WATCH: Abortion Lover Busy Philipps Dodges Question About Infanticide

Former “Freaks and Geeks” star Busy Philipps has proven to be more freak and less geek in her adult years, considering that her staunch abortion support seems to have clouded her ability to understand something as obvious as infanticide.

According to LifeNews, the actress who previously touted abortion as the “best decision” of her life, testified before Congress this week. Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) confronted Philipps with the story of late-term abortion survivor Melissa Ohden, who was saved by a nurse following her mother’s botched procedure. At the time, the medical team discussed whether or not to let Ohden die. When Gohmert asked Philipps if her abortion support would include the infanticide of someone like Ohden, she had trouble answering.

“Would you agree that somebody who has survived an abortion, like Melissa Ohden, has a right, once she’s born, to life, to control over her body where someone else doesn’t take her life?” Gohmert asked Philipps.

“Although I played a doctor on television, sir, I am actually not a physician,” Philipps cynically responded.

“No, but you’ve given very compelling testimony and I appreciate that you’ve obviously given these issues a lot of thought — that’s why I’m asking you,” Gohmert shot back.

Rather than responding directly, Philipps simply trotted out a pro-choice talking point. “I think that it’s something that is very important,” she said. “I don’t believe that a politician’s place is to decide what’s best for a woman — it’s a choice between a woman and her doctor.”

“What about a baby and the doctor?” Gohmert asked. “That’s my question.”

Philipps elected not to comment further unless she fully understood the exact details of Ohden’s story.

Her comments on infanticide follow a recent rant she gave on her E! show “Busy Tonight,” wherein she strongly denounced Georgia’s fetal heartbeat bill while praising her own abortion as a great decision.

“I had an abortion when I was fifteen years old, and I’m telling you this because I’m genuinely really scared for women and girls all over this country,” she said on her show.

“So this morning, Georgia’s governor signed a bill effectively banning abortion after five to six weeks into pregnancy. That’s before most women even know that they’re pregnant,” she claimed. “Women and their doctors are in the best position to make informed decisions about what’s best for them. Nobody else. Nobody.

Multiple Hollywood actors and actresses have come out in recent weeks to push for abortion in the wake of Georgia and Alabama passing restrictive abortion laws, including Anne Hathaway, Reese Witherspoon, Laverne Cox, Alyssa Milano, and many others.

“I’m beyond upset about the passing of new abortion bans in Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, Georgia, and Ohio,” Witherspoon tweeted this week. “This is unconstitutional and abhorrent. We can not tolerate this attack on women’s fundamental rights.”

“Yes the anti-abortion movement is primarily about controlling women’s bodies under the premise (for many, sincere) of saving lives, and yes this law is primarily the work of white men HOWEVER a white woman sponsored the bill and a white woman signed it into law,” Anne Hathaway wrote in an Instagram post in May.
