<p>&#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/yellowstone" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Yellowstone</a>&#8221; star Piper Perabo disputed the idea that the hit Paramount drama is just a &#8220;red-state&#8221; show and said she thinks both sides of the political aisle are represented.</p>
<p>The 46-year-old actress, who plays an activist named Summer on the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kevin-costner" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kevin Costner</a>-lead series, admitted that she and show creator <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/yellowstone-creator-taylor-sheridan-laughs-at-the-idea-of-series-being-a-red-state-show">Taylor Sheridan</a> &#8220;don&#8217;t always agree politically,&#8221; according to <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-features/yellowstone-piper-perabo-midseason-finale-summer-interview-season-5-1235290363/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Hollywood Reporter</a>, but added she thinks the show proves that those on both sides have more in common than not.</p>
<p>&#8220;But what I like about doing it [Yellowstone] is that Taylor and I don&#8217;t always agree politically,&#8221; Perabo explained.</p>
<p>&#8220;And through knowing each other socially and making this show, we realize that we fight for a lot more common things than we argue about,&#8221; she added. &#8220;I feel like that&#8217;s happening with John [Costner&#8217;s character] and Summer, and I would hope we can have that happen in America.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;So to be part of the conversation where people are trying to see what common good we can work on together, and then we&#8217;ll deal with maybe the more complicated issues once we&#8217;ve got all the stuff we agree on settled?&#8221; Perabo continued. &#8220;That&#8217;s pretty cool.&#8221;</p>

<p>The &#8220;Covert Affairs&#8221; star said that as someone who is &#8220;politically active and an activist,&#8221; she wants to find &#8220;that common ground&#8221; on things bigger than &#8220;Daylight Saving Time.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;I want to find the more complicated common ground. And I feel like &#8216;Yellowstone&#8217; does that,&#8221; the actress shared, noting that much of the year, she lives in a very rural community in Western Montana. The actress noted that she follows the politics and issues people are concerned about where she lives.</p>
<p>&#8220;Some people see the show one way, and some the other,&#8221; she added. &#8220;I think there are a lot of both sides in &#8216;Yellowstone.&#8217; Almost no show has as many Native American leads as &#8216;Yellowstone&#8217; does, except for &#8216;Reservation Dogs.&#8217; And to me, that&#8217;s very cool and modern and diverse. So there are a lot of things where I think &#8216;Yellowstone&#8217; is bigger than just one color.&#8221;</p>
