Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider aired his support for KISS singer and guitarist Paul Stanley’s controversial Sunday statement, which condemned normalizing gender reassignment surgery on children as a “sad and dangerous fad.”

Stanley, 71, who co-founded the iconic rock n’ roll group formed in the 1970s, shared his thoughts on Twitter about minors being convinced to mutilate their body parts. His remarks sparked both backlash and praise as many states craft legislation surrounding so-called gender-affirming care.

Snider, 68, who formed the iconic glam rock group Twister Sister in the 1970s, retweeted Stanley’s statement in applause, becoming the next American rockstar to speak out against the mainstream transgender narrative.

“You know what? There was a time where I ‘felt pretty’ too,” Snider said. “Glad my parents didn’t jump to any rash conclusions! Well said, @PaulStanleyLive.”

Stanley’s tweet garnered millions of views within hours of posting and generated mixed reactions from social media users across the political spectrum. Critics of Stanley’s stance labeled him transphobic and hypocritical after many users referred to the American musician performing songs about sexualizing underage girls — namely the 1977 song “Christine Sixteen.”

Yet, despite critics pointing out a man who trademarked his career wearing flamboyant makeup and clothing, supporters of Stanley’s statement applauded him for speaking out against confusing young children.

Snider recently said he is tempted to start applying makeup again as a form of support for drag queens amid a surge in legislation banning drag queen performances in front of children, which could inadvertently prohibit minors from attending wrestling and glam rock shows, too.

“You know I haven’t worn the Twisted Sister Makeup in many years…but now I’m tempted to put it back on!” Snider said last month.

Several Republican-led states, including Iowa, Mississippi, Montana, and Tennessee, passed legislation banning transgender procedures for children.

Last week, the Department of Justice sued Tennessee over a state law prohibiting transgender hormone treatments and surgeries for minors.

According to the DOJ, Tennessee’s ban on transgender treatments for minors violates the Equal Protection Clause. The law discriminates against “transgender youth” diagnosed with gender dysphoria, blocking transgender treatments for them “while allowing non-transgender minors access to the same or similar procedures,” the DOJ claims.

Tennessee officials responded to the Biden administration’s lawsuit against the state, promising to fight to uphold the law and stand up for children.
