Angry DACA supporters descended upon Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s (D-NY) home on Tuesday, demanding amnesty.
The protests broke out after Schumer backed down to President Donald Trump and Senate Republicans over the government shutdown that started on Friday and ended three days later, Fox News Insider reports.
Activists created a Facebook page called “Our Lives Are On The Line, Chuck” to spread awareness about the protests and encouraged people to rally around Schumer’s personal residence in New York City’s Prospect Park.
The group chanted, “If Chuck won’t let us Dream, we won’t let him sleep!”
Walter Barrientos, of Make the Road New York, told The Washington Post that pro-amnesty supporters are furious over Schumer’s weakness and vowed to apply “relentless” pressure to the politician.
“We are planning on being relentless in our pressure for the next two weeks,” Barrientos said. “We can’t allow him to fail us again.”
