A top Democrat claimed he did not know if there would be an election in 2028 and called for activist organizations to take to “the streets” to “save our democracy” while trying to sell his book.
During a recent book tour stop, Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT), a potential presidential candidate, said that money should be funneled to leftist activists to ensure that upcoming elections are “fair and free.” Murphy made the dramatic claims during a Q&amp;A with ex-NBC journalist Katie Couric at Judson Memorial Church in Manhattan pushing his book &#8220;Crisis of the Common Good.&#8221; 
When asked if he had any national aspirations, Murphy said, “Here’s the honest truth: I don’t know that there’s going to be an election in 2028.” 
Couric interjected, “Don’t say that.” 
“I think there is, but we gotta do the work,” Murphy replied. “And so, I am spending all of my time trying to make sure that democracy still exists, trying to preserve what we have.”
He made the comments on May 26, just weeks after another attempted assassination against President Donald Trump.
At the same time as he warned of a dystopian future without elections, Murphy lambasted conservatives for believing that leftism was an “existential threat to the country&#8221; and called for Democrats to vote to “permanently eliminate [Trump’s] movement from positions of power.”
Murphy added that he had spent much of the money he raised on funding leftist activist organizations. 
“I’ve been spending most all of my money that I raise online in the last year and a half, sending out grants to local citizen-led organizations all over the country that are protesting what Donald Trump is doing and mobilizing citizens against his corruption and thievery,” he said. 
“We shouldn’t be raising money and hoarding it for the next election. We should be raising money and putting it immediately out onto the streets to help save our democracy,” Murphy added. 
Murphy was <a href="https://chrismurphy.com/american-mobilization-project/">referring</a> to his “American Mobilization Project,” which backs leftist organizations that participate in &#8220;on-the-ground organizing” that fight against Republican policies or push leftist voting and immigration initiatives. 
For example, the project has supported the group &#8220;Indivisible,&#8221; which <a href="https://indivisible.org/">describes</a> itself as an organization fighting “against this fascistic clown show of a regime” and calls for defunding ICE and Border Patrol. 
Indivisible <a href="https://indivisible.org/actions/demand-your-representative-reject-detention-center-escalations/">designed</a> a script for activists to call lawmakers and tell them to &#8220;use their power as my elected official to demand dignity for immigrants and reject any expansions to Trump’s mass detention and deportation agenda.&#8221;
Multiple groups supported by Murphy&#8217;s project do immigration legal work. This includes the Minneapolis-based Advocates for Human Rights, which provides legal services to “people in immigration detention,” and American Gateways, which gives free legal services at the immigration courthouse in San Antonio, Texas. 
Another group is the Wisconsin-based Raìces Acciòn, which works to train “the next generation of bilingual organizers to build sustained political power up and down the ballot.”
Other groups protest cuts to welfare programs and public education or push young people to participate in political activism.

Newly released footage shows former WWE executive Vince McMahon crashing his Bentley Continental GT while traveling over 100 mph in 2025.
The video taken from a police officer&#8217;s dash cam shows McMahon speeding down a Connecticut highway on July 24 of that year. McMahon’s car can be seen clipping the BMW driving in front of him before pulling over and being confronted by law enforcement.
“Why were you driving all over 100 mph?” state police Detective Maxwell Robins asked McMahon, 80,  after approaching the wrecked Bentley on the side of Merritt Parkway in Westport. 
“I got my granddaughter’s birthday,” McMahon said in response. 
“You almost hit, I think, 115 miles per hour… I’m trying to catch up to you, and you keep taking off,” Robins said.
“No, no no. I’m not trying to outrun you,” McMahon insisted in the video. The officer next asked McMahon if he was looking at his phone, which he denied.
Robins told McMahon that his car is fast, prompting McMahon to agree, “Yeah, too (expletive) fast.”

There were no injuries from the crash, but another car traveling in the opposite direction was struck by debris. The driver of that car was coincidentally wearing a WWE shirt, the Associated Press <a href="https://apnews.com/article/vince-mcmahon-car-crash-connecticut-bc0da67100a55adf1a8c8acc8ae7139b">reported</a>. In another strange twist, WWE legend Hulk Hogan died of a heart attack on the same day of the crash.
McMahon was charged with reckless driving and following too closely. He entered a pretrial probation program, which allowed him to have the charges erased, plus was ordered to make a $1,000 charitable contribution.
“Not every car accident is a crime,” the WWE exec’s lawyer said of the incident. “Vince’s primary concern during this case was for the other drivers and is appreciative that the court saw this more of an accident than a crime that needed to be prosecuted.”
McMahon stepped down as WWE’s CEO in 2022 following sexual misconduct allegations from a former employee, which he denied. The lawsuit is ongoing.

Sanctuary authorities in Connecticut released an illegal immigrant charged with sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl and enticing minors online, forcing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to track him down in the community after officials declined to honor a detainer request, The Daily Wire has learned.
Ecuadorian national Christian Espinosa-Sarango, who is in the country illegally, was charged on December 19, 2025, in North Haven, Connecticut, with sexual assault, illegal sexual contact with a child, and enticing minors with a computer, according to the Department of Homeland Security. ICE lodged a detainer request on December 23 with local law enforcement, demanding that they notify federal immigration agents before he&#8217;s scheduled for release.
But local authorities did not comply and released him from jail on a $150,000 bond &#8220;onto Connecticut&#8217;s streets,&#8221; DHS said.
Espinosa-Sarango communicated with an undercover agent he believed was the aunt of a 13-year-old girl, <a href="https://www.newhavenindependent.org/2026/02/13/ice-agents-smash-car-window-detain-fair-havener-before-court/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to the New Haven Independent, citing an affidavit. When he found out the girl&#8217;s age, he allegedly began asking for photos and sex.
The undercover agent agreed and instructed him to come to a local hotel with condoms and $120, according to the local news outlet.
On December 19, he allegedly arrived at the hotel room with three condoms and $120 cash and was immediately arrested after knocking on the door.
Espinosa-Sarango claimed he went to the hotel to &#8220;save&#8221; the girl, but said he did not want to contact police until he saw her first, according to the local report.
ICE officers located Espinosa-Sarango on February 13, DHS said, and he allegedly resisted arrest. According to DHS, he attempted to flee in his vehicle and refused to roll down his window, forcing officers to break it to take him into custody.
DHS is blaming Connecticut&#8217;s sanctuary policies, arguing that restrictions on cooperation with ICE prevented local authorities from honoring the detainer request and allowed Espinosa-Sarango&#8217;s release.
“These are the types of monsters Connecticut sanctuary politicians are releasing from their jails and onto the streets to perpetuate more crimes against children,” Assistant Homeland Security Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said.
“We need local law enforcement to cooperate with us to get these heinous criminals out of our neighborhoods. Seven of the 10 safest cities in the United States cooperate with ICE. This is a perfect example of why sanctuary policies make Americans less safe. Thankfully, because of our brave ICE agents, Christian Espinosa-Sarango, a pedophile, will never walk American streets again. Sanctuary politicians must stop releasing pedophiles, murderers, rapists, and kidnappers into our neighborhoods,&#8221; McLaughlin added.
Lawmakers in Connecticut amended the state&#8217;s sanctuary law this year in response to the Trump administration&#8217;s mass deportation effort, allowing illegal immigrants to sue local police agencies that communicate with ICE, <a href="https://www.ctpublic.org/news/2025-09-03/updates-ct-trust-act-october-what-to-know" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to WNPR.
The law was also expanded to allow local officers to comply with ICE if it involves cases of sexual assault, burglary with a firearm, and injury or risk of injury to a child, the report said.

Paul Simon’s daughter, Lulu Simon, is furious that actor Richard Gere decided to sell her childhood home in New Canaan, Connecticut, to developers, which she says goes against a promise he made when he purchased the property.
Lulu, 30, also a singer, is the daughter of the legendary Simon &amp; Garfunkel singer/songwriter and his wife, Edie Brickell. She discussed the situation on her Instagram stories earlier this week, per <a href="https://people.com/richard-gere-house-paul-simon-daughter-lulu-childhood-home-demolish-developer-11769150">People</a>.
Gere purchased the property in 2022 for $10.8 million and then sold it for $10.75 million in October 2024, when he moved to Spain. It’s now being torn down to make way for nine new homes. 
“Just in case anyone was wondering if I still hate Richard Gere – I do!” Lulu wrote in the caption text. The post also included a news article about the house’s fate.
She continued, “He bought my childhood home. Promised he would take care of the land as [a] condition of his purchase. Proceeded to never actually move in &amp; just sold it to a developer as 9 separate plots :).”
“Hate! Him!” Lulu added in the caption.
A second Instagram Story showed a photo of Gere surrounded by images of cats and dogs. “I hope my dead pets buried in that backyard haunt you until you descend into a slow and unrelenting madness,” that post caption said. 
Lulu also posted a meme of a frog that included the caption, “Time will put your enemies in the ground.”
According to <a href="https://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/82-Brookwood-Ln_New-Canaan_CT_06840_M48774-74391">Realtor.com</a>, the house was built in 1938 and sits on more than 31 acres. It has six bedrooms and 11 bathrooms. 
Simon and Brickell reportedly purchased the home for $16.5 million in 2002, per <a href="https://www.townandcountrymag.com/leisure/real-estate/g27257129/paul-simon-connecticut-home/">Town &amp; Country</a>. In 2019, the couple attempted to sell the property for $13.9 million, but Gere acquired it in 2022 after multiple price adjustments.

A Connecticut woman has been arrested after a man identifying himself as her stepson told police he set a fire at their house to escape after she held him captive for 20 years.
Kimberly Sullivan, 56, was taken into police custody on Wednesday and charged with first-degree assault, second-degree kidnapping, first-degree unlawful restraint, cruelty to persons, and first-degree reckless endangerment, according to <a href="https://www.facebook.com/WaterburyPoliceDept/posts/pfbid0nszdYeFd1hohq7UNiM6hYM4KupGR7fLTaUtjyKUuta7A34QjZTCeVLRNJYyXTrQwl" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a Facebook post</a> from the Waterbury Police Department.
“The suffering this victim endured for over 20 years is both heartbreaking and unimaginable,” Waterbury Police Chief Fernando Spagnolo said in a statement. “This case required relentless investigative effort, and I commend the dedication of our officers and the Waterbury State’s Attorney’s Office. Their unwavering commitment ensured that justice is served, and the perpetrator is held fully accountable for these horrific crimes.”
On February 17, around 8:42 p.m., Waterbury police and fire personnel responded to a report of a house fire. Sullivan, the owner of the property, was able to escape on her own, while the second occupant — her unidentified 32-year-old stepson — was rescued by firefighters and given medical treatment after suffering burns and smoke inhalation. While he was receiving medical treatment, the man told first responders that he set the fire using printer paper as kindling and hand sanitizer for fuel, CNN <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2025/03/13/us/waterbury-connecticut-man-captive-stepmom-hnk/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
The man added that he had been kept prisoner by his stepmother since he was around 11 years old — for about 20 years.
“I wanted my freedom,” he reportedly told police.
After the man made his claims, police investigated, and said evidence showed that the man had suffered “prolonged abuse, starvation, severe neglect, and inhumane treatment.”
The man reportedly weighed just 68 pounds, <a href="https://www.wfsb.com/2025/03/12/man-intentionally-starts-fire-home-he-was-held-captive-over-20-years-waterbury-escape/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to WFSB-TV 3</a>, citing a warrant. CNN <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2025/03/13/us/waterbury-connecticut-man-captive-stepmom-hnk/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">added</a> that the man allegedly survived on two sandwiches a day and two cups of water while he was locked in a storage space with both sides of the door secured with plywood. He was locked in from the outside, the outlet added.
The man also was allegedly pulled out of school in the fourth grade and hadn’t been allowed to leave the house since he was 14 or 15 years old.
An arrest warrant for Sullivan was issued on March 11 and she was taken into custody the next day.
“He lit a fire with some hand sanitizer, some paper from a printer, and he lit that fire while he was locked in that room from the outside. He lit that fire very well knowing he could die, but he had been locked in the room for 20 years, and for 20 years he’d been trying to get out of that room,” prosecutors said during Sullivan’s arraignment on Tuesday, according to WFSB-TV 3.
Ioannis A. Kaloidis, Sullivan’s attorney, <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8kc5rxrBRt8" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> reporters outside the courtroom that the claims against his client were false and “outlandish.”
“She was blown away when she heard these allegations,” the lawyer said. “She’s adamant they are not true. This did not happen and we look forward to being able to vindicate her and show that she’s done nothing wrong.”
He added that the “allegations seemed to be based on the words of one individual and one individual alone.”
Sullivan’s bond was set at $300,000, <a href="https://people.com/mother-allegedly-held-stepson-captive-for-20-years-before-he-lit-fire-to-escape-something-out-of-a-horror-movie-11696021" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to People Magazine</a>, and she is currently being held by the Connecticut Department of Corrections.

An illegal migrant pedophile from Haiti is now in the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) despite a sympathetic parole board trying to save him from deportation several weeks ago.
Guerino Magloire, 52, was <a href="http://www.ctinmateinfo.state.ct.us/detailsupv.asp?id_inmt_num=255393" target="_blank" rel="noopener">serving</a> five years in prison for felony second-degree sexual assault against a child between 13 and 15 years old. He was convicted of sexually assaulting the child on March 11, 2020, just as pandemic lockdowns were starting, and he was sentenced in November the next year.
In December, Magloire was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/connecticut-parole-board-pardons-illegal-migrant-pedophile-who-says-he-might-re-offend" target="_blank" rel="noopener">released</a> from a Connecticut prison after his parole board mulled how to best help him avoid deportation.
The Trump administration, the parole board decided, would not be able to get its act together fast enough to deport the illegal migrant pedophile before his 30-day immigration detainer runs out. “They can’t elect a Speaker of the House,” one board member scoffed.
Magloire is currently &#8220;in ICE custody&#8221; and being held at the Wyatt Detention Center in Rhode Island, <a href="https://locator.ice.gov/odls/#/results" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to ICE&#8217;s online detainee location system.
During his parole <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RluWJ6xkhQo" target="_blank" rel="noopener">hearing</a> on New Year’s Eve, Magloire said he cannot promise he will not offend again.

“I can’t say I promise that it’s not going to happen because that’s not always a thing, when you say, ‘Oh I promise,&#8217;” Magloire told the parole board. “No, I’m not going to say I promise, but I will definitely try to do my best, my best to keep myself away from situations like that again.”
Later, he said again, “I did say that I can’t promise not making a mistake.”
Magloire scored as a moderate to high risk on an evaluation <a href="https://www.sog.unc.edu/sites/default/files/course_materials/3.0%20Static-99R-Coding-Form_0.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">used</a> to predict whether a male sexual offender will re-offend.
Despite those red flags, the parole board released him that day from Carl Robinson Correctional Institution north of Hartford.
Magloire is in the country illegally. He came to the United States from Haiti in 1984 when he was 11 and had an immigration detainer, meaning ICE was ready to deport him as soon as he was released from prison.
His parole board lamented the situation. The board <a href="https://portal.ct.gov/bopp/bopp_front-_pages/common-elements/about-us/meet-the-parole-board" target="_blank" rel="noopener">included</a> two women, Rufaro <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/rufaro-berry-a1316b144/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Berry</a> and Deborah Smith-<a href="https://www.notredamehs.com/about/leadership?id=3750" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Palmieri</a>, and one man, Michael Pohl.
“Unfortunately the person who’s taking over our current administration, he’s going to make sure that people like yourself are deported back,” Berry told Magloire. “It’s unfortunate that I think that the moment that we say that you’re going to be granted, or if we grant your discretionary parole, the process will begin.”
“I want to be perfectly clear,” she told the convict. “If we grant your discretionary parole today, you’ll be transported to a halfway house where you’ll wait for ICE to pick you up, and you will be returned. You won’t reunite with your family. That’s not going to happen, sir.”
“Oh, so they’re going to take me right back?” Magloire asked.
“They’re going to take you right back in a matter of days,” Berry responded.
“So even though the country is in turmoil the way it is?” he said.
“That’s not our concern. That’s out of our control,” she said.
Magloire shook his head.
“Yeah,” Berry said.
Berry suggested Magloire might have a better chance of fighting his deportation detainer in prison than if he is “sent out of the country and trying to get back.”
However, another board member, Pohl, pushed back with a different perspective.
“So my take on this is that we parole him today because they can’t elect a Speaker of the House — I don’t think the Trump administration is going to be in a position in the next 30 days, which is what they hold him, to deport him,” Pohl said.
Pohl is <a href="https://www.manchesterctdems.info/mike-pohl/?_sm_nck=1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">also</a> the chairman of the Manchester Democrats.
In the end, all three parole board members agreed to release Magloire, deciding he would have the “best opportunity to dispute this immigration detainer if he is granted discretionary parole.”
Magloire sobbed and folded his hands, saying, “Thank you, I will not disappoint you again, I will not let this happen.”
“I cannot be in here no more,” he said.
Magloire was on the sex offender registry as far back as two decades ago. In 1998, he was convicted of injury or risk of injury to or impairing the morals of children.
That did not stop him from <a href="https://www.thehour.com/norwalk/article/Schools-sex-offender-was-never-custodian-8293006.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener">trying</a> to get a job as a custodian at an elementary school a few years later in 2007 and even showing up at the school, causing an uproar among parents.

I&#8217;ve written a good deal about the damage that the field of modern psychiatry has done to mankind, across a variety of contexts. Most of the harms — the invention of gender ideology, the mass overprescribing of psychotropic drugs, and so on — are relatively widely known. What&#8217;s less well-known, because not a lot of people talk about it, is the sinister influence of modern psychiatry on our criminal justice system. For all the criticism to be made of Soros D.A.&#8217;s and Democrats&#8217; refusal to prosecute criminals — all of it justified — the role of modern psychiatry in freeing violent offenders is often ignored. But it&#8217;s very much a crisis in this country, and it&#8217;s been one for some time.
It was all the way back in the early 1970s when a man named Charles Meach beat a 22-year-old grocery store clerk to death in Anchorage, Alaska. He was found not guilty by reason of insanity, and shipped off to a mental institution. But just seven years later, Meach was released. Psychiatrists claimed Meach had made a full recovery. He promised he wouldn&#8217;t murder anyone in the future, and that was good enough, apparently. After all, why would he lie? What had Charles Meach ever done to prove himself untrustworthy? I mean, aside from the whole beating-someone-to-death thing. So he was released on the honor system. He pinky promised not to murder ever again. But the promise was short-lived. Two years later, Meach purchased a revolver and murdered four teenagers at a campsite, just for the thrill of it.
Reforms were promised after that massacre, and you can see why. It was a pretty clear sign that mental health professionals should stop pretending that murderers can somehow be &#8220;cured&#8221; of their murderous tendencies. Murder is not, in fact, a symptom of an illness. It is a manifestation of human evil. And people who commit those kinds of evil acts should be locked in prison forever.
But psychiatrists were not dissuaded. Instead, our sainted mental health professionals, with the help of mostly Democrat-controlled state governments across the country, have continued to embed themselves into the criminal justice system. Their psychiatric facilities now function as safe houses for violent thugs like Jordan Neely, who didn&#8217;t go to prison even after he punched an elderly woman in the face on the subway and broke her nose. Instead, Neely was offered &#8220;intensive outpatient psychiatric treatment,&#8221; which would supposedly cure him of his addiction to terrorizing random people on the train. And we all know how that turned out.
Any rational person who looks at incidents like this will recognize immediately what&#8217;s going on. Left-wing prosecutors have found a kind of hack that enables them to release extremely dangerous criminals, even when their guilt is beyond any doubt. All the prosecutors have to do is find some hippy psychiatrist to sign off on a &#8220;treatment plan,&#8221; and then pretty much anything is possible. They could release some of the most dangerous and depraved criminals on the planet, who committed their crimes not too long ago, based solely on the pseudoscience of modern psychiatry — which is completely subjective, and often relies entirely on the promise of the criminal not to reoffend. There is no crime — and I really mean no crime — so heinous that the criminal cannot be released back into society if a psychiatrist claims that he’s been successfully “treated.”

If you think I’m exaggerating, then please consider the case of Tyree Smith, which has to be one of the most outrageous miscarriages of justice we&#8217;ve ever seen in American history. Tyree Smith confessed to the brutal murder of a 43-year-old homeless man in a vacant apartment in Connecticut back in 2011. Smith was apparently <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20130820075136/https://www.ctpost.com/local/article/accused-cannibal-considered-eating-psychiatrist-4653241.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener">distressed</a> about losing his job at Starbucks, before he began to hear voices in his head. 
Now, the details of his crime are so horrific that I’m sorry that I have to share them with you. But it’s important that you have the full story. So here it is. Smith used an axe to kill the man inside an abandoned home in Bridgeport. He then hacked up the man’s body, removed several of his organs — an eyeball and some of his brain — and then ate them at cemetery nearby. So this is an axe murdering graveyard cannibal we’re talking about. Something straight out of a horror film. The man&#8217;s body (or what was left of it) wasn&#8217;t found for nearly 40 days. At trial, Smith was found not guilty by reason of insanity. In 2013, a panel of judges committed Smith to a mental institution for 60 years.
But Smith will not spend anywhere near 60 years in a mental institution.
Instead, something called the &#8220;Psychiatric Security Review Board&#8221; in Connecticut has just granted Smith a &#8220;conditional release.&#8221; That means he&#8217;ll receive &#8220;day passes&#8221; to wander around the hospital grounds as he pleases. And very soon, he&#8217;ll be able to make &#8220;off-site&#8221; visits into the community.

If you had told me a few years ago that woke justice reform would soon lead to the release of an axe murderer cannibal, it would have seemed too outlandish even to me. Even if you have a black murderer and a white victim, as you do in this case — even given everything we&#8217;ve seen during the moral panic of the BLM era — it still seems unthinkable. And it only gets more unthinkable when you look into the specifics of Tyree Smith&#8217;s case and why he was released.
First of all, it’s perhaps worth nothing, this decision was made during a hearing in which Tyree Smith wasn&#8217;t even present. He teleconferenced in, and he didn&#8217;t appear on the video screens in the hearing room. Right away, that should be disqualifying. You will not find very many employers in this country that are willing to hire a job applicant after a phone call, without seeing the applicant in any way. Which means it is, at least in some ways, more difficult for a normal person to get a job at Walmart than it is for a homicidal cannibal to get released from an asylum.
So why is Connecticut releasing Tyree Smith? As the hearing went on, a psychiatrist testified that Smith has recovered. He is a reformed cannibal. His axe murdering days are behind him. And her evidence for this statement is that Smith has denied experiencing any hallucinations, or a desire to harm other people. He’s better now, and we know he’s better now, because he says he’s better now. I&#8217;m going to play that clip from the hearing, then at the end you&#8217;ll see a question from the prosecutor to the doctor. Watch:

As you just heard, evidence of Tyree Smith&#8217;s “recovery” is based on self-reported data. They “know” that he hasn’t had any hallucinations or cravings to consume human flesh because he told them: &#8220;He denied visual hallucinations or a desire to harm others or himself.&#8221; Well, okay then. What more do you need to know? Oh and by the way, if he stops taking his medications, he could totally become a cannibal again. But he pinky-promises that he&#8217;ll keep taking his medications, and stop murdering people.
Of course, at the same time, Smith also knows that his only chance of ever seeing the outside world again is to lie about all of this. So either he is an axe murderer cannibal who grew out of it like a child grows out of a bed-wetting phase, or he’s lying. There’s about a 99.9999 percent chance of the latter.
At the hearing, one of the victim&#8217;s family members pointed this out. She remarked, “How do we really know he’s not going to do this again? He had no remorse for killing Angel.” She also said that the whole family is terrified because it&#8217;s quite possible Tyree Smith will reoffend. Watch:

So the axe-murderer is apparently the life of the party at the insane asylum. He’s a joy to be around. Of course we can probably assume that the man he hacked to death and then consumed would disagree with this assessment. But he’s not here — because he’s dead. The point is that, as long as Tyree Smith isn’t axe-murdering, he’s really quite pleasant. But that&#8217;s small comfort to the family of his victim, who really wants an answer to a pretty basic question, which is: What assurances do we have that he won&#8217;t kill us, exactly?
In their report, the Connecticut psychiatry board includes this line, which is really an all-time caliber line. If you&#8217;re assembling a hall-of-fame of the most deranged statements that the medical profession has tried to pass off as legitimate, this would have to be very high on the list. This is directly from the Connecticut psychiatry board&#8217;s report. I’m <a href="https://www.ctpost.com/news/article/bridgeport-ct-tyree-smith-released-18394546.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener">not making this up</a>, I assure you: &#8220;He denied experiencing cravings but stated that if they were to arise, he would reach out to his hospital and community supports and providers.&#8221;
Yes, cravings. So just relax, everybody. There&#8217;s nothing to worry about. The Connecticut psychiatric board is releasing an axe murderer cannibal back into society, but they assure us that if he experiences any “cravings” for the taste of human flesh, he will immediately “reach out” for help. They’re going to release him but they’ll say on his way out the door: “Hey, make sure to reach out if you ever feel like eating someone’s brain!” And that should do it. What a relief. In the last decade or so that he&#8217;s been locked away, Tyree Smith has become totally and completely normal. There&#8217;s zero likelihood that Tyree Smith will, say, order Uber Eats and assume that the delivery driver is the meal.
Of course, all of this discussion about whether Tyree Smith is “reformed” actually misses the point anyway. Even in the fantasyland scenario where an axe murderer could be transformed into a functional, tax-paying member of society, he still shouldn’t be released. He should be in prison as a matter of basic justice. If he&#8217;s truly cured of his schizophrenia and murderous tendencies, then he should be shipped to a maximum-security prison. The idea that he belongs in civilized society, after brutally murdering a man and then eating him, is only appealing if you&#8217;re the kind of person who — for one reason or another — sympathizes more with killers than the victims who are killed. And that&#8217;s the kind of attitude that defines a lot of psychiatrists.
For example, I looked up one of the Yale psychiatrists who testified for the defense in Smith&#8217;s original trial, named Reena Kapoor (pronouns she/her/hers). She&#8217;s written a lot of articles about her time working with murderers who were found not guilty by reason of insanity. Here&#8217;s a direct <a href="https://jaapl.org/content/36/4/563.long" target="_blank" rel="noopener">quote</a> from one of those articles. It&#8217;s about how an inmate — a murderer — asked to take a walk with her while in prison. And apparently it left her very hot and bothered:

In fact, neither of us ever mentioned the idea again. &#8230; As far as I know, J.M. does not speak of me longingly or wax nostalgic about our year of psychotherapy. .. As for me, I have had some time to reflect on things, and I am plagued by one last question about J.M.&#8217;s request to take a walk with me. Why did he ask to take a walk in particular? Why not ask to see a movie or have lunch together?</blockquote>
It reads like an early 2000s MySpace post or a LiveJournal blog from a teenage girl who&#8217;s infatuated with serial killers. But it&#8217;s not. It&#8217;s an excerpt from an article published in the &#8220;Journal of the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law.&#8221; This is how a lot of &#8220;doctors&#8221; in the field of psychiatry conduct themselves. It&#8217;s the kind of thing they fantasize about. And in Tyree Smith&#8217;s case, they have taken their ideology to its logical conclusion. Of course, they don&#8217;t want Smith to live anywhere near their neighborhoods. They just want you to have to deal with him.
This is bleeding heart liberalism in its final, horrifically deranged and monstrous, and also literal, form. Although, as I’ve often pointed out, this isn’t actually due to an overabundance of compassion or sensitivity. It’s exactly the opposite. These decisions are fueled by a kind of psychotic indifference to the immense human suffering that will inevitably come as a result. The people who made this decision know that there&#8217;s a high likelihood that this man will butcher another person, and they just don’t care. They are just as psychotic as he is. In Russia, they <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/11/24/news/cannibal-serial-killer-denis-gorin-pardoned-by-putin-for-fighting-in-ukraine/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">send</a> their cannibals to fight in war, to inflict horrors on the enemies of the state. That happened several times in just the past few years, during the war in Ukraine. But in the United States, psychiatrists want cannibals to inflict those horrors on Americans.
When modern psychiatry was just getting started in 19th century Britain, something called the &#8220;Alleged Lunatics&#8217; Friend Society&#8221; formed. They saw psychiatrists as completely illegitimate — as totalitarians who just wanted to imprison people without due process. And there was indeed a long period of time where psychiatry was used to imprison people who were not dangerous and had done nothing wrong. We now have the exact opposite problem. Psychiatry has done a 180 flip. Deranged lunatics are being freed as a means of circumventing the criminal justice system. The common thread here — the the thing that ties together these two extremes — is that in both cases psychiatry is a cover to inflict horrors beyond comprehension onto the public.
The reality — and this really shouldn’t need to be said — is that someone who kills another human and eats his brain will never be fit to live freely in society ever again. This should not be a controversial statement. In fact, it should be the least controversial statement ever uttered. But in psychiatry, it is controversial, which is why people living in Connecticut are worried that they&#8217;re back on the menu tonight. The truth is that the people who freed the axe murderer cannibal are just as demented as the axe murderer cannibal himself. They haven’t consumed human flesh at a graveyard — as far as I know, anyway — but they are equally deranged. And because they have a lot more power, and are legitimized under the veil of “science,” they are quite a bit more dangerous.

A convicted pedophile and illegal migrant was released from a Connecticut prison last month after his sympathetic parole board mulled how to best help him avoid deportation.
The Trump administration, the parole board decided, would not be able to get its act together fast enough to deport the illegal migrant pedophile before his 30-day immigration detainer runs out. &#8220;They can&#8217;t elect a Speaker of the House,&#8221; one board member scoffed.
Guerino Magloire, 52, was <a href="http://www.ctinmateinfo.state.ct.us/detailsupv.asp?id_inmt_num=255393" target="_blank" rel="noopener">serving</a> five years in prison for felony second degree sexual assault against a child between 13 and 15 years old. He was convicted of sexually assaulting the child on March 11, 2020, just as pandemic lockdowns were starting, and he was sentenced in November the next year.
During his parole <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RluWJ6xkhQo" target="_blank" rel="noopener">hearing</a> on New Year&#8217;s Eve, Magloire said he cannot promise he will not offend again.
&#8220;I can&#8217;t say I promise that it&#8217;s not going to happen because that&#8217;s not always a thing, when you say, &#8216;Oh I promise,'&#8221; Magloire told the parole board. &#8220;No, I&#8217;m not going to say I promise, but I will definitely try to do my best, my best to keep myself away from situations like that again.&#8221;
Magloire scored as a moderate to high risk on an evaluation <a href="https://www.sog.unc.edu/sites/default/files/course_materials/3.0%20Static-99R-Coding-Form_0.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">used</a> to predict whether a male sexual offender will reoffend.
Despite those red flags, the parole board released him that day from Carl Robinson Correctional Institution north of Hartford.

Magloire is in the country illegally. He came to the United States from Haiti in 1984 when he was 11 and currently has an immigration detainer, meaning Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is ready to deport him as soon as he is released from prison.
His parole board lamented the situation. The board <a href="https://portal.ct.gov/bopp/bopp_front-_pages/common-elements/about-us/meet-the-parole-board" target="_blank" rel="noopener">included</a> two women, Rufaro <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/rufaro-berry-a1316b144/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Berry</a> and Deborah Smith-<a href="https://www.notredamehs.com/about/leadership?id=3750" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Palmieri</a>, and one man, Michael Pohl.
&#8220;Unfortunately the person who&#8217;s taking over our current administration, he&#8217;s going to make sure that people like yourself are deported back,&#8221; Berry told Magloire. &#8220;It&#8217;s unfortunate that I think that the moment that we say that you&#8217;re going to be granted, or if we grant your discretionary parole, the process will begin.&#8221;
&#8220;I want to be perfectly clear,&#8221; she told the convict. &#8220;If we grant your discretionary parole today, you&#8217;ll be transported to a halfway house where you&#8217;ll wait for ICE to pick you up, and you will be returned. You won&#8217;t reunite with your family. That&#8217;s not going to happen, sir.&#8221;
&#8220;Oh, so they&#8217;re going to take me right back?&#8221; Magloire asked.
&#8220;They&#8217;re going to take you right back in a matter of days,&#8221; Berry responded.
&#8220;So even though the country is in turmoil the way it is?&#8221; he said.
&#8220;That&#8217;s not our concern. That&#8217;s out of our control,&#8221; she said.
Magloire shook his head.
&#8220;Yeah,&#8221; Berry said.
Berry suggested Magloire might have a better chance of fighting his deportation detainer in prison than if he is &#8220;sent out of the country and trying to get back.&#8221;
However, another board member, Pohl pushed back with a different perspective.
&#8220;So my take on this is that we parole him today because they can&#8217;t elect a Speaker of the House — I don&#8217;t think the Trump administration is going to be in a position in the next 30 days, which is what they hold him, to deport him,&#8221; Pohl said.
Berry responded enthusiastically — &#8220;Really!&#8221; — when she learned the ICE detainer would last only 30 days rather than 90.
&#8220;I don&#8217;t want to make less of what happened in this offense,&#8221; Pohl added quickly.
&#8220;No, of course not,&#8221; Berry said.
The board took a brief recess to speak with the detainer supervisor and questioned Magloire about where he was in the process of fighting the deportation order.
In the end, all three parole board members agreed to release Magloire, deciding he would have the &#8220;best opportunity to dispute this immigration detainer if he is granted discretionary parole.&#8221;
Magloire sobbed and folded his hands, saying, &#8220;Thank you, I will not disappoint you again, I will not let this happen.&#8221;
&#8220;I cannot be in here no more,&#8221; he said.
Magloire was on the sex offender registry as far back as two decades ago. In 1998, he was convicted of injury or risk of injury to or impairing the morals of children.
That did not stop him from <a href="https://www.thehour.com/norwalk/article/Schools-sex-offender-was-never-custodian-8293006.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener">trying</a> to get a job as a custodian at an elementary school a few years later in 2007 and even showing up to the school, causing an uproar among parents.

Magloire&#8217;s current offense happened in the Waterbury area, where local police <a href="https://www.jud2.ct.gov/crdockets/CaseDetailDisp.aspx?source=Pending&amp;Key=bade4941-45e7-4a22-be1e-d39e8342de78" target="_blank" rel="noopener">arrested</a> him and the city&#8217;s courts convicted him after he pled guilty, according to the parole hearing docket and inmate information <a href="http://www.ctinmateinfo.state.ct.us/detailsupv.asp?id_inmt_num=255393" target="_blank" rel="noopener">from</a> the Connecticut Department of Correction.
He was originally denied parole in May of 2023.
At several points during Magloire&#8217;s recent parole hearing, board members appeared to appreciate the serious nature of the situation.
Both Berry and Pohl expressed concern with Magloire saying he cannot promise not to offend again.
Magloire told them, &#8220;I did say that I can&#8217;t promise not making a mistake.&#8221;
&#8220;For you to sit here and say that I can&#8217;t make that promise, while I respect your being honest, I really struggle with that statement because nobody else&#8217;s child deserves to suffer through this ever again,&#8221; Berry said.
When Magloire blamed his offense on drinking alcohol and &#8220;being around certain friends,&#8221; Berry pointed out that while alcohol might lower his inhibitions, &#8220;you already had those thoughts in your head about sexually offending.&#8221;
However, none of the board&#8217;s concerns were enough to deny his parole.
Smith-Palmieri noted that Magloire completed a sex offender program and &#8220;got all he could out of the program&#8221; despite some &#8220;intellectual deficiencies&#8221; that may have interfered.
&#8220;I feel so remorseful for the pain of the child that I made a mistake on,&#8221; Magloire said, asking the parole board to tell the child&#8217;s mother that &#8220;I apologize for that.&#8221;
&#8220;At the time I wasn&#8217;t thinking too well, clearly,&#8221; he said, but now he has a &#8220;clear mind not to do the wrong.&#8221;
At least one of the parole board members is open about his political leanings online.
Pohl is <a href="https://www.manchesterctdems.info/mike-pohl/?_sm_nck=1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">also</a> the chairman of the Manchester Democrats, and an X account that appears to belong to him <a href="https://x.com/mikepohl12?lang=de" target="_blank" rel="noopener">is a</a> hodgepodge of Democrat retweets, as well as a retweet of a post about Connecticut&#8217;s prison population being at a nearly two-decade low.
Pohl also apparently posted &#8220;Class&#8221; in response to Bill Clinton wishing Joe Biden a happy birthday and in another post, &#8220;Don&#8217;t ever let them forget what happened&#8221; on January 6, saying local Republican leaders remained silent.

Murphy, who mocked President-elect Donald Trump over the summer as “ridiculous” and “reckless” during the presidential campaign, released a video on Sunday in which he demagogued the issue of violence against the heads of insurance companies.
“Listen, I think that political leaders in this country need to be part of this conversation that’s happening all over the country in the wake of the shooting of the United Healthcare CEO,” he declared. Then, patting himself on the back, he continued. “I know that it’s fraught; I know that it’s uncomfortable, but this is really important.”
“Listen, I’m never going to condone violence; I don’t here,” he stated. “I spend my entire life fighting gun violence because I know that the devastation is enormous that it leaves behind. What I see happening in this country, though, is a real visceral anger, that the outrage at Brian Thompson’s death, or the outrage at the death of any powerful person, isn’t matched by the anger over the thousands of people who die often anonymous deaths every single day in this country at the hands of a healthcare industry that mostly doesn’t give a sh** about people, and only care about profits.”

A Democrat U.S. senator on Thursday called for the mysterious drones being sighted over multiple northeastern states to be shot down if they threaten sensitive areas. 
Sen. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/richard-blumenthal" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Richard Blumenthal</a> (D-CT) said the U.S. government needed to take a more aggressive approach to responding to the drones and that it was “absolutely unacceptable” how little information people was being passed on to citizens. The drones have mainly been spotted in New Jersey, but there have also been sightings above nearby states like Connecticut and New York. 
&#8220;We should be doing some very smart intelligence analysis and take them out of the skies, especially if they&#8217;re flying over airports or military bases,&#8221; Blumenthal said. &#8220;They should be shot down, if necessary, because they&#8217;re flying over sensitive areas.&#8221;
He said that his office had seen an influx of residents expressing concerns. 
&#8220;I&#8217;m hearing from constituents in the metropolitan area around New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, who are really terrified by these drones flying unidentified over airports and military bases,&#8221; Blumenthal said. 
New Jersey Republican Reps. Chris Smith and Jeff Van Drew <a href="https://www.axios.com/2024/12/12/new-jersey-drone-sightings-new-york-senators" target="_blank" rel="noopener">previously</a> demanded the drones be shot down.
The FBI and Department of Homeland Security <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dhs-fbi-release-statement-about-drone-sightings-in-new-jersey" target="_blank" rel="noopener">issued</a> a joint statement on Thursday saying there was &#8220;no evidence&#8221; of a threat. 
“We have no evidence at this time that the reported drone sightings pose a national security or public safety threat or have a foreign nexus,” the statement said. “The FBI, DHS and our federal partners, in close coordination with the New Jersey State Police, continue to deploy personnel and technology to investigate this situation and confirm whether the reported drone flights are actually drones or are instead manned aircraft or otherwise inaccurate sightings.”

Sen. Blumenthal also urged Americans not to buy Chinese-made drones. 
&#8220;Chinese manufactured drones are real and present a threat to the security of this country,&#8221;  he said. &#8220;We have to stop using them.&#8221;
The comments come as the Justice Department <a href="https://www.justice.gov/usao-cdca/pr/brentwood-man-arrested-allegedly-flying-drone-over-and-photographing-vandenberg-space" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> this week that a 39-year-old Chinese citizen had been arrested for allegedly flying a drone over the Vandenberg Space Force Base in California and taking photos. The man, Yinpiao Zhou, was arrested by authorities before boarding a flight to China. 
“This defendant allegedly flew a drone over a military base and took photos of the base&#8217;s layout, which is against the law,” said United States Attorney Martin Estrada. “The security of our nation is of paramount importance and my office will continue to promote the safety of our nation’s military personnel and facilities.”

Multiple <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/democratic-party" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Democratic</a> members of the U.S. House of Representatives from Connecticut were targeted with bomb threats on Thanksgiving.
The threats come a day after the Trump transition team <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-picks-targeted-in-violent-unamerican-threats" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> that several of President-elect Donald Trump&#8217;s nominees received bomb threats.
Reps. Joe Courtney (D-CT), Jahana Hayes (D-CT), Jim Himes (D-CT), and John Larson (D-CT) all said in statements that their homes were targeted.
The lawmakers released the following statements:

<li>Courtney: &#8220;Early this morning, Mr. Courtney&#8217;s home was targeted with a bomb threat while he and his family were at home to celebrate Thanksgiving. Thanks to the swift and professional response of Vernon Police Chief Marc Petruzzi and Lieutenant Robert Mara, the United States Capitol Police, and the bomb squad, the Courtneys are safe, and there was no evidence found of a bomb on their property. Joe and Audrey extend their utmost gratitude to the law enforcement officers, whose response should signal to perpetrators that these types of threats will not be tolerated.&#8221;</li>
<li>Hayes: &#8220;At 7:47am I was notified by Chief Edward Stephens of the Wolcott Police Department that they received a threatening email stating a pipe bomb had been placed in the mailbox at my home. State police, U.S. Capitol Police, and the Sergeant at Arms were immediately notified. The Wolcott Police Department and State Police responded and no bomb or explosive materials were discovered and the scene was cleared. At this time the investigation is ongoing. I thank law enforcement for their swift attention to this matter, their actions demonstrate there is no place in our country for political violence. On this Thanksgiving, I am grateful for my family and loved ones. I plan to spend the day with them and hope you all do the same. May you have a safe and happy Thanksgiving.&#8221;</li>
<li>Himes: &#8220;This morning, I was notified of a bomb threat targeting my home where I was celebrating Thanksgiving with my family. Thankfully, after a swift and thorough response from the United States Capitol Police, the Greenwich Police Department, and the Stamford Police Department, no evidence of a bomb was found. Mary, Emma, Linley, and I extend our utmost gratitude to our local law enforcement officers for their immediate action to ensure our safety. There is no place for political violence in this country, and I hope that we may all continue through the holiday season with peace and civility.&#8221;</li>
<li>Larson: &#8220;Early this morning, East Hartford Police came to my home in response to a bomb threat. The police determined no bomb was present at the property and the Larson family is safe. I would like to thank the East Hartford Police Department for their swift and professional response in ensuring the safety of my family. I am grateful that my colleagues in the Connecticut Congressional Delegation, who received similar threats, are also safe. Thanks again to law enforcement at every level, from local, to state, to federal.&#8221;</li>

The threats came after the Trump transition team <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-picks-targeted-in-violent-unamerican-threats" target="_blank" rel="noopener">revealed</a> on Wednesday that several Trump nominees and appointees were targeted &#8220;in violent, unAmerican threats to their lives and those who live with them,&#8221; according to the transition team.

&#8220;These attacks ranged from bomb threats to ‘swatting,’&#8221; the statement said. &#8220;In response, law enforcement and other authorities acted quickly to ensure the safety of those who were targeted. President Trump and the entire Transition team are grateful for their swift action.&#8221;
The Trump team said that the &#8220;dangerous acts of intimidation and violence will not deter us.&#8221;
Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), Trump’s pick to be U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, said she and her family were targeted by a bomb threat.
“This morning, Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, her husband, and their three year old son were driving home to Saratoga County from Washington for Thanksgiving when they were informed of a bomb threat to their residence. New York State, County law enforcement, and U.S. Capitol Police responded immediately with the highest levels of professionalism,” Stefanik’s congressional office said in a statement.
“We are incredibly appreciative of the extraordinary dedication of law enforcement officers who keep our communities safe 24/7,” Stefanik’s office added. “We want to share our best wishes to the Upstate NY community for a happy and safe Thanksgiving. We are especially grateful to our law enforcement officers and military families who are on duty over the holiday season.”
Others followed with announcements that they, too, had been targeted.
Former Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY), Trump’s nominee for EPA administrator, said a “pipe bomb threat targeting me and my family at our home today was sent in with a pro-Palestinian themed message.” He added that his family was not at home at the time and said they are working with law enforcement.
Trump’s pick to lead the Agriculture Department, Brooke Rollins, said on X that on Wednesday morning, “we learned that a threat was issued against our home and family.&#8221; She also thanked the Fort Worth Police Department for their “swift efforts” and noted that she and her family were safe.
Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer (R-OR), Trump’s selection to be the next secretary of Labor, said she and her family were targeted by a pipe bomb threat at their Oregon home. The congresswoman also thanked the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office for its “quick response” and said they were safe.
Trump’s nominee to head the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Scott Turner, said his home was targeted by a bomb threat on the eve of Thanksgiving and expressed gratitude to law enforcement for their “swift and professional” response.
Punchbowl News reported former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Trump’s nominee to be U.S. Attorney General until Gaetz withdrew from consideration last week, received a pipe bomb threat that prompted a bomb squad response in Florida. Fox News reported defense secretary nominee Pete Hegseth and CIA director nominee John Ratcliffe also received threats while Bloomberg reported commerce secretary nominee Howard Lutnick’s home in Manhattan received a bomb threat.

Former Trump White House chief strategist <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/steve-bannon" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Steve Bannon</a> was released from federal prison in Connecticut on Tuesday morning after four months behind bars for his conviction on contempt of Congress charges.
Bannon, 70, was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/former-trump-aide-steve-bannon-begins-federal-prison-sentence" target="_blank" rel="noopener">imprisoned</a> on July 1 after he was convicted for not complying with a subpoena from the Democrat-run January 6 Committee in 2022. The committee had instructed Bannon to testify and produce certain documents, which he declined to do, citing executive privilege. After an attempt to stay the sentence pending appeal and denial to review the case by the Supreme Court, Bannon reported to federal prison. 
“If you’re not prepared to go to prison to fight for your country,” Bannon <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/10/29/us/steve-bannon-prison-release.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> the New York Times on Tuesday. “You’re not prepared to fight for your country.”
The former Trump aide is <a href="https://apnews.com/article/steve-bannon-prison-release-56f2f7a17ae2273a29a0829234f56fae">expected</a> to speak at a news conference in Manhattan later on Tuesday. Before he went into the prison, Bannon said that the Justice Department was targeting him for his political views. 
“I am proud to go to prison,” he <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/07/01/us-news/trump-ally-steve-bannon-says-hes-proud-to-go-to-prison-as-he-surrenders-for-contempt-of-congress-conviction/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>. “If this is what it takes to stand up to tyranny; if this is what it takes to stand up to the [Attorney General Merrick] Garland corrupt criminal DOJ; if this is what it takes to stand up to Nancy Pelosi; if this is what it takes to stand up to Joe Biden — I’m proud to do it.”

Bannon is not the only former Trump ally who has spent time behind bars. Peter Navarro, the director of the Office of Trade and Manufacturing Policy under Trump, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-ally-peter-navarro-freed-from-prison-to-speak-at-rnc" target="_blank" rel="noopener">served</a> four months in prison earlier this year after being convicted on contempt of Congress charges. 
Navarro, 75, was convicted and sentenced after he did not show up for a deposition with the January 6 Committee and did not provide it with certain documents, also citing the doctrine of executive privilege.
“I’m afraid for this country because this, what they’re doing, should have a chilling effect on every American regardless of their party,” Navarro said before turning himself in to federal authorities in March. “They come for me, they can come for you.”
Navarro completed his sentence on July 17. Just hours after his release, Navarro traveled to the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee to speak. 
“The J6 committee demanded that I betray Donald John Trump to save my own skin,” Navarro <a href="https://apnews.com/article/peter-navarro-prison-republican-national-committee-2b443fdbf14164fed4650332aaf6d0c9" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> during his convention speech. “I refused.”
