Responding to the House GOP&#8217;s exposé of the apparent collusion between supposed guardians of free speech and advertisers, billionaire Elon Musk said on Thursday that his social media platform X would sue the perpetrators of the advertising boycott against conservative news organizations.
The House Judiciary Committee, led by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), held a hearing on Wednesday. During the hearing, they interviewed four people regarding the issue: The Daily Wire co-founder Ben Shapiro; Herrish Patel, the president of Unilever; Christian Juhl, the Global Chief Executive Officer of GroupM; and Spencer Waller, a professor at Loyola University Chicago School of Law.
“Having seen the evidence unearthed today by Congress, X has no choice but to file suit against the perpetrators and collaborators in the advertising boycott racket. Hopefully, some states will consider criminal prosecution,” Musk tweeted.

The House Judiciary Committee released a report in which it <a href="https://judiciary.house.gov/sites/evo-subsites/republicans-judiciary.house.gov/files/evo-media-document/2024-07-10%20GARMs%20Harm%20-%20How%20the%20Worlds%20Biggest%20Brands%20Seek%20to%20Control%20Online%20Speech.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stated</a>, “In exercising oversight of the adequacy and sufficiency of existing U.S. antitrust laws, the Committee has been investigating apparent collusion within the World Federation of Advertisers (WFA) and specifically its Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM) initiative. Through GARM, large corporations, advertising agencies, and industry associations participated in boycotts and other coordinated action to demonetize platforms, podcasts, news outlets, and other content deemed disfavored by GARM and its members.”
Earlier this month, Musk&#8217;s X <a href="https://x.com/Safety/status/1807793931003768991">announced</a> it had &#8220;reinstated&#8221; its relationship with the WFA and GARM and was &#8220;proud to be part of the GARM community!&#8221; X is currently <a href="https://wfanet.org/leadership/garm/members-governance">listed</a> as a GARM member on WFA&#8217;s website.
“By basically demonetizing conservative platforms and websites, you make it that tough for those ideas to be heard,” Jordan <a href="https://www.newsmax.com/newsmax-tv/jim-jordan-garm-conservative-speech/2024/07/10/id/1172009/">told</a> Newsmax. “We asked the question for one of the companies who is on the board of this organization GARM, Global Alliance for Responsible Media — misnamed, should be named HARM — one of the companies that was there. I said, do you advertise on The Daily Wire? Do they advertise on Newsmax? Do they advertise on Breitbart?”
“And the answer to those questions was no. But they advertise on &#8216;The View.&#8217; They advertise in The Washington Post. So it&#8217;s totally biased. We all know that instinctively, but now we have documents that show it,” he added.
Jordan pointed out a reported attempt by GARM to boycott X after Musk bought it in October 2022.
“They use this term &#8216;uncommon collaboration,&#8217; which is a fancy way of saying it&#8217;s a cartel, and we&#8217;re going to set these standards,” Jordan said. “But the standards are such that they&#8217;re so subjective. They can sort of be gotten around any way you want. And then all they really do is advertise on left sides or where there are sites with no politics, and they never seem to put any advertising dollars or very little when it comes to conservative platforms and conservative websites.”

Transgender social media influencer <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/dylan-mulvaney">Dylan Mulvaney</a> proposed an idea for a Western-themed <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/bud-light">Bud Light</a> commercial following the backlash the brand received after making him a brand partner.
Mulvaney discussed becoming the target of “hate and vitriol” after he partnered with Bud Light and sparked a nationwide <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/boycott">boycott</a> that impacted its parent company, Anheuser-Busch. 
The TikTok influencer, who became popular for documenting his <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/transgender">transition</a> process in the “Days of Girlhood” video series, said companies should forge true partnerships with trans-identified spokespersons rather than engaging in “performative” marketing catered to those groups.
“If you’re going to ask us to capitalize on our vulnerabilities and our traumas, at least have our backs when the going gets tough,” Mulvaney told Seth Matlins, managing director of the Forbes CMO Network, at the 2023 Forbes CMO Summit in Miami. Their conversation occurred in front of a crowd of other marketing executives, the outlet <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/maryroeloffs/2023/10/03/dylan-mulvaney-opens-up-about-bud-light-controversy-hiring-trans-people-should-not-be-political/?sh=f193aa68b42f">reported</a>.
The influencer mentioned feeling “personally guilty” for what happened, then went on to propose an idea for a Bud Light commercial. Mulvaney said hiring trans-identifying people “should not be political.”

Mulvaney pitched a commercial set in a western saloon, the outlet wrote. The narrative would involve a “trans woman” on one side of the saloon and a famous cowboy coming in the door. The camera would zoom in on the trans person in high heels and the celebrity in cowboy boots walking toward each other. The camera would pan out, showing them cracking a beer together and delivering the line, “There’s room for all of us beer drinkers in this town.”
After partnering with Mulvaney earlier this year, Bud Light rapidly lost market share as it struggled to rehabilitate its image. 
In the first week of the controversy, Bud Light sales decreased 11%, and its stock plunged 20% by the beginning of June. Sales drops persisted over the summer as the boycott kept going strong. 
Anheuser-Busch’s overall U.S. revenue was down 10.5% in the second quarter of 2023 (April to June) compared to the same period in 2022, and the company’s sales to U.S. retailers fell 14% by early August. By June, Bud Light had been dethroned as America’s best-selling beer by the Mexican beer brand Modelo.
The marketing executive who decided to partner with Mulvaney was let go from the company. Anheuser-Busch tried to soothe ruffled feathers with CEO Brendan Whitworth telling customers in mid-April, “We never intended to be part of a discussion that divides people,” and “We are in the business of bringing people together over a beer.”

In a letter that addressed what the group called the &#8220;cancel culture&#8221; against the Native American population and the erasure of its &#8220;steadfast role in American history, including serving as counselors to the Founding Fathers in the creation of the U.S. constitution.&#8221;
The letter talked about the history of the Washington football team and it&#8217;s relationship with the Native American community dating back to its 1933 season when they were named the <a href="https://sportsteamhistory.com/boston-redskins/#:~:text=The%20team%20was%20founded%20in%201932%20by%20George%20Preston%20Marshall,for%20more%20than%2080%20years." target="_blank" rel="noopener">Boston Redskins</a>.
&#8220;At this moment in history, we are formally requesting that the team revitalize its relationship with the American Indian community by (i) changing the name back to &#8216;The Redskins&#8217; which recognizes America&#8217;s original inhabitants and (ii) using the team&#8217;s historic name and legacy to encourage Americans to learn about, not cancel, the history of America&#8217;s tribes and our role in the founding of this Great Nation,&#8221; the letter read.
&#8220;Should we need to encourage a national boycott similar to what happened with Anheuser Busch (Bud Light) which is now down $27 billion (note, not one brick thrown, not one highway blocked, not one bridge burned) — WE WILL DO JUST THAT,&#8221; the letter <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/native-american-group-threatens-commanders-boycott-name-change" target="_blank" rel="noopener">added</a>.
The letter closed out by noting that in 2023, this &#8220;oppression and arbitrary and capricious recognition of U.S. history and Constitutional rights is not acceptable.&#8221; The group also vowed to stand their ground because, if &#8220;you don&#8217;t acknowledge history, we are doomed to repeat it.&#8221;
In 2020, the team announced it was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/redskins-cave-announce-thorough-review-of-name-here-are-the-top-suggestions" target="_blank" rel="noopener">removing Redskins</a> from its name and two years later announced the national professional football team would be called the Washington Commanders.

One of the singers behind the anti-woke song &#8220;Boycott Target&#8221; says that the songs catapulted to the top of the charts because the majority of people agree with the message.
Gospel artist Jimmy Levy <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/boycott-target-song-racks-up-millions-of-views-takes-off-on-itunes">teamed up</a> with a political rapper to take on Target as the company was facing backlash for controversial LGBT merchandise that targeted young children.
&#8220;That shows that we&#8217;re the majority no matter what, the mainstream and Hollywood—and the industry wants to promote whatever agenda they want to promote and try to make us look like we&#8217;re the minority— people of God, patriots, Americans,&#8221; he <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/chart-topping-christian-singer-successful-anti-target-song-people-god-patriots-majority">said</a> in an interview. &#8220;It&#8217;s just not the truth. And no matter what, God prevails.&#8221;
“There’s a cleanup on every aisle/Target is targetin’ your kids,” the song’s lyrics open. “This agenda’s gotta stop, they know we gonna win.”
“Target, Target, yeah they targetin’/Target, Target, yeah they target kids,” the song goes, continuing on to lyrics about the LGBT agenda going “too far.”
The video for the song appears to have been shot at a Target store, where LGBT Pride goods are on display for sale.
Levy said in the interview that he was moved to work on the song when he saw the retail giant &#8220;collaborating with Satanists to make children&#8217;s clothing.&#8221;
&#8220;It took like a couple of days for people to be able to actually search it on iTunes. The only way they were able to find it was on the charts. They were not allowing it to be searched,&#8221; Levy claimed. &#8220;And it&#8217;s like, &#8216;why is a song that&#8217;s speaking out against people that are basically grooming our children, getting taken down?&#8217; It&#8217;s just very weird. Why are we protecting that? But we allow all these other horrible things online to just stay on, you know?&#8221;
He said that he received a ton of &#8220;hate, death threats and just horrible things&#8221; after he made the song and another song, &#8220;Reclaim the Rainbow.&#8221;

Podcast giant <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/joe-rogan">Joe Rogan</a> blasted controversial transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney over Bud Light&#8217;s continued decline after parent company Anheuser-Busch lost billions in market cap after its partnership with Mulvaney was revealed.
Rogan made the remarks during a recent episode of &#8220;The Joe Rogan Experience&#8221; with rapper Ice Cube.
Rogan said that major companies only respect people&#8217;s opinions when they &#8220;boycott s*** and it works, like this Bud Light thing.&#8221;
&#8220;Yeah, then and now, people are like, &#8216;Don&#8217;t do that again, (yeah), like, be careful, because look what happened a Bud Light&#8217;,&#8221; he said.
Rogan appeared to take a shot at Bud Light vice president of marketing <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bud-light-marketing-vp-takes-leave-of-absence-amid-dylan-mulvaney-controversy">Alissa Heinerscheid</a>, although he did not use her name, saying, &#8220;And the problem is also you get these people that are coming out of college like this lady who made the decision for Bud Light, you know, she&#8217;s gone through the university system.&#8221;
&#8220;She&#8217;s in the corporate system and she&#8217;s a woman and she thinks you know, &#8216;we have to be more inclusive&#8217; and that&#8217;s all the language everyone&#8217;s using today,&#8221; he said. &#8220;So they don&#8217;t know any real people. They don&#8217;t know regular people.&#8221;
Rogan then turned his attention to Mulvaney.

Industry experts weighed in on Bud Light&#8217;s parent company accepting a prestigious award following the debacle the brand faced after its partnership with transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney, a man who identifies as a woman.
<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bud-lights-slump-continues-as-new-drink-becomes-top-selling-beer-in-america" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Bud Light</a> parent company Anheuser-Busch InBev&#8217;s (AB InBev) top executive Marcel Marcondes was honored with the Creative Marketer of the Year award, the industry&#8217;s equivalent of an Oscar, at the annual Cannes Lions Festival in France, amid a boycott against the brand that sent market shares plummeting, <a href="https://adage.com/article/marketing-news-strategy/ab-inbev-cannes-marketer-year-amid-bud-light-dylan-mulvaney-controversy/2497146?adobe_mc=MCMID%3D15858527137043093011064785156728206412%7CMCORGID%3D138FFF2554E6E7220A4C98C6%2540AdobeOrg%7CTS%3D1687460788&amp;CSAuthResp=1687460819675%3A0%3A5684652%3A150997699%3A24%3Asuccess%3AC548D7D3F15F11EB3B6A9CAA8D78A34C" target="_blank" rel="noopener">AdAge</a> reported.
Opinions on the company accepting the award have been <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/after-bud-light-debacle-ab-inbev-takes-a-bow-at-ad-biz-oscars-fb4acda7?mod=hp_listb_pos2" target="_blank" rel="noopener">mixed,</a> with some who have suggested the agency could&#8217;ve declined.
One agency executive that worked with the company in the past-told AdAge that AB InBev should &#8220;consider seriously addressing the marketing issues they face in the United States before showcasing what they have done or what they think about the wider conversation of marketing.&#8221;
&#8220;They have bigger fish to fry than showing up to an awards show,&#8221; the person who spoke on anonymity added.
Some marketers felt the work that the company did outside of the partnership with Mulvaney shouldn&#8217;t negate the other success it had.
One industry executive said they didn&#8217;t &#8220;think this is as big of an issue globally because Bud Light is a very American brand. They have a ton of work they should still be proud of.&#8221;
An LGBTQ marketer criticized the &#8220;speed at which&#8221; AB InBev &#8220;distanced itself from the Mulvaney controversy. My advice to the AB InBev team is to show up at Cannes Lions with a massive dose of humility.&#8221;
In a press release in March, the <a href="https://www.canneslions.com/news/cannes-lions-honours-ab-inbev-with-the-2023-creative-marketer">festival</a> said, &#8220;The award [Creative Marketer of the Year] recognizes AB InBev&#8217;s sustained creative excellence that has driven sustainable business growth — as well as their body of Lion-winning work amassed over a sustained period of time, and reputation for producing brave creative and innovative marketing solutions.&#8221;
At the festival, <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/06/20/anheuser-busch-wins-cannes-lions-despite-bud-light-and-dylan-mulvaney/">Marcedonas</a> gave opening remarks and labeled the disastrous partnership with Mulvaney a &#8220;wake-up call&#8221; for the industry after consumers boycotted the brand, making it lose the title of best-selling beer in America.
&#8220;In times like this, when things get divisive and controversial so easily, I think it&#8217;s an important wake-up call to all of us marketers, for us to be very humble,&#8221; Marcondes said.
AB InBev is &#8220;really reminding ourselves of what we should do best every day, which is to really understand our customers, which is to really celebrate and appreciate every customer that loves our brands, but in a way that can make them be together, not apart,&#8221; he added.
The executive stopped short of apologizing after AB InBev lost nearly $20 billion in value since the Mulvaney campaign in April.

Rich spoke with <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/john-rich-slams-woke-culture-says-people-dont-want-face-like-bullhorn" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fox News Digital</a> ahead of his CMA Fest performance, reacting to recent news that fellow country star and Nashville bar owner Garth Brooks saying he would still <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/garth-brooks-weighs-in-on-serving-bud-light-at-his-bar-there-are-plenty-of-other-places">sell Bud Light</a> in his establishment despite the backlash and ongoing boycotts over the brand&#8217;s partnership with trans-identified influencer <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/dylan-mulvaney">Dylan Mulvaney</a>. Brooks said if people don’t like that, “there are plenty of other places” they can go.
&#8220;Garth Brooks has always been the guy that said, ‘everybody come to my show,’&#8221; Rich said. &#8220;It&#8217;s something that we love about Garth. You know, he makes his music for everybody. And that really is what music is about. You&#8217;re making your music for everybody. Beer&#8217;s for everybody, too.&#8221;
&#8220;If Garth is serving Bud Light in his bar, that&#8217;s fine. Garth can do that. Garth might find out not many people are going to order it,&#8221; the singer said. &#8220;And at the end of the day, you have to put things in your establishment that people are going to purchase if you&#8217;re going to run a successful business. So, he might find that out.&#8221;
Rich said his customers didn’t want to order Bud Light anymore after the brand chose to partner with Mulvaney.
&#8220;I think people finally had enough of woke culture being right in their face like a bullhorn every time they turn around,&#8221; the “Save a Horse” singer said. &#8220;You know, at the end of a hard-working day, you want to have a cold beer. That&#8217;s like your reward for working hard all day. The last thing any man or woman wants is to have culture slammed right up in their face. They just don&#8217;t want that.&#8221; 
&#8220;So they rejected it, rejected it wholeheartedly, and we moved on to other beers,&#8221; Rich said.
The owner of the live music venue Redneck Riviera Bar &amp; BBQ said he never made a conscious decision to boycott Bud Light, but rather let the customers decide what alcohol should be stocked in the bar. Rich noted that they sold “zero Bud Lights” in the wake of the controversy.
&#8220;I think the majority of people, whether they&#8217;re left, right or otherwise, they care about their families,&#8221; Rich told Fox News. &#8220;I think they respect our military. I think they love and value and cherish their freedom.&#8221;

He added that Bud Light drinkers were always a varied bunch who often disagreed politically but all chose the same brand of beer. The country star said the brand partnering with Mulvaney changed that. 
&#8220;They made it a political social issue on what beer you drink, and I think that&#8217;s a sad statement on our country right now. But, hey, it&#8217;s their money. It&#8217;s their brand. They can market it however they want to, but Americans have responded in a very strong way,” Rich said.

The controversial designer who had his merchandise removed from <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/target">Target</a> following public backlash and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/boycott">boycotts</a> spoke out on the incident, criticizing the retailer for its response.
Target had initially partnered with Erik Carnell of the U.K.-based brand Abprallen to create items for its 2023 Pride Collection. Carnell found himself at the center of a firestorm after critics of Target discovered the Abprallen Etsy shop, which offered merchandise featuring <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/satanic">occult images</a> and phrases such as “Satan Respects Pronouns” and “Trans Witches For Abortion.”
People were also upset that Target was selling “tuck-friendly” swimwear in stores. The retailer responded to the backlash by moving displays to the back in some instances and removing certain controversial items, including Carnell’s designs.
&#8220;It&#8217;s a very dangerous precedent to set, that if people just get riled up enough about the products that you&#8217;re selling, you can completely distance yourself from the LGBT community, when and if it&#8217;s convenient,&#8221; Carnell told Reuters.
&#8220;If you&#8217;re going to take a stance and say that you care about the LGBT community, you need to stand by that regardless,&#8221; he continued.
Carnell also said Target knew about the satanic imagery before extending a partnership offer, as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/target-was-aware-of-satanic-imagery-before-pride-collection-deal-controversial-artist-claims">reported</a>. 
“When I was approached to create products for Target they told me that my work such as ‘Satan Respects Pronouns’ wouldn’t be a good fit,” Carnell said. “They were observant enough and had the necessary critical thinking skills to realize that my use of occult imagery is as harmless as any horror movie targeted towards adults but wanted my collection for adults to be a bit less gothic.”
Carnell explained one of his designs by saying he doesn’t actually believe in Satan.
“One of my favourite and most popular designs, and the one that gave Abprallen its proper footing and direction. Coming up with this phrase really helped make Abprallen what it is today,” he <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CqWFoTmjbXA/">captioned</a> the image of a “Satan respects pronouns” item.
“Satan loves you and respects who you are; you’re important and valuable in this world and you deserve to treat yourself with love and respect. LGBT+ people are so often referred to as being a product of Satan or going against God’s will, so fine. We’ll hang with Satan instead.”
“Satanists don’t actually believe in Satan, he is merely used as a symbol of passion, pride, and liberty. He means to you what you need him to mean. So for me, Satan is hope, compassion, equality, and love,” the post continued.
“So, naturally, Satan respects pronouns. He loves all LGBT+ people. I went with a variation of Baphomet for this design, a deity who themself is a mixture of genders, beings, ideas, and existences. They reject binary stereotypes and expectations. Perfect.”

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/rap-music">Rapper</a> Forgiato Blow says his song “Boycott Target” is being shadowbanned and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/censorship">censored</a>, but those alleged efforts weren’t enough to keep it from reaching number one on the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/apple">Apple</a> iTunes charts ahead of artists like Morgan Wallen, Luke Combs, and Taylor Swift.
The song is a collaboration between Blow and fellow rappers Jimmy Levy, Nick Nittoli, and Stoney Dudebro, per <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/05/30/boycott-target-song-tops-charts-as-rapper-claims-censorship">The New York Post</a>. It was released on May 25 as a way to highlight the current controversy over <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/target">Target’s</a> Pride Collection this year, which included “tuck friendly” swimwear, rainbow-colored baby clothing, and items by a designer who also created “Satan Respects Pronouns” merchandise for his Etsy store. 
“Attention all shoppers, there’s a clean up on every aisle. Target is targeting your kids,” the lyrics begin.
“If you ain’t mad yet/then you better be pissed,” the song continues at another point. “Let’s protest until they close and they ain’t gonna be missed/ Why they got pride shirts in the kids clothing section/ Why they trying to mess with the kids and give misconception/ They manipulating minds and making evil impressions.”
The video has more than 4.4 million views on Blow’s <a href="https://twitter.com/ForgiatoBlow47/status/1661861660351516674">Twitter</a> account. It’s currently ranked number one on Apple charts across all genres.

The artist spoke with <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/boycott-target-rap-climbs-itunes-charts-somebody-stand-kids">Fox News Digital</a> and said Big Tech is censoring him. “It’s shadow-banned all over the world right now,” Blow said of the single.
“You can’t even search the song on iTunes without going to the music video and clicking the external link. So they’re trying their hardest to keep it off the radar,” he said.
Blow went on to say how important it was to speak up about radical &#8220;LGBTQ&#8221; activism, especially when it comes to minors. “We’re living in a culture right now where people need to speak out. We need to stand up for the children,” the rapper said during an interview with “Fox &amp; Friends First.”

Target has been affected by these boycott efforts. The retailer reportedly lost $10 billion in market capitalization in ten days, as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/target-loses-10-billion-in-just-ten-days-report">reported</a>. Execs opted to remove certain Pride Collection items from stores, and in some locations, Pride displays were moved to the back of the store.

Bud Light recently garnered controversy after partnering with social media influencer <a href="http://dailywire.com/topic/dylan-mulvaney" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dylan Mulvaney</a>, a man who identifies as a woman and documented his &#8220;gender transition&#8221; on TikTok. Sales for the beer brand fell 25.7% for the week ended May 20, according to <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/05/30/bud-light-sales-plunge-25-7-modelo-closes-beer-gap/?utm_campaign=nypost&amp;utm_source=twitter&amp;utm_medium=social" target="_blank" rel="noopener">data</a> shared with The New York Post from Bump Williams Consulting and NielsenIQ. Modelo Especial, which saw sales grow 9.2%, could meanwhile replace Bud Light.
“While Bud Light loses week after week, Modelo Especial gains week after week and now Modelo outsells Bud Light on a national basis across all trade channels combined,” Bump Williams remarked in a comment to The New York Post. “If this continues Modelo will surpass Bud Light for the year.”
Other brands owned by Anheuser-Busch continued to decline for the week ended May 20: Budweiser sales decreased 11.2%, Michelob Ultra sales fell 6.5%, Busch Light sales decreased 5.2%, and Natural Light sales dropped 4.9%.
Constellation Brands owns and produces Modelo Especial in the United States, while Anheuser-Busch produces the brand in other nations.
Yuengling Flight sales increased 47.6%. Williams told The New York Post, “Yuengling is having a great moment with the greatest growth of all the premium beers.”
Anheuser-Busch seems to have alienated those on both ends of the political spectrum in the weeks after the controversial partnership with Mulvaney. Owners of gay bars have threatened to launch <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/left-wing-activists-furious-at-bud-light-for-backing-away-from-mulvaney-call-for-a-boycott-of-their-own" target="_blank" rel="noopener">boycotts</a> after the company issued a statement interpreted as downplaying the alliance, while the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the nation’s largest LGBTQ political lobbying organization, removed the firm’s perfect score on the Corporate Equality Index, which the group <a href="https://www.hrc.org/resources/corporate-equality-index" target="_blank" rel="noopener">describes</a> as the “national benchmarking tool on corporate policies, practices and benefits pertinent to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer employees.”
HRC officials said the conglomerate missed a “key moment” to support Mulvaney as the company sought to mend relations with conservatives. Anheuser-Busch CEO Brendan Whitworth had issued a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/anheuser-busch-ceo-breaks-long-silence-amid-dylan-mulvaney-pr-crisis" target="_blank" rel="noopener">statement</a> about the partnership, although the communication fell short of mentioning the nod to Mulvaney or transgenderism. “We never intended to be part of a discussion that divides people,” the executive said. “We are in the business of bringing people together over a beer.”

Stock market value for retail behemoth Target declined precipitously in recent days after the firm <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/target-slammed-after-offering-female-swimsuits-that-have-extra-crotch-coverage-are-tuck-friendly" target="_blank" rel="noopener">marketed</a> a female swimsuit as “tuck-friendly” and with “extra crotch coverage,” as well as <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/target-faces-backlash-over-pride-collection-designer-behind-satan-respects-pronouns-shirts" target="_blank" rel="noopener">hired</a> an artist who previously created Satanic items to make various designs for the company.
One recent <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/target-had-a-special-push-to-hire-lgbtq-designers-for-pride-collection-ahead-of-backlash" target="_blank" rel="noopener">analysis</a> from The Daily Wire found that Target had published a sustainability report which called for supplier diversity among firms creating Pride Month apparel, as well as diversity initiatives for women and racial minorities. GLSEN helps <a href="http://dailywire.com/topic/education" target="_blank" rel="noopener">teachers</a> place <a href="http://dailywire.com/topic/lgbtq" target="_blank" rel="noopener">LGBTQ</a> books in school libraries and hide their students’ so-called gender <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/transgender" target="_blank" rel="noopener">transitions</a> from parents. GLSEN has <a href="https://bookshop.org/shop/RainbowLibrary" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sent</a> more than 46,000 books with LGBTQ themes to several thousand schools across the nation
Target <a href="https://corporate.target.com/article/2022/06/pride" target="_blank" rel="noopener">boasted</a> last year about donating more than $2.1 million to GLSEN over the past decade, praising its mission to create “affirming, accessible, and antiracist spaces for LGBTQIA+ students.” Target <a href="https://www.target.com/c/pride/-/N-5589f" target="_blank" rel="noopener">promotes</a> GLSEN on its online store.
“We are grateful to Target for their funding of this retrospective and for their support of GLSEN’s work in student leadership and educator trainings,” former GLSEN executive director Eliza Byard said in a <a href="https://www.glsen.org/news/glsen-and-target-team-25th-anniversary-documentary" target="_blank" rel="noopener">statement</a> several years ago about a documentary the two entities produced. “Together, we have been able to change school climates for LGBT youth.”
GLSEN has <a href="https://bookshop.org/shop/RainbowLibrary" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sent</a> more than 46,000 books with LGBTQ themes to several thousand schools across the nation, including “posters and supplemental resources” for educators.
 “Staff or educators shall not disclose any information that may reveal a student’s gender identity to others, including parents or guardians and other staff, unless the student has authorized such disclosure, the information is contained in school records requested by a parent or guardian, or there is another compelling need,” one model local education agency policy posted on the GLSEN <a href="https://www.glsen.org/activity/model-local-education-agency-policy-on-transgender-nonbinary-students" target="_blank" rel="noopener">website</a> said.
GLSEN promotes the LGBTQ movement in every facet of a school’s curriculum. “As teachers teach about data collection and relevance, they should include whether it is beneficial to include gender or biological sex, being sure to reinforce the difference between those two terms,” one <a href="https://www.glsen.org/blog/how-do-we-make-math-class-more-inclusive-trans-and-non-binary-identities" target="_blank" rel="noopener">article</a> from the organization contended. “When students are creating their own surveys, if they want to include data for biological sex, teachers need to be sure they include both intersex and other as choices, and if the students want to include data for gender, a variety of choices need to be included.”
