Whoopi Goldberg suggested on Thursday that former President Donald Trump was sent to the United States as a sign to show the people where the problems were and what needed to be fixed.
Goldberg made the assessment during a conversation on ABC’s midday talk show “The View,” arguing that in recent years a lot of “weird stuff has been happening,” and she believed that some of those weird things were meant to highlight real problems.

Goldberg began by saying that her real concern was the fact that no one was even talking about finding a way to prevent Trump from continuing his presidential campaign even if he were to be convicted and sentenced to time in prison.
“What really is making me – what really is starting to freak me out – is the idea that we’re not even discussing changing the Constitution to make it say you cannot be in jail and be the president,” she said.
“My fear – I’m a big fan of amendments,” Goldberg continued, as the others voiced their support for a constitutional amendment that would address that particular issue. “I feel like unless we start to plug these holes, this is going to keep biting us in the behind. You know, it really is going to take the people saying hey, listen, because if I can’t vote when I come out of jail, why can you … be president?”
“Amendments are very American,” cohost Sunny Hostin agreed.

Hostin went on to say that she believed the Constitution was a living, breathing document – largely because she claimed the men who wrote it could not have foreseen things like cell phones and AR-15s – and that it certainly made sense to update it in her mind.
“It has to grow with the country,” Goldberg added, saying, “But what has happened is – I know this is really weird but I’ve been having strange thoughts. What I think has happened for us as a nation is over the past ten years, weird stuff has been happening in the country to show us where the problems are.”
“I think the fact that we have this situation now with You-Know-Who is there to tell us, hey, y’all have a problem,” she said.
