Country star Wynonna Judd admitted she broke down while rehearsing on the tour she was supposed to participate in with her mom Naomi Judd before the late-star’s suicide earlier this year.
The 58-year-old country singer was back practicing on stage recently, and she shared that hearing the part of the show when her mom’s voice would sync up with hers was just too much, the Associated Press reported over the weekend.
“It’s devastatingly beautiful to go back to the past and relive some of these memories,” Judd shared on tour. “Yesterday I was in rehearsal and there’s a part in the show where they sync up Mom singing with me. And I turned around, and I just lost it.”
The country star and her mom announced the final tour of The Judds weeks before news surfaced about Naomi’s sudden death at age 76. On April 30th, the country music legend took her life.
The 11-stop tour kicked off September 30th in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It will continue through places like Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and lastly on October 29 in Lexington, Kentucky.
Wynonna will be joined by fellow country stars like Faith Hill, Trisha Yearwood, Kelsea Ballerini, and more.
During Friday’s show, the “No One Else On Earth” hitmaker was emotional as she sang alongside singer Brandi Carlisle and thanked fans for coming out to honor her late mom, American Songwriter.com noted.
In a clip from the show, the singer sang The Judd’s 1990 monster hit “Love Can Build a Bridge” along to a video playing in the background showing old footage of her and her mom performing on stage together, the outlet noted.

It ended with a clip of the late-country legend telling her daughter, “I believe in the power of love, and I believe there is always hope.”
“Thank you mama for writing this song,” Wynonna told the crowd on tour. “I’ll continue to sing it for all the days of my life.”
The “Why Not Me” hitmaker killed herself in April after a lengthy battle with mental health problems, as The Daily Wire previously reported.
“She obviously was suffering, and, as such, her days up until that moment were hurtful to her,” daughter Ashley Judd said in a “Good Morning America” appearance.
