Soon after Washington Post writer Taylor Lorenz revealed the identity of the creator of the popular Twitter account Libs of TikTok, the person behind the account received an assassination threat online, complete with her now-outed name and a photo of a firearm.

Earlier this week, Lorenz ran hit piece on the private citizen behind the account which included the woman’s name, and even originally linked to personal work information, though the link was later removed from the article.

“Assassination mode activated,” the threat reads. “Activation Word: Libs of TikTok.”

The threat then added the name of the person behind the Libs of TikTok Twitter account under “Target.”

“Begin Operation,” the post closed.

The threat captioned a photo of a person’s hands holding what appears to be a submachine gun.

When Libs of TikTok alerted Twitter Support to the threat, the platform told her the tweet did not violate its policies.

“Apparently threatening to assassinate someone doesn’t violate Twitter’s policies,” Libs of TikTok mocked Twitter. “But conservatives get suspended for stating biological facts.”

The Daily Wire reached out to Twitter for clarification on why the post did not immediately qualify as violating the company’s policies, but did not get a response back.

By Friday afternoon, the account that sent the threat is no longer available and it is unclear why.

Notably, the tweet from Libs of TikTok highlighting Twitter’s refusal to initially act of the threat went viral, racking up tens of thousands of reactions and retweets.

Earlier in the week, a Jewish stay-at-home mother with a popular Instagram account was inundated with disturbing messages and threats from angry leftists mixing her up with the woman behind Libs of TikTok — both share a common Jewish name.

The Instagram user blasted Lorenz in her social media stories for triggering the onslaught of hate, writing, “[Taylor Lorenz] this is ON YOU! You need to clarify that this is not me. People are posting and tweeting my parents’ home address!!!!!! If anything happens to my family it’s on you!”

In one chilling instance, a person publicly posted the home address of where the woman’s parents live with her autistic sister.

The threats the Instagram user swiftly received were a glimpse into why the Libs of TikTok stayed anonymous, even though the primary thing she does is reposting publicly shared TikTok videos from liberals.
