Actor and former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger (R-CA) quickly terminated CNN anchor Jake Tapper&#8217;s argument that the Republican Party was largely responsible for gerrymandered congressional maps all across the United States.
Schwarzenegger, who served as California&#8217;s governor from 2003-2011, joined Tapper on Sunday&#8217;s broadcast of &#8220;State of the Union&#8221; and argued that &#8220;extreme gerrymandering&#8221; had been happening for decades and would only end up hurting the American people.

&#8220;In New Mexico, 45% of the people voted for Trump and vote Republican, and zero is sent to the House, zero representatives from the Republican Party,&#8221; the &#8220;Terminator&#8221; actor continued. &#8220;So there&#8217;s gerrymandering — crazy gerrymandering — going on all over the country, and we wanted to try to stop it in California, and we did stop it in California.&#8221;
This is not the first time Schwarzenegger has vocally opposed gerrymandering — regardless of which party was redrawing the maps. In 2019, he joined with Governor Larry Hogan (R-MD) <a href="https://schwarzenegger.usc.edu/institute_in_action/governor-arnold-schwarzenegger-took-his-mission-to-terminate-gerrymandering-to-dc/">in opposition</a> to a New Democrat-favored map in Maryland and a Republican-favored map in North Carolina.
&#8220;It is a national scandal with what is going on with the gerrymandering and the way our politicians draw the district lines. Both parties are doing it. Democrats are gerrymandering, Republicans are gerrymandering. It is a real disservice to the people. It is not a representative government, but a mis-representative government,&#8221; he said at the time.

Actor and former governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger slammed the violent mobs rioting across the U.S. during his Thursday appearance on “The View,” criticizing illegal aliens for not acting as “guests.”
Joy Behar, one of the hosts of “The View,” attempted to bait the “Terminator” star by asking him if he had a “visceral reaction” to the ICE raids happening throughout the country, as he is an immigrant himself.

“I am so proud and happy that I was embraced by the American people,” Schwarzenegger replied.
“Every single thing — if it’s my bodybuilding career, if it’s my acting career, becoming governor, the beautiful family that I’ve created — all of this is because of America. And so this is why I’m so, so happy [to] see first hand that this is the greatest country in the world and it is the land of opportunity.”
Schwarzenegger then announced that he will deliver a speech at Mount Vernon to celebrate the 250th birthday of America, where some immigrants will be sworn in as U.S. citizens, and that he is excited to celebrate the benefits of immigration.
“The key thing also is, at the same time, that you’ve got to do things [legally],” he clarified. “That is the important thing. Those people that are doing illegal things in America — and they’re the foreigners — they are not smart.”
As he spoke, multiple hosts attempted to interrupt him, with Sunny Hostin even placing her hand on Schwarzenegger’s arm as though she wanted him to stop speaking.
“When you come to America, you’re a guest and you have to behave like a guest,” Schwarzenegger stated. “Like, when I go to someone’s house and I’m a guest, I will do everything I can to keep things clean and to make my bed and to do everything that is the right thing to do rather than committing a crime or being abusive or something like that.”
Schwarzenegger has criticized the Trump administration and previously endorsed Kamala Harris’ presidential run, remaining one of the few Republicans to oppose Donald Trump. However, his rhetoric on “The View” conflicts with mainstream leftist views on the immigration crisis.
“The important thing is, when you become an immigrant, to think about — okay, I go to America because I want to use America for the great opportunities that America has in education, in jobs, [and in] creating a family. … Then you have to think about — okay, if I get all of those things from America, then I have to give something back. You have a responsibility as an immigrant to give back to America and to pay back America and to go and do something for your community for no money whatsoever. … Make this country a better place.” 
The hosts attempted to interrupt, but could not be heard after the audience erupted into applause.

Former California GOP Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is weighing in on the ICE raids being conducted in his home state, placing blame on both Republicans and Democrats for failing to prioritize effective immigration reform.
Variety reporters spoke to the actor as he walked the red carpet for the premiere of his Netflix series, “Fubar.” When asked his opinion about President Donald Trump deploying the National Guard and Marines to protect federal buildings and federal workers amid violent protests, Schwarzenegger pivoted and answered a different question instead.
“Well, I’m not so much interested in that as I am that the politicians have the responsibility to create immigration reform so we don’t have to have this crap going on in the first place,” he <a href="https://variety.com/2025/scene/news/arnold-schwarzenegger-ice-raids-los-angeles-1236429720/">told</a> the reporter.
“This is the result of Democrats and Republicans not being able to come together in this immigration reform. And so that’s what needs to be done so that you don’t have to go and start arresting people in the first place, so we know who is in this country and who is working here, who has the temporary working permit, who has the permanent working permit,” Schwarzenegger continued. 
“We don’t even know who is in here,” Schwarzenegger continued. “For decades now, they have been avoiding the subject because it’s an advantage to both parties to not do it. So they’re all political hacks, party hacks, rather than public servants.”
Schwarzenegger, who is Republican but has more moderate views on many social issues, served as governor of California from 2003 until 2011.
Other celebrities have been outspoken in their criticism of the raids, using social media and awards stages to condemn President Trump’s decision to send in the troops. 
Influencer Kim Kardashian also railed against ICE agents doing their jobs.
“When we’re told that ICE exists to keep our country safe and remove violent criminals — great,” Kim Kardashian wrote in a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kim-kardashian-other-celebs-complain-about-los-angeles-ice-raids">statement</a> shared to her Instagram story. “But when we witness innocent, hardworking people being ripped from their families in inhumane ways, we have to speak up. We have to do what’s right.”
The SKIMS founder also discussed “how deeply immigrants are woven into the fabric&#8221; of Los Angeles. 
“There HAS to be a BETTER way,” she added.

Christopher Schwarzenegger, the son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, recently opened up about his significant weight loss after photos of him looking much slimmer started circulating online.
The 27-year-old credited part of his body transformation to remaining steadfast during the 40 days of Lent just before Easter this year.
&#8220;Weirdly enough, I gave up bread for Lent,&#8221; Schwarzenegger said during the Inaugural Beacher Vitality Happy &amp; Healthy Summit panel discussion with Shriver, Kelly Osbourne, and host Jeff Beacher. &#8220;I don&#8217;t know if anyone&#8217;s Catholic in here, but I gave up bread for Lent.&#8221;
&#8220;I was like, &#8216;Well, if I&#8217;m giving up bread, I might as well just take the opportunity and I&#8217;m a good Catholic boy, so I&#8217;m not going to break it,'&#8221; he added, per <a href="https://people.com/christopher-schwarzenegger-opens-up-about-his-weight-loss-transformation-11732759">People</a>. &#8220;And that was my one rule. I was like, &#8216;I&#8217;m not going to break Lent.&#8217; And so I lost 30 pounds just through that.&#8221;

&#8220;It was a big process,&#8221; he said during the panel discussion on Saturday. &#8220;I started in 2019 when I was living in Australia. I was on this big trip. I made it a big [deal] like, &#8216;Oh, I&#8217;m going to go out and do all this stuff, be in Australia,&#8217; and I just saw how much my weight was prohibiting me from doing the everyday activities.&#8221;
&#8220;I was like, &#8216;I want to go skydiving.&#8217; And my friends were like, &#8216;Yeah, no shot.&#8217; I was like, &#8216;Yeah, I can&#8217;t skydive,'&#8221; Schwarzenegger said.
He also discussed trying different methods to eat healthy as far back as high school. 
&#8220;I tried everything. I was doing meal delivery things in high school, and I remember feeling like a weirdo when I was bringing weird lunches to school,&#8221; he said.
&#8220;It&#8217;s not an overnight thing, but it took a lot of trial and error,&#8221; Schwarzenegger continued. &#8220;And even still to this day &#8230; when you&#8217;re saying, oh, before and after photos &#8230; I don&#8217;t feel like I&#8217;m an after yet. I don&#8217;t feel like I&#8217;m at the point.&#8221;
Christopher is the youngest child of Schwarzenegger and Shriver. His older brother, Patrick, is an actor who recently appeared on season 3 of “The White Lotus.” 
Patrick previously praised his brother’s healthy living efforts, writing in a now-deleted Instagram post in April, “Proud of you. New job. Crushing in the gym. Whole new person. Can’t wait to see what this year brings,” according to <a href="https://pagesix.com/2025/04/17/celebrity-news/arnold-schwarzeneggers-son-christopher-shows-off-his-massive-weight-loss-in-rare-sibling-photo/">Page Six</a>.
The family also includes Katherine Schwarzenegger, who is married to actor Chris Pratt. Of the three, Christopher has kept the lowest public profile. This panel discussion marks the first time he has publicly addressed his weight loss.

Maria Shriver opened up about the “devastating, life-altering blow” that was the end of her 25-year marriage to Hollywood star and former Republican California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.
In Shriver’s new book of poetry titled “I Am Maria: My Reflections and Poems on Heartbreak, Healing, and Finding your Way Home,” the former anchor of the “Today” show admitted the end of her marriage destroyed &#8220;what was left&#8221; of her following years of loss, after losing her mom Eunice Kennedy Shriver (in 2009) and her father Sargent Shriver (in 2011), <a href="https://people.com/maria-shriver-i-am-maria-exclusive-excerpt-11701230">People magazine</a> reported. 
“Then a year and a half later, all hell seemed to break loose,” Shriver wrote, in an excerpt obtained by the outlet. “My First Lady job came to an end. My father died. And then came another devastating, life-altering blow: my twenty-five-year-long marriage blew up. It broke my heart, it broke my spirit, it broke what was left of me.”
“Without my marriage, my parents, a job — the dam of my lifelong capital-D Denial just blew apart,” she added. “Now, much has been written about the end of my marriage, and frankly I don’t feel like I need or want to discuss it here, or anywhere.”

“I was consumed with grief and wracked with confusion, anger, fear, sadness, and anxiety,” Shriver continued. “I was unsure now of who I was, where I belonged. Honestly, it was brutal, and I was terrified.”
Shriver said she eventually, after trips to therapists, healers, psychics, and even to a cloistered convent, she started writing. 
She said through her poetry she “found a woman who was terrified of not being able to live up to her family’s legacy—scared of not being big enough, a good-enough daughter, sister, wife, mother, journalist. “
“I found a woman who had insisted on measuring herself by some impossible standard that guaranteed she’d come up short and feel bad about herself no matter what,” she added. “I found someone who had spent a lifetime avoiding grief. And I also learned that when that lifetime of dissociated grief and trauma is released, it rushes out like a tsunami.”
“I’ve made lots of mistakes. One of them was tying my self-worth to my achievements. Another big mistake was thinking that someone outside of me could guarantee my safety, my worth, and my peace,” Shriver continued, noting how she used to “believe that if you didn’t have a partner, you must be unworthy and unloveable. I’ve learned that nothing could be further from the truth.”
Shriver and Schwarzenegger tied the knot in 1986 and had four kids together. The movie star later admitted to his wife that he had had an affair with the housekeeper in 1996 resulting in the two having a son together, <a href="https://www.eonline.com/news/1415226/where-arnold-schwarzenegger-and-maria-shriver-stand-years-after-his-affair">E! News</a> noted. Shriver filed for divorce in July 2011, and their divorce was finally official in December 2021.

Former California Republican Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger took shots at former President Donald Trump on Wednesday while endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris for the presidency.
The Hollywood celebrity made the endorsement in a <a href="https://x.com/Schwarzenegger/status/1851627802027758005">statement</a> on social media where he claimed that &#8220;people want to hear from me because I am not just a celebrity, I am a former Republican Governor.&#8221;
He said that while he hates politics, especially in the current political environment, he felt obligated to speak out before the election.
&#8220;Let me be honest with you: I don’t like either party right now. My Republicans have forgotten the beauty of the free market, driven up deficits, and rejected election results,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Democrats aren’t any better at dealing with deficits, and I worry about their local policies hurting our cities with increased crime.&#8221;
Schwarzenegger made no mention of the numerous times over a period of decades that Democrats have denied the results of elections.

He lamented the growing national debt and the crisis at the southern border, two issues that have both been dramatically worsened under the Biden-Harris administration.
Schwarzenegger claimed that the only thing Trump accomplished was getting a tax cut passed and that it was only for &#8220;his donors and other rich people like me but helped no one else.&#8221;
Nearly 65% of Americans got a tax cut under Trump, according to <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2019/04/14/business/economy/income-tax-cut.html">The New York Times</a>.
He claimed that electing Trump would lead to &#8220;four more years of bulls*** with no results that makes us angrier and angrier, more divided, and more hateful.&#8221;
&#8220;We need to close the door on this chapter of American history, and I know that former President Trump won’t do that,&#8221; he added. &#8220;He will divide, he will insult, he will find new ways to be more un-American than he already has been, and we, the people, will get nothing but more anger.&#8221;
He did not make any argument for why voters should support Harris other than saying Trump, in his mind, was worse.

It’s OK to tear up during the Western’s final moments. Honest. Up until then, director George Stevens’ film showcases why masculinity matters.
Alan Ladd plays the title character, a retired gunslinger who decides to help ranchers at the mercy of a local thug. Shane wants to put killing behind him, but getting to know the Starrett clan changes those plans.
Decent people deserve someone who can protect them. Their survival comes first.
Shane memorably teaches young Joey Starrett (Brandon deWilde) how to use a gun and wrestles a massive tree trunk with the Starrett patriarch in another iconic scene. He even feels a romantic tug for Mrs. Starrett (Jean Arthur) but knows not to break up their nuclear family.
The final gunfight remains a thing of beauty all these years later, a testament to cool under fire.

The ultimate shark thriller doubles as a treatise on masculinity. The three male characters capture the shades of the modern man. Roy Scheider’s Sheriff Brody is a calm, cool and committed leader. He also knows when he’s out of his depth. He pushes past his fear of the water to stop a shark from snacking on more Amity beach dwellers.
Quint, memorably played by Robert Shaw, is the ultimate Alpha Male.
Richard Dreyfuss’s scholarly Matt Hooper looks like a “Revenge of the Nerds” castoff, but he proves his mettle when it counts. He’s also not afraid to show fear in the face of what seems like insurmountable odds. One of the film’s best lines? Hooper struggles to clean his diving mask seconds before he descends into the steel cage for an up close and personal look at the shark.
“I’ve got no spit,” he confesses, capturing both fear and resilience. He’s still going down to confront the shark. That’s what a man does.

Rocky Balboa could have lived down to everyone’s expectations. Sylvester Stallone’s character wasn’t bright, nor was he born with anything resembling a silver spoon in his mouth. He was a journeyman fighter granted a chance to make something of himself. That’s assuming he can last a few rounds with the great Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers).
Stay down, Rocky. No one expects you to win.
Rocky won’t quit. He screws up his courage, trains harder than he’s ever trained before and manages to woo a shy pet shop clerk named Adrian (Talia Shire) along the way.
“Ain’t gonna be no rematch,” Creed grunts late in the fight, knowing Rocky will never quit.
There’s a reason Stallone remains a star at 78. Fans love his aspirational characters, none more than the Italian Stallion. Rocky represents a puncher’s chance, the notion that anyone in America can corral their destiny with hard work, hustle and an indomitable spirit.

Sure, it’s a Christmas movie, but beneath the yuletide tinsel lies a tribute to a father and husband. Det. John McClane (Bruce Willis) gets the worst Christmas present possible – a gang of Eurotrash thieves overtakes Nakatomi Plaza on December 24.
McClane’s ex (Bonnie Bedelia) is among the hostages, and he’ll stop at nothing to save her. He’ll walk barefoot over broken glass and stare down one of Hollywood’s most memorable villains, Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman).
He’s got the heart of a champion, showcased in four increasingly diminished sequels. He also knows when it’s best to use a wisecrack to keep the enemy off balance.
Willis lacked the cartoonish physique of Stallone and Schwarzenegger, the ‘80s defining action stars. He made do with a wife-beater T-shirt and a never-say-die spirit.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/arnold-schwarzenegger-democrats-want-to-f-up-every-city-in-america" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Arnold Schwarzenegger</a> stopped by the Kelce brothers’ podcast and revealed that the one movie he regrets passing on during his long career in Hollywood is &#8220;The Rock.&#8221;
During the 76-year-old actor&#8217;s appearance on the &#8220;New Heights&#8221; <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_L3uUKyoWE">podcast,</a> that hit YouTube on Wednesday, retired NFL star <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/greatest-gift-jason-kelce-celebrates-being-a-father-in-retirement-announcement" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jason Kelce</a> asked the former Gov. of California if there was any movie he passed on that he wished he had taken. &#8220;There was a movie called &#8216;The Rock&#8217; with Sean Connery,&#8221; Schwarzenegger replied, with the former Philadelphia Eagles star making it clear he knew it well. &#8220;So, they came to me with a script that was only 80 pages, instead of 120 which normally scripts are.&#8221;
&#8220;With a lot of handwritten scribbles in it,&#8221; he added. &#8220;And they tried to explain it to me, &#8216;Oh, this is what we are going to write.&#8217; So, I said, &#8216;Look guys why don&#8217;t you just come back when it&#8217;s finished?&#8217; I said, &#8216;This is half-baked. I&#8217;m not going to make a commitment.&#8221;&#8217;
The &#8220;True Lies&#8221; star said he also had 3 other movies lined up at the same time that he had to do in the &#8220;next year and a half&#8221; so he told them he was going to be keeping busy doing that.

The Hollywood star said they then left and it was Nicolas Cage who famously got the role in the movie alongside screen legend Connery.
&#8220;He [Cage] took it … and did a great job with it,&#8221; Schwarzenegger said. &#8220;And the movie was fantastic even though I was not in it. Nicolas Cage did a fantastic job. Sean Connery was great. The directing was great. The writing, everything was really a straight 10.&#8221;
&#8220;So, I really enjoyed the movie,&#8221; he added. &#8220;But that was one movie &#8230; I wish I would&#8217;ve taken.&#8221;
Schwarzenegger — who is known for famous roles in films like &#8220;Terminator,&#8221; &#8220;Predator,&#8221; &#8220;Commando,&#8221; &#8220;True Lies,&#8221; and &#8220;Twins&#8221;— gave his advice to the Chiefs star <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/travis-kelce-speculates-on-why-people-are-so-fascinated-by-his-relationship-with-taylor-swift" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Travis Kelce</a> and his brother Jason, who he speculated were both in Hollywood shooting the podcast because they had aspirations of having a career in the entertainment business. He said only take movie roles with &#8220;well-written scripts.&#8221;
&#8220;I’m not stupid, right? There&#8217;s a reason these guys are out here together in Hollywood,” he added, as the two brothers laughed. &#8220;There&#8217;s all kinds of interviews being scheduled for movie parts. You guys have it lined up, you just don&#8217;t want to give it away right now &#8230;&#8221;
&#8220;You&#8217;re really talented, and you speak well,&#8221; the actor continued. &#8220;And you&#8217;re full of energy and you ask interesting questions and you say funny things.&#8221;

A key part of the recently wrapped actor’s strike dealt with something on every person’s mind in 2024.
Artificial Intelligence, or AI for short.
The new Screen Actors Guild deal, which allowed stars to get back on stage again after a 118-day pause, offered protections against the rise of AI. <a href="https://ew.com/tv/actors-strike-over-whats-in-new-sag-aftra-contract/#:~:text=The%20strike%20officially%20ended%20early,in%20the%20next%20few%20weeks." target="_blank" rel="noopener">Studios can’t use the likeness</a> of an SAG actor without their consent. That holds for stars like Brad Pitt down to background performers.
That mattered. And that might not be enough to stop its use in stories large and small.
The “small” part might be the most nettlesome to Hollywood, Inc.
We’re already seeing examples of smaller projects dipping their toes in AI. Yes, they’re drawing fire for their actions, but it likely won’t stop others from doing the same.
The new horror film “Late Night with the Devil” offers a wry spin on the classic talk-show format. David Dastmalchian (“Ant-Man”) stars as a ‘70s-era host so eager for ratings that he invites a woman allegedly possessed by the devil on his show.
The low-budget film leaned on AI to create images seen in the final product. The backlash proved immediate, especially after <a href="https://screenrant.com/late-night-with-the-devil-movie-box-office-666-explained/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Late Night” overperformed at the box office.</a>
Directors Cameron and Colin Cairnes, who reportedly finished the film <a href="https://theweek.com/late-night-with-the-devil-ai-art-debate" target="_blank" rel="noopener">before the strike’s settlement</a>, shared a statement on their creative decision to Variety in response.
“In conjunction with our amazing graphics and production design team, all of whom worked tirelessly to give this film the 70s aesthetic we had always imagined, we experimented with AI for three still images which we edited further and ultimately appear as very brief interstitials in the film.”

Veteran performer Sara Poyzer of “Mamma Mia!” musical fame, shared a sour note on social media saying she was recently replaced by AI for a vocal performance. The note featured part of an email announcing who she lost a gig to:
“We have had the approval from the BBC to use the AI generated voice so we won’t need Sara anymore.”
The head of the BBC said the broadcasting giant will use AI <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/bbc-reform-truth-british-storytelling-ai-partnerships-tim-davie-1235856342/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“on our terms”</a> moving forward.
The fear is real in more ways than one.
Creators worry about professional blowback from any attempt to use AI on their projects. The industry understands just how helpful AI can be in certain areas, especially now given Hollywood is eager to cut costs thanks to a wobbly economy and streaming platform fiscal woes.
Indie filmmakers are eager to embrace any cost-cutting measures to get their stories made. When found-footage horror exploded following the release of 1999’s “The Blair Witch Project,” studios leaned aggressively on the gimmick to dramatically lower production costs.
That will likely happen, sooner or later, with AI.
That’s precisely what an artist working with Loor TV has in mind. The new streaming channel, which promises Christian storytelling with an edge, is behind a new show called “Fleur De Lis” by Ethan Hill. The show <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7176243991917522946/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">employs AI tech</a> to render both the animated show’s backgrounds and character voices.
“AI is an aid to this show, not the creator of the show. Five episodes in and the rough around the edges production and janky AI has become part of its charm. Much like construction paper and South Park &#8230;. Ethan is very cautious that AI carefully balanced as a tool, not the show runner,” Loor TV CEO Marcus Pittman shared on his LinkedIn account.
The cost? Pittman said about $200 per episode. He added the show’s creator hopes to move away from AI once the project gains financial flexibility.
YouTube creators also have less reason to avoid AI technology to make viral-friendly videos. Consider the many “deep fake” celebrity clips where computers seamlessly switch out a performer’s face for a more recognizable star.
This video of “Arnold Schwarzenegger” singing a tune from “The Sound of Music” dressed as a nun is a perfect example. It sounds remarkably like the ‘80s action superstar, and it looks as if the clip’s creator snatched him straight from the Reagan era and threw a nun’s habit on him. Watch:

The clip generated more than 16K views in just two days.
Many influencers and creators aren’t bound by SAG rules. They just want content and the clicks those videos bring. Technological barriers have been dropping long before the rise of AI, allowing indie creators to compete with established brands. Consider Sam the Cooking Guy’s YouTube flock (3.68M subscribers) trumps The Food Network’s audience (2.5M subscribers).
Adding AI tools to the mix will further dissolve the barriers between the two sides.
AI may be the greatest tool indie filmmakers, who squeeze every penny possible to complete their visions, ever imagined. That’s especially true for creators locked out of the mainstream.

Throw some AI magic into the mix, and suddenly a lo-fi documentary can compete with anything Michael Moore has to offer.
That might be the scariest thing of all for progressive Hollywood.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/arnold-schwarzenegger">Arnold Schwarzenegger</a> said he recently underwent <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/medical">surgery</a> to have a pacemaker implanted, then made a joke about it.
“Last Monday, I had surgery to become a little bit more of a machine: I got a pacemaker,” he said on a new episode of his “Arnold’s Pump Club” <a href="https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/132-arnolds-pacemaker/id1680075779?i=1000650347490">podcast</a>.
“First of all, I want you to know I’m doing great! I had my surgery on Monday, and by Friday, I was already at a big environmental event with my friend and fellow fitness crusader Jane Fonda,” Schwarzenegger continued. “Nobody would ever have thought I started the week with a surgery.”
“I want to thank my whole team at the Cleveland Clinic. All of the doctors and nurses took amazing care of me and made the surgery as painless as possible,” he added.
The A-list <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">actor</a> and former Republican governor of California had undergone three previous open heart surgeries. In 1997, Schwarzenegger had his pulmonic valve and aortic valve replaced, per <a href="https://people.com/arnold-schwarzenegger-76-underwent-surgery-for-a-pacemaker-8619970">People</a>. He had both of those new parts replaced with subsequent surgeries in 2018 and 2020. The scar tissue has caused him to have an irregular heartbeat, he said.
“I stayed in touch with my medical team and visited in person at least once a year to get a full check-up and see how my heart was doing,” the actor said. “That’s life with a genetic heart issue. But you won’t hear me complaining.”
Schwarzenegger said he’s especially concerned about keeping close communication with his medical team because his mother died in 1998 after not getting valve replacement surgery.

“I went in for my normal checkup at the beginning of March on my way to the Arnold Sports Festival, and they did a full series of tests,” the “Terminator” star revealed. “I told them I’d stop in Cleveland on my way home from the UK, and we’d do it. Monday, I went under and got my new machine part installed,” he said. “Like I said, by Friday, I was out doing my normal environmental work, and nobody knew anything.” 
The actor also discussed how, in Austrian culture, people don&#8217;t always talk about personal details such as medical challenges. He hopes his candid conversations will inspire podcast listeners to take action themselves. 
“I could have kept it a secret. But I know that we have more than 750,000 subscribers now — the village is a city now — and a lot of you are probably dealing with your own health challenges,” he said. “I want you to know you aren’t alone. And if you’re putting something off out of fear, I hope I inspire you to listen to your doctors and take care of yourself.”

Actors <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">Danny DeVito</a> and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/arnold-schwarzenegger">Arnold Schwarzenegger</a>, who starred together in the 1988 action comedy “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/movies">Twins</a>,” will be reuniting for a new project.
DeVito, 79, made the revelation while speaking with <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/twins-stars-danny-devito-arnold-schwarzenegger-reuniting-new-movie-script">Fox News Digital</a>. 
&#8220;He&#8217;s like my buddy. We have a good time together,&#8221; the “Matilda” actor said of Schwarzenegger. &#8220;You know, we&#8217;re trying to do another movie together. We&#8217;re in the middle of — there&#8217;s a script being written. We want to get back on the big screen together.&#8221;
The pair was last seen together presenting at the Academy Awards on Sunday. In addition to “Twins,” they worked together in the 1994 comedy “Junior.”
DeVito didn’t elaborate on the new project beyond confirming that it won’t be a “Twins” sequel. &#8220;Ivan, rest his soul; he&#8217;s no longer with us. Ivan Reitman, who did ‘Twins,’ who got us together on the screen for the first time,&#8221; DeVito said.
Reitman, who directed &#8220;Ghostbusters,&#8221; “Junior,” and &#8220;Kindergarten Cop,&#8221; died in 2022. 
DeVito said he became friends with Schwarzenegger, 76, before they worked together professionally. “Not at the gym, because I don&#8217;t go,&#8221; he joked. &#8220;But we&#8217;re looking forward to getting back up there on the screen. So, fingers crossed, next year we&#8217;ll be in production with something. We always have a good time together. He&#8217;s a sweet guy.&#8221;
“We smoke a stogie in the yard,” he told the outlet at another point of his friend and co-star. “You know, come on, and we have a good time. I love him.&#8221;

DeVito previously alluded to this unnamed project, mentioning that “Twins 2” never happened because Schwarzenegger entered politics and was elected governor of California in 2003.
&#8220;Arnold and I want to work together,” DeVito told <a href="https://www.gq.com/story/danny-devito-i-need-that-interview-2023">GQ</a> in an interview published in November 2023. “We missed Twins 2, because he became governor — which, he should have done ‘Twins 2’ instead of becoming governor,” he added. “Now we have a little thing going, a little project that we’ve been chatting about,” DeVito said.
The actor described the project, saying it was “just two friends, two guys, because we have a good time together. We complement each other in a lot of ways. I am way stronger than he is.”
