<p>Two recently retired senior Mossad agents who led Israel&#8217;s secret operation to sell walkie-talkies and pagers packed with explosives to the Iranian-backed Hezbollah terrorist organization revealed in an interview that aired Sunday night how they did it.</p>
<p>The two officials — who were allowed to cover their faces, distort their voices, and use fake names — gave a new inside look into the operation during an interview with CBS News&#8217; &#8220;60 Minutes.&#8221;</p>
<p>The operation started more than a decade ago when Israel sold Hezbollah 16,000 walkie-talkies that were packed with explosives inside the device&#8217;s batteries that could not be detected.</p>
<p>Mossad built all the devices that were sold to Hezbollah without the terrorist group having the slightest idea that they were being tricked.</p>
<p>&#8220;We have an incredible array of possibilities of creating foreign companies that have no way being traced back to Israel,&#8221; said Michael, who was in charge of the operation. &#8220;Shell companies over shell companies to affect the supply chain to our favor. We create a pretend world. We are a global production company. We write the screenplay, we&#8217;re the directors, we&#8217;re the producers, we&#8217;re the main actors, and the world is our stage.&#8221;</p>

<p>Mossad then started building pagers for Hezbollah in 2022 and did so by making the terrorist group believe that they were buying pagers from their current supplier, the Taiwanese company Gold Apollo.</p>
<p>Mossad built custom pagers that were slightly larger than usual so that they could carry the explosives.</p>
<p>The intelligence agency carried out extensive testing to ensure that the amount of explosives inside the devices was enough to severely injure or kill the Hezbollah terrorists using the devices but not enough to hurt anyone who was standing or sitting next to them.</p>
<p>&#8220;If we push the button the only one that will get injured is the terrorist himself,&#8221; said Gabriel, another top Mossad official who was involved in the operation. &#8220;Even if his wife or his daughter will be just next to him, he&#8217;s the only one that&#8217;s going to be harmed.&#8221;</p>
<p>Mossad created shell companies, marketing videos, and even worked with a sales representative who sold to Hezbollah to ensure everything went smoothly. They even had showrooms set up so no one would suspect anything was off.</p>
