WATCH: Ami Horowitz Asks NY College Students About Kavanaugh, Gets Wild Responses

By  James Barrett

Documentary filmmaker Ami Horowitz took to the streets of New York City this week to ask college students what they think about Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. What he found was that students don’t like Donald Trump’s second nominee to the Supreme Court one bit — and they’re willing to believe just about anything about him, so long as it’s terrible.

Horowitz begins by asking students if they like Trump’s nominee. “I don’t like him,” one dude responded. “Uh, I don’t like him,” said another student. “F*** Trump,” one girl said. “Ugh. He sucks!” said another.

Having firmly established the uniform distaste for Kavanaugh, Horowitz decided to test just how badly they view him after all of the vilification from the Left, and found that there wasn’t a claim too absurd he could make about Kavanaugh that they wouldn’t buy.

In response to Horowitz claiming Kavanaugh wants the U.S. to go back to considering black people to be only three-fifths of a person, one girl exclaimed, “Wow, that’s terrible, oh my God!” One guy suggested, “These people shouldn’t be in office, you know. They’re perpetuating racist ideals.” One girl replied, “I abhor that, but I can’t tell you I’m surprised that’s his stance.”

“Believe it or not, not a single person challenged me on this absurdity,” says Horowitz.

So, he kept going. His next absurd claim was that Kavanaugh wants to go back to women not having the right to vote. Once again, none of the interviewees pushed back. “It’s like that documentary, ‘A Handmaid’s Tale,'” says Horowitz, with affirmation from the respondent.

Horowitz then asked some questions about the students’ views on the role of the highest court of the land, created for the express purpose of determining the constitutionality of laws.

“Do you think we’d be better off if the Supreme Court’s role was to support social justice and not the Constitution?” Horowitz asked.

You can probably guess how that went.
