WATCH: Dr. House Says Mean Stuff About Trump At The Golden Globes

Building off of Meryl Streep’s remarkably tone deaf complaint about Hollywood being unfairly “vilified” by the evil Donald Trump and his anti-Hollywood/foreigners/press Republican colleagues, actor Hugh Laurie joined the chorus of Trump critics at the Golden Globes on Sunday.

“I suppose it’s made more amazing by the fact that I’ll be able to say I won this at the last ever Golden Globes,” said the actor, who was accepting an award for his supporting role in AMC’s The Night Manager. “I don’t mean to be gloomy it’s just that it has the words ‘Hollywood,’ ‘Foreign,’ and ‘Press’ in the title. I just don’t know…”

He then made sure to make clear that he was trying to insult not just Trump but all Republicans.

“I also think to some Republicans even the word ‘association’ is slightly sketchy,” he said.

He then accepted the award “on behalf of psychopathic billionaires everywhere.” Watch:

Unsurprisingly, USA Today cheered on Laurie, awarding him for the “best Trump joke of the Golden Globes.”

The attacks on Trump came early and often, kicked off by Jimmy Fallon in his opening monologue and then ratcheted up by Streep.

“This is the Golden Globes: One of the few places left where America honors the popular vote,” said Fallon in his 4-minute opening number. The results of the voting, he added later, were “carefully tabulated by the accounting firm Ernst and Young and Putin.” He eventually pulled out the King Joffrey joke, saying, Game of Thrones “has so many plot twists and shocking moments, a lot of people are wondering what it would be like if King Joffery had lived. Well, in 12 days we’re gonna find out.”

Fallon also drew attention to Streep in the monologue, referencing her biographical comedy about an awful opera singer to slam Trump, saying, “The character has been dubbed the world’s worst opera singer — and even she turned down singing at Donald Trump’s inauguration.”

Streep made headlines by whining about being a member of one of the three most “vilified” groups: “Hollywood, foreigners, and the press,” and then condemning Trump for “imitat[ing] a disabled reporter”:

There was one performance this year that stunned me. It sank its hooks in my heart. Not because it was good. There was nothing good about it. But it was effective and it did its job. It made its intended audience laugh and show their teeth. It was that moment when the person asking to sit in the most respected seat in our country imitated a disabled reporter, someone he outranked in privilege, power, and the capacity to fight back.

While Trump has not responded to Fallon or Laurie, he responded forcefully to “Hillary flunky” Streep on Twitter early Monday:

Meryl Streep, one of the most over-rated actresses in Hollywood, doesn’t know me but attacked last night at the Golden Globes. She is a Hillary flunky who lost big. For the 100th time, I never “mocked” a disabled reporter (would never do that) but simply showed him “groveling” when he totally changed a 16 year old story that he had written in order to make me look bad. Just more very dishonest media!
