Topline: President Trump secured a historic trade agreement with the European Union over the weekend and successfully brokered a ceasefire between Thailand and Cambodia. 
On Sunday, President Trump finalized a massive trade deal with the EU just four days before his August 1 deadline. Under the terms of the agreement, the United States will set a baseline tariff of 15% on most European goods, while the EU will open its markets to American products at a zero-percent tariff. The EU also agreed to purchase $750 billion in energy and defense products from the United States. Collectively, the nations in the EU bloc are America&#8217;s largest trading partner.
Announcing the deal, Trump <a href="https://x.com/RapidResponse47/status/1949527667478319115">said</a>, “It’s great that we made a deal today instead of playing games.” The agreement is a significant win for the White House, as the EU had initially proposed a lower 10% tariff rate.
The deal capped off a weekend of foreign policy wins for the president. After a long-disputed <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/very-good-conversation-trump-says-peace-between-cambodia-and-thailand-imminent-after-phone-calls">border conflict</a> between Thailand and Cambodia erupted into a firefight that killed at least 35 people, Trump intervened. The president threatened both nations with 36% tariffs if they did not immediately begin peace talks. Within hours, the two countries agreed to negotiations, which are set to take place on Monday.
With the deadline just days away, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick issued a firm warning to other trading partners that have not yet reached an agreement with the United States. &#8220;No extensions, no more grace periods — August 1st, the tariffs are set,&#8221; he said.

Topline: The Department of Justice has interviewed Jeffrey Epstein’s accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell for the first time, a development that legal experts find remarkable, as FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino issued a cryptic warning about government corruption. 
The DOJ met with Maxwell last week, with her attorney David Oscar Markus confirming that prosecutors questioned her about &#8220;100 different people.&#8221; Markus noted that it was the &#8220;first opportunity she&#8217;s ever been given to answer questions about what happened.&#8221; George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley called the development remarkable, expressing shock on Fox News that Maxwell, &#8220;the one who knows the most,&#8221; had been an untapped resource for so long.

Topline: President Trump is criticizing California Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom after nearly $100 million in aid raised by the &#8220;FireAid&#8221; celebrity concert reportedly failed to reach the wildfire victims it was intended to help. 
The &#8220;FireAid&#8221; concert, featuring A-list artists like Katy Perry and Lady Gaga, raised money for residents impacted by the devastating Pacific Palisades and Altadena wildfires earlier this year. Celebrity spokespeople, including actors Miles Teller and Samuel L. Jackson, assured the public that &#8220;All the money raised will go directly to people who need it.&#8221; However, victims on the ground say they have not received any of the money. 
President Trump took to social media to blast the situation, calling it &#8220;A TOTAL DISASTER&#8221; and &#8220;ANOTHER DEMOCRAT INSPIRED SCAM.&#8221; He also slammed Newsom’s forest management, which he said allowed the fires to happen in the first place. FireAid has since issued a statement claiming the plan was never to make direct payments to individuals, but to work through local non-profits. 
An investigation by local news editor Sue Pascoe, who lost her home in the Palisades fire, found that some of these nonprofits appear to be using the funds for their own social and political causes. One group promised to use the money to &#8220;cultivate egalitarian relationships based on trust and respect,&#8221; while another said it would work to build &#8220;a more humane and democratic society.&#8221; Rep. Kevin Kiley (R-CA) is now pushing for an investigation into where the funds went.

A poll from Reuters/Ipsos conducted this week showed that a large majority of Americans believe the federal government is hiding information on the Jeffrey Epstein case, as President Donald Trump calls those continuing to focus on the case &#8220;pretty bad people.&#8221;
The <a href="https://www.reuters.com/graphics/USA-TRUMP/EPSTEIN-POLL/zjvqoexxgvx/">poll</a>, which surveyed 1,027 U.S. adults and ran on Tuesday and Wednesday, found that 69% of respondents said that the federal government is covering up details about Epstein&#8217;s alleged client list. Only 6% said there was no cover-up, and 25% said they were unsure or did not answer. The survey results also showed that around two-thirds of Republicans believe the government is hiding something about Epstein&#8217;s supposed clients.
On Epstein&#8217;s death, 60% of Americans said the federal government is hiding information from the public, including 55% of Republicans.

&#8220;Their new SCAM is what we will forever call the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax, and my PAST supporters have bought into this &#8216;bulls***&#8217; hook, line, and sinker,&#8221; he wrote on Truth Social. &#8220;They haven’t learned their lesson, and probably never will, even after being conned by the Lunatic Left for 8 long years.&#8221; He added that he no longer wants the support of those who continue to focus on the Epstein case.
In a press gaggle on Tuesday night, Trump told reporters, “I don’t understand why the Jeffrey Epstein case would be of interest to anybody. It’s pretty boring stuff. It’s sordid, but it’s boring, and I don’t understand why it keeps going. I think really only pretty bad people, including fake news, want to keep something like that going.”
The Trump administration&#8217;s handling of the case has sparked controversy among the president&#8217;s base as Republicans and Democrats gear up for the 2026 midterm elections. Democrats have already <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/elections/democrats-put-previous-misgivings-hit-trump-jeffrey-epstein-files-rcna218608">latched</a> onto the issue to attack Trump, voting in the House to release the Epstein files, a move that Republicans <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/house-gop-rejects-claims-of-blocking-epstein-files-a-misunderstanding">called</a> a political stunt and a power grab.
Among all of the issues respondents were asked about in the Reuters/Ipsos poll, Trump scored the <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/us/trump-faces-backlash-69-believe-epstein-details-concealed-reutersipsos-poll-2025-07-17/">worst</a> on his handling of the Epstein case, with just 17% of Americans approving of the job his administration has done on the issue. Thirty-five percent of Republicans said they approved of Trump&#8217;s handling of the Epstein case compared to 30% who disapproved. The rest of the Republicans polled either said they were unsure or didn&#8217;t answer the question.
Conservatives have <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ben-shapiro-pam-bondi-botched-epstein-rollout-eight-ways-from-sunday">blasted</a> Attorney General Pam Bondi&#8217;s handling of the Epstein case after the Department of Justice said last week that it did not find evidence of a client list existing and concluded that Epstein committed suicide in his jail cell in 2019. Bondi said in February that she had the client list sitting on her desk, but months later, she clarified that she meant that she was reviewing the Epstein files.
FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino were also reportedly <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bondi-or-bongino-bongino-wont-remain-at-fbi-if-bondi-keeps-job-source-says">frustrated</a> with Bondi&#8217;s handling of the case, and Bongino considered resigning if Bondi remained in her position. Trump said that Bondi did &#8220;very well&#8221; handling the Epstein case, and is also <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hes-in-good-shape-trump-speaks-with-bongino-after-flare-up-with-bondi">continuing</a> to back Patel and Bongino as the White House attempts to smooth things over. Bongino has not resigned, and Trump said on Sunday that he&#8217;s &#8220;in good shape.&#8221; Bongino&#8217;s official X account, which is usually active, has not <a href="https://x.com/FBIDDBongino/with_replies">posted</a> since last Wednesday.
Some right-wing political commentators and Republican lawmakers have urged the administration to be more transparent with the details surrounding the Epstein case. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2025/07/15/politics/epstein-files-trump-bondi">said</a> earlier this week that he&#8217;s &#8220;for transparency&#8221; on the issue.
“It’s a very delicate subject. We should put everything out there and let the people decide it,” Johnson said.

Trump told reporters outside the White House that Bondi has handled the case &#8220;very well.&#8221; The attorney general has faced criticism from many conservatives who argue she botched the handling of the Epstein case.
&#8220;The credibility is very important. You want credible evidence for something like that,&#8221; Trump said. &#8220;And I think the attorney general has handled it very well.&#8221;
Trump added that Bondi gave him a &#8220;very quick briefing&#8230;in terms of the credibility of the different things they have seen.&#8221;

Controversy surrounding the Epstein case has blown up in the administration as FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino reportedly <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bondi-or-bongino-bongino-wont-remain-at-fbi-if-bondi-keeps-job-source-says">threatened</a> to resign last week if Bondi remained as AG. Bongino&#8217;s frustration with Bondi reportedly boiled over days after the Department of Justice said there was no evidence to prove that child rapist Jeffrey Epstein had a client list, had blackmailed powerful people, or had been murdered.
Bondi promised to reveal major details in the case five months ago, but there have been no significant new developments reported since then. Bongino, along with FBI Director Kash Patel, said in May that he reviewed the case and found no evidence that Epstein was murdered. In February, the White House released “The Epstein Files: Phase 1,” handing out binders to right-wing social media influencers at the White House. The binders, however, contained no new bombshells on Epstein, his sexual crimes, or any alleged co-conspirators.
The attorney general also stated in February that she had Epstein’s client list on her desk, but walked that statement back last week when the DOJ said that it did not find evidence of a client list existing.
The White House has sought to smooth things over, with Trump continuing to back Bondi, Bongino, and Patel, while Vice President JD Vance attempts to play the peacemaker between Bongino and Bondi, <a href="https://x.com/MaryMargOlohan/status/1944775650969002147">according</a> to Daily Wire White House Correspondent Mary Margaret Olohan.
Bondi has been slammed by leading conservative voices, including Daily Wire Editor Emeritus Ben Shapiro.

President Donald Trump said on Sunday he believes FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino is &#8220;in good shape&#8221; following a reported clash with Attorney General Pam Bondi over her handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files.
The assurance came after The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bondi-or-bongino-bongino-wont-remain-at-fbi-if-bondi-keeps-job-source-says" target="_blank" rel="noopener">cited a source</a> on Friday who said Bongino threatened to quit the bureau if Bondi stayed on as attorney general after the Department of Justice (DOJ) claimed it had no evidence that Epstein had a client list, blackmailed powerful people, or was murdered.

Dan Bongino, the deputy director of the FBI, had a tense meeting with Attorney General Pam Bondi and Trump White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles over the handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files, according to a new report.

During a closed-door meeting on the Epstein matter this past week, Bongino raised his voice while speaking to Wiles and stormed out, sources <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/inside-dan-bonginos-tense-meeting-white-house-officials-over-jeffrey-epstein-fallout">told</a> Fox News. Bongino also allegedly exchanged &#8220;heated words&#8221; with Bondi during the same meeting.
Another source agreed that Bongino was &#8220;enraged&#8221; during the meeting, but said the deputy director never yelled at either woman. A White House official similarly said Bongino did not yell at Wiles, per Fox News.

Bondi also said the missing minute from the released Metropolitan Detention Center footage was standard.
“We learned from the Bureau of Prisons that every night they redo that video,&#8221; she said on Tuesday. &#8220;So, every night the video is reset, and every night should have the same minute missing.”
Bondi added that the DOJ is looking to publish additional footage to prove the video reset happens every night.
Despite criticism and allegations that Bongino wants her gone, sources close to Bondi say she has no intention of stepping down. And the White House so far seems to be backing the idea that no one is leaving their post.
&#8220;President Trump has assembled a highly qualified and experienced law and order team dedicated to protecting Americans, holding criminals accountable, and delivering justice to victims. Bongino left a lucrative career in broadcasting to take the job in the Trump administration. He was not present at the FBI on Friday, after a reported spat with the attorney general earlier this week over the Epstein situation.

The rift between Bongino and Bondi intensified on Wednesday, days after the Department of Justice announced there was no evidence to prove that child rapist Jeffrey Epstein had a client list, had blackmailed powerful people, or had been murdered. Bondi had promised to reveal major details in the case five months ago, when there were no massive revelations to bring forward.
The deputy FBI director, who raised questions about Epstein’s death before he was in the Trump administration, said in May that his review of the file and hours of video recording from Epstein’s jail proved that the child abuser committed suicide. FBI Director Kash Patel also said that the evidence the bureau has reviewed shows that Epstein was not murdered.
A source close to the Justice Department told The Daily Wire that Patel also wants Bondi gone, and that he would consider departing alongside Bongino. The source also said that Patel wants Bondi to unseal more documents.

Now, Bongino is considering sending in his resignation over the fallout with Bondi. While it remains unclear if Bongino will step down, his normally active official social media account has been <a href="https://x.com/FBIDDBongino">quiet</a> since Wednesday, when his frustration with Bondi reportedly boiled over.
One source close to Bongino predicted to Axios, “He ain’t coming back.” Trump administration officials, however, are saying that Bongino remains on the job.
Bondi was criticized after stating in February that she had Epstein’s client list on her desk and then walking that statement back earlier this week when the DOJ revealed that it did not find evidence that a client list exists. The DOJ and FBI were also criticized after releasing over 10 hours of video footage from the hallway attached to Epstein’s jail cell when people noticed that there was one minute of footage missing from the tape.

During that same Cabinet meeting, President Donald Trump blasted a reporter for asking Bondi about the Epstein case.
“That is unbelievable. … I mean I can’t believe you’re asking a question on Epstein at a time like this when we’re having some of the greatest success and also tragedy with what happened in Texas,” Trump said. “It just seems like a desecration.”

WASHINGTON—Three years after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade with its decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women&#8217;s Health Organization, authorities have not determined who leaked the draft opinion.
The failure to track down the Supreme Court leaker has baffled the public and angered many on the Right, who consider the leak a politically-motivated attempt to stop the Court from overturning Roe. The Court conducted an investigation into the leak, but said in January 2023 that they could not identify the leaker — and <a href="https://www.supremecourt.gov/publicinfo/press/Dobbs_Public_Report_January_19_2023.pdf">possibly never will</a>.
&#8220;In time, continued investigation and analysis may produce additional leads that could identify the source of the disclosure,&#8221; the Supreme Court&#8217;s 2023 statement said. &#8220;Whether or not any individual is ever identified as the source of the disclosure, the Court should take action to create and implement better policies to govern the handling of Court-sensitive information and determine the best IT systems for security and collaboration.&#8221;
FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino revealed in May that the FBI is giving increased scrutiny to the &#8220;leak of the Supreme Court Dobbs case,&#8221; among a few other high-profile cases that have not been properly investigated.
&#8220;I receive requested briefings on these cases weekly and we are making progress,&#8221; Bongino <a href="https://x.com/FBIDDBongino/status/1926961051129508247">said in late May</a>. &#8220;If you have any investigative tips on these matters that may assist us then please contact the FBI.&#8221;
The leak of the draft opinion prompted protests outside the Maryland and Virginia homes of the conservative Supreme Court justices — illegal protests in violation of 18 USC 1507, which prohibits picketing or parading near the home of a judge &#8220;with the intent of interfering with, obstructing, or impeding the administration of justice.&#8221;
In addition to the protests, the Dobbs leak prompted attacks on pregnancy centers and churches all across the United States. According to CatholicVote trackers, at least <a href="https://catholicvote.org/pregnancy-center-attack-tracker/">96 pregnancy centers</a> and <a href="https://catholicvote.org/tracker-church-attacks/">343 churches have been attacked</a>, vandalized, firebombed, or otherwise terrorized since the leak.
In many cases, vandals spray-painted the messages “if abortions aren’t safe then you aren’t either” and autographed the destruction, “Jane’s Revenge,&#8221; a reference to &#8220;Jane Roe,&#8221; the pseudonymous plaintiff in the landmark abortion case.
Radical leftist groups published Supreme Court justices’ addresses online and urged protestors to make the justices uncomfortable in efforts to save Roe. Justice Samuel Alito <a href="https://www.dailysignal.com/2022/10/25/justice-alito-roe-leak-made-us-targets-assassination/">has said that the leak</a> made the justices &#8220;targets for assassination.&#8221;
Though both Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin (R) and then-Maryland Governor Larry Hogan (R) begged the Justice Department to enforce that law as far-Left activists continued their protesting, President Joe Biden&#8217;s Justice Department did not respond to these requests until June 8, 2022, the very same day that authorities arrested Nicholas Roske and charged him with attempting to kill Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

Authorities <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/police-arrest-armed-man-near-brett-kavanaughs-home-who-allegedly-wanted-to-kill-the-justice-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">arrested</a> 26-year-old Nicholas Roske in 2022 in Kavanaugh’s Maryland neighborhood, carrying a bag full of weapons and burglary tools, after he called the police on himself. <a href="https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/25476861-roskemts2010325/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Court filings show</a> that Roske described himself as “actively suicidal” and said he wanted to “do something positive before I die” by taking out Kavanaugh before the justice could vote to overturn Roe.
He found Kavanaugh’s neighborhood online, according to court documents, after he saw an article with a “picture of the family’s house,” including the house number.
“I was thinking about — I was thinking about killing Brett Kavanaugh and then killing myself,” he said to the <a href="https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/25476860-roskesuppmts010325/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">officers who arrived</a> on the scene, according to January court filings. “And then I texted my sister that I loved her. And then she called me and she told me not to do it. And then I called 9-1-1-.”
“I saw the news and it was upsetting, and I was already suicidal,” he told detectives later, as he described how he tracked down Kavanaugh’s home and planned the assassination. “And I don’t know. It was something to — it was like a project I guess…”

“When I saw the leaked draft, it made me upset and then it made me want to — I don’t know,” he shared. “I was under the delusion that I could make the world a better place by killing him.”
Roske allegedly flew from California to Dulles International Airport after he found Kavanaugh’s home using media photographs of protests outside the justice’s home, protests which began after POLITICO’s May 2022 publication of a leaked draft Supreme Court opinion overturning Roe.
POLITICO itself acknowledged that its publication of the unprecedented leak would stir up controversy. They were <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2023/05/08/politico-finalist-draft-opinion-overturning-abortion-rights-00095845">named as a finalist for a Pulitzer Prize</a> for the story, though the story <a href="https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2023/05/politico-pulitzer-prize">did not win the prize</a>.

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino weighed in after Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids at several locations across the greater Los Angeles area erupted into clashes — some of them violent — between federal agents and protesters.
After the FBI had to be called in on at least one such confrontation on Friday, Bongino made it clear in a post on X that federal agents would not be deterred from doing their jobs — and he promised that anyone who attempted to interfere with them doing their jobs would face consequences.
&#8220;The Right to assemble and protest does not include a license to attack law enforcement officers, or to impede and obstruct our lawful immigration operations,&#8221; Bongino said. &#8220;We are thoroughly reviewing the evidence from yesterday’s incident in Los Angeles and we are working with the US Attorney’s Office to ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice. The days of chaos ruling the streets are over. Either obey the law, or go to jail, there’s no third option.&#8221;

Bongino followed that with a second post confirming that some of those who had attempted to disrupt the ICE raids on Friday had already been arrested.

And the arrests continued on Saturday, as Fox LA reporter Matthew Seedorff shared video of protesters clashing with ICE agents at what turned out to be a staging area for operations near Paramount, California.

Fox News national correspondent Bill Melugin clarified the situation, noting that the raids were specifically targeting illegal aliens who already had active deportation orders or had committed other crimes.
&#8220;NEW: Per federal sources, despite local claims, there was no ICE &#8216;raid&#8217; at a Home Depot in LA today. DHS has a nearby office in Paramount that they are using as a staging area. Protesters found it and began gathering. ICE will conduct targeted enforcement around LA today, serving criminal judicial warrants and enforcing final orders of removal/deportation orders. CBP and Border Patrol have been brought in to provide security and extra bodies, and a handful of agitators have already been arrested today for allegedly interfering with federal agents. Despite inflammatory statements from local politicians making it sound like ICE is sweeping neighborhoods in SoCal &amp; kicking doors down, they are targeting those who already have a deportation orders or who have criminality that has been signed off on by a federal judge. If others are found with the targets and they are also illegal aliens, they will be arrested too. This is enforcement of bipartisan immigration laws that have been on the books for decades.&#8221;

Multiple people were injured Sunday in a firebombing attack at an event in Boulder, Colorado, meant to show support for hostages kidnapped by Hamas in the October 7, 2023, assault on Israel, officials said.
In a press conference, Boulder Police Chief Steven Redfearn <a href="https://x.com/boulderpolice/status/1929297731769536683" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> officers arrived on the scene in response to reports of people being set on fire before 2 p.m. local time and found victims with &#8220;injuries consistent with burns and other injuries.&#8221; They were sent to the hospital, he said.
An adult male suspect was detained and also taken to a hospital with minor injuries, Redfearn said.
Officials are investigating the attack. Redfearn noted that he could not ID the suspect right away.
&#8220;This act is unacceptable,&#8221; Redfearn said.

Earlier, on X, the Boulder Police Department said it was responding to a &#8220;report of an attack&#8221; at 13th and Pearl Streets with &#8220;reports of several victims.&#8221; Police established an evacuation area and advised people to steer clear.
The FBI also responded.
&#8220;We are aware of and fully investigating a targeted terror attack in Boulder, Colorado. Our agents and local law enforcement are on the scene already, and we will share updates as more information becomes available,&#8221; <a href="https://x.com/FBIDirectorKash/status/1929287827130372291" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> FBI Director Kash Patel.
Redfearn said he could not immediately confirm a motive, but did acknowledge that a &#8220;peaceful demonstration&#8221; by a pro-Israel group was going on at the scene in a busy area.
Video <a href="https://x.com/MarinaMedvin/status/1929285153899077682" target="_blank" rel="noopener">posted</a> to social media appeared to show smoke rising out of a park where some people were screaming and lying on the ground.
&#8220;We are saddened and heartbroken to learn that an incendiary device was thrown at walkers at the Run for Their Lives walk on Pearl Street as they were raising awareness for the hostages still held in Gaza,&#8221; <a href="https://x.com/avivaklompas/status/1929291509079154767?s=46&amp;t=ghpHusspWPjTMisXwpsMaA" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> a statement from Boulder&#8217;s Jewish Community.
There were unconfirmed images <a href="https://x.com/Breaking911/status/1929297392450351110" target="_blank" rel="noopener">posted</a> to social media showing a shirtless man, apparently the suspect, holding what appeared to be molotov cocktails. One video showed the man <a href="https://x.com/just_whatever/status/1929297646700613852" target="_blank" rel="noopener">shouting</a> &#8220;end Zionists&#8221; and other things.
&#8220;FBI personnel are on the scene in Boulder, Colorado, along with local law enforcement,&#8221; FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino <a href="https://x.com/FBIDDBongino/status/1929289348307890451" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> on X. &#8220;We are investigating this incident as an act of terror, and targeted violence. All of the necessary assets will be dedicated to this investigation. If you have any investigative tips please contact the FBI. And if you aided or abetted this attack, we will find you. You cannot hide.&#8221;
Among the others who commented on the attack was Colorado Governor Jared Polis, a Democrat.
&#8220;I am closely monitoring the situation in Boulder, and my thoughts go out to the people who have been injured and impacted by this heinous act of terror,&#8221; Polis <a href="https://x.com/GovofCO/status/1929288761139188042" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in a post on X. &#8220;Hate-filled acts of any kind are unacceptable. While details emerge, the state works with local and federal law enforcement to support this investigation. More information will be provided as it becomes available.&#8221;
