PragerU’s Will Witt ventured out to speak to the great people of Los Angeles to test their pro-abortion consistency, and it didn’t go over so well.
The conservative asked folks in Echo Park if they would sign a petition to help protect unborn eagles, such as implementing steeper fines for those who tamper with eagle eggs. The liberals were enthusiastic to sign the petition and outraged that people would ever harm unborn animals.
But when they were asked about a second petition, one which would protect unborn humans, their tune quickly changed.
“We have a petition to stop the killing of eagles, like eagle eggs, people disturb them or they destroy them. These eagles haven’t been born yet, they have rights, ya know? We don’t think they should be harmed and we think that there should be harsher penalties for those kind of things. Would you guys agree?” Witt asked.
“Yes, of course,” two women quickly agreed.
“Don’t kill eagles,” another woman said, later adding, “Eagles are people, too!”
A bikini-clad female enthusiastically signed, gushing, “Oh my God, how fun.”
“Best of luck, I hope you save the eagles,” a signer told Witt.
Witt then introduced the second petition to the liberals who were very against the killing of unborn eagles. “We have one other petition about stopping the killing of humans, too — like, babies,” he told them.
“Uh, I hate the killing of babies!” one woman gasped, before understanding that the petition was against abortion.
“We want to protect their rights, too, even though they’re unborn,” Witt further explained.
“Wait, no,” one woman interrupted,” I don’t agree with that. I’m like pro-abortion, sorry.” She later added that “eagles aren’t raped” as justification for the disconnect. It’s unclear if the woman only supports abortion in the case of rape, however.
Another anti-eagle-killing petition signer rebuffed Witt. “Oh, no, I don’t agree. I fully support abortion.”
“Why do you support not the killing of unborn eagles but the killing of unborn children?” Witt pressed.
“Uh, I think it’s the woman’s decision,” she answered. “A human woman should have more rights probably than a bald eagle. Abortion,” the woman added before storming off with her friend.
It’s unclear why an unborn eagle would have more rights than an unborn human child, though.
The woman in the white bikini was the most honest, it seemed. “Babies are gross,” she declared. “You know what it does to your body?” she asked Witt. “You’re not a woman so you have no idea.”
She then acknowledged that birth control is readily available: “2019, take birth control, use condoms.”
As noted by Save the Storks, it is against the law to intentionally destroy the egg of a bald eagle in the United States, though there are well over 600,000 legal abortions performed each year. “Under the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act of 1940, deliberately destroying — or even disturbing — a bald eagle’s egg is punishable by a maximum $5,000 fine and up to a year in prison.”
