In 2012, Brittni De La Mora found God and left the adult film industry. She’s now married to a pastor and spreads messages of hope, salvation, and, yes, purity.
“I went from a porn star to purity,” said De La Mora, whose maiden name is Ruiz.
In 2013, De La Mora spoke to BuzzFeed about her escape from porn, an industry she entered at just age 18, when she was “searching for love.”
Performing under the name “Jenna Presley,” De La Mora was at the top of the adult film industry; she appeared in Maxim magazine as one of the top 12 females in porn and was raking in thousands of dollars for mere hours of “work.”
But she felt empty. Depressed, De La Mora said she turned to drugs and alcohol to fill the void. She even attempted suicide.
“I’m being told I’m beautiful and getting attention,” she told The View, just seven months out from leaving the industry. “In the beginning, I felt beautiful. I felt like I found my self-worth. And after a while I felt destroyed.”
“It was torture for seven years. I was miserable, I was lonely,” she explained. “I knew I wanted out, but I didn’t know how to get out.”
In 2012, De La Mora encountered God when visiting a friend’s church in San Diego and never looked back. BuzzFeed reports:
“I was invited to church and I felt the love of God,” she says. She brought a Bible with her on a flight from San Diego to Las Vegas, where she was going to shoot another film, started reading, and she knew it was time to leave. “I knew it was my last scene,” she says.
“I value myself now,” she said, “and I didn’t before.”
De La Mora, then Ruiz, fell in love with youth pastor Richard De La Mora; the two took their promises to God seriously and remained pure until their wedding night.
The couple recently posted a video online about the “taboo topic” of purity.
“Richard and Brittni know the difficulties of waiting to have sex until marriage,” reads the video’s caption. “They’ve both been intimate with other people, but with each other, they waited & they are glad they did. This video is for anyone wanting to walk the same walk of purity they did. Purity is not easy, but with God it is possible.”
De La Mora explained the meaning and importance of sexual purity and gave viewers tips on how to resist such temptation.
“I went from a porn star to purity,” she said. “I went from one extreme to the next.”

“Purity is not an external thing. Purity really is an internal thing,” De La Mora continued. “It’s not the abstinence of sex that makes you pure. It’s the relationship and the right standing that you have with God that makes you pure.”
“The way I was able to keep my heart clean and my heart pure before God, was, everyday, since I met Him in 2012, I would seek Him through worship music, through prayer, through reading the Bible, and I would also fast on occasion, as well … because I wanted my soul to be cleansed,” she said.
“I encountered so much hurt and so much pain in my life that it was impossible for me to stay pure or to be pure with that pain in my soul” without God, she said.
Rich added, “We wanted to have a clean testimony before the Lord,” he said. “We absolutely did that. We fought the good fight of faith and we did it and honored the Lord. It wasn’t easy.”
