When the immensely popular Fox News show “Tucker Carlson Tonight” aired for the final time on Friday, April 21, no one knew that they were watching the end of an era — least of all, Carlson himself.
The show-stopping segment featured Carlson sharing a pizza — and a laugh — with pizza-delivery man Tyler Morrell, whom Carlson had invited on the show because he stopped an alleged carjacker.
Morrell, who was delivering a pizza at the time of the incident, saw the man jump out of what was believed to be a stolen car and attempt to evade police on foot.
“I could see him get away from the cop and I’m like, ‘I’m right here, so I might as well do something. Yeah, I might as well throw my leg out,'” Morrell said, and when he made contact with the fleeing suspect — without dropping the pizza — the teenager went flying across the yard.
“I really tried to just make him stumble, so they can catch up to him but I didn’t mean to send him flying, so that’s the craziest part of it,” he said.

Carlson joked about using his show to get free food before bringing in Morrell, who had brought along several pizzas to share — including a special pie made to Carson’s tastes.
“This is sausage and pineapple,” Carlson said before taking a bite. “And really quick, as a pizza professional, do you look down on this order?”
“I do,” Morrell confirmed, prompting loud laughter from Carlson. “I consider it criminal.”

“I used to deliver pizzas and calzones I considered immoral, but I delivered them anyway,” Carlson said, still laughing as he went to take a bite. “Oh. It’s so good, it’s unbelievable. You are a hero.”

“How’s your leg, by the way?” Carlson asked, noting that Morrell had been a little banged up in the incident.
Morrell proceeded to show off a bruise on his lower leg, quickly dismissing it as “not too bad.”
“Were your family and friends impressed by what you did?” Carlson continued, and Morrell confirmed that they were — and that they had come with him to the studio. “Are they really? I’m going to — once I’ve stuffed myself on your pineapple and sausage, and you’re right, it is a disgusting order, but I have no shame — I’m going to go meet them. Oh! There they are!”
“What a great way to end a week,” Carlson concluded the show, saying, “That’s it for us for the week … We’ll be back on Monday, in the meantime have the best weekend with the ones that you love and we’ll see you then.”
According to several reports, Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott and Fox Corp chief executive Lachlan Murdoch had made the decision to let Carlson go as early as Friday evening — and the popular host was informed just ten minutes before the news went public.
