‘You’ve Chosen To Book Spectacle’: Chuck Todd Unloads On Media Outlets Platforming Hunter Biden

Longtime “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd called out media outlets for continuing to book former President Joe Biden’s embattled son Hunter Biden, saying that those who chose to give him a platform were choosing to “book spectacle” over substance.

Todd spoke up on his eponymous podcast — “The Chuck Todd-Cast” — after Hunter Biden gave a slew of interviews that essentially boiled down to expletive-laden attacks on anyone who either failed to support his dad all the way to the end or who had supported President Donald Trump in any way. Todd’s main objection to the interviews appeared to be that keeping the younger Biden on camera was not good for anyone — especially the Democratic Party.

“I will never book Hunter Biden. I have no interest in what he has to say for a couple reasons. Number one, he’s not the candidate. He wasn’t on the ballot. Anything he says is in defense of his father. I don’t know whether it’s true or not, but it doesn’t matter, he’s a son defending his father, and my guess is he’s going to defend him to the hilt,” Todd began. “So I just kind of think, you know, I take every one of his anger pieces of anger and criticism and I just sort of chalk it up to, yeah, he’s defending his dad and he loves his dad.”

“I have a real problem with the folks that are booking him. If you’ve chosen to book Hunter Biden, you’ve chose to book spectacle. You’re not interested in — and the two interviews that have gone viral were both designed to get attention, not to surface new facts, not to give you a better understanding of what may have happened. It was just, let’s give him a platform to settle some scores that maybe he wants to settle,” Todd continued.

His overall assessment was simple: “I don’t think this does Hunter Biden any good. I don’t think this does Joe Biden any good, it certainly doesn’t do the Democratic Party any good. That’s why it’s surprising to see the former DNC chair, start a podcast and decide that the best way to market it is Hunter Biden.”

In his recent interviews, Hunter Biden lashed out at actor George Clooney for writing the op-ed that kick-started a wave of Democrat calls for President Joe Biden to bow out of the 2024 presidential race. Hunter also called out the Democratic Party, scolding them for folding under the pressure rather than having his dad’s back when it mattered.
