<p>Chloe Cole, a detransitioner who is outspoken about the harms of child transgender medical interventions, reacted Monday to Elon Musk saying he &#8220;lost&#8221; his son to gender ideology.</p>
<p>The Tesla founder said he was &#8220;tricked&#8221; into putting his son on puberty blockers, and the &#8220;woke mind virus&#8221; figuratively killed his child in an <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/episode/dr-peterson-x-elon-musk">interview</a> with Dr. Jordan Peterson on DailyWire+ which premiered live Monday afternoon.</p>
<p>Cole said Musk&#8217;s experience reminded her of her family&#8217;s experience with the psychologists and physicians they were seeing at the time.</p>
<p>&#8220;They really drilled this idea hard into my mom and dad that if I were denied this, if I weren&#8217;t allowed to medically transition at the young age that I was — I was 13 when I started the medical process — that I would commit suicide, that I would be gone,&#8221; Cole said in a video posted to X, formerly Twitter, which Musk bought in 2022.</p>

<p>&#8220;It was basically the premise of having a dead daughter versus a living, happy, thriving transgender son,&#8221; Cole said. &#8220;And of course, they did not fully disclose the actual extent of how these treatments could and would affect me in my development, in my physical and psychological health.&#8221;</p>
<p>Cole began identifying as male when she was just 12. She was put on puberty blockers and testosterone and received a double mastectomy before age 17, when she began identifying as female again and detransitioned.</p>
<p>&#8220;My mom and dad and I had no idea what we were really in for. And I went through this as the child, as the patient, but I can&#8217;t fathom the pain of being a parent and watching this happen to your own child,&#8221; Cole continued.</p>
<p>Cole offered words of encouragement to Musk, the same ones she said she has offered her dad.</p>
<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m sorry that this happened to you and your son, Elon. But I&#8217;ll tell you what I say to my own dad,&#8221; Cole said, her voice breaking. &#8220;And that is that you might feel a lot of guilt for signing off on this, but it was at a time where you weren&#8217;t given any other option, and you were just doing the best with what you were given, and that wasn&#8217;t very much.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;What these doctors are doing to children and their families is evil,&#8221; she said. &#8220;It&#8217;s unconscionable. And I&#8217;m so grateful that, in spite of that pain that you&#8217;re going through, you still have chosen to speak up, and I&#8217;m so incredibly grateful for your conviction in fighting against this movement that is tearing up families like ours. Thank you, Elon.&#8221;</p>
<p>During Peterson&#8217;s interview, Peterson asked Musk why he was willing to make child medical transgender interventions an issue.</p>
<p>&#8220;Well, it happened to one of my older boys,&#8221; Musk said. &#8220;I was told oh, Xavier might commit suicide &#8230; It&#8217;s incredibly evil, and I agree with you that the people who are promoting this should go to prison.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;So I was tricked into doing this. It wasn&#8217;t explained to me that puberty blockers are actually just sterilization drugs,&#8221; Musk said. &#8220;I lost my son, essentially. They call it &#8216;deadnaming&#8217; for a reason. The reason it&#8217;s called &#8216;deadnaming&#8217; is because your son is dead. So my son Xavier is dead, killed by the woke mind virus. So I vowed to destroy the woke mind virus after that.&#8221;</p>
