan. Longtime strategist <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-honeymoon-is-over-longtime-dem-strategist-trashes-contemptible-little-twerp-david-hogg">James Carville</a> referred to Hogg as a &#8220;contemptible little twerp&#8221; and suggested that donors could potentially sue him for working against party interests while being paid by the DNC.
According to POLITICO, Martin&#8217;s frustrations were simply that — and he has no plans to step aside despite any tensions with his vice chair: &#8220;I&#8217;m not going anywhere.&#8221;
&#8220;I took this job to fight Republicans, not Democrats. As I said when I was elected, our fight is not within the Democratic Party, our fight is and has to be solely focused on Donald Trump and the disastrous Republican agenda. That’s the work that I will continue to do every day,&#8221; he said.
Hogg did not comment on the confrontation.
