Ratings are down. Cultural prestige? Sinking as we speak. Yet the Best Picture race is one even casual movie fans tend to track. It’s the night’s biggest honor, and having a Best Picture logo next to a film title still holds some sway in the culture.
That’s even though most people didn’t see, or can’t remember, the last few Best Picture winners.
And, each awards season, experts track which film has the best chance to win that Oscar trophy. It’s the ultimate horse race, with box office results, critical reviews, and cultural resonance influencing the outcome.
Is this year’s race over already, weeks before some Oscar-bait films have even reached theaters? It sure looks that way.
Director Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another” stars Leonardo DiCaprio and has already won multiple honors, and the awards season has barely begun. The film swept the National Board of Review’s 2025 honors, including Best Film, Best Director, and Best Actor (DiCaprio).
That’s in addition to best picture wins with the Atlanta Film Critics Circle, the Gotham Awards, and the New York Film Critics Circle. The film also scored big with Sight and Sound’s 2025 Best Films Of The Year List, topping its 2025 chart.

“One Battle After Another” stars DiCaprio as a bumbling protester who hangs up his revolutionary jacket to raise his mixed-race daughter (Chase Infiniti). His radical past comes back to haunt them when a racist, out-of-control Colonel (Sean Penn) tracks his daughter down for nefarious purposes.
It doesn’t take Peter Falk’s iconic Columbo to sleuth out why “One Battle After Another” is generating so much critical adoration. Yes, Anderson is a top-tier filmmaker, and some of the sequences in the film prove exhilarating.
The film’s political point of view is pure catnip to a community wedded to progressive ideals. The story’s heroes are anti-government radicals who will do whatever it takes to free illegal immigrants taken into U.S. custody.
If that means holding U.S. officials at gunpoint, setting off fireworks, or bombing buildings, so be it. The U.S. forces shown throughout the film are almost uniformly cruel, callous, or just plain evil. A subplot involving a White Nationalist group feels too extreme even for your average MS NOW anchor.
It wasn’t for movie critics, apparently. They’ve endlessly praised the film to the tune of a 94% “fresh” rating at RottenTomatoes.com. The general public liked it, albeit less, via an 85% “fresh” score.
Some scribes have tried to <a href="https://variety.com/2025/film/columns/no-one-battle-after-another-is-not-a-left-wing-film-1236556461/">downplay the film’s far-Left politics</a>, a funnier take than any late-night monologue.

It helps that no other 2025 release has “Best Picture” written all over it. Director Chloe Zhao’s “Hamnet” is getting early raves, but the film has barely registered at the box office ($1.7 million to date) and offers a maudlin subject. The film imagines what William Shakespeare and his wife endured after the loss of their son.
The Boss biopic “Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere” flopped in theaters and didn’t get enough critical love.
Art remains subjective, but Hollywood politics are another matter. Not only does “One Battle After Another” reflect the industry’s hard-Left embrace of open borders, it’s a thumb in the eye to both ICE and President Donald Trump.
The latter will be irresistible to Academy voters. And, chances are, the film’s key stars will lean into that sentiment during awards season.
The various arts honors do more than help predict which films and actors will emerge triumphant on Oscar night. They let the early winners test out their acceptance speeches, another unwritten part of their Oscar campaigns.
Uncork a few fiery “thank you… and” speeches, hitting all the “approved” targets along the way, and a star’s Oscar chances perk up.
Now, imagine what DiCaprio would say at the Oscar podium while collecting his second Best Actor statue for “One Battle After Another.” He used his 2017 podium time to promote his Climate Change agenda.

There’s less than zero chance he won’t blast President Trump’s attempt to enforce immigration laws in any 2026 speech. And he won’t be alone.
Recent Oscar ceremonies have dialed back, to a degree, on the hard-Left polemics. Even far-Left host Jimmy Kimmel hasn’t leaned into his progressive bona fides in recent years.
That will change in 2026 after a full year of President Trump’s return to the White House. Is there a better film to reflect that “resistance” than “One Battle After Another”? That’s rhetorical.
We still have a few more weeks before the year ends. Films like “Marty Supreme,” starring perennial Oscar-bait Timothee Chalamet, hit theaters on Christmas Day. Still, anyone who grasps Oscar culture knows a heavy favorite when he or she sees one.
There is one dark path forward that could derail “One Battle After Another.” The film’s gauzy framing of violence against immigration enforcement took an ugly turn when real attacks on ICE agents broke out close to the film’s release.
The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/second-illegal-immigrant-detainee-dies-after-dallas-ice-shooting">September attack on a Dallas-based ICE facility</a> didn’t kill any U.S. agents, but it did leave two illegal immigrants dead. The media complex didn’t connect the attack to “One Battle After Another,” but if similar events follow, the connection may be unavoidable.
Hollywood may want to shrug off any ties between the film and actual carnage, but it might be enough of a problem to coax Oscar voters to select another, less incendiary film.

Mainstream critics have been falling all over themselves to praise the political action thriller “One Battle After Another,” but their fawning hasn’t been enough to help the film break even at the box office.
Many conservatives balked at the storyline, especially as instances of real-life violence against federal immigration agents continue.
“One Battle After Another” stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Bob Ferguson, a former far-left revolutionary living off-grid in a state of stoned paranoia, but he is forced to return to his old lifestyle when his daughter disappears. Bob teams up with his old crew of comrades to save his daughter and the world from a cabal of right-wing antagonists portrayed as racists. The leftists resort to violence in their mission, raising questions about whether their actions reflect genuine heroism or simply serve as a vehicle for political messaging.
The film is loosely based on Thomas Pynchon’s 1990 novel Vineland, per <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-15175073/leonardo-dicaprio-one-battle-woke-flop.html">The Daily Mail</a>.
Director Paul Thomas Anderson, an 11-time Oscar nominee, went all in with the budget, spending a whopping $175 million to bring the story to life. But so far it’s only earned back $100 million and came in second place last weekend behind Taylor Swift’s “The Life of a Showgirl: The Official Release Party.”

“This movie has a chance of getting to profitability if it lasts long enough in theaters and/or overperforms abroad,” David A. Gross, head of box office intelligence firm Franchise Entertainment Research, <a href="https://variety.com/2025/film/box-office/box-office-one-battle-after-another-opening-weekend-leonardo-dicaprio-1236533304/">told</a> Variety.
“It&#8217;s going to get a lot of award nominations, but that&#8217;s two to three months away and unlikely to help this immediate release,” he added.
This is despite “One Battle” having a 95% critical rating and 85% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. While major critics gush that the movie “represents a cinema of big swings and bold statements,” many conservatives are saying it’s just more left-wing propaganda from Hollywood. 
“You can make excuses for it, but basically the [film is] an apologia for radical left-wing terrorism, that’s what it is,” Daily Wire Editor Emeritus Ben Shapiro said, also predicting it will win “all the Academy Awards” because of who it presents as heroes and villains.

“It has the subtlety of a brick … The basic suggestion is a conspiracy theory in which the United States is run by white supremacist Christian nationalists and all people of color and a few nice incompetent fellow travelers like [DiCaprio’s character] are going to take on that entire system,” Shapiro went on. 
“And that system must be taken on at the cost of family, at the cost of friendship, at the cost of decency, at the cost of basic human capacity for success. It is better, in other words, to be a complete loser who wastes your life bombing things randomly in order to free illegal immigrants to run willy-nilly across the border than to be a productive citizen.”

Topline: The government shutdown enters its third day, as the blame game continues and President Donald Trump threatens mass firings of federal employees. 
The GOP strategy: The White House wants to make the shutdown about healthcare funding for illegal immigrants. It says the Democrat proposal would result in $200 billion in subsidies going to non-citizens over the next decade, primarily through Medicaid and mandatory emergency care. The White House argues that the American people elected President Trump to cut those exact policies, and by blocking him from doing so, Democrats are denying the will of the people.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt <a href="https://x.com/RapidResponse47/status/1973753810154889282">said</a>: “Trump ran on the promise to end taxpayer-funded benefits going to illegal aliens, and tens of millions of Americans voted him back to this beautiful White House to implement that promise … and now Democrats want to undo it — and they&#8217;re holding our country hostage.”
The White House says the United States will lose $15 billion in GDP revenue each week the shutdown drags on, and it wants to ensure Democrats bear the blame, posting news clips on social media describing national guardsmen going unpaid, food assistance for low-income single mothers drying up, etc.

A number of federal websites had new banners on Thursday — the official Justice Department homepage, for example, read “Democrats have shut down the government … websites are not currently updated.” 
Trump’s austerity: The president is targeting “non-essential” federal employees for termination as part of his broader government efficiency efforts. He posted on social media that he “had a meeting today with Russ Vought, he of PROJECT 2025 Fame, to determine which of the many Democrat Agencies, most of which are a political SCAM, he recommends to be cut … I can’t believe the Radical Left Democrats gave me this unprecedented opportunity.”

The U.K.’s counterterrorism police have deemed the attack a “<a href="https://www.nytimes.com/live/2025/10/02/world/manchester-synagogue-stabbing-uk">terrorist incident</a>.”
Timeline: Authorities first received calls at around 9:30 a.m. local time about a man driving his vehicle into pedestrians outside the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation synagogue. The suspect, identified as Jihad al-Shamie, a 35-year-old British citizen who is of Syrian descent, then got out of his vehicle and began stabbing people around him. Authorities have confirmed that two people have been killed and four others were injured.
The suspect was shot and killed by police about 7-8 minutes after authorities were first called. 
The attack: The terrorist was not able to enter the actual synagogue because the entrance was locked and barricaded. When he exited the vehicle, he immediately encountered synagogue security and other members who stopped him.
Step back: About 30,000 Jewish people reside in Manchester – outside of London, it’s home to the largest Jewish community in the country. Antisemitic incidents in the U.K. have hit record levels after the October 7th attack by Hamas in Israel. In the first half of this year alone, there have been more than 1,500 reported incidents.

National Review contributor Giancarlo Sopo joined Morning Wire to discuss the film, “One Battle After Another.”
What is the film about? “I think to understand ‘One Battle After Another,’ you have to understand the book that it&#8217;s based on, and it&#8217;s Thomas Pynchon’s ‘Vineland.’ Essentially, it&#8217;s a story about a bunch of radicals who have gotten burned out, have attempted to attack government installations and institutions using violence. Now they are being hunted. So, it&#8217;s a satire, right? You’ve got radicals on one side, and then on the right, you&#8217;re going to have a bunch of racist, autocratic thugs, essentially, coming after them who are part of this paramilitary organization that is also tied, by the way, to a secret society of races called the Christmas Adventurers Club.”
Is it a political movie? “I think the film&#8217;s political sympathies are obviously with the progressive left. At the same time, though, I wouldn&#8217;t necessarily call it a political movie. I would look at it more as Antifa Star Wars, as a friend told me, where the politics and the radicalism is kind of used as a vehicle to tell a father-daughter story. You have this burned-out dad who spends all day smoking weed and watching ‘The Battle Of Algiers,’ bringing up a young daughter, who&#8217;s a teenager now, entirely by himself. And he&#8217;s having a hard time communicating with her. There are very funny, generational conflicts as tends to happen to those who have kids now are starting to figure that out.”
Is there any sympathy for people considered to be on the right in the film? “The thing with the movie is that no one&#8217;s really in the center, right? Or really the center left or much less the middle. It follows a set of extremists on both sides. And what the story is telling you on the political side is that these ideologies are pulling people away from what matters most to them in life, which should be their own children. There are very clear passages in the film that communicate that. I don&#8217;t think anyone is portrayed here sympathetically in the film, to be candid with you, with the exception of the teenage girl.”

Model Vittoria Ceretti gave a rare interview detailing her relationship with Hollywood A-lister Leonardo DiCaprio.
The Italian model, 26, has been romantically linked to DiCaprio, 50, since August 2023. She shared some tidbits about their relationship in a new cover story interview for <a href="https://www.vogue.fr/article/interview-vittoria-ceretti-vogue-france-avril-2025">Vogue France&#8217;s</a> April 2025 issue, per the translated version of the original article in French.
When asked how the couple met, Ceretti replied, “In Milan. But I prefer not to go into details.” The model confirmed that she had seen the massively popular film “Titanic” (1997), which DiCaprio starred in. “Who hasn&#8217;t seen it? Or didn&#8217;t like it? It&#8217;s an iconic film,” she answered.
Next, Ceretti revealed the “annoying” thing about dating someone as famous as her current boyfriend. “As soon as you&#8217;re in a relationship with someone who has a larger following than you, you become ‘girlfriend of’—or ‘boyfriend of,’ for that matter. And that can be extremely annoying,” she told the outlet. 
“Suddenly, people are talking about you as so-and-so&#8217;s girlfriend who was so-and-so&#8217;s ex. So it&#8217;s not nice to think that you can&#8217;t love whoever you want, because of the labels people need to stick on you,” she added.
When the interviewer mentioned how difficult it must be to date “one of the most desired people in the world,” Ceretti responded, “It&#8217;s something you learn. If what you&#8217;re experiencing is real, if you know you love each other, then there&#8217;s no reason to be alarmed. Because love protects and gives confidence.”
The interviewer noted that Ceretti gave a “big smile of relief” after he stopped asking “boyfriend questions.”
DiCaprio has never been married and is known for dating much younger models. He’s been romantically linked to Gisele Bündchen, Gigi Hadid, and Camila Morrone, among others, and all of these relationships have been kept very private.
There’s been a joke circulating about how the actor refuses to date women older than 25. DiCaprio seemingly broke his own rule by staying with Ceretti after she <a href="https://www.newsweek.com/leonardo-dicaprio-breaks-dating-rule-1909560">turned 26</a> last June, as many people pointed out on social media.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kate-winslet" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kate Winslet</a> decided to kiss and tell when it comes to her “Titanic” costar Leonardo DiCaprio, admitting that as romantic as their onscreen kiss looked, it was “not all it’s cracked up to be.&#8221;
During an interview with <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9Z4caCa2yw">Vanity Fair</a>, the 48-year-old actress reflected on her time working on James Cameron’s monster 1997 hit and all that went into the actors&#8217; famous scene “flying” on the bow of the ship.
“My God, he’s quite the romancer, isn’t he? No wonder every young girl in the world wanted to be kissed by Leonardo DiCaprio,&#8221; Winslet said. &#8220;It was not all it’s cracked up to be.&#8221;
Winslet said DiCaprio wasn’t all to blame and said it was a “mess” trying to get the shot, because her dress was so tight she could barely breath, with “her boobs practically up to her chin.” She also recalled having to climb a ladder to make the scene work where she said hair and makeup couldn’t reach them, so she said she had to carry makeup in her clothing and do touchups between takes.

&#8220;We kept doing this kiss, and I’ve got a lot of pale makeup on, and I would have to do our makeup checks — on both of us, between takes — and I would end up looking as though I’d been sucking a caramel chocolate bar after each take because his makeup would come off on me,&#8221; she added. &#8220;And he just looked like there was a bit missing from his face because there was this big pale bit from all my makeup getting onto him.&#8221;

“Because I feel that it is that film that just keeps giving,&#8221; Winslet said. &#8220;Whole other generations of people are discovering the film or seeing it for the first time and there’s something extraordinary about that.&#8221;
In a recent interview, the superstar actress admitted all the fame she got after appearing in “Titanic” was “horrible.&#8221;

Actor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">Timothée Chalamet</a> said there’s one situation where he’d consider signing on for a superhero movie despite <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/leonardo-dicaprio">Leonardo DiCaprio</a>’s advice to avoid them.
Chalamet made headlines in 2022 upon sharing that DiCaprio had given him some words of wisdom for succeeding in Hollywood, saying, “No hard drugs and no <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/superheroes">superhero</a> movies.” The “Wonka” star is reflecting on that now with some more years and experience, admitting that he might have to break those rules.
“Well, Leonardo DiCaprio said to me, ‘No superhero movies, no hard drugs.’ Which I thought was very good,” Chalamet told <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/02/21/movies/dune-timothee-chalamet-villeneuve.html">The New York Times</a> during a recent interview. “I follow them both! But the movie that made me want to act is a superhero movie, ‘The Dark Knight.’ If the script was great, if the director was great, I’d have to consider it.”
That’s not the first time Chalamet praised Christopher Nolan’s critically acclaimed 2008 drama starring Christian Bale and Heath Ledger. 
“When I was 12 years old, after attending one of my sister Pauline’s [ballet] performances, I petitioned my Mom and grandma to see Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight’ with me,” Chalamet said during an awards acceptance speech in 2018, per <a href="https://variety.com/2024/film/news/timothee-chalamet-consider-superhero-movie-script-director-1235922292/">Variety</a>. “We went to AMC Empire 25 in Times Square for a 7:30 screening. I left that theater a changed man, and I’m serious about that. Heath Ledger‘s performance in that film was visceral and viral to me, and I now had the acting bug.”
Chalamet has been a rising star in Hollywood who received nominations for an Academy Award, three Golden Globe Awards, and three BAFTA Film Awards. He made his film debut in “Men, Women, and Children” (2014) and later gained international recognition in the movie “Call Me by Your Name” (2017), which also earned the actor a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actor. 
The celeb also appeared in “Lady Bird” (2017), “Little Women” (2019), “Beautiful Boy” (2018), and played a young cannibal in the horror film “Bones and All” (2022).

Iconic movie director <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/martin-scorsese">Martin Scorsese</a> said his first time working with both <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/leonardo-dicaprio">Leonardo DiCaprio</a> and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/robert-de-niro">Robert De Niro</a> on the same project caused some friction.
The trio of greats teamed up for Scorsese’s newest <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/watch/movies">film</a>, an American Western crime drama called “Killers of the Flower Moon.” The Academy Award-winning filmmaker said in a recent <a href="https://www.wsj.com/style/martin-scorsese-killers-flower-moon-b4989f0c">profile</a> by The Wall Street Journal Magazine that the two actors didn’t always get along on set.
It all had to do with DiCaprio’s tendency to talk a lot during his <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment">improv performances</a>. &#8220;Every now and then, Bob and I would look at each other and roll our eyes a little bit,&#8221; Scorsese told the outlet. &#8220;And we&#8217;d tell [DiCaprio], &#8216;You don&#8217;t need that dialogue.'&#8221;
The director highlighted the difference between the two men, saying DiCaprio’s talking was &#8220;endless, endless, endless!&#8221; while De Niro &#8220;didn&#8217;t want to talk.&#8221;
Scorsese has touched on this before, but insisted that both actors complemented each other.
&#8220;I found I could work with [Leo] if I talked with him a lot,&#8221; Scorsese told reporters at a press conference in early October, per <a href="https://ew.com/movies/killers-of-the-flower-moon-exclusive-clip-robert-de-niro-leonardo-dicaprio/">Entertainment Weekly</a>. &#8220;His method for me is a method of constant conversation, constant exploration. With De Niro, it&#8217;s a little different. Yes, there&#8217;s talking, but then there&#8217;s quiet.&#8221; 
He said this was actually a good thing, insisting that &#8220;the two together played off each other so beautifully.”
&#8220;When Leo and I started to work together, I discovered we had similar sensibilities that Bob and I had,&#8221; Scorsese added. &#8220;He was also brave enough to go to places the way that Bob would — difficult places. [He had] a fearlessness about performing and trying anything.&#8221;

“Killers of the Flower Moon” is set in 1920s Oklahoma and explores America’s interactions with indigenous people at the time. It follows a string of murders, dubbed the “Reign of Terror,” of members of the Osage Nation. DiCaprio plays Ernest Burkhart, a World War I veteran, while De Niro portrays his uncle, Oklahoma businessman William Hale. 
Though the three Hollywood legends have never worked together before, this is Scorsese’s tenth film with De Niro and his sixth with DiCaprio. De Niro and DiCaprio also appeared in movies together several times, beginning with “This Boy’s Life” in (1993).
“Killer of the Flower Moon” premieres on Friday.

A-list actor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/leonardo-dicaprio">Leonardo DiCaprio</a> took the stand in the federal trial against recording artist Prakazrel “Pras” Michel, a founding member of the Fugees, who stands accused of funneling money into former president <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/barack-obama">Barack Obama</a>’s re-election campaign in 2012.
DiCaprio, 48, used to associate with the fugitive Malaysian financier Jho Low, who allegedly gave the money to Michel to donate to the campaign through shell accounts. Michel is <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/leonardo-dicaprio-testifies-fugees-rapper-trial-saying-team-vetted-wol-rcna77911">accused</a> of conspiring to make <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/election-fraud">illegal campaign contributions</a> using foreign money, witness tampering, and failure to register as a foreign agent of the Chinese government.
The actor, who was on the stand for about an hour, said he thought Low was “sort of a prodigy in the business world and ultra-successful.”
Low apparently told the actor he planned to contribute funds to the campaign. “It was a significant sum — something to the tune of $20-30 million,” DiCaprio said in court on Monday. “I said, ‘Wow that’s a lot of money!’”
DiCaprio was connected with Low for years. The financier also helped fund the actor’s film “The Wolf of Wall Street,” which earned him a Golden Globe for Best Actor. DiCaprio often partied with Low, accompanying him on private jets to events where Michel was sometimes present as well, he said.
Michel was selected to facilitate the donations because Low could not legally do so as a foreigner, per United States election laws. Prosecutors charged Michel with accepting tens of millions of dollars to lobby the government on behalf of Low and the Chinese government. 
Low stands accused of embezzling a whopping $4.5 billion from Malaysia’s state investment fund known as 1MDB, <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/04/03/leonardo-dicaprio-testifies-in-fugees-lobbying-trial-that-financier-jho-low-tried-to-funnel-30m-to-obama/">per</a> The New York Post.
Other witnesses also testified that Michel wired them thousands of dollars and requested that they make shadow donations to Obama’s campaign, the Post noted. Michel was allegedly paid $70 million for his efforts.

Michel pleaded not guilty to all charges. The most serious charge carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.

Fraser, who was just a few years older than DiCaprio, was among the many who took notice of the young actor&#8217;s ability.
&#8220;I think I had just been in &#8216;School Ties&#8217; or something then, and I was, like, flummoxed but I just wanted to tell him, &#8216;Hear, hear. That was incredible,'&#8221; Fraser explained.
It wasn&#8217;t until years later, when the two happened to cross paths again while filming Martin Scorcese&#8217;s &#8220;Killers of the Flower Moon&#8221; — which also stars Robert De Niro and is slated for release in May of 2023 — that Fraser was reminded of that first meeting. DiCaprio, he explained, remembered exactly what he had said all those years ago and said it back to him.

Newly released <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/fbi">FBI</a> documents show that federal law enforcement officials grilled Hollywood celebrities Leonardo DiCaprio and Kim Kardashian over their connections to a man at the center of a massive foreign fraud scandal who is now in hiding in communist China.
The scandal is the multi-billion dollar graft scandal at state-fund 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) that resulted in former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak being sent to prison last year for more than a decade.
Malaysian financier Jho Low helped start the fund in 2009 to allegedly promote economic development for the Asian nation, Reuters <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/malaysias-ex-pm-najib-multi-billion-dollar-1mdb-scandal-2022-08-23/">reported</a>. The report said that the scandal erupted into the largest kleptocracy investigation ever conducted by the U.S. Department of Justice with at least $4.5 billion stolen from the public fund and moved into offshore accounts with billions more still not accounted for. Malaysia says that Low, who is on the run from U.S. authorities, is hiding in China.
Federal authorities — including FBI agents, IRS officials, and DOJ prosecutors — interviewed <a href="https://assets.bwbx.io/documents/users/iqjWHBFdfxIU/rqXik3s0O4O4/v0">DiCaprio</a> in April 2018 and <a href="https://assets.bwbx.io/documents/users/iqjWHBFdfxIU/rUYzz.ixoF7A/v0">Kardashian</a> in 2019 over their ties to Low, who sought to boost his credibility and image by associating with and giving large financial gifts to some of the world&#8217;s biggest stars.
Low financed DiCaprio&#8217;s hit 2013 movie &#8220;Wolf of Wall Street&#8221; after the two met at a nightclub, Bloomberg News <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2023-03-02/leonardo-dicaprio-kim-kardashian-grilled-for-1mdb-secrets-fbi-documents-show">reported</a>. When presented with past communications that he had with Low, including emails, DiCaprio claimed that he did not remember writing the messages and that they didn&#8217;t sound like something that he would write.
DiCaprio and Low worked together of a variety of business ventures and Low continued to contact DiCaprio even after federal authorities announced that they were seizing his assets. The two men were reportedly so close that their mothers met.
Low and Kardashian first got connected when he paid her $50,000 to appear at a red carpet event in Las Vegas in 2009. Eventually the two partied and gambled together frequently, including an awkward incident where he gifted her hundreds of thousands of dollars of chips after she stayed up and gambled with him in Las Vegas. Kardashian walked out of the casino with a trash bag containing roughly $250,000 in cash.
“Kardashian put the trash bag full of cash in her carry-on bag and boarded a Southwest Airlines flight back to Los Angeles,” FBI agents wrote. She later collected the other $100,000 in cash from the remaining chips that she had after she returned to Las Vegas during a later trip.

There’s been a lot of outrage over the rumors that <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/leonardo-dicaprio">Leonardo DiCaprio</a>, 48, is <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/relationships">dating</a> a 19-year-old.
Fans have been keeping a close eye on the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment">actor</a> since he broke up with model Camila Morrone shortly after her 25th birthday. It seemed that everyone was joking that DiCaprio had a strict age cap when it came to dating, no matter how old he got. To date, he’s reportedly never seriously dated any woman older than 25.
Those jokes took a serious turn last week when DiCaprio was spotted with Israeli model Eden Polani at a Los Angeles release party for Ebony Riley’s new EP, per <a href="https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/stephaniesoteriou/leonardo-dicaprio-eden-polani-david-harbour-age-gap">Buzzfeed News</a>. 
Now social media users are reacting strongly to the idea of these two dating, pointing out how significant the 29-year age gap really is. But just as many people argue that 19-year-olds should be free to date who they want, and that any young woman dating a millionaire celebrity might be using him, too.
“Leonardo DiCaprio’s girlfriend is so young her high school experience was interrupted by COVID 19,” one viral <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@samehoodies/video/7197084535329180933">TikTok</a> reaction says.
Another TikTok user opted for an analogy with “The Last Of Us” stars Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsay.
“If you want to grasp that age gap a little bit more by seeing it in different people here you go, they’re 19, he’s 47,” the social media user said, sharing a photo of the actors together. “Leo’s girlfriend is 19, Leo is 48. It’s off by one year but it just really shows how f***ing nasty that is.&#8221;
Viewers in the comments also pointed out that the age gap between DiCaprio and Polani is the same as the one between David Harbour and Millie Bobby Brown in “Stranger Things.”
But others defended the relationship, or at the very least, pointed out the hypocrisy of being outraged.
“There seems to be a lot of outrage at Leonardo DiCaprio for &#8216;preying on&#8217; a 19 yr old woman&#8211;but not a peep is said about the woman&#8217;s taking advantage of his success &amp; status,” one Twitter user shared. “Why assume she&#8217;s the one being exploited?”
“Why are people upset that a 19 year old is dating Leonardo DiCaprio when they praise 18 year olds for selling their bodies on onlyfans to ‘get that bag?’ The 19 year old is still getting rich and famous,” another person wrote.

He’s currently dating 37-year-old former model Kenna Scott, per <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/leonardo-dicaprio-has-lorenzo-lamas-daughter-23-smitten-actor-shares-cautionary-tale">Fox News</a>.
DiCaprio has been making headlines after breaking up with actress Camila Morrone just as she turned 25, which inspired a lot of backlash since it seemed the actor refused to date any women older than 25.
Lamas followed up with another interview, saying his daughter isn’t exclusively dating DiCaprio or in any kind of serious relationship.  
The actor said his daughter is &#8220;friends&#8221; with the “Titanic” star and they were together in a &#8220;social environment.”
“They were seen one time in West Hollywood at a club,&#8221; Lamas explained. &#8220;I mean, that is not dating.&#8221;
&#8220;Yeah, smitten, but they’re not dating,” he continued. “She’s fond of him, obviously. But, they’re not dating, and she does not want that out there because that would be really bad. It’d be embarrassing for her if he should happen to read something that said that they’re dating and they’re not.&#8221;
&#8220;They’re just friends, but she is smitten, of course,&#8221; he went on. &#8220;And that was my cautionary tale to her: Just take one step at a time. But as of now, they’re not an item. They’re not exclusive to each other.&#8221;
