<p>President Donald Trump gave a preview on Sunday of a planned Monday press conference that he said was aimed at addressing several of the major public safety issues currently plaguing Washington, D.C.</p>
<p>Trump first announced the press conference via his Truth Social platform on Saturday, saying, &#8220;On Monday a Press Conference will be held at the White House which will, essentially, stop violent crime in Washington, D.C. It has become one of the most dangerous cities anywhere in the World. It will soon be one of the safest!!!&#8221;</p>
<p>He followed that announcement on Sunday morning with a post laying out some of the details and sharing photos of the homeless encampments that he intended to address in his remarks.</p>

We will give you places to stay, but FAR from the Capital.&#8221;</p>
<p>Trump then pivoted to address those who were breaking the law in the capital city, citing his administration&#8217;s rapid success in gaining operational control of the southern border and suggesting that he would tackle issues in the nation&#8217;s capital in equal measure.</p>
<p>&#8220;The Criminals, you don’t have to move out. We’re going to put you in jail where you belong. It’s all going to happen very fast, just like the Border. We went from millions pouring in, to ZERO in the last few months. This will be easier — Be prepared! There will be no &#8216;MR. NICE GUY.&#8217; We want our Capital BACK. <p>Former Rep. Robert Francis &#8220;Beto&#8221; O&#8217;Rourke (D-TX) railed against Republicans and called on Democrats to &#8220;f*** the rules&#8221; and redraw congressional districts that would ensure Democrats will &#8220;win whatever it takes.&#8221;</p>
<p>O&#8217;Rourke, whose most recent political aspirations ended in failures, has been attempting to use his non profit group &#8220;Powered by People&#8221; to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/judge-blocks-betos-attempt-to-funnel-cash-to-awol-texas-dems">slip money to Texas state Democrats</a> who fled the state, breaking quorum at a called special legislative session in order to stall the passage of new district map that could give Republicans as many as five more right-leaning seats.</p>
<p>Following a loss in court — where he was slapped with a restraining order preventing him from raising money for those purposes — O&#8217;Rourke continued to lash out against Republicans.</p>

<p>Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) turned out a scathing critique of former Vice President Kamala Harris and her 2024 presidential bid, saying that she&#8217;d relied too much on the counsel of billionaires who had steered her away from speaking on behalf of American workers.</p>
<p>Sanders spoke with CNN anchor Dana Bash on Sunday&#8217;s broadcast of &#8220;State of the Union,&#8221; and she asked him to address a comment he&#8217;d made about Harris at a recent rally in West Virginia.</p>

<p>Bash began with a clip of from the rally, in which Sanders told the audience, &#8220;One of the reasons, in my view, that Kamala Harris lost this election is she had too many billionaires telling her not to speak up for the working-class of this country.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Ouch,&#8221; Bash reacted before she asked Sanders to clarify.</p>
<p>&#8220;Well, no, I think, I mean, I don’t think that that’s — I like her, she’s a friend of mine, but her core consultants, you know, were heavily influenced by very wealthy people,&#8221; Sanders said. &#8220;How do you run for president and not develop a strong agenda which speaks to the economic crises facing working families? You know, more income and wealth inequality today than we’ve ever had. You have 60% of our people living paycheck to paycheck. You’ve got a health care system which is broken and dysfunctional, and despite spending so much, we’re the only major country not to guarantee health care to all people. How do you not talk about these issues?&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;She talked about affordability —&#8221; Bash prompted.</p>
<p>Sanders objected: &#8220;Well, but in a vague — I don’t want to rehash that campaign, but I think the clue to Democratic victories is to understand that you’ve got to stand unequivocally with the working class of this country. You need an agenda that speaks to the needs of working people.&#8221;</p>
<p>Just two months before the election, Sanders sang a different tune. He claimed then that Harris was being &#8220;pragmatic&#8221; in hiding her own Marxist tendencies so that she could win the election.</p>

Bernie Turns On Kamala In Scathing Critique Of 2024 Bid

<p>Comedian and HBO host Bill Maher demanded answers when he discovered that former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg — who ran for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020 and garnered a sizable chunk of the party&#8217;s support — was getting no love from black voters.</p>
<p>Maher discussed the <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/5430756-buttigieg-black-voter-challenge/">phenomenon</a> with guests Dr. Phil McGraw and Stephen A. Smith during his Friday night panel discussion, and it was Smith who finally gave him an answer: &#8220;[Buttigieg] doesn&#8217;t move us.&#8221;</p>

<p>Smith&#8217;s response to that was immediate: &#8220;I don&#8217;t believe it. I think that&#8217;s just a poll number. I can&#8217;t see that happening.&#8221;</p>
<p>Maher went on to qualify his initial statement, noting that there was some disparity in that support.</p>
<p>&#8220;Okay, but wait. 16%. Black voters? Zero,&#8221; Maher clarified. &#8220;Zero. You don&#8217;t usually see zero. Anywhere. Zero&#8217;s low.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;For who?&#8221; Smith quipped.</p>
<p>&#8220;For Buttigieg,&#8221; Maher said. &#8220;Okay, explain that. I mean — why do black voters have this — I mean, he&#8217;s a nice guy &#8230;&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Yeah, he&#8217;s under indexing a little bit with black voters,&#8221; McGraw added with a laugh.</p>
<p>&#8220;A little? What is that all about.&#8221; Maher asked again.</p>
<p>&#8220;He doesn&#8217;t move us,&#8221; Smith replied, prompting laughs from Maher and the audience. &#8220;I respect the man. I&#8217;ve interviewed him before. Very nice man, highly intelligent. But you gotta be able to move us, bro. He doesn&#8217;t move us.&#8221;</p>
<p>The audience kept laughing as he added, &#8220;You can speculate as to why that is, I&#8217;m not going there. He doesn&#8217;t move us.&#8221;</p>
<p>Comments from popular radio host Charlamagne tha God appear to back up Smith&#8217;s assertions, as he complained in 2024 that the Democratic Party had no viable prospects ahead of 2028.</p>

Pete Buttigieg Polls A Literal Zero With Black Voters, And Bill Maher Wants Answers

<p>A Texas judge has put a stop to former Rep. Beto O-Rourke&#8217;s (D-TX) attempt to funnel cash to the the fifty-odd state legislators who fled the state in an effort to stall the passage of a Republican-led redistricting plan.</p>
<p>Tarrant County District Judge Megan Fahey slapped O&#8217;Rourke with a <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/judge-blocks-beto-orourke-from-funding-texas-dems-who-fled-stop-gop-redistricting-vote">temporary restraining order</a> late on Friday, stating that funds raised by his non profit group could not be used to assist the Texas Democrats — who have been hiding out in blue states like Illinois and California since they fled the state — because they were in violation of the law as long as they remained absent from the special legislative session that had been called.</p>
<p>&#8220;Defendants have and will continue to engage in unlawful fundraising practices and utilization of political funds in a manner that either directly violates or causes Texas Democratic Legislators to violate [the law],&#8221; Fahey wrote. &#8220;Consumer have and continue to suffer irreparable harm through these unlawful acts because they are making political contributions that are being used to fund personal expenses and violate state law.&#8221;</p>
<p>O&#8217;Rourke, who failed in his most recent bids for elected office — an attempt to unseat Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) and and attempt to earn the Democratic presidential nomination — was trying to use his group &#8220;Powered by People&#8221; to help the Democrats survive their self-imposed exile by funding their travel and lodging expenses in addition to the fines they&#8217;ve racked up for not remaining in Texas to do their jobs.</p>
<p>Fahey&#8217;s ruling was a response to Attorney General Ken Paxton&#8217;s (R-TX) filing earlier that day.</p>

<p>O&#8217;Rourke responded to the ruling, claiming that Republicans in Texas were afraid of him because he and his organization were threats to their power.</p>
<p>&#8220;They want to make examples out of those who fight so that others won&#8217;t,&#8221; O&#8217;Rourke claimed. &#8220;Now Paxton’s filed a restraining order to try to take us out of the fight. He wants to silence me and stop me from leading this organization. He wants to stop us from fighting Trump’s attempt to steal the five congressional seats he needs to hang on to power. But I’m not going anywhere. I plan on speaking at our rally to stop the power grab in Fort Worth tomorrow afternoon.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Cry more, lib,&#8221; was Paxton&#8217;s reply. &#8220;You lost in court because you&#8217;re breaking the law and deceiving Texans. We absolutely will make an example out of law breakers.&#8221;</p>

Judge Blocks Beto’s Attempt To Funnel Cash To AWOL Texas Dems

<p>The U.S. Air Force will deny early retirement options to trans-identifying service members who have served between 15 and 18 years, stating they will be separated without retirement benefits instead.</p>
<p>The decision, as reported by the <a href="https://apnews.com/article/air-force-transgender-no-early-retirement-e6a4da806f2cc2bdc05f49438cbd26fd">Associated Press</a>, applies only to trans-identifying service members with 15 to 18 years of service who have been instructed to separate from the military under the reinstated ban on transgender troops. Those who had served at least 20 years and were thus eligible for full retirement were simply instructed to take it.</p>
<p>The Air Force did approve early retirement for a number of trans-identifying service members who had served at least 18 years but not the full 20 years for traditional retirement benefits. A number of those who had served more than 15 years but less than 18 had been allowed to submit appeals requesting an exception to the policy, but none were approved.</p>
<p>&#8220;Although service members with 15-18 years of honorable service were permitted to apply for an exception to policy, none of the exceptions to policy were approved,&#8221; an Air Force spokesperson told The AP, adding, &#8220;Approximately a dozen service members between 15 and 18 years of service were prematurely notified that their [early retirement] applications under the gender dysphoria provision had been approved.&#8221;</p>
<p>In lieu of approving those appeals, those with 15 to 18 years of service will receive separation pay at double the rate they would normally receive for involuntary separation from the military. Any remaining service requirements, such as years of service tied to either education benefits or enlistment or reenlistment bonuses, &#8220;will be waived&#8221; — meaning that there will be no additional barrier for those who would prefer to transfer their G.I. Bill education benefits to eligible family members.</p>
<p>A memo sent on Monday announced that the decision to deny those additional retirement benefits was made &#8220;after careful consideration of the individual applications.&#8221;</p>
