The City University of New York (CUNY) is being blasted by critics after a speaker at the law school’s commencement delivered a maleficent speech attacking the NYPD, the U.S. military, and the state of Israel.

Fatima Mousa Mohammed, selected by the graduating class of 2023 to speak, gave her incendiary speech at the May 12 law school commencement.

Saying she chose CUNY School of Law to learn how to work “to lift the façade of legal neutrality and confront the systems of oppression that wreak violence on them,” she added, “Systems of oppression created to feed an empire with a ravenous appetite for destruction and violence,” while calling the American legal system “a manifestation of white supremacy that continues to oppress and suppress people in this nation and around the world.”

“Israel continues to indiscriminately rain bullets and bombs on worshippers, murdering the old, the young, attacking even funerals and graveyards, as it encourages lynch mobs to target Palestinian homes and businesses, as it imprisons its children, as it continues its project of settler colonialism, expelling Palestinians from their homes,” she ranted.

“We did all of this in spite of the racism, in spite of the selective activism, the self-serving interests of CUNY central, an institution that continues to fail us, that continues to train and cooperate with the fascism NYPD, the military, that continues to train IDF soldiers to carry out that same violence globally,” she raged.

“May the rage that fills this auditorium, dance in the hallways of our elementary schools, in our home villages of Sheikh Jarrah, Aden, Yemen, Haiti, Puerto Rico, and the Philippines,” she declared. “May we rejoice in the corners of our New York City bedroom apartments and dining tables, may it be fuel for the fight against capitalism, racism, imperialism, and Zionism around the world.”

“Greater empires of destruction have fallen before, and so will these. So, to the class of 2023: the fight begins now,” she concluded.

“Vile anti-American & anti-Israel speech promoting hate. Totally unacceptable graduation speech for taxpayers funded institution.  @CUNY  &  @CUNYLaw  should immediately condemn this hateful speech & take all steps necessary to address such dangerous rhetoric!” New York City Councilman Ari Kagan fired.

Councilwoman Inna Vernikov echoed, “If anyone had doubts on what’s going on at @CUNY, and if hearing we held did not convince you, here it is: Vile, unabashed hatred for America, Israel, NYPD, & democracy.  I can’t imagine sitting in the audience as a graduate. These are NYC’s future lawyers. @CUNY any comment?”

“This hate-filled and dangerous speech has been brought to you by @CUNY and paid for by New York taxpayers,” New York state assemblyman Simcha Eisenstein tweeted. “Keep this in mind next time our elected leaders highlight their commitment to fighting antisemitism.”

New York Congressman Ritchie Torres echoed, “Imagine being so crazed by hatred for Israel as a Jewish State that you make it the subject of your commencement speech at a law school graduation.”
