&#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/yellowstone">Yellowstone</a>&#8220; actor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">Cole Hauser</a> shared his thoughts on the final episodes of the popular drama, saying it’s “different” from prior seasons.
Season 5 is scheduled to be released in November. Hauser, who plays Rip Wheeler on the show, talked with Fox News Digital after wrapping up filming.
&#8220;God, I just literally finished it 10 days ago, and I&#8217;ve been thinking about what the season means,&#8221; the 49-year-old actor said. &#8220;The last seven years of doing this <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment">show</a>, and [showrunner Taylor Sheridan] is just such an amazing writer, and he&#8217;s just done a great job again of trying to wrap this thing up.&#8221;
He added, &#8220;Not into a perfect bow, it never really is with ‘Yellowstone,’ but it&#8217;s some really dramatic stuff and it&#8217;s heartfelt. It&#8217;s different than past seasons, certainly, but in a good way. So, I&#8217;m excited for the audience in the ‘Yellowstone’ world to check it out and, hopefully, they love it. That&#8217;s all you can hope for.&#8221;
The big change for Season 5 is that Dutton family patriarch John Dutton, Rip’s boss and the father of his love interest Beth, is not part of the storyline. The role was played by Kevin Costner for all the previous seasons of “Yellowstone.”

Hauser said he enjoyed working with Costner, telling Fox News, “In my opinion, he&#8217;s one of those guys that comes to work and he&#8217;s always laid the wood. You know what I mean? He&#8217;s somebody that everybody looks up to or has looked up to. I’ve enjoyed every bit of working with him.&#8221;
Costner left to work on his passion project, the film series &#8220;Horizon&#8221; that so far has had lackluster results at the box office. &#8220;I wanted to work more than once a year and it was important that I made room for &#8216;Yellowstone&#8217; and made room for &#8216;Horizon,&#8217; but people ran through deadlines. They were busy; they had a lot to do,&#8221; the actor explained during an interview on &#8220;CBS Mornings&#8221; in June. He said he&#8217;d return to &#8220;Yellowstone&#8221; if &#8220;the story is going the right way.&#8221;
Despite the series coming to an end, there are rumors that a new iteration of “Yellowstone” will continue. Hauser said he’d be on board if that happened. 
&#8220;I can&#8217;t comment right now, but I mean, listen, in a perfect world, I think it would be amazing to see this thing go on, but there&#8217;s a lot of different people involved in that decision,&#8221; he told the outlet. &#8220;I&#8217;m a hired gun. I ain&#8217;t a producer, I ain&#8217;t the studio head, just a hired gun. But I hope so. I hope it really happens because it would be fun.”

“<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/yellowstone">Yellowstone</a>” fans finally got their first peek at what the last season of the hit Paramount series will look like following the departure of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kevin-costner">Kevin Costner</a> from the show.
In a 30-second <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PXuYlrORpc">teaser clip</a> shared by the Paramount network on <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PXuYlrORpc">YouTube</a>, a voice over of Costner can be heard while images of the Dutton family and ranch come across the screen, giving audiences an idea what to expect when the second half of Season 5 comes out in November — two years after the first half of Season 5 debuted, the <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/yellowstone-trailer-season5b-1235987773/">Hollywood Reporter</a> reported.
“Legacy … we build something worth having, someone&#8217;s going to try and take it,” Costner, who played head of family character John Dutton, said.
We then hear Jaime Dutton’s character (played by Wes Bentley) issue a warning to rival sister Beth Dutton (played by Kelly Reilly), “You destroy me, you destroy yourself.”
Reilly’s character replied, “Unlike you, I keep my promises.”

The trailer dropped days after reports surfaced that Reilly and co-star Cole Hauser could be staying on board for another season despite all the reports that the original Dutton story with Costner will end after part 2 of season 5, <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/yellowstone-season-6-kelly-reilly-cole-hauser-1235985253/">THR</a> noted. Paramount has yet to respond to the report.
The “Waterworld” star previously told <a href="https://www.gq.com/story/kevin-costner-gq-cover-story">GQ</a> that a scheduling conflict had nothing to do with his departure from the series amid reports that blamed him for halting production on the second half of the season due to filming for his western movie “Horizon: An American Saga-Chapter 1,” followed by the writers’ and actors’ strikes, as previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/yellowstone-fans-get-major-update-about-series-return">reported</a>.
“They still haven’t shot it. As far as I know,” the actor said. “The scripts never came. And so then, at one point, they said to me that we don’t have an ending or anything.”
Costner said he offered options for killing off his character so he could make both work, saying, “‘Well, if you want to kill me, if you want to do something like that,’ I said, ‘I have a week before I start. I’ll do what you want to do.’”
The “Dances with Wolves” star said despite everything that has happened, he would be open to returning to the series, <a href="https://deadline.com/2024/05/yellowstone-season-5-part-2-release-date-cast-1235924863/?taid=664c12b263b61f0001608d43">Deadline</a> noted.
Paramount released a statement later to <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/yellowstone-star-kevin-costner-offered-to-be-killed-off-hit-show-ill-do-what-you-want-to-do">Fox News</a> about Costner’s GQ comments and said that “Kevin has been a big part of ‘Yellowstone’s’ success.”
“While we had hoped that we would continue working with him, unfortunately, we could not find a window that worked for him, all the other talent, and our production needs in order to move forward together,” the statement read. “We respect that Kevin has prioritized his new film series and we wish him the best.”
The “Yellowstone” series focuses on the “Dutton family who controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States. Amid shifting alliances, unsolved murders, open wounds and hard-earned respect — the ranch is in constant conflict with those it borders — an expanding town, an Indian reservation, and America’s first national park,” <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/yellowstone-trailer-season5b-1235987773/">THR</a> noted.

Michelle Pfeiffer will lead the upcoming “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/yellowstone-star-hints-at-spin-off-series-dealing-with-two-popular-characters-romance" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Yellowstone</a>” sequel series as it begins to take shape with the conclusion of the original series coming later this year.
On Thursday, Paramount announced that the 66-year-old actress will both star in and produce the next installment of the hit series currently titled “Madison,” <a href="https://people.com/yellowstone-spinoff-madison-featuring-michelle-pfeiffer-announced-8692439">People</a> magazine reported.
“‘Madison’ will follow a New York City family living in the Madison River valley of central Montana and is a ‘heartfelt study of grief and human connection,'&#8221; according to a press release.
“Michelle Pfeiffer is a remarkable talent who imbues every role with emotional depth, authenticity and grace,&#8221; Chris McCarthy, the co-CEO of Paramount Global and President/CEO of Showtime &amp; MTV Entertainment Studios, said in a statement.
“She is the perfect anchor to the newest chapter of the ‘Yellowstone’ universe, &#8216;Madison,&#8217; from the brilliant mind of <a href="https://people.com/kevin-costner-would-work-with-yellowstone-creator-taylor-sheridan-again-8643428">Taylor Sheridan</a>,” the statement added.
The series will be the 7th spinoff from the original Kevin Costner-lead show that debuted in 2018 and was a massive success. Spinoffs include the prequel “1883,” “Lawman: Bass Reeves,” another prequel titled “1923,” a limited series that’s yet to air, as well as three other spinoffs that have been announced but not much else is known about them &#8212; Matthew McConaughey is involved in one and there’s to be another prequel series called “1944.”

Michelle Pfeiffer To Anchor Next ‘Yellowstone’ Sequel Series

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kevin-costner" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kevin Costner’s</a> second part to his western movie “Horizon: An American Saga” has been pulled from theaters ahead of its August release.
In a statement from Costner’s Territory Pictures and distribution partner New Line Cinema, it was announced that “Horizon: An American Saga-Chapter 2” will not be getting a theatrical release on August 16 after the first chapter has struggled at the box office.
“Territory Pictures and New Line Cinema have decided not to release ‘Horizon: Chapter 2’ on August 16 in order to give audiences a greater opportunity to discover the first installment of ‘Horizon’ over the coming weeks, including on PVOD and Max,” a spokesperson for New Line Cinema told the <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/kevin-costner-horizon-2-removed-from-theatrical-calendar-1235937513/">Hollywood Reporter</a>.
“We thank our exhibition partners for their continued support as moviegoers across the U.S. discover the film in its theatrical run,” the spokesperson added.

A second statement from Territory Pictures read, “The audience response to Horizon, and enthusiasm for seeing our story continue in Horizon 2, has been incredibly gratifying.”
“Kevin made this film for people who love movies and who wanted to go on a journey,” it added. “The support that we have received from film fans, and the theater owners, as they experience the first chapter of this saga only serves to reinforce our belief in them and the films that we have made, and we thank them for coming on board for the ride.”
“We welcome the opportunity for that window to be expanded as we know it will only serve to enhance the experience of seeing ‘Horizon 2,’” the statement concluded.
Costner’s first of four planned films in the “Horizon: An American Saga” dropped in June. So far, it has struggled at the box office, the <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/kevin-costner-horizon-box-office-2-1235935961/">Hollywood Reporter</a> reported. The film opened the weekend of June 28-30 earning only $11 million at the domestic box office by the end of the weekend, THR noted. 
By the second weekend out, it had a domestic total of $22.2 million with a price tag of $100 million to make,<a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/despicable-me-4-box-office-opening-july-4-1235940188/"> the outlet</a> noted. It also earned only another $3 million overseas.
To help make the movie more profitable, the film will not only be released in theaters but also debut in the home on Premium VOD as early as next week, THR noted. There is no timetable yet as far as when it will be released on the streaming platform Max.
The “Yellowstone” star previously downplayed the importance of box office success ahead of its release.

In a conversation posted online by the “Happy Sad Confused” <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSopE4p8WaQ&amp;t=1738s">podcast</a> with Josh Horowitz, the 69-year-old actor said that even though his films are geared toward male audiences, he does make sure his movies contain &#8220;strong women characters&#8221; to carry his stories.
&#8220;If I look back at my career, the one thing I have,&#8221; Costner explained, “I make movies for men. That’s what I do. But I won’t make a movie unless I have strong women characters, and that’s how I’ve conducted my career. And I think that’s why I have a good following.&#8221;
&#8220;I thank you women for dragging your men here. It was a Western, after all,&#8221; he added.
&#8220;Whenever you start writing … you&#8217;d go, ‘Where’s the woman?’&#8221; Costner continued, talking about the process of his script writing for his new movie. &#8220;It just drove the story in every plot line. It just seemed to me to be so easy. I mean, I just hardly couldn’t conceive of a scene that didn’t involve women or a young girl raised by a strong woman.&#8221;

By the end of the weekend, the movie landed in third place behind Pixar’s “Inside Out” sequel and “A Quiet Place: Day One.&#8221;

“Somewhere along the line they wanted to change things,” the “Field of Dreams” star said. “They wanted to do 5A and 5B … affected ‘Horizon.’ I was going to do my movie ‘Horizon’ and leave that show, do my movie, then do B.”
“A show I was only doing once a year I was now doing twice,” he said, adding. “We did negotiate. There were issues about creative. I tried to break the log jam. They walked away.”

After months of speculation from fans, actor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kevin-costner">Kevin Costner</a> clarified that he won&#8217;t return to the Paramount Network hit drama series “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/yellowstone">Yellowstone</a>.”
The 69-year-old posted a video to social media on Thursday night making his intentions clear. 
“I just want to reach out and let you know that after this long year and a half of working on Horizon and doing all the things that’s required, and thinking about ‘Yellowstone,’ that beloved series that I love, that I know you love. I just realized that I’m not going to be able to continue, season five or into the future,” Costner said. 
He continued, calling the Yellowstone series “something that really changed me.” 
The actor said, “I loved it and I know you loved it, and I just wanted to let you know that I won’t be returning. I love the relationship we’ve been able to develop, and I’ll see you at the movies.”

The “Dances with Wolves” star ignited speculation earlier this week during an appearance on TODAY. At the time, Costner made it sound like he was open to returning to the series if it made sense to do so, as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kevin-costner-says-under-right-circumstances-he-would-love-to-go-back-to-yellowstone">reported</a>.

“Saying there’s a chance, there’s always a chance,” he added. “I love the thing. You’ve got to be really clear about that.”
Last spring, Costner said he wasn’t ruling out returning to his role as family patriarch John Dutton after rumored fights over contract obligations. The actor told GQ that he had initially agreed to film seasons five, six, and seven of the show but didn&#8217;t think it was fair for season five to get split into two parts, essentially turning it into an additional season.  
Most recently, the actor has been all in on his passion project that has been decades in the making. “Horizon” part one got mixed reviews at its Cannes debut and is set to hit theaters nationwide on June 28. The second installment will follow close behind on August 16.

Actor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kevin-costner">Kevin Costner</a> said he’s open to returning to the hit Western series “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/yellowstone">Yellowstone</a>” if it makes sense to do so.
The 69-year-old star shared his thoughts during a Monday appearance on <a href="https://www.today.com/popculture/news/kevin-costner-return-yellowstone-rcna157475">TODAY</a>. 
&#8220;I’ve supported that thing and I’ve loved it,&#8221; Costner said of the Taylor Sheridan drama series. &#8220;It’s been really important to me. I would love to go back under the right circumstances I think that all of us want. For me, it really needs to be the right circumstances.&#8221;
&#8220;Saying there’s a chance, there’s always a chance,&#8221; he added. &#8220;I love the thing. You’ve got to be really clear about that.&#8221;
Costner has previously indicated he is open to making a return to playing family patriarch John Dutton after some squabbles over contract obligations. The actor told <a href="https://www.gq.com/story/kevin-costner-gq-cover-story">GQ</a> in May that he had signed on for seasons five, six, and seven but was thrown for a loop when the fifth season was split into two parts.
Following speculation over why the actor exited the series, Paramount put out a statement in February 2023 stating, “Kevin Costner is a big part of ‘Yellowstone’ and we hope that’s the case for a long time to come.&#8221;
Costner was also committed to working on his passion project, a three-part Western film series called “Horizon.” The actor wrote, produced, directed, and stars in the project.

“Their big plan was to suddenly do eight now and then in the fall do eight more,” Costner said at the time. “I said, ‘I have a contract to do “Horizon,” and I have people and money.’ I think there was a belief that I couldn’t get it mounted, but I didn’t really care what anybody believed.”
Meanwhile, the first installment of “Horizon,” which Costner financed mostly himself, has struggled to gain traction since its premiere at Cannes. Film one will open nationwide in theaters beginning June 28, while the second movie will follow on August 16.
“Horizon: An American Saga Chapter 1” currently has a 43% critic rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Paramount+ announced that production has finally gotten underway on Season 5 of the hit series &#8220;Yellowstone&#8221; — on the same day that <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kevin-costner">Kevin Costner</a> revealed he offered to kill off his character.
On Monday, the network announced that filming for the second half of the Taylor Sheridan-created final season had begun in Montana after more than a year hiatus, the <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/yellowstone-starts-production-final-season-5-episodes-1235904242/">Hollywood Reporter</a> reported.
The announcement came the same day a Costner interview dropped in which he talked about the end of the series and revealed whether he would be part of the last half of Season 5.
Speaking to <a href="https://www.gq.com/story/kevin-costner-gq-cover-story">GQ</a>, the 69-year-old actor talked about his western movie “Horizon: An American Saga” and said &#8220;I loved that show [Yellowstone] and I went and helped [at Cannes Film Festival years ago]. And Taylor [Sheridan] had a really great take on what this was. But I went over there. I’ve helped that show in a hundred different ways.&#8221;

Costner recently said that a scheduling conflict had nothing to do with his departure from the series amid reports that blamed him for halting production on the second half of the season due to filming for his western movie, followed by the writers’ and actors’ strikes, as previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/yellowstone-fans-get-major-update-about-series-return">reported</a>. 
&#8220;They still haven’t shot it. As far as I know,&#8221; the actor said. &#8220;The scripts never came. And so then, at one point, they said to me that we don’t have an ending or anything.&#8221; 
Costner said he offered options for killing off his character so he could make both work, saying, &#8220;‘Well, if you want to kill me, if you want to do something like that,’ I said, ‘I have a week before I start. I’ll do what you want to do.’&#8221; 
The “Dances with Wolves” star said despite everything that has happened he would be open to returning to the series, <a href="https://deadline.com/2024/05/yellowstone-season-5-part-2-release-date-cast-1235924863/?taid=664c12b263b61f0001608d43">Deadline</a> noted.
“If the writing’s there and I’m happy with it, I’m open to that. But I took a beating over these guys not speaking up for me and allowing crazy stories to come out,” Costner said. 
“I’m not happy about that. But if the writing is there, I will be there too,” he added. “It’s just that simple: Paramount and 101 Studios mismanaged this.” 
Paramount released a statement to <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/yellowstone-star-kevin-costner-offered-to-be-killed-off-hit-show-ill-do-what-you-want-to-do">Fox News</a> about Costner’s GQ comments and said that &#8220;Kevin has been a big part of ‘Yellowstone’s’ success.”
“While we had hoped that we would continue working with him, unfortunately, we could not find a window that worked for him, all the other talent, and our production needs in order to move forward together,” the statement read. “We respect that Kevin has prioritized his new film series and we wish him the best.&#8221; 
It is unclear how many episodes the final series will have, with Sheridan previously telling THR, “If I think it takes 10 episodes to wrap it up, they’ll give me 10. It’ll be as long as it needs to be.”  The highly-anticipated end of the series is expected to come out in November.

The 31-year-old Grammy winner <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/yellowstone-star-lainey-wilson-credits-long-line-farmers-work-ethic">discussed</a> the value of hard work while speaking with Fox News Digital ahead of the 2024 <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment">ACM Awards</a>. 
&#8220;Yes, my parents are, they&#8217;re the ones to blame. They&#8217;re the ones to blame for all of this,&#8221; Wilson joked. &#8220;They have truly supported me from the beginning.&#8221; 
“I truly do think it is from being from a long line of farmers. I mean, on my mom&#8217;s side and my daddy&#8217;s side. They rolled their sleeves up. They got to work every single day and had good years and bad years, but at the end of the day, they loved it,&#8221; the “Yellowstone” actress continued. 
Wilson told the outlet, &#8220;So that meant that they got up and they did it again, and they&#8217;d fall down and they&#8217;d do it again. They just had no other option and my daddy has always tried to remind me that he worked really hard, but he&#8217;s not just working hard for himself. He&#8217;s working hard for me and my sister and my mama and my sister&#8217;s kids and one day my kids,&#8221; Wilson continued. 
The singer-songwriter also said she believes it’s &#8220;really important to keep…in mind&#8221; that hard work is &#8220;just life.&#8221; 
&#8220;It kind of takes a little bit of pressure off of you when you take yourself out of it, I guess it makes working hard a lot easier,&#8221; Wilson said.
She also explained how her song “Hang Tight Honey” was inspired by her upbringing and her beloved small town of Baskin, Louisiana.

“Well, I haven’t felt good about it the last year, what with the way they’ve talked about it,” Costner said. “It wasn’t truthful.”
“So now I’m talking about a little bit about what the real truth of it was,” he added. “I made a contract for seasons five, six and seven [of Yellowstone]. In February, after a two- or three-month negotiation, they made another contract.”
“They wanted to redo that one, and instead of seasons six and seven, it was 5A and 5B, and maybe we’ll do six,” Costner continued. “They weren’t able to make those. ‘Horizon’ was set in the middle, but ‘Yellowstone’ was first position. I fit [‘Horizon’] into the gaps. They just kept moving their gaps.”

“<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/yellowstone">Yellowstone</a>” star Cole Hauser appeared to hint that a spin-off series was being talked about – one that could involve the romance of two popular characters, Hauser&#8217;s Rip Wheeler and Kelly Reilly’s Beth Dutton.
Speaking to <a href="https://www.countryliving.com/life/entertainment/a60574841/cole-hauser-free-rein-interview/">Country Living</a>, the 49-year-old actor talked about the end of the current Paramount Network’s hit storyline — lead by actor Kevin Costner — and what could be next for his story. The Taylor Sheridan series will end at the conclusion of the second half of Season 5, which has been reported as happening later this year.

“I’m so focused on finishing ‘Yellowstone’ the way it needs to be finished right now — well, just the show itself,” Hauser said. “We’ll see where that leads.”
“But I know that there’s some stuff on the horizon when it comes to Taylor’s ideas for Kelly Reilly and myself, and some of the other cast,” he added. “I’m excited to see where he goes creatively with that.”
“But right now it’s just: Let’s finish strong; let’s do the best we can,” Hauser continued.
However, <a href="https://collider.com/yellowstone-spinoff-update-kelly-reilly/">Reilly</a> also seemed to hint otherwise about spinoffs in a recent interview.
“I just care about finishing [the main show] with as much care and as much passion and as much love as I can muster to put into it,” Reilly said..
“That’s what I care about,” she added. “I’m sort of prepping for that now [and] that’s my tunnel vision thing that I care about most. And what goes on beyond that?”
“There are discussions, you know,” Reilly continued. “Don’t believe everything you read. It’s just nonsense. But we’re gonna, you know, let’s wait and see. I don’t have an answer right now. But we’ll see.”
And as far as whether or not fans will actually get to see “Yellowstone” this year, Hauser told Country living, “God-willing — your lips to God&#8217;s ears.”
Part two of the fifth and final season of the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/yellowstone-fans-get-major-update-about-series-return">Paramount+ series</a> is expected to finally come out in November, after the fifth season was originally supposed to return in 2023.

One of the new shows has a working title of “2024,” which will reportedly put the Duttons in the present day. The other is expected to follow in the footsteps of the two earlier “Yellowstone” prequels, “1883” and “1923,” with a current title of “1944.” However, no information about what either series will contain has yet to be released.
