Wynonna Judd talked about how her relationship with sister Ashley Judd has changed for the better following the death of country legend and mom Naomi Judd in April.

During the 58-year-old country music singer’s appearance Monday on the “Today with Hoda & Jenna” show, Judd opened up about still reeling from her mother’s death. She also said that she and her sister are “closer than we’ve been in a long time.”

“Well, when I became an orphan, I took a real strong look around me and said, ‘OK. Forgiveness. Forgiveness is key,'” Wynonna shared.  “Ashley and I are closer than we’ve been in a long time. So, get off our backs there, press. We love each other. And we show up for each other.”

“We don’t agree on much, but we support one another, and we agree to disagree,” she added. “And we’ve had some tough conversations lately about ‘What are we going to do?’ now that we have each other.”

“I feel a lot more tender than I did, and I was always tender-hearted, but I feel even more so now,” Judd continued. “You’re such a strong, yet tender, person. You know what it’s like to feel the loss and the love at the same time. Oftentimes, it’s joy and sorrow at the same time.”

Earlier in the day on the “Today” show, the “I Saw The Light” hitmaker said she’s “somewhere between hell and hallelujah,” as she deals with the loss of their mother.

“And these shows are healing me, one show at a time,” Wynonna shared about the tour she and her mom had previously announced doing together. “And all my friends are coming and it’s like the greatest party you throw yourself before the end. I feel like I’m doing a victory lap and the fans are watching me and they’re for me because they grew up with me.”

The “Why Not Me” hitmaker killed herself in April after a lengthy battle with mental health problems, as The Daily Wire previously reported.

“She obviously was suffering, and, as such, her days up until that moment were hurtful to her,” Wynonna’s sister,  Ashley shared during a “Good Morning America” appearance.
