Radio shock jock Howard Stern has made sure it’s no secret that he believes hospitals should deny treatment to people who have not been vaccinated against the novel coronavirus.
Stern said on his Wednesday broadcast of “The Howard Stern Show” on Sirius XM that when unvaccinated people showed up at hospitals with symptoms of COVID-19, they should be turned away.
Stern was responding to a caller, identified as “Aaron,” who claimed that it was unfair for hospitals to put time, effort, and expense into treating people who had not gotten one of the available COVID-19 vaccines.
“What would you think about just letting the pandemic run wild and move through the unvaccinated?” Aaron asked Stern.
“If it was up to me, anyone unvaccinated would not be admitted to a hospital,” Stern replied, and Aaron agreed, adding, “Send them home with a bottle of Robitussin.”
Aaron noted that some of the people opposed to the vaccines had latched onto fringe conspiracy theories suggesting that the government was using the vaccines to spy on people or “turn them into magnets.”
“I’ve taken this vaccine three times and the worst side effect is for a day, I had a little bit of a headache,” Stern said, arguing that taking the vaccine was a “civic duty” for Americans, not a sinister plot to turn them all into “robots” or worse.
“No one’s sitting there conspiring against you. Americans don’t want to create a vaccine that’s going to turn you into a robot, or magnetize you. There’s enough Americans now have taken it. Look at us as a sampling where nothing has happened to us. It’s time for you to get it,” he said.
Stern then pivoted to say that if he were in charge, hospitals would simply refuse to treat any unvaccinated patients who presented at a hospital with COVID-19. “Now if you don’t get it, in my America, all hospitals would be closed to you. You’re gonna go home and die,” he concluded.

Stern previously lashed out at tennis star Novak Djokovic, who lost his appeal to play in the Australian Open after running afoul of the nation’s vaccine mandate. “Throw him right the f*** out of tennis,” Stern said, cheering Australia’s move to have him elected from both the tournament and the country.

Djokovic, who was initially granted a waiver stating that he had recovered from COVID-19 and did not need the vaccine, was ultimately deported from Australia after a legal fight that did not turn out in his favor.
