Earlier this week, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) gave an address at the NAACP’s 110th anniversary convention in Detroit, Michigan — and it was a bumpy ride.
The top House Democrat, who has been criticized for stammering her way through speeches before, flubbed a number of phrases and words while giving her prepared remarks; the missteps were compiled into a video montage from Grabien Media, which can be viewed below.
Here are just some of the highlighted stumbles from Pelosi:
“It’s wonder to be here…”
“Imagine the honor to get the NAACP cem—, centen—, NAACT centennial anniversary.”
“And now it is a great pleasure to be with you here in New York— in Detroit for the NAAC’s 110th anniversary.”
“In our new house, the house, the house congressional black caucus…”
“We, too, must continue to stand firm for fairness, for generin—, genuine equality.”
“Once we, once we restore the vote and break the grass, the gas, the grasp of special interest…”
“A pay raise that is so ex—, in the workplace, we must achieve health—, justice and healthcare.”
TheBlaze TV’s Pat Gray and Keith Malinak of “Pat Gray Unleashed” played the montage of Pelosi’s fumbles. “She was not winning during that,” snarked Gray, referencing the Democrat’s “when we fight, we win” comment. Malinak chimed in: “When you fight the English language, Nancy, you aren’t winning.”
In May, President Donald Trump posted a video montage from Fox Business of Pelosi stumbling through a conference: “PELOSI STAMMERS THROUGH NEWS CONFERENCE,” he captioned the video.
As noted by The Daily Wire, the montage showcases the California Democrat stuttering and jumbling her words in a 35-second mashup of a lengthy news conference. Fox Business Network (FBN) political analyst Ed Rollins, appearing on FBN’s “Lou Dobbs Tonight,” noted the leading Democrat’s age and said she’s been “uncharacteristically … inarticulate” as of late.
“She shouldn’t be the point-person leading the Democrats,” he added.
Before posting the video, Trump dubbed Pelosi “Crazy Nancy.” “She’s a mess. She’s lost it,” Trump said.
In recent days, however, Trump has strategically weighed in on the battle between Pelosi and the radical freshman congresswomen at odds with the speaker.
“I deal with Nancy Pelosi a lot and we go back and forth and it’s fine, but I think that a group of people is being very disrespectful to her,” the president told reporters earlier this month, according to Mediaite. “And you know what? I don’t think that Nancy can let that go on.”
“[Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY)] should treat Nancy Pelosi with respect,” he continued. “She should not be doing what she’s doing.”
Trump noted that, contrary to Ocasio-Cortez’s apparent suggestion, Pelosi “is not a racist.”
“And I’ll tell you something about Nancy Pelosi that you know better than I do. She is not a racist, okay? She is not a racist,” he said. “For them to call her a racist is a disgrace.”
