The blackface nightmare Democrats are facing in Virginia has curiously not been referenced at all on the late-night shows of a couple of popular liberal hosts. Both Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon have avoided commenting on Demoratic Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam’s infamous blackface/KKK photo (and his Michael Jackson impersonation), nor have either acknowledged the new admission by the Democrat who’s second in line for the governorship that he too dressed in blackface.
While Fallon is less political than Kimmel, he has allowed himself to get a bit more political after massive backlash from his liberal audience over his decision to interview then-candidate Donald Trump in 2016, which critics blasted as helping to “normalize” Trump. Kimmel, meanwhile, has embraced left-wing politics enthusiastically, frequently using his show to hammer various Democratic talking points and regularly condemning Trump.
But though Kimmel in particular is known for his hyper-partisan approach to the big news of the day, it appears that his Democratic sympathies are not the sole reason he’s avoiding the Virginia blackface controversy: The real reason appears to be that Kimmel, like Fallon, has dressed in blackface in the past.
Here’s video of one of Kimmel’s now infamous “Man Show” sketches mocking African American NBA great Karl Malone in which he says, “Sometime at night, Karl Malone look up at the sky and say what duh hell goin’ on up der?”
But that wasn’t his only blackface sketch; Kimmel not only enjoyed playing Malone, he also darkened his face up to mock Oprah Winfrey. Here’s a screenshot via Fox News:

As for Fallon, he once famously appeared as “Chris Rock” on “Saturday Night Live,” complete with dark makeup and a wig, the New York Post notes. Here’s a screenshot of the moment that made its way to Reddit:

As The Daily Wire noted Thursday, another popular, hyper-partisan liberal host has also put on dark makeup to pretend to be “African”: Joy Behar.
As The Daily Wire’s Amanda Prestigiacomo points out, conservative former host Megyn Kelly was fired not because she actually donned blackface — like Behar, Kimmel and Fallon — but for simply asking why it was inherently racist if it was done in a respectful manner.
The blackface controversy in Virginia was prompted by the unearthing of an old photo on the personal med school yearbook page of Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam. After apologoizing for a photo showing one man in blackface and another in a KKK hood, Northam has since asserted that he is not in the photo, but has admitted to dressing up like Michael Jackson at another event. Northam became a national name after defending letting born-alive children die if the mother chooses not to save them.
The second in line for the job should Northam step down, as his fellow Democrats are demanding, has since come forward to admit to wearing blackface once too. The next in line for the Virginia governorship after Northam, Democrat Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax, has now been publicly accused of rape.
