President Donald Trump issued a blistering warning to the Iranian regime on Thursday, signaling that time for negotiations is running out as the conflict continues.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump ripped Iranian negotiators and suggested the regime is privately seeking a deal while publicly downplaying engagement.
“The Iranian negotiators are very different and ‘strange,’” Trump wrote. “They are ‘begging’ us to make a deal… and yet they publicly state that they are only ‘looking at our proposal.’ WRONG!!!”
He warned that Iran must act quickly.
“They better get serious soon, before it is too late, because once that happens, there is NO TURNING BACK, and it won’t be pretty!” Trump added.
This warning comes after Trump ordered a five-day pause in U.S. strikes against Iranian energy infrastructure, which is set to expire Friday, March 27, to continue negotiations.
“Based on the tenor and tone of these in depth, detailed, and constructive conversations, which will continue throughout the week, I have instructed the Department of War to postpone any and all military strikes against Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for a five day period,” Trump wrote.
Coincidentally, a massive surge of American military might is scheduled to arrive in the region on Friday. The 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), with roughly 2,200 Marines aboard the USS Tripoli, is steaming into position, alongside additional Marine units and thousands of elite paratroopers from the 82nd Airborne Division, the “Immediate Response Force.” More than 50,000 U.S. personnel and two aircraft carrier strike groups are now deployed as part of the buildup.
Trump has ensured that if Tehran refuses the path of peace, it will face an “annihilation” unlike anything the world has ever seen.
Administration officials have framed the approach as applying pressure while leaving open the possibility of diplomatic resolution. Critics, however, have often struggled to keep up with the president’s tactical shifts. By alternating between offers of “productive conversations” and promises to “raze the missile industry to the ground,” Trump keeps the enemy in a state of perpetual confusion, stripping the Iranian leadership of their ability to plan, while forcing them to negotiate from a position of absolute weakness.
Trump has repeatedly said his objectives include preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons and countering its regional military activities.
As the sun sets on the five-day negotiation period, the world watches as Trump proves once again that he will do whatever it takes to protect American interests and secure a lasting, global peace through overwhelming American power.
