It&#8217;s not easy to find a lot of people who are willing to go back and revisit the early days of Barack Obama&#8217;s presidency. Conservatives don&#8217;t want to relive the whole nightmare, for obvious reasons. And for their part, Democrats would rather move on, too. They don&#8217;t particularly want to dwell on Obama&#8217;s &#8220;Russian reset,&#8221; for example, where he told us that Vladimir Putin wasn&#8217;t really a bad guy. That kind of thinking isn&#8217;t exactly compatible with Democrats&#8217; current narrative. Nor are Democrats interested in reminding anyone of Obama&#8217;s promise to lower healthcare costs, or his promise to close Guantanamo Bay, or his promise to stop the weather from changing, and so on. So if there&#8217;s bipartisan agreement on anything, it&#8217;s that Obama&#8217;s presidency isn&#8217;t worth talking about anymore.
But there is one moment from the early Obama years that&#8217;s suddenly become relevant again. I&#8217;m talking about the crash of a Colgan Air passenger plane, which was flying under the brand name of Continental Airlines. The crash occurred in February of 2009, just a month after Obama&#8217;s inauguration. It was the fourth in a string of crashes involving regional airliners from 2005 to 2009. 50 people died, including one person on the ground. An investigation revealed that the pilots — one man and one woman — were overworked and underpaid. They were also objectively bad pilots, at least on that particular night. They weren&#8217;t paying attention to their instruments, to the point that they stalled their plane while on approach for landing. And then, when the aircraft warned them of the stall, they panicked and turned a bad situation into a catastrophe.
In the wake of that crash, the Obama administration mandated a series of changes that, taken together, amount to a major overhaul of the entire aviation industry. One of the big changes was that all pilots — whether they flew for a regional carrier or a major airline — needed to have hundreds of hours of additional training before they could be certified. Pilots were also entitled to more rest breaks. There were several other new regulations, too. And for the most part, no one objected. It was a pretty uncontroversial move. After all, when planes are crashing all over the place, it makes sense to require better training and more rest for the pilots.
But all of these new regulations created a new problem. Airlines that were already struggling with a pilot shortage began having even more difficulty finding enough pilots to fly their routes. In an industry that was concerned with safety, the solution to this problem is obvious: you can either raise salaries to attract more pilots, or you can cut down on flights. But the aviation industry, with the encouragement of the Obama administration, decided on a different approach: They began appealing to so-called &#8220;diverse&#8221; applicants and adopted a much more lax, carefree workplace culture. Just like the FAA, which lowered standards to attract different demographics, airlines created programs to attract women and racial minorities. Then, after the COVID mandates decimated the aviation industry like so many others, these efforts went into overdrive.

The defenders of these diversity initiatives insisted that standards weren&#8217;t being compromised. They argued that the pool of applicants was being expanded, but that all pilots were still competent. They maintained that line of argument even after an Amazon cargo plane operated by Atlas Air crashed in 2019 while landing in Houston, when the pilot inexplicably steered the plane directly into the water. An investigation revealed that the pilot, a man from the Caribbean nation of Antigua named Conrad Aska, had repeatedly failed flight training, but was promoted anyway. His family even sued Amazon, alleging that Conrad Aska never should&#8217;ve been allowed into the cockpit, based on his sheer incompetence. But both Amazon and Atlas Air — which repeatedly preached about the importance of diversity — had no problem handing Conrad Aska the keys to a wide-body Boeing cargo plane.
The defenders of diversity initiatives also downplayed the crash of Southwest Airlines Flight 345, which suffered a landing-gear collapse while landing at La Guardia in 2013. The whole plane was totaled; it was a $15 million loss. Several people were seriously injured. This is a crash you probably haven&#8217;t heard much about, even though given recent events, it&#8217;s once again very relevant.

An investigation revealed that the captain of this flight was a woman who had multiple complaints filed against her by her co-pilots. In this instance, she allowed the plane to descend rapidly towards the ground without properly configuring the flaps for landing. And then, when she knew the plane was going too fast, she didn&#8217;t abort the landing. Instead, she ordered the first officer to &#8220;get down,&#8221; and then she aggressively took control of the plane herself and flew it, nose-first, into the runway.
So how was a pilot this incompetent allowed to serve as a captain ferrying passengers around on a jetliner? A few weeks ago, I received a tip from a pilot at Southwest who told me that this particular captain was notorious for inappropriate and dangerous behavior in the cockpit. A lot of pilots didn&#8217;t want to fly with her. The captain, for her part, thought the complaints were really about her gender or her sexuality, instead of her competence. And apparently, Southwest agreed.
This was not a widely reported episode, for the simple reason that it&#8217;s extremely inconvenient to proponents of so-called &#8220;diversity&#8221; in aviation. We&#8217;re required to believe that diversity improves the functioning of every organization, whether it&#8217;s Harvard University or Southwest Airlines. So most media outlets buried the story. They kept the identity of the woman pilot confidential, even after Southwest finally terminated her employment following the crash. Very few news reports mentioned her gender at all, or any other identifying information about her. They did the same thing with Conrad Aska and many other pilots. They just didn&#8217;t talk about them.
For a while, this strategy worked. Diversity initiatives continued for many years without any interruption, across all major airlines. But the problem, of course, is that you can&#8217;t downplay airline crashes forever. Eventually the crashes become more noticeable. Eventually people start dying, and not just in cargo planes. And at that point — which is the point we&#8217;ve now reached — the toll of diversity becomes harder and harder to deny. And then people will do the rational thing. They&#8217;ll start looking more closely at what exactly is going on in the aviation industry. And in particular, they&#8217;ll start looking at who exactly is flying the aircraft that keep crashing.
First, of course, there was the disastrous mid-air collision that was apparently caused, at least in part, by a female Black Hawk pilot near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. This pilot was clearly flying too high, for reasons that aren&#8217;t clear. She also failed to see a jet that was directly in her path. Based on the most recent <a href="https://www.ntsb.gov/investigations/Documents/Feb.14.2025_Briefing_Mid-air_Collision%20near%20DCA.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">information</a> we have from the NTSB, it&#8217;s clear that, about three minutes before the collision, the Black Hawk pilot was warned by her instructor that she was flying 100 feet too high for the area they were flying in. She was also warned about the passenger jet by air traffic control, which also provided the passenger jet&#8217;s location, well over a minute before impact. But she never took any evasive action whatsoever. The pilots of the American Airlines plane put their plane into a maximum nose-up climb just one second before impact, so clearly they eventually saw something. But the woman flying the Black Hawk never did.
Then, earlier this week, we all witnessed the Endeavor Air crash at Toronto&#8217;s airport.

The plane clearly came in too quickly, just like the Southwest Airlines jet that I mentioned earlier. And then the landing gear collapsed and the plane flipped over. Based on air traffic control audio, it appears that one pilot — the one who was presumably handling the radios, instead of flying the plane — was a male. But we still don&#8217;t have the identity of the pilot who was actually flying the plane. Reports from various sources online, citing tips from airline pilots and firefighters at Toronto&#8217;s airport, suggest that the pilot who was flying was a woman. But we don&#8217;t know for sure because no one in the government, or at Delta Airlines, will tell us.
If it&#8217;s true, that wouldn&#8217;t exactly be a surprise. Endeavor Air and Delta have gone out of their way in recent years to advertise how many female pilots they have. They&#8217;ve also done a full-court press to attract more female applicants. In fact, as you may have seen, Endeavor&#8217;s official TikTok and X accounts are obsessed with the idea of so-called &#8220;unmanned flights,&#8221; where no men are in the crew. So they&#8217;re not just pro-women; they&#8217;re actively anti-men. And if I&#8217;m being honest, whoever&#8217;s putting together Endeavor&#8217;s social media posts seems to have a sense of humor about the situation. Here for example is one recent tweet from Endeavor:

On the surface, I guess this is supposed to be an empowering, girlboss message. If that&#8217;s the case, then why does it begin with the warning, &#8220;Buckle up&#8221;? It&#8217;s like going to a restaurant where they tell you, &#8220;Enjoy your food presented by an all-female kitchen. Hope you brought a bucket!” It&#8217;s almost like whoever&#8217;s writing this post knows something we don&#8217;t. 
And then there&#8217;s this now-infamous TikTok footage from Endeavor Air, featuring a few more girlbosses. Some of these clips are so on-the-nose that it seems like they were prepared by a male intern somewhere who&#8217;s tired of all the DEI initiatives, and he was trying to find some desperate way to communicate that message without losing his internship in the process. Yes, the lyrics there are, &#8220;Live fast, die young, bad girls do it well.&#8221; That&#8217;s what you hear after you read the caption, &#8220;Leave the flying to the men? I don&#8217;t think so.&#8221; Again, this is the official messaging of an airline that&#8217;s supposedly committed to safety and competence. They want you to know that you&#8217;ll have an all-female flight crew that loves to &#8220;live fast and die young.” That is just about the worst possible mantra for an airline pilot.
When I looked at the rest of Endeavor&#8217;s TikTok account, I found that these clips are not rare exceptions to the norm. Quite the opposite. Pretty much every single post involves women dancing or miming the words to a song of some kind. It&#8217;s like a sorority&#8217;s TikTok channel, instead of the official social media account of a company that&#8217;s responsible for ferrying thousands of passengers across the sky at high speeds in aluminum tubes every single day.

It&#8217;s like they&#8217;re running an adult daycare. They&#8217;re not even pretending to convey the idea that they&#8217;re serious people who should be entrusted with your life.
The description for Endeavor Air&#8217;s account on TikTok reads, &#8220;CR-slay everyday&#8221; — which I assume is a reference to the CRJ aircraft that they fly. This is how you would present your company if you wanted to attract the ditziest, least responsible and least intelligent applicants imaginable. And based on recent events, it seems like that&#8217;s exactly what Endeavor got.
But as easy as it would be to blame this on Endeavor, which is a relatively small subsidiary of Delta, the truth is that this is a much deeper problem. It goes to the top. And to illustrate that, here&#8217;s footage from the pinned tweet of Delta Airlines&#8217; main account at the time of the Endeavor Air crash. Watch:

So this whole &#8220;slay&#8221; concept is apparently a big deal at both Endeavor and Delta. They think it&#8217;s a really important message to communicate. They&#8217;re girlbosses who &#8220;slay.&#8221; Of course, &#8220;slay&#8221; means &#8220;to kill.&#8221; And that&#8217;s what you can expect to happen now when you board these planes, evidently. They&#8217;ll slay you. With their flying skills.
As painful as this footage is, I will give Delta some credit. Yesterday, in an interview with CBS, Delta&#8217;s CEO was given an opportunity to blame Donald Trump for the crash in Toronto. Yes, the corporate press is going with the narrative that Donald Trump is responsible for a pilot&#8217;s terrible crash landing in a foreign country. And in response to this setup, the Delta CEO immediately shot the question down, which led to a pretty entertaining facial expression from the CBS anchor. Watch:

Notice there&#8217;s no question from CBS about the identity of the pilot, or her qualifications, or whether Endeavor regrets posting nonstop music video TikToks for the past five years. Instead the question is about how Donald Trump is to blame. This has been the approach of so many establishment interests ever since the aviation industry began experiencing a series of crashes more than a decade ago. They deflect and they minimize responsibility, all while insisting that the underlying system is working fine.
But with every major airline disaster, these deflections become less and less effective. The more they hide information about who&#8217;s flying these planes, the more people will come to realize what&#8217;s actually going on. And at a certain point — a point that&#8217;s rapidly approaching — no one will fly on a plane unless they know who&#8217;s flying it. People will demand thorough reviews of pilots, like they demand reviews of restaurants before making a reservation. That won&#8217;t be a sustainable model for most airlines. But for people who want to fly with some peace of mind — free from the complete and total incompetence that Obama-era diversity initiatives have wrought, so many years later— it&#8217;ll be the only option worth considering.

A former Alaska Airlines <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/airlines">flight attendant</a> has started a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/gofundme">GoFundMe</a> following the termination of her employment.
Nelle Diala said she was “wrongfully fired” from her “dream job” after making a video of herself twerking in the aisles of an empty plane and uploading it to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/tiktok">TikTok</a>. The flight attendant said she was let go for violating the airlines’ social media policy.
Diala defended her actions, saying she didn’t post which airline she worked for and that the clip was “harmless.”
“I never thought a single moment would cost me everything,” the former Alaska Airlines employees wrote in the GoFundMe <a href="https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-for-a-wrongfully-fired-flight-attendant">description</a>.
“I worked as a flight attendant for Alaska Airlines for over six months. In between those 6 months both of my English bulldogs died unexpectedly, my relationship was rocky because of the time I spent away, but I loved my job—meeting new people, seeing the world, and creating a safe, welcoming environment for passengers. It wasn’t always easy, but I was proud of what I did,” she said.
She continued, “One day, during a layover, I posted a lighthearted video on my personal social media account. It was a harmless clip that was recorded at 6 am while waiting 2 hours for pilots. I was also celebrating the end of probation and making it out of a hard upbringing in San Francisco, CA.”

“The video went viral overnight, but instead of love and support, it brought unexpected scrutiny,” Diala wrote. “Although it was a poor decision on my behalf I didn’t think it would cost me my dream job.”
“My employer accused me of violating their social media policy. I explained that the video wasn’t intended to harm anyone or the company, but they didn’t want to listen. Without warning, they terminated me. No discussion, no chance to defend myself—and no chance for a thorough and proper investigation,” she went on.
“Losing my job was devastating. I’ve always been careful about what I share online, and I never thought this video, which didn’t even mention the airline by name, would cost me my career. Now, I am trying to figure out how to move forward.”
Diala went on that she “learned” from her mistakes and encouraged people to donate to her campaign. As of Thursday afternoon, she had raised $1,700 of her $12,000 goal.

Put yourself in the shoes of a senior official in the Biden-Harris administration. Say you&#8217;re running the DOJ. Right now you know that, in just a matter of months, you could be out of a job. In fact, that seems pretty likely at this point. If there&#8217;s any important cases you want to pursue, or policies you want to defend, now&#8217;s the time to do it. This is your opportunity to cement your legacy, at least until the next administration fires you and completely dismantles it.
Given that setup, what would you make a top priority? With so many things going wrong in this country, what are the battles you&#8217;d choose to fight, with the limited time you have left? We&#8217;re not quite in a &#8220;lame duck&#8221; period, technically speaking, but everyone in the administration is asking this question right now.
And as low as your expectations may be for the Biden-Harris administration, their answer to that question is pretty remarkable. In what could very well be their final days in power, senior leaders in the federal government are going to federal court to defend DEI policies. And I&#8217;m not talking about just any garden-variety DEI policies here. As we speak, the Justice Department is going to <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/10/24/business/boeing-deal-dei-justice-department/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">court</a> to demand that DEI is used in the selection process to appoint an independent monitor to oversee Boeing, the aircraft manufacturer. The job of this independent monitor is to make sure that Boeing stops making planes that fall apart in the sky, or fall out of the sky completely.
In other words, the Biden-Harris DOJ is fighting to ensure that the second-largest commercial jet manufacturer in the world is supervised by a DEI hire. What could possibly go wrong?
If you&#8217;ve been following Boeing lately, you know that a lot can go wrong. There&#8217;s a decent documentary on Netflix called &#8220;Downfall: The Case Against Boeing&#8221; that outlines a lot of the background. But here&#8217;s the gist. As you probably remember, there were two fatal crashes involving Boeing 737 MAX aircraft in 2018 and 2019. A total of 346 people were killed in just a few months.

Investigation revealed that the crashes were linked to Boeing&#8217;s decision to accelerate production of the 737 MAX to compete with their rival, Airbus. The design of Boeing&#8217;s new 737 MAX was a lot like the older Boeing jets, with one key exception: the engines were larger and they were positioned further forward on the plane. While this helped with efficiency, it came with a side effect, which is that the plane had a tendency to pitch upwards during flight.
To counteract that tendency, Boeing designed a new software program that they installed on their new 737 MAX aircraft. The idea was that the software would automatically lower the nose to a level position, if the plane started creeping upwards. It was supposed to be a subtle fix that the pilots wouldn&#8217;t really notice. The problem is that the software was completely dependent on one sensor on the plane, called the &#8220;angle of attack&#8221; sensor. And if that sensor failed for whatever reason, or provided inaccurate data, the plane would inaccurately believe that it was climbing too quickly. And the software, in response, would make the plane plunge towards the Earth. And that&#8217;s exactly what happened, in both cases. Here&#8217;s coverage of one of the crashes:

What&#8217;s incredible about this crash — the Ethiopian airlines one — is that it happened after the Lion Air crash several months earlier. And after the Lion Air crash, Boeing sent out advisories to a bunch of airlines, warning them about their software. They said that, if they encounter a similar issue, pilots should just turn off the electrical system of that part of the aircraft, to disable their software entirely.
The problem is that, when the Ethiopian pilots did that, they encountered a bunch of other unexpected issues that they weren&#8217;t really trained on. They were panicking, and during the chaos, they left the throttle on maximum, which made it impossible to control the plane without the help of the electrical system. And when they tried to regain some control, they turned the electrical system back on, at which point the plane promptly crashed itself.
Obviously, there are a lot of failures that occurred in this whole situation. The regulators at the FAA delegated a lot of their responsibilities to Boeing, which meant that Boeing was in charge of certifying the safety of its own software. Additionally, Boeing knowingly made false representations about its software during the certification process.
That&#8217;s not in dispute. Boeing admits this. This summer, Boeing agreed to plead guilty to &#8220;conspiring to defraud&#8221; the government concerning the 737 MAX&#8217;s software. Then Boeing and the DOJ filed a plea agreement in court so that a judge could review it. The plea agreement essentially makes Boeing — as a company — a convicted felon.
But to his credit, the judge, whose name is Reed O&#8217;Connor, isn&#8217;t signing off on the plea deal — at least not yet. This is a bit like the situation with Hunter Biden this summer. Just because both parties agree to a plea deal, that doesn&#8217;t mean the judge has to accept it. And in this case, there&#8217;s a very important reason why the judge won&#8217;t accept it.
From the <a href="https://fingfx.thomsonreuters.com/gfx/legaldocs/egvbjydgbvq/10222024boeing.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">judge&#8217;s order</a> this month: &#8220;The Agreement mandates an independent compliance monitor to assess whether Boeing has adequately mitigated the risk of providing false or fraudulent information to the Federal Aviation Administration and other government regulators. &#8230; Like many of the Agreement’s other provisions, the victims strongly oppose the Agreement’s compliance monitor requirements. Among other reasons, the victims argue the Court should reject the Agreement because it allows the Government, not the Court, to select a monitor with input from Boeing and &#8216;in keeping with the Department’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.'&#8221;
In other words, both the judge and the victims&#8217; families have an issue with this provision. And you can see why. When both the regulator and the airline manufacturer mess up, causing the deaths of hundreds of people, then you&#8217;d think you&#8217;d want to bring in the most competent people you can find, in order to make sure that it never happens again. But that&#8217;s not what&#8217;s happening here.
When the judge asked the government&#8217;s attorney, Sean Tonolli, to explain what exactly this &#8220;diversity, equity and inclusion&#8221; policy would entail, Tonolli responded that he&#8217;s not an expert in the topic. But he eventually got around to saying &#8220;diversity&#8221; refers to &#8220;race, gender, background and any number of factors, including background and experience.&#8221; Tonolli added that &#8220;inclusion&#8221; is, &#8220;another way of maybe saying the same thing and not excluding people because of any characteristic that would be included in diversity.&#8221; Then he tapped out. He said he couldn&#8217;t provide any more information than that. But he did insist that the government wouldn&#8217;t pick someone who was unqualified.
That led the judge to ask, “Did the department used to exclude certain people on race, gender, and other things?” And in response to that question, Tonolli responded: “Not to my knowledge.”
That was an alarming answer, to say the least. Especially when you&#8217;re talking about making sure that more planes don&#8217;t fall out of the sky, the answer should be an unequivocal &#8220;No, we definitely wouldn&#8217;t exclude anyone based on race or gender.&#8221; It&#8217;s wrong to discriminate on the basis of race or gender in any context. But it&#8217;s completely insane to do it when you&#8217;re talking about regulating Boeing, which if you haven&#8217;t noticed, is having a lot of problems right now — both on this planet and in space.
So the judge asked Boeing for their input. But they just deferred to the government&#8217;s answer. Then the judge pulled up Boeing&#8217;s website, where he found that the company has a &#8220;set of aspirations&#8221; that it plans to achieve by next year. Those aspirations, which are based on DEI, include explicit quotas on the basis of race, including Boeing&#8217;s efforts to, “[i]ncrease the Black representation rate in the U.S. by 20%” and “[c]lose representation gaps for historically underrepresented groups.&#8221; The judge also found that Boeing pays its executives bonuses depending on how many of their DEI goals they&#8217;ve achieved.
At the moment, we don&#8217;t know exactly how this legal battle will play out. The judge has said he wants a full hearing on this, before he signs off on any plea agreement. He wants to make sure that the Biden-Harris administration is going to select someone who can do the job, before any more people die in Boeing airplanes. And based on the statements of Boeing and the Biden-Harris administration so far, the judge doesn&#8217;t have those assurances.
If you look at any of the corporate media coverage of this story, you&#8217;ll find a lot of snark directed at the judge. Reuters, for example, <a href="https://www.reuters.com/legal/how-us-judge-injected-culture-wars-into-boeing-737-max-plea-deal-2024-10-24/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ran this headline</a>: &#8220;How a US judge injected culture wars into Boeing 737 MAX plea deal.&#8221; They interviewed a lawyer who criticized the judge, saying he was acting &#8220;incredibly unusual.&#8221; CNN meanwhile accused the judge of engaging in a &#8220;politically tinged&#8221; courtroom battle.
This is the same tactic we see in the trans debate, and in so many other areas. Left-wing activists implement some new, insane policy. And when you push back against it in any way, or even ask questions about it, you&#8217;re accused of injecting a &#8220;culture war&#8221; in a way that&#8217;s somehow inappropriate. It&#8217;s apparently not injecting a&#8221;culture war&#8221; when Boeing and the federal government both decide to start hiring people on the basis of their skin color. But it&#8217;s definitely a &#8220;culture war&#8221; when a judge asks if we&#8217;re hiring the most qualified people to make sure that more planes don&#8217;t crash themselves into the ocean.
The reason these outlets are lashing out like this is that they recognize this judge&#8217;s ruling is significant. They realize they&#8217;re indeed losing the culture war that they started. This is the first time, that I&#8217;m aware of, that a federal judge has explicitly called out DEI in the context of an ongoing case. He&#8217;s demanded to know what exactly it entails. And in response, the government and Boeing — which both practice DEI — couldn&#8217;t even answer the question. It&#8217;s yet another sign that the tide is turning sharply against the whole concept of diversity, equity and inclusion, particularly when lives are at stake.

Australian <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/airlines">airline</a> Qantas has issued an apology following an incident it had on a flight from <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/australia">Sydney</a> to Tokyo when all of the screens started playing a sexually explicit R-rated <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/movies">movie</a> with no option to turn it off.
“Our crew members had a limited list of movies that they were able to play across all screens on the aircraft and based on the request from a number of passengers, a particular movie was selected for the entire flight,” the statement shared with <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/10/07/travel/qantas-r-rated-movie-inflight-daddio-intl-hnk/index.html">CNN</a> on Tuesday said.
“The movie was clearly not suitable to play for the whole flight and we sincerely apologize to customers for this experience,” a Qantas spokesperson told the outlet.
“All screens were changed to a family friendly movie for the rest of the flight, which is our standard practice for the rare cases where individual movie selection isn’t possible. We are reviewing how the movie was selected.”
The official statement did not reveal the name of the film in question, but that information was available from social media users who confirmed it was the 2023 drama “Daddio.”

The movie reportedly features &#8220;references to oral sex, masturbation&#8221; and a &#8220;brief but clear photo of erect penis on phone screen. Photos of a woman&#8217;s naked breasts. Explicit sex-related dialogue and texting,&#8221; according to a review cited by <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/qantas-apologizes-explicit-movie-daddio-every-screen-flight/">CBS News</a>.
&#8220;The movie they played was extremely inappropriate,&#8221; one passenger <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/QantasAirways/comments/1fwr31r/qantas_played_an_inappropriate_movie_to_the_whole/">posted</a> on Reddit. &#8220;It was impossible to pause, dim, or turn it off&#8230; It took almost an hour of this before they switched to a more kid-friendly movie, but it was super uncomfortable for everyone, especially with families and kids onboard.&#8221;
Qantas is the flag carrier of Australia and the only airline in the world that <a href="https://edition.cnn.com/travel/article/qantas-centennial-australia-intl-hnk/index.html">offers flights</a> to all seven continents. It was founded in 1920, making it the third oldest airline.

All flights from major <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/airlines">carriers,</a> including Delta, American, and United, were grounded Friday morning following a massive global <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/technology">technical</a> outage that affected several industries.
The issue reportedly follows an update made by <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/cybersecurity" target="_blank" rel="noopener">cybersecurity</a> firm CrowdStrike, one of the world&#8217;s largest software providers. The disruption caused computer systems using Microsoft Windows to see nothing but the “blue screen of death.” 
Prominent security consultant Troy Hunt <a href="https://x.com/spectatorindex/status/1814239723390705795?s=46&amp;t=kAaRXGG15beV8rj_bb6XVQ">said</a> of the disruption, “This will be the largest IT outage in history.” He also noted, &#8220;This is basically what we were all worried about with Y2K, except it’s actually happened this time.”
The outage had a global impact, with outages being reported in the UK, India, Germany, and the Netherlands in addition to the United States. 
&#8220;We acknowledge how impactful this is for our customers, and we&#8217;re working to still receiving obstructions as soon as possible,&#8221; Microsoft said in a statement Friday morning, per <a href="https://people.com/delta-united-american-airlines-flights-grounded-global-technology-outage-8680613">People</a>.
&#8220;The system was sent an update and that update had a software bug in it and caused an issue with the Microsoft operating system. And we identified this very quickly and remediated the issue. As systems come back online and they&#8217;re rebooted, they&#8217;re working,&#8221; founder and CEO of CrowdStrike George Kurtz said during a Today Show interview on Friday morning.
He added, &#8220;We&#8217;re deeply sorry for the impact that we&#8217;ve caused to customers, to travelers, and to anyone affected by this including our company. It is our mission to make sure that every customer is recovered. We&#8217;re not going to relent until we get every customer back to where they were.&#8221;
“This is not a security incident or cyberattack,” Kurtz clarified. “The issue has been identified, isolated, and a fix has been deployed.”
The outage could impact businesses ranging from airlines to banks, TV stations, healthcare organizations, hotels, and others, and they might lose millions in revenue due to the disruptions. Independent cybersecurity consultant Lukasz Olejnik told <a href="https://www.wired.com/story/microsoft-windows-outage-crowdstrike-global-it-probems/">Wired</a> this incident should serve as a warning.
“It reminds us about our dependence on IT and software,” Olejnik said. “When a system has several software systems maintained by various vendors, this is equivalent to placing trust on them. They may be a single point of failure—like here, when various firms feel the impact.”

The Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA), the largest airline pilot’s union in the world, published a diversity, equity and inclusion language guide to its members in 2021 instructing them to refrain from using words such as “cockpit,” “airmen,” and “manpower” in order to “reflect the diversity we have at ALPA” and to “create a more inclusive workplace.”
“While the word ‘cockpit’ dates back to the 1900s, it has been and may be used in a derogatory way to exclude women in the piloting profession,” the guide explained, according to <a href="https://www.breitbart.com/social-justice/2024/06/19/pilots-union-suggests-changing-cockpit-to-flight-deck-for-inclusivity/">Breitbart</a>. “Many women have heard a variation of ‘It is called a cockpit for a reason’ by a male pilot, suggesting that women do not belong in the piloting profession. The intent behind the use of the word is important. &#8230; While the word ‘cockpit’ dates back to the 1900s, it has been and may be used in a derogatory way to exclude women in the piloting profession. &#8230; Many women have heard a variation of ‘It is called a cockpit for a reason’ by a male pilot, suggesting that women do not belong in the piloting profession. The intent behind the use of the word is important.”
The APLA also dislikes using the terms “mother” and “father” because those “may inadvertently ignore different family structures,” such as “caregivers, same-sex parents, stepparents, families with adopted members, and more,” Breitbart noted.
The ALPA released a statement to <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/pilot-union-suggests-phasing-masculine-terms-says-cockpit-father-offensive-dei-culture">Fox News</a>, saying:

World’s Largest Airline Pilots’ Union Tells Members To Be More ‘Inclusive’: Stop Saying ‘Cockpit,’ ‘Manpower’

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/american-airlines" target="_blank" rel="noopener">American Airlines</a> is backing away from its court filing blaming a nine-year-old girl for not noticing the hidden camera a flight attendant allegedly planted in the aircraft&#8217;s bathroom.
A former American flight attendant is accused of taping his iPhone to the toilet seat and then luring young girls to use the airplane bathroom.
Attorneys for the airline initially blamed the child, saying in a court filing that any injuries the girl suffered were due to her “own fault and negligence, were proximately caused by [her] use of the compromised lavatory, which she knew or should have known contained a visible and illuminated recording device.”
On Thursday, however, the airline distanced itself from that accusation.
An American Airlines spokesperson <a href="https://apnews.com/article/american-airlines-blames-girl-hidden-camera-4b474bf3d8c8803872dbb7e12032d13e" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> that external attorneys working for the airline had “made an error in this filing.”
“Our outside legal counsel retained with our insurance company made an error in this filing. The included defense is not representative of our airline and we have directed it be amended this morning,&#8221; the spokesperson said. &#8220;We do not believe this child is at fault and we take the allegations involving a former team member very seriously. Our core mission is to care for people — and the foundation of that is the safety and security of our customers and team.”
The 9-year-old’s family sued American Airlines after the FBI informed them that videos of their daughter were found on the former flight attendant&#8217;s phone. The family had flown from Texas to California last year.
The fired flight attendant, Estes Carter Thompson III, 36, pled not guilty this week to charges of attempted sexual exploitation of children and possession of images of child sexual abuse.

Thomas is accused of having recordings of four girls, including the nine-year-old, using bathrooms on flights. He is also accused of trying to secretly record a video of a 14-year-old girl using the bathroom on a flight from Charlotte, North Carolina, to Boston.
He was arrested in January and has remained in federal custody since then.
The court filing was amended on Wednesday. The new filing does not include the accusation that the girl&#8217;s injuries were her own fault. The case is making its way through a state district court in Austin.
On Tuesday, an attorney representing the 9-year-old, as well as the 14-year-old, excoriated the airline&#8217;s defense.
“To blame a 9 year old for being filmed while using the airplane bathroom is both shocking and outrageous,” attorney Paul Llewellyn <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/4678026-american-airlines-says-filing-blaming-9-year-old-in-bathroom-recording-case-was-an-error/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>.
“In my opinion this is a depraved legal strategy that sinks to a new low. American Airlines should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves,” he added.
The 9-year-old’s mother <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/4678026-american-airlines-says-filing-blaming-9-year-old-in-bathroom-recording-case-was-an-error/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in a statement through her attorney, “How in good conscience could they even make such a suggestion?”
Thompson is due in federal court in Boston on July 1.

A tire fell off of a United Airlines flight in San Francisco on Thursday afternoon and damaged multiple cars in a nearby parking lot.
United Flight 35, which was supposed to be headed to Japan, landed safely in Los Angeles after the incident, according to a local NBC News affiliate. The Boeing 777-200 has six tires on its two sets of rear landing gear.
There were 249 people on board, including passengers, pilots, and flight attendants.

This is the second major incident from just this week that the airline has had to deal with.
A United Airlines flight that took off from Houston to Fort Myers on Monday was forced to turn around after one of its engines erupted in flames.
United Flight 1118 was in the air less than 15 minutes before it had to turn around, according to data from FlightAware.
&#8220;United flight 1118 returned to Houston shortly after takeoff due to an engine issue,&#8221; the airline said in a statement. &#8220;The flight landed safely, and the passengers deplaned normally. We arranged for a new aircraft to take our customers to their destination, which departed for Fort Myers later that evening.&#8221;

The airline only offered passengers a $15 meal voucher and a $200 travel credit for experiencing the traumatic ordeal.
&#8220;I remember there was just this bright, flashing light that came through the window, and it sounded like a bomb went off, and then it was just a strobe of fire out the window,&#8221; one passenger told ABC 13. &#8220;And then it just turned into chaos. People were screaming and crying and trying to figure out what was going on.&#8221;
Another passenger said that everyone thought that they were going to die and that he emailed his wife that he loved her and she should feel free to move on.

For the second time in a week, a plane from the Israeli flagship airline El Al was targeted by hostile elements trying to divert the aircraft from its planned course.
The newest incident involved a plane traveling across airspace on Saturday night where the Iran-backed Houthis reside; Somalian sources insisted to the Israeli broadcaster Kann that a group in Somaliland that issued false instructions to the flight crew was responsible. Suggestions were made that the effort was an attempt to steer the plane toward dangerous areas. But the plane’s staff used other communication methods to avert any trouble, <a href="https://www.i24news.tv/en/news/israel/defense/1708262276-hostile-attack-attempted-el-al-communication-network-takeover-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">cross-referencing data</a> with other air traffic controllers.
“In Somalia, there have been communication interruptions all week, not only for El Al planes, and the official authorities have issued instructions to all pilots that as soon as this happens with a certain frequency, not to listen to the instructions and to switch to another communication method,” an El Al source <a href="https://www.jpost.com/middle-east/article-787572" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stated</a>, adding, “Our pilots are instructed on how to deal with this incident, such as the problematic frequency, and how to handle the flight professionally when it happens.”
The first El Al plane targeted was flying to Bangkok, KAN Reshet B reported
El Al issued a statement after the latest incident, saying that the “disturbances are not aimed at El Al planes and that this is not a security incident. The disruption did not affect the normal course of the flight thanks to the professionalism of the pilots who used the alternative means of communication and allowed the flight to continue on the planned route.”
Avner Yarkoni, the former head of Israel’s Civil Aviation Authority, <a href="https://www.jpost.com/israel-news/article-787692" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> Maariv, “It was a communication interference by someone who was in contact with the plane. I don&#8217;t know exactly what was said and how,” but the false controller&#8217;s “manner of speaking apparently raised suspicion among the pilots.”

“It should be remembered that from the plane&#8217;s communication, it does not go anywhere,” he continued. “That is, the communication system guides the pilots, but if there is doubt – they don&#8217;t comply. &#8230; There are other systems where one can verify and check the communication readiness, some of them digital [ones] that are not based on verbal communication at all and are relied upon in international flights. &#8230; In addition, there is also a regional broadcast network that provides instructions, and the most important thing is that communication disruptions there are not new – not only toward El Al planes but towards all sorts of planes.”

The frequency of near-disasters in the sky has increased dramatically in recent years, and as I&#8217;ve noted, the increase began around the time that the Obama administration began a concerted effort to &#8220;diversify&#8221; the FAA, including air traffic control. According to a NASA database, which tracks self-reported data from pilots, we now <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/how-government-diversity-initiatives-are-leading-us-to-a-major-airline-disaster">average</a> roughly five near-misses per week — more than double the number from a decade ago. And that&#8217;s not even getting into the obvious maintenance issues that have been popping up — including doors and wheels that have been flying off planes lately.
Given how terrible all of this looks from the outside, I wanted to get a better idea of what&#8217;s happening internally at the FAA and major airlines in this country. We hear a lot about DEI in the abstract sense, but we rarely get a glimpse of what it looks like in practice. We don&#8217;t often hear firsthand testimonials from people affected by DEI because they&#8217;re worried about protecting their careers. They know if they speak out, they&#8217;ll face termination, and they&#8217;ll probably be blackballed from the industry forever. But with social media, some level of anonymity is possible. So to take a closer look at how far this DEI rot has spread, I <a href="https://x.com/MattWalshBlog/status/1744869138151924174?s=20" target="_blank" rel="noopener">tweeted</a>: &#8220;If you&#8217;re an airline pilot and have firsthand knowledge about the DEI agenda being forced into your profession, send me a DM and tell me about your experiences. Curious yet terrified to see how bad it is at this point.&#8221;
To say my inbox was completely flooded would be an understatement. I received too many DM&#8217;s to count from pilots and other professionals in the aviation industry. Virtually every single message told me the same thing: that the ideology of &#8220;diversity, equity, and inclusion&#8221; is the top priority in their workplaces. It goes without saying, but this is an industry where one mistake can kill hundreds or even thousands of people. This is not comparable to DEI departments in universities or corporate America, as destructive and as wasteful as those departments are. DEI in the aviation industry could lead to a catastrophic disaster. That&#8217;s why — even though it was a risk — several of these sources provided me identifying information to validate their identities, along with permission to post some of the internal documents and footage they&#8217;ve obtained. These people knew they might lose their jobs, but they decided that getting the word out was more important.

Yesterday, I posted some of these materials on my Twitter feed. They reveal that, at the very highest levels of the FAA, there&#8217;s an effort underway to reduce the number of white men who work in the aviation industry. In April of 2022, the FAA&#8217;s acting deputy chief operating officer — a woman named Angela McCullough — led a meeting with the FAA&#8217;s Flight Operations division. This division is responsible for all aspects of aviation operations, including overseeing airline maintenance. 
But McCullough did not spend the call talking about ways to make sure that airplane doors don&#8217;t fly off mid-flight. She didn&#8217;t say a word about the importance of keeping the wheels attached to jetliners as they&#8217;re taking off. Instead, McCullough talked extensively about DEI. As you&#8217;ll see, she was prompted to do so by a man named Wil Riggins, who&#8217;s the FAA&#8217;s Vice President of Flight Program Operations. 
If that name sounds familiar at all, it&#8217;s probably because Riggins is the same guy who <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/09/15/faa-dot-coordinated-to-hide-cost-of-buttigiegs-flights-report/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">conspired</a> to find ways to hide Pete Buttigieg&#8217;s spending on government aircraft. So this is a completely corrupt group of bureaucrats who have assembled here. Watch:

&#8220;We&#8217;re looking at a need across the agency to recruit and retain a diverse population of folks,&#8221; says Wil Riggins. In response, McCullough talks about the arms race of DEI that&#8217;s occurring in the industry. She mentions &#8220;partnerships with universities.&#8221; And then she says the FAA wants to look at something called &#8220;ramp to cockpit.&#8221;
Let&#8217;s think about this. When she&#8217;s talking about &#8220;partnerships with universities&#8221; in the name of diversifying aviation, McCullough is referring to relationships that airlines have established with historically black colleges and universities. For example, United Airlines has <a href="https://www.northcarolina.edu/news/elizabeth-city-state-university-united-airlines-launch-partnership/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">allied</a> with Elizabeth City State University. The airline describes this as, &#8220;a partnership that seeks to not only train future pilots, but also bring more women and people of color into the ranks of commercial aviation.&#8221;
In case it&#8217;s not obvious, Elizabeth City State University is not a hotbed of engineering or aviation talent. In fact it&#8217;s not a hotbed of any kind of skill whatsoever. The average SAT score at the school is 960 out of 1600, which is one of the lowest scores that you&#8217;ll find anywhere in the country. The only reason for partnerships like this is because of the racial makeup of Elizabeth City State University, which is overwhelmingly black. This is the kind of partnership that, based on this video, senior FAA officials want to see more of. 
They aren&#8217;t interested in seeing the best pilots in the cockpit. They&#8217;re interested in seeing more black pilots in the cockpit.
That also could explain why McCullough is promoting something called &#8220;ramp to cockpit&#8221; in that footage. When she says &#8220;ramp,&#8221; she&#8217;s referring to ramp agents, who are responsible for loading and unloading baggage on airplanes. Evidently, the FAA believes that these employees deserve some sort of specialized program to encourage them to become pilots. But nowhere in this footage does McCullough explain why this makes any sense whatsoever. It doesn&#8217;t follow in any way. The job of a baggage handler is completely different from the job of an airline pilot. There are precisely zero transferable skills or even interests. Just because you have a job working around a plane doesn’t mean you should be flying them. This is like having a “janitor to surgeon” pipeline at a hospital, or setting up a program so that the window washer cleaning the outside of the skyscraper can one day become an architect designing skyscrapers. These two lines of work have almost nothing to do with each other. So what’s the point of this?
A few seconds later, McCullough provides something of an answer. She tells the FAA&#8217;s senior leadership in Flight Operations that their whole division is &#8220;white-male dominated.&#8221; Then she says that should change. And Wil Riggins, rather than reacting with surprise to this suggestion, agrees with her. Watch:

There&#8217;s no pushback from anyone in that clip, as they listen to this. No one says, &#8220;wait a minute — why should baggage handlers become pilots? And what&#8217;s wrong with having a lot of white men in Flight Operations, exactly?&#8221; Instead, this woman gets complimented for her insights.
But of course, not everyone on the call was in agreement. They didn&#8217;t want to speak up because they&#8217;d be fired. But they knew this was going to happen. So one individual recorded the meeting. This source had seen several white men get passed over for jobs because of their skin color, and he or she heard these kinds of remarks all the time at the FAA. That&#8217;s why the source saved it, and it&#8217;s why we have it now.
As of this morning, neither the FAA nor the secretary of transportation, Mayor Pete, has responded to this footage. That&#8217;s because it reflects exactly what they believe. This is what they talk about behind closed doors. They want fewer white people flying planes and working in Flight Operations, including maintenance. They want more baggage handlers to become pilots. And they are not remotely concerned about professional standards or competence. That topic just doesn&#8217;t come up in their discussions.
This what DEI is all about, and it&#8217;s not limited to Pete Buttigieg&#8217;s agency. In response to my post, I received several other tips from sources outside of the FAA who say they&#8217;re seeing similar policies all across the aviation industry. Airlines are promoting DEI as well, even when it clearly endangers passengers. One source — a pilot at Delta Airlines — told me this: &#8220;We recently had a transgender pilot repeatedly receive negative reviews during his first-year probationary period from Captains he flew with regarding attitude, CRM, and judgment, yet the Chief Pilot’s Office (CPO) was unwilling to address the issue. Had this not been a transgender pilot, the individual would likely not have successfully completed their probationary period. Coincidentally, that CPO has a management pilot on staff who recently transitioned who is able to weigh in on these matters.&#8221;
This is what the airlines and the FAA will never admit publicly. They&#8217;ll never admit that they&#8217;re lowering standards, and endangering the public, in order to get more &#8220;diverse&#8221; pilots flying planes. But that&#8217;s exactly what&#8217;s happening. The source also sent along this internal Delta Airlines manual that&#8217;s designed to help Delta pilots &#8220;transition&#8221; into another gender. Here&#8217;s what that looks like:

It reads, &#8220;Helpful Steps for Transitioning at Delta.&#8221; And of course there&#8217;s the pilot with the trans pride flag draped over his body.
It goes without saying that this is incredibly irresponsible for several reasons. Put aside the fact that Delta is discriminating against qualified pilots on the basis of their skin color and gender, and promoting incompetent pilots instead. This document shows that Delta is also going out of their way to recruit trans-identifying pilots — people with extremely high rates of mental illness, and a propensity for suicide. Remember, these are people who, according to the trans activists themselves, are at risk to kill themselves if they’re misgendered or if they don’t receive all of the “affirmation” they feel they need. And the FAA and Delta want to more of them flying commercial aircraft.
In fact, in private, they&#8217;re open about the fact that they&#8217;re willing to endanger the public in order to hit diversity goals. Recently on Twitter, someone named Trace Woodgrains has been looking closely at FAA documents that were unearthed in a long-running class action lawsuit filed against the agency back during the Obama years. And he found further proof that the agency does not care if &#8220;diversity&#8221; costs people their lives. They&#8217;ve put it in writing. In 2013, for example, FAA leaders reviewed this slide:

It reads: &#8220;Key questions for leadership: What are the relative values of diversity and the prediction of performance/outcomes? There is a trade-off between diversity (adverse impact) and predicted job performance/outcomes. How much of a change in job performance is acceptable to achieve diversity goals?&#8221;
So there it is, as clear as it could possibly be. The answer to that question should be: No trade-off in job performance is acceptable to achieve any diversity goals. The mission of the FAA is to make sure people don&#8217;t die on airplanes. But increasingly it&#8217;s clear that&#8217;s not important to the FAA. I didn&#8217;t mention this on Twitter, but one of the sources who DM&#8217;d me sent this information over: &#8220;I was unaware of this until recently, but the FAA has authorized special issuance medical certificates to individuals on SSRIs &#8230; The FAA and the [airline pilots association] are looking to broaden/expand the SSRI and mental health on-ramps back to being able to exercise a first class medical certificate.&#8221;
In other words, the agency is doing everything it can to ensure that pilots taking antidepressants can fly. At the same time, the source says: &#8220;The FAA just sent a letter requesting Congress NOT to raise the mandatory retirement age from the current age of 65, and the FAA primarily states safety as a justification. Obviously, there’s zero safety data that shows a switch is flipped when you turn 65 and you are somehow instantly less competent; we all know competent 70 year olds and incompetent 50 year olds running around. &#8230;The point is that the FAA and [the pilot&#8217;s association] are much more willing to go along with the idea that SSRIs and transitioning pilots being at the controls is somehow more safe than someone who just woke up on their 65th birthday.&#8221;

These are the kind of incoherent medical standards we&#8217;ve come to expect in the FAA. A year ago, for example, the FAA abruptly lowered its medical certification guidelines for pilots with heart block. This is a serious condition; it makes it harder for the heart to pump blood effectively. Before the change, pilots with first-degree block had to provide medical documentation proving they had, “no evidence of structural function or coronary heart disease.&#8221; Now, many pilots with first-degree heart block can fly without this documentation. There was a lot of speculation this was due to complications of the COVID shot, or that this might implicate the safety of passengers. The FAA denied that, but of course we have no reason to believe anything they say anymore. This is what we can expect from the federal government at this point. Even on matters of life-or-death, they have absolutely no credibility.
There are some more documents I posted on Twitter along these lines, including some insider information on how the FAA awards contracts to various small businesses. These small businesses handle important engineering and logistics tasks for the agency. But it turns out that these contracts, like everything else these days, often prioritize &#8220;socially disadvantaged&#8221; businesses, which according to federal regulations, typically means businesses that aren&#8217;t owned by white people. In the FAA&#8217;s &#8220;eFast&#8221; contract system, these &#8220;disadvantaged&#8221; businesses get first dibs at contracts valued under $150,000.
What this means is that the FAA has adopted a gender and race-based spoils system for pretty much everything. At every step — whether you&#8217;re a baggage handler, a pilot, or a contractor — you will get priority treatment if you look a certain way. The only way to bring an end to this is for more whistleblowers to do what they did yesterday, and speak out about it. Record the meetings where they tell you they don&#8217;t want white people working for them. Save the documents showing they&#8217;re promoting incompetent pilots because they&#8217;re &#8220;trans.&#8221; If we expose enough of this, then it might finally collapse under the weight of its absurdity. If we don&#8217;t — if we allow it to fester, as everyone on that FAA videoconference did — then before long, people will die as a result.

UA 1989 and UA 2287 have been listed with clear references to the &#8220;Blank Space&#8221; hitmaker&#8217;s birth year, Kelce&#8217;s jersey number, and the 34-year-old singer&#8217;s other hit song &#8220;22.&#8221; There was also a reference to Chief&#8217;s QB Mahomes&#8217; number with flight UA 1587, People noted.
&#8220;These special flights will provide direct flights for more than 1,000 Kansas City fans to get to Vegas to cheer on the Chiefs,&#8221; the airline said in a statement to People.
&#8220;United is flying its largest Super Bowl schedule ever this year adding more than 40 special flights total, which will help 14,000 more fans across the country get to the big game,&#8221; it added.

The Secretary of Defense is out of commission, and no one&#8217;s even pretending anymore that the commander-in-chief has any idea what&#8217;s going on in the world. 
So, unless you&#8217;re heavily invested in weapons manufacturing, or sit on the board of Raytheon, you probably have a lot of urgent questions about last night&#8217;s U.S. military strikes in Yemen. You might wonder, for example, who exactly the Houthis are, and why they made the decision to shut down a critical international trade route by terrorizing ships in the Red Sea. It&#8217;s the kind of provocation that obviously justifies a response. It&#8217;s almost like they&#8217;re asking for U.S. military involvement in the region. You might also have questions about whether this is somehow a &#8220;wag the dog&#8221; scenario, given the Biden administration&#8217;s disastrous poll numbers.
Regardless of your position on yesterday&#8217;s missile strikes, these are fair concerns. You&#8217;re not a conspiracy theorist for asking about them. After years of relentless lies from cable news &#8220;experts&#8221;, the skepticism isn&#8217;t really noteworthy at all. In fact, at this point, even the experts themselves have basically conceded that they can&#8217;t be trusted. That&#8217;s become particularly clear in just the past few days. From the airline industry to medicine, we are witnessing the collapse of the expert class in this country. They have lost their legitimacy, and they know it.
You may have heard about Tony Fauci&#8217;s admission in a closed-door House committee hearing the other day. Fauci began by denying that he ever played a role in shutting down any schools in this country. That&#8217;s a lie, of course. Fauci&#8217;s agency provided official guidance calling on schools to shut down, which exposed those schools to civil liability if they refused. Then Fauci was asked about his infamous guidance that everyone needed to &#8220;socially distance,&#8221; or stand six feet apart. As you probably remember, this six-foot rule became gospel in this country, virtually overnight. Every business and school and government building and airport put up little placards and stickers on the floor, instructing everyone to obey. At the time, we were told that &#8220;the science&#8221; mandated this rule. But the other day, Tony Fauci admitted what he always knew all along, which is that there was, in fact, no scientific data justifying this whatsoever. He says, essentially, that they just made it up on the spot. Here&#8217;s a New York Post reporter describing Fauci&#8217;s closed-door testimony:

The guidance “just appeared,” miraculously, like manna from heaven. Nobody knows where it came from or why, but there it was. Six feet apart they said, for no reason. Why not seven? Why not 10? Why not 100? Why not three? No reason. Literally no reason. Six feet is just what was decided, by whoever decided it.
This isn&#8217;t the first time that Tony Fauci has admitted to lying to the public about COVID. At one point, you may remember, he told the New York Times that he had deliberately misled Americans about the concept of &#8220;herd immunity,&#8221; by continually moving the goalposts. 
Remember herd immunity? That was the idea that, once a certain number of people became immune to COVID — whether through infection or vaccination — then the virus becomes less of a threat, and we can resume our normal lives. Somehow, Fauci&#8217;s threshold for herd immunity kept changing throughout the pandemic. He kept saying that a bigger percentage of Americans needed to get the virus before herd immunity would apply. And then, when the Times asked him why he kept changing the percentage, he admitted it was just social engineering.
This week, though, Fauci dropped the pretense of &#8220;science&#8221; entirely. He just admitted he was making stuff up. He was misleading us about pretty much every aspect of COVID — from social distancing to masks to the COVID shot to herd immunity. And now that he&#8217;s out of power, he can finally admit it because he knows he won&#8217;t suffer any consequences.

This is one of those stories that&#8217;s getting buried, for obvious reasons. For one thing, no one wants to hear about Fauci anymore. For a lot of different reasons, liberals and conservatives alike would prefer not to revisit that time in our recent history when Fauci was the most visible and powerful person in the country. Also, admittedly, there&#8217;s a lot going on in the world. Fine. But if you take ten steps back, you&#8217;ll see that the new expert class — the people who demand to be taken as seriously as Fauci — are struggling to replace him. They simply have no credibility. 
Recall again the story that broke the other day in Axios. Here&#8217;s what they <a href="https://x.com/axios/status/1744702577512509893?s=20" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a>: &#8220;BREAKING: The climate of 2023 was the hottest seen in at least 125,000 years; for the first time in instrument records, daily global average temperatures went well above a Paris guardrail of 2°C.&#8221; 
Along with that scary headline, Axios includes a chart that only goes back until the 1970s, strangely enough. But all the same, they&#8217;re insistent that 2023 was the hottest climate the world has seen in at least 125,000 years. Now, I could reference a bunch of experts who contradict this theory. I could tell you all about Steve Milloy, a senior fellow at the Energy and Environment Legal Institute, who <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/hottest-days-ever-dont-believe-it-global-temperature-north-sole-poles-6e64a991" target="_blank" rel="noopener">debunked</a> this garbage science in the Wall Street Journal recently. Milloy pointed out that — if you can believe it — we didn&#8217;t have satellites or temperature stations to measure temperature 125,000 years ago. He also writes that even today, most of the world isn&#8217;t covered by temperature stations, and the temperature stations we do have are still quite inaccurate. In fact, he wrote, &#8220;it&#8217;s been estimated that 96% of U.S. temperature stations produce corrupted data.&#8221; So we can’t trust temperature data today — much less data from before human civilization was formed. But I really don&#8217;t have to cite any of this, because it&#8217;s all obvious to anyone with any common sense whatsoever. That’s why the comments on that Axios article are uniformly negative because people aren&#8217;t buying the lies anymore. 
This is a trend that&#8217;s been causing a lot of panic among experts and institutions that aren&#8217;t used to being challenged — including pretty much every corporate backer of the anti-white scam known as &#8220;diversity, equity and inclusion.&#8221; These are institutions that insist that DEI is a core part of their mission. They say their companies and universities simply cannot survive without it. But the moment you expose them, they run away in horror. All you have to do is shine a light on what they&#8217;re doing, and they give it up.
That&#8217;s what just happened to Spirit AeroSystems. That&#8217;s the manufacturer of the door that blew out on that Alaska Airlines flight recently, while the plane was taking off. Yesterday, I came across a TikTok video that was uploaded by a Spirit AeroSystems employee (or intern, possibly) about a year ago. This is footage from a conference for women in engineering. The video caught my eye, because the hashtags were &#8220;Women in Engineering&#8221; and &#8220;Spirit&#8217;s Dream Team.&#8221; So naturally I clicked on the video. I wanted to see what an engineering &#8220;dream team&#8221; looks like at a company that very clearly is incompetent at engineering. Here&#8217;s what I found:

Well, hey, what they lack in engineering talent and skill, they make up for in sass. Now you can shout “girl power” while you’re being sucked out of the giant hole in the side of the plane at 30 thousand feet. This the &#8220;dream team&#8221; at the company that made the door that fell off a passenger plane flying over Portland the other day. And within about an hour of me posting that video on Twitter, the Spirit AeroSystems employee (or intern) took it down. They know this is absurd. They know it&#8217;s completely incompatible with their mission. All you have to do is expose it, and they fold.
The same thing just happened at Johns Hopkins Medicine. Hopkins&#8217; &#8220;DEI office&#8221; — which exists, for some reason — sent out an <a href="https://twitter.com/EndWokeness/status/1745161772057649648" target="_blank" rel="noopener">email</a> to employees alerting them to potential patients who have unearned &#8220;privilege&#8221;. The list includes &#8220;Males, Christians, White People, English-speaking people, Middle or owning class people, Cisgender People, Heterosexuals, and Able-Bodied people,&#8221; among others. I&#8217;ll say that again. Johns Hopkins Medicine believes that &#8220;males, Christians, White people, English-speaking people, Middle or owning class people, cisgender people, heterosexuals, and able-bodied people&#8221; are inherently &#8220;privileged.&#8221; And of course the word &#8220;privilege&#8221; is a very thinly veiled code. What Hopkins is really saying, of course, is that they don&#8217;t like Christians, or whites, or heterosexuals. They&#8217;re not looking at any real markers of privilege. They&#8217;re just indulging their bigotry. That&#8217;s the unmistakable message there.
Keep in mind, this is a hospital and a medical school we&#8217;re talking about. They have the ability to administer treatments that can save people or kill them. Their only job is treating people. They should not be making lists about groups of people who are inherently inferior to other groups of people. This kind of thing is threatening, actually. And they know that. That&#8217;s why, as soon as this was published online by the X account &#8220;End Wokeness,&#8221; Hopkins took their little hit list down. Their DEI office issued a completely insincere apology and scampered away.

Again, this is a pattern. Also yesterday — the same day that Hopkins took down its DEI list, and Spirit took down its TikTok video — Southwest Airlines <a href="https://x.com/WallStreetSilv/status/1745592257254654264?s=20" target="_blank" rel="noopener">deleted a post</a> on X about its &#8220;all-female flight crew.&#8221; The post read: &#8220;All female flight crew? Go off, queens!&#8221; But as it turns out, people don&#8217;t care about the gender diversity of their flight crew. They care about competence. They care about not dying. And in no uncertain terms, thousands of people let Southwest know that. So, once again, they erased the post and pretended it never happened.
It&#8217;s easy to take this kind of thing for granted. But just a few years ago, it would have been unheard of. Fauci never would have admitted fault. Neither would Johns Hopkins, as they told us to stay socially distant and wear masks. Neither would the airlines, as they bombarded us with propaganda about the importance of DEI hiring. But now these frauds are being held to account. When they try to lie, like Axios did with their climate alarmists, no one buys it anymore. When they try to push their ham-fisted social engineering, people call them out on it.
What this means is that the rule of the experts is over.
They can&#8217;t tell us to swallow DEI anymore than they can tell us to wear a mask or stand six feet apart. For everyone who cares about competence and public safety, this is the best possible outcome. For bloated DEI bureaucracies, this development marks — at long last — the beginning of the end.
