<p>Daily Wire host Michael Knowles paid tribute to Charlie Kirk after the influential conservative commentator was assassinated while speaking at a college event in Utah on Wednesday.</p>
<p>Knowles said that Kirk — a 31-year-old Christian, husband, and father of two small children — had a &#8220;generational voice&#8221; and that &#8220;everybody&#8221; knew he was on a path to the presidency.</p>
<p>&#8220;Charlie was a big part of how President Trump was elected in 2024, and how he was elected in 2016, for that matter — a generational voice in politics,&#8221; Knowles <a href="https://x.com/realDailyWire/status/1965882552893235667">said</a>.</p>
<p>&#8220;The first thing that comes to my mind — beyond the sadness for his family, for his wife, for his young kids, his millions and millions of admirers and his many friends — is that Charlie Kirk would have been president,&#8221; Knowles added. &#8220;Charlie Kirk would have been president. His friends knew it, his many, many admirers knew it, and his enemies, to whom he was always so gracious, they knew it too. Everybody knew it.&#8221;</p>
<p>The Daily Wire host said that Kirk was extremely skilled, and &#8220;exemplified virtue&#8221; through his prudence, discipline, fairness, and willingness to engage with opposing viewpoints in hostile territory.</p>
<p>It was during another event where Kirk was willing to discuss politics with those who opposed his positions that the conservative commentator was assassinated. Kirk was quickly given medical attention and rushed to a hospital, but President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday afternoon that the &#8220;Great, and even Legendary&#8221; Kirk had died. Kirk&#8217;s death was confirmed by his organization, Turning Point USA.</p>
<p>Kirk burst onto the political scene after founding Turning Point USA in 2012 at just 18 years old. His organization has helped spur a conservative revival among young voters in the country, with Kirk playing a major part in President Trump&#8217;s 2024 re-election victory by registering voters on college campuses.</p>
<p>&#8220;He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us,&#8221; Trump said.</p>
<p>Despite his political success and fame, Kirk prioritized faith and family in his life. He is survived by his wife, Erika, and two children.</p>

<p>Daily Wire Editor Emeritus Ben Shapiro said that the killing of influential conservative Charlie Kirk is the &#8220;worst political assassination in a half century in this country.&#8221;</p>
<p>Shapiro, <a href="https://x.com/realDailyWire/status/1965882552893235667">speaking</a> with Daily Wire host Michael Knowles about the tragic death of Kirk, said that &#8220;the actual full-scale murder of a 31-year-old superstar like Charlie for the great crime of saying things on college campuses that people didn&#8217;t want to hear&#8221; shows that &#8220;something needs to change.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;There have been assassination attempts on presidents. Obviously, Ronald Reagan was shot, there was an attempted assassination of Donald Trump. Both of them lived,&#8221; Shapiro said, adding that Kirk&#8217;s assassination is &#8220;impossible to process.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;This is the end of outdoor events, in terms of political events. It&#8217;s over,&#8221; the Daily Wire editor emeritus said. &#8220;We saw the president of the United States almost shot in the head during an outdoor public event. We saw Charlie Kirk murdered in front of all of us at an outdoor public event. That&#8217;s over. &#8230; Something is deeply, deeply broken in this country for somebody like Charlie Kirk to just be assassinated for the great crime of speaking what used to just be known as traditional conservative values.&#8221;</p>
<p>Shapiro argued that those who disagreed with Kirk need to step up and push back on violent responses to opposing views.</p>
<p>&#8220;I don&#8217;t believe I&#8217;m exaggerating when I&#8217;m saying this shakes the foundations of the country,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Because if we cannot trust each other to have normal conversations in public about basic issues, about governance and policy and values, how the hell are we supposed to have a country together? It&#8217;s not possible.&#8221;</p>
<p>Kirk gained prominence after founding Turning Point USA in 2012 at just 18 years old. In recent years, he would often go viral for his debates on college campuses, when he would respectfully engage with leftist students and challenge their worldview. In 2024, Kirk helped push President Donald Trump over the finish line, registering students to vote and advocating for Trump&#8217;s policies.</p>
<p>In a <a href="https://x.com/benshapiro/status/1965882795210977411">post</a> on social media, Shapiro said he was &#8220;utterly stunned and heartbroken and sick to my soul today.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;It is unimaginable to write these words,&#8221; Shapiro added. &#8220;I met Charlie Kirk when he was 18 years old, a young man so eager and determined that I immediately turned to a friend and said, &#8216;That kid is going to be the head of the RNC one day.&#8217; Charlie became even bigger and more important than that. It was a privilege to watch this principled man stand up for his beliefs and create the single most important conservative political organization in America. But more importantly, Charlie was a good man, a man who believed in right and wrong, who stood by his Biblical values. All of us will miss him, and I can’t imagine the pain of his beautiful young family, and we must all pray for them. And we must pick up the baton where Charlie left it, fighting for the things he believed in so passionately. And we must fight for a better America &#8211; an America where good people can speak truth and debate passionately without fear of a bullet. Ben Shapiro Says Charlie Kirk Slaying Is Worst Political Assassination In 50 Years

<p>Texas A&amp;M President Mark Welsh announced on Tuesday that he directed the school’s provost to fire an English professor who <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-texas-am-student-booted-from-lecture-after-objecting-to-professor-pushing-radical-gender-theory?author=Zach+Jewell&amp;category=undefined&amp;elementPosition=6&amp;row=3&amp;rowHeadline=Latest+News&amp;rowType=Vertical+Carousel&amp;title=WATCH%3A+Texas+A%26M+Student+Booted+From+Lecture+After+Objecting+To+Professor+Pushing+Radical+Gender+Theory">pushed leftist ideas</a> on gender and sex during a children’s literature course over the summer.</p>
<p>In a <a href="https://president.tamu.edu/messages/an-update-from-president-mark-a-welsh-iii.html">statement</a> posted on social media and the university’s website, Welsh also announced that the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and the Head of the English Department would be removed from their administrative positions. The decision comes after videos, obtained and shared by Republican Texas State Rep. Brian Harrison and first reported by The Daily Wire, showed a student confronting Dr. Melissa McCoul over her comments on transgenderism and other LGBT issues during a lecture.</p>
<p>After the student complained about the LGBT themes in the children’s literature course, Welsh said that he worked with students and administrators to make changes and “ensure this course content does not continue in future semesters.” The president, however, stated that despite his directive, Texas A&amp;M “continued to teach content that was inconsistent with the published course description for another course this fall.”</p>
<p>The video of the student’s interaction with the professor was posted on social media after Welsh met with students and administrators to discuss course descriptions and materials.</p>
<p>“This summer, a children’s literature course contained content that did not align with any reasonable expectation of standard curriculum for the course,” said Welsh. “After this issue was raised, college and department leadership worked with students to offer alternative opportunities for students to complete the course, and made changes to ensure this course content does not continue in future semesters. At that time, I made it clear to our academic leadership that course content must match catalog descriptions for each and every one of our course sections.”</p>
<p>“However, I learned late yesterday that despite that directive, the college continued to teach content that was inconsistent with the published course description for another course this fall,” Welsh added. “As a result, I took the above administrative actions, and deans and department heads will conduct an audit of course offerings to ensure they align with the course descriptions.”</p>
<p>In one video, McCoul told the student who called her out that her teaching on transgenderism and other LGBT issues was “biologically true.” The professor then told the student that she had “the legal and ethical authority [and] professional expertise in this classroom” before telling the student, “It’s time for you to leave.”</p>

<p>Slides from the children’s literature class reviewed by The Daily Wire showed that the course material dedicated significant time to sex, gender, and “queerness,” covering the issues with a leftist slant. One slide was titled “Let’s talk gender in children’s lit!” and argued that “Childhood is the time for figuring out how to be a boy, girl, man, woman, or another gender.” The class also required students to read a comic book story titled “Princess Princess Ever After,” which is about two female characters who fall in love, with the book ending with a same-sex wedding.</p>

<p>After Harrison’s social media post and The Daily Wire’s coverage, Harmeet Dhillon, the Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/doj-to-probe-texas-am-after-daily-wire-report-on-student-booted-for-opposing-lgbt-indoctrination?author=Zach+Jewell&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=4&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=DOJ+To+Probe+Texas+A%26M+After+Daily+Wire+Report+On+Student+Booted+For+Opposing+LGBT+%E2%80%98Indoctrination%E2%80%99">said</a> that what was uncovered at Texas A&amp;M “is deeply concerning,” adding that the DOJ’s Civil Rights division would “look into this.”</p>
<p>Harrison, who served as the chief of staff at the Department of Health and Human Services during Trump’s first term, continued to call for Welsh to be fired. On Wednesday, Harrison released more <a href="https://x.com/brianeharrison/status/1965770454989214041">audio</a> from a phone call between the Texas A&amp;M president and the student who was told to leave class after challenging the LGBT teaching. During the call, Welsh told the student that she was “picking a fight,” and defended courses that focus on LGBT issues.</p>
<p>“President Welsh is engaged in a cover up and deserves no credit,” Harrison told The Daily Wire. “He spent the past month protecting this professor, berating the student, dismissing concerns that her constitutional rights were violated when she was kicked out of class, attempting to gaslight the student into believing she was the problem, advocating for even more DEI and LGBTQ courses at A&amp;M, and has been engaged in behavior since his actions were exposed. He should be fired.”</p>

Texas A&M Fires Leftist Professor Who Lashed Out At Student Over Politics

<p>A Democrat running for Senate in Maine will host a fundraiser on September 11 at a Washington, D.C., bar that has allied with Hamas sympathizers.</p>
<p>Graham Platner, a 40-year-old Marine and Army veteran seeking to oust Republican Senator Susan Collins, scheduled a fundraiser at Exiles Bar in D.C. on 9/11. The location is an interesting choice for the anniversary of the deadly attack perpetrated by radical Islamic terrorists.</p>
<p>Exiles, located a little over a mile north of the White House, hosted an event last year with the Tahrir Institute for Middle East Policy (TIMEP), a group that <a href="https://timep.org/2024/06/27/displacement-is-the-point-contextualizing-israels-decades-of-violence-and-destruction-in-gaza-and-the-west-bank/">claims</a> that Israel started an &#8220;assault on Gaza&#8221; on October 7, 2023 — the day Hamas terrorists invaded Israel and killed around 1,200 people, taking hundreds more hostage.</p>
<p>&#8220;Israel’s most recent actions in Gaza seem to support the notion that the ultimate goal is to displace Palestinians and seize their land,&#8221; the group wrote in a June 2024 article. &#8220;Since October 7, many Israeli politicians and other powerful actors have made their territorial aspirations clear.&#8221;</p>
<p>TIMEP&#8217;s Executive Director, Mai El-Sadany, also recently <a href="https://x.com/maitelsadany/status/1933342241226924299">posted</a> on X that &#8220;Israel is making all of us less safe.&#8221;</p>
<p>During an April 18, 2024, event, Exiles Bar gifted 10% of some of its food and drink sales to TIMEP. The event was <a href="https://www.nenjp.org/calendar/2024/4/18/418-in-person-dc-530-pm-join-the-tahrir-institute-for-middle-east-policy-for-a-mena-social-night-at-exiles-bar-dc-timep">advertised</a> by the New England Network for Justice for Palestine as &#8220;an evening of food, drink, community, and solidarity.&#8221;</p>
<p>The Daily Wire reached out to Exiles Bar, requesting comment on the event with a Hamas-sympathizing group.</p>
<p>Platner has a troubling record on Israel and the Middle East. While the Democrat has <a href="https://x.com/grahamformaine/status/1958275900958785616">accused</a> Israel of committing &#8220;genocide&#8221; in Gaza, there is no public record of him condemning Hamas.</p>
<p>Shortly after the terrorist attacks of September 11, Platner argued in an op-ed that &#8220;one man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter,&#8221; the Washington Free Beacon <a href="https://freebeacon.com/democrats/democratic-maine-senate-candidate-graham-platner-compared-terrorists-to-freedom-fighters-in-post-9-11-op-ed/">reported</a> earlier this week. The op-ed was published in the Bangor Daily News.</p>
<p>The Daily Wire reached out to Platner&#8217;s campaign, seeking comment on his fundraiser at Exiles Bar and giving him an opportunity to address the 2002 op-ed.</p>
<p>Platner said in a recent <a href="https://zeteo.com/p/meet-the-disillusioned-veteran-who">interview</a> that he joined the Marines out of high school “mostly out of like a young man&#8217;s sense of duty and also a bit of a call to adventure.” He later enrolled at George Washington University, but after seeing that many of his friends were still deployed, he enlisted in the Army and deployed to Afghanistan in 2010 and 2011. Platner, however, said he &#8220;did not believe in the thing that I had taken part in.”</p>
<p>Platner launched his 2026 Senate campaign last month with a pledge to focus on universal health care, housing affordability, and ending foreign wars, NBC News <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2026-election/iraq-afghanistan-veteran-launches-democratic-campaign-sen-susan-collin-rcna225703">reported</a>. Platner said that he hopes the Democratic Party will follow in the footsteps of leftists such as Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).</p>

Dem Senate Candidate To Host 9/11 Fundraiser At D.C. Bar That Partnered With Terrorist Sympathizers

<p>Wholesale prices dropped in August, coming in significantly below what economists had expected, and led to a new record high for the S&amp;P 500 on Wednesday.</p>
<p>The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the Producer Price Index (PPI) came in at 2.6% year-over-year, far below the 3.3% rise that was forecasted, according to <a href="https://www.barrons.com/articles/ppi-wholesale-inflation-data-august-83ddcabb">Barron’s</a>. Wholesale prices dropped 0.1% on a monthly basis, which was also better than what economists were expecting, with the Dow Jones predicting a 0.3% rise, CNBC <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2025/09/10/ppi-inflation-august-2025-.html">reported</a>.</p>
<p>“Boy, I’m surprised — real progress here! 2.6% on year-over-year headline. We were expecting 3.3%!” <a href="https://x.com/RapidResponse47/status/1965761591179182133">said</a> CNBC’s Rick Santelli.</p>
<p>CNBC host Becky Quick <a href="https://x.com/RapidResponse47/status/1965762391620391046">added</a> that the inflation report was “a real shocker.”</p>
<p>The White House took a victory lap after the report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, blasting “the so-called ‘experts’” who had predicted for months that President Donald Trump’s wide-ranging tariffs would cause prices to skyrocket.</p>
<p>“The latest PPI report shows there is no inflation — wholesale prices fell and smashed economists’ expectations. President Trump has defeated Joe Biden’s inflation crisis while successfully implementing powerful tariffs, which haven’t hiked prices like the so-called ‘experts’ claimed,” said White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. “This is yet another reason for Jerome ‘Too Late’ Powell to cut the rates immediately to make everyday life more affordable for Americans.”</p>
<p>In July, the PPI increased by 0.7%, which was the highest month-over-month increase since Trump took office for his second term in January.</p>
<p>The S&amp;P 500 surged to a new record high, climbing another 0.4% after the report came out on Wednesday, according to <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2025/09/09/stock-market-today-live-updates.html">CNBC</a>. Computer software company Oracle led the S&amp;P 500 rally, gaining 40% after the company <span style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">released a surprising forecast, <a href="https://finance.yahoo.com/news/oracle-stock-soars-after-ceo-says-ai-fueled-cloud-revenue-set-to-jump-to-144-billion-154530523.html?guccounter=1&amp;guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&amp;guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAI1-i2sXMCo1_r6MGzX2KKW5v4fhoklORnC7L3nznCj71xQWTri54REsRQfjHKpN96sIT2D3X-mIe33cajfQNBG95b7PFPsaXSKelDPTr0nuCMK9FI1ly6yzT1YndXcDiYnJomDW8MBy2nenY0lb0OflSZ1kRI-fPMkS8cSzcexB" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stating</a> that it expects AI-fueled revenue to reach</span> $144 billion by its 2030 fiscal year.</p>
<p>The August inflation report was published just one week before the Federal Reserve Board of Governors meets for its September gathering, as signs indicate that policymakers may lower interest rates after months of pressure from Trump. Fed Chair Jerome Powell <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/fed-chair-jerome-powell-hints-at-possible-rate-cut-wall-street-cheers">hinted</a> last month that a rate cut could happen under current economic conditions.</p>
<p>Prices under Trump’s tariffs have continued to defy predictions from economists as American consumers have seen little to no effect on overall prices after the president imposed duties on dozens of countries, including America’s top trading partners. The tariffs, however, will be <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/scotus-agrees-to-hear-case-on-trumps-tariffs-after-admin-asks-for-swift-action">considered</a> by the Supreme Court, as the administration warns that a ruling striking down the tariffs would have “ruinous” consequences for the U.S. economy.</p>

‘Real Progress Here’: Wholesale Inflation Drops In August, Stunning Economists

<p>President Donald Trump said on Wednesday morning that the repeat offender accused of stabbing 23-year-old Iryna Zarutska to death on a light rail train in Charlotte, North Carolina, should be executed.</p>
<p>Trump referred to 34-year-old Decarlos Brown Jr. as an &#8220;ANIMAL,&#8221; who &#8220;violently killed the beautiful young lady from Ukraine.&#8221; Brown was <a href="https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/justice-department-charges-light-rail-attacker-federal-crime">charged</a> by the Justice Department with a federal crime on Tuesday in connection with the gruesome stabbing that was caught on camera.</p>
<p>&#8220;The ANIMAL who so violently killed the beautiful young lady from Ukraine, who came to America searching for peace and safety, should be given a &#8216;Quick&#8217; (there is no doubt!) Trial, and only awarded THE DEATH PENALTY. There can be no other option!!!&#8221; Trump <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/115180060678818221">posted</a> on Truth Social.</p>
<p>The DOJ charged Brown with one count of committing an act causing death on a mass transportation system. The federal charge makes Brown eligible for the death penalty if he is convicted. Attorney General Pam Bondi said that the feds &#8220;will seek the maximum penalty for this unforgivable act of violence — he will never again see the light of day as a free man.”</p>
<p>Video footage of the deadly stabbing, which occurred in August, shows Brown standing up behind the young woman while holding a knife before plunging the weapon into Zarutska three times, with at least one stab to the neck. The man then walks toward the door of the train, with blood dripping off the knife.</p>
<p>The full video footage of the killing, which was released on Tuesday, showed Zarutska looking up in shock after being stabbed before she slumped to the floor, and blood pooled around her.</p>
<p>Brown has a long criminal rap sheet, with 14 previous arrests for offenses such as armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon, The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/fatal-charlotte-stabbing-highlights-the-failure-of-racial-equity-policies">reported</a>. He served five years for the armed robbery, but he avoided jail time after most of his other arrests. Last year, Brown had run-ins with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department on at least three separate occasions, receiving referrals to resources and fines instead of jail time.</p>
<p>Trump has blasted Democratic policies following the fatal stabbing, saying that Zarutska&#8217;s blood &#8220;is on the hands of the Democrats who refuse to put bad people in jail.&#8221; The president has also criticized the legacy media over its lack of coverage of the killing. Some outlets, such as <a href="https://x.com/axios/status/1965010353353625669">Axios</a> and <a href="https://x.com/politico/status/1965218281830174835">POLITICO</a>, have focused on covering the Republican outrage instead of the stabbing itself or Brown&#8217;s criminal record.</p>
<p>“North Carolina, and every State, needs LAW AND ORDER, and only Republicans will deliver it! Additionally, where is the outrage from the Mainstream Media on this horrible tragedy?” Trump added.</p>
