Young star Timothée Chalamet said that superstar actor Leonardo DiCaprio once gave him advice on having success in Hollywood.

During the 26-year-old actor’s interview for the latest issue of British Vogue, the “Call Me by Your Name” star shared what DiCaprio told him about having a successful career in the movie industry, the outlet reported in a piece published Thursday.

Chalamet said when he met the 47-year-old actor in 2018, “The Great Gatsby” star told him, “No hard drugs and no superhero movies.”

Chalamet, who has been in an a handful of films since, appears to have taken the advice to heart.

“I had a delusional dream in my early teenage years to have, in my late teenage years, an acting career,” the “Dune” star explained to the outlet.

“I should have been trying to get my adult feet under myself a little bit earlier than I did,” he added. “I found myself having to really, you know, be honest with myself that where I’ve been able to get myself to in life was balls to the wall, like throwing everything at [it] at a young age that, by some miracle, got me to where I am.”

“The King” star ended up working with DiCaprio in 2021’s “Don’t Look Up.

The advice “The Aviator” star gave the up-and-coming actor was somewhat different to what the “Titanic” star previously shared while he was doing publicity for his 2008’s “Revolutionary Road,” per The Daily Actor.

“People are always asking me what advice I would give to young actors — which makes me feel incredibly old,” Leonardo shared.  “The only thing I’d say is we all know there will be a new piece of meat.”

“The one thing you can count on is that the spotlight of attention will fade away,” he added.  “The only thing that’s gonna make you survive and have a career and not make you go do something else is concentrating on doing the best work you possibly can when you’re given the opportunity, because that opportunity will go away.”
